34:1
הַדָּבָ֛ר אֲשֶׁר־הָיָ֥ה אֶֽל־יִרְמְיָ֖הוּ מֵאֵ֣ת יְהֹוָ֑ה וּנְבוּכַדְרֶאצַּ֣ר מֶלֶךְ־בָּבֶ֣ל׀וְכׇל־חֵיל֡וֹ וְכׇל־מַמְלְכ֣וֹת אֶ֩רֶץ֩ מֶמְשֶׁ֨לֶת יָד֜וֹ וְכׇל־הָעַמִּ֗ים נִלְחָמִ֧ים עַל־יְרוּשָׁלַ֛͏ִם וְעַל־כׇּל־עָרֶ֖יהָ לֵאמֹֽר׃
—
Verbum quod factum est ad Jeremiam a Domino quando Nabuchodonosor rex Babylonis, et omnis exercitus ejus, universaque regna terrae quae erant sub potestate manus ejus, et omnes populi, bellabant contra Jerusalem, et contra omnes urbes ejus, dicens :
ቃለ፡ ዘኮነ፡ ኀበ፡ ኤርምያስ፡ እምኀበ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ወናቡከደነፆር፡ ንጉሠ፡ ባቢሎን፡ ወኵሉ፡ ሠራዊቱ፡ ወኵሉ፡ መንግሥታተ፡ ምድር፡ ያነሥኡ፡ እደ፡ ወኵሉ፡ አሕዛበ፡ ምድር፡ ይትቃተልዋ፡ ለኢየሩሳሌም፡ ወለኵሉ፡ አህጉረ፡ ይሁዳ፡ ወይቤ።
The word which came to Jeremiah from Yahweh, when Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, with all his army, all the kingdoms of the earth that were under his dominion, and all the peoples, were fighting against Jerusalem and against all its cities, saying:
34:2
כֹּֽה־אָמַ֤ר יְהֹוָה֙ אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל הָלֹךְ֙ וְאָ֣מַרְתָּ֔ אֶל־צִדְקִיָּ֖הוּ מֶ֣לֶךְ יְהוּדָ֑ה וְאָמַרְתָּ֣ אֵלָ֗יו כֹּ֚ה אָמַ֣ר יְהֹוָ֔ה הִנְנִ֨י נֹתֵ֜ן אֶת־הָעִ֤יר הַזֹּאת֙ בְּיַ֣ד מֶֽלֶךְ־בָּבֶ֔ל וּשְׂרָפָ֖הּ בָּאֵֽשׁ׃
οὕτως εἶπεν κύριος ποίησον δεσμοὺς καὶ κλοιοὺς καὶ περίθου περὶ τὸν τράχηλόν σου
Haec dicit Dominus Deus Israël : Vade, et loquere ad Sedeciam regem Juda, et dices ad eum : Haec dicit Dominus : Ecce ego tradam civitatem hanc in manus regis Babylonis, et succendet eam igni :
ከመዝ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ አምላከ፡ እስራኤል፡ ሑር፡ ኀበ፡ ሴዴቅያስ፡ ንጉሠ፡ ይሁዳ፡ ወበሎ፡ ከመዝ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ተውህቦ፡ ትትወሀብ፡ ዛሀገር፡ ውስተ፡ እደ፡ ንጉሠ፡ ባቢሎን፡ ወይነሥኣ፡ ወያውዕያ፡ በእሳት።
“Yahweh, the God of Israel, says, ‘Go, and speak to Zedekiah king of Judah, and tell him, Yahweh says, “Behold, I will give this city into the hand of the king of Babylon and he will burn it with fire.
