12:1
אֹהֵ֣ב מ֭וּסָר אֹ֣הֵֽב דָּ֑עַת וְשׂוֹנֵ֖א תוֹכַ֣חַת בָּֽעַר׃
ὁ ἀγαπῶν παιδείαν ἀγαπᾷ αἴσθησιν ὁ δὲ μισῶν ἐλέγχους ἄφρων
Qui diligit disciplinam diligit scientiam ; qui autem odit increpationes insipiens est.
ዘያፈቅር፡ ተግሣፀ፡ ያፈቅር፡ አእምሮ፡ ወዘይጸልእሰ፡ ተግሣፀ፡ ዓብድ፡ ውእቱ።
Whoever loves correction loves knowledge, but he who hates reproof is stupid.
12:2
ט֗וֹב יָפִ֣יק רָ֭צוֹן מֵיְהֹוָ֑ה וְאִ֖ישׁ מְזִמּ֣וֹת יַרְשִֽׁיעַ׃
κρείσσων ὁ εὑρὼν χάριν παρὰ κυρίῳ ἀνὴρ δὲ παράνομος παρασιωπηθήσεται
Qui bonus est hauriet gratiam a Domino ; qui autem confidit in cogitationibus suis impie agit.
ይኄይስ፡ ዘረከበ፡ ሞገሰ፡ በኀበ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ወብእሲስ፡ ዓማፂ፡ ይትኄየይ።
A good man shall obtain favor from Yahweh, but he will condemn a man of wicked plans.
12:3
לֹא־יִכּ֣וֹן אָדָ֣ם בְּרֶ֑שַׁע וְשֹׁ֥רֶשׁ צַ֝דִּיקִ֗ים בַּל־יִמּֽוֹט׃
οὐ κατορθώσει ἄνθρωπος ἐξ ἀνόμου αἱ δὲ ῥίζαι τῶν δικαίων οὐκ ἐξαρθήσονται
Non roborabitur homo ex impietate, et radix justorum non commovebitur.
ዘኢያረትዕ፡ ሰብእ፡ እምዓመፃ፡ ይትኀጐል፡ ወሥርወ፡ ጻድቃንሰ፡ ኢይትመሐው።
A man shall not be established by wickedness, but the root of the righteous shall not be moved.
12:4
אֵֽשֶׁת־חַ֭יִל עֲטֶ֣רֶת בַּעְלָ֑הּ וּכְרָקָ֖ב בְּעַצְמוֹתָ֣יו מְבִישָֽׁה׃
γυνὴ ἀνδρεία στέφανος τῷ ἀνδρὶ αὐτῆς ὥσπερ δὲ ἐν ξύλῳ σκώληξ οὕτως ἄνδρα ἀπόλλυσιν γυνὴ κακοποιός
Mulier diligens corona est viro suo ; et putredo in ossibus ejus, quae confusione res dignas gerit.
ብእሲት፡ አዛዝ፡ አክሊል፡ ለምታ፡ ወከመ፡ ዕፄ፡ ለዕፅ፡ ከማሁ፡ ብእሲት፡ እኪተ፡ ምግባር፡ ታኀጒል፡ ልበ፡ ብእሲ።
A worthy woman is the crown of her husband, but a disgraceful wife is as rottenness in his bones.
12:5
מַחְשְׁב֣וֹת צַדִּיקִ֣ים מִשְׁפָּ֑ט תַּחְבֻּל֖וֹת רְשָׁעִ֣ים מִרְמָֽה׃
λογισμοὶ δικαίων κρίματα κυβερνῶσιν δὲ ἀσεβεῖς δόλους
Cogitationes justorum judicia, et consilia impiorum fraudulenta.
ሕሊናሆሙ፡ ለጻድቃን፡ ፍትሕ፡ ወይሔድፉ፡ ረሲዓን፡ ሕብለ።
The thoughts of the righteous are just, but the advice of the wicked is deceitful.
12:6
דִּבְרֵ֣י רְשָׁעִ֣ים אֱרׇב־דָּ֑ם וּפִ֥י יְ֝שָׁרִ֗ים יַצִּילֵֽם׃
λόγοι ἀσεβῶν δόλιοι στόμα δὲ ὀρθῶν ῥύσεται αὐτούς
Verba impiorum insidiantur sanguini ; os justorum liberabit eos.
ነገረ፡ ረሲዓን፡ ጒሕሉት፡ ወአፈ፡ ረሲዓንሰ፡ ታድኅኖሙ።
The words of the wicked are about lying in wait for blood, but the speech of the upright rescues them.
