27:1
Πρωΐας δὲ γενομένης συμβούλιον ἔλαβον πάντες οἱ ἀρχιερεῖς καὶ οἱ πρεσβύτεροι τοῦ λαοῦ κατὰ τοῦ Ἰησοῦ, ὥστε θανατῶσαι αὐτόν.
Mane autem facto, consilium inierunt omnes principes sacerdotum et seniores populi adversus Jesum, ut eum morti traderent.
ወጸቢሖ ተማከሩ ሊቃነ ካህናት ወረበናተ ሕዝብ ይቅትልዎ ለእግዚእ ኢየሱስ።
Now when morning had come, all the chief priests and the elders of the people took counsel against Jesus to put him to death.
27:2
καὶ δήσαντες αὐτὸν ἀπήγαγον καὶ παρέδωκαν Πειλάτῳ τῷ ἡγεμόνι.
Et vinctum adduxerunt eum, et tradiderunt Pontio Pilato praesidi.
ወአሲሮሙ ወሰድዎ፥ ወመጠውዎ ለጲላጦስ ጰንጤናዊ መልአከ አሕዛብ።
They bound him, led him away, and delivered him up to Pontius Pilate, the governor.
27:3
Τότε ἰδὼν Ἰούδας ὁ παραδιδοὺς αὐτὸν ὅτι κατεκρίθη μεταμεληθεὶς ἔστρεψεν τὰ τριάκοντα ἀργύρια τοῖς ἀρχιερεῦσιν καὶ πρεσβυτέροις
Tunc videns Judas, qui eum tradidit, quod damnatus esset, poenitentia ductus, retulit triginta argenteos principibus sacerdotum, et senioribus,
ወእምዝ ሶበ ርእየ ይሁዳ ዘአግብኦ ከመ አርስሕዎ ነስሐ ወአግብአ ውእተ ሠላሳ ብሩረ ለሊቃነ ካህናት ወለሊቃናተ ሕዝብ እንዘ ይብል አበስኩ ዘአግባእኩ ደመ ንጹሐ ወዘአቅተልኩ ጻድቀ።
Then Judas, who betrayed him, when he saw that Jesus was condemned, felt remorse, and brought back the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders,
27:4
λέγων· ἥμαρτον παραδοὺς αἷμα ἀθῷον. οἱ δὲ εἶπον· τί πρὸς ἡμᾶς; σὺ ὄψῃ.
dicens : Peccavi, tradens sanguinem justum. At illi dixerunt : Quid ad nos ? tu videris.
ወይቤልዎ ሚ ላዕሌነ ወሚ ላዕሌከ ለሊከ አእምር።
saying, “I have sinned in that I betrayed innocent blood.” But they said, “What is that to us? You see to it.”
27:5
καὶ ῥίψας τὰ ἀργύρια εἰς τὸν ναὸν ἀνεχώρησεν, καὶ ἀπελθὼν ἀπήγξατο.
Et projectis argenteis in templo, recessit : et abiens laqueo se suspendit.
ወገደፈ ውእተ ብሩረ ውስተ ምኵራብ ወሖረ ወተሐንቀ ወሞተ።
He threw down the pieces of silver in the sanctuary and departed. Then he went away and hanged himself.
27:6
οἱ δὲ ἀρχιερεῖς λαβόντες τὰ ἀργύρια εἶπαν· οὐκ ἔξεστιν βαλεῖν αὐτὰ εἰς τὸν κορβανᾶν, ἐπεὶ τιμὴ αἵματός ἐστιν.
Principes autem sacerdotum, acceptis argenteis, dixerunt : Non licet eos mittere in corbonam : quia pretium sanguinis est.
ወነሥኡ ሊቃነ ካህናት ውእተ ብሩረ ወይቤሉ ኢይደልወነ ንደዮ ውስተ ቤተ መባእ እስመ ሤጠ ደም ውእቱ።
The chief priests took the pieces of silver and said, “It’s not lawful to put them into the treasury, since it is the price of blood.”
27:7
συμβούλιον δὲ λαβόντες ἠγόρασαν ἐξ αὐτῶν τὸν ἀγρὸν τοῦ κεραμέως εἰς ταφὴν τοῖς ξένοις.
Consilio autem inito, emerunt ex illis agrum figuli, in sepulturam peregrinorum.
ወተማኪሮሙ ተሣየጡ ቦቱ ገራህተ ለብሓዊ ለመቃብረ እንግዳ።
They took counsel, and bought the potter’s field with them to bury strangers in.
27:8
διὸ ἐκλήθη ὁ ἀγρὸς ἐκεῖνος ἀγρὸς αἵματος ἕως τῆς σήμερον.
Propter hoc vocatus est ager ille, Haceldama, hoc est, Ager sanguinis, usque in hodiernum diem.
ወተሰምየ ውእቱ ገራህት ገራህተ ደም እስከ ዮም።
Therefore that field has been called “The Field of Blood” to this day.
