22:1 ⧉ ⤴︎ Καὶ ἀποκριθεὶς ὁ Ἰησοῦς πάλιν εἶπεν ἐν παραβολαῖς αὐτοῖς , λέγων ·
Et respondens Jesus , dixit iterum in parabolis eis , dicens :
ወአውሥአ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ዳግመ ወተናገረ በምሳሌ እንዘ ይብል ።
Jesus answered and spoke to them again in parables, saying,
22:2 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὡμοιώθη ἡ βασιλεία τῶν οὐρανῶν ἀνθρώπῳ βασιλεῖ , ὅστις ἐποίησεν γάμους τῷ υἱῷ αὐτοῦ .
Simile factum est regnum caelorum homini regi , qui fecit nuptias filio suo .
ትመስል መንግሥተ ሰማያት ብእሴ ንጉሠ ዘገብረ ከብካበ ለወልዱ ።
“The Kingdom of Heaven is like a certain king, who made a wedding feast for his son,
22:3 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἀπέστειλεν τοὺς δούλους αὐτοῦ καλέσαι τοὺς κεκλημένους εἰς τοὺς γάμους , καὶ οὐκ ἤθελον ἐλθεῖν .
Et misit servos suos vocare invitatos ad nuptias , et nolebant venire .
ወፈነወ አግብርቲሁ ይጸውዕዎሙ ለእለ ተዐሠሩ ውስተ ከብካብ ወአበዩ መጺአ ።
and sent out his servants to call those who were invited to the wedding feast, but they would not come.
22:4 ⧉ ⤴︎ πάλιν ἀπέστειλεν ἄλλους δούλους λέγων · εἴπατε τοῖς κεκλημένοις · ἰδοὺ τὸ ἄριστόν μου ἡτοίμακα , οἱ ταῦροί μου καὶ τὰ σιτιστὰ τεθυμένα , καὶ πάντα ἕτοιμα · δεῦτε εἰς τοὺς γάμους .
Iterum misit alios servos , dicens : Dicite invitatis : Ecce prandium meum paravi , tauri mei et altilia occisa sunt , et omnia parata : venite ad nuptias .
ወዳግመ ፈነወ ካልኣነ አግብርተ እንዘ ይብል በልዎሙ ለእለ ዐሠርናሆሙ ናሁ ምሳሕየ አስተዳሎኩ ወጠባሕኩ መጋዝእትየ ወአስዋርየ ወኵሉ ድልው ንዑ ውስተ ከብካብየ ።
Again he sent out other servants, saying, ‘Tell those who are invited, “Behold, I have prepared my dinner. My cattle and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready. Come to the wedding feast!”’
22:5 ⧉ ⤴︎ οἱ δὲ ἀμελήσαντες ἀπῆλθον , ὃς μὲν εἰς τὸν ἴδιον ἀγρόν , ὃς δὲ ἐπὶ τὴν ἐμπορίαν αὐτοῦ ·
Illi autem neglexerunt : et abierunt , alius in villam suam , alius vero ad negotiationem suam :
ወእሙንቱሰ ተሀየዩ ወኀለፉ ቦ ዘሖረ ውስተ ገራህቱ ወቦ ዘሖረ ውስተ ንግዱ ወቦ ዘሖረ ውስተ ዐጸደ ወይኑ ።
But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his own farm, another to his merchandise;
22:6 ⧉ ⤴︎ οἱ δὲ λοιποὶ κρατήσαντες τοὺς δούλους αὐτοῦ ὕβρισαν καὶ ἀπέκτειναν .
reliqui vero tenuerunt servos ejus , et contumeliis affectos occiderunt .
ወእለሰ ተርፉ አኀዝዎሙ ለአግብርቲሁ ወቀተልዎሙ ወኪያሁኒ ጸዐልዎ ።
and the rest grabbed his servants, treated them shamefully, and killed them.
