Fili mi , ne obliviscaris legis meae , et praecepta mea cor tuum custodiat :
My son, don’t forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commandments,
我兒,不要忘記我的法則 ; 你心要謹守我的誡命;

longitudinem enim dierum , et annos vitae , et pacem , apponent tibi .
for they will add to you length of days, years of life, and peace.
因為它必將長久的日子, 生命的年數與平安,加給你。

Misericordia et veritas te non deserant ; circumda eas gutturi tuo , et describe in tabulis cordis tui :
Don’t let kindness and truth forsake you. Bind them around your neck. Write them on the tablet of your heart.
不可使慈愛、誠實離開你, 要繫在你頸項上,刻在你心版上。

et invenies gratiam , et disciplinam bonam , coram Deo et hominibus .
So you will find favor, and good understanding in the sight of God and man.

Habe fiduciam in Domino ex toto corde tuo , et ne innitaris prudentiae tuae .
Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding.
你要專心仰賴耶和華, 不可倚靠自己的聰明,

In omnibus viis tuis cogita illum , et ipse diriget gressus tuos .
In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.
在你一切所行的事上都要認定他, 他必指引你的路。

Ne sis sapiens apud temetipsum ; time Deum , et recede a malo :
Don’t be wise in your own eyes. Fear Yahweh, and depart from evil.
不要自以為有智慧; 要敬畏耶和華,遠離惡事。

sanitas quippe erit umbilico tuo , et irrigatio ossium tuorum .
It will be health to your body, and nourishment to your bones.
這便醫治你的肚臍, 滋潤你的百骨。

Honora Dominum de tua substantia , et de primitiis omnium frugum tuarum da ei :
Honor Yahweh with your substance, with the first fruits of all your increase;
你要以財物 和一切初熟的土產尊榮耶和華。

et implebuntur horrea tua saturitate , et vino torcularia tua redundabunt .
so your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will overflow with new wine.
這樣,你的倉房必充滿有餘; 你的酒醡有新酒盈溢。

Disciplinam Domini , fili mi , ne abjicias , nec deficias cum ab eo corriperis :
My son, don’t despise Yahweh’s discipline, neither be weary of his correction;
我兒,你不可輕看耶和華的管教 , 也不可厭煩他的責備;

quem enim diligit Dominus , corripit , et quasi pater in filio complacet sibi .
for whom Yahweh loves, he corrects, even as a father reproves the son in whom he delights.
因為耶和華所愛的,他必責備, 正如父親責備所喜愛的兒子。

Beatus homo qui invenit sapientiam , et qui affluit prudentia .
Happy is the man who finds wisdom, the man who gets understanding.
得智慧,得聰明的, 這人便為有福。

Melior est acquisitio ejus negotiatione argenti , et auri primi et purissimi fructus ejus .
For her good profit is better than getting silver, and her return is better than fine gold.
因為得智慧勝過得銀子, 其利益強如精金,

Pretiosior est cunctis opibus , et omnia quae desiderantur huic non valent comparari .
She is more precious than rubies. None of the things you can desire are to be compared to her.
比珍珠 寶貴; 你一切所喜愛的,都不足與比較。

Longitudo dierum in dextera ejus , et in sinistra illius divitiae et gloria .
Length of days is in her right hand. In her left hand are riches and honor.
她右手有長壽, 左手有富貴。

Viae ejus viae pulchrae , et omnes semitae illius pacificae .
Her ways are ways of pleasantness. All her paths are peace.
她的道是安樂; 她的路全是平安。

Lignum vitae est his qui apprehenderint eam , et qui tenuerit eam beatus .
She is a tree of life to those who lay hold of her. Happy is everyone who retains her.
她與持守她的作生命樹; 持定她的,俱各有福。

Dominus sapientia fundavit terram ; stabilivit caelos prudentia .
By wisdom Yahweh founded the earth. By understanding, he established the heavens.
耶和華以智慧立地, 以聰明定天,

Sapientia illius eruperunt abyssi , et nubes rore concrescunt .
By his knowledge, the depths were broken up, and the skies drop down the dew.
以知識使深淵裂開, 使天空滴下甘露。
3:21▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
Fili mi , ne effluant haec ab oculis tuis . Custodi legem atque consilium ,
My son, let them not depart from your eyes. Keep sound wisdom and discretion,
我兒,要謹守真智慧和謀略, 不可使她離開你的眼目。
3:22▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
et erit vita animae tuae , et gratia faucibus tuis .
so they will be life to your soul, and grace for your neck.
這樣,她必作你的生命, 頸項的美飾。
3:23▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
Tunc ambulabis fiducialiter in via tua , et pes tuus non impinget .
Then you shall walk in your way securely. Your foot won’t stumble.
你就坦然行路, 不致碰腳。
3:24▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
Si dormieris , non timebis ; quiesces , et suavis erit somnus tuus .
When you lie down, you will not be afraid. Yes, you will lie down, and your sleep will be sweet.
你躺下,必不懼怕; 你躺臥,睡得香甜。
3:25▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
Ne paveas repentino terrore , et irruentes tibi potentias impiorum .
Don’t be afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it comes;
忽然來的驚恐,不要害怕; 惡人遭毀滅,也不要恐懼。
3:26▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
Dominus enim erit in latere tuo , et custodiet pedem tuum , ne capiaris .
for Yahweh will be your confidence, and will keep your foot from being taken.
因為耶和華是你所倚靠的; 他必保守你的腳不陷入網羅。
3:27▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
Noli prohibere benefacere eum qui potest : si vales , et ipse benefac .
Don’t withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in the power of your hand to do it.
你手若有行善的力量,不可推辭, 就當向那應得的人施行。
3:28▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
Ne dicas amico tuo : Vade , et revertere : cras dabo tibi : cum statim possis dare .
Don’t say to your neighbor, “Go, and come again; tomorrow I will give it to you,” when you have it by you.
你那裏若有現成的,不可對鄰舍說: 去吧,明天再來,我必給你。

Ne moliaris amico tuo malum , cum ille in te habeat fiduciam .
Don’t devise evil against your neighbor, since he dwells securely by you.
你的鄰舍既在你附近安居, 你不可設計害他。

Ne contendas adversus hominem frustra , cum ipse tibi nihil mali fecerit .
Don’t strive with a man without cause, if he has done you no harm.
人未曾加害與你, 不可無故與他相爭。

Ne aemuleris hominem injustum , nec imiteris vias ejus :
Don’t envy the man of violence. Choose none of his ways.
不可嫉妒強暴的人, 也不可選擇他所行的路。
3:32▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
quia abominatio Domini est omnis illusor , et cum simplicibus sermocinatio ejus .
For the perverse is an abomination to Yahweh, but his friendship is with the upright.
因為,乖僻人為耶和華所憎惡; 正直人為他所親密。

Egestas a Domino in domo impii ; habitacula autem justorum benedicentur .
Yahweh’s curse is in the house of the wicked, but he blesses the habitation of the righteous.
耶和華咒詛惡人的家庭, 賜福與義人的居所。

Ipse deludet illusores , et mansuetis dabit gratiam .
Surely he mocks the mockers, but he gives grace to the humble.
他譏誚那好譏誚的人, 賜恩給謙卑的人。
3:35▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
Gloriam sapientes possidebunt ; stultorum exaltatio ignominia .
The wise will inherit glory, but shame will be the promotion of fools.
智慧人必承受尊榮; 愚昧人高升也成為羞辱。
