26:1 ⧉ ⤴︎ Καὶ ἐγένετο ὅτε ἐτέλεσεν ὁ Ἰησοῦς πάντας τοὺς λόγους τούτους , εἶπεν τοῖς μαθηταῖς αὐτοῦ ·
Et factum est : cum consummasset Jesus sermones hos omnes , dixit discipulis suis :
ወኮነ እምዘ ፈጸመ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ዘንተ ኵሎ ነገረ ይቤሎሙ ለአርዳኢሁ ።
When Jesus had finished all these words, he said to his disciples,
26:2 ⧉ ⤴︎ οἴδατε ὅτι μετὰ δύο ἡμέρας τὸ πάσχα γίνεται , καὶ ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου παραδίδοται εἰς τὸ σταυρωθῆναι .
Scitis quia post biduum Pascha fiet , et Filius hominis tradetur ut crucifigatur .
ተአምሩሁ ከመ እምድኅረ ክልኤ መዋዕል ይከውን ፋሲካ ወይእኅዝዎ ለወልደ ዕጓለ እመሕያው ወይሰቅልዎ ።
“You know that after two days the Passover is coming, and the Son of Man will be delivered up to be crucified.”
26:3 ⧉ ⤴︎ Τότε συνήχθησαν οἱ ἀρχιερεῖς καὶ οἱ πρεσβύτεροι τοῦ λαοῦ εἰς τὴν αὐλὴν τοῦ ἀρχιερέως τοῦ λεγομένου Καϊάφα ,
Tunc congregati sunt principes sacerdotum , et seniores populi , in atrium principis sacerdotum , qui dicebatur Caiphas :
ወእምዝ ተጋብኡ ሊቃነ ካህናት ወጸሐፍት ወሊቃናተ ሕዝብ ውስተ ዐጸደ ሊቀ ካህናት ዘስሙ ቀያፋ ።
Then the chief priests, the scribes, and the elders of the people were gathered together in the court of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas.
26:4 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ συνεβουλεύσαντο ἵνα τὸν Ἰησοῦν δόλῳ κρατήσωσιν καὶ ἀποκτείνωσιν ·
et consilium fecerunt ut Jesum dolo tenerent , et occiderent .
ወተማከሩ ከመ በሕብል የአኀዝዎ ለእግዚእ ኢየሱስ ወይቅትልዎ ።
They took counsel together that they might take Jesus by deceit and kill him.
26:5 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἔλεγον δέ · μὴ ἐν τῇ ἑορτῇ , ἵνα μὴ θόρυβος γένηται ἐν τῷ λαῷ .
Dicebant autem : Non in die festo , ne forte tumultus fieret in populo .
ወይቤሉ ባሕቱ አኮኬ በበዓል ከመ ኢይኩን ሀከክ በውስተ ሕዝብ ።
But they said, “Not during the feast, lest a riot occur among the people.”
26:6 ⧉ ⤴︎ Τοῦ δὲ Ἰησοῦ γενομένου ἐν Βηθανίᾳ ἐν οἰκίᾳ Σίμωνος τοῦ λεπροῦ ,
Cum autem Jesus esset in Bethania in domo Simonis leprosi ,
ወበጺሖ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ቢታንያ ቦአ ቤተ ስምዖን ዘለምጽ ።
Now when Jesus was in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper,
26:7 ⧉ ⤴︎ προσῆλθεν αὐτῷ γυνὴ ἔχουσα ἀλάβαστρον μύρου πολυτίμου καὶ κατέχεεν ἐπὶ τῆς κεφαλῆς αὐτοῦ ἀνακειμένου .
accessit ad eum mulier habens alabastrum unguenti pretiosi , et effudit super caput ipsius recumbentis .
ወመጽአት ኀቤሁ ብእሲት እንተ ባቲ ቢረሌ ዘምሉእ ዕፍረተ ዘአልባስጥሮስ ዘብዙኅ ሤጡ ወሶጠት ዲበ ርእሱ ለእግዚእ ኢየሱስ እንዘ ይረፍቅ ።
a woman came to him having an alabaster jar of very expensive ointment, and she poured it on his head as he sat at the table.
26:8 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἰδόντες δὲ οἱ μαθηταὶ ἠγανάκτησαν λέγοντες · εἰς τί ἡ ἀπώλεια αὕτη ;
Videntes autem discipuli , indignati sunt , dicentes : Ut quid perditio haec ?
ወርእዮሙ ዘንተ አርዳኢሁ ተምዑ ወአንጐርጐሩ ወይቤሉ ለምንት ዘመጠነዝ ዕፍረተ አኅጐለት ዛቲ ብእሲት ።
But when his disciples saw this, they were indignant, saying, “Why this waste?
26:9 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἐδύνατο γὰρ τοῦτο πραθῆναι πολλοῦ καὶ δοθῆναι πτωχοῖς .
potuit enim istud venundari multo , et dari pauperibus .
እምኢተሠይጠኑ ለብዙኅ ንዋይ ወይትወሀብ ምጽዋተ ለነዳያን ።
For this ointment might have been sold for much and given to the poor.”
26:10 ⧉ ⤴︎ γνοὺς δὲ ὁ Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν αὐτοῖς · τί κόπους παρέχετε τῇ γυναικί ; ἔργον γὰρ καλὸν ἠργάσατο εἰς ἐμέ .
Sciens autem Jesus , ait illis : Quid molesti estis huic mulieri ? opus enim bonum operata est in me .
ወአእመሮሙ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ወይቤሎሙ ለምንት ታሰርሕዋ ለዛቲ ብእሲት ሠናየ ግብረ ገብረት ላዕሌየ ።
However, knowing this, Jesus said to them, “Why do you trouble the woman? She has done a good work for me.
26:11 ⧉ ⤴︎ πάντοτε γὰρ τοὺς πτωχοὺς ἔχετε μεθ’ ἑαυτῶν , ἐμὲ δὲ οὐ πάντοτε ἔχετε .
Nam semper pauperes habetis vobiscum : me autem non semper habetis .
ወለነዳያንሰ ዘልፈ ትረክብዎሙ ወጊዜ ፈቀድክሙ ታሤንዩ ሎሙ ወኪያየሰ አኮ ዘልፈ ዘትረክቡኒ ።
For you always have the poor with you, but you don’t always have me.
