📖 This chapter exists in 3 other originals — side by side (Hebrew Old Testament, Vulgate, Ge'ez Bible)
ℹ️ This corpus has no verse-level morphological tagging. Lemmas come mainly from word-level tagging of other books in the same language (not from this verse), falling back to dictionary form-matching for the rest. Rare homographs can still be misread; verify against the original and a specialist lexicon where precision matters.
ℹ️ The Chinese and English alongside are this site's own translation, made directly from the original text on this page (not the CUV or the WEB, which follow the Masoretic Text and a different textual tradition).

And when Balaam saw that it was good before the Lord to bless Israel, he did not go according to his custom to meet the omens, but turned his face towards the wilderness.
A man shall come forth from his seed, and shall rule over many nations; and his kingdom shall be exalted above Gog, and his kingdom shall be increased.
God led him out of Egypt; he has as it were the glory of a unicorn. He shall devour the nations of his enemies, and shall drain the marrow of their fat, and with his darts he shall shoot through the enemy.
He lay down and rested as a lion, and as a lion cub; who shall rouse him? Those who bless you have been blessed, and those who curse you have been cursed.
And Balak was angry with Balaam, and clapped his hands together, and Balak said to Balaam, I called you to curse my enemy, and behold, you have blessed him with blessing these three times.
If Balak should give me his house full of silver and gold, I shall not be able to transgress the word of the Lord, to make it evil or good of myself; whatever God says, that I will speak.
I shall point him out, but not now; I count him blessed, but he does not draw near. A star shall rise out of Jacob, and a man shall rise up out of Israel; and he shall crush the rulers of Moab, and shall plunder all the sons of Seth.
And one shall come forth from the hand of the Kitians, and they shall afflict Assour, and shall afflict the Hebrews; and they themselves shall perish together.
