ℹ️ This corpus has no verse-level morphological tagging. Lemmas come mainly from word-level tagging of other books in the same language (not from this verse), falling back to dictionary form-matching for the rest. Rare homographs can still be misread; verify against the original and a specialist lexicon where precision matters.
ℹ️ The Chinese and English alongside are this site's own translation, made directly from the original text on this page (not the CUV or the WEB, which follow the Masoretic Text and a different textual tradition).

And the matter appeared evil in the eyes of Saul concerning this word, and he said of David, To him they have given the ten thousands, and to me they have given the thousands.
And Saul commanded his servants, saying, Speak secretly to David, saying, Behold, the king delights in you, and all his servants love you; so become the king's son-in-law.
And the servants of Saul spoke these words in the ears of David; and David said, Is it a light thing in your eyes to become a king's son-in-law? And I am a lowly man and not honoured.
And Saul said, Thus shall you say to David, The king desires no gift, but only a hundred foreskins of the Philistines, to take vengeance on the enemies of the king. And Saul reckoned to cast him into the hands of the Philistines.
And David arose and went, he and his men, and struck a hundred men among the Philistines, and brought their foreskins to the king; and he becomes the king's son-in-law, and he gives him Melchol his daughter to him for a wife.
