7:1 ⧉ ⤴︎ Ἐπειδὴ ἐπλήρωσεν πάντα τὰ ῥήματα αὐτοῦ εἰς τὰς ἀκοὰς τοῦ λαοῦ , εἰσῆλθεν εἰς Καφαρναούμ .
Cum autem implesset omnia verba sua in aures plebis , intravit Capharnaum .
ወፈጺሞ ነጊሮቶሙ ቃሎ ለሕዝብ ቦአ ቅፍርናሆም ።
After he had finished speaking in the hearing of the people, he entered into Capernaum.
7:2 ⧉ ⤴︎ Ἑκατοντάρχου δέ τινος δοῦλος κακῶς ἔχων ἤμελλεν τελευτᾶν , ὃς ἦν αὐτῷ ἔντιμος .
Centurionis autem cujusdam servus male habens , erat moriturus : qui illi erat pretiosus .
ወሀሎ አሐዱ መስፍን ወገብሩ ይደዊ ወአልጸቀ ይሙት ወክቡር ውእቱ በኀቤሁ ።
A certain centurion’s servant, who was dear to him, was sick and at the point of death.
7:3 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἀκούσας δὲ περὶ τοῦ Ἰησοῦ ἀπέστειλεν πρὸς αὐτὸν πρεσβυτέρους τῶν Ἰουδαίων , ἐρωτῶν αὐτὸν ὅπως ἐλθὼν διασώσῃ τὸν δοῦλον αὐτοῦ .
Et cum audisset de Jesu , misit ad eum seniores Judaeorum , rogans eum ut veniret et salvaret servum ejus .
ወሰሚዖ በእንተ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ለአከ ኀቤሁ ረበናተ አይሁድ ያስተብቍዕዎ ከመ ይምጻእ ወያሕዩ ሎቱ ቍልዔሁ ።
When he heard about Jesus, he sent to him elders of the Jews, asking him to come and save his servant.
7:4 ⧉ ⤴︎ οἱ δὲ παραγενόμενοι πρὸς τὸν Ἰησοῦν ἠρώτων αὐτὸν σπουδαίως , λέγοντες ὅτι ἄξιός ἐστιν ᾧ παρέξῃ τοῦτο ·
At illi cum venissent ad Jesum , rogabant eum sollicite , dicentes ei : Quia dignus est ut hoc illi praestes :
ወመጽኡ ኀበ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ወአስተብቍዕዎ ወይቤልዎ ፍጡነ ረድ እስመ ይደልዎ ትግበር ሎቱ ዘንተ ።
When they came to Jesus, they begged him earnestly, saying, “He is worthy for you to do this for him,
7:5 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἀγαπᾷ γὰρ τὸ ἔθνος ἡμῶν , καὶ τὴν συναγωγὴν αὐτὸς ᾠκοδόμησεν ἡμῖν .
diligit enim gentem nostram , et synagogam ipse aedificavit nobis .
እስመ ያፈቅር ሕዝበነ ወምኵራበነኒ ውእቱ ሐነጸ ለነ ።
for he loves our nation, and he built our synagogue for us.”
7:6 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὁ δὲ Ἰησοῦς ἐπορεύετο σὺν αὐτοῖς . ἤδη δὲ αὐτοῦ οὐ μακρὰν ἀπέχοντος τῆς οἰκίας ἔπεμψεν φίλους ὁ ἑκατοντάρχης λέγων · κύριε , μὴ σκύλλου · οὐ γὰρ ἱκανός εἰμι ἵνα ὑπὸ τὴν στέγην μου εἰσέλθῃς ·
Jesus autem ibat cum illis . Et cum jam non longe esset a domo , misit ad eum centurio amicos , dicens : Domine , noli vexari : non enim sum dignus ut sub tectum meum intres :
ወሖረ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ምስሌሆሙ ወአልጺቆ ኀበ ቤቱ ለአከ አዕርክቲሁ ውእቱ መስፍን ኀቤሁ እንዘ ይብል እግዚኦ ኢትጻሙ እስመ ኢይደልወኒ ከመ ትባእ ታሕተ ጠፈረ ቤትየ ።
Jesus went with them. When he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying to him, “Lord, don’t trouble yourself, for I am not worthy for you to come under my roof.
7:7 ⧉ ⤴︎ διὸ οὐδὲ ἐμαυτὸν ἠξίωσα πρὸς σὲ ἐλθεῖν · ἀλλὰ εἰπὲ λόγῳ , καὶ ἰαθήτω ὁ παῖς μου .
propter quod et meipsum non sum dignum arbitratus ut venirem ad te : sed dic verbo , et sanabitur puer meus .
