ፈሪሀ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ አእምሮ ፡ ሠናይ ፡ ወጥበብ ፡ ቀዳሚት ፡ ክብርት ፡ ይእቲ ፡ ለዘያወሥኣ ፡ ላቲ ፡ ወትተልዎሙ ፡ ለየዋሃን ፡ ክብር ።
The plans of the heart belong to man, but the answer of the tongue is from Yahweh.
心中的謀算在乎人； 舌頭的應對由於耶和華。
16:2▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ኵሉ ፡ ምግባሩ ፡ ለትሑት ፡ ሥሙር ፡ በኀበ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ወረሲዓንሰ ፡ ይትኀጐሉ ፡ በዕለት ፡ እኪት ።
All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes, but Yahweh weighs the motives.
人一切所行的，在自己眼中看為清潔； 惟有耶和華衡量人心。
16:3▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ርኩስ ፡ በኀበ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ዕቡየ ፡ ልብ ፡ እደ ፡ በእድ ፡ ዘይእኅዝ ፡ በዓመፃ ፡ ኢይነጽሕ ።
Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed.
你所做的，要交託耶和華， 你所謀的，就必成立。
16:4▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ቀዳሚት ፡ ፍኖት ፡ ኄርት ፡ ገቢረ ፡ ጽድቅ ፡ ሥሙር ፡ በኀበ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ጥቀ ፡ እምዘቢሐ ፡ መሥዋዕት ።
Yahweh has made everything for its own end— yes, even the wicked for the day of evil.
耶和華所造的，各適其用； 就是惡人也為禍患的日子所造。
16:5▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ዘየኃሥሦ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ ይረክብ ፡ አእምሮ ፡ በጽድቅ ።
Everyone who is proud in heart is an abomination to Yahweh; they shall certainly not be unpunished.
凡心裏驕傲的，為耶和華所憎惡； 雖然連手，他必不免受罰。
16:6▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ወእለሰ ፡ ርትዐ ፡ የኃሥሡ ፡ ይረክቡ ፡ ሰላመ ።
By mercy and truth iniquity is atoned for. By the fear of Yahweh men depart from evil.
因憐憫誠實，罪孽得贖； 敬畏耶和華的，遠離惡事。
16:7▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ኵሉ ፡ ምግባሩ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ ዘምስለ ፡ ጽድቅ ።
When a man’s ways please Yahweh, he makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.
人所行的，若蒙耶和華喜悅， 耶和華也使他的仇敵與他和好。
16:8▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ይትዓቀብ ፡ ረሲዕ ፡ ለዕለት ፡ እኪት ።
Better is a little with righteousness, than great revenues with injustice.
多有財利，行事不義， 不如少有財利，行事公義。
16:9▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ሰገል ፡ ውስተ ፡ አፈ ፡ ንጉሥ ፡ ወበፍትሕ ፡ ኢይጌጊ ፡ አፉሁ ።
A man’s heart plans his course, but Yahweh directs his steps.
人心籌算自己的道路； 惟耶和華指引他的腳步。
16:10▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ከመ ፡ ለጽሊጸ ፡ ልሳነ ፡ መዳልው ፡ ፍትሕ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ወምግባሩሂ ፡ አእባነ ፡ ቊናማት ።
Inspired judgments are on the lips of the king. He shall not betray his mouth.
王的嘴中有神語， 審判之時，他的口必不差錯。
16:11▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ምኑን ፡ በኀበ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ መዳልወ ፡ ዓመፃ ፡ ወምኑን ፡ በኀበ ፡ ንጉሥ ፡ ዘይገብር ፡ እኩየ ፡ ወምስለ ፡ ጽድቅ ፡ ይነብር ፡ መንበረ ፡ ምኵናን ።
Honest balances and scales are Yahweh’s; all the weights in the bag are his work.
公道的天平和秤都屬耶和華； 囊中一切法碼都為他所定。
16:12▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ሥሙር ፡ በኀበ ፡ ንጉሥ ፡ ከናፍረ ፡ ጽድቅ ፡ ወነገረ ፡ ርቱዐ ፡ ያፈቅር ፡ እግዚአብሔር ።
It is an abomination for kings to do wrong, for the throne is established by righteousness.
