3:1
הִנְנִ֤י שֹׁלֵ֙חַ֙ מַלְאָכִ֔י וּפִנָּה־דֶ֖רֶךְ לְפָנָ֑י וּפִתְאֹם֩ יָב֨וֹא אֶל־הֵיכָל֜וֹ הָאָד֣וֹן׀ אֲשֶׁר־אַתֶּ֣ם מְבַקְשִׁ֗ים וּמַלְאַ֨ךְ הַבְּרִ֜ית אֲשֶׁר־אַתֶּ֤ם חֲפֵצִים֙ הִנֵּה־בָ֔א אָמַ֖ר יְהֹוָ֥ה צְבָאֽוֹת׃
ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἐξαποστέλλω τὸν ἄγγελόν μου καὶ ἐπιβλέψεται ὁδὸν πρὸ προσώπου μου καὶ ἐξαίφνης ἥξει εἰς τὸν ναὸν ἑαυτοῦ κύριος ὃν ὑμεῖς ζητεῖτε καὶ ὁ ἄγγελος τῆς διαθήκης ὃν ὑμεῖς θέλετε ἰδοὺ ἔρχεται λέγει κύριος παντοκράτωρ
Ecce ego mitto angelum meum, et praeparabit viam ante faciem meam : et statim veniet ad templum suum Dominator quem vos quaeritis, et angelus testamenti quem vos vultis. Ecce venit, dicit Dominus exercituum.
ናሁ፡ አነ፡ እፌኑ፡ መልአክየ፡ ወያርኢ፡ ፍትየ፡ ቅድመ፡ ገጽከ፡ ወይመጽእ፡ ብተ፡ ውስተ፡ ጽርሑ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ዘአንትሙ፡ ተኀሥሡ፡ መልአከ፡ ስርዓትየ፡ ዘአንትሙ፡ ትፈቅዱ፡ ናሁ። ይመጽእ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ዘኲሎ፡ ይልክ።
“Behold, I send my messenger, and he will prepare the way before me! The Lord, whom you seek, will suddenly come to his temple. Behold, the messenger of the covenant, whom you desire, is coming!” says Yahweh of Armies.
3:2
וּמִ֤י מְכַלְכֵּל֙ אֶת־י֣וֹם בּוֹא֔וֹ וּמִ֥י הָעֹמֵ֖ד בְּהֵרָאוֹת֑וֹ כִּי־הוּא֙ כְּאֵ֣שׁ מְצָרֵ֔ף וּכְבֹרִ֖ית מְכַבְּסִֽים׃
καὶ τίς ὑπομενεῖ ἡμέραν εἰσόδου αὐτοῦ ἢ τίς ὑποστήσεται ἐν τῇ ὀπτασίᾳ αὐτοῦ διότι αὐτὸς εἰσπορεύεται ὡς πῦρ χωνευτηρίου καὶ ὡς πόα πλυνόντων
Et quis poterit cogitare diem adventus ejus, et quis stabit ad videndum eum ? ipse enim quasi ignis conflans, et quasi herba fullonum :
ወመኑ፡ ይትዔገሣ፡ ለመዐተ፡ ምጽአቱ፡ ወመኑ፡ ይትቃወማ፡ ለእሳተ፡ ርእየቱ፡ እሰመ፡ ለሊሁ፡ የሐውር፡ ከመ፡ እሳተ፡ ምንሃብ፡ ዋካማ፡ ሣዕረ፡ እለ፡ የሐፅቡ።
“But who can endure the day of his coming? And who will stand when he appears? For he is like a refiner’s fire, and like launderers’ soap;
3:3
וְיָשַׁ֨ב מְצָרֵ֤ף וּמְטַהֵר֙ כֶּ֔סֶף וְטִהַ֤ר אֶת־בְּנֵֽי־לֵוִי֙ וְזִקַּ֣ק אֹתָ֔ם כַּזָּהָ֖ב וְכַכָּ֑סֶף וְהָיוּ֙ לַֽיהֹוָ֔ה מַגִּישֵׁ֥י מִנְחָ֖ה בִּצְדָקָֽה׃
καὶ καθιεῖται χωνεύων καὶ καθαρίζων ὡς τὸ ἀργύριον καὶ ὡς τὸ χρυσίον καὶ καθαρίσει τοὺς υἱοὺς Λευι καὶ χεεῖ αὐτοὺς ὡς τὸ χρυσίον καὶ ὡς τὸ ἀργύριον καὶ ἔσονται τῷ κυρίῳ προσάγοντες θυσίαν ἐν δικαιοσύνῃ
et sedebit conflans, et emundans argentum : et purgabit filios Levi, et colabit eos quasi aurum et quasi argentum, et erunt Domino offerentes sacrificia in justitia.