34:3
וְאַתָּ֗ה לֹ֤א תִמָּלֵט֙ מִיָּד֔וֹ כִּ֚י תָּפֹ֣שׂ תִּתָּפֵ֔שׂ וּבְיָד֖וֹ תִּנָּתֵ֑ן וְֽ֠עֵינֶ֠יךָ אֶת־עֵינֵ֨י מֶלֶךְ־בָּבֶ֜ל תִּרְאֶ֗ינָה וּפִ֛יהוּ אֶת־פִּ֥יךָ יְדַבֵּ֖ר וּבָבֶ֥ל תָּבֽוֹא׃
καὶ ἀποστελεῖς αὐτοὺς πρὸς βασιλέα Ιδουμαίας καὶ πρὸς βασιλέα Μωαβ καὶ πρὸς βασιλέα υἱῶν Αμμων καὶ πρὸς βασιλέα Τύρου καὶ πρὸς βασιλέα Σιδῶνος ἐν χερσὶν ἀγγέλων αὐτῶν τῶν ἐρχομένων εἰς ἀπάντησιν αὐτῶν εἰς Ιερουσαλημ πρὸς Σεδεκιαν βασιλέα Ιουδα
et tu non effugies de manu ejus, sed comprehensione capieris, et in manu ejus traderis : et oculi tui oculos regis Babylonis videbunt, et os ejus cum ore tuo loquetur, et Babylonem introibis.
ወአንተ፡ እምእዴሁ፡ ኢትድኅን፡ ወተንሥኦ፡ ትትነሣእ፡ ውስተ፡ እዴሁ፡ ትትወሀብ፡ ወአዕይንቲከ፡ ለአዕይንቲሁ፡ ይእሬያ፡ ወአፉከ፡ ምስለ፡ አፉሁ፡ ይናገር፡ ወውስተ፡ ባቢሎን፡ ትበውእ።
You won’t escape out of his hand, but will surely be taken and delivered into his hand. Your eyes will see the eyes of the king of Babylon, and he will speak with you mouth to mouth. You will go to Babylon.”’
34:4
אַ֚ךְ שְׁמַ֣ע דְּבַר־יְהֹוָ֔ה צִדְקִיָּ֖הוּ מֶ֣לֶךְ יְהוּדָ֑ה כֹּֽה־אָמַ֤ר יְהֹוָה֙ עָלֶ֔יךָ לֹ֥א תָמ֖וּת בֶּחָֽרֶב׃
καὶ συντάξεις αὐτοῖς πρὸς τοὺς κυρίους αὐτῶν εἰπεῖν οὕτως εἶπεν κύριος ὁ θεὸς Ισραηλ οὕτως ἐρεῖτε πρὸς τοὺς κυρίους ὑμῶν
Attamen audi verbum Domini, Sedecia, rex Juda : Haec dicit Dominus ad te : Non morieris in gladio,
—
“Yet hear Yahweh’s word, O Zedekiah king of Judah. Yahweh says concerning you, ‘You won’t die by the sword.
34:5
בְּשָׁל֣וֹם תָּמ֗וּת וּֽכְמִשְׂרְפ֣וֹת אֲ֠בוֹתֶ֠יךָ הַמְּלָכִ֨ים הָרִאשֹׁנִ֜ים אֲשֶׁר־הָי֣וּ לְפָנֶ֗יךָ כֵּ֚ן יִשְׂרְפוּ־לָ֔ךְ וְה֥וֹי אָד֖וֹן יִסְפְּדוּ־לָ֑ךְ כִּֽי־דָבָ֥ר אֲנִֽי־דִבַּ֖רְתִּי נְאֻם־יְהֹוָֽה׃ {ס}
ὅτι ἐγὼ ἐποίησα τὴν γῆν ἐν τῇ ἰσχύι μου τῇ μεγάλῃ καὶ ἐν τῷ ἐπιχείρῳ μου τῷ ὑψηλῷ καὶ δώσω αὐτὴν ᾧ ἐὰν δόξῃ ἐν ὀφθαλμοῖς μου
sed in pace morieris : et secundum combustiones patrum tuorum, regum priorum qui fuerunt ante te, sic comburent te : et : Vae domine, plangent te : quia verbum ego locutus sum, dicit Dominus.
ኢትመውት፡ በኵናት፡ በሰላም፡ ትመውት።
You will die in peace; and with the burnings of your fathers, the former kings who were before you, so they will make a burning for you. They will lament you, saying, “Ah Lord!” for I have spoken the word,’ says Yahweh.”
34:6
וַיְדַבֵּר֙ יִרְמְיָ֣הוּ הַנָּבִ֔יא אֶל־צִדְקִיָּ֖הוּ מֶ֣לֶךְ יְהוּדָ֑ה אֵ֛ת כׇּל־הַדְּבָרִ֥ים הָאֵ֖לֶּה בִּירוּשָׁלָֽ͏ִם׃
ἔδωκα τὴν γῆν τῷ Ναβουχοδονοσορ βασιλεῖ Βαβυλῶνος δουλεύειν αὐτῷ καὶ τὰ θηρία τοῦ ἀγροῦ ἐργάζεσθαι αὐτῷ
Et locutus est Jeremias propheta ad Sedeciam regem Juda universa verba haec in Jerusalem.
