📖 This chapter exists in 3 other originals — side by side (Hebrew Old Testament, Vulgate, Ge'ez Bible)
ℹ️ This corpus has no verse-level morphological tagging. Lemmas come mainly from word-level tagging of other books in the same language (not from this verse), falling back to dictionary form-matching for the rest. Rare homographs can still be misread; verify against the original and a specialist lexicon where precision matters.
ℹ️ The Chinese and English alongside are this site's own translation, made directly from the original text on this page (not the CUV or the WEB, which follow the Masoretic Text and a different textual tradition).

And Saul said to the one who carried his armor, Draw your sword and run me through with it, lest these uncircumcised come and mock me. But the one who carried his armor would not, for he was very much afraid. So Saul took the sword and fell upon it.
And every man of Israel who was in the valley saw that Israel had fled and that Saul and his sons were dead, and they abandoned their cities and fled; and the Philistines came and settled in them.
And they stripped him and took his head and his armor, and sent them into the land of the Philistines round about, to bring the good news to their idols and to the people.
And every mighty man arose from Galaad and took the body of Saul and the bodies of his sons, and brought them to Jabis, and buried their bones under the oak in Jabis, and fasted seven days.
And Saul died in his lawless deeds by which he acted lawlessly against the Lord, according to the word of the Lord, because he did not keep it; and because Saul inquired of a ventriloquist to seek guidance, and Samuel the prophet answered him.
