3:1
וְהָיָ֣ה אַחֲרֵי־כֵ֗ן אֶשְׁפּ֤וֹךְ אֶת־רוּחִי֙ עַל־כׇּל־בָּשָׂ֔ר וְנִבְּא֖וּ בְּנֵיכֶ֣ם וּבְנוֹתֵיכֶ֑ם זִקְנֵיכֶם֙ חֲלֹמ֣וֹת יַחֲלֹמ֔וּן בַּח֣וּרֵיכֶ֔ם חֶזְיֹנ֖וֹת יִרְאֽוּ׃
καὶ ἔσται μετὰ ταῦτα καὶ ἐκχεῶ ἀπὸ τοῦ πνεύματός μου ἐπὶ πᾶσαν σάρκα καὶ προφητεύσουσιν οἱ υἱοὶ ὑμῶν καὶ αἱ θυγατέρες ὑμῶν καὶ οἱ πρεσβύτεροι ὑμῶν ἐνύπνια ἐνυπνιασθήσονται καὶ οἱ νεανίσκοι ὑμῶν ὁράσεις ὄψονται
Quia ecce in diebus illis, et in tempore illo, cum convertero captivitatem Juda et Jerusalem,
እስመ፡ ይእተ፡ አሚረ፡ አነ፡ በእማንቱ፡ መዋዕል፡ እመይጥ፡ ፄዋ፡ ይሁዳ፡ ወኢየሩሳሌም።
“It will happen afterward, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh; and your sons and your daughters will prophesy. Your old men will dream dreams. Your young men will see visions.
3:2
וְגַ֥ם עַל־הָעֲבָדִ֖ים וְעַל־הַשְּׁפָח֑וֹת בַּיָּמִ֣ים הָהֵ֔מָּה אֶשְׁפּ֖וֹךְ אֶת־רוּחִֽי׃
καὶ ἐπὶ τοὺς δούλους καὶ ἐπὶ τὰς δούλας ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις ἐκείναις ἐκχεῶ ἀπὸ τοῦ πνεύματός μου
congregabo omnes gentes, et deducam eas in vallem Josaphat ; et disceptabo cum eis ibi super populo meo, et haereditate mea Israël, quos disperserunt in nationibus, et terram meam diviserunt.
ወአስተጋብኦሙ፡ ለኲሉ፡ አሕዛብ፡ ዋኣዋርዶሙ፡ ቆላት፡ ዩሳፍጥ፡ ወእትዋቀሦሙ፡ በሕየ፡ በእንተ፡ ሕዝብየ፡ ወበእንተ፡ ርስትየ፡ እስራኤል፡ በኀበ፡ ተዘርዉ፡ ውስተ፡ ኣሕዛብ፡ ወተካፈሉ፡ ምድርየ።
And also on the servants and on the handmaids in those days, I will pour out my Spirit.
3:3
וְנָֽתַתִּי֙ מֽוֹפְתִ֔ים בַּשָּׁמַ֖יִם וּבָאָ֑רֶץ דָּ֣ם וָאֵ֔שׁ וְתִֽימְר֖וֹת עָשָֽׁן׃
καὶ δώσω τέρατα ἐν τῷ οὐρανῷ καὶ ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς αἷμα καὶ πῦρ καὶ ἀτμίδα καπνοῦ
Et super populum meum miserunt sortem ; et posuerunt puerum in prostibulo, et puellam vendiderunt pro vino ut biberent.
ወተዐጸዉ፡ ዲበ፡ ሕዝብየ፡ ወወሀቡ፡ ደቂቆሙ፡ ለዘማት፡ ወሤጡ፡ አዋዲሆሙ፡ ለወይን፡ ወሰትዩ።
I will show wonders in the heavens and on the earth: blood, fire, and pillars of smoke.
