~109~ And God heard the prayer of Isaac and Jacob, and God put great fear and awe in the hearts of all these kings' advisers to say this with one voice. You are the fools today if you do not have wisdom because you will fight with the Hebrews, and why did you wish for all of you to die today. Here two of them came to the city of Nablus with no awe and fear, and they killed all the inhabitants of the city and no one stood before them, and how can you fight with all of them. And did you not know that their God desired them very much and would do terrible things to them that had not been done since ancient times, and none of the Gods of the nations could do such terrible things. And didn't he save Abraham, their Hebrew father, from Nimrod and from all his people, who sought to kill him many times. He also saved him from the fire that King Nimrod threw him into, and his God saved him from it, and who can do all these things. Abraham, their father, is the one who killed the five kings of Elam, because of their harm to his brother's son who was living in Sodom in those days. And he took his faithful servant in his house and a few of his men, and they chased after the kings of Elam in one night and killed them all, and his brother's son returned all his property that they had taken from him. And did you not know that the God of these Hebrews desired them very much, and they also desired him very much because they knew that he had saved them from all their enemies. And behold, in their love for their God, Abraham took his only son and his donkey, and said to bring him up to his God. And thanks to his God who prevented him from doing that thing, then they did it, out of love for his God. And his God saw all his deeds and swore to him and promised him that he would save his sons and all his descendants from any trouble that would come upon them, for which he did this thing for which he had no mercy on his son out of the love of his God. And have you not heard what their God did to Pharaoh, king of Egypt, and to Abimelech, king of Gerar, by taking Abraham's wife. What he said about her is my sister because he was afraid that they would kill him for her, and they said that he would take her as a wife and his God would do to them and their people all that you have heard. And here we saw with our own eyes that Esau my brother Jacob came to him and four hundred men with him and said to destroy him, because he remembered that he had taken his blessing from the hand of their father and went to meet him when he came from Padan Aram to kill him a mother of sons. And who saved him from his hand, not his God, in whom he trusted, saved him from his brother's hand, and even from his enemies, he could not save him.
And who knows that their God is the one who strengthened the two sons of Jacob to do to the city of Nablus the evil that you heard about. With their bravery, the two of them could kill a big city like Nablus, if not for their God, in whom they trusted, he who did all this for them, to kill all the inhabitants of the city in their city. And even you who have all left your city together and come to fight with all of them, you will be able to defeat them even if they gather to your aid a thousand times like you. Don't you know or won't you hear that you did not come to fight with them, but with their God who chose them you came to fight and you will come to perish all of you today. And now stop this evil that you wanted to do to your souls and it is good for you, because you will not be able to fight them even if they never say that their God is with them. And it came to pass when the kings of the Amorites heard all the words of their advisers, and their hearts were filled with fear and awe of the sons of Jacob, and they did not fear to fight them. And also to the words of their advisers they inclined their ears and listened to all their words, and the words of the advisers were very good in the eyes of the kings and they did so. And these kings returned and ceased to be over the sons of Jacob because they could not approach them to fight because they would be afraid of them, and their hearts melted in their midst because they saw them. Because it was from God to them, because God heard the prayer of Isaac and Jacob his servants because they trusted in him. And all these kings returned with their camp, each to his city on that day, and they did not fight the sons of Jacob at that time. And the sons of Jacob stood in their position against Mount Zion that day until the evening, and they saw that these kings did not come to meet them, and the sons of Jacob returned them to their place. At that time God appeared to Jacob and said, Get up, go up to Bethel and sit there, and make an altar there to the God who appears to you, who saves you and all your children from trouble. And Jacob arose, and his sons, and all that belonged to him, and went up and came to Bethel, according to the word of God.