27:9
τότε ἐπληρώθη τὸ ῥηθὲν διὰ Ἰερεμίου τοῦ προφήτου λέγοντος· καὶ ἔλαβον τὰ τριάκοντα ἀργύρια, τὴν τιμὴν τοῦ τετιμημένου ὃν ἐτιμήσαντο ἀπὸ υἱῶν Ἰσραήλ,
Tunc impletum est quod dictum est per Jeremiam prophetam, dicentem : Et acceperunt triginta argenteos pretium appretiati, quem appretiaverunt a filiis Israël :
ወይእተ አሚረ በጽሐ ቃለ ኤርምያስ ነቢይ ዘይቤ «ነሥኡ ሠላሳ ብሩረ ሤጦ ለክቡር ዘአክበርዎ ደቂቀ እስራኤል።
Then that which was spoken through Jeremiah the prophet was fulfilled, saying, “They took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of him upon whom a price had been set, whom some of the children of Israel priced,
27:10
καὶ ἔδωκαν αὐτὰ εἰς τὸν ἀγρὸν τοῦ κεραμέως, καθὰ συνέταξέν μοι κύριος.
et dederunt eos in agrum figuli, sicut constituit mihi Dominus.
ወወሀብዎ ለገራህተ ለብሓዊ በከመ አዘዘኒ እግዚአብሔር።»
and they gave them for the potter’s field, as the Lord commanded me.”
27:11
Ὁ δὲ Ἰησοῦς ἐστάθη ἔμπροσθεν τοῦ ἡγεμόνος· καὶ ἐπηρώτησεν αὐτὸν ὁ ἡγεμὼν λέγων· σὺ εἶ ὁ βασιλεὺς τῶν Ἰουδαίων; ὁ δὲ Ἰησοῦς ἔφη, σὺ λέγεις.
Jesus autem stetit ante praesidem, et interrogavit eum praeses, dicens : Tu es rex Judaeorum ? Dicit illi Jesus : Tu dicis.
ወቆመ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ቅድሜሁ ለመልአከ አሕዛብ ወተስእሎ መልአከ አሕዛብ ወይቤሎ አንተሁ ንጉሦሙ ለአይሁድ ወይቤሎ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ አንተ ትቤ።
Now Jesus stood before the governor; and the governor asked him, saying, “Are you the King of the Jews?” Jesus said to him, “So you say.”
27:12
καὶ ἐν τῷ κατηγορεῖσθαι αὐτὸν ὑπὸ τῶν ἀρχιερέων καὶ πρεσβυτέρων οὐδὲν ἀπεκρίνατο.
Et cum accusaretur a principibus sacerdotum et senioribus, nihil respondit.
ወእንዘ ያስተዋድይዎ ሊቃነ ካህናት ወሊቃውንተ ሕዝብ አልቦ ዘተሰጥዎሙ ወኢምንተሂ።
When he was accused by the chief priests and elders, he answered nothing.
27:13
τότε λέγει αὐτῷ ὁ Πειλᾶτος· οὐκ ἀκούεις πόσα σου καταμαρτυροῦσιν;
Tunc dicit illi Pilatus : Non audis quanta adversum te dicunt testimonia ?
ወእምዝ ይቤሎ ጲላጦስ ኢትሰምዕኑ እንዘ መጠነ ዝ ያስተዋድዩከ።
Then Pilate said to him, “Don’t you hear how many things they testify against you?”
27:14
καὶ οὐκ ἀπεκρίθη αὐτῷ πρὸς οὐδὲ ἓν ῥῆμα, ὥστε θαυμάζειν τὸν ἡγεμόνα λίαν.
Et non respondit ei ad ullum verbum, ita ut miraretur praeses vehementer.
ወኢያውሥኦ ወኢአሐተኒ ቃለ እስከ ያነክር መልአክ።
He gave him no answer, not even one word, so that the governor marveled greatly.
27:15
Κατὰ δὲ ἑορτὴν εἰώθει ὁ ἡγεμὼν ἀπολύειν ἕνα τῷ ὄχλῳ δέσμιον ὃν ἤθελον.
Per diem autem solemnem consueverat praeses populo dimittere unum vinctum, quem voluissent :
ወቦ ልማድ ለመስፍን ለለ በዓል ያሕዩ ሎሙ ለሕዝብ አሐደ እምነ ሙቁሓን ዘፈቀዱ።
Now at the feast the governor was accustomed to release to the multitude one prisoner whom they desired.
27:16
εἶχον δὲ τότε δέσμιον ἐπίσημον, λεγόμενον Βαραββᾶν.
habebat autem tunc vinctum insignem, qui dicebatur Barabbas.
ወቦ አሜሃ ሙቁሕ ዘስሙ በርባን ስሙዕ ወየአምሮ ኵሉ ሰብእ።
They had then a notable prisoner called Barabbas.
27:17
συνηγμένων οὖν αὐτῶν εἶπεν αὐτοῖς ὁ Πειλᾶτος· τίνα θέλετε ἀπολύσω ὑμῖν, Βαραββᾶν ἢ Ἰησοῦν τὸν λεγόμενον Χριστόν;
Congregatis ergo illis, dixit Pilatus : Quem vultis dimittam vobis : Barabbam, an Jesum, qui dicitur Christus ?
ወእንዘ ጉቡኣን እሙንቱ ይቤሎሙ ጲላጦስ ለሕዝብ መነ ትፈቅዱ አሕዩ ለክሙ በርባንሃኑ ወሚመ ኢየሱስሃ ዘይብልዎ ክርስቶስ።
When therefore they were gathered together, Pilate said to them, “Whom do you want me to release to you? Barabbas, or Jesus who is called Christ?”
27:18
ᾔδει γὰρ ὅτι διὰ φθόνον παρέδωκαν αὐτόν.
Sciebat enim quod per invidiam tradidissent eum.