ወነበቦ፡ ኤርምያስ፡ ለሴዴቅያስ፡ ንጉሠ፡ ይሁዳ፡ ኵሎ፡ ዘነገረ፡ በኢየሩሳሌም።
Then Jeremiah the prophet spoke all these words to Zedekiah king of Judah in Jerusalem,
34:7
וְחֵ֣יל מֶלֶךְ־בָּבֶ֗ל נִלְחָמִים֙ עַל־יְר֣וּשָׁלַ֔͏ִם וְעַ֛ל כׇּל־עָרֵ֥י יְהוּדָ֖ה הַנּוֹתָר֑וֹת אֶל־לָכִישׁ֙ וְאֶל־עֲזֵקָ֔ה כִּ֣י הֵ֗נָּה נִשְׁאֲר֛וּ בְּעָרֵ֥י יְהוּדָ֖ה עָרֵ֥י מִבְצָֽר׃ {פ}
—
Et exercitus regis Babylonis pugnabat contra Jerusalem, et contra omnes civitates Juda quae reliquae erant, contra Lachis et contra Azecha : hae enim supererant de civitatibus Juda, urbes munitae.
ወኃይለ፡ ንጉሠ፡ ባቢሎን፡ ይጸብእ፡ ኢየሩሳሌም፡ ወዲበ፡ አህጉረ፡ ይሁዳ፡ እለ፡ ተርፉ፡ ወዲበ፡ ለኪሶ፡ ወዲበ፡ ዓዜቃ፡ እስመ፡ እማንቱ፡ ተርፋ፡ ውስተ፡ አህጉረ፡ ይሁዳ፡ አህጉር፡ ጽኑዓት።
when the king of Babylon’s army was fighting against Jerusalem and against all the cities of Judah that were left, against Lachish and against Azekah; for these alone remained of the cities of Judah as fortified cities.
34:8
הַדָּבָ֛ר אֲשֶׁר־הָיָ֥ה אֶֽל־יִרְמְיָ֖הוּ מֵאֵ֣ת יְהֹוָ֑ה אַחֲרֵ֡י כְּרֹת֩ הַמֶּ֨לֶךְ צִדְקִיָּ֜הוּ בְּרִ֗ית אֶת־כׇּל־הָעָם֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר בִּירוּשָׁלַ֔͏ִם לִקְרֹ֥א לָהֶ֖ם דְּרֽוֹר׃
καὶ τὸ ἔθνος καὶ ἡ βασιλεία ὅσοι ἐὰν μὴ ἐμβάλωσιν τὸν τράχηλον αὐτῶν ὑπὸ τὸν ζυγὸν βασιλέως Βαβυλῶνος ἐν μαχαίρᾳ καὶ ἐν λιμῷ ἐπισκέψομαι αὐτούς εἶπεν κύριος ἕως ἐκλίπωσιν ἐν χειρὶ αὐτοῦ
Verbum quod factum est ad Jeremiam a Domino, postquam percussit rex Sedecias foedus cum omni populo in Jerusalem, praedicans
ቃለ፡ ዘኮነ፡ ኀበ፡ ኤርምያስ፡ እምኀበ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ እምዘ፡ አኅለቀ፡ ሴዴቅያስ፡ ንጉሥ፡ ኪዳነ፡ ኀበ፡ ኵሉ፡ አሕዛብ፡ ዘውስተ፡ ኢየሩሳሌም፡ ከመ፡ ይጸውዕ፡ ሎሙ፡ ኀድገተ።
The word came to Jeremiah from Yahweh, after King Zedekiah had made a covenant with all the people who were at Jerusalem, to proclaim liberty to them,
34:9
לְ֠שַׁלַּ֠ח אִ֣ישׁ אֶת־עַבְדּ֞וֹ וְאִ֧ישׁ אֶת־שִׁפְחָת֛וֹ הָעִבְרִ֥י וְהָעִבְרִיָּ֖ה חׇפְשִׁ֑ים לְבִלְתִּ֧י עֲבׇד־בָּ֛ם בִּיהוּדִ֥י אָחִ֖יהוּ אִֽישׁ׃
καὶ ὑμεῖς μὴ ἀκούετε τῶν ψευδοπροφητῶν ὑμῶν καὶ τῶν μαντευομένων ὑμῖν καὶ τῶν ἐνυπνιαζομένων ὑμῖν καὶ τῶν οἰωνισμάτων ὑμῶν καὶ τῶν φαρμακῶν ὑμῶν τῶν λεγόντων οὐ μὴ ἐργάσησθε τῷ βασιλεῖ Βαβυλῶνος
ut dimitteret unusquisque servum suum et unusquisque ancillam suam, Hebraeum et Hebraeam, liberos, et nequaquam dominarentur eis, id est, in Judaeo et fratre suo.