ወይነብር፡ ወይሰብክ፡ ወያጽሪ፡ ከመ፡ ብሩር፡ ወከመ፡ ወርቅ፡ ወይነጽፎሙ፡ ለደቂቀ፡ ሌዊ፡ ወይሠጠዎሙ፡ ከመ፡ ወርቅ፡ ወከመ፡ ብሩር፡ ወይከውንዎ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር፡ እለ፡ ያበአኡ፡ መስዋዕተ፡ ባጽድቅ።
and he will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver, and he will purify the sons of Levi, and refine them as gold and silver; and they shall offer to Yahweh offerings in righteousness.
3:4
וְעָֽרְבָה֙ לַֽיהֹוָ֔ה מִנְחַ֥ת יְהוּדָ֖ה וִירוּשָׁלָ֑͏ִם כִּימֵ֣י עוֹלָ֔ם וּכְשָׁנִ֖ים קַדְמֹנִיֹּֽת׃
καὶ ἀρέσει τῷ κυρίῳ θυσία Ιουδα καὶ Ιερουσαλημ καθὼς αἱ ἡμέραι τοῦ αἰῶνος καὶ καθὼς τὰ ἔτη τὰ ἔμπροσθεν
Et placebit Domino sacrificium Juda et Jerusalem, sicut dies saeculi, et sicut anni antiqui.
ወታሠምሮ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር፡ መስዋዕተ፡ ይሁዳ፡ ወኢየሩሳሌም፡ በአምጣነ፡ መዋዕለ፡ ዓለም፡ ወበከመ፡ ዐመተ፡ ቀዲመሙ።
Then the offering of Judah and Jerusalem will be pleasant to Yahweh as in the days of old and as in ancient years.
3:5
וְקָרַבְתִּ֣י אֲלֵיכֶם֮ לַמִּשְׁפָּט֒ וְהָיִ֣יתִי׀ עֵ֣ד מְמַהֵ֗ר בַּֽמְכַשְּׁפִים֙ וּבַמְנָ֣אֲפִ֔ים וּבַנִּשְׁבָּעִ֖ים לַשָּׁ֑קֶר וּבְעֹשְׁקֵ֣י שְׂכַר־שָׂ֠כִ֠יר אַלְמָנָ֨ה וְיָת֤וֹם וּמַטֵּי־גֵר֙ וְלֹ֣א יְרֵא֔וּנִי אָמַ֖ר יְהֹוָ֥ה צְבָאֽוֹת׃
καὶ προσάξω πρὸς ὑμᾶς ἐν κρίσει καὶ ἔσομαι μάρτυς ταχὺς ἐπὶ τὰς φαρμακοὺς καὶ ἐπὶ τὰς μοιχαλίδας καὶ ἐπὶ τοὺς ὀμνύοντας τῷ ὀνόματί μου ἐπὶ ψεύδει καὶ ἐπὶ τοὺς ἀποστεροῦντας μισθὸν μισθωτοῦ καὶ τοὺς καταδυναστεύοντας χήραν καὶ τοὺς κονδυλίζοντας ὀρφανοὺς καὶ τοὺς ἐκκλίνοντας κρίσιν προσηλύτου καὶ τοὺς μὴ φοβουμένους με λέγει κύριος παντοκράτωρ
Et accedam ad vos in judicio, et ero testis velox maleficis, et adulteris, et perjuris, et qui calumniantur mercedem mercenarii, viduas et pupillos, et opprimunt peregrinum, nec timuerunt me, dicit Dominus exercituum.