~111~ And Jacob was ninety-nine years old and owned Beth El. And Jacob and his sons and all the people who were with him sat in the house of Beloz, and there Jacob built an altar to the Lord who appeared to him. And Jacob and his sons dwelt in Bethel for days and six months. At that time, Deborah daughter of Oz died nursing Rebekah, who was with Jacob, and buried Jacob under the house under the oak that was there. And also Rivkah daughter of Bethuel if Jacob died at that time in Hebron, Kiryat Ha'Arba, and was buried in the cave of Machpelah which Avraham bought from the sons of Hat. And the life of Rebekah will be one hundred and thirty years and three years and she died. And Jacob heard that his mother Rebekah had died, and he wept greatly for his mother, and he made a great obituary for her, and Deborah nursed her under the oak, and called that place Alon Bekot. And the Syrian son died in those days because God struck him, on whom he broke the covenant that was between him and Jacob. And Jacob was a son of one year, and God looked upon him and blessed him, and called his name Israel. And Rachel, Jacob's wife, conceived in those days. And Jacob and all that he had at that time traveled from Bethel to come to Yitzchak his father in Hebron. And they went along the way and there was another burial ground to come to Ephrath and Rachel gave birth to a son, and she had difficulty in giving birth and died. And Jacob was buried on the Euphrates road in Bethlehem, and a tombstone was placed over her burial to this day. And the days of Rachel were five and forty years, and she died. And Jacob called the name of his son born to him whom Rachel bore Binyamin, because he was born in the land of the right. And it came to pass after Rachel's death, that Jacob made his tent in the tent of Leah her servant. And Reuben was jealous of his mother Leah for this, and he was filled with heat. And he arose in his anger and went and came to the tent of Belaha, and removed his father's couch from there. At that time, the birthright, the kingship, and the priesthood were taken away from the sons of Reuben because he had dishonored his father's deeds, and the birthright would be given to Joseph and the kingdom to Judah and the priesthood to Levi because Reuben had dishonored his father's deeds.
~112~ And these are the accounts of Jacob who were born to him in Padan Aram, and there will be twelve sons of Jacob. Leah's sons, Reuben the eldest, Shimon, Levi, Yehuda, Issachar, Zebulun, and Dinah their sister. and Rachel's sons, Yosef and Benjamin. And the sons of Zelpa, Leah's maidservant, Gad and Asher. And the sons of Belha, Rachel's slave, Dan and Naphtali - these are the sons of Jacob who will be born to him in Padan Aram. And Jacob traveled with his sons and all that he had and came from Mera Kiryat Arba, which is in Hebron, where Abraham and Isaac lived, and Jacob and his sons and all that he had dwelt with Isaac his father in Hebron. And Esau his brothers and his sons and all that belonged to him went to the land of Seir and dwelt there, and they occupied the land of Seir and cultivated and multiplied the sons of Esau in the land of Seir. And these are the histories of Esau who were born to him in the land of Canaan, and there were five sons of Esau. And Ada bore Esau his firstborn Eliphaz. And Shemat gave birth to him Reuel. And Ahlibama bore him Yaish and Yalam and Korach - these are the sons of Esau who will be born to him in the land of Canaan. And there will be sons of Eliphaz son of Esau, Yemen says Zefo and Gatam and Kenez and Amalek. And the sons of Reuel, Nacht and Zarakh from there and from it. And the sons of Ya'ish, you shall avoid a leaf. And the sons of Yelam, Ella and Pigon and Kenz. And the sons of Korah, Yemen, the fortress of Magdiel, their city -- these are the families of the sons of Esau, their champions in the land of Seir. And these are the names of the sons of Seir Hori, the inhabitants of the land of Seir, Lotan, Shovel, Zebon, and Ona. And Dishon and Atzer and Dishon, seven sons. And the sons of Lotan, Hori, and Himem, and their sister Minna. She will stop, who came to Jacob and his sons and they did not listen to her, and she will go and be the concubine of Eliphaz son of Esau, and she will give birth to Amalek. And Beni Shovel, Alon and Minchat and Ibal Shepo and Onam. And the sons of Zebon, Aya and Anah, he is Anan who found the days in the desert of the nations in his care the donkeys of his father Zebon. And it happened that he was shepherding the donkeys for his father, and he led them through the wilderness from time to time to graze them. And it came to pass today that he led them to a desert on the shore of the Red Sea opposite the desert of the nations, and he was shepherding there, and behold a very strong storm wind came from across the sea and rested on the donkeys grazing there and they all stopped. After that, about twenty hundred large and terrible animals came out from across the sea from the desert and they all came to the place of the donkeys and stationed themselves there. And the wild animals shoot down and down like humans and shoot up and down like bears and like monkeys, and they have rear tails from between their shoulders and down to the ground like the tail of a fox.