እስመ የአምር ከመ በቅንአቶሙ አግብእዎ።
For he knew that because of envy they had delivered him up.
27:19
καθημένου δὲ αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ τοῦ βήματος ἀπέστειλεν πρὸς αὐτὸν ἡ γυνὴ αὐτοῦ λέγουσα· μηδὲν σοὶ καὶ τῷ δικαίῳ ἐκείνῳ· πολλὰ γὰρ ἔπαθον σήμερον κατ’ ὄναρ δι’ αὐτόν.
Sedente autem illo pro tribunali, misit ad eum uxor ejus, dicens : Nihil tibi, et justo illi : multa enim passa sum hodie per visum propter eum.
ወእንዘ ይነብር ጲላጦስ ዐውደ ለአከት ኀቤሁ ብእሲቱ እንዘ ትብል ዑቅአ ኢተአብስ ላዕለ ውእቱ ጻድቅ እስመ ብዙኀ ሐመምኩ በዛቲ ሌሊት በሕልምየ በእንቲኣሁ።
While he was sitting on the judgment seat, his wife sent to him, saying, “Have nothing to do with that righteous man, for I have suffered many things today in a dream because of him.”
27:20
οἱ δὲ ἀρχιερεῖς καὶ οἱ πρεσβύτεροι ἔπεισαν τοὺς ὄχλους ἵνα αἰτήσωνται τὸν Βαραββᾶν, τὸν δὲ Ἰησοῦν ἀπολέσωσιν.
Principes autem sacerdotum et seniores persuaserunt populis ut peterent Barabbam, Jesum vero perderent.
ወሊቃነ ካህናትሰ ወረበናት ኄጥዎሙ ለሕዝብ ወኦሆ አበልዎሙ ይስአሉ ከመ በርባንሃ ያሕዩ ሎሙ ወኢየሱስሃ ይስቅሉ።
Now the chief priests and the elders persuaded the multitudes to ask for Barabbas and destroy Jesus.
27:21
ἀποκριθεὶς δὲ ὁ ἡγεμὼν εἶπεν αὐτοῖς· τίνα θέλετε ἀπὸ τῶν δύο ἀπολύσω ὑμῖν; οἱ δὲ εἶπαν· τὸν Βαραββᾶν.
Respondens autem praeses, ait illis : Quem vultis vobis de duobus dimitti ? At illi dixerunt : Barabbam.
ወአውሥአ መስፍን ወይቤሎሙ መነ ትፈቅዱ እምክልኤሆሙ አሕዩ ለክሙ ወይቤሉ በርባንሃ።
But the governor answered them, “Which of the two do you want me to release to you?” They said, “Barabbas!”
27:22
λέγει αὐτοῖς ὁ Πειλᾶτος· τί οὖν ποιήσω Ἰησοῦν τὸν λεγόμενον Χριστόν; λέγουσιν πάντες· σταυρωθήτω.
Dicit illis Pilatus : Quid igitur faciam de Jesu, qui dicitur Christus ?
ወይቤሎሙ ጲላጦስ ምንተ እንከ እረስዮ ለኢየሱስ ዘተብህለ ክርስቶስ ወይቤሉ ኵሎሙ ስቅሎ።
Pilate said to them, “What then shall I do to Jesus who is called Christ?” They all said to him, “Let him be crucified!”
27:23
ὁ δὲ ἔφη· τί γὰρ κακὸν ἐποίησεν; οἱ δὲ περισσῶς ἔκραζον λέγοντες· σταυρωθήτω.
Dicunt omnes : Crucifigatur. Ait illis praeses : Quid enim mali fecit ? At illi magis clamabant dicentes : Crucifigatur.
ወይቤሎሙ መስፍን ምንተ እኩየ ገብረ ወአፈድፈዱ ጸሪሐ እንዘ ይብሉ ስቅሎ ስቅሎ።
But the governor said, “Why? What evil has he done?” But they cried out exceedingly, saying, “Let him be crucified!”
27:24
ἰδὼν δὲ ὁ Πειλᾶτος ὅτι οὐδὲν ὠφελεῖ ἀλλὰ μᾶλλον θόρυβος γίνεται, λαβὼν ὕδωρ ἀπενίψατο τὰς χεῖρας ἀπέναντι τοῦ ὄχλου, λέγων· ἀθῷός εἰμι ἀπὸ τοῦ αἵματος τούτου· ὑμεῖς ὄψεσθε.
Videns autem Pilatus quia nihil proficeret, sed magis tumultus fieret : accepta aqua, lavit manus coram populo, dicens : Innocens ego sum a sanguine justi hujus : vos videritis.
ወእምዝ ሶበ ርእየ ጲላጦስ ከመ አልቦ ዘይበቍዕ ዘእንበለ ዳዕሙ ዘይበዝኅ ሀከክ ነሥአ ማየ ወተኀፅበ እዴሁ በቅድሜሆሙ ለሕዝብ እንዘ ይብል ንጹሕ አነ እምደሙ ለዝ ብእሲ ጻድቅ ወአንትሙ ለሊክሙ አእምሩ።
So when Pilate saw that nothing was being gained, but rather that a disturbance was starting, he took water and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, “I am innocent of the blood of this righteous person. You see to it.”
27:25
καὶ ἀποκριθεὶς πᾶς ὁ λαὸς εἶπεν· τὸ αἷμα αὐτοῦ ἐφ’ ἡμᾶς καὶ ἐπὶ τὰ τέκνα ἡμῶν.