ወእመጽእ፡ ኀቤክሙ፡ በፍትሕ፡ ወእከውኖሙ፡ ሰማዕተ፡ ለሰብአ፡ ሥራይ፡ ወለዘማውያ፡ ወለእለ፡ ይምሕሉ፡ በሐሰት፡ በስምየ፡ ወለእለ፡ የሀይድዎ፡ ዓስቦ፡ ለዓሳብ፡ ወለእለ፡ ይኮርዕዎሙ፡ ለእቤራት፡ ወለእጓለ፡ ማውታ፡ ዋላእለ፡ ይመይጡ፡ ፍትሐ፡ ለፈላሲ፡ ወለእለ፡ ኢይፈርሀ፡ ስምየ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ዘኲሎ፡ ይመልክ።
I will come near to you to judgment. I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, against the adulterers, against the perjurers, and against those who oppress the hireling in his wages, the widow, and the fatherless, and who deprive the foreigner of justice, and don’t fear me,” says Yahweh of Armies.
3:6
כִּ֛י אֲנִ֥י יְהֹוָ֖ה לֹ֣א שָׁנִ֑יתִי וְאַתֶּ֥ם בְּנֵֽי־יַעֲקֹ֖ב לֹ֥א כְלִיתֶֽם׃
διότι ἐγὼ κύριος ὁ θεὸς ὑμῶν καὶ οὐκ ἠλλοίωμαι καὶ ὑμεῖς υἱοὶ Ιακωβ οὐκ ἀπέχεσθε
Ego enim Dominus, et non mutor : et vos filii Jacob, non estis consumpti.
በከመ፡ አነ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ አምላክክሙ፡ ኢይትዊለጥ።
“For I, Yahweh, don’t change; therefore you, sons of Jacob, are not consumed.
3:7
לְמִימֵ֨י אֲבֹתֵיכֶ֜ם סַרְתֶּ֤ם מֵֽחֻקַּי֙ וְלֹ֣א שְׁמַרְתֶּ֔ם שׁ֤וּבוּ אֵלַי֙ וְאָשׁ֣וּבָה אֲלֵיכֶ֔ם אָמַ֖ר יְהֹוָ֣ה צְבָא֑וֹת וַאֲמַרְתֶּ֖ם בַּמֶּ֥ה נָשֽׁוּב׃
ἀπὸ τῶν ἀδικιῶν τῶν πατέρων ὑμῶν ἐξεκλίνατε νόμιμά μου καὶ οὐκ ἐφυλάξασθε ἐπιστρέψατε πρός με καὶ ἐπιστραφήσομαι πρὸς ὑμᾶς λέγει κύριος παντοκράτωρ καὶ εἴπατε ἐν τίνι ἐπιστρέψωμεν
A diebus enim patrum vestrorum recessistis a legitimis meis, et non custodistis : revertimini ad me, et revertar ad vos, dicit Dominus exercituum. Et dixistis : In quo revertemur ?
ከመሁ፡ አንትሙኒ፡ ደቂቀ፡ ያቆብ፡ ኢተኀድጉ፡ ዓመፃ፡ ዘአበዊክሙ፡ እለ፡ ዐለው፡ ህግየ፡ ወኢዐቀብዎ፡ ተመየጡ፡ ኀቤየ፡ ወእትመየጥ፡ ኀቤክሙ፡ ይቤ፡ ግዚአብሔር፡ ዘኲሎ፡ ይመልክ፡ ወአንትሙሰ፡ ትቤሉ፡ በምንትኑ፡ ንትመየጥ።
From the days of your fathers you have turned away from my ordinances and have not kept them. Return to me, and I will return to you,” says Yahweh of Armies. “But you say, ‘How shall we return?’