ወለልየኒ ኢይደልወኒ እምጻእ ኀቤከ ወባሕቱ አዝዝ በቃልከ ወየሐዩ ቍልዔየ ።
Therefore I didn’t even think myself worthy to come to you; but say the word, and my servant will be healed.
7:8 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ γὰρ ἐγὼ ἄνθρωπός εἰμι ὑπὸ ἐξουσίαν τασσόμενος , ἔχων ὑπ’ ἐμαυτὸν στρατιώτας , καὶ λέγω τούτῳ , πορεύθητι , καὶ πορεύεται , καὶ ἄλλῳ · ἔρχου , καὶ ἔρχεται , καὶ τῷ δούλῳ μου · ποίησον τοῦτο , καὶ ποιεῖ .
Nam et ego homo sum sub potestate constitutus , habens sub me milites : et dico huic , Vade , et vadit : et alii , Veni , et venit : et servo meo , Fac hoc , et facit .
እስመ አነሂ ብእሲ መኰንን አነ ወብየ ወዐልት ወእብሎ ለዝ ሑር ወየሐውር ወለካልኡ ነዓ ወይመጽእ ወለገብርየኒ ግበር ከመዝ ወይገብር ።
For I also am a man placed under authority, having under myself soldiers. I tell this one, ‘Go!’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come!’ and he comes; and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.”
7:9 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἀκούσας δὲ ταῦτα ὁ Ἰησοῦς ἐθαύμασεν αὐτόν , καὶ στραφεὶς τῷ ἀκολουθοῦντι αὐτῷ ὄχλῳ εἶπεν · λέγω ὑμῖν , οὐδὲ ἐν τῷ Ἰσραὴλ τοσαύτην πίστιν εὗρον .
Quo audito Jesus miratus est : et conversus sequentibus se turbis , dixit : Amen dico vobis , nec in Israël tantam fidem inveni .
ወሰሚዖ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ዘንተ እምኔሁ አንከሮ ወተመዪጦ ይቤሎሙ ለሕዝብ እለ ተለውዎ ኢረከብኩ ዘከመዝ ዘይትአመን በውስተ እስራኤል ።
When Jesus heard these things, he marveled at him, and turned and said to the multitude who followed him, “I tell you, I have not found such great faith, no, not in Israel.”
7:10 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ὑποστρέψαντες εἰς τὸν οἶκον οἱ πεμφθέντες εὗρον τὸν δοῦλον ὑγιαίνοντα .
Et reversi , qui missi fuerant , domum , invenerunt servum , qui languerat , sanum .
ወአቲዎሙ እለ ተፈነዉ ረከብዎ ለገብሩ በዘሐይወ ።
Those who were sent, returning to the house, found that the servant who had been sick was well.
7:11 ⧉ ⤴︎ Καὶ ἐγένετο ἐν τῇ ἑξῆς ἐπορεύθη εἰς πόλιν καλουμένην Ναΐν , καὶ συνεπορεύοντο αὐτῷ οἱ μαθηταὶ αὐτοῦ ἱκανοὶ καὶ ὄχλος πολύς .
Et factum est : deinceps ibat in civitatem quae vocatur Naim : et ibant cum eo discipuli ejus et turba copiosa .
ወበሳኒታ ሖረ ሀገረ እንተ ስማ ናይን ወሖሩ ምስሌሁ አርዳኢሁ ወሕዝብኒ ብዙኅ ።
Soon afterwards, he went to a city called Nain. Many of his disciples, along with a great multitude, went with him.
7:12 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὡς δὲ ἤγγισεν τῇ πύλῃ τῆς πόλεως , καὶ ἰδοὺ ἐξεκομίζετο τεθνηκὼς μονογενὴς υἱὸς τῇ μητρὶ αὐτοῦ , καὶ αὐτὴ ἦν χήρα , καὶ ὄχλος τῆς πόλεως ἱκανὸς ἦν σὺν αὐτῇ .
Cum autem appropinquaret portae civitatis , ecce defunctus efferebatur filius unicus matris suae : et haec vidua erat : et turba civitatis multa cum illa .
ወበጺሖ ኀበ አንቀጸ ሀገር ረከበ ቀበረ ፅዉረ ዘወልደ ብእሲት መበለት ወውእቱ አሐዱ ለእሙ ወብዙኃን ሰብአ ሀገር ምስሌሃ ።
Now when he came near to the gate of the city, behold, one who was dead was carried out, the only born son of his mother, and she was a widow. Many people of the city were with her.
