But lest anyone, raising an objection against us, should say, 'What prevents the one called by us Christ, being a man sprung from men, from having done by magical art the mighty works we speak of, and thus seeming to be the Son of God?'—we shall now offer the proof, not trusting those who merely make assertions, but of necessity being persuaded by those who prophesied before the events came to pass, since we behold with our own eyes things that have happened and are happening just as they were foretold; which will appear, as we think, even to you, the greatest and truest proof.