ከመ፡ ይፈኑ፡ ፩፩ገብሮ፡ ወ፩፩፡ አመቶ፡ ዕብራውያነ፡ ወዕብራውያተ፡ አግዐዝያነ፡ ከመ፡ ኢይቅኒ፡ ሰብእ፡ በይሁዳ፡ ብእሲ፡ እኅዋሁ።
that every man should let his male servant, and every man his female servant, who is a Hebrew or a Hebrewess, go free, that no one should make bondservants of them, of a Jew his brother.
34:10
וַיִּשְׁמְעוּ֩ כׇל־הַשָּׂרִ֨ים וְכׇל־הָעָ֜ם אֲשֶׁר־בָּ֣אוּ בַבְּרִ֗ית לְ֠שַׁלַּ֠ח אִ֣ישׁ אֶת־עַבְדּ֞וֹ וְאִ֤ישׁ אֶת־שִׁפְחָתוֹ֙ חׇפְשִׁ֔ים לְבִלְתִּ֥י עֲבׇד־בָּ֖ם ע֑וֹד וַֽיִּשְׁמְע֖וּ וַיְשַׁלֵּֽחוּ׃
ὅτι ψευδῆ αὐτοὶ προφητεύουσιν ὑμῖν πρὸς τὸ μακρῦναι ὑμᾶς ἀπὸ τῆς γῆς ὑμῶν
Audierunt ergo omnes principes et universus populus qui inierant pactum ut dimitteret unusquisque servum suum et unusquisque ancillam suam liberos, et ultra non dominarentur eis : audierunt igitur, et dimiserunt.
ወሰምዑ፡ ኵሉ፡ ዓበይት፡ ወኵሉ፡ ሕዝብ፡ እለ፡ ቦኡ፡ ውስተ፡ ኪዳን፡ ይፈኑ፡ ፩፩ገብሮ፡ ወ፩፩አመቶ፡ አግዐዝያነ፡ ከመ፡ ኢይቅንይዎሙ፡ እንከ፡ ወሰምዑ፡ ወፈነዉ።
All the princes and all the people obeyed who had entered into the covenant, that everyone should let his male servant and everyone his female servant go free, that no one should make bondservants of them any more. They obeyed and let them go,
34:11
וַיָּשׁ֙וּבוּ֙ אַחֲרֵי־כֵ֔ן וַיָּשִׁ֗בוּ אֶת־הָֽעֲבָדִים֙ וְאֶת־הַשְּׁפָח֔וֹת אֲשֶׁ֥ר שִׁלְּח֖וּ חׇפְשִׁ֑ים (ויכבישום) [וַֽיִּכְבְּשׁ֔וּם] לַעֲבָדִ֖ים וְלִשְׁפָחֽוֹת׃ {פ}
καὶ τὸ ἔθνος ὃ ἐὰν εἰσαγάγῃ τὸν τράχηλον αὐτοῦ ὑπὸ τὸν ζυγὸν βασιλέως Βαβυλῶνος καὶ ἐργάσηται αὐτῷ καὶ καταλείψω αὐτὸν ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐργᾶται αὐτῷ καὶ ἐνοικήσει ἐν αὐτῇ
Et conversi sunt deinceps : et retraxerunt servos et ancillas suas quos dimiserant liberos, et subjugaverunt in famulos et famulas.