7:13 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἰδὼν αὐτὴν ὁ κύριος ἐσπλαγχνίσθη ἐπ’ αὐτὴν καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῇ · μὴ κλαῖε .
Quam cum vidisset Dominus , misericordia motus super eam , dixit illi : Noli flere .
ወሶበ ርእያ እግዚእነ መሐራ ወተሣህላ ወይቤላ ኢትብክዪ ።
When the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her and said to her, “Don’t cry.”
7:14 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ προσελθὼν ἥψατο τῆς σοροῦ , οἱ δὲ βαστάζοντες ἔστησαν , καὶ εἶπεν · νεανίσκε , σοὶ λέγω , ἐγέρθητι .
Et accessit , et tetigit loculum . (Hi autem qui portabant , steterunt .) Et ait : Adolescens , tibi dico , surge .
ወቀርበ ወአኀዘ ነፍቆ ወቆሙ እለ ይጸውርዎ ወይቤሎ ለከ እብለከ ወሬዛ ተንሥእ ።
He came near and touched the coffin, and the bearers stood still. He said, “Young man, I tell you, arise!”
7:15 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἀνεκάθισεν ὁ νεκρὸς καὶ ἤρξατο λαλεῖν , καὶ ἔδωκεν αὐτὸν τῇ μητρὶ αὐτοῦ .
Et resedit qui erat mortuus , et coepit loqui . Et dedit illum matri suae .
ወተንሥአ ውእቱ በድን ወነበረ ወተናገረ ርቱዐ ወአወፈዮ ለእሙ ።
He who was dead sat up and began to speak. Then he gave him to his mother.
7:16 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἔλαβεν δὲ φόβος ἅπαντας , καὶ ἐδόξαζον τὸν θεὸν λέγοντες ὅτι προφήτης μέγας ἠγέρθη ἐν ἡμῖν , καὶ ὅτι ἐπεσκέψατο ὁ θεὸς τὸν λαὸν αὐτοῦ .
Accepit autem omnes timor : et magnificabant Deum , dicentes : Quia propheta magnus surrexit in nobis : et quia Deus visitavit plebem suam .
ወፈርሁ ኵሎሙ ወሰብሕዎ ለእግዚአብሔር ወይቤሉ ዐቢይ ነቢይ ተንሥአ ለነ ወተሣሀሎሙ እግዚአብሔር ለሕዝቡ ።
Fear took hold of all, and they glorified God, saying, “A great prophet has arisen among us!” and, “God has visited his people!”
7:17 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἐξῆλθεν ὁ λόγος οὗτος ἐν ὅλῃ τῇ Ἰουδαίᾳ περὶ αὐτοῦ καὶ πάσῃ τῇ περιχώρῳ .
Et exiit hic sermo in universam Judaeam de eo , et in omnem circa regionem .
ወተሰምዐ ዝንቱ ነገር በኵሉ በሓውርተ ይሁዳ ወበኵሉ አድያሚሃ በእንቲኣሁ ።
This report went out concerning him in the whole of Judea and in all the surrounding region.
7:18 ⧉ ⤴︎ Καὶ ἀπήγγειλαν Ἰωάννει οἱ μαθηταὶ αὐτοῦ περὶ πάντων τούτων .
Et nuntiaverunt Joanni discipuli ejus de omnibus his .
ወነገርዎ አርዳኢሁ ለዮሐንስ ዘንተ ኵሎ ።
The disciples of John told him about all these things.
7:19 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ προσκαλεσάμενος δύο τινὰς τῶν μαθητῶν αὐτοῦ ὁ Ἰωάννης ἔπεμψεν πρὸς τὸν κύριον λέγων · σὺ εἶ ὁ ἐρχόμενος ἢ ἄλλον προσδοκῶμεν ;
Et convocavit duos de discipulis suis Joannes , et misit ad Jesum , dicens : Tu es qui venturus es , an alium exspectamus ?
ወጸውዐ ዮሐንስ ክልኤተ እምአርዳኢሁ ወለአኮሙ ኀበ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ወይቤ አንተኑአ ዘይመጽእ ወሚመ ቦኑ ካልእ ዘንሴፎ ።
John, calling to himself two of his disciples, sent them to Jesus, saying, “Are you the one who is coming, or should we look for another?”
7:20 ⧉ ⤴︎ παραγενόμενοι δὲ πρὸς αὐτὸν οἱ ἄνδρες εἶπαν · Ἰωάννης ὁ βαπτιστὴς ἀπέσταλκεν ἡμᾶς πρὸς σὲ λέγων · σὺ εἶ ὁ ἐρχόμενος , ἢ ἄλλον προσδοκῶμεν ;
Cum autem venissent ad eum viri , dixerunt : Joannes Baptista misit nos ad te dicens : Tu es qui venturus es , an alium exspectamus ?