~113~ And these animals came and mounted and rode on those donkeys and fed them all, and they went with them until this day. And one of the animals came up in front of him and bit him with her tail, and he ran away from that place. And he feared this act and he feared very much for his soul, and he fled and escaped and won his hair. And he told his father and his brothers all that had happened, and many people went to look for the donkeys and did not find them. And he did not add any more to Anam and his brothers to go to that place from that day on, because they would be very concerned about their souls. And the sons of Anah ben Sha'ir, Dishon and Ahlibama his sister. And the sons of Dishon, Utz, and Aran -- these are the families of the sons of Sheir Hori for their champions in the land of Sheir. And Esau and his sons dwelt in the land of Seir Hori, the inhabitants of the land, and they took hold of it and multiplied and multiplied greatly. And Jacob and his sons and all that belonged to them dwelt with Isaac in the land of Canaan, as God commanded their father Abraham. And it came to pass in the hundred and fifth year of Jacob's life, it is the ninth year that Jacob and his sons sabbath in the land of Canaan when they came from Padan Aram. And Jacob and his sons traveled in those days from Hebron and went and returned to the city of Nablus, they and all that they had and dwelt there. Because the sons of Jacob found for them in the city of Nablus very good pasture and oil for their cattle, and the city of Nablus was built at that time and there were about three hundred men and women in it. And Jacob and his sons and all that belonged to them came and settled in the field that Jacob had bought from Hamor the father of Nablus when he came from Padan Aram before Shimon and Levi struck the city. And all these kings, the kings of the Canaanites and the Amorites who are around the city of Nablus, heard that the sons of Jacob had come to Nablus and dwelt there. And they said, "The other sons of Jacob, the Hebrews, will come to the city and live there, after they have smitten its inhabitants and will be recorded; now they will return and inherit also those who live in the city and kill them." And all the kings of Canaan will gather again and they will all come together to fight with Jacob and his sons. And King Tupuh returned to all the kings around him, to Elon, king of Geash, and to Ihori, king of Shiloh, and to Pharaoh, king of Hazor, and to Sosi, king of Cancer, and to Laban, king of Bat Horon, and to Shakir, king of Mahanima. Come up to me and help me, and I will kill Jacob the Hebrew and his sons and all who belong to him, because they have come to inherit it and kill its inhabitants as the first.
~114~ And they will gather together and all these kings will come in all their camps with a very blue rabbi who is on the shore of the sea, and they will all camp against Tupuh. And the king of Tupuh went back to them with all his army, and he joined them against Tupuh outside the city. And all these kings were divided into seven parts, into seven camps over the sons of Jacob. And they sent a book to Jacob and his sons to say. Come to us, all of you, and we will see each other face to face on the plain, and we will avenge the vengeance of the people of Nablus whom you killed in their city. And add now and return to the city of Nablus and settle in it to kill all its people for the first time. And the sons of Jacob heard this thing, and they were greatly disgusted by the words of the kings of Canaan. And they hastened and all the ten sons of Jacob stood up and each one girded on his weapons of war, and with them a hundred and twelve men of their slaves wearing weapons of war. And all these people, the sons of Jacob, went with their servants to meet all those kings, and their father Jacob was with them, and they all stood in Tel Shechem. And Jacob prayed on behalf of his sons to the Lord, and spread his hands to the Lord and said: Lord God, you are the God who is enough for our father, you and you made us and we are the work of your hands, please save my children in your mercy from the hands of their enemies who are coming to fight them today and save them from their hand, for in your hand is the power and the might to save the few from the many. And you gave your servants, my sons, strength of heart and courage to fight against their enemies, to subjugate them under their hand, and you cast down all their enemies before them, and my sons and my servants shall not die by the hand of Canaan. But if it is good in your eyes to take the lives of my sons and my servants, please take them into the hands of your angels in your great mercy, and they will not die today at the hands of the kings of the Amorites. And it came to pass as Jacob's bride prayed to God, that the earth shook from its place, and the sun was darkened, and all these kings were frightened, and a great commotion came upon them. And the Lord heard Jacob's prayer, and the Lord gave fear to the sons of Jacob and exalted him in the hearts of all the kings and in the hearts of their armies. Because God made them hear the sound of a chariot and the sound of a tremendous horse from the sons of Jacob, and the sound of a heavy camp with them. And these kings saw a great awe from the sons of Jacob, and they were standing in their position, and behold, the sons of Jacob came upon them with a hundred and twelve men with a huge and heavy voice.
