John 2:1-11. And on the third day there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there. Now Jesus also was invited, along with his disciples, to the wedding. And when the wine ran short, the mother of Jesus said to him: They have no wine. And Jesus said to her: What is that to me and to you, woman? My hour has not yet come. His mother said to the servants: Whatever he says to you, do it. Now there were standing there six stone water jars set according to the purification of the Jews, each holding two or three measures. Jesus said to them: Fill the jars with water. And they filled them up to the brim. And Jesus said to them: Draw out now, and carry it to the steward of the feast. And they carried it.
But when the steward of the feast tasted the water that had been made wine, and did not know where it came from — though the servants who had drawn the water knew — the steward called the bridegroom and said to him: Every man sets out the good wine first, and when men have drunk freely, then that which is poorer; but you have kept the good wine until now. This beginning of signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and he manifested his glory.