Et respondens universus populus, dixit : Sanguis ejus super nos, et super filios nostros.
ወአውሥኡ ወይቤሉ ኵሎሙ ሕዝብ ደሙ ላዕሌነ ወላዕለ ውሉድነ።
All the people answered, “May his blood be on us and on our children!”
27:26
τότε ἀπέλυσεν αὐτοῖς τὸν Βαραββᾶν, τὸν δὲ Ἰησοῦν φραγελλώσας παρέδωκεν ἵνα σταυρωθῇ.
Tunc dimisit illis Barabbam : Jesum autem flagellatum tradidit eis ut crucifigeretur.
ወእምዝ አሕየወ ሎሙ በርባንሃ ወቀሠፎ ለእግዚእ ኢየሱስ ወመጠዎሙ ይስቅልዎ።
Then he released Barabbas to them, but Jesus he flogged and delivered to be crucified.
27:27
Τότε οἱ στρατιῶται τοῦ ἡγεμόνος παραλαβόντες τὸν Ἰησοῦν εἰς τὸ πραιτώριον συνήγαγον ἐπ’ αὐτὸν ὅλην τὴν σπεῖραν.
Tunc milites praesidis suscipientes Jesum in praetorium, congregaverunt ad eum universam cohortem :
ወእምዝ ነሥእዎ መስተራትዓተ ሐራ ለእግዚእ ኢየሱስ ወወሰድዎ ውስተ ዐውደ ምኵናን ወአስተጋብኡ ላዕሌሁ ኵሎ ሠርዌ ሐራ።
Then the governor’s soldiers took Jesus into the Praetorium, and gathered the whole garrison together against him.
27:28
καὶ ἐκδύσαντες αὐτὸν χλαμύδα κοκκίνην περιέθηκαν αὐτῷ,
et exuentes eum, chlamydem coccineam circumdederunt ei,
ወአእተቱ አልባሲሁ ወአልበስዎ ከለሜዳ ዘለይ።
They stripped him and put a scarlet robe on him.
27:29
καὶ πλέξαντες στέφανον ἐξ ἀκανθῶν ἐπέθηκαν ἐπὶ τῆς κεφαλῆς αὐτοῦ καὶ κάλαμον ἐν τῇ δεξιᾷ αὐτοῦ, καὶ γονυπετήσαντες ἔμπροσθεν αὐτοῦ ἐνέπαιξαν αὐτῷ λέγοντες· χαῖρε ὁ βασιλεὺς τῶν Ἰουδαίων,
et plectentes coronam de spinis, posuerunt super caput ejus, et arundinem in dextera ejus. Et genu flexo ante eum, illudebant ei, dicentes : Ave rex Judaeorum.
ወጸፈሩ አክሊለ ዘሦክ ወአስተቀጸልዎ ዲበ ርእሱ ወአስተአኀዝዎ ኅለተ በየማኑ ወአስተብረኩ ቅድሜሁ ወተሣለቁ ላዕሌሁ ወይቤልዎ በሓ ንጉሠ አይሁድ።
They braided a crown of thorns and put it on his head, and a reed in his right hand; and they kneeled down before him and mocked him, saying, “Hail, King of the Jews!”
27:30
καὶ ἐμπτύσαντες εἰς αὐτὸν ἔλαβον τὸν κάλαμον καὶ ἔτυπτον εἰς τὴν κεφαλὴν αὐτοῦ.
Et exspuentes in eum, acceperunt arundinem, et percutiebant caput ejus.
ወይወርቁ ላዕሌሁ ወይኰርዕዎ ርእሶ በኅለት።
They spat on him, and took the reed and struck him on the head.
27:31
καὶ ὅτε ἐνέπαιξαν αὐτῷ, ἐκδύσαντες αὐτὸν τὴν χλαμύδα ἐνέδυσαν αὐτὸν τὰ ἱμάτια αὐτοῦ, καὶ ἀπήγαγον αὐτὸν εἰς τὸ σταυρῶσαι.
Et postquam illuserunt ei, exuerunt eum chlamyde, et induerunt eum vestimentis ejus, et duxerunt eum ut crucifigerent.
ወተሣሊቆሙ ላዕሌሁ ሰለብዎ ውእተ ከለሜዳ ዘለይ ወአልበስዎ አልባሲሁ ወወሰድዎ ይስቅልዎ።
When they had mocked him, they took the robe off him, and put his clothes on him, and led him away to crucify him.
27:32
Ἐξερχόμενοι δὲ εὗρον ἄνθρωπον Κυρηναῖον, ὀνόματι Σίμωνα· τοῦτον ἠγγάρευσαν ἵνα ἄρῃ τὸν σταυρὸν αὐτοῦ.
Exeuntes autem invenerunt hominem Cyrenaeum, nomine Simonem : hunc angariaverunt ut tolleret crucem ejus.
ወእንዘ ይወፅኡ ረከቡ ብእሴ ቀሬናዌ ዘስሙ ስምዖን ወዐበጥዎ ይጹር መስቀሎ።
As they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name, and they compelled him to go with them, that he might carry his cross.
27:33
καὶ ἐλθόντες εἰς τόπον λεγόμενον Γολγοθᾶ, ὅ ἐστιν κρανίου τόπος λεγόμενος,
Et venerunt in locum qui dicitur Golgotha, quod est Calvariae locus.