ወተመይጡ፡ እንድኅረዝ፡ ወሜጡ፡ አግብርቲሆሙ፡ ወአእማቲሆሙ፡ እለ፡ ፈነውዎሙ፡ አግዐዝያነ፡ ወገቢኦሙ፡ ረሰይዎሙ፡ አግብርተ፡ ወአእማተ።
but afterwards they turned, and caused the servants and the handmaids whom they had let go free to return, and brought them into subjection for servants and for handmaids.
34:12
וַיְהִ֤י דְבַר־יְהֹוָה֙ אֶֽל־יִרְמְיָ֔הוּ מֵאֵ֥ת יְהֹוָ֖ה לֵאמֹֽר׃
καὶ πρὸς Σεδεκιαν βασιλέα Ιουδα ἐλάλησα κατὰ πάντας τοὺς λόγους τούτους λέγων εἰσαγάγετε τὸν τράχηλον ὑμῶν
Et factum est verbum Domini ad Jeremiam a Domino, dicens :
ወኮነ፡ ቃለ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ኀበ፡ ኤርምያስ፡ ወይቤ።
Therefore Yahweh’s word came to Jeremiah from Yahweh, saying,
34:13
כֹּה־אָמַ֥ר יְהֹוָ֖ה אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל אָנֹכִ֗י כָּרַ֤תִּֽי בְרִית֙ אֶת־אֲב֣וֹתֵיכֶ֔ם בְּי֨וֹם הוֹצִאִ֤י אוֹתָם֙ מֵאֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרַ֔יִם מִבֵּ֥ית עֲבָדִ֖ים לֵאמֹֽר׃
—
Haec dicit Dominus Deus Israël : Ego percussi foedus cum patribus vestris in die qua eduxi eos de terra Aegypti, de domo servitutis, dicens :
ከመዝ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ አምላከ፡ እስራኤል፡ አነ፡ ሤምኩ፡ ኪዳነ፡ ኀበ፡ አበዊክሙ፡ በዕለተ፡ አውፃእክዎሙ፡ እምድረ፡ ግብጽ፡ እምቤተ፡ ቅኔ፡ ወእቤ።
“Yahweh, the God of Israel, says: ‘I made a covenant with your fathers in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage, saying:
34:14
מִקֵּ֣ץ שֶׁ֣בַע שָׁנִ֡ים תְּֽשַׁלְּח֡וּ אִישׁ֩ אֶת־אָחִ֨יו הָעִבְרִ֜י אֲשֶֽׁר־יִמָּכֵ֣ר לְךָ֗ וַעֲבָֽדְךָ֙ שֵׁ֣שׁ שָׁנִ֔ים וְשִׁלַּחְתּ֥וֹ חׇפְשִׁ֖י מֵעִמָּ֑ךְ וְלֹֽא־שָׁמְע֤וּ אֲבֽוֹתֵיכֶם֙ אֵלַ֔י וְלֹ֥א הִטּ֖וּ אֶת־אׇזְנָֽם׃
καὶ ἐργάσασθε τῷ βασιλεῖ Βαβυλῶνος ὅτι ἄδικα αὐτοὶ προφητεύουσιν ὑμῖν
Cum completi fuerint septem anni, dimittat unusquisque fratrem suum Hebraeum, qui venditus est ei : et serviet tibi sex annis, et dimittes eum a te liberum : et non audierunt patres vestri me, nec inclinaverunt aurem suam.
አመ፡ መልአ፡ ፮ዓመት፡ ትፌኑ፡ እኅዋከ፡ ዕብራዌ፡ ዘተሠይጠ፡ ለከ፡ ወይትቀነይ፡ ለከ፡ ፮ዓመተ፡ ወትፌንዎ፡ አግዐዜ፡ እምኀቤከ፡ ወኢሰምዑኒ፡ አበዊክሙ፡ ወኢያጽምዑኒ፡ በእዝኖሙ።
At the end of seven years, every man of you shall release his brother who is a Hebrew, who has been sold to you, and has served you six years. You shall let him go free from you. But your fathers didn’t listen to me, and didn’t incline their ear.
