ℹ️ This corpus has no morphological tagging. Glosses are matched by word form against a dictionary — a match does not prove it is the same word (an inflected form can coincide with another word’s lemma). Verify against the original and a specialist lexicon where precision matters.
ℹ️ The Chinese and English alongside are this site's own translation, made directly from the original text on this page (not the CUV or the WEB, which follow the Masoretic Text and a different textual tradition).
233:1
Hodiernam festivitatem, dilectissimi, apparitio Domini Salvatoris nostri, sicut nostris [F. nostis] illustrat, et hic ille est dies quo agnoscendum adorandumque Dei Filium tres magos prævia stella perduxit, etc. Desinit: Dilatio enim vindictæ dat locum pœnitentiæ, etc. Editus pariter ut superior pag. 88, num. 5, De Epiphania Domini.
'Most beloved, the appearing of the Lord our Savior illumines today's festivity, as you know [F. 'as it does ours'], and this is that day on which the leading star brought the three Magi to acknowledge and adore the Son of God,' etc. It ends: 'For the deferral of vengeance gives place to repentance,' etc. It was published likewise as the preceding one, on page 88, number 5, On the Epiphany of the Lord.