26:12 ⧉ ⤴︎ βαλοῦσα γὰρ αὕτη τὸ μύρον τοῦτο ἐπὶ τοῦ σώματός μου πρὸς τὸ ἐνταφιάσαι με ἐποίησεν .
Mittens enim haec unguentum hoc in corpus meum , ad sepeliendum me fecit .
ወዘንተሰ ዕፍረተ ዘሶጠት ዲበ ርእስየ ለቀበርየ ገብረት ።
For in pouring this ointment on my body, she did it to prepare me for burial.
26:13 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν , ὅπου ἐὰν κηρυχθῇ τὸ εὐαγγέλιον τοῦτο ἐν ὅλῳ τῷ κόσμῳ , λαληθήσεται καὶ ὃ ἐποίησεν αὕτη εἰς μνημόσυνον αὐτῆς .
Amen dico vobis , ubicumque praedicatum fuerit hoc Evangelium in toto mundo , dicetur et quod haec fecit in memoriam ejus .
አማን እብለክሙ በኀበ ተሰብከ ዝ ወንጌል በውስተ ኵሉ ዓለም ያንብቡ ላቲ ዘገብረት ዛቲ ብእሲት ወይዝክርዋ ።
Most certainly I tell you, wherever this Good News is preached in the whole world, what this woman has done will also be spoken of as a memorial of her.”
26:14 ⧉ ⤴︎ Τότε πορευθεὶς εἷς τῶν δώδεκα , ὁ λεγόμενος Ἰούδας Ἰσκαριώτης , πρὸς τοὺς ἀρχιερεῖς
Tunc abiit unus de duodecim , qui dicebatur Judas Iscariotes , ad principes sacerdotum :
ወእምዝ ሖረ አሐዱ እምዐሠርቱ ወክልኤቱ አርዳኢሁ ዘስሙ ይሁዳ አስቆሮታዊ ኀበ ሊቃነ ካህናት ።
Then one of the twelve, who was called Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests
26:15 ⧉ ⤴︎ εἶπεν · τί θέλετέ μοι δοῦναι , καὶ ἐγὼ ὑμῖν παραδώσω αὐτόν ; οἱ δὲ ἔστησαν αὐτῷ τριάκοντα ἀργύρια .
et ait illis : Quid vultis mihi dare , et ego vobis eum tradam ? At illi constituerunt ei triginta argenteos .
ወይቤሎሙ ሚ መጠነ ትሁቡኒ እመ አገብኦ ለክሙ ወተናገሩ ምስሌሁ ወተሰናአዉ የሀብዎ ሠላሳ ብሩረ ።
and said, “What are you willing to give me if I deliver him to you?” So they weighed out for him thirty pieces of silver.
26:16 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἀπὸ τότε ἐζήτει εὐκαιρίαν ἵνα αὐτὸν παραδῷ .
Et exinde quaerebat opportunitatem ut eum traderet .
ወእምይእቲ ዕለት ኮነ የኀሥሥ ሣኅተ ከመ ያግብኦ ሎሙ ።
From that time he sought opportunity to betray him.
26:17 ⧉ ⤴︎ Τῇ δὲ πρώτῃ τῶν ἀζύμων προσῆλθον οἱ μαθηταὶ τῷ Ἰησοῦ λέγοντες · ποῦ θέλεις ἑτοιμάσωμέν σοι φαγεῖν τὸ πάσχα ;
Prima autem die azymorum accesserunt discipuli ad Jesum , dicentes : Ubi vis paremus tibi comedere Pascha ?
ወበቀዳሚት ዕለተ ፍሥሕ ቀርቡ አርዳኢሁ ለእግዚእ ኢየሱስ ወይቤልዎ በአይቴ ትፈቅድ ናስተዳሉ ለከ ትብላዕ ፍሥሐ ።
Now on the first day of unleavened bread, the disciples came to Jesus, saying to him, “Where do you want us to prepare for you to eat the Passover?”
26:18 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὁ δὲ εἶπεν · ὑπάγετε εἰς τὴν πόλιν πρὸς τὸν δεῖνα καὶ εἴπατε αὐτῷ · ὁ διδάσκαλος λέγει · ὁ καιρός μου ἐγγύς ἐστιν , πρὸς σὲ ποιῶ τὸ πάσχα μετὰ τῶν μαθητῶν μου .
At Jesus dixit : Ite in civitatem ad quemdam , et dicite ei : Magister dicit : Tempus meum prope est , apud te facio Pascha cum discipulis meis .
ወይቤሎሙ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ሑሩ ውስተ ሀገር ኀበ እገሌ ወበልዎ ለበዓለ ውእቱ ቤት ይቤለከ ሊቅ ጊዜየ ቀርበ ወበኀቤከ እገብር ፋሲካ ምስለ አርዳእየ ።
He said, “Go into the city to a certain person, and tell him, ‘The Teacher says, “My time is at hand. I will keep the Passover at your house with my disciples.”’”
26:19 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἐποίησαν οἱ μαθηταὶ ὡς συνέταξεν αὐτοῖς ὁ Ἰησοῦς , καὶ ἡτοίμασαν τὸ πάσχα .
Et fecerunt discipuli sicut constituit illis Jesus , et paraverunt Pascha .
ወገብሩ አርዳኢሁ በከመ አዘዞሙ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ወአስተዳለዉ ፍሥሐ ።
The disciples did as Jesus commanded them, and they prepared the Passover.
26:20 ⧉ ⤴︎ Ὀψίας δὲ γενομένης ἀνέκειτο μετὰ τῶν δώδεκα μαθητῶν .
Vespere autem facto , discumbebat cum duodecim discipulis suis .
ወምሴተ ከዊኖ ረፈቀ ምስለ ዐሠርቱ ወክልኤቱ አርዳኢሁ ።
Now when evening had come, he was reclining at the table with the twelve disciples.
26:21 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἐσθιόντων αὐτῶν εἶπεν · ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν ὅτι εἷς ἐξ ὑμῶν παραδώσει με .
Et edentibus illis , dixit : Amen dico vobis , quia unus vestrum me traditurus est .
ወእንዘ ይበልዑ ይቤ አማን እብለክሙ ከመ አሐዱ እምኔክሙ ያገብአኒ ።
As they were eating, he said, “Most certainly I tell you that one of you will betray me.”
26:22 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ λυπούμενοι σφόδρα ἤρξαντο λέγειν αὐτῷ εἷς ἕκαστος · μήτι ἐγώ εἰμι , κύριε ;
Et contristati valde , coeperunt singuli dicere : Numquid ego sum Domine ?
