And a sword shall come upon the Egyptians, and there shall be tumult in Ethiopia; and the slain shall fall in Egypt, and her foundations shall collapse together.
And the supports of Egypt shall fall, and the pride of her strength shall come down; from Magdolos to Syene they shall fall by the sword in her, says the Lord.
In that day messengers shall go forth hastening to destroy Ethiopia, and there shall be tumult among them in the day of Egypt; for behold, it has come.
His and his people's — pestilent men from the nations, sent to destroy the land; and they shall all draw their swords against Egypt, and the land shall be filled with the slain.
And in Taphnas the day shall be darkened, when I break there the sceptres of Egypt; and there the pride of her strength shall perish, and a cloud shall cover her, and her daughters shall be led away captive.
Son of man, I have broken the arms of Pharaoh king of Egypt; and behold, it has not been bound up so as to give healing, to lay a plaster upon it, to give strength to take hold of a sword.
Therefore thus says the Lord, the Lord: Behold, I am against Pharaoh king of Egypt, and I will break his arms, the strong ones and the outstretched ones, and I will cast down his sword out of his hand.
And I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, and I will put my sword into his hand, and he shall bring it upon Egypt, and shall plunder her plunder and spoil her spoil.
And I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, but the arms of Pharaoh shall fall; and they shall know that I am the Lord, when I put my sword into the hands of the king of Babylon, and he stretches it out over the land of Egypt.