ወበጺሖሙ እለ ለአኮሙ ኀቤሁ ይቤልዎ ዮሐንስ መጥምቅ ለአከነ ኀቤከ ወይቤ አንተኑአ ዘይመጽእ ወቦኑ ካልእ ዘንሴፎ ።
When the men had come to him, they said, “John the Baptizer has sent us to you, saying, ‘Are you he who comes, or should we look for another?’”
7:21 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἐν ἐκείνῃ τῇ ὥρᾳ ἐθεράπευσεν πολλοὺς ἀπὸ νόσων καὶ μαστίγων καὶ πνευμάτων πονηρῶν , καὶ τυφλοῖς πολλοῖς ἐχαρίσατο βλέπειν .
(In ipsa autem hora multos curavit a languoribus , et plagis , et spiritibus malis , et caecis multis donavit visum .)
ወፈወሶሙ ለብዙኃን ሶቤሃ እምደዌሆሙ ወእምሕማሞሙ ወእምአጋንንት እኩያን ወለብዙኃን ዕዉራን ጸገዎሙ ብርሃነ ይርአዩ ።
In that hour he cured many of diseases and plagues and evil spirits; and to many who were blind he gave sight.
7:22 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἀποκριθεὶς εἶπεν αὐτοῖς · πορευθέντες ἀπαγγείλατε Ἰωάννει ἃ εἴδετε καὶ ἠκούσατε , ὅτι τυφλοὶ ἀναβλέπουσιν , χωλοὶ περιπατοῦσιν , λεπροὶ καθαρίζονται κωφοὶ ἀκούουσιν , νεκροὶ ἐγείρονται , πτωχοὶ εὐαγγελίζονται ·
Et respondens , dixit illis : Euntes renuntiate Joanni quae audistis et vidistis : quia caeci vident , claudi ambulant , leprosi mundantur , surdi audiunt , mortui resurgunt , pauperes evangelizantur :
ወአውሥአ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ወይቤሎሙ ሑሩ ንግርዎ ለዮሐንስ ዘሰማዕክሙ ወዘርኢክሙ ዕዉራን ይሬእዩ ወስቡራን የሐውሩ ወእለ ለምጽ ይነጽሑ ወጽሙማን ይሰምዑ ወምዉታን ይትነሥኡ ወነዳያን ይዜነዉ ወይትፌሥሑ ።
Jesus answered them, “Go and tell John the things which you have seen and heard: that the blind receive their sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have good news preached to them.
7:23 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ μακάριός ἐστιν ὃς ἐὰν μὴ σκανδαλισθῇ ἐν ἐμοί .
et beatus est quicumque non fuerit scandalizatus in me .
ወብፁዓን እለ ኢይትዐቀፉ ብየ ።
Blessed is he who finds no occasion for stumbling in me.”
7:24 ⧉ ⤴︎ Ἀπελθόντων δὲ τῶν ἀγγέλων Ἰωάννου ἤρξατο λέγειν πρὸς τοὺς ὄχλους περὶ Ἰωάννου · τί ἐξεληλύθατε εἰς τὴν ἔρημον θεάσασθαι ; κάλαμον ὑπὸ ἀνέμου σαλευόμενον ;
Et cum discessissent nuntii Joannis , coepit de Joanne dicere ad turbas : Quid existis in desertum videre ? arundinem vento agitatam ?
ወኀሊፎሙ አርዳኢሁ ለዮሐንስ አኀዘ ይበሎሙ ለሕዝብ በእንተ ዮሐንስ መጥምቅ ምንተኑ ወፃእክሙ ገዳመ ትርአዩ ብርዐኑ ዘይትሐወስ እምነፋስ ።
When John’s messengers had departed, he began to tell the multitudes about John, “What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken by the wind?
7:25 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἀλλὰ τί ἐξεληλύθατε ἰδεῖν ; ἄνθρωπον ἐν μαλακοῖς ἱματίοις ἠμφιεσμένον ; ἰδοὺ οἱ ἐν ἱματισμῷ ἐνδόξῳ καὶ τρυφῇ ὑπάρχοντες ἐν τοῖς βασιλείοις εἰσίν .
Sed quid existis videre ? hominem mollibus vestibus indutum ? Ecce qui in veste pretiosa sunt et deliciis , in domibus regum sunt .
