21:1
הַדָּבָ֛ר אֲשֶׁר־הָיָ֥ה אֶֽל־יִרְמְיָ֖הוּ מֵאֵ֣ת יְהֹוָ֑ה בִּשְׁלֹ֨חַ אֵלָ֜יו הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ צִדְקִיָּ֗הוּ אֶת־פַּשְׁחוּר֙ בֶּן־מַלְכִּיָּ֔ה וְאֶת־צְפַנְיָ֧ה בֶן־מַעֲשֵׂיָ֛ה הַכֹּהֵ֖ן לֵאמֹֽר׃
ὁ λόγος ὁ γενόμενος παρὰ κυρίου πρὸς Ιερεμιαν ὅτε ἀπέστειλεν πρὸς αὐτὸν ὁ βασιλεὺς Σεδεκιας τὸν Πασχωρ υἱὸν Μελχιου καὶ Σοφονιαν υἱὸν Μαασαιου τὸν ἱερέα λέγων
Verbum quod factum est ad Jeremiam a Domino, quando misit ad eum rex Sedecias Phassur filium Melchiae, et Sophoniam filium Maasiae sacerdotem, dicens :
ቃለ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ዘኮነ፡ ኀበ፡ ኤርሚያስ፡ እምኀበ፡ እግዚአብሔር።
The word which came to Jeremiah from Yahweh, when King Zedekiah sent to him Pashhur the son of Malchijah, and Zephaniah the son of Maaseiah, the priest, saying,
21:2
דְּרׇשׁ־נָ֤א בַעֲדֵ֙נוּ֙ אֶת־יְהֹוָ֔ה כִּ֛י נְבוּכַדְרֶאצַּ֥ר מֶֽלֶךְ־בָּבֶ֖ל נִלְחָ֣ם עָלֵ֑ינוּ אוּלַי֩ יַעֲשֶׂ֨ה יְהֹוָ֤ה אוֹתָ֙נוּ֙ כְּכׇל־נִפְלְאֹתָ֔יו וְיַעֲלֶ֖ה מֵעָלֵֽינוּ׃
ἐπερώτησον περὶ ἡμῶν τὸν κύριον ὅτι βασιλεὺς Βαβυλῶνος ἐφέστηκεν ἐφ’ ἡμᾶς εἰ ποιήσει κύριος κατὰ πάντα τὰ θαυμάσια αὐτοῦ καὶ ἀπελεύσεται ἀφ’ ἡμῶν
Interroga pro nobis Dominum, quia Nabuchodonosor, rex Babylonis, praeliatur adversum nos : si forte faciat Dominus nobiscum secundum omnia mirabilia sua, et recedat a nobis.
ወይቤሎ፡ ሰአሎ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር፡ በእንቲኣነ።
“Please inquire of Yahweh for us; for Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon makes war against us. Perhaps Yahweh will deal with us according to all his wondrous works, that he may withdraw from us.”
21:3
וַיֹּ֥אמֶר יִרְמְיָ֖הוּ אֲלֵיהֶ֑ם כֹּ֥ה תֹאמְרֻ֖ן אֶל־צִדְקִיָּֽהוּ׃ {ס}
καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτοὺς Ιερεμιας οὕτως ἐρεῖτε πρὸς Σεδεκιαν βασιλέα Ιουδα
Et dixit Jeremias ad eos : Sic dicetis Sedeciae :
ወይቤሎሙ፡ ኤርምያስ፡ ከመ፡ ዝ፡ በልዎ፡ ለሴዴቅያስ፡ ንጉሠ፡ ይሁዳ።
Then Jeremiah said to them, “Tell Zedekiah:
21:4
כֹּה־אָמַ֨ר יְהֹוָ֜ה אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל הִנְנִ֣י מֵסֵב֮ אֶת־כְּלֵ֣י הַמִּלְחָמָה֮ אֲשֶׁ֣ר בְּיֶדְכֶם֒ אֲשֶׁ֨ר אַתֶּ֜ם נִלְחָמִ֣ים בָּ֗ם אֶת־מֶ֤לֶךְ בָּבֶל֙ וְאֶת־הַכַּשְׂדִּ֔ים הַצָּרִ֣ים עֲלֵיכֶ֔ם מִח֖וּץ לַחוֹמָ֑ה וְאָסַפְתִּ֣י אוֹתָ֔ם אֶל־תּ֖וֹךְ הָעִ֥יר הַזֹּֽאת׃
τάδε λέγει κύριος ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ μεταστρέφω τὰ ὅπλα τὰ πολεμικά ἐν οἷς ὑμεῖς πολεμεῖτε ἐν αὐτοῖς πρὸς τοὺς Χαλδαίους τοὺς συγκεκλεικότας ὑμᾶς ἔξωθεν τοῦ τείχους εἰς τὸ μέσον τῆς πόλεως ταύτης
Haec dicit Dominus Deus Israël : Ecce ego convertam vasa belli quae in manibus vestris sunt, et quibus vos pugnatis adversum regem Babylonis et Chaldaeos qui obsident vos in circuitu murorum : et congregabo ea in medio civitatis hujus.
