← ch. 5ch. 7 →
📖 This chapter exists in 3 other originals — side by side (Hebrew Old Testament, Vulgate, Ge'ez Bible)
ℹ️ This corpus has no verse-level morphological tagging. Lemmas come mainly from word-level tagging of other books in the same language (not from this verse), falling back to dictionary form-matching for the rest. Rare homographs can still be misread; verify against the original and a specialist lexicon where precision matters.
ℹ️ The Chinese and English alongside are this site's own translation, made directly from the original text on this page (not the CUV or the WEB, which follow the Masoretic Text and a different textual tradition).

6:1
Let us go and return to the Lord our God, for he has torn, and he will heal us; he will strike, and he will bind us up.
He will make us whole after two days; on the third day we shall rise up and live before him.
And we shall know; we shall pursue to know the Lord. We shall find him ready as the dawn, and he will come to us like rain, early and late rain for the land.
What shall I do to you, Ephraim? What shall I do to you, Judah? For your mercy is like a morning cloud and like the early dew that goes away.
Therefore I mowed down your prophets; I killed them with the words of my mouth, and my judgment shall go forth as light.
For I desire mercy and not sacrifice, and knowledge of God rather than whole burnt offerings.
But they are like a man transgressing a covenant; there he despised me.
Galaad is a city that works vain things, troubling water.
And your strength is that of a robber. Priests hid the way of the Lord; they murdered at Sikima, because they committed lawlessness.
In the house of Israel I saw horrible things; there is the whoredom of Ephraim; Israel and Judah were defiled.
Begin to gather a vintage for yourself, when I restore the captivity of my people.
