28:1
ዘይትዔገሦ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር፡ ይትቤቀል፡ ሎቱ፡ ወኀጢአቶ፡ የኀድግ፡ ሎቱ።
He that takes vengeance will find vengeance from the Lord; And he will surely make firm his sins.
報復的人必從主那裡遭報，主必牢牢記住他的罪。
28:2
ኅድግ፡ ሎቱ፡ ለቢጽከ፡ ዘተሐይሶ፡ ወይእተ፡ ጊዜ፡ እምከመ፡ ተጋነይከ፡ ይሰሪ፡ ለከ፡ ኀጢአተከ።
Forgive your neighbor the hurt that he has done you; And then your sins will be pardoned when you pray.
要饒恕鄰舍向你所行的虧負，這樣你祈求時，你的罪也必得赦免。
28:3
ሶበ፡ አንተ፡ እንዘ፡ ሰብእ፡ አንተ፡ ትትቄየም፡ ሰብአ፡ (ዘከማሁ)፡ እፎ፡ እንከ፡ ተሣሃለኒ፡ ትብሎ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር።
Man cherisheth anger against man; And does he seek healing from the Lord?
人向人懷怒，怎能向主求醫治呢？
28:4
እንዘ፡ ኢታስተምሕር፡ ሰብአ፡ ከማከ፡ አእፎ፡ ትስእሎ፡ ይስረይ፡ ለከ፡ ኀጢአተከ።
Upon a man like himself he has no mercy; And does he make supplication for his own sins?
他向與自己一樣的人毫無憐憫，怎能為自己的罪祈求呢？
28:6
ተዘከር፡ [ደኃሪተከ፡]፡ ወኅድጋ፡ ለጽልእ፡ ተዘከሮ፡ ለሞት፡ ወለሙስና፡ ወዕቀብ፡ ትእዛዞ።
Remember your last end, and cease from enmity: Remember corruption and death, and abide in the commandments.
要記念你的結局，止息仇恨；要記念敗壞與死亡，恆守誡命。
28:7
ተዘከር፡ ሕጎ፡ ወኢትትቀየም፡ ቢጸከ፡ ተዘከር፡ ኵነኔሁ፡ ለልዑል፡ ወአሰስላ፡ ለመዐት።
Remember the commandments, and be not angry with your neighbor; And remember the covenant of the Highest, and wink at ignorance.
要記念誡命，不要向鄰舍懷怒；要記念至高者的約，寬容人的無知。
28:8
ግድጎ፡ ለጋእዝ፡ ወታውኅዶን፡ ለኀጣውኢከ፡ ብእሲ፡ መዐትም፡ ያፈልሖ፡ ለላኳ።
Abstain from strife, and you will diminish your sins: For a passionate man will kindle strife;
要遠離爭鬥，你的罪過便減少；因為暴怒的人煽起爭端。
28:9
ወብእሲ፡ ኃጥእ፡ ያሰርሕ፡ ቢጾ፡ ወያስተዳጕጽ፡ ማእከለ፡ አዕርክት።
And a man that is a sinner will trouble friends, And will make debate among those who are at peace.
犯罪的人攪擾朋友，在和睦的人中間挑起紛爭。
28:10
በአምጣነ፡ ዕፁ፡ ለእሳት፡ የዐቢ፡ ነዱ፡ ወበአምጣነ፡ ዕበየ፡ ጋእዙ፡ ከማሁ፡ ይፈልሕ፡ ላኳሁ፡ በአምጣነ፡ ኀይሉ፡ ለሰብእ፡[ቂ]ሙ፡ ወበአምጣነ፡ ብዕሉ፡ ከማሁ፡ ያዐብያ፡ ለመዐቱ።
As is the fuel of the fire, so will it burn; And as the stoutness of the strife is, so will it burn: As is the strength of the man, so will be his wrath; And as is his wealth, so will he exalt his anger.
火的燃料怎樣，火也怎樣燃燒；爭端越激烈，燒得越猛；人的力量怎樣，他的忿怒也怎樣；他的財富越多，怒氣便越發高漲。
28:11
ዘያልሕሓ፡ ለትዝኅርቱ፡ ያነድዳ፡ ለእሳት፡ ወዘይጔጕእ፡ ለጋእዝ፡ ያፈጥን፡ ክዒወ፡ ደም።
A contention begun in haste kindles a fire; And a hasty fighting sheds blood.
匆忙挑起的爭吵點燃火焰，急躁的爭鬥使人流血。
28:12
እመ፡ ነፋሕካ፡ ለፍሕም፡ ትነድድ፡ ወእመ፡ ወረቃ፡ ትጠፍእ፡ ወክልኤሆሙ፡ እምውስተ፡ አፍ፡ ይወጽኡ።
If you blow a spark, it will burn; And if you spit upon it, it will be quenched: And both these shall come out of your mouth.
你若向火星吹氣，它便燃起；你若向它吐唾沫，它便熄滅；這兩樣都是從你口中發出的。
28:13
ለሐማዩ፡ ወለዘ፡ ክልኤቱ፡ ልሳኑ፡ ይረግምዎ፡ እስመ፡ ብዙኃነ፡ አዕርክተ፡ አስተቃተለ።
Curse the whisperer and double-tongued: For he has destroyed many that were at peace.