ወተከዙ ጥቀ ወአኀዙ ይበልዎ በበ አሐዱ አነሁ እንጋ እግዚኦ ።
They were exceedingly sorrowful, and each began to ask him, “It isn’t me, is it, Lord?”
26:23 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὁ δὲ ἀποκριθεὶς εἶπεν · ὁ ἐμβάψας μετ’ ἐμοῦ τὴν χεῖρα ἐν τῷ τρυβλίῳ , οὗτός με παραδώσει .
At ipse respondens , ait : Qui intingit mecum manum in paropside , hic me tradet .
ወአውሥአ ወይቤሎሙ ዘያወርድ እዴሁ ምስሌየ ውስተ መጽብሕየ ውእቱ ያገብአኒ ።
He answered, “He who dipped his hand with me in the dish will betray me.
26:24 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὁ μὲν υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου ὑπάγει καθὼς γέγραπται περὶ αὐτοῦ . οὐαὶ δὲ τῷ ἀνθρώπῳ ἐκείνῳ δι’ οὗ ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου παραδίδοται · καλὸν ἦν αὐτῷ εἰ οὐκ ἐγεννήθη ὁ ἄνθρωπος ἐκεῖνος .
Filius quidem hominis vadit , sicut scriptum est de illo : vae autem homini illi , per quem Filius hominis tradetur ! bonum erat ei , si natus non fuisset homo ille .
ወወልደ ዕጓለ እመሕያውሰ የሐውር በከመ ተሠርዐ በእንቲኣሁ ፥ ወባሕቱ አሌ ሎቱ ለውእቱ ብእሲ ዘያገብኦ ለወልደ ዕጓለ እመሕያው እምኀየሶ ለውእቱ ብእሲ ሶበ ኢተወልደ ።
The Son of Man goes even as it is written of him, but woe to that man through whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would be better for that man if he had not been born.”
26:25 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἀποκριθεὶς δὲ Ἰούδας ὁ παραδιδοὺς αὐτὸν εἶπεν · μήτι ἐγώ εἰμι , ῥαββεί ; λέγει αὐτῷ · σὺ εἶπας .
Respondens autem Judas , qui tradidit eum , dixit : Numquid ego sum Rabbi ? Ait illi : Tu dixisti .
ወአውሥአ ይሁዳ ዘያገብኦ ወይቤ አነሁ እንጋ ረቢ ወይቤሎ ለሊከ ትቤ ።
Judas, who betrayed him, answered, “It isn’t me, is it, Rabbi?” He said to him, “You said it.”
26:26 ⧉ ⤴︎ Ἐσθιόντων δὲ αὐτῶν λαβὼν ὁ Ἰησοῦς ἄρτον καὶ εὐλογήσας ἔκλασεν καὶ δοὺς τοῖς μαθηταῖς εἶπεν · λάβετε φάγετε · τοῦτό ἐστιν τὸ σῶμά μου .
Coenantibus autem eis , accepit Jesus panem , et benedixit , ac fregit , deditque discipulis suis , et ait : Accipite , et comedite : hoc est corpus meum .
ወእንዘ ይበልዑ ነሥአ ኅብስተ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ወባረከ ወፈተተ ወወሀቦሙ ለአርዳኢሁ ወይቤሎሙ ሕንክሙ ብልዑ ዝ ውእቱ ሥጋየ ።
As they were eating, Jesus took bread, gave thanks for it, and broke it. He gave to the disciples and said, “Take, eat; this is my body.”
26:27 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ λαβὼν ποτήριον καὶ εὐχαριστήσας ἔδωκεν αὐτοῖς λέγων · πίετε ἐξ αὐτοῦ πάντες ·
Et accipiens calicem , gratias egit : et dedit illis , dicens : Bibite ex hoc omnes .
ወነሥአ ጽዋዐኒ ወአእኰተ ወወሀቦሙ እንዘ ይብል ስትዩ እምኔሁ ኵልክሙ ።
He took the cup, gave thanks, and gave to them, saying, “All of you drink it,
26:28 ⧉ ⤴︎ τοῦτο γάρ ἐστιν τὸ αἷμά μου τῆς διαθήκης τὸ περὶ πολλῶν ἐκχυννόμενον εἰς ἄφεσιν ἁμαρτιῶν .
Hic est enim sanguis meus novi testamenti , qui pro multis effundetur in remissionem peccatorum .
ዝ ውእቱ ደምየ ዘሐዲስ ሥርዐት ዘይትከዐው ለቤዛ ብዙኃን ወለኅድገተ ኀጢአት ።
for this is my blood of the new covenant, which is poured out for many for the remission of sins.
26:29 ⧉ ⤴︎ λέγω δὲ ὑμῖν , οὐ μὴ πίω ἀπ’ ἄρτι ἐκ τούτου τοῦ γενήματος τῆς ἀμπέλου ἕως τῆς ἡμέρας ἐκείνης ὅταν αὐτὸ πίνω μεθ’ ὑμῶν καινὸν ἐν τῇ βασιλείᾳ τοῦ πατρός μου .
Dico autem vobis : non bibam amodo de hoc genimine vitis usque in diem illum , cum illud bibam vobiscum novum in regno Patris mei .
ወናሁ እብለክሙ ኢይሰቲ እንከ እምዝንቱ አፂረ ፍሬ ወይን እስከ እንታክቲ ዕለት አመ አስትዮ ሐዲሰ ምስሌክሙ በመንግሥተ አቡየ ።
But I tell you that I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on, until that day when I drink it anew with you in my Father’s Kingdom.”
26:30 ⧉ ⤴︎ Καὶ ὑμνήσαντες ἐξῆλθον εἰς τὸ ὄρος τῶν ἐλαιῶν .
Et hymno dicto , exierunt in montem Oliveti .
ወሰቢሖሙ ወፅኡ ውስተ ደብረ ዘይት ።
When they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.
26:31 ⧉ ⤴︎ τότε λέγει αὐτοῖς ὁ Ἰησοῦς · πάντες ὑμεῖς σκανδαλισθήσεσθε ἐν ἐμοὶ ἐν τῇ νυκτὶ ταύτῃ , γέγραπται γάρ · πατάξω τὸν ποιμένα , καὶ διασκορπισθήσονται τὰ πρόβατα τῆς ποίμνης .