3:4
הַשֶּׁ֙מֶשׁ֙ יֵהָפֵ֣ךְ לְחֹ֔שֶׁךְ וְהַיָּרֵ֖חַ לְדָ֑ם לִפְנֵ֗י בּ֚וֹא י֣וֹם יְהֹוָ֔ה הַגָּד֖וֹל וְהַנּוֹרָֽא׃
ὁ ἥλιος μεταστραφήσεται εἰς σκότος καὶ ἡ σελήνη εἰς αἷμα πρὶν ἐλθεῖν ἡμέραν κυρίου τὴν μεγάλην καὶ ἐπιφανῆ
Verum quid mihi et vobis, Tyrus et Sidon, et omnis terminus Palaestinorum ? numquid ultionem vos reddetis mihi ? et si ulciscimini vos contra me, cito velociter reddam vicissitudinem vobis super caput vestrum.
ምንተ፡ ብየ፡ ምስሌክን፡ ጢሮስ፡ ወዲዶና፡ ወኲሉ፡ ገሊላ፡ ዘኢሎፍሊ፡ በቀለኑ፡ ትትቤቀላኒ፡ ወቂመኑ፡ ትትቀየማኒ፡ ፍጡነ፡ ወጉጉአ፡ እፈድየክሙ፡ ርእስክመሙ።
The sun will be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of Yahweh comes.
3:5
וְהָיָ֗ה כֹּ֧ל אֲשֶׁר־יִקְרָ֛א בְּשֵׁ֥ם יְהֹוָ֖ה יִמָּלֵ֑ט כִּ֠י בְּהַר־צִיּ֨וֹן וּבִירוּשָׁלַ֜͏ִם תִּהְיֶ֣ה פְלֵיטָ֗ה כַּֽאֲשֶׁר֙ אָמַ֣ר יְהֹוָ֔ה וּבַ֨שְּׂרִידִ֔ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר יְהֹוָ֖ה קֹרֵֽא׃
καὶ ἔσται πᾶς ὃς ἂν ἐπικαλέσηται τὸ ὄνομα κυρίου σωθήσεται ὅτι ἐν τῷ ὄρει Σιων καὶ ἐν Ιερουσαλημ ἔσται ἀνασῳζόμενος καθότι εἶπεν κύριος καὶ εὐαγγελιζόμενοι οὓς κύριος προσκέκληται
Argentum enim meum et aurum tulistis, et desiderabilia mea et pulcherrima intulistis in delubra vestra.
ናሁ፡ ነሳእክሙ፡ ወርቅየ፡ ወብሩርየ፡ ወዓስራትየ፡ ወመሠንዩ፡ አባእክሙ፡ ቤተክሙ።
It will happen that whoever will call on Yahweh’s name shall be saved; for in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there will be those who escape, as Yahweh has said, and among the remnant, those whom Yahweh calls.
3:6——
Et filios Juda et filios Jerusalem vendidistis filiis Graecorum, ut longe faceretis eos de finibus suis.
ወሤጥክምዎሙ፡ ለደቂቀ፡ ይሁዳ፡ ወለደቂቀ፡ እየሩሳሌም፡ ኀበ፡ ደቂቀ፡ አረሚ፡ ከመ፡ ታጥፍእዎሙ፡ እምብሔሮሙ።
and have sold the children of Judah and the children of Jerusalem to the sons of the Greeks, that you may remove them far from their border.
3:7——
Ecce ego suscitabo eos de loco in quo vendidistis eos, et convertam retributionem vestram in caput vestrum.
ናሁ፡ አነ፡ አነስኦሙ፡ እምውእቱ፡ ብሔር፡ ኀበ፡ ሤትክምዎሙ፡ ህየ፡ ወእፈድየክሙ፡ ፍዳክሙ፡ ዲበ፡ ርእስክሙ።
Behold, I will stir them up out of the place where you have sold them, and will return your repayment on your own head;
3:8——
Et vendam filios vestros et filias vestras in manibus filiorum Juda, et venundabunt eos Sabaeis, genti longinquae, quia Dominus locutus est.