你們要咒詛搬弄是非、口是心非的人，因為他毀了許多和睦的人。
28:14
ልሳን፡ መስተዳጕጽ፡ ሁኮሙ፡ ለብዙኃን፡ ወአስተፋለሶሙ፡ እምሕዝብ፡ ውስተ፡ ሕዝብ፡ ወአህጉረ፡ ጽኑዓተ፡ አመዝበረት፡ ወአብያቲሆሙ፡ ለዐበይት፡ አውደቀት።
A third person’s tongue has shaken many, And dispersed them from nation to nation; And it has pulled down strong cities, And overthrown the houses of great men.
播弄是非的舌頭使許多人動搖，把他們從這國驅散到那國，又拆毀堅固的城邑，傾覆權貴的家。
28:15
ልሳን፡ ነባቢት፡ ሰደደቶን፡ ለአንስት፡ እምአብያተ፡ አምታቲሆን፡ ወአህጐለቶሙ፡ ጻማሆን።
A third person’s tongue has cast out brave women, And deprived them of their labors.
播弄是非的舌頭趕出賢德的婦人，奪去她們勞苦所得的。
28:16
ወዘሰ፡ ኢትዐቀበ፡ ኢያዐርፍ፡ ለዝላፉ፡ ወኢይነብር፡ በሰላም።
He that hearkens to it will not find rest, Nor shall he dwell quietly.
聽信它的人必不得安息，也不能安然居住。
28:17
ቊስለ፡ መቅሠፍት፡ ይገብር፡ አምግልተ፡ ወቊስለ፡ ልሳን፡ ይሰብር፡ አዕፅምተ።
The stroke of a whip makes a mark in the flesh; But the stroke of a tongue will break bones.
鞭子的擊打使皮肉留下傷痕，舌頭的擊打卻能打斷骨頭。
28:18
ብዙኃን፡ እለ፡ ወድቁ፡ በኀጺን፡ ወአኮ፡ ከመ፡ እለ፡ ወድቁ፡ በልሳን።
Many have fallen by the edge of the sword: Yet not so many as those who have fallen because of the tongue.
許多人死在刀劍之下，但死於舌頭的卻更多。
28:19
ብፁዕ፡ ዘድኅነ፡ እምኔሃ፡ ወዘኢድኅፀ፡ በመንሱታ፡ ወዘኢሐረሰ፡ በአርዑታ፡ ወዘኢተሞቅሐ፡ በማእሰራ።
Happy is he that is sheltered from it, That has not passed through the wrath thereof; That has not drawn its yoke, And has not been bound with its bands.
能躲避它的人是有福的，他未曾經歷它的忿怒，未曾被它的軛所牽，也未曾被它的繩索所縛。
28:20
አርዑታሂ፡ አርዑተ፡ ኀጺን፡ ወመዋቅሕቲሃኒ፡ ዘብርት።
For the yoke thereof is a yoke of iron, And the bands thereof are bands of brass.
因為它的軛是鐵軛，它的繩索是銅鏈。
28:21
እኩይ፡ ሞት፡ ሞታ፡ ትቀልል፡ ሲኦል፡ እምኔሃ።
The death thereof is an evil death; And Hades were better than it.
它所致的死是兇惡的死，陰間反倒比它更可取。
28:22
ለጻድቃንሰ፡ ኢትበጽሖሙ፡ ወኢውዕዩ፡ በእሳታ።
It shall not have rule over godly men; And they shall not be burned in its flame.
它必不能轄制敬虔的人，他們也不致被它的火焰焚燒。
28:23
እለ፡ ይረስዕዎ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር፡ ይወድቁ፡ ባቲ፡ ወታውዕዮሙ፡ በዘኢይጠፍእ፡ እሳት፡ ወትሰርር፡ ላዕሌሆሙ፡ ከመ፡ ዐንበሳ፡ ወትእኅዞሙ፡ ከመ፡ ነምር።
They that forsake the Lord shall fall into it; And it shall burn among them, and shall not be quenched: It shall be sent forth upon them as a lion; And as a leopard it shall destroy them.
離棄主的人必落在它裡面，它必在他們中間燃燒，總不熄滅；它必如獅子被差遣攻擊他們，如豹子毀滅他們。
28:24
እመኒ፡ ሐጸርከ፡ በሦክ፡ ላዕለ፡ ንዋይከ፡ ወኀተምከ፡ ወርቀከ፡ ወብሩረከ።
Look that you hedge your possession about with thorns; Bind up your silver and your gold;
看哪，你要用荊棘圍護你的產業，把你的金銀捆束收好。
28:25
ወደለውከ፡ በመዳልው፡ ቃለከ፡ ወወደይከ፡ ማዕጾ፡ ወመንሠገ፡ ላዕለ፡ አፉከ።
And make a balance and a weight for your words; And make a door and a bar for your mouth.
也要為你的言語做天平與砝碼，為你的口做門與閂。
28:26
ዓዲ፡ ተዐቀባ፡ ኢታድኅፅከ፡ ልሳንከ፡ ወኢታውድቀ፡ ቅድመ፡ ዘይንፅወከ።
Take heed lest you slip therein; Lest you fall before one that lies in wait.
要謹慎，免得你在言語上失足，免得你在埋伏者面前跌倒。
