1:1
ቀዳሚሁቃልውእቱወውእቱቃልኀበእግዚአብሔርውእቱወእግዚአብሔርውእቱቃል።
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
太初有道,道與上帝同在,道就是上帝。
1:2
ወከማሁቀዳሚሁእምቀዲሙኀበእግዚአብሔርውእቱ።
The same was in the beginning with God.
這道太初與上帝同在。
1:3
ወኵሉቦቱኮነወዘእንበሌሁሰአልቦዘኮነወኢምንትኒእምዘኮነ።
All things were made through him. Without him, nothing was made that has been made.
萬物是藉着他造的;凡被造的,沒有一樣不是藉着他造的。
1:4
ወዘሂኮነበእንቲኣሁቦቱሕይወትውእቱወሕይወትሰብርሃኑለዕጓለእመሕያውውእቱ።
In him was life, and the life was the light of men.
生命在他裏頭,這生命就是人的光。
1:5
ወብርሃንሰዘውስተጽልመትያበርህወያርኢወጽልመትኒኢይረክቦወኢይቀርቦ።
The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness hasn’t overcome it.
光照在黑暗裏,黑暗卻不接受光。
1:6
ወሀሎአሐዱብእሲዘተፈነወእምኀበእግዚአብሔርዘስሙዮሐንስ።
There came a man sent from God, whose name was John.
有一個人,是從上帝那裏差來的,名叫約翰。
1:7
ወውእቱመጽአለስምዕከመይኩንሰማዕተበእንተብርሃንከመኵሉይእመንቦቱ።
The same came as a witness, that he might testify about the light, that all might believe through him.
這人來,為要作見證,就是為光作見證,叫眾人因他可以信。
1:8
ወለሊሁሰኢኮነብርሃነዳእሙሰማዕተይኩንበእንተብርሃን።
He was not the light, but was sent that he might testify about the light.
他不是那光,乃是要為光作見證。
1:9
ወብርሃነጽድቅሰዘያበርህለኵሉሰብእዘመጽአውስተዓለም።
The true light that enlightens everyone was coming into the world.
那光是真光,照亮一切生在世上的人。
1:10
ወውስተዓለምሀሎወዓለምኒቦቱኮነወዓለምሰኢያእመሮ።
He was in the world, and the world was made through him, and the world didn’t recognize him.
他在世界,世界也是藉着他造的,世界卻不認識他。
1:11
ውስተዚኣሁመጽአወእሊኣሁሰኢተወክፍዎ።
He came to his own, and those who were his own didn’t receive him.
他到自己的地方來,自己的人倒不接待他。
1:12
ወለእለሰተወክፍዎወሀቦሙሥልጣነውሉደእግዚአብሔርይኩኑለእለአምኑበስሙ።
But as many as received him, to them he gave the right to become God’s children, to those who believe in his name:
凡接待他的,就是信他名的人,他就賜他們權柄作上帝的兒女。
1:13
እለኢኮኑእምነዘሥጋወደምወኢእምሥምረተብእሲወብእሲትአላእምእግዚአብሔርተወልዱ።
who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
I didn’t recognize him, but he who sent me to baptize in water said to me, ‘On whomever you will see the Spirit descending and remaining on him is he who baptizes in the Holy Spirit.’
and he looked at Jesus as he walked, and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God!”
他見耶穌行走,就說:「看哪,這是上帝的羔羊!」
1:37
ወሰምዕዎክልኤሆሙአርዳኢሁእንዘይብልከመዝወተለውዎለእግዚእኢየሱስ።
The two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus.
兩個門徒聽見他的話,就跟從了耶穌。
1:38
ወተመዪጦእግዚእኢየሱስርእዮሙእንዘይተልውዎወይቤሎሙምንተተኀሥሡ።
Jesus turned and saw them following, and said to them, “What are you looking for?” They said to him, “Rabbi” (which is to say, being interpreted, Teacher), “where are you staying?”
He brought him to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said, “You are Simon the son of Jonah. You shall be called Cephas” (which is by interpretation, Peter).
On the next day, he was determined to go out into Galilee, and he found Philip. Jesus said to him, “Follow me.”
又次日,耶穌想要往加利利去,遇見腓力,就對他說:「來跟從我吧。」
1:44
ወበሳኒታፈቀደይሑርገሊላወረከቦእግዚእኢየሱስለፊልጶስወይቤሎትልወኒ።
Now Philip was from Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter.
這腓力是伯賽大人,和安得烈、彼得同城。
1:45
ወውእቱሰፊልጶስዘቤተሳይዳእምሀገረእንድርያስወጴጥሮስ።
Philip found Nathanael, and said to him, “We have found him of whom Moses in the law and also the prophets, wrote: Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.”
He said to him, “Most certainly, I tell you all, hereafter you will see heaven opened, and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man.”
