μυῖαι θανατοῦσαι σαπριοῦσιν σκευασίαν ἐλαίου ἡδύσματος τίμιον ὀλίγον σοφίας ὑπὲρ δόξαν ἀφροσύνης μεγάλης
致死的蒼蠅使調香的膏油腐臭;一點智慧比極大愚昧的榮耀更寶貴。
Deadly flies spoil a preparation of fragrant oil; a little wisdom is more precious than the glory of great folly.

καρδία σοφοῦ εἰς δεξιὸν αὐτοῦ καὶ καρδία ἄφρονος εἰς ἀριστερὸν αὐτοῦ
智慧人的心偏向右,愚昧人的心偏向左。
The heart of the wise is at his right, and the heart of the fool is at his left.
10:3▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
καί γε ἐν ὁδῷ ὅταν ἄφρων πορεύηται καρδία αὐτοῦ ὑστερήσει καὶ ἃ λογιεῖται πάντα ἀφροσύνη ἐστίν
並且愚昧人行路的時候,他的心就缺乏;凡他所思想的都是愚昧。
And also when a fool walks on the way, his heart is lacking, and all that he thinks is folly.

ἐὰν πνεῦμα τοῦ ἐξουσιάζοντος ἀναβῇ ἐπὶ σέ τόπον σου μὴ ἀφῇς ὅτι ἴαμα καταπαύσει ἁμαρτίας μεγάλας
掌權者的怒氣若向你發作,不要離開你的本位,因為醫治能平息大罪。
If the spirit of the ruler rises up against you, do not leave your place, for healing will put great sins to rest.

ἔστιν πονηρία ἣν εἶδον ὑπὸ τὸν ἥλιον ὡς ἀκούσιον ὃ ἐξῆλθεν ἀπὸ προσώπου τοῦ ἐξουσιάζοντος
我見日光之下有一件禍患,好像出於掌權者面前的一件無心之失。
There is an evil that I saw under the sun, like an unintended thing that went out from before the ruler.

ἐδόθη ὁ ἄφρων ἐν ὕψεσι μεγάλοις καὶ πλούσιοι ἐν ταπεινῷ καθήσονται
愚昧人被安置在高位,富足人卻坐在低處。
The fool was set in great heights, while the rich sit in a low place.

εἶδον δούλους ἐφ’ ἵππους καὶ ἄρχοντας πορευομένους ὡς δούλους ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς
我見僕人騎馬,首領卻像僕人在地上步行。
I saw slaves on horses, and rulers walking on the ground like slaves.

ὁ ὀρύσσων βόθρον ἐν αὐτῷ ἐμπεσεῖται καὶ καθαιροῦντα φραγμόν δήξεται αὐτὸν ὄφις
挖陷坑的,必掉在其中;拆牆垣的,必有蛇咬他。
He who digs a pit will fall into it, and a serpent will bite him who tears down a wall.

ἐξαίρων λίθους διαπονηθήσεται ἐν αὐτοῖς σχίζων ξύλα κινδυνεύσει ἐν αὐτοῖς
鑿石頭的,必因石頭受苦;劈木頭的,必因木頭遭險。
He who quarries stones will be hurt by them; he who splits logs will be endangered by them.

ἐὰν ἐκπέσῃ τὸ σιδήριον καὶ αὐτὸς πρόσωπον ἐτάραξεν καὶ δυνάμεις δυναμώσει καὶ περισσεία τοῦ ἀνδρείου σοφία
鐵器若脫落,他又攪動了刃面,就必多加力量;智慧卻是勇者的益處。
If the iron tool falls off, and he has disturbed its face, then he will have to summon more strength; and wisdom is the advantage of the valiant.
10:11▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ἐὰν δάκῃ ὁ ὄφις ἐν οὐ ψιθυρισμῷ καὶ οὐκ ἔστιν περισσεία τῷ ἐπᾴδοντι
蛇若在未行法術之先咬人,行法術的就毫無益處。
If the serpent bites when there is no charming, then there is no advantage to the charmer.