3:8
הֲיִקְבַּ֨ע אָדָ֜ם אֱלֹהִ֗ים כִּ֤י אַתֶּם֙ קֹבְעִ֣ים אֹתִ֔י וַאֲמַרְתֶּ֖ם בַּמֶּ֣ה קְבַֽעֲנ֑וּךָ הַֽמַּעֲשֵׂ֖ר וְהַתְּרוּמָֽה׃
εἰ πτερνιεῖ ἄνθρωπος θεόν διότι ὑμεῖς πτερνίζετέ με καὶ ἐρεῖτε ἐν τίνι ἐπτερνίκαμέν σε ὅτι τὰ ἐπιδέκατα καὶ αἱ ἀπαρχαὶ μεθ’ ὑμῶν εἰσιν
Si affliget homo Deum, quia vos configitis me ? Et dixistis : In quo configimus te ? In decimis et in primitiis.
ያዐቅጾኑ፡ ሰብእ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር፡ ናሁከ፡ አንትሙ፡ አዕቀጽክሙኒ፡ ወቀዳሚያቲክሙኒ፡ ኀቤክሙ፡ ውእቱ።
Will a man rob God? Yet you rob me! But you say, ‘How have we robbed you?’ In tithes and offerings.
3:9
בַּמְּאֵרָה֙ אַתֶּ֣ם נֵֽאָרִ֔ים וְאֹתִ֖י אַתֶּ֣ם קֹבְעִ֑ים הַגּ֖וֹי כֻּלּֽוֹ׃
καὶ ἀποβλέποντες ὑμεῖς ἀποβλέπετε καὶ ἐμὲ ὑμεῖς πτερνίζετε τὸ ἔθνος συνετελέσθη
Et in penuria vos maledicti estis, et me vos configitis gens tota.
ወተዐውሮ፡ ተዐወርክሙ፡ አንትሙ፡ አዕቅጽከሙኒ፡ ኪያየ፡ ወዓመቲሁኒ፡ ኀልቀ።
You are cursed with the curse; for you rob me, even this whole nation.
3:10
הָבִ֨יאוּ אֶת־כׇּל־הַֽמַּעֲשֵׂ֜ר אֶל־בֵּ֣ית הָאוֹצָ֗ר וִיהִ֥י טֶ֙רֶף֙ בְּבֵיתִ֔י וּבְחָנ֤וּנִי נָא֙ בָּזֹ֔את אָמַ֖ר יְהֹוָ֣ה צְבָא֑וֹת אִם־לֹ֧א אֶפְתַּ֣ח לָכֶ֗ם אֵ֚ת אֲרֻבּ֣וֹת הַשָּׁמַ֔יִם וַהֲרִיקֹתִ֥י לָכֶ֛ם בְּרָכָ֖ה עַד־בְּלִי־דָֽי׃
καὶ εἰσηνέγκατε πάντα τὰ ἐκφόρια εἰς τοὺς θησαυρούς καὶ ἐν τῷ οἴκῳ αὐτοῦ ἔσται ἡ διαρπαγὴ αὐτοῦ ἐπισκέψασθε δὴ ἐν τούτῳ λέγει κύριος παντοκράτωρ ἐὰν μὴ ἀνοίξω ὑμῖν τοὺς καταρράκτας τοῦ οὐρανοῦ καὶ ἐκχεῶ ὑμῖν τὴν εὐλογίαν μου ἕως τοῦ ἱκανωθῆναι
Inferte omnem decimam in horreum, et sit cibus in domo mea : et probate me super hoc, dicit Dominus : si non aperuero vobis cataractas caeli, et effudero vobis benedictionem usque ad abundantiam :
ወአባእክሙ፡ ኲሎ፡ ማዕረረክሙ፡ ውስተ፡ መዛግብት፡ ወይከውን፡ በርበረ፡ ውስተ፡ ቤቱ። ሐልይዎኬ፡ ለዝንቱ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ዘኲሎ፡ ይመል። ለእመ፡ ኢያርኀውኩ፡ ለክሙ፡ አስራበ፡ ሰማይ፡ ወእሰውጥ፡ ለክሙ፡ አስራበ፡ ሰማይ፡ ወእሰውጥ፡ ለክሙ፡ በረከትየ፡ እስከ፡ ያአክለክሙ።
Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house, and test me now in this,” says Yahweh of Armies, “if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there will not be enough room for.