ከመ፡ ዝ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ አምላከ፡ እስራኤል።
‘Yahweh, the God of Israel says, “Behold, I will turn back the weapons of war that are in your hands, with which you fight against the king of Babylon, and against the Chaldeans who besiege you outside the walls; and I will gather them into the middle of this city.
21:5
וְנִלְחַמְתִּ֤י אֲנִי֙ אִתְּכֶ֔ם בְּיָ֥ד נְטוּיָ֖ה וּבִזְר֣וֹעַ חֲזָקָ֑ה וּבְאַ֥ף וּבְחֵמָ֖ה וּבְקֶ֥צֶף גָּדֽוֹל׃
καὶ πολεμήσω ἐγὼ ὑμᾶς ἐν χειρὶ ἐκτεταμένῃ καὶ ἐν βραχίονι κραταιῷ μετὰ θυμοῦ καὶ ὀργῆς καὶ παροργισμοῦ μεγάλου
Et debellabo ego vos in manu extenta, et in brachio forti, et in furore, et in indignatione, et in ira grandi.
ወአነ፡ እትቃተለክሙ፡ በእድ፡ ጽንዕት፡ ወበመዝራዕት፡ ልዕልት።
I myself will fight against you with an outstretched hand and with a strong arm, even in anger, in wrath, and in great indignation.
21:6
וְהִכֵּיתִ֗י אֶת־יֽוֹשְׁבֵי֙ הָעִ֣יר הַזֹּ֔את וְאֶת־הָאָדָ֖ם וְאֶת־הַבְּהֵמָ֑ה בְּדֶ֥בֶר גָּד֖וֹל יָמֻֽתוּ׃
καὶ πατάξω πάντας τοὺς κατοικοῦντας ἐν τῇ πόλει ταύτῃ τοὺς ἀνθρώπους καὶ τὰ κτήνη ἐν θανάτῳ μεγάλῳ καὶ ἀποθανοῦνται
Et percutiam habitatores civitatis hujus : homines et bestiae pestilentia magna morientur.
በመዓት፡ ወበመቅሠፍት፡ ዓቢይ።
I will strike the inhabitants of this city, both man and animal. They will die of a great pestilence.
21:7
וְאַחֲרֵי־כֵ֣ן נְאֻם־יְהֹוָ֡ה אֶתֵּ֣ן אֶת־צִדְקִיָּ֣הוּ מֶלֶךְ־יְהוּדָ֣ה וְאֶת־עֲבָדָ֣יו׀וְאֶת־הָעָ֡ם וְאֶת־הַנִּשְׁאָרִים֩ בָּעִ֨יר הַזֹּ֜את מִן־הַדֶּ֣בֶר׀ מִן־הַחֶ֣רֶב וּמִן־הָרָעָ֗ב בְּיַד֙ נְבוּכַדְרֶאצַּ֣ר מֶלֶךְ־בָּבֶ֔ל וּבְיַד֙ אֹֽיְבֵיהֶ֔ם וּבְיַ֖ד מְבַקְשֵׁ֣י נַפְשָׁ֑ם וְהִכָּ֣ם לְפִי־חֶ֔רֶב לֹא־יָח֣וּס עֲלֵיהֶ֔ם וְלֹ֥א יַחְמֹ֖ל וְלֹ֥א יְרַחֵֽם׃
καὶ μετὰ ταῦτα οὕτως λέγει κύριος δώσω τὸν Σεδεκιαν βασιλέα Ιουδα καὶ τοὺς παῖδας αὐτοῦ καὶ τὸν λαὸν τὸν καταλειφθέντα ἐν τῇ πόλει ταύτῃ ἀπὸ τοῦ θανάτου καὶ ἀπὸ τοῦ λιμοῦ καὶ ἀπὸ τῆς μαχαίρας εἰς χεῖρας ἐχθρῶν αὐτῶν τῶν ζητούντων τὰς ψυχὰς αὐτῶν καὶ κατακόψουσιν αὐτοὺς ἐν στόματι μαχαίρας οὐ φείσομαι ἐπ’ αὐτοῖς καὶ οὐ μὴ οἰκτιρήσω αὐτούς
Et post haec, ait Dominus, dabo Sedeciam regem Juda, et servos ejus, et populum ejus, et qui derelicti sunt in civitate hac a peste, et gladio, et fame, in manu Nabuchodonosor regis Babylonis, et in manu inimicorum eorum, et in manu quaerentium animam eorum : et percutiet eos in ore gladii, et non flectetur, neque parcet, nec miserebitur.