作惡，為王所憎惡， 因國位是靠公義堅立。
16:13▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
መዓተ ፡ ንጉሥ ፡ ከመ ፡ መልአከ ፡ ሞት ፡ ወብእሲሰ ፡ ጠቢብ ፡ ይዬውሆ ።
Righteous lips are the delight of kings. They value one who speaks the truth.
公義的嘴為王所喜悅； 說正直話的，為王所喜愛。
16:14▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ከመ ፡ ብርሃነ ፡ ፀሐይ ፡ ገጸ ፡ ንጉሥ ፡ ወበእለ ፡ ኢያሠምርዎሰ ፡ ከመ ፡ ደመና ፡ ምሴት ።
The king’s wrath is a messenger of death, but a wise man will pacify it.
王的震怒如殺人的使者； 但智慧人能止息王怒。
16:15▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
አጥርዮታ ፡ ለጥበብ ፡ ይትበደር ፡ እምወርቅ ፡ ወአጥርዮታ ፡ ለአእምሮ ፡ ይኄይስ ፡ እምብሩር ።
In the light of the king’s face is life. His favor is like a cloud of the spring rain.
王的臉光使人有生命； 王的恩典好像春雲時雨。
16:16▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ፍናወ ፡ ሕይወት ፡ ያግኅሣ ፡ እምእኩይ ፡ ወኑኀ ፡ መዋዕል ፡ ፍናወ ፡ ጽድቅ ።
How much better it is to get wisdom than gold! Yes, to get understanding is to be chosen rather than silver.
得智慧勝似得金子； 選聰明強如選銀子。
16:17▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ዘይትዌከፍ ፡ ትምህርተ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ሠናይ ፡ ይሄሉ ፡ ወዘየዓቅብሂ ፡ ተግሣፀ ፡ ይጠበብ ።
The highway of the upright is to depart from evil. He who keeps his way preserves his soul.
正直人的道是遠離惡事； 謹守己路的，是保全性命。
16:18▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ፍናዊሁ ፡ ይትመኃፀና ፡ ለነፍሱ ፡ ወዘያፈቅር ፡ ሕይወቶ ፡ ይዕቀብ ፡ አፉሁ ።
Pride goes before destruction, and an arrogant spirit before a fall.
驕傲在敗壞以先； 狂心在跌倒之前。
16:19▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
እምቅድመ ፡ ባእስ ፡ ይቀድም ፡ ጽኢል ፡ ወእምቅድመ ፡ ድቀት ፡ አእምሮ ፡ እኩይ ።
It is better to be of a lowly spirit with the poor, than to divide the plunder with the proud.
心裏謙卑與窮乏人來往， 強如將擄物與驕傲人同分。
16:20▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ይኄይስ ፡ ዓራቄ ፡ መዓት ፡ ዘበአትሕቶ ፡ እምዘይትካፈል ፡ በርበረ ፡ ምስለ ፡ ጸአልያን ።
He who heeds the Word finds prosperity. Whoever trusts in Yahweh is blessed.
謹守訓言的，必得好處； 倚靠耶和華的，便為有福。
16:21▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ማእምር ፡ ዘበምግባሩ ፡ ረካቢሆን ፡ ለኄራት ፡ ወዘይትዌከልሰ ፡ ብእግዚአብሔር ፡ ብፁዕ ።
The wise in heart shall be called prudent. Pleasantness of the lips promotes instruction.
心中有智慧，必稱為通達人； 嘴中的甜言，加增人的學問。
16:22▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ለጠቢብ ፡ ማእምረ ፡ ይሰምይዎ ፡ ወለጥዑመ ፡ ቃል ፡ ፈድፋደ ፡ ይጼውዕዎ ።
Understanding is a fountain of life to one who has it, but the punishment of fools is their folly.
人有智慧就有生命的泉源； 愚昧人必被愚昧懲治。
16:23▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ነቅዐ ፡ ሕይወት ፡ ሕሊና ፡ ሠናይት ፡ ለእለ ፡ አጥረይዋ ፡ ወትምህርተ ፡ ዐብዳንሰ ፡ እኪት ።
The heart of the wise instructs his mouth, and adds learning to his lips.
智慧人的心教訓他的口， 又使他的嘴增長學問。
16:24▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ልበ ፡ ጠቢብ ፡ ይትአመር ፡ እምአፉሁ ፡ ወውስተ ፡ ከናፍሪሁ ፡ ይለብስ ፡ ተዓውቆ ።
Pleasant words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.