ወበጺሖሙ ብሔረ ዘስሙ ጎልጎታ ዘበትርጓሜሁ ቀራንዮ።
When they came to a place called “Golgotha”, that is to say, “The place of a skull,”
27:34
ἔδωκαν αὐτῷ πεῖν οἶνον μετὰ χολῆς μεμιγμένον· καὶ γευσάμενος οὐκ ἠθέλησεν πεῖν.
Et dederunt ei vinum bibere cum felle mistum. Et cum gustasset, noluit bibere.
ወወሀብዎ ይስተይ ወይነ ወሐሞተ ድሙረ ወጥዒሞ አበየ ሰትየ።
they gave him sour wine to drink mixed with gall. When he had tasted it, he would not drink.
27:35
σταυρώσαντες δὲ αὐτὸν διεμερίσαντο τὰ ἱμάτια αὐτοῦ βαλόντες κλῆρον,
Postquam autem crucifixerunt eum, diviserunt vestimenta ejus, sortem mittentes : ut impleretur quod dictum est per prophetam dicentem : Diviserunt sibi vestimenta mea, et super vestem meam miserunt sortem.
ወእምዝ ሰቀልዎ ወተካፈሉ አልባሲሁ ወተዐፀዉ ላዕሌሁ ከመ ይትፈጸም ቃለ መጽሐፍ ዘይቤ «ተካፈሉ አልባስየ ለርእሶሙ ወተዐፀዉ ዲበ ዐራዝየ።»
When they had crucified him, they divided his clothing among them, casting lots,
27:36
καὶ καθήμενοι ἐτήρουν αὐτὸν ἐκεῖ.
Et sedentes servabant eum.
ወነበሩ የዐቅብዎ ህየ።
and they sat and watched him there.
27:37
καὶ ἐπέθηκαν ἐπάνω τῆς κεφαλῆς αὐτοῦ τὴν αἰτίαν αὐτοῦ γεγραμμένην· οὗτός ἐστιν Ἰησοῦς ὁ βασιλεὺς τῶν Ἰουδαίων.
Et imposuerunt super caput ejus causam ipsius scriptam : Hic est Jesus rex Judaeorum.
ወአንበሩ መልዕልተ ርእሱ ጽሒፎሙ መጽሐፈ ጌጋዩ ዘይብል ዝንቱ ውእቱ ኢየሱስ ንጉሦሙ ለአይሁድ።
They set up over his head the accusation against him written, “THIS IS JESUS, THE KING OF THE JEWS.”
27:38
Τότε σταυροῦνται σὺν αὐτῷ δύο λῃσταί, εἷς ἐκ δεξιῶν καὶ εἷς ἐξ εὐωνύμων.
Tunc crucifixi sunt cum eo duo latrones : unus a dextris, et unus a sinistris.
ወእምዝ ሰቀሉ ምስሌሁ ክልኤተ ፈያተ አሐደ በየማኑ ወአሐደ በፀጋሙ።
Then there were two robbers crucified with him, one on his right hand and one on the left.
27:39
οἱ δὲ παραπορευόμενοι ἐβλασφήμουν αὐτὸν, κινοῦντες τὰς κεφαλὰς αὐτῶν
Praetereuntes autem blasphemabant eum moventes capita sua,
ወእለሂ የኀልፉ ይፀርፉ ላዕሌሁ እንዘ የሐውሱ ርእሶሙ።
Those who passed by blasphemed him, wagging their heads
27:40
καὶ λέγοντες· ὁ καταλύων τὸν ναὸν καὶ ἐν τρισὶν ἡμέραις οἰκοδομῶν, σῶσον σεαυτόν, εἰ υἱὸς εἶ τοῦ θεοῦ, καὶ κατάβηθι ἀπὸ τοῦ σταυροῦ.
et dicentes : Vah ! qui destruis templum Dei, et in triduo illud reaedificas : salva temetipsum : si Filius Dei es, descende de cruce.
ወይብሉ ኦ ዘይነሥቶ ለቤተ መቅደስ ወበሠሉስ ዕለት የሐንጾ አድኅን ርእሰከ እመሰ ወልደ እግዚአብሔር አንተ ረድ እስኩ እመስቀልከ።
and saying, “You who destroy the temple and build it in three days, save yourself! If you are the Son of God, come down from the cross!”
27:41
ὁμοίως οἱ ἀρχιερεῖς ἐμπαίζοντες μετὰ τῶν γραμματέων καὶ πρεσβυτέρων ἔλεγον·
Similiter et principes sacerdotum illudentes cum scribis et senioribus dicebant :
ወከማሁ ሊቃነ ካህናትሂ ይሣለቁ ምስለ ጸሐፍት ወሊቃናት እንዘ ይብሉ።
Likewise the chief priests also mocking with the scribes, the Pharisees, and the elders, said,
27:42
ἄλλους ἔσωσεν, ἑαυτὸν οὐ δύναται σῶσαι· βασιλεὺς Ἰσραήλ ἐστιν, καταβάτω νῦν ἀπὸ τοῦ σταυροῦ καὶ πιστεύσωμεν ἐπ’ αὐτόν·
Alios salvos fecit, seipsum non potest salvum facere : si rex Israël est, descendat nunc de cruce, et credimus ei :
ባዕደ ያድኅን ወርእሶ ኢይክል አድኅኖ እመሰ ንጉሠ እስራኤል ውእቱ ለይረድኬ ይእዜ እመስቀሉ ንርአይ ወንእመን ቦቱ።
“He saved others, but he can’t save himself. If he is the King of Israel, let him come down from the cross now, and we will believe in him.
