15:1
מַֽעֲנֶה־רַּ֭ךְ יָשִׁ֣יב חֵמָ֑ה וּדְבַר־עֶ֝֗צֶב יַעֲלֶה־אָֽף׃
ὀργὴ ἀπόλλυσιν καὶ φρονίμους ἀπόκρισις δὲ ὑποπίπτουσα ἀποστρέφει θυμόν λόγος δὲ λυπηρὸς ἐγείρει ὀργάς
Responsio mollis frangit iram ; sermo durus suscitat furorem.
በነገር፡ ዘይትጋነይ፡ ይመይጥ፡ መዓተ፡ ባሕቱ፡ ቃል፡ ማኅዘኒ፡ ያነሥዕ፡ ጋእዘ።
A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.
15:2
לְשׁ֣וֹן חֲ֭כָמִים תֵּיטִ֣יב דָּ֑עַת וּפִ֥י כְ֝סִילִ֗ים יַבִּ֥יעַ אִוֶּֽלֶת׃
γλῶσσα σοφῶν καλὰ ἐπίσταται στόμα δὲ ἀφρόνων ἀναγγελεῖ κακά
Lingua sapientium ornat scientiam ; os fatuorum ebullit stultitiam.
ልበ፡ ጠቢባን፡ ሠናየ፡ ተአምር፡ ወአፈ፡ ዐብዳንሰ፡ ይዜኑ፡ እኩየ።
The tongue of the wise commends knowledge, but the mouths of fools gush out folly.
15:3
בְּֽכׇל־מָ֭קוֹם עֵינֵ֣י יְהֹוָ֑ה צֹ֝פ֗וֹת רָעִ֥ים וְטוֹבִֽים׃
ἐν παντὶ τόπῳ ὀφθαλμοὶ κυρίου σκοπεύουσιν κακούς τε καὶ ἀγαθούς
In omni loco, oculi Domini contemplantur bonos et malos.
ውስተ፡ ኵሉ፡ መካን፡ አዕይንቲሁ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር፡ ወያስተሐይፅ፡ እኩያነ፡ ወኄራነ።
Yahweh’s eyes are everywhere, keeping watch on the evil and the good.
15:4
מַרְפֵּ֣א לָ֭שׁוֹן עֵ֣ץ חַיִּ֑ים וְסֶ֥לֶף בָּ֝֗הּ שֶׁ֣בֶר בְּרֽוּחַ׃
ἴασις γλώσσης δένδρον ζωῆς ὁ δὲ συντηρῶν αὐτὴν πλησθήσεται πνεύματος
Lingua placabilis lignum vitae ; quae autem immoderata est conteret spiritum.
መፈውሰ፡ ልሳን፡ ዕፀ፡ ሕይወት፡ ውእቱ፡ ወዘሰ፡ የዓቅብ፡ ይመልእ፡ መንፈሰ።
A gentle tongue is a tree of life, but deceit in it crushes the spirit.
15:5
אֱוִ֗יל יִ֭נְאַץ מוּסַ֣ר אָבִ֑יו וְשֹׁמֵ֖ר תּוֹכַ֣חַת יַעְרִֽים׃
ἄφρων μυκτηρίζει παιδείαν πατρός ὁ δὲ φυλάσσων ἐντολὰς πανουργότερος
Stultus irridet disciplinam patris sui ; qui autem custodit increpationes astutior fiet. In abundanti justitia virtus maxima est : cogitationes autem impiorum eradicabuntur.
ወልድ፡ ዓብድ፡ ያስተአኪ፡ ተግሣፀ፡ አብ፡ ወዘሰ፡ የዓቅብ፡ ተግሣፀ፡ ጠቢብ፡ ውእቱ።
A fool despises his father’s correction, but he who heeds reproof shows prudence.
15:6
בֵּ֣ית צַ֭דִּיק חֹ֣סֶן רָ֑ב וּבִתְבוּאַ֖ת רָשָׁ֣ע נֶעְכָּֽרֶת׃
ἐν πλεοναζούσῃ δικαιοσύνῃ ἰσχὺς πολλή οἱ δὲ ἀσεβεῖς ὁλόρριζοι ἐκ γῆς ὀλοῦνται οἴκοις δικαίων ἰσχὺς πολλή καρποὶ δὲ ἀσεβῶν ἀπολοῦνται
Domus justi plurima fortitudo, et in fructibus impii conturbatio.
