📖 This chapter exists in 3 other originals — side by side (Hebrew Old Testament, Vulgate, Ge'ez Bible)
ℹ️ This corpus has no verse-level morphological tagging. Lemmas come mainly from word-level tagging of other books in the same language (not from this verse), falling back to dictionary form-matching for the rest. Rare homographs can still be misread; verify against the original and a specialist lexicon where precision matters.
ℹ️ The Chinese and English alongside are this site's own translation, made directly from the original text on this page (not the CUV or the WEB, which follow the Masoretic Text and a different textual tradition).

I have come into my garden, my sister, bride; I have gathered my myrrh with my spices; I have eaten my bread with my honey; I have drunk my wine with my milk. Eat, companions, and drink, and be drunk, brothers.
I sleep, but my heart is awake. The voice of my beloved! He knocks at the door: Open to me, my sister, my companion, my dove, my perfect one; for my head is filled with dew and my locks with the drops of the night.
I opened to my beloved, but my beloved had passed on. My soul went out at his word. I sought him and did not find him; I called him and he did not answer me.
I have adjured you, daughters of Jerusalem, by the powers and by the strengths of the field: if you find my beloved, what will you tell him? That I am wounded with love.