12:7
הָפ֣וֹךְ רְשָׁעִ֣ים וְאֵינָ֑ם וּבֵ֖ית צַדִּיקִ֣ים יַעֲמֹֽד׃
οὗ ἐὰν στραφῇ ἀσεβὴς ἀφανίζεται οἶκοι δὲ δικαίων παραμένουσιν
Verte impios, et non erunt ; domus autem justorum permanebit.
ኀበ፡ ተመይጠ፡ ረሲዕ፡ ይማስን፡ አብያተ፡ ጻድቃንሰ፡ ይሄልዉ።
The wicked are overthrown, and are no more, but the house of the righteous shall stand.
12:8
לְֽפִי־שִׂ֭כְלוֹ יְהֻלַּל־אִ֑ישׁ וְנַעֲוֵה־לֵ֝֗ב יִהְיֶ֥ה לָבֽוּז׃
στόμα συνετοῦ ἐγκωμιάζεται ὑπὸ ἀνδρός νωθροκάρδιος δὲ μυκτηρίζεται
Doctrina sua noscetur vir ; qui autem vanus et excors est patebit contemptui.
አፈ፡ ጠቢብ፡ ይትዌደስ፡ በኀበ፡ ኵሉ፡ ሰብእ፡ ወእዩየ፡ ልብሰ፡ ይትሜነን።
A man shall be commended according to his wisdom, but he who has a warped mind shall be despised.
12:9
ט֣וֹב נִ֭קְלֶה וְעֶ֣בֶד ל֑וֹ מִ֝מִּתְכַּבֵּ֗ד וַחֲסַר־לָֽחֶם׃
κρείσσων ἀνὴρ ἐν ἀτιμίᾳ δουλεύων ἑαυτῷ ἢ τιμὴν ἑαυτῷ περιτιθεὶς καὶ προσδεόμενος ἄρτου
Melior est pauper et sufficiens sibi quam gloriosus et indigens pane.
ይኄይስ፡ ብእሲ፡ ዘበኃሣሩ፡ ይትቀነይ፡ እምነ፡ ዘያነብር፡ ክብረ፡ ሎቱ፡ ወይትፈአም፡ ኅብስተ።
Better is he who is little known, and has a servant, than he who honors himself and lacks bread.
12:10
יוֹדֵ֣עַ צַ֭דִּיק נֶ֣פֶשׁ בְּהֶמְתּ֑וֹ וְֽרַחֲמֵ֥י רְ֝שָׁעִ֗ים אַכְזָרִֽי׃
δίκαιος οἰκτίρει ψυχὰς κτηνῶν αὐτοῦ τὰ δὲ σπλάγχνα τῶν ἀσεβῶν ἀνελεήμονα
Novit justus jumentorum suorum animas ; viscera autem impiorum crudelia.
ይምሕር፡ ጻድቅ፡ ነፍሰ፡ እንስሳሁ፡ ወምሕረቶሙሰ፡ ለረሲዓን፡ ኢ፡ ምጽዋት።
A righteous man respects the life of his animal, but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.
12:11
עֹבֵ֣ד אַ֭דְמָתוֹ יִֽשְׂבַּֽע־לָ֑חֶם וּמְרַדֵּ֖ף רֵיקִ֣ים חֲסַר־לֵֽב׃
ὁ ἐργαζόμενος τὴν ἑαυτοῦ γῆν ἐμπλησθήσεται ἄρτων οἱ δὲ διώκοντες μάταια ἐνδεεῖς φρενῶν ὅς ἐστιν ἡδὺς ἐν οἴνων διατριβαῖς ἐν τοῖς ἑαυτοῦ ὀχυρώμασιν καταλείψει ἀτιμίαν
Qui operatur terram suam satiabitur panibus ; qui autem sectatur otium stultissimus est. Qui suavis est in vini demorationibus, in suis munitionibus relinquit contumeliam.
ዘይትጌበራ፡ ለምድር፡ ያበዝኅ፡ ኅብስተ፡ ወዘሰ፡ ይዴግን፡ ጽርዓተ፡ ያስተጋብእ፡ ንዴተ፡ እስመ፡ ውእቱ፡ ነዳየ፡ አእምሮ።
He who tills his land shall have plenty of bread, but he who chases fantasies is void of understanding.
12:12
חָמַ֣ד רָ֭שָׁע מְצ֣וֹד רָעִ֑ים וְשֹׁ֖רֶשׁ צַדִּיקִ֣ים יִתֵּֽן׃
ἐπιθυμίαι ἀσεβῶν κακαί αἱ δὲ ῥίζαι τῶν εὐσεβῶν ἐν ὀχυρώμασιν
Desiderium impii munimentum est pessimorum ; radix autem justorum proficiet.
