Job 25

Latin original · 6 verses · some words can be tapped for a gloss

← ch. 24ch. 26 →
📖 This chapter exists in 3 other originals — side by side (Hebrew Old Testament, Septuagint, Ge'ez Bible)
ℹ️ This corpus has no morphological tagging. Glosses are matched by word form against a dictionary — a match does not prove it is the same word (an inflected form can coincide with another word’s lemma). Verify against the original and a specialist lexicon where precision matters.
⚠️ The Chinese and English alongside are the CUV and the WEB, both translated from the Masoretic Text; they follow a different textual tradition from the Greek and Latin shown here and will disagree in places.

25:1
Respondens autem Baldad Suhites, dixit :
Then Bildad the Shuhite answered,
書亞人比勒達回答說:
25:2
Potestas et terror apud eum est, qui facit concordiam in sublimibus suis.
“Dominion and fear are with him. He makes peace in his high places.
上帝有治理之權,有威嚴可畏; 他在高處施行和平。
25:3
Numquid est numerus militum ejus ? et super quem non surget lumen illius ?
Can his armies be counted? On whom does his light not arise?
他的諸軍豈能數算? 他的光亮一發,誰不蒙照呢?
25:4
Numquid justificari potest homo comparatus Deo ? aut apparere mundus natus de muliere ?
How then can man be just with God? Or how can he who is born of a woman be clean?
這樣在上帝面前,人怎能稱義? 婦人所生的怎能潔淨?
25:5
Ecce luna etiam non splendet, et stellae non sunt mundae in conspectu ejus :
Behold, even the moon has no brightness, and the stars are not pure in his sight;
在上帝眼前,月亮也無光亮, 星宿也不清潔。
25:6
quanto magis homo putredo, et filius hominis vermis ?
How much less man, who is a worm, and the son of man, who is a worm!”
何況如蟲的人, 如蛆的世人呢!