27:43
πέποιθεν ἐπὶ τὸν θεόν, ῥυσάσθω νῦν εἰ θέλει αὐτόν· εἶπεν γὰρ ὅτι θεοῦ εἰμι υἱός.
confidit in Deo : liberet nunc, si vult eum : dixit enim : Quia Filius Dei sum.
ወለእመ ተአመነ በእግዚአብሔር ናሁ ይእዜ ለያድኅኖ እመ ይፈቅዶ እስመ ይብል ወልደ እግዚአብሔር አነ።
He trusts in God. Let God deliver him now, if he wants him; for he said, ‘I am the Son of God.’”
27:44
τὸ δ’ αὐτὸ καὶ οἱ λῃσταὶ οἱ συσταυρωθέντες σὺν αὐτῷ ὠνείδιζον αὐτόν.
Idipsum autem et latrones, qui crucifixi erant cum eo, improperabant ei.
ወከማሁ ፈያትኒ እለ ተሰቅሉ ምስሌሁ ይዘነጕጕዎ።
The robbers also who were crucified with him cast on him the same reproach.
27:45
Ἀπὸ δὲ ἕκτης ὥρας σκότος ἐγένετο ἐπὶ πᾶσαν τὴν γῆν ἕως ὥρας ἐνάτης.
A sexta autem hora tenebrae factae sunt super universam terram usque ad horam nonam.
ወእምጊዜ ስሱ ሰዓት ጸልመ ኵሉ ዓለም እስከ ተስዐቱ ሰዓት።
Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land until the ninth hour.
27:46
περὶ δὲ τὴν ἐνάτην ὥραν ἀνεβόησεν ὁ Ἰησοῦς φωνῇ μεγάλῃ λέγων· ἡλεὶ ἡλεὶ λεμὰ σαβαχθανεί; τοῦτ’ ἔστιν· θεέ μου θεέ μου, ἱνατί με ἐγκατέλιπες;
Et circa horam nonam clamavit Jesus voce magna, dicens : Eli, Eli, lamma sabacthani ? hoc est : Deus meus, Deus meus, ut quid dereliquisti me ?
ወጊዜ ተስዐቱ ሰዓት ጸርሐ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ በዐቢይ ቃል እንዘ ይብል ኤሎሄ ኤሎሄ ኤልማስ ላማ ሰበቅታኒ ዝ ውእቱ ብሂል አምላኪየ አምላኪየ ለምንት ኀደገኒ።
About the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, “Eli, Eli, lima sabachthani?” That is, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”
27:47
τινὲς δὲ τῶν ἐκεῖ ἑστηκότων ἀκούσαντες ἔλεγον ὅτι Ἡλείαν φωνεῖ οὗτος.
Quidam autem illic stantes, et audientes, dicebant : Eliam vocat iste.
ወሰሚዖሙ እለ ይቀውሙ ህየ ይቤሉ ዝሰ ኤልያስሃ ይጼውዕ።
Some of them who stood there, when they heard it, said, “This man is calling Elijah.”
27:48
καὶ εὐθέως δραμὼν εἷς ἐξ αὐτῶν καὶ λαβὼν σπόγγον πλήσας τε ὄξους καὶ περιθεὶς καλάμῳ ἐπότιζεν αὐτόν.
Et continuo currens unus ex eis, acceptam spongiam implevit aceto, et imposuit arundini, et dabat ei bibere.
ወውእተ ጊዜ ሮጸ አሐዱ እምኔሆሙ ወነሥአ ሰፍነገ ወመልአ ብሒአ ወአሰረ ውስተ ኅለት ወአሕዘዞ ውስተ አፉሁ።
Immediately one of them ran and took a sponge, filled it with vinegar, put it on a reed, and gave him a drink.
27:49
οἱ δὲ λοιποὶ ἔλεγον· ἄφες ἴδωμεν εἰ ἔρχεται Ἡλείας σώσων αὐτόν.
Ceteri vero dicebant : Sine, videamus an veniat Elias liberans eum.
ወቦ እለ ይቤሉ ኅድጉ ንርአይ ለእመ ይመጽእ ኤልያስ ያድኅኖ።
The rest said, “Let him be. Let’s see whether Elijah comes to save him.”
27:50
Ὁ δὲ Ἰησοῦς πάλιν κράξας φωνῇ μεγάλῃ ἀφῆκεν τὸ πνεῦμα.
Jesus autem iterum clamans voce magna, emisit spiritum.
ወጸርሐ ካዕበ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ በዐቢይ ቃል ወወፅአት መንፈሱ ሶቤሃ።
Jesus cried again with a loud voice, and yielded up his spirit.
27:51
καὶ ἰδοὺ τὸ καταπέτασμα τοῦ ναοῦ ἐσχίσθη ἄνωθεν ἕως κάτω εἰς δύο, καὶ ἡ γῆ ἐσείσθη, καὶ αἱ πέτραι ἐσχίσθησαν,
Et ecce velum templi scissum est in duas partes a summo usque deorsum : et terra mota est, et petrae scissae sunt,
ወተሠጠ መንጦላዕተ ቤተ መቅደስ እምላዕሉ እስከ ታሕቱ ወኮነ ለክልኤ ክፍል ወአድለቅለቀት ምድር ወነቅዐ ኰኵሕ።
Behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from the top to the bottom. The earth quaked and the rocks were split.