Tunc dicit illis Jesus : Omnes vos scandalum patiemini in me in ista nocte . Scriptum est enim : Percutiam pastorem , et dispergentur oves gregis .
ወእምዝ ይቤሎሙ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ኵልክሙ ተዐልዉኒ በዛቲ ሌሊት እስመ ይቤ መጽሐፍ እቀትሎ ለኖላዊ ወይዘረዉ አባግዐ መርዔቱ ።
Then Jesus said to them, “All of you will be made to stumble because of me tonight, for it is written, ‘I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.’
26:32 ⧉ ⤴︎ μετὰ δὲ τὸ ἐγερθῆναί με προάξω ὑμᾶς εἰς τὴν Γαλιλαίαν .
Postquam autem resurrexero , praecedam vos in Galilaeam .
ወእምከመ ተንሣእኩ እቀድመክሙ ገሊላ ።
But after I am raised up, I will go before you into Galilee.”
26:33 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἀποκριθεὶς δὲ ὁ Πέτρος εἶπεν αὐτῷ · εἰ πάντες σκανδαλισθήσονται ἐν σοί , ἐγὼ οὐδέποτε σκανδαλισθήσομαι .
Respondens autem Petrus , ait illi : Et si omnes scandalizati fuerint in te , ego numquam scandalizabor .
ወአውሥአ ጴጥሮስ ወይቤሎ እመሂ ኵሎሙ ዐለዉከ አንሰ ኢየዐልወከ ግሙራ ።
But Peter answered him, “Even if all will be made to stumble because of you, I will never be made to stumble.”
26:34 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἔφη αὐτῷ ὁ Ἰησοῦς · ἀμὴν λέγω σοι ὅτι ἐν ταύτῃ τῇ νυκτὶ πρὶν ἀλέκτορα φωνῆσαι τρὶς ἀπαρνήσῃ με .
Ait illi Jesus : Amen dico tibi , quia in hac nocte , antequam gallus cantet , ter me negabis .
ወይቤሎ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ አማን እብለከ ከመ በዛቲ ሌሊት ሥልሰ ትክሕደኒ ዘእንበለ ይንቁ ዶርሆ ።
Jesus said to him, “Most certainly I tell you that tonight, before the rooster crows, you will deny me three times.”
26:35 ⧉ ⤴︎ λέγει αὐτῷ ὁ Πέτρος · κἂν δέῃ με σὺν σοὶ ἀποθανεῖν , οὐ μή σε ἀπαρνήσομαι . ὁμοίως καὶ πάντες οἱ μαθηταὶ εἶπον .
Ait illi Petrus : Etiamsi oportuerit me mori tecum , non te negabo . Similiter et omnes discipuli dixerunt .
ወይቤሎ ጴጥሮስ እመውትሂ ምስሌከ ወኢይክሕደከ ወከማሁ ይቤሉ ኵሎሙ አርዳኢሁ ።
Peter said to him, “Even if I must die with you, I will not deny you.” All of the disciples also said likewise.
26:36 ⧉ ⤴︎ Τότε ἔρχεται μετ’ αὐτῶν ὁ Ἰησοῦς εἰς χωρίον λεγόμενον Γεθσημανεί , καὶ λέγει τοῖς μαθηταῖς , καθίσατε αὐτοῦ ἕως οὗ ἀπελθὼν ἐκεῖ προσεύξωμαι .
Tunc venit Jesus cum illis in villam , quae dicitur Gethsemani , et dixit discipulis suis : Sedete hic donec vadam illuc , et orem .
ወእምዝ ሖረ ምስሌሆሙ ውስተ ዐጸደ ወይን ዘስሙ ጌቴሴማን ወይቤሎሙ ለአርዳኢሁ ንበሩ ዝየ እስከ ሶበ አሐውር ከሃ ወእጼሊ ።
Then Jesus came with them to a place called Gethsemane, and said to his disciples, “Sit here, while I go there and pray.”
26:37 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ παραλαβὼν τὸν Πέτρον καὶ τοὺς δύο υἱοὺς Ζεβεδαίου ἤρξατο λυπεῖσθαι καὶ ἀδημονεῖν .
Et assumpto Petro , et duobus filiis Zebedaei , coepit contristari et moestus esse .
ወነሥኦሙ ለጴጥሮስ ወለክልኤቱ ደቂቀ ዘብዴዎስ ወአኀዘ ይተክዝ ወይኅዝን ።
He took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and severely troubled.
26:38 ⧉ ⤴︎ τότε λέγει αὐτοῖς · περίλυπός ἐστιν ἡ ψυχή μου ἕως θανάτου · μείνατε ὧδε καὶ γρηγορεῖτε μετ’ ἐμοῦ .
Tunc ait illis : Tristis est anima mea usque ad mortem : sustinete hic , et vigilate mecum .
ወእምዝ ይቤሎሙ ተከዘት ነፍስየ እስከ ለሞት ንበሩ ዝየ ወትግሁ ምስሌየ ፤
Then Jesus said to them, “My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and watch with me.”
26:39 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ προσελθὼν μικρὸν ἔπεσεν ἐπὶ πρόσωπον αὐτοῦ προσευχόμενος καὶ λέγων · πάτερ , εἰ δυνατόν ἐστιν , παρελθάτω ἀπ’ ἐμοῦ τὸ ποτήριον τοῦτο · πλὴν οὐχ ὡς ἐγὼ θέλω ἀλλ’ ὡς σύ .
Et progressus pusillum , procidit in faciem suam , orans , et dicens : Pater mi , si possibile est , transeat a me calix iste : verumtamen non sicut ego volo , sed sicut tu .
ወተአተተ ሕቀ እምኔሆሙ ወሰገደ በገጹ ወጸለየ ወይቤ አቡየ እመሰ ይትከሀል ይኅልፍ እምኔየ ዝንቱ ጽዋዕ ወባሕቱ ፈቃደ ዚኣከ ይኩን ወአኮ ፈቃደ ዚኣየ ።
He went forward a little, fell on his face, and prayed, saying, “My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass away from me; nevertheless, not what I desire, but what you desire.”
26:40 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἔρχεται πρὸς τοὺς μαθητὰς καὶ εὑρίσκει αὐτοὺς καθεύδοντας , καὶ λέγει τῷ Πέτρῳ · οὕτως οὐκ ἰσχύσατε μίαν ὥραν γρηγορῆσαι μετ’ ἐμοῦ ;
Et venit ad discipulos suos , et invenit eos dormientes , et dicit Petro : Sic non potuistis una hora vigilare mecum ?