3:11
וְגָעַרְתִּ֤י לָכֶם֙ בָּֽאֹכֵ֔ל וְלֹא־יַשְׁחִ֥ת לָכֶ֖ם אֶת־פְּרִ֣י הָאֲדָמָ֑ה וְלֹא־תְשַׁכֵּ֨ל לָכֶ֤ם הַגֶּ֙פֶן֙ בַּשָּׂדֶ֔ה אָמַ֖ר יְהֹוָ֥ה צְבָאֽוֹת׃
καὶ διαστελῶ ὑμῖν εἰς βρῶσιν καὶ οὐ μὴ διαφθείρω ὑμῶν τὸν καρπὸν τῆς γῆς καὶ οὐ μὴ ἀσθενήσῃ ὑμῶν ἡ ἄμπελος ἡ ἐν τῷ ἀγρῷ λέγει κύριος παντοκράτωρ
et increpabo pro vobis devorantem, et non corrumpet fructum terrae vestrae, nec erit sterilis vinea in agro, dicit Dominus exercituum.
ወእሁበክሙ፡ ለሲሳይክሙ፡ ወኢያማስን፡ ለክሙ፡ ፍሬ፡ ምድርክሙ፡ ወኢየዐብር፡ ወይንክ፡ ዘውስተ፡ ገዳም፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ዘኲሎ፡ ይመልክ።
I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast its fruit before its time in the field,” says Yahweh of Armies.
3:12
וְאִשְּׁר֥וּ אֶתְכֶ֖ם כׇּל־הַגּוֹיִ֑ם כִּֽי־תִהְי֤וּ אַתֶּם֙ אֶ֣רֶץ חֵ֔פֶץ אָמַ֖ר יְהֹוָ֥ה צְבָאֽוֹת׃ {פ}
καὶ μακαριοῦσιν ὑμᾶς πάντα τὰ ἔθνη διότι ἔσεσθε ὑμεῖς γῆ θελητή λέγει κύριος παντοκράτωρ
Et beatos vos dicent omnes gentes : eritis enim vos terra desiderabilis, dicit Dominus exercituum.
ወየስተበፅዑክሙ፡ ኲሉ፡ አህዛብ፡ እስመ፡ ትከውኑ፡ አንትሙ፡ ከመ፡ ምድር፡ ስምርት፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ዘኲሎ፡ ይመልክ።
“All nations shall call you blessed, for you will be a delightful land,” says Yahweh of Armies.
3:13
חָזְק֥וּ עָלַ֛י דִּבְרֵיכֶ֖ם אָמַ֣ר יְהֹוָ֑ה וַאֲמַרְתֶּ֕ם מַה־נִּדְבַּ֖רְנוּ עָלֶֽיךָ׃
ἐβαρύνατε ἐπ’ ἐμὲ τοὺς λόγους ὑμῶν λέγει κύριος καὶ εἴπατε ἐν τίνι κατελαλήσαμεν κατὰ σοῦ
Invaluerunt super me verba vestra, dicit Dominus.
አክበድክሙ፡ ላዕሌየ፡ ነገረክሙ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ወትብሉ፡ በምንት፡ ሐመይናከ።
“Your words have been harsh against me,” says Yahweh. “Yet you say, ‘What have we spoken against you?’