良言如同蜂房， 使心覺甘甜，使骨得醫治。
16:25▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ጸቃውዓ ፡ መዓር ፡ ነገር ፡ ሠናይ ፡ ወመዓርዒሮን ፡ ፈውሰ ፡ ነፍሶ ።
There is a way which seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death.
有一條路，人以為正， 至終成為死亡之路。
16:26▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ቦ ፡ ፍናው ፡ ዘይመስላሁ ፡ ለብእሲ ፡ ርቱዓተ ፡ ወጽንፎንኒ ፡ ይኔጽራ ፡ ማዕምቅተ ፡ ሲኦል ።
The appetite of the laboring man labors for him, for his mouth urges him on.
勞力人的胃口使他勞力， 因為他的口腹催逼他。
16:27▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ብእሲ ፡ በኅማሙ ፡ የሐምም ፡ ለርእሱ ፡ ወይትኄየል ፡ በርእሱ ፡ ኃጒል ፡ ወባሕቱ ፡ ጠዋይ ፡ ውስተ ፡ አፉሁ ፡ ይለብስ ፡ ኀጒለ ።
A worthless man devises mischief. His speech is like a scorching fire.
匪徒圖謀奸惡， 嘴上彷彿有燒焦的火。
16:28▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ብእሲ ፡ ዓብድ ፡ ይከሪ ፡ ለርእሱ ፡ እከየ ፡ ወውስተ ፡ ከናፍሪሁ ፡ ይዘግብ ፡ እሳተ ።
A perverse man stirs up strife. A whisperer separates close friends.
乖僻人播散紛爭； 傳舌的，離間密友。
16:29▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ብእሲ ፡ ጠዋይ ፡ ይልእክ ፡ እከየ ፡ ወማኅቶተ ፡ ሐብል ፡ ታውዕዮሙ ፡ ለእኩያን ፡ ወትሌሊ ፡ አዕርክተ ።
A man of violence entices his neighbor, and leads him in a way that is not good.
強暴人誘惑鄰舍， 領他走不善之道。
16:30▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ብእሲ ፡ እኩይ ፡ የሐብል ፡ አዕርክተ ፡ ወይወስዶሙ ፡ ፍናወ ፡ እለ ፡ ኢኮና ፡ ኄራተ ።
One who winks his eyes to plot perversities, one who compresses his lips, is bent on evil.
眼目緊合的，圖謀乖僻； 嘴唇緊閉的，成就邪惡。
16:31▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ዘያወትር ፡ በአዕይንቲሁ ፡ ይሔሊ ፡ ጠዋየ ፡ ወዘያቤይድ ፡ በከናፍሪሁ ፡ ኵሎ ፡ እኩየ ፡ ዘእቶነ ፡ እከይ ፡ ውእቱ ።
Gray hair is a crown of glory. It is attained by a life of righteousness.
白髮是榮耀的冠冕， 在公義的道上必能得着。
16:32▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
አክሊለ ፡ ምክሕ ፡ ርሥዕ ፡ ሠናይ ፡ ወውስተ ፡ ፍናወ ፡ ጽድቅ ፡ ይትረከብ ።
One who is slow to anger is better than the mighty; one who rules his spirit, than he who takes a city.
不輕易發怒的，勝過勇士； 治服己心的，強如取城。
16:33▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ይኄይሰ ፡ ብእሲ ፡ ዕጉሥ ፡ እምኃያል ፡ ወብእሲ ፡ ዘጥበብ ፡ ቦቱ ፡ እምወፍር ፡ ዓቢይ ።
The lot is cast into the lap, but its every decision is from Yahweh.
籤放在懷裏， 定事由耶和華。
16:34▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ዘይሤለጥ ፡ በመንፈሱ ፡ እምዘይመልክ ፡ ሀገረ ፡ ወዘይትዔገሥ ፡ መዓተ ፡ ይኄይስ ፡ እምዘ ፡ ያስተጋብእ ፡ ሀገረ ።
The lot is cast into the lap, but its every decision is from Yahweh.
籤放在懷裏， 定事由耶和華。
16:35▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ለብእሲ ፡ ዓማፂ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ኅፅኑ ፡ ይገብእ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ ዓመፃሁ ፡ ወእምኀበ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ኵሉ ፡ ጻድቅ ።