ወሖረ ኀበ አርዳኢሁ ወረከቦሙ እንዘ ይነውሙ ወይቤሎ ለጴጥሮስ ከመዝኑ ስእንክሙ ተጊሀ አሐተ ሰዓተ ምስሌየ ።
He came to the disciples and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, “What, couldn’t you watch with me for one hour?
26:41 ⧉ ⤴︎ γρηγορεῖτε καὶ προσεύχεσθε , ἵνα μὴ εἰσέλθητε εἰς πειρασμόν · τὸ μὲν πνεῦμα πρόθυμον , ἡ δὲ σὰρξ ἀσθενής .
Vigilate , et orate ut non intretis in tentationem . Spiritus quidem promptus est , caro autem infirma .
ትግሁ ፥ ወጸልዩ ፥ ከመ ኢትባኡ ውስተ መንሱት እስመ መንፈስ ይፈቱ ፥ ወሥጋ ይደክም ።
Watch and pray, that you don’t enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”
26:42 ⧉ ⤴︎ πάλιν ἐκ δευτέρου ἀπελθὼν προσηύξατο λέγων · πάτερ μου , εἰ οὐ δύναται τοῦτο παρελθεῖν ἐὰν μὴ αὐτὸ πίω , γενηθήτω τὸ θέλημά σου .
Iterum secundo abiit , et oravit , dicens : Pater mi , si non potest hic calix transire nisi bibam illum , fiat voluntas tua .
ወካዕበ ሖረ ወጸለየ ወይቤ ኦ አቡየ እመ ይትከሀል ዝንቱ ጽዋዕ ይኅልፍ ዘእንበለ እስተዮ ወባሕቱ ይኩን ፈቃድከ ።
Again, a second time he went away and prayed, saying, “My Father, if this cup can’t pass away from me unless I drink it, your desire be done.”
26:43 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἐλθὼν πάλιν εὗρεν αὐτοὺς καθεύδοντας · ἦσαν γὰρ αὐτῶν οἱ ὀφθαλμοὶ βεβαρημένοι .
Et venit iterum , et invenit eos dormientes : erant enim oculi eorum gravati .
ወገብአ ካዕበ ኀበ አርዳኢሁ ወረከቦሙ እንዘ ይነውሙ እስመ ከብዳ አዕይንቲሆሙ በድቃስ ።
He came again and found them sleeping, for their eyes were heavy.
26:44 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἀφεὶς αὐτοὺς πάλιν ἀπελθὼν προσηύξατο ἐκ τρίτου , τὸν αὐτὸν λόγον εἰπὼν πάλιν .
Et relictis illis , iterum abiit , et oravit tertio , eumdem sermonem dicens .
ወኀደጎሙ ወሖረ ካዕበ በሣልስ ወጸለየ ኪያሁ ክመ ቃለ እንዘ ይብል ።
He left them again, went away, and prayed a third time, saying the same words.
26:45 ⧉ ⤴︎ τότε ἔρχεται πρὸς τοὺς μαθητὰς καὶ λέγει αὐτοῖς · καθεύδετε τὸ λοιπὸν καὶ ἀναπαύεσθε . ἰδοὺ ἤγγικεν ἡ ὥρα καὶ ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου παραδίδοται εἰς χεῖρας ἁμαρτωλῶν .
Tunc venit ad discipulos suos , et dicit illis : Dormite jam , et requiescite : ecce appropinquavit hora , et Filius hominis tradetur in manus peccatorum .
ወገብአ ካዕበ ኀበ አርዳኢሁ ወይቤሎሙ ኑሙ እንከሰ ወአዕርፉ ናሁ በጽሐ ጊዜሁ ወያገብእዎ ለወልደ ዕጓለ እመሕያው ውስተ እደ ኃጥኣን ።
Then he came to his disciples and said to them, “Are you still sleeping and resting? Behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.
26:46 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἐγείρεσθε , ἄγωμεν · ἰδοὺ ἤγγικεν ὁ παραδιδούς με .
Surgite , eamus : ecce appropinquavit qui me tradet .
ተንሥኡ ፥ ንሑር ናሁ ቀርበ ዘያገብአኒ ።
Arise, let’s be going. Behold, he who betrays me is at hand.”
26:47 ⧉ ⤴︎ Καὶ ἔτι αὐτοῦ λαλοῦντος ἰδοὺ Ἰούδας εἷς τῶν δώδεκα ἦλθεν καὶ μετ’ αὐτοῦ ὄχλος πολὺς μετὰ μαχαιρῶν καὶ ξύλων ἀπὸ τῶν ἀρχιερέων καὶ πρεσβυτέρων τοῦ λαοῦ .
Adhuc eo loquente , ecce Judas unus de duodecim venit , et cum eo turba multa cum gladiis et fustibus , missi a principibus sacerdotum , et senioribus populi .
ወእንዘ ዘንተ ይትናገር ናሁ በጽሐ ይሁዳ እምዐሠርቱ ወክልኤቱ አርዳኢሁ ወምስሌሁ መጽኡ ብዙኃን ሰብእ ምስለ መጣብሕ ወዕፀው እምኀቤሆሙ ለሊቃነ ካህናት ወሊቃናተ ሕዝብ ።
While he was still speaking, behold, Judas, one of the twelve, came, and with him a great multitude with swords and clubs, from the chief priests and elders of the people.
26:48 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὁ δὲ παραδιδοὺς αὐτὸν ἔδωκεν αὐτοῖς σημεῖον λέγων · ὃν ἐὰν φιλήσω αὐτός ἐστιν · κρατήσατε αὐτόν .
Qui autem tradidit eum , dedit illis signum , dicens : Quemcumque osculatus fuero , ipse est , tenete eum .
ወዘያገብኦ ወሀቦሙ ትእምርተ እንዘ ይብል ዘእስዕሞ ውእቱ ኪያሁ አኀዙ ።
Now he who betrayed him had given them a sign, saying, “Whoever I kiss, he is the one. Seize him.”
26:49 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ εὐθέως προσελθὼν τῷ Ἰησοῦ εἶπεν · χαῖρε , ῥαββεί · καὶ κατεφίλησεν αὐτόν .