ወምንተኑመ ወፃእክሙ ትርአዩ ብእሴኑ ዘርሡይ በቀጠንተ አልባስ ናሁ እለሰ ርሡያን በአልባሰ ክብር ውስተ አብያተ ነገሥት ሀለዉ ፤
But what did you go out to see? A man clothed in soft clothing? Behold, those who are gorgeously dressed and live delicately are in kings’ courts.
7:26 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἀλλὰ τί ἐξεληλύθατε ἰδεῖν ; προφήτην ; ναί , λέγω ὑμῖν , καὶ περισσότερον προφήτου .
Sed quid existis videre ? prophetam ? Utique dico vobis , et plus quam prophetam :
ወምንተኑመ ወፃእክሙ ትርአዩ ነቢየኑ እወ እብለክሙ የዐቢ እምነቢይ ።
But what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and much more than a prophet.
7:27 ⧉ ⤴︎ οὗτός ἐστιν περὶ οὗ γέγραπται · ἰδοὺ ἀποστέλλω τὸν ἄγγελόν μου πρὸ προσώπου σου , ὃς κατασκευάσει τὴν ὁδόν σου ἔμπροσθέν σου .
hic est , de quo scriptum est : Ecce mitto angelum meum ante faciem tuam , qui praeparabit viam tuam ante te .
ዝውእቱ ዘበእንቲአሁ ተጽሕፈ «ናሁ አነ እፌኑ መልአኪየ ቅድመ ገጽከ ዘይጸይሕ ፍኖተከ በቅድሜከ ።»
This is he of whom it is written, ‘Behold, I send my messenger before your face, who will prepare your way before you.’
7:28 ⧉ ⤴︎ λέγω ὑμῖν , μείζων ἐν γεννητοῖς γυναικῶν προφήτης Ἰωάννου οὐδείς ἐστιν · ὁ δὲ μικρότερος ἐν τῇ βασιλείᾳ τοῦ θεοῦ μείζων αὐτοῦ ἐστιν .
Dico enim vobis : major inter natos mulierum propheta Joanne Baptista nemo est : qui autem minor est in regno Dei , major est illo .
አማን እብለክሙ ኢተንሥአ እምትውልደ አንስት ዘየዐቢ እምዮሐንስ መጥምቅ ወኢመኑሂ ወበመንግሥተ እግዚአብሔርሰ ዘይንእሶ የዐብዮ ።
“For I tell you, among those who are born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptizer; yet he who is least in God’s Kingdom is greater than he.”
7:29 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ πᾶς ὁ λαὸς ἀκούσας καὶ οἱ τελῶναι ἐδικαίωσαν τὸν θεόν , βαπτισθέντες τὸ βάπτισμα Ἰωάννου ·
Et omnis populus audiens et publicani , justificaverunt Deum , baptizati baptismo Joannis .
ወሰሚዖሙ ኵሎሙ ሕዝብ ወመጸብሓን አጽደቅዎ ለእግዚአብሔር እስመ ተጠምቁ ጥምቀተ ዮሐንስ ።
When all the people and the tax collectors heard this, they declared God to be just, having been baptized with John’s baptism.
7:30 ⧉ ⤴︎ οἱ δὲ Φαρισαῖοι καὶ οἱ νομικοὶ τὴν βουλὴν τοῦ θεοῦ ἠθέτησαν εἰς ἑαυτούς , μὴ βαπτισθέντες ὑπ’ αὐτοῦ .
Pharisaei autem et legisperiti consilium Dei spreverunt in semetipsos , non baptizati ab eo .
ወፈሪሳውያንሰ ወጸሐፍተ ሕግ ዐለዉ ትእዛዘ እግዚአብሔር ወኢተጠምቁ በኀቤሁ ።
But the Pharisees and the lawyers rejected the counsel of God, not being baptized by him themselves.
7:31 ⧉ ⤴︎ Τίνι οὖν ὁμοιώσω τοὺς ἀνθρώπους τῆς γενεᾶς ταύτης , καὶ τίνι εἰσὶν ὅμοιοι ;
Ait autem Dominus : Cui ergo similes dicam homines generationis hujus ? et cui similes sunt ?
በምንት አስተማስሎሙ ለሰብአ ዛቲ ትውልድ ወመነ ይመስሉ ።
“To what then should I compare the people of this generation? What are they like?
7:32 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὅμοιοί εἰσίν παιδίοις τοῖς ἐν ἀγορᾷ καθημένοις καὶ προσφωνοῦσιν ἀλλήλοις , λέγοντες · ηὐλήσαμεν ὑμῖν καὶ οὐκ ὠρχήσασθε , ἐθρηνήσαμεν καὶ οὐκ ἐκλαύσατε .