ወእም፡ ዝ፡ ከመ፡ ዝ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር።
Afterward,” says Yahweh, “I will deliver Zedekiah king of Judah, his servants, and the people, even those who are left in this city from the pestilence, from the sword, and from the famine, into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of those who seek their life. He will strike them with the edge of the sword. He will not spare them, have pity, or have mercy.”’
21:8
וְאֶל־הָעָ֤ם הַזֶּה֙ תֹּאמַ֔ר כֹּ֖ה אָמַ֣ר יְהֹוָ֑ה הִנְנִ֤י נֹתֵן֙ לִפְנֵיכֶ֔ם אֶת־דֶּ֥רֶךְ הַחַיִּ֖ים וְאֶת־דֶּ֥רֶךְ הַמָּֽוֶת׃
καὶ πρὸς τὸν λαὸν τοῦτον ἐρεῖς τάδε λέγει κύριος ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ δέδωκα πρὸ προσώπου ὑμῶν τὴν ὁδὸν τῆς ζωῆς καὶ τὴν ὁδὸν τοῦ θανάτου
Et ad populum hunc dices : Haec dicit Dominus : Ecce ego do coram vobis viam vitae, et viam mortis.
ወበሎሙ፡ ለዝ፡ ሕዝብ፡ ከመ፡ ዝ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር።
“You shall say to this people, ‘Yahweh says: “Behold, I set before you the way of life and the way of death.
21:9
הַיֹּשֵׁב֙ בָּעִ֣יר הַזֹּ֔את יָמ֕וּת בַּחֶ֖רֶב וּבָרָעָ֣ב וּבַדָּ֑בֶר וְהַיּוֹצֵא֩ וְנָפַ֨ל עַל־הַכַּשְׂדִּ֜ים הַצָּרִ֤ים עֲלֵיכֶם֙ (יחיה) [וְחָיָ֔ה] וְהָיְתָה־לּ֥וֹ נַפְשׁ֖וֹ לְשָׁלָֽל׃
ὁ καθήμενος ἐν τῇ πόλει ταύτῃ ἀποθανεῖται ἐν μαχαίρᾳ καὶ ἐν λιμῷ καὶ ὁ ἐκπορευόμενος προσχωρῆσαι πρὸς τοὺς Χαλδαίους τοὺς συγκεκλεικότας ὑμᾶς ζήσεται καὶ ἔσται ἡ ψυχὴ αὐτοῦ εἰς σκῦλα καὶ ζήσεται
Qui habitaverit in urbe hac morietur gladio, et fame, et peste : qui autem egressus fuerit, et transfugerit ad Chaldaeos qui obsident vos, vivet, et erit ei anima sua quasi spolium.
ዘነበረ፡ ውስተ፡ ዛ፡ ሀገር፡ ይመውት፡ በኵናት፡ ወበብድብድ፡ ወበረኃብ።
He who remains in this city will die by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence, but he who goes out and passes over to the Chaldeans who besiege you, he will live, and he will escape with his life.
21:10
כִּ֣י שַׂ֣מְתִּי פָ֠נַי בָּעִ֨יר הַזֹּ֧את לְרָעָ֛ה וְלֹ֥א לְטוֹבָ֖ה נְאֻם־יְהֹוָ֑ה בְּיַד־מֶ֤לֶךְ בָּבֶל֙ תִּנָּתֵ֔ן וּשְׂרָפָ֖הּ בָּאֵֽשׁ׃ {ס}
διότι ἐστήρικα τὸ πρόσωπόν μου ἐπὶ τὴν πόλιν ταύτην εἰς κακὰ καὶ οὐκ εἰς ἀγαθά εἰς χεῖρας βασιλέως Βαβυλῶνος παραδοθήσεται καὶ κατακαύσει αὐτὴν ἐν πυρί
Posui enim faciem meam super civitatem hanc in malum, et non in bonum, ait Dominus : in manu regis Babylonis dabitur, et exuret eam igni.