22:7 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὁ δὲ βασιλεὺς ὠργίσθη , καὶ πέμψας τὰ στρατεύματα αὐτοῦ ἀπώλεσεν τοὺς φονεῖς ἐκείνους καὶ τὴν πόλιν αὐτῶν ἐνέπρησεν .
Rex autem cum audisset , iratus est : et missis exercitibus suis , perdidit homicidas illos , et civitatem illorum succendit .
ወሰሚዖ ንጉሥ ተምዐ ወፈነወ ሐራሁ ይቅትልዎሙ ለእልክቱ ቀተልት ወቀተልዎሙ ወሀገሮሙኒ አውዐዩ ።
When the king heard that, he was angry, and sent his armies, destroyed those murderers, and burned their city.
22:8 ⧉ ⤴︎ τότε λέγει τοῖς δούλοις αὐτοῦ · ὁ μὲν γάμος ἕτοιμός ἐστιν , οἱ δὲ κεκλημένοι οὐκ ἦσαν ἄξιοι ·
Tunc ait servis suis : Nuptiae quidem paratae sunt , sed qui invitati erant , non fuerunt digni :
ወእምዝ ይቤሎሙ ለአግብርቲሁ ከብካብየሰ ድልው ውእቱ ወባሕቱ ኢደለዎሙ ለእለ ዐሠርናሆሙ ።
“Then he said to his servants, ‘The wedding is ready, but those who were invited weren’t worthy.
22:9 ⧉ ⤴︎ πορεύεσθε οὖν ἐπὶ τὰς διεξόδους τῶν ὁδῶν , καὶ ὅσους ἐὰν εὕρητε καλέσατε εἰς τοὺς γάμους .
ite ergo ad exitus viarum , et quoscumque inveneritis , vocate ad nuptias .
ሑሩኬ እንከ ውስተ መራሕብት ወአናቅጽ ወኵሎ ዘረከብክሙ ጸውዑ ውስተ ከብካብ ።
Go therefore to the intersections of the highways, and as many as you may find, invite to the wedding feast.’
22:10 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἐξελθόντες οἱ δοῦλοι ἐκεῖνοι εἰς τὰς ὁδοὺς συνήγαγον πάντας ὅσους εὗρον , πονηρούς τε καὶ ἀγαθούς , καὶ ἐπλήσθη ὁ νυμφὼν ἀνακειμένων .
Et egressi servi ejus in vias , congregaverunt omnes quos invenerunt , malos et bonos : et impletae sunt nuptiae discumbentium .
ወወፂኦሙ እሙንቱ አግብርት ውስተ ፍናው አስተጋብኡ ኵሎ ዘረከቡ እኩያነ ወኄራነ ወመልአ ቤተ በዓል እምእለ ይረፍቁ ።
Those servants went out into the highways and gathered together as many as they found, both bad and good. The wedding was filled with guests.
22:11 ⧉ ⤴︎ εἰσελθὼν δὲ ὁ βασιλεὺς θεάσασθαι τοὺς ἀνακειμένους εἶδεν ἐκεῖ ἄνθρωπον οὐκ ἐνδεδυμένον ἔνδυμα γάμου ·
Intravit autem rex ut videret discumbentes , et vidit ibi hominem non vestitum veste nuptiali .
ወበዊኦ ንጉሥ ይርአዮሙ ለእለ ይረፍቁ ረከበ በህየ ብእሴ ዘኢለብሰ ልብሰ መርዓ ።
“But when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man who didn’t have on wedding clothing,
22:12 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ λέγει αὐτῷ · ἑταῖρε , πως εἰσῆλθες ὧδε μὴ ἔχων ἔνδυμα γάμου ; ὁ δὲ ἐφιμώθη .
Et ait illi : Amice , quomodo huc intrasti non habens vestem nuptialem ? At ille obmutuit .