3:14
אֲמַרְתֶּ֕ם שָׁ֖וְא עֲבֹ֣ד אֱלֹהִ֑ים וּמַה־בֶּ֗צַע כִּ֤י שָׁמַ֙רְנוּ֙ מִשְׁמַרְתּ֔וֹ וְכִ֤י הָלַ֙כְנוּ֙ קְדֹ֣רַנִּ֔ית מִפְּנֵ֖י יְהֹוָ֥ה צְבָאֽוֹת׃
εἴπατε μάταιος ὁ δουλεύων θεῷ καὶ τί πλέον ὅτι ἐφυλάξαμεν τὰ φυλάγματα αὐτοῦ καὶ διότι ἐπορεύθημεν ἱκέται πρὸ προσώπου κυρίου παντοκράτορος
Et dixistis : Quid locuti sumus contra te ? Dixistis : Vanus est qui servit Deo : et quod emolumentum quia custodivimus praecepta ejus, et quia ambulavimus tristes coram Domino exercituum ?
እስመ፡ ትቤሎ፡ ከንቶ፡ ዘተቀነይነ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር፡ ወምንተ፡ ረባሕነ። ዘዐቀብነ፡ ትእዛዞ፡ ናሁ፡ ተቀንዩሂ፡ ተቀነይነ፡ ቅድሜሁ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ዘኲሎ፡ ይመልክ።
You have said, ‘It is vain to serve God,’ and ‘What profit is it that we have followed his instructions and that we have walked mournfully before Yahweh of Armies?
3:15
וְעַתָּ֕ה אֲנַ֖חְנוּ מְאַשְּׁרִ֣ים זֵדִ֑ים גַּם־נִבְנוּ֙ עֹשֵׂ֣י רִשְׁעָ֔ה גַּ֧ם בָּחֲנ֛וּ אֱלֹהִ֖ים וַיִּמָּלֵֽטוּ׃
καὶ νῦν ἡμεῖς μακαρίζομεν ἀλλοτρίους καὶ ἀνοικοδομοῦνται πάντες ποιοῦντες ἄνομα καὶ ἀντέστησαν θεῷ καὶ ἐσώθησαν
Ergo nunc beatos dicimus arrogantes : siquidem aedificati sunt facientes impietatem, et tentaverunt Deum, et salvi facti sunt.
ወናሁ፡ ዮም፡ ናስተበፅዕ፡ ባዕደ፡ ወየኀንጹ፡ ወይገብሩ፡ ስመ፡ ሎሙ፡ ወይትቃወምዎ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር፡ ወድኁ።
Now we call the proud happy; yes, those who work wickedness are built up; yes, they tempt God, and escape.’
3:16
אָ֧ז נִדְבְּר֛וּ יִרְאֵ֥י יְהֹוָ֖ה אִ֣ישׁ אֶל־רֵעֵ֑הוּ וַיַּקְשֵׁ֤ב יְהֹוָה֙ וַיִּשְׁמָ֔ע וַ֠יִּכָּתֵ֠ב סֵ֣פֶר זִכָּר֤וֹן לְפָנָיו֙ לְיִרְאֵ֣י יְהֹוָ֔ה וּלְחֹשְׁבֵ֖י שְׁמֽוֹ׃
ταῦτα κατελάλησαν οἱ φοβούμενοι τὸν κύριον ἕκαστος πρὸς τὸν πλησίον αὐτοῦ καὶ προσέσχεν κύριος καὶ εἰσήκουσεν καὶ ἔγραψεν βιβλίον μνημοσύνου ἐνώπιον αὐτοῦ τοῖς φοβουμένοις τὸν κύριον καὶ εὐλαβουμένοις τὸ ὄνομα αὐτοῦ
Tunc locuti sunt timentes Dominum, unusquisque cum proximo suo : et attendit Dominus, et audivit, et scriptus est liber monumenti coram eo timentibus Dominum, et cogitantibus nomen ejus.
ከመዝ፡ ሐመይዎ፡ እለ፡ ይፈረህዎ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር፡ አሐዱ፡ አሐዱ፡ ምስለ፡ ካልኡ፡ ወርእየ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ወሰምዐ፡ ወጸሐፈ፡ መጽሐፈ፡ ተዝካር፡ ቅድሜሆሙ፡ ለእለ፡ ይፈርህዎ፡ ለእግዚአበሔር፡ ወለእለ፡ ይፈርሁ፡ ስሞ።
Then those who feared Yahweh spoke one with another; and Yahweh listened and heard, and a book of memory was written before him for those who feared Yahweh and who honored his name.