ወእትቤቀሎሙ፡ ለደቂቅክሙ፡ ወለአዋልዲክሙ፡ በእዴሆሙ፡ ለደቂቀ፡ ይሁዳ፡ ወእትቤቀለክሙ፡ በኀበ፡ ተፄወውክሙ፡ በውስተ፡ አሕዛብ፡ ርኁቃን፡ ነዋኀ፡ እስመ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ነበበ።
and I will sell your sons and your daughters into the hands of the children of Judah, and they will sell them to the men of Sheba, to a faraway nation, for Yahweh has spoken it.”
3:9——
Clamate hoc in gentibus, sanctificate bellum, suscitate robustos : accedant, ascendant omnes viri bellatores.
ስብኩ፡ ዘንተ፡ ውስተ፡ አሕዛብ፡ ወዐስሩ፡ ጸብአ፡ ወአንስኡ፡ መስተቃትላነ፡ አውፅእዎሙ፡ ወይዕርጉ፡ ኲሉ፡ ዕደው፡ መስተቃትላን።
Proclaim this among the nations: “Prepare for war! Stir up the mighty men. Let all the warriors draw near. Let them come up.
3:10——
Concidite aratra vestra in gladios, et ligones vestros in lanceas. Infirmus dicat : Quia fortis ego sum.
ወማሕረሰክሙኒ፡ አግብሩ፡ ኮያንወ፡ ወማዕፅደክመሂ፡ አግብሩ፡ ረምሐ፡ ድኩምኒ፡ ይበል፡ ጽኑዕ፡ አነ።
Beat your plowshares into swords, and your pruning hooks into spears. Let the weak say, ‘I am strong.’
3:11——
Erumpite, et venite, omnes gentes de circuitu, et congregamini ; ibi occumbere faciet Dominus robustos tuos.
ወይትጋብኡ፡ ኲሉ፡ አሕዛብ፡ ወይሖሩ፡ ይዕግቱ፡ መስተባእሳነ።
Hurry and come, all you surrounding nations, and gather yourselves together.” Cause your mighty ones to come down there, Yahweh.
3:12——
Consurgant, et ascendant gentes in vallem Josaphat, quia ibi sedebo ut judicem omnes gentes in circuitu.
ወይትነስኡ፡ ኩሉ፡ አሕዛብ፡ ወይዕርጉ፡ ቆላተ፡ ዩሳፍጥ፡ ለእስመ፡ ሕየ፡ እነብር፡ ወአስተዋቅሶሙ፡ ለኩሉ፡ አሕዛብ፡ ወእ፡ አድያም።
“Let the nations arouse themselves, and come up to the valley of Jehoshaphat; for there I will sit to judge all the surrounding nations.
3:13——
Mittite falces, quoniam maturavit messis ; venite, et descendite, quia plenum est torcular, exuberant torcularia : quia multiplicata est malitia eorum.
ፈንዉ፡ ማዕፅደ፡ እስመ፡ በጽሐ፡ ማእረር፡ ባኡ፡ ኪዱ፡ እስመ፡ መልአ፡ ምክያድ፡ ወተክዕወ፡ እምነ፡ ምክያዳት፡ ናሁ፡ በዝኀ፡ እከዩሙ።
Put in the sickle; for the harvest is ripe. Come, tread, for the wine press is full, the vats overflow, for their wickedness is great.”
3:14——
Populi, populi, in valle concisionis, quia juxta est dies Domini in valle concisionis.
ወውዑ፡ በቆላተ፡ ቅስት፡ ወደምፁ፡ እስመ፡ አልጸቀት፡ ዕለተ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ በውስተ፡ ቆላተ፡ ቅስት።
Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision! For the day of Yahweh is near in the valley of decision.
3:15——
Sol et luna obtenebrati sunt, et stellae retraxerunt splendorem suum.