27:52
καὶ τὰ μνημεῖα ἀνεῴχθησαν καὶ πολλὰ σώματα τῶν κεκοιμημένων ἁγίων ἠγέρθησαν·
et monumenta aperta sunt : et multa corpora sanctorum, qui dormierant, surrexerunt.
ወተከሥቱ መቃብራት ወተንሥኡ ብዙኃን እምአብድንቲሆሙ ለጻድቃን።
The tombs were opened, and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised;
27:53
καὶ ἐξελθόντες ἐκ τῶν μνημείων μετὰ τὴν ἔγερσιν αὐτοῦ εἰσῆλθον εἰς τὴν ἁγίαν πόλιν καὶ ἐνεφανίσθησαν πολλοῖς.
Et exeuntes de monumentis post resurrectionem ejus, venerunt in sanctam civitatem, et apparuerunt multis.
ወወፅኡ እመቃብሪሆሙ ወቦኡ ውስተ ሀገር ቅድስት እምድኅረ ተንሥኡ ወአስተርአይዎሙ ለብዙኃን።
and coming out of the tombs after his resurrection, they entered into the holy city and appeared to many.
27:54
ὁ δὲ ἑκατοντάρχης καὶ οἱ μετ’ αὐτοῦ τηροῦντες τὸν Ἰησοῦν ἰδόντες τὸν σεισμὸν καὶ τὰ γινόμενα ἐφοβήθησαν σφόδρα, λέγοντες· ἀληθῶς θεοῦ υἱὸς ἦν οὗτος.
Centurio autem, et qui cum eo erant, custodientes Jesum, viso terraemotu, et his quae fiebant, timuerunt valde, dicentes : Vere Filius Dei erat iste.
ወመኰንነ ምእትሰ ወእለ ምስሌሁ የዐቅብዎ ለእግዚእ ኢየሱስ ርእዮሙ ውእተ ድልቅልቀ ዘኮነ ፈርሁ ጥቀ ወይቤሉ አማን ወልደ እግዚአብሔር ውእቱ ዝንቱ።
Now the centurion and those who were with him watching Jesus, when they saw the earthquake and the things that were done, were terrified, saying, “Truly this was the Son of God!”
27:55
Ἦσαν δὲ ἐκεῖ γυναῖκες πολλαὶ ἀπὸ μακρόθεν θεωροῦσαι, αἵτινες ἠκολούθησαν τῷ Ἰησοῦ ἀπὸ τῆς Γαλιλαίας διακονοῦσαι αὐτῷ·
Erant autem ibi mulieres multae a longe, quae secutae erant Jesum a Galilaea, ministrantes ei :
ወሀለዋ ህየ ብዙኃት አንስት እለ ይሬእያ እምርኁቅ ኵሎ ዘኮነ ወውእቶን እለ ተለዋሁ ለእግዚእ ኢየሱስ እምገሊላ ከመ ይትለአካሁ።
Many women were there watching from afar, who had followed Jesus from Galilee, serving him.
27:56
ἐν αἷς ἦν Μαρία ἡ Μαγδαληνὴ καὶ Μαρία ἡ τοῦ Ἰακώβου καὶ Ἰωσὴφ μήτηρ καὶ ἡ μήτηρ τῶν υἱῶν Ζεβεδαίου.
inter quas erat Maria Magdalene, et Maria Jacobi, et Joseph mater, et mater filiorum Zebedaei.
ወእማንቱ ማርያም መግደላዊት ወማርያም እንተ ያዕቆብ ወእሙ ለዮሳ ወእሞሙ ለደቂቀ ዘብዴዎስ።
Among them were Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James and Joses, and the mother of the sons of Zebedee.
27:57
Ὀψίας δὲ γενομένης ἦλθεν ἄνθρωπος πλούσιος ἀπὸ Ἀριμαθαίας, τοὔνομα Ἰωσήφ, ὃς καὶ αὐτὸς ἐμαθητεύθη τῷ Ἰησοῦ·
Cum autem sero factum esset, venit quidam homo dives ab Arimathaea, nomine Joseph, qui et ipse discipulus erat Jesu :
ወመስዮ መጽአ ብእሲ ባዕል እምአርማትያስ ዘስሙ ዮሴፍ ወውእቱሂ ይፀመዶ ለእግዚእ ኢየሱስ።
When evening had come, a rich man from Arimathaea named Joseph, who himself was also Jesus’ disciple, came.
27:58
οὗτος προσελθὼν τῷ Πειλάτῳ ᾐτήσατο τὸ σῶμα τοῦ Ἰησοῦ. τότε ὁ Πειλᾶτος ἐκέλευσεν ἀποδοθῆναι.
hic accessit ad Pilatum, et petiit corpus Jesu. Tunc Pilatus jussit reddi corpus.
ወሖረ ኀበ ጲላጦስ ወሰአለ ሥጋሁ ለእግዚእ ኢየሱስ ወአዘዘ ጲላጦስ የሀብዎ።
This man went to Pilate and asked for Jesus’ body. Then Pilate commanded the body to be given up.