Et confestim accedens ad Jesum , dixit : Ave Rabbi . Et osculatus est eum .
ወቀርበ ይእተ ጊዜ ይሁዳ ኀበ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ወሰዐሞ ወይቤሎ በሓ ረቢ ።
Immediately he came to Jesus, and said, “Greetings, Rabbi!” and kissed him.
26:50 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὁ δὲ Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν αὐτῷ , ἑταῖρε , ἐφ’ ὃ πάρει . τότε προσελθόντες ἐπέβαλον τὰς χεῖρας ἐπὶ τὸν Ἰησοῦν καὶ ἐκράτησαν αὐτόν .
Dixitque illi Jesus : Amice , ad quid venisti ? Tunc accesserunt , et manus injecerunt in Jesum , et tenuerunt eum .
ወይቤሎ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ በእንተዝኑ መጻእከ ካልእየ ወእምዝ ቀርቡ ወአንሥኡ እደዊሆሙ ወአኀዝዎ ለእግዚእ ኢየሱስ ።
Jesus said to him, “Friend, why are you here?” Then they came and laid hands on Jesus, and took him.
26:51 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἰδοὺ εἷς τῶν μετὰ Ἰησοῦ ἐκτείνας τὴν χεῖρα ἀπέσπασεν τὴν μάχαιραν αὐτοῦ καὶ πατάξας τὸν δοῦλον τοῦ ἀρχιερέως ἀφεῖλεν αὐτοῦ τὸ ὠτίον .
Et ecce unus ex his qui erant cum Jesu , extendens manum , exemit gladium suum , et percutiens servum principis sacerdotum amputavit auriculam ejus .
ወናሁ አሐዱ እምእለ ምስሌሁ ለእግዚእ ኢየሱስ ሰፍሐ እዴሁ ወመልሐ መጥባሕቶ ወዘበጦ ለገብረ ሊቀ ካህናት ወመተሮ እዝኖ ዘየማን ።
Behold, one of those who were with Jesus stretched out his hand and drew his sword, and struck the servant of the high priest, and cut off his ear.
26:52 ⧉ ⤴︎ τότε λέγει αὐτῷ ὁ Ἰησοῦς · ἀπόστρεψον τὴν μάχαιράν σου εἰς τὸν τόπον αὐτῆς · πάντες γὰρ οἱ λαβόντες μάχαιραν ἐν μαχαίρῃ ἀπολοῦνται .
Tunc ait illi Jesus : Converte gladium tuum in locum suum : omnes enim , qui acceperint gladium , gladio peribunt .
ወይቤሎ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ አግብኣ ለመጥባሕትከ ውስተ ቤታ እስመ ኵሎሙ እለ መጥባሕተ ያነሥኡ በመጥባሕት ይመውቱ ።
Then Jesus said to him, “Put your sword back into its place, for all those who take the sword will die by the sword.
26:53 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἢ δοκεῖς ὅτι οὐ δύναμαι παρακαλέσαι τὸν πατέρα μου , καὶ παραστήσει μοι ἄρτι πλείω δώδεκα λεγιώνων ἀγγέλων ;
An putas , quia non possum rogare patrem meum , et exhibebit mihi modo plusquam duodecim legiones angelorum ?
ይመስለከኑ ዘኢይክል አስተብቍዖቶ ለአቡየ ይፈኑ ሊተ ዘይበዝኁ እምዐሠርቱ ወክልኤቱ ሠራዊተ መላእክት ።
Or do you think that I couldn’t ask my Father, and he would even now send me more than twelve legions of angels?
26:54 ⧉ ⤴︎ πῶς οὖν πληρωθῶσιν αἱ γραφαὶ , ὅτι οὕτως δεῖ γενέσθαι ;
Quomodo ergo implebuntur Scripturae , quia sic oportet fieri ?
ወእፎ እንከ ይትፌጸም ቃለ መጽሐፍ ዘይቤ እስመ ከመ ዝ ሀለዎ ይኩን ።
How then would the Scriptures be fulfilled that it must be so?”
26:55 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἐν ἐκείνῃ τῇ ὥρᾳ εἶπεν ὁ Ἰησοῦς τοῖς ὄχλοις · ὡς ἐπὶ λῃστὴν ἐξήλθατε μετὰ μαχαιρῶν καὶ ξύλων συλλαβεῖν με · καθ’ ἡμέραν ἐν τῷ ἱερῷ ἐκαθεζόμην διδάσκων καὶ οὐκ ἐκρατήσατέ με .
In illa hora dixit Jesus turbis : Tamquam ad latronem existis cum gladiis et fustibus comprehendere me : quotidie apud vos sedebam docens in templo , et non me tenuistis .
ወይቤሎሙ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ለሕዝብ ሶቤሃ ከመ ሰራቂኑ መጻእክሙ ትዴግኑኒ ወተአኀዙኒ በዕፀው ወበመጣብሕ ወዘልፈ እነብር ምስሌክሙ በምኵራብ ወእሜህር ወኢአኀዝክሙኒ ።
In that hour Jesus said to the multitudes, “Have you come out as against a robber with swords and clubs to seize me? I sat daily in the temple teaching, and you didn’t arrest me.
26:56 ⧉ ⤴︎ τοῦτο δὲ ὅλον γέγονεν ἵνα πληρωθῶσιν αἱ γραφαὶ τῶν προφητῶν . τότε οἱ μαθηταὶ πάντες ἀφέντες αὐτὸν ἔφυγον .
Hoc autem totum factum est , ut adimplerentur Scripturae prophetarum . Tunc discipuli omnes , relicto eo , fugerunt .
ወዝ ኵሉ ዘኮነ ከመ ይብጻሕ ቃለ ነቢያት ወእምዝ ኵሎሙ አርዳኢሁ ኀደግዎ ወጐዩ ።
But all this has happened that the Scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled.” Then all the disciples left him and fled.
26:57 ⧉ ⤴︎ Οἱ δὲ κρατήσαντες τὸν Ἰησοῦν ἀπήγαγον πρὸς Καϊάφαν τὸν ἀρχιερέα , ὅπου οἱ γραμματεῖς καὶ οἱ πρεσβύτεροι συνήχθησαν .
At illi tenentes Jesum , duxerunt ad Caipham principem sacerdotum , ubi scribae et seniores convenerant .