ወእደ፡ ትበዝኅ፡ ጽድቅ፡ ኃይል፡ ብዙኅ፡ ወረሲዓንሰ፡ እምሥርዎሙ፡ እምድር፡ ይሤረዉ።
In the house of the righteous is much treasure, but the income of the wicked brings trouble.
15:7
שִׂפְתֵ֣י חֲ֭כָמִים יְזָ֣רוּ דָ֑עַת וְלֵ֖ב כְּסִילִ֣ים לֹא־כֵֽן׃
χείλη σοφῶν δέδεται αἰσθήσει καρδίαι δὲ ἀφρόνων οὐκ ἀσφαλεῖς
Labia sapientium disseminabunt scientiam ; cor stultorum dissimile erit.
ከናፍረ፡ ጠበብት፡ እሡር፡ በአእምሮ፡ ወልበ፡ ዐብዳንሰ፡ አኮ፡ ጽኑዕ።
The lips of the wise spread knowledge; not so with the heart of fools.
15:8
זֶ֣בַח רְ֭שָׁעִים תּוֹעֲבַ֣ת יְהֹוָ֑ה וּתְפִלַּ֖ת יְשָׁרִ֣ים רְצוֹנֽוֹ׃
θυσίαι ἀσεβῶν βδέλυγμα κυρίῳ εὐχαὶ δὲ κατευθυνόντων δεκταὶ παρ’ αὐτῷ
Victimae impiorum abominabiles Domino ; vota justorum placabilia.
መሥዋዕተ፡ ረሲዓንሰ፡ ርኩስ፡ በኀበ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ወጸሎተ፡ ኄራንሰ፡ ሥሙር፡ በኀቤሁ።
The sacrifice made by the wicked is an abomination to Yahweh, but the prayer of the upright is his delight.
15:9
תּוֹעֲבַ֣ת יְ֭הֹוָה דֶּ֣רֶךְ רָשָׁ֑ע וּמְרַדֵּ֖ף צְדָקָ֣ה יֶאֱהָֽב׃
βδέλυγμα κυρίῳ ὁδοὶ ἀσεβοῦς διώκοντας δὲ δικαιοσύνην ἀγαπᾷ
Abominatio est Domino via impii ; qui sequitur justitiam diligitur ab eo.
ርኩስ፡ በኀበ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ፍኖተ፡ ረሲዓን፡ ወለእለሰ፡ ይዴግንዋ፡ ለጽድቅ፡ ያፈቅሮሙ፡ እግዚአብሔር።
The way of the wicked is an abomination to Yahweh, but he loves him who follows after righteousness.
15:10
מוּסָ֣ר רָ֭ע לְעֹזֵ֣ב אֹ֑רַח שׂוֹנֵ֖א תוֹכַ֣חַת יָמֽוּת׃
παιδεία ἀκάκου γνωρίζεται ὑπὸ τῶν παριόντων οἱ δὲ μισοῦντες ἐλέγχους τελευτῶσιν αἰσχρῶς
Doctrina mala deserenti viam vitae ; qui increpationes odit, morietur.
ትእምርተ፡ የዋሃን፡ ትትዓወቅ፡ በኀበ፡ እለ፡ የኀልፉ፡ ወእለሰ፡ ይጸልኡ፡ ዝልፈተ፡ ይመውቱ፡ በእኩይ።
There is stern discipline for one who forsakes the way. Whoever hates reproof shall die.
15:11
שְׁא֣וֹל וַ֭אֲבַדּוֹן נֶ֣גֶד יְהֹוָ֑ה אַ֝֗ף כִּֽי־לִבּ֥וֹת בְּֽנֵי־אָדָֽם׃
ᾅδης καὶ ἀπώλεια φανερὰ παρὰ τῷ κυρίῳ πῶς οὐχὶ καὶ αἱ καρδίαι τῶν ἀνθρώπων
Infernus et perditio coram Domino ; quanto magis corda filiorum hominum !
ገሃነም፡ ወሞት፡ ክሡታን፡ በኀበ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ እፎ፡ እንከ፡ ልበ፡ ሰብእኒ።
Sheol and Abaddon are before Yahweh— how much more then the hearts of the children of men!
