ℹ️ This corpus has no verse-level morphological tagging. Lemmas come mainly from word-level tagging of other books in the same language (not from this verse), falling back to dictionary form-matching for the rest. Rare homographs can still be misread; verify against the original and a specialist lexicon where precision matters.

16:1
And Dauid had passed a little beyond Rōos, and behold, Siba the servant of Memphibosthe came to meet him with a pair of saddled donkeys, and on them two hundred loaves and a hundred clusters of raisins and a hundred dates and a nebel of wine.
And the king said to Siba, "What are these to you?" And Siba said, "The beasts are for the king's household to ride on, and the loaves and the dates are for food for the young men, and the wine is for those who are exhausted in the wilderness to drink."
And the king said, "And where is your master's son?" And Siba said to the king, "Behold, he remains in Ierousalem, for he said, 'Today the house of Israel will restore to me the kingdom of my father.'"
And the king said to Siba, "Behold, all that belongs to Memphibosthe is yours." And Siba, doing obeisance, said, "May I find favor in your eyes, my lord O king."
And king Dauid came as far as Baourim, and behold, from there a man was coming out, of the family of the house of Saoul, and his name was Semei son of Gera; he came out, going along and cursing.
And he threw stones at Dauid and at all the servants of king Dauid; and all the people were there, and all the mighty men, on the right and on the left of the king.
And thus said Semei as he cursed him, "Get out, get out, you man of blood and lawless man!
The Lord has returned upon you all the blood of the house of Saoul, because you reigned in his place; and the Lord has given the kingdom into the hand of Abessalom your son. And behold, you are in your own evil, for you are a man of blood."
And Abessa son of Sarouias said to the king, "Why does this dead dog curse my lord the king? Let me please cross over and take off his head."
And the king said, "What have I to do with you, sons of Sarouias? Let him be, and so let him curse, for the Lord told him to curse Dauid; and who shall say, 'Why have you done so?'"
And Dauid said to Abessa and to all his servants, "Behold, my son who came out of my belly seeks my life; and how much more now this son of Iemini! Let him be, to curse, for the Lord told him.
Perhaps the Lord will look upon my humiliation, and he will return good things to me in place of his cursing this day."
And Dauid and his men went on the road; and Semei went along the side of the mountain close to him, going along and cursing and throwing stones from beside him and sprinkling with dust.
And the king and all the people with him came exhausted, and they refreshed themselves there.
And Abessalom and all the men of Israel entered Ierousalem, and Achitophel with him.
And it came to pass, when Chousi the Archite, David's companion, came to Abessalom, that Chousi said to Abessalom, Long live the king!
And Abessalom said to Chousi, Is this your mercy toward your companion? Why did you not go with your companion?
And Chousi said to Abessalom, No, but I will be behind the one whom the Lord and this people and every man of Israel have chosen; his I will be, and with him I will remain.
And secondly, whom shall I serve? Is it not before his son? Just as I served before your father, so will I be before you.
And Abessalom said to Achitophel, Take counsel among yourselves, what shall we do?
And Achitophel said to Abessalom, Go in to your father's concubines, whom he left to keep his house; and all Israel will hear that you have shamed your father, and the hands of all who are with you will be strengthened.
And they pitched the tent for Abessalom on the roof, and Abessalom went in to his father's concubines before the eyes of all Israel.
And the counsel of Achitophel, which he counselled in the former days, was as when one inquires by the word of God; so was all the counsel of Achitophel, both to David and to Abessalom.
