📖 This chapter exists in 3 other originals — side by side (Hebrew Old Testament, Vulgate, Ge'ez Bible)
ℹ️ This corpus has no verse-level morphological tagging. Lemmas come mainly from word-level tagging of other books in the same language (not from this verse), falling back to dictionary form-matching for the rest. Rare homographs can still be misread; verify against the original and a specialist lexicon where precision matters.
ℹ️ The Chinese and English alongside are this site's own translation, made directly from the original text on this page (not the CUV or the WEB, which follow the Masoretic Text and a different textual tradition).

For Idumea will say: It has been overthrown; but let us return and rebuild the desolate places. Thus says the Lord Almighty: They will build, and I will overthrow; and they will be called borders of lawlessness, and a people against whom the Lord has drawn up his battle line forever.
A son honours a father, and a servant his master. And if I am a father, where is my glory? And if I am a master, where is the fear of me? says the Lord Almighty. It is you, the priests, who make light of my name. And you said: In what have we made light of your name?

For if you bring a blind animal for sacrifice, is that not evil? And if you bring a lame or sick one, is that not evil? Bring it, then, to your governor: will he accept it? will he receive your face? says the Lord Almighty.
And now, entreat the face of your God and make supplication to him. These things have come about by your hands. Shall I receive your faces from you? says the Lord Almighty.
For among you too the doors will be shut, and you will not kindle my altar for nothing. My pleasure is not in you, says the Lord Almighty, and I will not accept a sacrifice from your hands.
For from the rising of the sun to its setting my name has been glorified among the nations, and in every place incense is offered to my name, and a pure sacrifice; for my name is great among the nations, says the Lord Almighty.
And you said: These things come of hardship. And I blew them away, says the Lord Almighty. And you brought in what was seized by force, and the lame, and the ailing; and if you bring such a sacrifice, shall I accept them from your hands? says the Lord Almighty.
And cursed is the one who had the means, and had a male in his flock, and had his vow upon him, yet sacrifices to the Lord what is blemished; for I am a great king, says the Lord Almighty, and my name is manifest among the nations.