ወይቤሎ ካልእየ እፎ ቦእከ ዝየ ዘእንበለ ትልበስ ልብሰ መርዓ ወተፈፅመ ውእቱ ብእሲ ።
and he said to him, ‘Friend, how did you come in here not wearing wedding clothing?’ He was speechless.
22:13 ⧉ ⤴︎ τότε ὁ βασιλεὺς εἶπεν τοῖς διακόνοις · δήσαντες αὐτοῦ πόδας καὶ χεῖρας ἐκβάλετε αὐτὸν εἰς τὸ σκότος τὸ ἐξώτερον · ἐκεῖ ἔσται ὁ κλαυθμὸς καὶ ὁ βρυγμὸς τῶν ὀδόντων .
Tunc dicit rex ministris : Ligatis manibus et pedibus ejus , mittite eum in tenebras exteriores : ibi erit fletus et stridor dentium .
ወእምዝ አዘዞሙ ንጉሥ ለአግብርቲሁ ይእስርዎ እደዊሁ ወእገሪሁ ወያውፅእዎ ውስተ ጸናፌ ጽልመት ኀበ ሀሎ ብካይ ወሐቅየ ስነን ።
Then the king said to the servants, ‘Bind him hand and foot, take him away, and throw him into the outer darkness. That is where the weeping and grinding of teeth will be.’
22:14 ⧉ ⤴︎ πολλοὶ γάρ εἰσιν κλητοὶ ὀλίγοι δὲ ἐκλεκτοί .
Multi enim sunt vocati , pauci vero electi .
እስመ ብዙኃን እሙንቱ ጽዉዓን ወኅዳጣን ኅሩያን ።
For many are called, but few chosen.”
22:15 ⧉ ⤴︎ Τότε πορευθέντες οἱ Φαρισαῖοι συμβούλιον ἔλαβον ὅπως αὐτὸν παγιδεύσωσιν ἐν λόγῳ .
Tunc abeuntes pharisaei , consilium inierunt ut caperent eum in sermone .
ወእምዝ ወፂኦሙ ፈሪሳውያን ተማከሩ ላዕለ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ከመ ያስሕትዎ በቃሉ ።
Then the Pharisees went and took counsel how they might entrap him in his talk.
22:16 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἀποστέλλουσιν αὐτῷ τοὺς μαθητὰς αὐτῶν μετὰ τῶν Ἡρωδιανῶν λέγοντας · διδάσκαλε , οἴδαμεν ὅτι ἀληθὴς εἶ καὶ τὴν ὁδὸν τοῦ θεοῦ ἐν ἀληθείᾳ διδάσκεις , καὶ οὐ μέλει σοι περὶ οὐδενός , οὐ γὰρ βλέπεις εἰς πρόσωπον ἀνθρώπων ·
Et mittunt ei discipulos suos cum Herodianis , dicentes : Magister , scimus quia verax es , et viam Dei in veritate doces , et non est tibi cura de aliquo : non enim respicis personam hominum :
ወፈነዉ ኀቤሁ አርዳኢሆሙ ምስለ ሰብአ ሄሮድስ ወይቤልዎ ሊቅ ነአምር ከመ ራትዕ አንተ ወበጽድቅ ትሜህር ፍኖተ እግዚአብሔር ወኢተሐስብ መነሂ ወኢታደሉ ለገጸ ሰብእ ።
They sent their disciples to him, along with the Herodians, saying, “Teacher, we know that you are honest, and teach the way of God in truth, no matter whom you teach; for you aren’t partial to anyone.
22:17 ⧉ ⤴︎ εἰπὸν οὖν ἡμῖν , τί σοι δοκεῖ · ἔξεστιν δοῦναι κῆνσον Καίσαρι ἢ οὔ ;
dic ergo nobis quid tibi videtur , licet censum dare Caesari , an non ?
ንግረነኬ እንከ ዘይረትዕ ምንተ ትብል ይከውንሁ ውሂበ ጸባሕተ ዲናር ለቄሳር ወሚመ ኢይከውንኑ ።
Tell us therefore, what do you think? Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?”