27:59
καὶ λαβὼν τὸ σῶμα ὁ Ἰωσὴφ ἐνετύλιξεν αὐτὸ σινδόνι καθαρᾷ,
Et accepto corpore, Joseph involvit illud in sindone munda,
ወነሢኦ ዮሴፍ ሥጋሁ ለእግዚእ ኢየሱስ ገነዞ በሰንዱናት ንጹሕ።
Joseph took the body and wrapped it in a clean linen cloth
27:60
καὶ ἔθηκεν αὐτὸ ἐν τῷ καινῷ αὐτοῦ μνημείῳ ὃ ἐλατόμησεν ἐν τῇ πέτρᾳ, καὶ προσκυλίσας λίθον μέγαν τῇ θύρᾳ τοῦ μνημείου ἀπῆλθεν.
et posuit illud in monumento suo novo, quod exciderat in petra. Et advolvit saxum magnum ad ostium monumenti, et abiit.
ወቀበሮ ውስተ መቃብር ሐዲስ ዘሎቱ አውቀረ ውስተ ኰኵሕ ወአንኰርኰረ እብነ ዐቢየ ወአንበረ ውስተ አፈ መቃብር ወኀለፈ።
and laid it in his own new tomb, which he had cut out in the rock. Then he rolled a large stone against the door of the tomb, and departed.
27:61
ἦν δὲ ἐκεῖ Μαριὰμ ἡ Μαγδαληνὴ καὶ ἡ ἄλλη Μαρία, καθήμεναι ἀπέναντι τοῦ τάφου.
Erant autem ibi Maria Magdalene, et altera Maria, sedentes contra sepulchrum.
ወሀለዋ ህየ ማርያም መግደላዊት ወካልእታሂ ማርያም ይነብራ ቅድመ መቃብር።
Mary Magdalene was there, and the other Mary, sitting opposite the tomb.
27:62
Τῇ δὲ ἐπαύριον, ἥτις ἐστὶν μετὰ τὴν παρασκευήν, συνήχθησαν οἱ ἀρχιερεῖς καὶ οἱ Φαρισαῖοι πρὸς Πειλᾶτον
Altera autem die, quae est post Parasceven, convenerunt principes sacerdotum et pharisaei ad Pilatum,
ወበሳኒታ እንተ ይእቲ እምድኅረ ዐርብ ተጋብኡ ሊቃነ ካህናት ወፈሪሳውያን ኀበ ጲላጦስ።
Now on the next day, which was the day after the Preparation Day, the chief priests and the Pharisees were gathered together to Pilate,
27:63
λέγοντες· κύριε, ἐμνήσθημεν ὅτι ἐκεῖνος ὁ πλάνος εἶπεν ἔτι ζῶν, μετὰ τρεῖς ἡμέρας ἐγείρομαι.
dicentes : Domine, recordati sumus, quia seductor ille dixit adhuc vivens : Post tres dies resurgam.
ወይቤልዎ ተዘከርነ እግዚኦ ዘይቤ ዝኩ መስሐቲ አመ ሕያው ውእቱ አመ ሣልስት ዕለት እትነሣእ።
saying, “Sir, we remember what that deceiver said while he was still alive: ‘After three days I will rise again.’
27:64
κέλευσον οὖν ἀσφαλισθῆναι τὸν τάφον ἕως τῆς τρίτης ἡμέρας, μήποτε ἐλθόντες οἱ μαθηταὶ κλέψωσιν αὐτὸν καὶ εἴπωσιν τῷ λαῷ· ἠγέρθη ἀπὸ τῶν νεκρῶν, καὶ ἔσται ἡ ἐσχάτη πλάνη χείρων τῆς πρώτης.
Jube ergo custodiri sepulchrum usque in diem tertium : ne forte veniant discipuli ejus, et furentur eum, et dicant plebi : Surrexit a mortuis : et erit novissimus error pejor priore.
አዝዝ እንከ ይዕቀቡ መቃብሪሁ እስከ ሠሉስ መዋዕል ከመ ኢይምጽኡ አርዳኢሁ ሌሊተ ወኢይስርቅዎ ወኢይበሉ ለሕዝብ ተንሥአ እሙታን ወትከውን ደኃሪት ጌጋዩ እንተ ተአኪ እምቀዳሚት።
Command therefore that the tomb be made secure until the third day, lest perhaps his disciples come at night and steal him away, and tell the people, ‘He is risen from the dead;’ and the last deception will be worse than the first.”
27:65
ἔφη αὐτοῖς ὁ Πειλᾶτος· ἔχετε κουστωδίαν· ὑπάγετε ἀσφαλίσασθε ὡς οἴδατε.
Ait illis Pilatus : Habetis custodiam, ite, custodite sicut scitis.
ወይቤሎሙ ጲላጦስ ንሥኡ ሠገራተ ወሑሩ ወአጽንዑ መቃብሮ በከመ ተአምሩ።
Pilate said to them, “You have a guard. Go, make it as secure as you can.”
27:66
οἱ δὲ πορευθέντες ἠσφαλίσαντο τὸν τάφον, σφραγίσαντες τὸν λίθον μετὰ τῆς κουστωδίας.
Illi autem abeuntes, munierunt sepulchrum, signantes lapidem, cum custodibus.
ወሖሩ ወቀተሩ ወአጽንዑ መቃብሮ ወኀተምዋ ለይእቲ እብን ምስለ ሠገራት።
So they went with the guard and made the tomb secure, sealing the stone.