And when all these kings saw the sons of Jacob coming toward them, their fear increased within their hearts, and they thought to turn back from the sons of Jacob as before, so as not to fight with them. But they did not turn back, for they said, Behold, it is a disgrace to us to flee twice before the Hebrews. And the sons of Jacob drew near and approached against all these kings and their camps, and they looked, and behold, a vast people, as numerous as the sand of the sea. And the sons of Jacob cried out to the Lord and said, Save us, O Lord, save us and answer us, for in you we have trusted, and let us not die by the hand of the uncircumcised who come against us this day. And the sons of Jacob girded on their weapons of war, and they took the shields in their hands, and each man his lance in his hand, and they drew near to fight. And Judah the son of Jacob ran first before his brothers, and ten men of his servants with him, and he went toward these kings. And Jashub the king of Tappuah, he too came out first with his army toward Judah. And Judah saw Jashub and his army coming out first toward him, and Judah's anger burned greatly and his wrath blazed within him, and he drew near to fight, and Judah gave up his life to die. And Jashub and all his army kept advancing toward Judah, and he was riding upon a horse exceedingly strong and mighty. And Jashub was a man of valor, and he was covered from his head to his feet with iron and brass. And he shot arrows with both his hands from upon the horse, before him and behind him, as was his custom in all his battles, and he did not miss the place at which he aimed the arrows. And when Jashub came to fight with Judah, he shot many arrows at Judah, but the Lord bound the hand of Jashub, and all the arrows that he shot returned upon his own men. And in spite of this Jashub kept advancing and drawing near before Judah to strike him with arrows, yet there was a distance between the two of them, about thirty cubits. And Judah saw Jashub shooting arrows before him, and Judah ran toward him in the fury of his strength. And Judah lifted up a great stone from the ground, and its weight was about sixty shekels, and Judah ran toward Jashub and struck him with that stone upon his shield, and Jashub was confounded by the blow and fell from the horse to the ground. And the shield was torn from the hand of Jashub, and from the force of that blow he was thrown about fifteen cubits, and the shield fell before the second camp. And the kings who had come with Jashub saw from afar the might of Judah the son of Jacob and what he had done to Jashub, and they were greatly terrified before Judah. And all the camp of Jashub fled before Judah, and no man stood against him, and they forsook Jashub and fled from him while Jashub was still fallen on the ground. And Jashub saw that all the men of his camp had fled from him, and he hurried and rose up in haste toward Judah, and stood upon his feet facing Judah. And Jashub set battle against Judah alone, and set his shield against his shield, and the men of Jashub had all fled because they greatly feared Judah. And Jashub hurled the lance in his hand and struck Judah upon his head, and Judah hurried and set his shield upon his head against the lance of Jashub. And the shield of Judah received the blow of Jashub's lance, and it was cut into two. And Judah saw that his shield was cut off, and he hurried and drew his sword and struck Jashub upon the ankle of his feet and cut off his feet, and Jashub fell to the ground, and the lance fell from his hand. And Judah hurried and took up the lance of Jashub and with it cut off his head, and cast it down beside his feet. And when all the sons of Jacob saw what Judah had done to Jashub, they all ran to the ranks of those kings. And the sons of Jacob fought against the camp of Jashub and against the camps of all the kings who were there. And the sons of Jacob felled of them fifteen thousand men, and they smote them as one smites gourds, and the rest fled for their lives. And Judah was still standing over the corpse of Jashub, and he stripped the armor of Jashub from off him, and also the iron and the brass that were upon Jashub, Judah stripped off. And behold, nine of his men, the captains of Jashub, came against Judah to fight with him. And Judah hurried and took a stone from the ground and struck one of them with it upon his head, and his head was split, and half of it fell upon the horse, and the body also fell from the horse to the ground. And the eight remaining captains saw the might of Judah, and they were greatly afraid and fled. And Judah pursued after them with his ten men, and they overtook them and slew them. And the sons of Jacob were still smiting in the camps of the kings, and they slew many of them, and many of them fled. But these kings stood firm in their own persons with all their captains in their place and did not flee from their position, and they cried out to all their camps that were fleeing before the sons of Jacob, but none would hearken to them, for they greatly feared for their lives lest they die. And all the sons of Jacob returned, after smiting in the camps of the kings, and they came before Judah, while Judah was still slaying the eight captains of Jashub and stripping their garments. And Levi saw Aijalon king of Geshur advancing and drawing near against him with his fourteen captains to strike him, and Levi did not know it. And Aijalon advanced further with his captains, and Levi turned behind him and looked, and behold, the battle was at his rear. And Levi ran with twelve of his servants, and they went and slew Aijalon and his captains with the edge of the sword.
