ℹ️ This corpus has no verse-level morphological tagging. Lemmas come mainly from word-level tagging of other books in the same language (not from this verse), falling back to dictionary form-matching for the rest. Rare homographs can still be misread; verify against the original and a specialist lexicon where precision matters.

[Old Greek] In the first year under Darius son of Xerxes, of the Median line, those who reigned over the kingdom of the Chaldeans. [Theodotion] In the first year of Darius son of Asouerus, of the seed of the Medes, who reigned over the kingdom of the Chaldeans.
[Old Greek] In the first year of his reign, I, Daniel, pondered in the books the number of the years, when a decree came to the land through Jeremiah the prophet, to be raised up for the filling up of the reproach of Jerusalem, seventy years. [Theodotion] In year one of his reign, I, Daniel, understood in the books the number of the years, concerning which the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah the prophet, for the completion of the desolation of Jerusalem, seventy years.
[Old Greek] And I set my face toward the Lord God, to find prayer and mercy, in fastings and sackcloth and ashes. [Theodotion] And I set my face toward the Lord God, to seek out prayer and supplications, in fastings and sackcloth and ashes.
[Old Greek] And I prayed to the Lord God and made confession and said: Behold, Lord, you are the great and strong and fearsome God, who keeps the covenant and the mercy for those who love you and for those who keep your ordinances. [Theodotion] And I prayed to the Lord my God and made confession and said: Lord, the great and wonderful God, who keeps your covenant and the mercy for those who love you and for those who keep your commandments.
[Old Greek] We have sinned, we have done wrong, we have been impious, and we have revolted and have transgressed your commandments and your judgments. [Theodotion] We have sinned, we have done wrong, we have acted lawlessly, and we have revolted and have turned aside from your commandments and from your judgments.
[Old Greek] And we did not listen to your servants the prophets, what they spoke in your name to our kings and our rulers and our fathers, and to every nation upon the earth. [Theodotion] And we did not hearken to your servants the prophets, who spoke in your name to our kings and our rulers and our fathers, and to all the people of the land.
To you, Lord, belongs righteousness, and to us shame of face, as on this day: to the men of Judah, and to those sitting in Jerusalem, and to all the people of Israel, to those nearest and to those farther off, in all the countries into which you scattered them there, because of the trespass they trespassed before you. To you, Lord, belongs righteousness, and to us shame of face, as this day: to the man of Judah, and to those inhabiting Jerusalem, and to all Israel, to those near and to those far, in all the land where you dispersed them there, in their faithlessness which they committed against you.
Master, to us belongs shame of face, and to our kings and potentates and to our fathers, because we sinned against you. Lord, to us belongs shame of face, and to our kings and to our rulers and to our fathers, who sinned against you.
To the Lord belong righteousness and mercy, because we departed from you. To the Lord our God belong the compassions and the propitiations, because we departed.
And we did not hear the voice of the Lord our God, to follow after your law, which you gave before Moses and us through your servants the prophets. And we did not listen to the voice of the Lord our God, to walk in his laws, which he gave before our face by the hands of his servants the prophets.
And all Israel forsook your law, and they turned away, not hearing your voice; and the curse and the oath written in the law of Moses the servant of God came upon us, because we sinned against him. And all Israel transgressed your law, and they turned aside, not hearing your voice; and the curse and the oath written in the law of Moses the servant of God came upon us, because we sinned against him.
And he established for us his ordinances, as many as he spoke concerning us and concerning our judges, whatever you judged for us, to bring upon us great evils such as have not come to pass under heaven, according to what came to pass in Jerusalem. And he established his words, which he spoke concerning us and concerning our judges who judged us, to bring upon us great evils such as have not come to pass under all heaven, according to the things that came to pass in Jerusalem.
According to the things written in the covenant of Moses, all the evils came upon us; and we did not seek out the face of the Lord our God, to turn away from our sins and to give thought to your righteousness, O Lord. As it is written in the law of Moses, all these evils came upon us; and we did not entreat the face of the Lord our God, to turn away from our iniquities and to understand in all your truth.
And the Lord God kept watch over the evils and brought them upon us; for the Lord our God is righteous in all that he may do, and we did not hear his voice. And the Lord was watchful and brought them upon us; for the Lord our God is righteous in all his work which he did, and we did not listen to his voice.
And now, Master, Lord our God, who brought your people out of Egypt with your lofty arm and made yourself a name, as on this day—we have sinned, we have been ignorant. And now, Lord our God, who brought your people out of the land of Egypt with a mighty hand and made yourself a name, as this day—we have sinned, we have acted lawlessly.