15:12
לֹ֣א יֶאֱהַב־לֵ֭ץ הוֹכֵ֣חַֽ ל֑וֹ אֶל־חֲ֝כָמִ֗ים לֹ֣א יֵלֵֽךְ׃
οὐκ ἀγαπήσει ἀπαίδευτος τοὺς ἐλέγχοντας αὐτόν μετὰ δὲ σοφῶν οὐχ ὁμιλήσει
Non amat pestilens eum qui se corripit, nec ad sapientes graditur.
ኢያፈቅር፡ ዓብድ፡ እለ፡ ይጌሥፅዎ፡ ወምስለ፡ ጠቢባን፡ ኢይትናገር።
A scoffer doesn’t love to be reproved; he will not go to the wise.
15:13
לֵ֣ב שָׂ֭מֵחַ יֵיטִ֣ב פָּנִ֑ים וּבְעַצְּבַת־לֵ֝֗ב ר֣וּחַ נְכֵאָֽה׃
καρδίας εὐφραινομένης πρόσωπον θάλλει ἐν δὲ λύπαις οὔσης σκυθρωπάζει
Cor gaudens exhilarat faciem ; in moerore animi dejicitur spiritus.
ልብ፡ እምከመ፡ ትትፌሣሕ፡ ትበርህ፡ ገጽ፡ ወእመሰ፡ ተኀዝን፡ ትዴምን።
A glad heart makes a cheerful face, but an aching heart breaks the spirit.
15:14
לֵ֣ב נָ֭בוֹן יְבַקֶּשׁ־דָּ֑עַת (ופני) [וּפִ֥י] כְ֝סִילִ֗ים יִרְעֶ֥ה אִוֶּֽלֶת׃
καρδία ὀρθὴ ζητεῖ αἴσθησιν στόμα δὲ ἀπαιδεύτων γνώσεται κακά
Cor sapientis quaerit doctrinam, et os stultorum pascitur imperitia.
ልብ፡ ርትዕት፡ ተኃሥሥ፡ አእምሮ፡ አፈ፡ ዓብዳንሰ፡ የኃሥሥ፡ እከየ፡ ኵሎ፡ መዋዕለ።
The heart of one who has understanding seeks knowledge, but the mouths of fools feed on folly.
15:15
כׇּל־יְמֵ֣י עָנִ֣י רָעִ֑ים וְטֽוֹב־לֵ֝֗ב מִשְׁתֶּ֥ה תָמִֽיד׃
πάντα τὸν χρόνον οἱ ὀφθαλμοὶ τῶν κακῶν προσδέχονται κακά οἱ δὲ ἀγαθοὶ ἡσυχάζουσιν διὰ παντός
Omnes dies pauperis, mali ; secura mens quasi juge convivium.
አዕንተ፡ እኩያን፡ ይሴፈዋ፡ እኩየ፡ ወኄራንሰ፡ ያረምሙ፡ በኵሉ፡ ጊዜ።
All the days of the afflicted are wretched, but one who has a cheerful heart enjoys a continual feast.
15:16
טוֹב־מְ֭עַט בְּיִרְאַ֣ת יְהֹוָ֑ה מֵאוֹצָ֥ר רָ֝֗ב וּמְה֥וּמָה בֽוֹ׃
κρείσσων μικρὰ μερὶς μετὰ φόβου κυρίου ἢ θησαυροὶ μεγάλοι μετὰ ἀφοβίας
Melius est parum cum timore Domini, quam thesauri magni et insatiabiles.
ትኄይስ፡ ንስቲት፡ መክፈልት፡ ዘበፍርሃተ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ እመዛግብት፡ ዓበይት፡ ዘበኢፈሪህ።
Better is little, with the fear of Yahweh, than great treasure with trouble.
15:17
ט֤וֹב אֲרֻחַ֣ת יָ֭רָק וְאַהֲבָה־שָׁ֑ם מִשּׁ֥וֹר אָ֝ב֗וּס וְשִׂנְאָה־בֽוֹ׃
κρείσσων ξενισμὸς λαχάνων πρὸς φιλίαν καὶ χάριν ἢ παράθεσις μόσχων μετὰ ἔχθρας
Melius est vocari ad olera cum caritate, quam ad vitulum saginatum cum odio.
ይኄይስ፡ ፍተ፡ ሐምል፡ ፍቅር፡ ዘቦቱ፡ እምላሕም፡ መግዝዕ፡ ዘቦቱ፡ ጽልእ።
Better is a dinner of herbs, where love is, than a fattened calf with hatred.