ዝ፡ ውእቱ፡ ምዑዝ፡ ለመትልወ፡ ወይን፡ ወበኀይለ፡ ዚአሁ፡ የኃድግ፡ ኃሣረ።
The wicked desires the plunder of evil men, but the root of the righteous flourishes.
12:13
בְּפֶ֣שַׁע שְׂ֭פָתַיִם מוֹקֵ֣שׁ רָ֑ע וַיֵּצֵ֖א מִצָּרָ֣ה צַדִּֽיק׃
δῑ ἁμαρτίαν χειλέων ἐμπίπτει εἰς παγίδας ἁμαρτωλός ἐκφεύγει δὲ ἐξ αὐτῶν δίκαιος ὁ βλέπων λεῖα ἐλεηθήσεται ὁ δὲ συναντῶν ἐν πύλαις ἐκθλίψει ψυχάς
Propter peccata labiorum ruina proximat malo ; effugiet autem justus de angustia.
ፍትወተ፡ ረሲዓን፡ እኪት፡ ወሥርዎሙሰ፡ ለኄራን፡ ውስተ፡ ጽንዕ።
An evil man is trapped by sinfulness of lips, but the righteous shall come out of trouble.
12:14
מִפְּרִ֣י פִי־אִ֭ישׁ יִשְׂבַּע־ט֑וֹב וּגְמ֥וּל יְדֵי־אָ֝דָ֗ם (ישוב) [יָשִׁ֥יב] לֽוֹ׃
ἀπὸ καρπῶν στόματος ψυχὴ ἀνδρὸς πλησθήσεται ἀγαθῶν ἀνταπόδομα δὲ χειλέων αὐτοῦ δοθήσεται αὐτῷ
De fructu oris sui unusquisque replebitur bonis, et juxta opera manuum suarum retribuetur ei.
በኃጢአተ፡ ከናፍሪሁ፡ ይወድቅ፡ ኃጥእ፡ ውስተ፡ መሥገርት፡ ወያመሥጥ፡ እምኔሁ፡ ጻድቅ።
A man shall be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth. The work of a man’s hands shall be rewarded to him.
12:15
דֶּ֣רֶךְ אֱ֭וִיל יָשָׁ֣ר בְּעֵינָ֑יו וְשֹׁמֵ֖עַ לְעֵצָ֣ה חָכָֽם׃
ὁδοὶ ἀφρόνων ὀρθαὶ ἐνώπιον αὐτῶν εἰσακούει δὲ συμβουλίας σοφός
Via stulti recta in oculis ejus ; qui autem sapiens est audit consilia.
ዘይኔጽር፡ ሰፉሐ፡ ይትሜሀር፡ ወዘሰ፡ ይዳደቅ፡ በአናቅጽ፡ ያመነድብ፡ ነፍሳተ።
The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but he who is wise listens to counsel.
12:16
אֱוִ֗יל בַּ֭יּוֹם יִוָּדַ֣ע כַּעְס֑וֹ וְכֹסֶ֖ה קָל֣וֹן עָרֽוּם׃
ἄφρων αὐθημερὸν ἐξαγγέλλει ὀργὴν αὐτοῦ κρύπτει δὲ τὴν ἑαυτοῦ ἀτιμίαν πανοῦργος
Fatuus statim indicat iram suam ; qui autem dissimulat injuriam callidus est.
እምፍሬ፡ አፉሁ፡ ነፍሰ፡ ብእሲ፡ ይመልእ፡ በረከተ፡ ወዕሤተ፡ ከናፍሪሁ፡ ይትወሀብ፡ ሎቱ።
A fool shows his annoyance the same day, but one who overlooks an insult is prudent.
12:17
יָפִ֣יחַ אֱ֭מוּנָה יַגִּ֣יד צֶ֑דֶק וְעֵ֖ד שְׁקָרִ֣ים מִרְמָֽה׃
ἐπιδεικνυμένην πίστιν ἀπαγγέλλει δίκαιος ὁ δὲ μάρτυς τῶν ἀδίκων δόλιος
Qui quod novit loquitur, index justitiae est ; qui autem mentitur, testis est fraudulentus.
ፍኖተ፡ ዓብዳን፡ ርቱዕ፡ በቅድሜሆሙ፡ ወይሰምዕ፡ ምክረ፡ ዕዝነ፡ ጠቢብ።
He who is truthful testifies honestly, but a false witness lies.
