📖 This chapter exists in 3 other originals — side by side (Hebrew Old Testament, Vulgate, Ge'ez Bible)
ℹ️ This corpus has no verse-level morphological tagging. Lemmas come mainly from word-level tagging of other books in the same language (not from this verse), falling back to dictionary form-matching for the rest. Rare homographs can still be misread; verify against the original and a specialist lexicon where precision matters.
ℹ️ The Chinese and English alongside are this site's own translation, made directly from the original text on this page (not the CUV or the WEB, which follow the Masoretic Text and a different textual tradition).

I will take you and bring you into my mother's house, and into the chamber of her who conceived me; I will give you spiced wine to drink, the juice of my pomegranates.
I have adjured you, daughters of Jerusalem, by the powers and by the strengths of the field: why would you rouse, and why would you awaken love, before it pleases?
Who is this coming up, made white, leaning upon her beloved? Under the apple tree I awakened you; there your mother travailed with you, there she who bore you travailed.
Set me as a seal upon your heart, as a seal upon your arm; for love is strong as death, jealousy is hard as Hades. Its wings are wings of fire, its flames.
Many waters will not be able to quench love, nor will rivers overwhelm it. If a man should give all his living for love, they would utterly despise him.