15:18
אִ֣ישׁ חֵ֭מָה יְגָרֶ֣ה מָד֑וֹן וְאֶ֥רֶךְ אַ֝פַּ֗יִם יַשְׁקִ֥יט רִֽיב׃
ἀνὴρ θυμώδης παρασκευάζει μάχας μακρόθυμος δὲ καὶ τὴν μέλλουσαν καταπραΰνει μακρόθυμος ἀνὴρ κατασβέσει κρίσεις ὁ δὲ ἀσεβὴς ἐγείρει μᾶλλον
Vir iracundus provocat rixas ; qui patiens est mitigat suscitatas.
ብእሲ፡ መዓትም፡ ያስተዴሉ፡ ጋእዘ፡ ወመስተዓግሥሂ፡ ብእሲ፡ እንተ፡ ኮነትኒ፡ ያጠፍእ፡ ወረሲዕሰ፡ ያነሥእ፡ ጥቀ፡ ጽልእ።
A wrathful man stirs up contention, but one who is slow to anger appeases strife.
15:19
דֶּ֣רֶךְ עָ֭צֵל כִּמְשֻׂ֣כַת חָ֑דֶק וְאֹ֖רַח יְשָׁרִ֣ים סְלֻלָֽה׃
ὁδοὶ ἀεργῶν ἐστρωμέναι ἀκάνθαις αἱ δὲ τῶν ἀνδρείων τετριμμέναι
Iter pigrorum quasi sepes spinarum ; via justorum absque offendiculo.
ፍናወ፡ ሃካይያን፡ ንጹፍ፡ አሥዋክ፡ ወዘጽኑዓንሰ፡ መጽያሕት።
The way of the sluggard is like a thorn patch, but the path of the upright is a highway.
15:20
בֵּ֣ן חָ֭כָם יְשַׂמַּח־אָ֑ב וּכְסִ֥יל אָ֝דָ֗ם בּוֹזֶ֥ה אִמּֽוֹ׃
υἱὸς σοφὸς εὐφραίνει πατέρα υἱὸς δὲ ἄφρων μυκτηρίζει μητέρα αὐτοῦ
Filius sapiens laetificat patrem, et stultus homo despicit matrem suam.
ወልድ፡ ጠቢብ፡ ያስተፌሥሕ፡ አባሁ፡ ወወልድ፡ ዓብድ፡ ያጼእል፡ እሞ።
A wise son makes a father glad, but a foolish man despises his mother.
15:21
אִ֭וֶּלֶת שִׂמְחָ֣ה לַחֲסַר־לֵ֑ב וְאִ֥ישׁ תְּ֝בוּנָ֗ה יְיַשֶּׁר־לָֽכֶת׃
ἀνοήτου τρίβοι ἐνδεεῖς φρενῶν ἀνὴρ δὲ φρόνιμος κατευθύνων πορεύεται
Stultitia gaudium stulto, et vir prudens dirigit gressus suos.
ፍናወ፡ ዓብድ፡ ነዳየ፡ አእምሮ፡ ጠዋያት፡ ወብእሲሰ፡ ጠቢብ፡ አርቲዖ፡ የሐውር።
Folly is joy to one who is void of wisdom, but a man of understanding keeps his way straight.
15:22
הָפֵ֣ר מַ֭חֲשָׁבוֹת בְּאֵ֣ין ס֑וֹד וּבְרֹ֖ב יוֹעֲצִ֣ים תָּקֽוּם׃
ὑπερτίθενται λογισμοὺς οἱ μὴ τιμῶντες συνέδρια ἐν δὲ καρδίαις βουλευομένων μένει βουλή
Dissipantur cogitationes ubi non est consilium ; ubi vero sunt plures consiliarii, confirmantur.
ያጠርዩ፡ ሕሊና፡ እለ፡ ያከብሩ፡ ማኅበረ፡ ወውስተ፡ ልበ፡ መካርያን፡ ትነብር፡ ምክር።
Where there is no counsel, plans fail; but in a multitude of counselors they are established.
15:23
שִׂמְחָ֣ה לָ֭אִישׁ בְּמַעֲנֵה־פִ֑יו וְדָבָ֖ר בְּעִתּ֣וֹ מַה־טּֽוֹב׃
οὐ μὴ ὑπακούσῃ ὁ κακὸς αὐτῇ οὐδὲ μὴ εἴπῃ καίριόν τι καὶ καλὸν τῷ κοινῷ
Laetatur homo in sententia oris sui, et sermo opportunus est optimus.