22:18 ⧉ ⤴︎ γνοὺς δὲ ὁ Ἰησοῦς τὴν πονηρίαν αὐτῶν εἶπεν · τί με πειράζετε , ὑποκριταί ;
Cognita autem Jesus nequitia eorum , ait : Quid me tentatis , hypocritae ?
ወአእመሮሙ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ እከዮሙ ወይቤሎሙ ለምንት ታሜክሩኒ ኦ መደልዋን ።
But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, “Why do you test me, you hypocrites?
22:19 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἐπιδείξατέ μοι τὸ νόμισμα τοῦ κήνσου . οἱ δὲ προσήνεγκαν αὐτῷ δηνάριον .
ostendite mihi numisma census . At illi obtulerunt ei denarium .
አርእዩኒ አላደ ዲናሩ ወአምጽኡ ሎቱ ዲናረ ።
Show me the tax money.” They brought to him a denarius.
22:20 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ λέγει αὐτοῖς ὁ Ἰησοῦς · τίνος ἡ εἰκὼν αὕτη καὶ ἡ ἐπιγραφή ;
Et ait illis Jesus : Cujus est imago haec , et superscriptio ?
ወይቤሎሙ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ዘመኑ ዝንቱ መልክዑ ወጽሕፈቱ ።
He asked them, “Whose is this image and inscription?”
22:21 ⧉ ⤴︎ λέγουσιν · Καίσαρος . τότε λέγει αὐτοῖς · ἀπόδοτε οὖν τὰ Καίσαρος Καίσαρι καὶ τὰ τοῦ θεοῦ τῷ θεῷ .
Dicunt ei : Caesaris . Tunc ait illis : Reddite ergo quae sunt Caesaris , Caesari : et quae sunt Dei , Deo .
ወይቤልዎ ዘቄሳር ወይቤሎሙ ሀቡ ዘቄሳር ለቄሳር ወዘእግዚአብሔር ለእግዚአብሔር ።
They said to him, “Caesar’s.” Then he said to them, “Give therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.”
22:22 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἀκούσαντες ἐθαύμασαν , καὶ ἀφέντες αὐτὸν ἀπῆλθαν .
Et audientes mirati sunt , et relicto eo abierunt .
ወሰሚዖሙ አንከሩ ወኀደግዎ ወኀለፉ ።
When they heard it, they marveled, and left him and went away.
22:23 ⧉ ⤴︎ Ἐν ἐκείνῃ τῇ ἡμέρᾳ προσῆλθον αὐτῷ Σαδδουκαῖοι λέγοντες μὴ εἶναι ἀνάστασιν , καὶ ἐπηρώτησαν αὐτὸν
In illo die accesserunt ad eum sadducaei , qui dicunt non esse resurrectionem : et interrogaverunt eum ,
ወበይእቲ ዕለት መጽኡ ኀቤሁ ሰዱቃውያን እለ ይብሉ አልቦ ትንሣኤ ምዉታን ።
On that day Sadducees (those who say that there is no resurrection) came to him. They asked him,
22:24 ⧉ ⤴︎ λέγοντες · διδάσκαλε , Μωϋσῆς εἶπεν · ἐάν τις ἀποθάνῃ μὴ ἔχων τέκνα , ἐπιγαμβρεύσει ὁ ἀδελφὸς αὐτοῦ τὴν γυναῖκα αὐτοῦ καὶ ἀναστήσει σπέρμα τῷ ἀδελφῷ αὐτοῦ .
dicentes : Magister , Moyses dixit : Si quis mortuus fuerit non habens filium , ut ducat frater ejus uxorem illius , et suscitet semen fratri suo .