እስመ፡ አጽናዕኩ፡ ገጽየ፡ ላዕለ፡ ዛ፡ ሀገር፡ ለእኩይ፡ ወአኮ፡ ለሠናይ።
For I have set my face on this city for evil, and not for good,” says Yahweh. “It will be given into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he will burn it with fire.”’
21:11
וּלְבֵית֙ מֶ֣לֶךְ יְהוּדָ֔ה שִׁמְע֖וּ דְּבַר־יְהֹוָֽה׃
ὁ οἶκος βασιλέως Ιουδα ἀκούσατε λόγον κυρίου
Et domui regis Juda : Audite verba Domini,
ስምዑ፡ ቃለ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ቤተ፡ ዳዊት።
“Concerning the house of the king of Judah, hear Yahweh’s word:
21:12
בֵּ֣ית דָּוִ֗ד כֹּ֚ה אָמַ֣ר יְהֹוָ֔ה דִּ֤ינוּ לַבֹּ֙קֶר֙ מִשְׁפָּ֔ט וְהַצִּ֥ילוּ גָז֖וּל מִיַּ֣ד עוֹשֵׁ֑ק פֶּן־תֵּצֵ֨א כָאֵ֜שׁ חֲמָתִ֗י וּבָֽעֲרָה֙ וְאֵ֣ין מְכַבֶּ֔ה מִפְּנֵ֖י רֹ֥עַ (מעלליהם) [מַעַלְלֵיכֶֽם]׃
οἶκος Δαυιδ τάδε λέγει κύριος κρίνατε τὸ πρωὶ κρίμα καὶ κατευθύνατε καὶ ἐξέλεσθε διηρπασμένον ἐκ χειρὸς ἀδικοῦντος αὐτόν ὅπως μὴ ἀναφθῇ ὡς πῦρ ἡ ὀργή μου καὶ καυθήσεται καὶ οὐκ ἔσται ὁ σβέσων
domus David. Haec dicit Dominus : Judicate mane judicium, et eruite vi oppressum de manu calumniantis, ne forte egrediatur ut ignis indignatio mea, et succendatur, et non sit qui extinguat, propter malitiam studiorum vestrorum.
ከመ፡ ዝ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር።
House of David, Yahweh says, ‘Execute justice in the morning, and deliver him who is robbed out of the hand of the oppressor, lest my wrath go out like fire, and burn so that no one can quench it, because of the evil of your doings.
21:13
הִנְנִ֨י אֵלַ֜יִךְ יֹשֶׁ֧בֶת הָעֵ֛מֶק צ֥וּר הַמִּישֹׁ֖ר נְאֻם־יְהֹוָ֑ה הָאֹֽמְרִים֙ מִֽי־יֵחַ֣ת עָלֵ֔ינוּ וּמִ֥י יָב֖וֹא בִּמְעוֹנוֹתֵֽינוּ׃
ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ πρὸς σὲ τὸν κατοικοῦντα τὴν κοιλάδα Σορ τὴν πεδινὴν τοὺς λέγοντας τίς πτοήσει ἡμᾶς ἢ τίς εἰσελεύσεται πρὸς τὸ κατοικητήριον ἡμῶν
Ecce ego ad te, habitatricem vallis solidae atque campestris, ait Dominus : qui dicitis : Quis percutiet nos ? et quis ingredietur domos nostras ?
ናሁ፡ አነ፡ ላዕሌከ፡ ዘትነብር፡ ውስተ፡ ቈላተ፡ ኰኵሕ፡ ወውስተ፡ ገዳም።
Behold, I am against you, O inhabitant of the valley, and of the rock of the plain,’ says Yahweh. ‘You that say, “Who would come down against us?” or, “Who would enter into our homes?”
21:14
וּפָקַדְתִּ֧י עֲלֵיכֶ֛ם כִּפְרִ֥י מַעַלְלֵיכֶ֖ם נְאֻם־יְהֹוָ֑ה וְהִצַּ֤תִּי אֵשׁ֙ בְּיַעְרָ֔הּ וְאָכְלָ֖ה כׇּל־סְבִיבֶֽיהָ׃
καὶ ἀνάψω πῦρ ἐν τῷ δρυμῷ αὐτῆς καὶ ἔδεται πάντα τὰ κύκλῳ αὐτῆς
Et visitabo super vos juxta fructum studiorum vestrorum, dicit Dominus : et succendam ignem in saltu ejus, et devorabit omnia in circuitu ejus.
ወእዋኅያ፡ ለኀጢአትክሙ፡ በከመ፡ ፍሬ፡ ምግባሪክሙ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር።
I will punish you according to the fruit of your doings,’ says Yahweh; ‘and I will kindle a fire in her forest, and it will devour all that is around her.’”