ወኢይሰምዓ፡ ላቲ፡ እኩይ፡ ወአልቦ፡ ዘይብል፡ ጥዑም፡ ወሠናይ፡ ለማኅበር።
Joy comes to a man with the reply of his mouth. How good is a word at the right time!
15:24
אֹ֣רַח חַ֭יִּים לְמַ֣עְלָה לְמַשְׂכִּ֑יל לְמַ֥עַן ס֝֗וּר מִשְּׁא֥וֹל מָֽטָּה׃
ὁδοὶ ζωῆς διανοήματα συνετοῦ ἵνα ἐκκλίνας ἐκ τοῦ ᾅδου σωθῇ
Semita vitae super eruditum, ut declinet de inferno novissimo.
ፍናወ፡ ሕይወት፡ ሕሊናሁ፡ ለጠቢብ፡ ከመ፡ ተግኂሦ፡ እም፡ ሲኦል፡ ይድኅን።
The path of life leads upward for the wise, to keep him from going downward to Sheol.
15:25
בֵּ֣ית גֵּ֭אִים יִסַּ֥ח׀יְהֹוָ֑ה וְ֝יַצֵּ֗ב גְּב֣וּל אַלְמָנָֽה׃
οἴκους ὑβριστῶν κατασπᾷ κύριος ἐστήρισεν δὲ ὅριον χήρας
Domum superborum demolietur Dominus, et firmos faciet terminos viduae.
አብያተ፡ ጸአልያን፡ ያንኅል፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ወያጸንዕ፡ ወሰነ፡ መበለት።
Yahweh will uproot the house of the proud, but he will keep the widow’s borders intact.
15:26
תּוֹעֲבַ֣ת יְ֭הֹוָה מַחְשְׁב֣וֹת רָ֑ע וּ֝טְהֹרִ֗ים אִמְרֵי־נֹֽעַם׃
βδέλυγμα κυρίῳ λογισμὸς ἄδικος ἁγνῶν δὲ ῥήσεις σεμναί
Abominatio Domini cogitationes malae, et purus sermo pulcherrimus firmabitur ab eo.
ምኑን፡ በኀበ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ሐልዮ፡ ዓመፃ፡ ወለንጹሐንሰ፡ ነገሮሙ፡ አዳም።
Yahweh detests the thoughts of the wicked, but the thoughts of the pure are pleasing.
15:27
עֹכֵ֣ר בֵּ֭יתוֹ בּוֹצֵ֣עַ בָּ֑צַע וְשׂוֹנֵ֖א מַתָּנֹ֣ת יִחְיֶֽה׃
ἐξόλλυσιν ἑαυτὸν ὁ δωρολήμπτης ὁ δὲ μισῶν δώρων λήμψεις σῴζεται ἐλεημοσύναις καὶ πίστεσιν ἀποκαθαίρονται ἁμαρτίαι τῷ δὲ φόβῳ κυρίου ἐκκλίνει πᾶς ἀπὸ κακοῦ
Conturbat domum suam qui sectatur avaritiam ; qui autem odit munera, vivet. Per misericordiam et fidem purgantur peccata : per timorem autem Domini declinat omnis a malo.
ያኃጒል፡ ርእሶ፡ ዘሕልያነ፡ ይነሥእ፡ ወዘይጸልእሰ፡ ነሢአ፡ ሕልያን፡ ይድኅን።
He who is greedy for gain troubles his own house, but he who hates bribes will live.
15:28
לֵ֣ב צַ֭דִּיק יֶהְגֶּ֣ה לַעֲנ֑וֹת וּפִ֥י רְ֝שָׁעִ֗ים יַבִּ֥יעַ רָעֽוֹת׃
καρδίαι δικαίων μελετῶσιν πίστεις στόμα δὲ ἀσεβῶν ἀποκρίνεται κακά δεκταὶ παρὰ κυρίῳ ὁδοὶ ἀνθρώπων δικαίων διὰ δὲ αὐτῶν καὶ οἱ ἐχθροὶ φίλοι γίνονται
Mens justi meditatur obedientiam ; os impiorum redundat malis.
በምጽዋት፡ በሃይማኖት፡ ይሠረይ፡ ኃጢአት፡ ወበፈሪሃ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ይትገኃሥ፡ ኵሉ፡ እኩይ።
The heart of the righteous weighs answers, but the mouth of the wicked gushes out evil.