ወተስእልዎ እንዘ ይብሉ ኦ ሊቅ ሙሴ ጸሐፈ ለነ እመቦ ብእሲ ዘሞተ እኁሁ እንዘ አልቦ ውሉድ ያውስባ ለብእሲተ እኁሁ ወያቅም ዘርዐ ለእኁሁ ።
saying, “Teacher, Moses said, ‘If a man dies, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife and raise up offspring for his brother.’
22:25 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἦσαν δὲ παρ’ ἡμῖν ἑπτὰ ἀδελφοί , καὶ ὁ πρῶτος γήμας ἐτελεύτησεν , καὶ μὴ ἔχων σπέρμα ἀφῆκεν τὴν γυναῖκα αὐτοῦ τῷ ἀδελφῷ αὐτοῦ .
Erant autem apud nos septem fratres : et primus , uxore ducta , defunctus est : et non habens semen , reliquit uxorem suam fratri suo .
ሀለዉ እንከ ኀቤነ ሰብዐቱ አኀው ወዘይልህቅ አውሰበ ብእሲተ ወሞተ እንዘ አልቦ ውሉድ ወኀደገ ብእሲቶ ለእኁሁ ።
Now there were with us seven brothers. The first married and died, and having no offspring left his wife to his brother.
22:26 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὁμοίως καὶ ὁ δεύτερος καὶ ὁ τρίτος , ἕως τῶν ἑπτά .
Similiter secundus , et tertius usque ad septimum .
ወከማሁ ካልኡኒ ወሣልሱኒ እስከ ሰብዐቲሆሙ ።
In the same way, the second also, and the third, to the seventh.
22:27 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὕστερον δὲ πάντων ἀπέθανεν ἡ γυνή .
Novissime autem omnium et mulier defuncta est .
ወድኅረ ኵሎሙ ሞተት ይእቲ ብእሲት ።
After them all, the woman died.
22:28 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἐν τῇ ἀναστάσει οὖν τίνος τῶν ἑπτὰ ἔσται γυνή ; πάντες γὰρ ἔσχον αὐτήν .
In resurrectione ergo cujus erit de septem uxor ? omnes enim habuerunt eam .
ወአመ ይትነሥኡ እንከ ምዉታን ለመኑ እምሰብዐቲሆሙ ትከውን ብእሲተ እስመ ኵሎሙ አውሰብዋ ።
In the resurrection therefore, whose wife will she be of the seven? For they all had her.”
22:29 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἀποκριθεὶς δὲ ὁ Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν αὐτοῖς · πλανᾶσθε , μὴ εἰδότες τὰς γραφὰς μηδὲ τὴν δύναμιν τοῦ θεοῦ .
Respondens autem Jesus , ait illis : Erratis nescientes Scripturas , neque virtutem Dei .
ወአውሥአ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ወይቤሎሙ ስሕትክሙ በኢያእምሮ መጻሕፍት ወኢኀይለ እግዚአብሔር ።
But Jesus answered them, “You are mistaken, not knowing the Scriptures, nor the power of God.
22:30 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἐν γὰρ τῇ ἀναστάσει οὔτε γαμοῦσιν οὔτε γαμίζονται , ἀλλ’ ὡς ἄγγελοι θεοῦ ἐν τῷ οὐρανῷ εἰσίν .
In resurrectione enim neque nubent , neque nubentur : sed erunt sicut angeli Dei in caelo .
አመሰ የሐይዉ ምዉታን ኢያወስቡ ወኢይተዋሰቡ አላ ከመ መላእክተ እግዚአብሔር በሰማያት እሙንቱ ።
For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like God’s angels in heaven.