~117~ And Ihori the king of Shiloh went to help Elon in front of Jacob, and Jacob drew the bow in his hand and shot Ihori with an arrow and killed him. And it came to pass when Ihori the king of Shiloh died, and the four remaining kings fled with the rest of their ministers from their position. And they sought to escape from them and said, We have no more valor with the Hebrews after they have killed the three kings and their ministers who are stronger than him. And the sons of Jacob when they saw that the remaining kings were cut off from their position, and they chased after them. And the sons of Jacob came out from the hill of Nablus from the place where they were standing there, and followed the kings and approached them with their servants. And the kings and all the ministers left their camp and saw that the sons of Jacob approached them, and they feared for their souls and fled and fled and went as far as the city of Hazor. And the sons of Jacob pursued them as far as the gate of the city of Hazor, and they smote these kings and their camp with a great blow, about four thousand men. And they struck the camp of the kings, and Jacob drew another bow and struck the kings alone and killed them all. And he killed Pharaoh king of Hazor at the gate of the city of Hazor, and after that he struck the horses of the king of Cancer and Laban the king of Beit Horon and Shakir the king of Hanimah and killed them all with arrows one by one and they died. And they added the sons of Jacob and made war with the camp of these kings against the gate of Hazor. And the camps saw that all their kings had died and were broken and turned their backs to Nous, and the sons of Jacob killed about four hundred more of them. And three men fell from the sons of Jacob in that war. And Judah saw that three of his slaves had died, and he was very sorry, and his anger burned in him against the Amorites. And all the people who remain from the kings' camp will fear for their souls, and will run and break the gate of the city wall of Hazor, and they will all come inside the city to escape. And they will all hide inside the city of Hazor, because the city of Hazor is very, very large and spacious. And when all these camps came within the city, and the sons of Jacob ran after them into the city. And there came out of the city four heroes learned in war and stood against the city gate with their drawn swords and their spears in their hands, and they stood in front of the sons of Jacob and they could not come into the city. And Naphtali ran to them and came among them and struck two of them with his sword, cutting off their heads at once. And he turned to the other two and they tried, and he chased after them and caught them and killed them.
~118~ And the sons of Jacob came to the city and saw another wall to the city, and they looked for the gate of the wall and did not find it. And Judah leaped and climbed the wall of the wall, and Shimon and Levi went up after him, and all three went down over the wall into the city. And Shimon and Levi killed all the people who fled into the city, and also all the inhabitants of the city and their wives and their wives they killed by the sword. And the cry of the heavenly city went up, and Dan and Naftali jumped over the wall to see what the sound of the cry was because the sons of Jacob would look at their brothers. And they heard the voice of the inhabitants of the city speaking in tears and supplications, saying, Here is what we have in the city, take and go, but the dead do not kill us. And it came to pass that Judah and his brothers were ready to strike all the inhabitants of the city, and they went up on the wall and called to Dan and Naphtali who were on the wall to the rest of their brothers. And Shimon and Levi announced to them the gate of the city, and all the sons of Jacob came to the city to take all the spoil. And the sons of Jacob took all the spoil of the city of Hazor, the sheep, the cattle, and the goods, and they returned the rest of the spoil, and left the city that day. And it came to pass on the second day, that the sons of Jacob went to Sartana, because they heard that the cancer men who had remained in the city had gathered in the city to fight with them for having killed their king. And Sartan was a very high and shapely city, and it had a deep wall around the city. And the depth of the corps was about fifty cubits and its width about forty cubits, and there was no place for anyone to come into the city from the front of the corps. And the sons of Jacob saw the army of the city and looked for a way through it, but did not find it, because the city's way was behind it. And every person who came to the city came from that road and went around the whole city, and then came to the city. And the sons of Jacob were afraid because they did not find the way to the city, and their noses were very bitter. And the inhabitants of the city were alarmed because the sons of Jacob had come to them, and they were very afraid of them because they had heard what they had done to the city of Hazor. And the inhabitants of the city of Cancer could not go out to meet the sons of Jacob after they had gathered in the city to fight them, because they would come to the city. But when they saw that they had come to them, they would be very afraid of their faces, because they had heard of their prowess and what they had done to Hazar. And the inhabitants of Cancer hastened and carried the bridge through the city from its place before the sons of Jacob came, and brought it inside the city. And the sons of Jacob came and sought the road to the city and did not find it. And the inhabitants of the city went up over the wall, and saw and behold the sons of Jacob asking for the entrance to the city. And the inhabitants of the city insulted the sons of Jacob on top of the wall and cursed them, and the sons of Jacob heard the insult and their noses became very angry and their anger burned in them.