12:18
יֵ֣שׁ בּ֭וֹטֶה כְּמַדְקְר֣וֹת חָ֑רֶב וּלְשׁ֖וֹן חֲכָמִ֣ים מַרְפֵּֽא׃
εἰσὶν οἳ λέγοντες τιτρώσκουσιν μαχαίρᾳ γλῶσσαι δὲ σοφῶν ἰῶνται
Est qui promittit, et quasi gladio pungitur conscientiae : lingua autem sapientium sanitas est.
ዓብድ፡ እንተ፡ ጸብሐት፡ ይነግር፡ መዓቶ፡ ማእምርሰ፡ የኀብእ፡ ኃሣሮ።
There is one who speaks rashly like the piercing of a sword, but the tongue of the wise heals.
12:19
שְֽׂפַת־אֱ֭מֶת תִּכּ֣וֹן לָעַ֑ד וְעַד־אַ֝רְגִּ֗יעָה לְשׁ֣וֹן שָֽׁקֶר׃
χείλη ἀληθινὰ κατορθοῖ μαρτυρίαν μάρτυς δὲ ταχὺς γλῶσσαν ἔχει ἄδικον
Labium veritatis firmum erit in perpetuum ; qui autem testis est repentinus, concinnat linguam mendacii.
እንተ፡ ታስተርኢ፡ ሃይማኖተ፡ ይነግር፡ ብእሲ፡ ጻድቅ፡ ወሰማዕተ፡ እኩያንሰ፡ ሕብል።
Truth’s lips will be established forever, but a lying tongue is only momentary.
12:20
מִ֭רְמָה בְּלֶב־חֹ֣רְשֵׁי רָ֑ע וּֽלְיֹעֲצֵ֖י שָׁל֣וֹם שִׂמְחָֽה׃
δόλος ἐν καρδίᾳ τεκταινομένου κακά οἱ δὲ βουλόμενοι εἰρήνην εὐφρανθήσονται
Dolus in corde cogitantium mala ; qui autem pacis ineunt consilia, sequitur eos gaudium.
እለሰ፡ ይከውኑ፡ ስምዐ፡ በሐሰት፡ ይቀትሉ፡ በመጥባሕት፡ እስመ፡ ንቡር፡ ውስተ፡ አፉሆሙ፡ መጥባሕት፡ ወልሳነ፡ ጠቢባንሰ፡ ይፌውስ፡ ዘቈስለ።
Deceit is in the heart of those who plot evil, but joy comes to the promoters of peace.
12:21
לֹא־יְאֻנֶּ֣ה לַצַּדִּ֣יק כׇּל־אָ֑וֶן וּ֝רְשָׁעִ֗ים מָ֣לְאוּ רָֽע׃
οὐκ ἀρέσει τῷ δικαίῳ οὐδὲν ἄδικον οἱ δὲ ἀσεβεῖς πλησθήσονται κακῶν
Non contristabit justum quidquid ei acciderit : impii autem replebuntur malo.
ከናፍረ፡ ጻድቃን፡ ያረትዓ፡ ስምዐ፡ ወሰማዕት፡ ጒጒዕ፡ በልሳን፡ እኩይ።
No mischief shall happen to the righteous, but the wicked shall be filled with evil.
12:22
תּוֹעֲבַ֣ת יְ֭הֹוָה שִׂפְתֵי־שָׁ֑קֶר וְעֹשֵׂ֖י אֱמוּנָ֣ה רְצוֹנֽוֹ׃
βδέλυγμα κυρίῳ χείλη ψευδῆ ὁ δὲ ποιῶν πίστεις δεκτὸς παρ’ αὐτῷ
Abominatio est Domino labia mendacia ; qui autem fideliter agunt placent ei.
ሕብል፡ ውስተ፡ ልቡ፡ ለዘይሔሊ፡ እኩየ፡ ወእለሰ፡ ይፈቅዱ፡ ሰላመ፡ ይትፌሥሑ።
Lying lips are an abomination to Yahweh, but those who do the truth are his delight.
12:23
אָדָ֣ם עָ֭רוּם כֹּ֣סֶה דָּ֑עַת וְלֵ֥ב כְּ֝סִילִ֗ים יִקְרָ֥א אִוֶּֽלֶת׃
ἀνὴρ συνετὸς θρόνος αἰσθήσεως καρδία δὲ ἀφρόνων συναντήσεται ἀραῖς
Homo versatus celat scientiam, et cor insipientium provocat stultitiam.
ኢያሠምሮ፡ ለጻድቃን፡ ምንትኒ፡ እኩይ፡ ወረሲዓንሰ፡ ያበዝኁ፡ እከየ።
A prudent man keeps his knowledge, but the hearts of fools proclaim foolishness.