Similes sunt pueris sedentibus in foro , et loquentibus ad invicem , et dicentibus : Cantavimus vobis tibiis , et non saltastis : lamentavimus , et non plorastis .
ይመስሉ ደቂቀ እለ ይነብሩ ውስተ ምሥያጥ ወይጼውዑ ቢጾሙ ወይብልዎሙ ሐለይነ ለክሙ ወኢዘፈንክሙ አስቈቀውነሂ ለክሙ ወኢበከይክሙ ።
They are like children who sit in the marketplace and call to one another, saying, ‘We piped to you, and you didn’t dance. We mourned, and you didn’t weep.’
7:33 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἐλήλυθεν γὰρ Ἰωάννης ὁ βαπτιστὴς μὴ ἐσθίων ἄρτον μηδὲ πίνων οἶνον , καὶ λέγετε · δαιμόνιον ἔχει .
Venit enim Joannes Baptista , neque manducans panem , neque bibens vinum , et dicitis : Daemonium habet .
እስመ መጽአ ዮሐንስ መጥምቅ ኢይበልዕ እክለ ወኢይሰቲ ወይነ ወትቤልዎ ጋኔን ቦቱ ።
For John the Baptizer came neither eating bread nor drinking wine, and you say, ‘He has a demon.’
7:34 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἐλήλυθεν ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου ἐσθίων καὶ πίνων , καὶ λέγετε · ἰδοὺ ἄνθρωπος φάγος καὶ οἰνοπότης , φίλος τελωνῶν καὶ ἁμαρτωλῶν .
Venit Filius hominis manducans , et bibens , et dicitis : Ecce homo devorator , et bibens vinum , amicus publicanorum et peccatorum .
ወመጽአ ወልደ ዕጓለ እመሕያው ይበልዕ ወይሰቲ ወትቤሉ ነዋ ብእሲ በላዒ ወሰታዬ ወይን ዐርከ መጸብሓን ወኃጥኣን ።
The Son of Man has come eating and drinking, and you say, ‘Behold, a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’
7:35 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἐδικαιώθη ἡ σοφία ἀπὸ τῶν τέκνων αὐτῆς πάντων .
Et justificata est sapientia ab omnibus filiis suis .
ወጸድቀት ጥበብ እምኵሉ ውሉዳ ።
Wisdom is justified by all her children.”
7:36 ⧉ ⤴︎ Ἠρώτα δέ τις αὐτὸν τῶν Φαρισαίων ἵνα φάγῃ μετ’ αὐτοῦ · καὶ εἰσελθὼν εἰς τὸν οἶκον τοῦ Φαρισαίου κατεκλίθη .
Rogabat autem illum quidam de pharisaeis ut manducaret cum illo . Et ingressus domum pharisaei discubuit .
ወይቤሎ አሐዱ እምፈሪሳውያን ከመ ይምሳሕ በኀቤሁ ወቦአ ቤተ ፈሪሳዊ ወረፈቀ ።
One of the Pharisees invited him to eat with him. He entered into the Pharisee’s house and sat at the table.
7:37 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἰδοὺ γυνὴ ἥτις ἦν ἐν τῇ πόλει ἁμαρτωλός , καὶ ἐπιγνοῦσα ὅτι κατάκειται ἐν τῇ οἰκίᾳ τοῦ Φαρισαίου , κομίσασα ἀλάβαστρον μύρου
Et ecce mulier , quae erat in civitate peccatrix , ut cognovit quod accubuisset in domo pharisaei , attulit alabastrum unguenti :
ወናሁ መጽአት ብእሲት ኃጥእት እምሰብአ ይእቲ ሀገር አእሚራ ከመ ይመስሕ ውስተ ቤተ ፈሪሳዊ ወተሣየጠት ዕፍረተ ዘአልባጥሮስ ።
Behold, a woman in the city who was a sinner, when she knew that he was reclining in the Pharisee’s house, brought an alabaster jar of ointment.
7:38 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ στᾶσα ὀπίσω παρὰ τοὺς πόδας αὐτοῦ κλαίουσα , τοῖς δάκρυσιν ἤρξατο βρέχειν τοὺς πόδας αὐτοῦ καὶ ταῖς θριξὶν τῆς κεφαλῆς αὐτῆς ἐξέμαξεν , καὶ κατεφίλει τοὺς πόδας αὐτοῦ καὶ ἤλειφεν τῷ μύρῳ .
et stans retro secus pedes ejus , lacrimis coepit rigare pedes ejus , et capillis capitis sui tergebat , et osculabatur pedes ejus , et unguento ungebat .