3:17
וְהָ֣יוּ לִ֗י אָמַר֙ יְהֹוָ֣ה צְבָא֔וֹת לַיּ֕וֹם אֲשֶׁ֥ר אֲנִ֖י עֹשֶׂ֣ה סְגֻלָּ֑ה וְחָמַלְתִּ֣י עֲלֵיהֶ֔ם כַּֽאֲשֶׁר֙ יַחְמֹ֣ל אִ֔ישׁ עַל־בְּנ֖וֹ הָעֹבֵ֥ד אֹתֽוֹ׃
καὶ ἔσονταί μοι λέγει κύριος παντοκράτωρ εἰς ἡμέραν ἣν ἐγὼ ποιῶ εἰς περιποίησιν καὶ αἱρετιῶ αὐτοὺς ὃν τρόπον αἱρετίζει ἄνθρωπος τὸν υἱὸν αὐτοῦ τὸν δουλεύοντα αὐτῷ
Et erunt mihi, ait Dominus exercituum, in die qua ego facio, in peculium : et parcam eis, sicut parcit vir filio suo servienti sibi.
ወይከውኑኒ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ዘኲሎ፡ ይመልክ፡ ለእ፡ እገብር፡ አነ፡ ሕይወተ፡ ወአኀርዮሙ፡ በከመ፡ ያበድር፡ ብእሲ፡ ወልዶ፡ ዘይትቀነይ፡ ሎቱ።
They shall be mine,” says Yahweh of Armies, “my own possession in the day that I make. I will spare them, as a man spares his own son who serves him.
3:18
וְשַׁבְתֶּם֙ וּרְאִיתֶ֔ם בֵּ֥ין צַדִּ֖יק לְרָשָׁ֑ע בֵּ֚ין עֹבֵ֣ד אֱלֹהִ֔ים לַאֲשֶׁ֖ר לֹ֥א עֲבָדֽוֹ׃ {פ}
καὶ ἐπιστραφήσεσθε καὶ ὄψεσθε ἀνὰ μέσον δικαίου καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον ἀνόμου καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον τοῦ δουλεύοντος θεῷ καὶ τοῦ μὴ δουλεύοντος
Et convertemini, et videbitis quid sit inter justum et impium, et inter servientem Deo et non servientem ei.
ወትትመየጡ፡ ወትሬእዩ፡ ማእከለ፡ ጽድቅ፡ ወማእከለ፡ ኃጢአት፡ ወማእለ፡ ዜትቀነይ፡ ለእግዚአበሔር፡ ወማእከለ፡ ዘኢይትቀነይ።
Then you shall return and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him who serves God and him who doesn’t serve him.
3:19
כִּֽי־הִנֵּ֤ה הַיּוֹם֙ בָּ֔א בֹּעֵ֖ר כַּתַּנּ֑וּר וְהָי֨וּ כׇל־זֵדִ֜ים וְכׇל־עֹשֵׂ֤ה רִשְׁעָה֙ קַ֔שׁ וְלִהַ֨ט אֹתָ֜ם הַיּ֣וֹם הַבָּ֗א אָמַר֙ יְהֹוָ֣ה צְבָא֔וֹת אֲשֶׁ֛ר לֹא־יַעֲזֹ֥ב לָהֶ֖ם שֹׁ֥רֶשׁ וְעָנָֽף׃
διότι ἰδοὺ ἡμέρα κυρίου ἔρχεται καιομένη ὡς κλίβανος καὶ φλέξει αὐτούς καὶ ἔσονται πάντες οἱ ἀλλογενεῖς καὶ πάντες οἱ ποιοῦντες ἄνομα καλάμη καὶ ἀνάψει αὐτοὺς ἡ ἡμέρα ἡ ἐρχομένη λέγει κύριος παντοκράτωρ καὶ οὐ μὴ ὑπολειφθῇ ἐξ αὐτῶν ῥίζα οὐδὲ κλῆμα
——
“For behold, the day comes, burning like a furnace, when all the proud and all who work wickedness will be stubble. The day that comes will burn them up,” says Yahweh of Armies, “so that it will leave them neither root nor branch.