15:29
רָח֣וֹק יְ֭הֹוָה מֵרְשָׁעִ֑ים וּתְפִלַּ֖ת צַדִּיקִ֣ים יִשְׁמָֽע׃
μακρὰν ἀπέχει ὁ θεὸς ἀπὸ ἀσεβῶν εὐχαῖς δὲ δικαίων ἐπακούει κρείσσων ὀλίγη λῆμψις μετὰ δικαιοσύνης ἢ πολλὰ γενήματα μετὰ ἀδικίας καρδία ἀνδρὸς λογιζέσθω δίκαια ἵνα ὑπὸ τοῦ θεοῦ διορθωθῇ τὰ διαβήματα αὐτοῦ
Longe est Dominus ab impiis, et orationes justorum exaudiet.
ልበ፡ ጻድቃን፡ ይትሜሀር፡ ሃይማኖተ፡ ወአፈ፡ ረሲዓንሰ፡ ያወሥእ፡ እኩያተ።
Yahweh is far from the wicked, but he hears the prayer of the righteous.
15:30
מְֽאוֹר־עֵ֭ינַיִם יְשַׂמַּֽח־לֵ֑ב שְׁמוּעָ֥ה ט֝וֹבָ֗ה תְּדַשֶּׁן־עָֽצֶם׃
θεωρῶν ὀφθαλμὸς καλὰ εὐφραίνει καρδίαν φήμη δὲ ἀγαθὴ πιαίνει ὀστᾶ
Lux oculorum laetificat animam ; fama bona impinguat ossa.
ሥሙራት፡ በኀበ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ፍናወ፡ ሰብእ፡ ጻድቃን፡ ወበእንቲአሆሙ፡ ጸላእትኒ፡ አዕርክተ፡ ይከውኑ።
The light of the eyes rejoices the heart. Good news gives health to the bones.
15:31
אֹ֗זֶן שֹׁ֭מַעַת תּוֹכַ֣חַת חַיִּ֑ים בְּקֶ֖רֶב חֲכָמִ֣ים תָּלִֽין׃
—
Auris quae audit increpationes vitae in medio sapientium commorabitur.
ነዋኀ፡ ይርኅቅ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ እምረሲዓን፡ ወጸሎተ፡ ጻድቃንሰ፡ ይሰምዕ፡ ይኄይስ፡ ኅዳጥ፡ ኅብስት፡ ምስለ፡ ጽድቅ፡ እምብዙኅ፡ ፍሬ፡ ዘምስለ፡ ዓመፃ።
The ear that listens to reproof lives, and will be at home among the wise.
15:32
פּוֹרֵ֣עַ מ֭וּסָר מוֹאֵ֣ס נַפְשׁ֑וֹ וְשׁוֹמֵ֥עַ תּ֝וֹכַ֗חַת ק֣וֹנֶה לֵּֽב׃
ὃς ἀπωθεῖται παιδείαν μισεῖ ἑαυτόν ὁ δὲ τηρῶν ἐλέγχους ἀγαπᾷ ψυχὴν αὐτοῦ
Qui abjicit disciplinam despicit animam suam ; qui autem acquiescit increpationibus possessor est cordis.
ልበ፡ ብእሲ፡ ኄር፡ ይሔሊ፡ ጽድቀ፡ ከመ፡ እምኀበ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ይረትዕ፡ ኣሠሩ፡ ዓይን፡ ዘይኔጽር፡ ሠናየ፡ ያስተፌሥሕ፡ ልበ፡ ወዜና፡ ኂሩት፡ ያጠልል፡ አዕፅምትየ።
He who refuses correction despises his own soul, but he who listens to reproof gets understanding.
15:33
יִרְאַ֣ת יְ֭הֹוָה מוּסַ֣ר חׇכְמָ֑ה וְלִפְנֵ֖י כָב֣וֹד עֲנָוָֽה׃
φόβος θεοῦ παιδεία καὶ σοφία καὶ ἀρχὴ δόξης ἀποκριθήσεται αὐτῇ
Timor Domini disciplina sapientiae, et gloriam praecedit humilitas.
ዘይሰምዕ፡ ዘለፋ፡ ጠቢብ፡ ምስለ፡ ጠቢባን፡ ይዴመር።