22:31 ⧉ ⤴︎ περὶ δὲ τῆς ἀναστάσεως τῶν νεκρῶν οὐκ ἀνέγνωτε τὸ ῥηθὲν ὑμῖν ὑπὸ τοῦ θεοῦ λέγοντος ·
De resurrectione autem mortuorum non legistis quod dictum est a Deo dicente vobis :
ወበእንተ ትንሣኤ ምዉታንሰ ኢያንበብክሙኑ ዘተብህለ ለክሙ እምኀበ እግዚአብሔር ዘይቤ ።
But concerning the resurrection of the dead, haven’t you read that which was spoken to you by God, saying,
22:32 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἐγώ εἰμι ὁ θεὸς Ἀβραὰμ καὶ ὁ θεὸς Ἰσαὰκ καὶ ὁ θεὸς Ἰακώβ ; οὐκ ἔστιν θεὸς νεκρῶν ἀλλὰ ζώντων .
Ego sum Deus Abraham , et Deus Isaac , et Deus Jacob ? Non est Deus mortuorum , sed viventium .
«አነ ውእቱ እግዚአብሔር አምላከ አብርሃም ወአምላከ ይስሐቅ ወአምላከ ያዕቆብ » ኢኮነኬ አምላከ ምዉታን አላ አምላከ ሕያዋን ውእቱ ።
‘I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.”
22:33 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἀκούσαντες οἱ ὄχλοι ἐξεπλήσσοντο ἐπὶ τῇ διδαχῇ αὐτοῦ .
Et audientes turbae , mirabantur in doctrina ejus .
ወሰሚዖሙ ሕዝብ አንከሩ ምህሮቶ ።
When the multitudes heard it, they were astonished at his teaching.
22:34 ⧉ ⤴︎ Οἱ δὲ Φαρισαῖοι ἀκούσαντες ὅτι ἐφίμωσεν τοὺς Σαδδουκαίους , συνήχθησαν ἐπὶ τὸ αὐτό ,
Pharisaei autem audientes quod silentium imposuisset sadducaeis , convenerunt in unum :
ወሰሚዖሙ ፈሪሳውያን ከመ ፈፀሞሙ ለሰዱቃውያን ተጋብኡ ኀቤሁ ኅቡረ ።
But the Pharisees, when they heard that he had silenced the Sadducees, gathered themselves together.
22:35 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἐπηρώτησεν εἷς ἐξ αὐτῶν νομικὸς πειράζων αὐτόν ·
et interrogavit eum unus ex eis legis doctor , tentans eum :
ወተስእሎ እምውስቴቶሙ አሐዱ ጸሓፌ ሀገር እንዘ ያሜክሮ ።
One of them, a lawyer, asked him a question, testing him.
22:36 ⧉ ⤴︎ διδάσκαλε , ποία ἐντολὴ μεγάλη ἐν τῷ νόμῳ ;
Magister , quod est mandatum magnum in lege ?
ኦ ሊቅ አይኑ ትእዛዝ የዐቢ በውስተ ኦሪት ።
“Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the law?”
22:37 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὁ δὲ ἔφη αὐτῷ · ἀγαπήσεις κύριον τὸν θεόν σου ἐν ὅλῃ τῇ καρδίᾳ σου καὶ ἐν ὅλῃ τῇ ψυχῇ σου καὶ ἐν ὅλῃ τῇ διανοίᾳ σου .
Ait illi Jesus : Diliges Dominum Deum tuum ex toto corde tuo , et in tota anima tua , et in tota mente tua .
ወይቤሎ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ «አፍቅሮ ለእግዚአብሔር አምላክከ በኵሉ ልብከ ወበኵሉ ነፍስከ ወበኵሉ ኀይልከ ወበኵሉ ኅሊናከ ።»
Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’
22:38 ⧉ ⤴︎ αὕτη ἐστὶν ἡ μεγάλη καὶ πρώτη ἐντολή .
Hoc est maximum , et primum mandatum .
ዛቲ ትእዛዝ ዐባይ ወቀዳሚት ።
This is the first and great commandment.
22:39 ⧉ ⤴︎ δευτέρα ὁμοία αὐτῇ · ἀγαπήσεις τὸν πλησίον σου ὡς σεαυτόν .