Master, according to your righteousness, let your wrath and your anger be turned away from your city Jerusalem, your holy mountain; for because of our sins and the ignorances of our fathers, Jerusalem and your people, O Lord, have become a reproach among all those around us. Lord, in all your mercy, let your wrath and your anger be turned away from your city Jerusalem, your holy mountain; for we sinned, and because of our iniquities and those of our fathers, Jerusalem and your people have become a reproach among all those around us.
And now hear, Master, the prayer of your servant and my petitions, and let your face look upon your holy mountain that is desolate, for the sake of your servants, Master. And now listen, Lord our God, to the prayer of your servant and his petitions, and make your face shine upon your sanctuary that is desolate, for your own sake, Lord.
Give heed, Lord, incline your ear and hear me; open your eyes and see our desolation and that of your city upon which your name has been called; for it is not on the ground of our righteous deeds that we make petition in our prayers before you, but because of your mercy. Incline your ear, my God, and hear; open your eyes and see our ruin and that of your city upon which your name has been called; for it is not on the ground of our righteous deeds that we cast down our plea before you, but upon your many compassions.
Lord, be propitious; Lord, hear and act, and do not delay, for your own sake, Master; for your name has been called upon your city Zion and upon your people Israel. Lord, listen; Lord, be propitiated; Lord, give heed and act; do not delay, for your own sake, my God; for your name has been called upon your city and upon your people.
And while I was speaking, praying and confessing my sins and the sins of my people Israel, and making petition in my prayers before the Lord my God, and on behalf of the holy mountain of our God— And while I was still speaking and praying and confessing my sins and the sins of my people Israel, and casting down my plea before the Lord my God concerning the holy mountain of my God—
And while I was still speaking in my prayer, behold, the man whom I had seen in my sleep at the beginning, Gabriel, borne swiftly, drew near to me at the hour of the evening sacrifice. And while I was still speaking in prayer, behold, the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, came flying and touched me about the hour of the evening sacrifice.
And he came near and spoke with me and said, "Daniel, I have just now come out to show you understanding." And he gave me understanding and spoke with me and said, "Daniel, I have now come out to impart insight to you."
At the beginning of your petition an ordinance went out from the Lord, and I have come to show you, because you are one to be pitied; so give thought to the ordinance. At the beginning of your petition a word went out, and I have come to announce it to you, because you are a man of desires; so consider the word and understand the vision.
Seventy weeks have been decreed upon your people and upon the city of Zion: to bring sin to completion, to make iniquities scarce, to blot out iniquities, to give thought to the vision, to grant everlasting righteousness, to bring the vision to completion, and to gladden a holy of holies. Seventy weeks have been cut short upon your people and upon your holy city: to bring sin to completion, to seal up sins, to blot out lawless deeds, to make atonement for iniquities, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophet, and to anoint a holy of holies.
And you shall know and give thought and rejoice, and you shall find ordinances by which to give answer, and you shall build Jerusalem as a city for the Lord. And you shall know and understand: from the going forth of the word to give answer and to rebuild Jerusalem until an anointed leader there are seven weeks and sixty-two weeks; and it shall return, and street and wall shall be built, and the times shall be emptied out.
And after seven and seventy and sixty-two, an anointing shall be removed and shall be no more; and a kingdom of nations shall destroy the city and the sanctuary together with the anointed one; and his consummation shall come with wrath, and until the time of consummation he shall be warred against with war. And after the sixty-two weeks an anointing shall be utterly destroyed, and there is no judgment in him; and the city and the sanctuary the leader who is coming shall destroy together with him; and they shall be cut off in a flood; and until the end of a war that has been cut short, he shall appoint by desolations.
And the covenant shall prevail for many, and it shall turn back again, and it shall be rebuilt in breadth and length; and at the consummation of times, and after seven and seventy times and sixty-two years, until the time of the consummation of war, the desolation shall be taken away, when the covenant prevails for many weeks; and at the end of the week the sacrifice and the drink offering shall be taken away, and upon the sanctuary there shall be an abomination of desolations until the consummation, and a consummation shall be given upon the desolation. And he shall make a covenant strong for many, one week; and at the half of the week my sacrifice and drink offering shall be taken away, and upon the sanctuary an abomination of desolations; and until the consummation of the appointed time a consummation shall be given upon the desolation.