ፀሐይ፡ ወወርኀ፡ ይጸልሙ፡ ወለከዋብትኒ፡ የዐርብ፡ ብርሃኖሙ።
The sun and the moon are darkened, and the stars withdraw their shining.
3:16——
Et Dominus de Sion rugiet, et de Jerusalem dabit vocem suam, et movebuntur caeli et terra ; et Dominus spes populi sui, et fortitudo filiorum Israël.
ወይኬልሕ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ እምጽየን፡ ወእምኢየሩሳም፡ ይሁብ፡ ቃለ፡ ወያድለቀልቅ፡ ሰማይ፡ ወምድር፡ ወእግዚአብሔር፡ ይምሕክ፡ ሕዝቦ፡ ወያጸንዖሙ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ለደቂቀ፡ እስራኤል።
Yahweh will roar from Zion, and thunder from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth will shake; but Yahweh will be a refuge to his people, and a stronghold to the children of Israel.
3:17——
Et scietis quia ego Dominus Deus vester, habitans in Sion monte sancto meo ; et erit Jerusalem sancta, et alieni non transibunt per eam amplius.
ወተአምሩ፡ እንከ፡ ከመ፡ አነ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ አምላክሙ፡ ዘአኀድር፡ ውስተ፡ ጽየን፡ በደብረ፡ መቅደስየ፡ ወትከውን፡ ኢየሩሳሌም፡ ሀገረ፡ ቅድስት፡ ወኢየኀልፍ፡ እንከ፡ እንተ፡ ውስቴታ፡ ዝእምካልእ፡ ህዝብ።
“So you will know that I am Yahweh, your God, dwelling in Zion, my holy mountain. Then Jerusalem will be holy, and no strangers will pass through her any more.
3:18——
Et erit in die illa : stillabunt montes dulcedinem, et colles fluent lacte, et per omnes rivos Juda ibunt aquae ; et fons de domo Domini egredietur, et irrigabit torrentem spinarum.
ወይከውን፡ ይእተ፡ አሚረ፡ ያንጸፈጽፍ፡ መዐር፡ እምአድባር፡ ወይውኀዝ፡ ሐሊበ፡ እምአውግር፡ ዋይነቅዕ፡ ማይ፡ በኩሎ፡ በሐውር፡ ይሁዳ፡ ወይፈልፍል፡ ነቅዕ፡ ወይወፅእ፡ ፈለገ፡ ሰኪኖን።
It will happen in that day, that the mountains will drop down sweet wine, the hills will flow with milk, all the brooks of Judah will flow with waters; and a fountain will flow out from Yahweh’s house, and will water the valley of Shittim.
3:19——
Aegyptus in desolationem erit, et Idumaea in desertum perditionis, pro eo quod inique egerint in filios Juda, et effuderint sanguinem innocentem in terra sua.
ወይማስን፡ ብሔረ፡ ግብፅ፡ ወይከውን፡ በድወ፡ ኤዶምያስ፡ ወይጠፍኡ፡ በኃጢአቶሙ፡ ለደቂቀ፡ ይሁዳ፡ እስመ፡ ከዐዉ፡ ደመ፡ ጻድቅ፡ ውስተ፡ ምድሮሙ።
Egypt will be a desolation and Edom will be a desolate wilderness, for the violence done to the children of Judah, because they have shed innocent blood in their land.
3:20——
Et Judaea in aeternum habitabitur, et Jerusalem in generationem et generationem.
ወይዳሰ፡ ለዓለም፡ ትነብር፡ ወኢየሩሳምኒ፡ ለትውልደ፡ ትውልድ።
But Judah will be inhabited forever, and Jerusalem from generation to generation.
3:21——
Et mundabo sanguinem eorum, quem non mundaveram ; et Dominus commorabitur in Sion.
ወእትቤቀል፡ ደሞሙ፡ ወኢነጽህ፡ እስመ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ የኀድር፡ ውስተ፡ ጽዩን።
I will cleanse their blood that I have not cleansed, for Yahweh dwells in Zion.”
