📖 This chapter exists in 3 other originals — side by side (Hebrew Old Testament, Vulgate, Ge'ez Bible)
ℹ️ This corpus has no verse-level morphological tagging. Lemmas come mainly from word-level tagging of other books in the same language (not from this verse), falling back to dictionary form-matching for the rest. Rare homographs can still be misread; verify against the original and a specialist lexicon where precision matters.
ℹ️ The Chinese and English alongside are this site's own translation, made directly from the original text on this page (not the CUV or the WEB, which follow the Masoretic Text and a different textual tradition).

Behold, I send out my messenger, and he will survey the way before my face; and suddenly the Lord whom you seek will come into his own temple, and the messenger of the covenant whom you desire. Behold, he is coming, says the Lord Almighty.
And who will endure the day of his coming in? Or who will stand firm at his appearing? For he enters in like the fire of a smelting furnace, and like the herb of those who launder.
And he will sit smelting and cleansing as with silver and as with gold; and he will cleanse the sons of Levi and refine them like gold and like silver; and they will belong to the Lord, bringing a sacrifice in righteousness.
And I will draw near to you in judgment, and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulteresses, and against those who swear falsely by my name, and against those who withhold a hired worker's wages, and those who oppress a widow, and those who strike orphans with their fists, and those who turn aside the case of a sojourner, and those who do not fear me, says the Lord Almighty.
from the injustices of your fathers. You turned aside from my statutes and did not keep them. Return to me, and I will return to you, says the Lord Almighty. And you said: In what shall we return?
Will a person cheat God? Yet you are cheating me. And you will say: In what have we cheated you? Because the tithes and the firstfruits are still with you.
And you brought all the produce into the storehouses, and in his house its plundering will take place. Look into this, then, says the Lord Almighty, whether I will not open to you the floodgates of heaven and pour out my blessing upon you until it is enough.
And I will apportion food for you, and I will surely not destroy the fruit of your land, and your vine in the field will surely not fail, says the Lord Almighty.
You said: Futile is the one who serves God; and what more is there, that we kept his charges, and that we walked as suppliants before the face of the Lord Almighty?
These things those who fear the Lord spoke against, each to his neighbour; and the Lord paid attention and listened, and he wrote a book of remembrance before him for those who fear the Lord and who revere his name.
And they will be mine, says the Lord Almighty, on the day which I make, for a possession; and I will choose them as a man chooses his own son who serves him.
And you will turn back and see the difference between the righteous and the lawless, and between the one who serves God and the one who does not serve.
For behold, the day of the Lord is coming, burning like an oven, and it will set them ablaze; and all the foreigners and all who do lawless things will be stubble, and the day that is coming will kindle them, says the Lord Almighty, and there will surely not be left of them root or branch.
But for you who fear my name the sun of righteousness will rise, and healing is in his wings; and you will go out and leap like calves loosed from their bonds.