3:20
וְזָרְחָ֨ה לָכֶ֜ם יִרְאֵ֤י שְׁמִי֙ שֶׁ֣מֶשׁ צְדָקָ֔ה וּמַרְפֵּ֖א בִּכְנָפֶ֑יהָ וִיצָאתֶ֥ם וּפִשְׁתֶּ֖ם כְּעֶגְלֵ֥י מַרְבֵּֽק׃
καὶ ἀνατελεῖ ὑμῖν τοῖς φοβουμένοις τὸ ὄνομά μου ἥλιος δικαιοσύνης καὶ ἴασις ἐν ταῖς πτέρυξιν αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐξελεύσεσθε καὶ σκιρτήσετε ὡς μοσχάρια ἐκ δεσμῶν ἀνειμένα
——
But to you who fear my name shall the sun of righteousness arise with healing in its wings. You will go out and leap like calves of the stall.
3:21
וְעַסּוֹתֶ֣ם רְשָׁעִ֔ים כִּֽי־יִהְי֣וּ אֵ֔פֶר תַּ֖חַת כַּפּ֣וֹת רַגְלֵיכֶ֑ם בַּיּוֹם֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר אֲנִ֣י עֹשֶׂ֔ה אָמַ֖ר יְהֹוָ֥ה צְבָאֽוֹת׃ {פ}
καὶ καταπατήσετε ἀνόμους διότι ἔσονται σποδὸς ὑποκάτω τῶν ποδῶν ὑμῶν ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ᾗ ἐγὼ ποιῶ λέγει κύριος παντοκράτωρ
——
You shall tread down the wicked; for they will be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I make,” says Yahweh of Armies.
3:22
זִכְר֕וּ תּוֹרַ֖ת מֹשֶׁ֣ה עַבְדִּ֑י אֲשֶׁר֩ צִוִּ֨יתִי אוֹת֤וֹ בְחֹרֵב֙ עַל־כׇּל־יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל חֻקִּ֖ים וּמִשְׁפָּטִֽים׃
καὶ ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἀποστέλλω ὑμῖν Ηλιαν τὸν Θεσβίτην πρὶν ἐλθεῖν ἡμέραν κυρίου τὴν μεγάλην καὶ ἐπιφανῆ
——
“Remember the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded to him in Horeb for all Israel, even statutes and ordinances.
3:23
הִנֵּ֤ה אָנֹכִי֙ שֹׁלֵ֣חַ לָכֶ֔ם אֵ֖ת אֵלִיָּ֣ה הַנָּבִ֑יא לִפְנֵ֗י בּ֚וֹא י֣וֹם יְהֹוָ֔ה הַגָּד֖וֹל וְהַנּוֹרָֽא׃
ὃς ἀποκαταστήσει καρδίαν πατρὸς πρὸς υἱὸν καὶ καρδίαν ἀνθρώπου πρὸς τὸν πλησίον αὐτοῦ μὴ ἔλθω καὶ πατάξω τὴν γῆν ἄρδην
——
Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the great and terrible day of Yahweh comes.
3:24
וְהֵשִׁ֤יב לֵב־אָבוֹת֙ עַל־בָּנִ֔ים וְלֵ֥ב בָּנִ֖ים עַל־אֲבוֹתָ֑ם פֶּן־אָב֕וֹא וְהִכֵּיתִ֥י אֶת־הָאָ֖רֶץ חֵֽרֶם׃
μνήσθητε νόμου Μωυσῆ τοῦ δούλου μου καθότι ἐνετειλάμην αὐτῷ ἐν Χωρηβ πρὸς πάντα τὸν Ισραηλ προστάγματα καὶ δικαιώματα
——
He will turn the hearts of the fathers to the children and the hearts of the children to their fathers, lest I come and strike the earth with a curse.”