34:15
וַתָּשֻׁ֨בוּ אַתֶּ֜ם הַיּ֗וֹם וַתַּעֲשׂ֤וּ אֶת־הַיָּשָׁר֙ בְּעֵינַ֔י לִקְרֹ֥א דְר֖וֹר אִ֣ישׁ לְרֵעֵ֑הוּ וַתִּכְרְת֤וּ בְרִית֙ לְפָנַ֔י בַּבַּ֕יִת אֲשֶׁר־נִקְרָ֥א שְׁמִ֖י עָלָֽיו׃
ὅτι οὐκ ἀπέστειλα αὐτούς φησὶν κύριος καὶ προφητεύουσιν τῷ ὀνόματί μου ἐπ’ ἀδίκῳ πρὸς τὸ ἀπολέσαι ὑμᾶς καὶ ἀπολεῖσθε ὑμεῖς καὶ οἱ προφῆται ὑμῶν οἱ προφητεύοντες ὑμῖν ἐπ’ ἀδίκῳ ψευδῆ
Et conversi estis vos hodie, et fecistis quod rectum est in oculis meis, ut praedicaretis libertatem unusquisque ad amicum suum : et inistis pactum in conspectu meo, in domo in qua invocatum est nomen meum super eam :
ወተመየጥክሙ፡ አንትሙ፡ ዮም፡ ለገቢረ፡ ርትዕ፡ በቅድመ፡ አዕይንትየ፡ ከመ፡ ትጼውዑ፡ ኅድገተ፡ ፩፩ለቢጹ፡ ወኀልቀ፡ ኪዳን፡ በቤት፡ ዘተሰምየ፡ ስምየ፡ ዲቤሁ።
You had now turned, and had done that which is right in my eyes, in every man proclaiming liberty to his neighbor. You had made a covenant before me in the house which is called by my name;
34:16
וַתָּשֻׁ֙בוּ֙ וַתְּחַלְּל֣וּ אֶת־שְׁמִ֔י וַתָּשִׁ֗בוּ אִ֤ישׁ אֶת־עַבְדּוֹ֙ וְאִ֣ישׁ אֶת־שִׁפְחָת֔וֹ אֲשֶׁר־שִׁלַּחְתֶּ֥ם חׇפְשִׁ֖ים לְנַפְשָׁ֑ם וַתִּכְבְּשׁ֣וּ אֹתָ֔ם לִֽהְי֣וֹת לָכֶ֔ם לַעֲבָדִ֖ים וְלִשְׁפָחֽוֹת׃ {ס}
ὑμῖν καὶ παντὶ τῷ λαῷ τούτῳ καὶ τοῖς ἱερεῦσιν ἐλάλησα λέγων οὕτως εἶπεν κύριος μὴ ἀκούετε τῶν λόγων τῶν προφητῶν τῶν προφητευόντων ὑμῖν λεγόντων ἰδοὺ σκεύη οἴκου κυρίου ἐπιστρέψει ἐκ Βαβυλῶνος ὅτι ἄδικα αὐτοὶ προφητεύουσιν ὑμῖν οὐκ ἀπέστειλα αὐτούς
et reversi estis, et commaculastis nomen meum, et reduxistis unusquisque servum suum et unusquisque ancillam suam quos dimiseratis ut essent liberi et suae potestatis, et subjugastis eos ut sint vobis servi et ancillae.
ወገባዕክሙ፡ ወአርኰስክሙ፡ ስምየ፡ ከመ፡ ያግብእ፡ ፩፩ቊልዔሁ፡ ወ፩፩ወለቶ፡ ዘፈነውክሙ፡ ግዑዛነ፡ ለነፍሶሙ፡ ወሜጥክምዎሙ፡ ከመ፡ ይኩኑክሙ፡ አግበርተ፡ ወአእማተ።
but you turned and profaned my name, and every man caused his servant and every man his handmaid, whom you had let go free at their pleasure, to return. You brought them into subjection, to be to you for servants and for handmaids.’”