λόγοι στόματος σοφοῦ χάρις καὶ χείλη ἄφρονος καταποντιοῦσιν αὐτόν
智慧人口中的話是恩惠;愚昧人的嘴唇卻要把他淹沒。
The words of a wise man's mouth are grace, but the lips of a fool will drown him.

ἀρχὴ λόγων στόματος αὐτοῦ ἀφροσόνη καὶ ἐσχάτη στόματος αὐτοῦ περιφέρεια πονηρά
他口中言語的開端是愚昧,他口中話語的結局是惡毒的狂妄。
The beginning of the words of his mouth is folly, and the end of his mouth is evil madness.

καὶ ὁ ἄφρων πληθύνει λόγους οὐκ ἔγνω ὁ ἄνθρωπος τί τὸ γενόμενον καὶ τί τὸ ἐσόμενον ὀπίσω αὐτοῦ τίς ἀναγγελεῖ αὐτῷ
愚昧人多有言語。人不知道已經發生的事;至於他身後將要發生的事,誰能告訴他呢?
And the fool multiplies words. Man does not know what has been, and what is to be after him, who shall tell him?
10:15▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
μόχθος τῶν ἀφρόνων κοπώσει αὐτούς ὃς οὐκ ἔγνω τοῦ πορευθῆναι εἰς πόλιν
愚昧人的勞碌使自己困乏,因為他連進城的路也不知道。
The toil of fools will weary them, for he does not know how to go to a city.

οὐαί σοι πόλις ἧς ὁ βασιλεύς σου νεώτερος καὶ οἱ ἄρχοντές σου ἐν πρωίᾳ ἐσθίουσιν
城啊,你有禍了!你的王年幼,你的首領清早就宴樂。
Woe to you, city, whose king is young, and whose rulers eat in the morning.
10:17▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
μακαρία σύ γῆ ἧς ὁ βασιλεύς σου υἱὸς ἐλευθέρων καὶ οἱ ἄρχοντές σου πρὸς καιρὸν φάγονται ἐν δυνάμει καὶ οὐκ αἰσχυνθήσονται
地啊,你有福了!你的王是自由人的兒子,你的首領按時吃喝,是為得力量,不至羞愧。
Blessed are you, land, whose king is a son of free men, and whose rulers eat at the proper time, for strength, and will not be put to shame.
10:18▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ἐν ὀκνηρίαις ταπεινωθήσεται ἡ δόκωσις καὶ ἐν ἀργίᾳ χειρῶν στάξει ἡ οἰκία
因人懶惰,房頂就塌下;因手閒懶,房屋就滴漏。
Through slothfulness the roofing sinks down, and through idleness of the hands the house leaks.
10:19▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
εἰς γέλωτα ποιοῦσιν ἄρτον καὶ οἶνος εὐφραίνει ζῶντας καὶ τοῦ ἀργυρίου ἐπακούσεται σὺν τὰ πάντα
人設擺筵席是為歡笑,酒使活人快樂,錢財也應付萬事。
They make bread for laughter, and wine gladdens the living, and money answers all things.
10:20▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
καί γε ἐν συνειδήσει σου βασιλέα μὴ καταράσῃ καὶ ἐν ταμιείοις κοιτώνων σου μὴ καταράσῃ πλούσιον ὅτι πετεινὸν τοῦ οὐρανοῦ ἀποίσει σὺν τὴν φωνήν καὶ ὁ ἔχων τὰς πτέρυγας ἀπαγγελεῖ λόγον
你不可在心思意念中咒詛君王,也不可在臥房內室咒詛富人;因為空中的飛鳥必把這聲音傳去,有翅膀的必述說這話。
And also in your thought do not curse a king, and in your bedchambers do not curse a rich man; for a bird of heaven will carry the sound away, and the one that has wings will report the matter.