ወእለሰ አኀዝዎ ለእግዚእ ኢየሱስ ወሰድዎ ኀበ ቀያፋ ሊቀ ካህናት ወኀበ ተጋብኡ ጸሐፍት ወሊቃናት ።
Those who had taken Jesus led him away to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were gathered together.
26:58 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὁ δὲ Πέτρος ἠκολούθει αὐτῷ μακρόθεν ἕως τῆς αὐλῆς τοῦ ἀρχιερέως , καὶ εἰσελθὼν ἔσω ἐκάθητο μετὰ τῶν ὑπηρετῶν ἰδεῖν τὸ τέλος .
Petrus autem sequebatur eum a longe , usque in atrium principis sacerdotum . Et ingressus intro , sedebat cum ministris , ut videret finem .
ወተለዎ ጴጥሮስ እምርኁቅ እስከ ዐጸደ ሊቀ ካህናት ወቦአ ውስጠ ወነበረ ምስለ ወዐልት ይርአይ ማኅለቅቶ ለነገር ።
But Peter followed him from a distance to the court of the high priest, and entered in and sat with the officers, to see the end.
26:59 ⧉ ⤴︎ Οἱ δὲ ἀρχιερεῖς καὶ τὸ συνέδριον ὅλον ἐζήτουν ψευδομαρτυρίαν κατὰ τοῦ Ἰησοῦ , ὅπως αὐτὸν θανατώσουσιν ,
Principes autem sacerdotum , et omne concilium , quaerebant falsum testimonium contra Jesum , ut eum morti traderent :
ወየኀሥሡ ሊቃነ ካህናት ወጸሐፍት ወሊቃናት ወኵሉ ዐውድ ሰማዕተ ሐሰት በዘይቀትልዎ ለእግዚእ ኢየሱስ ወኢረከቡ ሎቱ ጌጋየ ።
Now the chief priests, the elders, and the whole council sought false testimony against Jesus, that they might put him to death,
26:60 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ οὐχ εὗρον πολλῶν προσελθόντων ψευδομαρτύρων . ὕστερον δὲ προσελθόντες δύο
et non invenerunt , cum multi falsi testes accessissent . Novissime autem venerunt duo falsi testes ,
ወመጽኡ ብዙኃን ሰማዕተ ሐሰት ወስእኑ ወድኅረ መጽኡ ክልኤቱ ።
and they found none. Even though many false witnesses came forward, they found none. But at last two false witnesses came forward
26:61 ⧉ ⤴︎ εἶπον · οὗτος ἔφη · δύναμαι καταλῦσαι τὸν ναὸν τοῦ θεοῦ καὶ διὰ τριῶν ἡμερῶν αὐτὸν οἰκοδομῆσαι .
et dixerunt : Hic dixit : Possum destruere templum Dei , et post triduum reaedificare illud .
ወይቤሉ ይቤ ዝንቱ እክል ነሢቶቶ ለቤተ እግዚአብሔር ወበሣልስት ዕለት አሐንጾ ።
and said, “This man said, ‘I am able to destroy the temple of God, and to build it in three days.’”
26:62 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἀναστὰς ὁ ἀρχιερεὺς εἶπεν αὐτῷ · οὐδὲν ἀποκρίνῃ ; τί οὗτοί σου καταμαρτυροῦσιν ;
Et surgens princeps sacerdotum , ait illi : Nihil respondes ad ea , quae isti adversum te testificantur ?
ወተንሥአ ሊቀ ካህናት ወይቤሎ ኢትሰምዕኑ ፥ እንዘ መጠነዝ ያስተዋድዩከ ።
The high priest stood up and said to him, “Have you no answer? What is this that these testify against you?”
26:63 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὁ δὲ Ἰησοῦς ἐσιώπα . καὶ ἀποκριθεὶς ὁ ἀρχιερεὺς εἶπεν αὐτῷ · ἐξορκίζω σε κατὰ τοῦ θεοῦ τοῦ ζῶντος , ἵνα ἡμῖν εἴπῃς εἰ σὺ εἶ ὁ Χριστὸς ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ θεοῦ .
Jesus autem tacebat . Et princeps sacerdotum ait illi : Adjuro te per Deum vivum , ut dicas nobis si tu es Christus Filius Dei .
ወኢያውሥኦ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ወይቤሎ ሊቀ ካህናት አምሐልኩከ በእግዚአብሔር ሕያው ከመ ትንግረኒ እመ አንተሁ ክርስቶስ ወልዱ ለእግዚአብሔር ።
But Jesus stayed silent. The high priest answered him, “I adjure you by the living God that you tell us whether you are the Christ, the Son of God.”
26:64 ⧉ ⤴︎ λέγει αὐτῷ ὁ Ἰησοῦς · σὺ εἶπας · πλὴν λέγω ὑμῖν , ἀπ’ ἄρτι ὄψεσθε τὸν υἱὸν τοῦ ἀνθρώπου καθήμενον ἐκ δεξιῶν τῆς δυνάμεως καὶ ἐρχόμενον ἐπὶ τῶν νεφελῶν τοῦ οὐρανοῦ .
Dicit illi Jesus : Tu dixisti . Verumtamen dico vobis , amodo videbitis Filium hominis sedentem a dextris virtutis Dei , et venientem in nubibus caeli .
ወይቤሎ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ አንተ ትቤ ወባሕቱ እብለክሙ እምይእዜሰ ትሬእይዎ ለወልደ ዕጓለ እመሕያው እንዘ ይነብር በየማነ ኀይል ወእንዘ ይመጽእ በደመና ሰማይ ።
Jesus said to him, “You have said so. Nevertheless, I tell you, after this you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of Power, and coming on the clouds of the sky.”
26:65 ⧉ ⤴︎ τότε ὁ ἀρχιερεὺς διέρρηξεν τὰ ἱμάτια αὐτοῦ λέγων · ἐβλασφήμησεν · τί ἔτι χρείαν ἔχομεν μαρτύρων ; ἴδε νῦν ἠκούσατε τὴν βλασφημίαν .
Tunc princeps sacerdotum scidit vestimenta sua , dicens : Blasphemavit : quid adhuc egemus testibus ? ecce nunc audistis blasphemiam :
ወሶቤሃ ሠጠጠ አልባሲሁ ሊቀ ክህናት እንዘ ይብል ምንተ እንከ ትፈቅዱ ሎቱ ሰማዕተ ናሁ ፀረፈ ወሰማዕክሙ ጽርፈቶ ምንተ እንከ ትብሉ ፤
Then the high priest tore his clothing, saying, “He has spoken blasphemy! Why do we need any more witnesses? Behold, now you have heard his blasphemy.