12:24
יַד־חָרוּצִ֥ים תִּמְשׁ֑וֹל וּ֝רְמִיָּ֗ה תִּהְיֶ֥ה לָמַֽס׃
χεὶρ ἐκλεκτῶν κρατήσει εὐχερῶς δόλιοι δὲ ἔσονται εἰς προνομήν
Manus fortium dominabitur ; quae autem remissa est, tributis serviet.
ምኑናት፡ በኀበ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ከናፍረ፡ ሐሰት፡ ወዘይገብርሰ፡ ሃይማኖተ፡ ሥሙር፡ በኀቤሁ።
The hands of the diligent ones shall rule, but laziness ends in slave labor.
12:25
דְּאָגָ֣ה בְלֶב־אִ֣ישׁ יַשְׁחֶ֑נָּה וְדָבָ֖ר ט֣וֹב יְשַׂמְּחֶֽנָּה׃
φοβερὸς λόγος καρδίαν ταράσσει ἀνδρὸς δικαίου ἀγγελία δὲ ἀγαθὴ εὐφραίνει αὐτόν
Moeror in corde viri humiliabit illum, et sermone bono laetificabitur.
ብእሲ፡ ማእምር፡ መንበረ፡ ጥበብ፡ ወልበ፡ ዓብዳንሰ፡ ይዳደቅ፡ መርገመ።
Anxiety in a man’s heart weighs it down, but a kind word makes it glad.
12:26
יָתֵ֣ר מֵרֵעֵ֣הוּ צַדִּ֑יק וְדֶ֖רֶךְ רְשָׁעִ֣ים תַּתְעֵֽם׃
ἐπιγνώμων δίκαιος ἑαυτοῦ φίλος ἔσται αἱ δὲ γνῶμαι τῶν ἀσεβῶν ἀνεπιεικεῖς ἁμαρτάνοντας καταδιώξεται κακά ἡ δὲ ὁδὸς τῶν ἀσεβῶν πλανήσει αὐτούς
Qui negligit damnum propter amicum, justus est ; iter autem impiorum decipiet eos.
እደ፡ ኅሩያን፡ ይእኅዝ፡ ፍጡነ፡ ወሕቡላንሰ፡ ይከውኑ፡ ለፂዋዌ።
A righteous person is cautious in friendship, but the way of the wicked leads them astray.
12:27
לֹא־יַחֲרֹ֣ךְ רְמִיָּ֣ה צֵיד֑וֹ וְהוֹן־אָדָ֖ם יָקָ֣ר חָרֽוּץ׃
οὐκ ἐπιτεύξεται δόλιος θήρας κτῆμα δὲ τίμιον ἀνὴρ καθαρός
Non inveniet fraudulentus lucrum, et substantia hominis erit auri pretium.
መደንግፅ፡ ቃል፡ የሀውከ፡ ልበ፡ ብእሲ፡ ጻድቅ፡ ወዜና፡ ሠናይሰ፡ ያስተፌሥሕ፡ ልበ፡ ብእሲ፡ ጠቢብ።
The slothful man doesn’t roast his game, but the possessions of diligent men are prized.
12:28
בְּאֹֽרַח־צְדָקָ֥ה חַיִּ֑ים וְדֶ֖רֶךְ נְתִיבָ֣הֿ אַל־מָֽוֶת׃
ἐν ὁδοῖς δικαιοσύνης ζωή ὁδοὶ δὲ μνησικάκων εἰς θάνατον
In semita justitiae vita ; iter autem devium ducit ad mortem.
ማእምረ፡ ርእሱ፡ ጻድቅ፡ ውእቱ፡ ለርእሱ፡ ወግዕዞሙሰ፡ ለረሲዓን፡ አኮ፡ አዳም።
In the way of righteousness is life; in its path there is no death.
12:29———
ለአላ፡ ይኤብሱ፡ ይዴግኖሙ፡ እኩይ፡ ወፍኖቶሙሰ፡ ለረሲዓን፡ ታስሕቶሙ።

ይዳደቅ፡ ሕብል፡ ለአስግሮ፡ ጥሪት፡ ወክቡር፡ ብእሲ፡ ንጹሕ።

12:31———
ውስተ፡ ፍናወ፡ ጽድቅ፡ ሕይወት፡ ወእለሰ፡ ይዜከሩ፡ እኩየ፡ ውስተ፡ ሞት፡ ይሄልዉ።
In the way of righteousness is life; in its path there is no death.