ወቆመት ድኅሬሁ ኀበ እገሪሁ ወበከየት ወአርሐሰት እገሪሁ በአንብዓ ወትመዘምዝ በሥዕርተ ርእሳ ወትስዕም እገሪሁ ወትቀብዖ ዕፍረተ ።
Standing behind at his feet weeping, she began to wet his feet with her tears, and she wiped them with the hair of her head, kissed his feet, and anointed them with the ointment.
7:39 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἰδὼν δὲ ὁ Φαρισαῖος ὁ καλέσας αὐτὸν εἶπεν ἐν ἑαυτῷ λέγων · οὗτος εἰ ἦν προφήτης , ἐγίνωσκεν ἂν τίς καὶ ποταπὴ ἡ γυνὴ ἥτις ἅπτεται αὐτοῦ , ὅτι ἁμαρτωλός ἐστιν .
Videns autem pharisaeus , qui vocaverat eum , ait intra se dicens : Hic si esset propheta , sciret utique quae et qualis est mulier , quae tangit eum : quia peccatrix est .
ወርእዮ ፈሪሳዊ ዘጸውዖ ኀለየ በልቡ ወይቤ ሶበሁ ነቢይ ውእቱ ዝንቱ እምኢያእመረኑ ከመ ምንት ዛቲ ብእሲት ወዘከመ እፎ ይእቲ እንተ ትገሥሦ እስመ ኃጥእት ይእቲ ።
Now when the Pharisee who had invited him saw it, he said to himself, “This man, if he were a prophet, would have perceived who and what kind of woman this is who touches him, that she is a sinner.”
7:40 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἀποκριθεὶς ὁ Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτόν · Σίμων , ἔχω σοί τι εἰπεῖν . ὁ δέ · διδάσκαλε , εἰπέ , φησίν .
Et respondens Jesus , dixit ad illum : Simon , habeo tibi aliquid dicere . At ille ait : Magister , dic .
ወአውሥአ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ወይቤሎ ስምዖን ብየ ዘእብለከ ወይቤሎ ሊቅ በል ።
Jesus answered him, “Simon, I have something to tell you.” He said, “Teacher, say on.”
7:41 ⧉ ⤴︎ Δύο χρεοφειλέται ἦσαν δανιστῇ τινι · ὁ εἷς ὤφειλεν δηνάρια πεντακόσια , ὁ δὲ ἕτερος πεντήκοντα .
Duo debitores erant cuidam foeneratori : unus debebat denarios quingentos , et alius quinquaginta .
ወይቤሎ ክልኤቱ ይፈድይዎ ለአሐዱ በዓለ ዕዳ አሐዱ ይፈድዮ ኀምስተ ምእተ ዲናረ ወካልኡኒ ኀምሳ ።
“A certain lender had two debtors. The one owed five hundred denarii, and the other fifty.
7:42 ⧉ ⤴︎ μὴ ἐχόντων αὐτῶν ἀποδοῦναι ἀμφοτέροις ἐχαρίσατο . τίς οὖν αὐτῶν πλεῖον ἀγαπήσει αὐτόν ;
Non habentibus illis unde redderent , donavit utrisque . Quis ergo eum plus diligit ?
ወኀጢኦሙ ዘይፈድይዎ ኀደገ ሎሙ ለክልኤሆሙ መኑ እንከ ርቱዕ ፈድፋደ ያፈቅሮ እምኔሆሙ ።
When they couldn’t pay, he forgave them both. Which of them therefore will love him most?”
7:43 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἀποκριθεὶς Σίμων εἶπεν · ὑπολαμβάνω ὅτι ᾧ τὸ πλεῖον ἐχαρίσατο . ὁ δὲ εἶπεν αὐτῷ · ὀρθῶς ἔκρινας .
Respondens Simon dixit : Aestimo quia is cui plus donavit . At ille dixit ei : Recte judicasti .
ወተሰጥወ ስምዖን ወይቤሎ እብልሰ ዘብዙኀ ኀደገ ሎቱ ወይቤሎ ሠናየ ፈታሕከ ።
Simon answered, “He, I suppose, to whom he forgave the most.” He said to him, “You have judged correctly.”
7:44 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ στραφεὶς πρὸς τὴν γυναῖκα τῷ Σίμωνι ἔφη · βλέπεις ταύτην τὴν γυναῖκα ; εἰσῆλθόν σου εἰς τὴν οἰκίαν , ὕδωρ μου ἐπὶ τοὺς πόδας οὐκ ἔδωκας · αὕτη δὲ τοῖς δάκρυσιν ἔβρεξέν μου τοὺς πόδας καὶ ταῖς θριξὶν αὐτῆς ἐξέμαξεν .