26:66 ⧉ ⤴︎ τί ὑμῖν δοκεῖ ; οἱ δὲ ἀποκριθέντες εἶπον · ἔνοχος θανάτου ἐστίν .
quid vobis videtur ? At illi respondentes dixerunt : Reus est mortis .
ወአውሥኡ ወይቤሉ ዝንቱ ድልው ለሞት ።
What do you think?” They answered, “He is worthy of death!”
26:67 ⧉ ⤴︎ Τότε ἐνέπτυσαν εἰς τὸ πρόσωπον αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐκολάφισαν αὐτόν , οἱ δὲ ἐράπισαν
Tunc exspuerunt in faciem ejus , et colaphis eum ceciderunt , alii autem palmas in faciem ejus dederunt ,
ወእምዝ ወረቁ ውስተ ገጹ ወኰርዕዎ ርእሶ በኅለት ወጸፍዕዎ እንዘ ይብሉ ።
Then they spat in his face and beat him with their fists, and some slapped him,
26:68 ⧉ ⤴︎ λέγοντες · προφήτευσον ἡμῖν , Χριστέ , τίς ἐστιν ὁ παίσας σε ;
dicentes : Prophetiza nobis Christe , quis est qui te percussit ?
ተነበይ ለነ ክርስቶስ መኑ ውእቱ ዘጸፍዐከ ።
saying, “Prophesy to us, you Christ! Who hit you?”
26:69 ⧉ ⤴︎ Ὁ δὲ Πέτρος ἐκάθητο ἔξω ἐν τῇ αὐλῇ · καὶ προσῆλθεν αὐτῷ μία παιδίσκη λέγουσα · καὶ σὺ ἦσθα μετὰ Ἰησοῦ τοῦ Γαλιλαίου .
Petrus vero sedebat foris in atrio : et accessit ad eum una ancilla , dicens : Et tu cum Jesu Galilaeo eras .
ወጴጥሮስሰ ይነብር አፍኣ ውስተ ዐጸድ ወመጽአት አሐቲ ወለት ወትቤሎ አንተሂ ምስለ ኢየሱስ ገሊላዊ ሀለውከ ።
Now Peter was sitting outside in the court, and a maid came to him, saying, “You were also with Jesus, the Galilean!”
26:70 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὁ δὲ ἠρνήσατο ἔμπροσθεν πάντων λέγων · οὐκ οἶδα τί λέγεις .
At ille negavit coram omnibus , dicens : Nescio quid dicis .
ወክሕደ በቅድመ ኵሉ እንዘ ይብል ኢየአምሮ ለዘትብሊ ።
But he denied it before them all, saying, “I don’t know what you are talking about.”
26:71 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἐξελθόντα δὲ αὐτὸν εἰς τὸν πυλῶνα , εἶδεν αὐτὸν ἄλλη καὶ λέγει τοῖς ἐκεῖ · οὗτος ἦν μετὰ Ἰησοῦ τοῦ Ναζωραίου .
Exeunte autem illo januam , vidit eum alia ancilla , et ait his qui erant ibi : Et hic erat cum Jesu Nazareno .
ወወፂኦ ኆኅተ ርእየቶ ካልእት ወትቤሎሙ ለእለ ይቀውሙ ህየ ዝኒ ሀሎ ምስለ ኢየሱስ ናዝራዊ ።
When he had gone out onto the porch, someone else saw him and said to those who were there, “This man also was with Jesus of Nazareth.”
26:72 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ πάλιν ἠρνήσατο μετὰ ὅρκου ὅτι οὐκ οἶδα τὸν ἄνθρωπον .
Et iterum negavit cum juramento : Quia non novi hominem .
ወክሕደ ካዕበ ወመሐለ ከመ ኢየአምሮ ለውእቱ ብእሲ ።
Again he denied it with an oath, “I don’t know the man.”
26:73 ⧉ ⤴︎ μετὰ μικρὸν δὲ προσελθόντες οἱ ἑστῶτες εἶπον τῷ Πέτρῳ , ἀληθῶς καὶ σὺ ἐξ αὐτῶν εἶ · καὶ γὰρ ἡ λαλιά σου δῆλόν σε ποιεῖ .
Et post pusillum accesserunt qui stabant , et dixerunt Petro : Vere et tu ex illis es : nam et loquela tua manifestum te facit .
ወጐንድዮ ሕቀ መጽኡ እለ ይቀውሙ ወይቤልዎ ለጴጥሮስ አማን አንተሂ እምኔሆሙ አንተ ወነገርከ ያዐውቀከ ።
After a little while those who stood by came and said to Peter, “Surely you are also one of them, for your speech makes you known.”
26:74 ⧉ ⤴︎ τότε ἤρξατο καταθεματίζειν καὶ ὀμνύειν ὅτι οὐκ οἶδα τὸν ἄνθρωπον · καὶ εὐθέως ἀλέκτωρ ἐφώνησεν .
Tunc coepit detestari et jurare quia non novisset hominem . Et continuo gallus cantavit .
ወሶቤሃ መሐለ ወተረግመ ከመ ኢየአምሮ ለውእቱ ብእሲ ወበጊዜሃ ነቀወ ዶርሆ ።
Then he began to curse and to swear, “I don’t know the man!” Immediately the rooster crowed.
26:75 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἐμνήσθη ὁ Πέτρος τοῦ ῥήματος Ἰησοῦ εἰρηκότος ὅτι πρὶν ἀλέκτορα φωνῆσαι τρὶς ἀπαρνήσῃ με · καὶ ἐξελθὼν ἔξω ἔκλαυσεν πικρῶς .
Et recordatus est Petrus verbi Jesu , quod dixerat : Priusquam gallus cantet , ter me negabis . Et egressus foras , flevit amare .
ወተዘከረ ጴጥሮስ ቃሎ ለእግዚእ ኢየሱስ ዘይቤሎ ሥልሰ ትክሕደኒ ዘእንበለ ይንቁ ዶርሆ ወወፅአ አፍኣ ወበከየ ብካየ መሪረ ።
Peter remembered the word which Jesus had said to him, “Before the rooster crows, you will deny me three times.” Then he went out and wept bitterly.