~119~ And the sons of Jacob came upon them and stood up and all of them leaped over the army with the strength of their valor, and they crossed the forty cubits width of the army with their valor. And as they passed the army, they stood under the city wall, and found all the city gates closed with iron doors. And the sons of Jacob went to break down the doors of the city gate, and the inhabitants of the city did not leave because they would throw stones and arrows at them from above the wall. And the number of the people who were on the wall was about four hundred people. And the sons of Jacob saw that the people of the city did not leave to open the city gates, so they jumped and climbed the wall of the wall, and Judah went up first to the east of the city. And Gad and Asher went up after him from the gate of the city of Yama, and Shimon and Levi to the north, and Dan and Reuben of the Negev. And the people who were above the wall, the inhabitants of the city saw that the sons of Jacob had come up to them, and they all fled over the wall and went down into the city and hid in the city. And Issachar and Naphtali who remained under the wall came and broke down the city gates and kindled a fire in the city gates and melted the iron, and all the sons of Jacob came to the city, they and all their men, and they fought with all the inhabitants of the city of Cancer, and they fought by the sword, and no one stood before them. And about two hundred men fled from the city and they all went and hid in one tower in the city. And Judah chased after them as far as that tower, and the tower fell and fell on the people and they all died. And the sons of Jacob went up through the roof of that tower, and they looked out and saw, and behold, another tower in the distance in the city, very tall and strong, and its top is in the sky. And the sons of Jacob hurried and came down and went with all their men to that tower, and they found it full of men and women, and about three hundred men and women. And the sons of Jacob struck those men a great blow inside the tower, and they fled and fled from them. And Shimon and Levi chased after them, and twelve very heroic and strong men came out to them from the place that were hiding there. And those twelve men waged a huge war against Shimon and Levi, and Shimon and Levi could not stand with them, and those heroes cut off the defenders of Shimon and Levi. And one of them hit Levi on the head with his sword, and Levi hurried and put his hand on his head because he was afraid of the sword and the sword fell in Levi's hand and Levi's hand was almost not cut. And Levi grabbed the hero's sword with his other hand and took it hard from the man's hand, and struck him on the head with it and removed his head.
~120~ And the eleven men approached to fight with Levi because they saw that one of them had died and they fought with the sons of Jacob, and the sons of Jacob could not defeat them because the men were much stronger than them. And the sons of Jacob saw that they could not overcome them, and Shimon shouted a loud and very bitter cry, and all the eleven heroes were frightened at the sound of Shimon's shout. And Judah heard from afar the voice of his brother Shimon's cry, and Naphtali and Judah ran with their shields to Shimon, and they found him fighting with those heroes and unable to defeat them because their shields were cut off. And Naphtali saw that the shields of Shimon and Levi had been cut off and ran and took two shields from their servants and brought them to Shimon and Levi. And Shimon, Levi, and Yehuda, all three of them, fought with those eleven heroes that day until the time of day, and they were unable to defeat them, and this matter was told to Jacob, and he was very angry, and he prayed to God, and he and Naftali, his son, went against those heroes. And Jacob came and drew a bow and approached those heroes and killed three of them with a bow, and the remaining eight turned and saw the war facing them and behind them and they were very afraid of their souls and could not stand before the sons of Jacob and fled from them. And it came to pass that they struck Dan and those who were coming towards them, and suddenly fell upon them and fought them and killed two of them. And Yehuda and his brothers pursued them, and beat the rest of them and orphaned them. And all the sons of Jacob returned and went about the city, and searched it if they found anyone in it. And they went and found about twenty young men in one cave in the city, and they all killed Gad and Asher. And the rest of the people who tried and escaped from the second tower, Dan and Naftali attacked them and fought them and killed them all. And the sons of Jacob killed all the inhabitants of the city of Cancer, but the women and children left the city and did not kill them. And all the inhabitants of the city of Cancer are all heroes, one of them will pursue you and two will not be tempted by Rabbah of the human race. And the sons of Jacob were all killed by the sword and none of them stood before them, and they left the women in the city. And the sons of Jacob took all the spoils of the city and the captives they chose, and they took the sheep and the cattle and all the property of the city. And the sons of Jacob did to Cancer and its inhabitants as they did to Horor and its inhabitants, and they turned and went out and went from there.