Secundum autem simile est huic : Diliges proximum tuum , sicut teipsum .
ወካልእታሂ እንተ ትመስላ «አፍቅር ቢጸከ ከመ ነፍስከ ።»
A second likewise is this, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’
22:40 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἐν ταύταις ταῖς δυσὶν ἐντολαῖς ὅλος ὁ νόμος κρέμαται καὶ οἱ προφῆται .
In his duobus mandatis universa lex pendet , et prophetae .
በእላ ክልኤቲ ትእዛዛት ተሰቅሉ ኵሉ ኦሪት ወነቢያት ።
The whole law and the prophets depend on these two commandments.”
22:41 ⧉ ⤴︎ Συνηγμένων δὲ τῶν Φαρισαίων ἐπηρώτησεν αὐτοὺς ὁ Ἰησοῦς
Congregatis autem pharisaeis , interrogavit eos Jesus ,
ወእንዘ ጉቡኣን ፈሪሳውያን ተስእሎሙ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ እንዘ ይብል ።
Now while the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them a question,
22:42 ⧉ ⤴︎ λέγων · τί ὑμῖν δοκεῖ περὶ τοῦ Χριστοῦ ; τίνος υἱός ἐστιν ; λέγουσιν αὐτῷ · τοῦ Δαυείδ .
dicens : Quid vobis videtur de Christo ? cujus filius est ? Dicunt ei : David .
ምንተ ትብሉ በእንተ ክርስቶስ ወልደ መኑ ውእቱ ።
saying, “What do you think of the Christ? Whose son is he?” They said to him, “Of David.”
22:43 ⧉ ⤴︎ λέγει αὐτοῖς · πῶς οὖν Δαυεὶδ ἐν πνεύματι καλεῖ κύριον αὐτὸν , λέγων ·
Ait illis : Quomodo ergo David in spiritu vocat eum Dominum , dicens :
ወይቤልዎ ወልደ ዳዊት ።
He said to them, “How then does David in the Spirit call him Lord, saying,
22:44 ⧉ ⤴︎ εἶπεν κύριος τῷ κυρίῳ μου · κάθου ἐκ δεξιῶν μου ἕως ἂν θῶ τοὺς ἐχθρούς σου ὑποκάτω τῶν ποδῶν σου .
Dixit Dominus Domino meo : Sede a dextris meis , donec ponam inimicos tuos scabellum pedum tuorum ?
ወይቤሎሙ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ እፎ እንከ ለሊሁ ዳዊት በመንፈስ ቅዱስ ይቤ «ይቤሎ እግዚእ ለእግዚእየ ንበር በየማንየ እስከ አገብኦሙ ለጸላእትከ ታሕተ መከየደ እገሪከ ።»
‘The Lord said to my Lord, sit on my right hand, until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet’?
22:45 ⧉ ⤴︎ εἰ οὖν Δαυεὶδ καλεῖ αὐτὸν κύριον , πῶς υἱὸς αὐτοῦ ἐστιν ;
Si ergo David vocat eum Dominum , quomodo filius ejus est ?
ዘለሊሁ እንከ ዳዊት እግዚእየ ይቤሎ እፎ እንከ ይከውኖ ወልዶ ።
“If then David calls him Lord, how is he his son?”
22:46 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ οὐδεὶς ἐδύνατο ἀποκριθῆναι αὐτῷ λόγον , οὐδὲ ἐτόλμησέν τις ἀπ’ ἐκείνης τῆς ἡμέρας ἐπερωτῆσαι αὐτὸν οὐκέτι .
Et nemo poterat ei respondere verbum : neque ausus fuit quisquam ex illa die eum amplius interrogare .
ወአልቦ ዘክህለ አውሥኦቶ ቃለ ፥ ወአልቦ ዘተኀበለ ይሰአሎ ምንተኒ እምይእቲ ዕለት ።
No one was able to answer him a word, neither did any man dare ask him any more questions from that day forward.
