📖 This chapter exists in 3 other originals — side by side (Hebrew Old Testament, Vulgate, Ge'ez Bible)
ℹ️ This corpus has no verse-level morphological tagging. Lemmas come mainly from word-level tagging of other books in the same language (not from this verse), falling back to dictionary form-matching for the rest. Rare homographs can still be misread; verify against the original and a specialist lexicon where precision matters.
ℹ️ The Chinese and English alongside are this site's own translation, made directly from the original text on this page (not the CUV or the WEB, which follow the Masoretic Text and a different textual tradition).

And remember him who created you in the days of your youth, before the days of evil come and the years draw near in which you will say, 'I have no pleasure in them.'
In the day when the keepers of the house tremble, and the men of strength are bent, and the grinding women cease because they are few, and those who look through the openings grow dark.
And they shut the doors in the marketplace, when the sound of the grinding is faint; and one rises at the sound of the sparrow, and all the daughters of song are brought low.
And they will also look from a height, and terrors are in the way; and the almond tree blossoms, and the locust grows fat, and the caper berry is scattered; for man goes to his eternal house, and the mourners circle about in the marketplace.
Before the silver cord is overturned, and the golden flower-work is crushed, and the pitcher is shattered at the spring, and the wheel runs down onto the cistern.
The words of the wise are like goads, and like nails firmly planted, which were given from the collections by one shepherd; and beyond them there is more.