~121~ And it came to pass when the sons of Jacob came out from the city of Cancer, and they went to them as a march of two hundred cubits, and they struck down the inhabitants of Toph as they came out to meet them. Because they went out to fight with them for which they beat the king of Toph and all his men. And all that was left in the city of Toph went out to fight the sons of Jacob, and they said to save from their hands the captives and the food which they had taken from Hatzor and Sarkan. And all the rest of the men of Toph fought with the sons of Jacob in that place, and the sons of Jacob encamped and Yaktom, and fled before them and pursued them as far as the city of Arbel, and they all fell before the sons of Jacob. And the sons of Jacob will return and an apple will come. And it happened when they came, and they heard that the men of Arbel had gone out to meet them to rescue the captives of their brothers. And the sons of Jacob left ten men of their men in Tofuh to despise the city, and they went out to meet the men of Arbel. And the people of Arbel went out, they and their wives, to fight the sons of Jacob, because their wives were learned in war, and about four hundred men and women went out. And all the sons of Jacob shouted at them with a loud voice, and they all ran towards the inhabitants of Arbel with a loud and huge voice. And the inhabitants of Arbel heard the sound of the shouts of the sons of Jacob and their growls like the roar of lions and the roaring of the sea and its waves, and fear and dread fell in their hearts from the sons of Jacob and they were greatly afraid of them and turned back behind them and fled before them to the city. And the sons of Jacob chased after them to the gate of the city and came upon them in the city. And the sons of Jacob fought with them inside the city, and all their women shot slingshots at the sons of Jacob. And the war was strong between them that day until the evening, because the sons of Jacob could not overcome them and almost no sons of Jacob died in that war. And the sons of Jacob hastened and came to the city, and seized all the people and put them to the sword. And the sons of Jacob restored all the spoil, and all the spoil of sheep and cattle and livestock. ~122~ And it came to pass on the fifth day, and the sons of Jacob heard that the men of Geash had gathered against them for war, for which they had killed their king and their ministers. Because fourteen ministers were in the city of Geash, and all the sons of Jacob were killed in the first war. And the sons of Jacob girded every man his weapons of war on that day, and went to war against the inhabitants of Geash. And in Gesch there was a great and great people from the Amorite people, and Gesch was a very strong and shapely city of all the Amorite cities and it had three walls. And the sons of Jacob came to Geshetha and found the gates of the city closed, and about five hundred men stationed on top of the outer wall. And with a blue rabbi who is on the seashore, the sons of Jacob lay in wait outside the city behind her. And the sons of Jacob approached to open the gate of the city, and as they approached, behold, the ambushers who were behind the city, came from their place and surrounded the sons of Jacob. And the sons of Jacob will be with the people of Geash inside, and the war will be with them front and back, and all the people who are on the wall will throw arrows and stones at them from over the wall. And Yehuda saw that all the men of Ges had honored them, and cried out a great and bitter cry. And all the people of Gesh were frightened at the sound of Judah's shout, and people fell from the wall because of the loudness of the shout. And also all who are outside the city and who are in the city, will take great care of themselves. And the sons of Jacob went further to break down the gates of the city, and the men of Gesch threw stones and arrows at them from the wall, and smote them from the gate. And the sons of Jacob returned to all the men of Geash who were with them outside the city, and struck them with a very great blow, as if they had struck zucchinis, and they could not all stand before the sons of Jacob, for terror and fear fell upon them because of the shouting of Judah. And the sons of Jacob killed all those people outside the city. And the sons of Jacob reached out to open the city and fight under the city wall, but they could not, because all the inhabitants of Gesch who remained in the city all surrounded the wall of Gesch from one side to the other and the sons of Jacob could not approach the city to fight. And it happened when the sons of Jacob came near one of the forts to fight under the wall, and the inhabitants of Gosh threw arrows and stones at them about a meter away, and in mercy under the wall.