Et conversus ad mulierem , dixit Simoni : Vides hanc mulierem ? Intravi in domum tuam , aquam pedibus meis non dedisti : haec autem lacrimis rigavit pedes meos , et capillis suis tersit .
ወተመይጠ ኀበ ይእቲ ብእሲት ወይቤሎ ለስምዖን ትሬእያኑ ለዛቲ ብእሲት ቦእኩ ቤተከ ወኢወሀብከኒ ማየ ጥቀ ለእገርየ ወይእቲሰ በከየት ወበአንብዓ አርሐሰት እገርየ ወበሥዕርታ መዝመዘተኒ ።
Turning to the woman, he said to Simon, “Do you see this woman? I entered into your house, and you gave me no water for my feet, but she has wet my feet with her tears, and wiped them with the hair of her head.
7:45 ⧉ ⤴︎ φίλημά μοι οὐκ ἔδωκας · αὕτη δὲ ἀφ’ ἧς εἰσῆλθον οὐ διέλειπεν καταφιλοῦσά μου τοὺς πόδας .
Osculum mihi non dedisti : haec autem ex quo intravit , non cessavit osculari pedes meos .
ወአንተሰ ኢተአማኅከኒ ወይእቲሰ እምዘቦእኩ ኢያንተገት ስዒመ እገርየ ።
You gave me no kiss, but she, since the time I came in, has not ceased to kiss my feet.
7:46 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἐλαίῳ τὴν κεφαλήν μου οὐκ ἤλειψας · αὕτη δὲ μύρῳ ἤλειψεν μου τοὺς πόδας .
Oleo caput meum non unxisti : haec autem unguento unxit pedes meos .
ወአንተሰ ኢቀባዕከኒ በዘይት ርእስየ ወይእቲሰ ዕፍረተ ቀብዐተኒ እገርየ ።
You didn’t anoint my head with oil, but she has anointed my feet with ointment.
7:47 ⧉ ⤴︎ οὗ χάριν , λέγω σοι , ἀφέωνται αὐτῆς αἱ ἁμαρτίαι αἱ πολλαί , ὅτι ἠγάπησεν πολύ · ᾧ δὲ ὀλίγον ἀφίεται , ὀλίγον ἀγαπᾷ .
Propter quod dico tibi : remittuntur ei peccata multa , quoniam dilexit multum . Cui autem minus dimittitur , minus diligit .
በእንተ ዝንቱ እብለከ ተኀድገ ላቲ ኀጢአታ ብዙኅ እስመ ብዙኀ አፍቀረተኒ ወዘሰ ውኁደ አፍቀረኒ ውኁድ ይትኀደግ ሎቱ ወዘሰ ብዙኀ አፍቀረኒ ብዙኅ ይትኀደግ ሎቱ ።
Therefore I tell you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven, for she loved much. But one to whom little is forgiven, loves little.”
7:48 ⧉ ⤴︎ εἶπεν δὲ αὐτῇ · ἀφέωνταί σου αἱ ἁμαρτίαι .
Dixit autem ad illam : Remittuntur tibi peccata .
ወይቤላ ለይእቲ ብእሲት ተኀድገ ለኪ ኀጢአትኪ ።
He said to her, “Your sins are forgiven.”
7:49 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἤρξαντο οἱ συνανακείμενοι λέγειν ἐν ἑαυτοῖς · τίς οὗτός ἐστιν , ὃς καὶ ἁμαρτίας ἀφίησιν ;
Et coeperunt qui simul accumbebant , dicere intra se : Quis est hic qui etiam peccata dimittit ?
ወአኀዙ እለ ይረፍቁ ይበሉ በበይናቲሆሙ መኑ ውእቱ ዝንቱ ዘየኀድግ ኀጢአተ ።
Those who sat at the table with him began to say to themselves, “Who is this who even forgives sins?”
7:50 ⧉ ⤴︎ εἶπεν δὲ πρὸς τὴν γυναῖκα · ἡ πίστις σου σέσωκέν σε , πορεύου εἰς εἰρήνην .
Dixit autem ad mulierem : Fides tua te salvam fecit : vade in pace .
ወይቤላ ለይእቲ ብእሲት ሃይማኖትኪ አድኀነተኪ እትዊ በሰላም ።
He said to the woman, “Your faith has saved you. Go in peace.”