34:17
לָכֵן֮ כֹּה־אָמַ֣ר יְהֹוָה֒ אַתֶּם֙ לֹא־שְׁמַעְתֶּ֣ם אֵלַ֔י לִקְרֹ֣א דְר֔וֹר אִ֥ישׁ לְאָחִ֖יו וְאִ֣ישׁ לְרֵעֵ֑הוּ הִנְנִ֣י קֹרֵא֩ לָכֶ֨ם דְּר֜וֹר נְאֻם־יְהֹוָ֗ה אֶל־הַחֶ֙רֶב֙ אֶל־הַדֶּ֣בֶר וְאֶל־הָרָעָ֔ב וְנָתַתִּ֤י אֶתְכֶם֙ (לזועה) [לְזַעֲוָ֔ה] לְכֹ֖ל מַמְלְכ֥וֹת הָאָֽרֶץ׃
—
Propterea haec dicit Dominus : Vos non audistis me, ut praedicaretis libertatem unusquisque fratri suo et unusquisque amico suo : ecce ego praedico vobis libertatem, ait Dominus, ad gladium, ad pestem, et ad famem, et dabo vos in commotionem cunctis regnis terrae.
በእንተ፡ ዝንቱ፡ ከመዝ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ኢሰማዕክሙኒ፡ አንትሙኒ፡ ከመ፡ ትጸውዑ፡ ኅድገተ፡ ፩፩ለእኁሁ፡ ወ፩፩ለበጹ፡ ናሁ፡ አነ፡ እጼውዕ፡ ለክሙ፡ ኅደገተ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ውስተ፡ ኵናት፡ ወውስተ፡ ሞት፡ ወውስተ፡ ረኃብ፡ ወእዘርወክሙ፡ ውስተ፡ ኵሉ፡ ነገሥተ፡ ምድር።
Therefore Yahweh says: “You have not listened to me, to proclaim liberty, every man to his brother, and every man to his neighbor. Behold, I proclaim to you a liberty,” says Yahweh, “to the sword, to the pestilence, and to the famine. I will make you be tossed back and forth among all the kingdoms of the earth.
34:18
וְנָתַתִּ֣י אֶת־הָאֲנָשִׁ֗ים הָעֹֽבְרִים֙ אֶת־בְּרִתִ֔י אֲשֶׁ֤ר לֹא־הֵקִ֙ימוּ֙ אֶת־דִּבְרֵ֣י הַבְּרִ֔ית אֲשֶׁ֥ר כָּרְת֖וּ לְפָנָ֑י הָעֵ֙גֶל֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר כָּרְת֣וּ לִשְׁנַ֔יִם וַיַּעַבְר֖וּ בֵּ֥ין בְּתָרָֽיו׃
εἰ προφῆταί εἰσιν καὶ εἰ ἔστιν λόγος κυρίου ἐν αὐτοῖς ἀπαντησάτωσάν μοι
Et dabo viros qui praevaricantur foedus meum, et non observaverunt verba foederis quibus assensi sunt in conspectu meo, vitulum quem conciderunt in duas partes, et transierunt inter divisiones ejus,
ወእሁቦሙ፡ ለዕደው፡ እለ፡ ተዐደዉ፡ ኪዳንየ፡ እለ፡ ኢያቀውሙ፡ ቃለ፡ ኪዳንየ፡ ዘተካየዱ፡ ቅድመ፡ ገጽየ፡ ወላህመ፡ ዘመተሩ፡ ለ፪፡ ወኀለፉ፡ እንተ፡ ማእከለ፡ መክፈልቱ።
I will give the men who have transgressed my covenant, who have not performed the words of the covenant which they made before me when they cut the calf in two and passed between its parts:
34:19
שָׂרֵ֨י יְהוּדָ֜ה וְשָׂרֵ֣י יְרוּשָׁלַ֗͏ִם הַסָּֽרִסִים֙ וְהַכֹּ֣הֲנִ֔ים וְכֹ֖ל עַ֣ם הָאָ֑רֶץ הָעֹ֣בְרִ֔ים בֵּ֖ין בִּתְרֵ֥י הָעֵֽגֶל׃
ὅτι οὕτως εἶπεν κύριος καὶ τῶν ἐπιλοίπων σκευῶν
principes Juda et principes Jerusalem, eunuchi et sacerdotes, et omnis populus terrae, qui transierunt inter divisiones vituli :
መላእክተ፡ ይሁዳ፡ ወመላእክተ፡ ኢየሩሳሌም፡ ሕፅዋን፡ ወካህናት፡ ወኵሉ፡ ሕዝበ፡ ምድር፡ እለ፡ ኀለፉ፡ እንተ፡ ማእከለ፡ መክፈልቱ፡ ለላህም።
the princes of Judah, the princes of Jerusalem, the eunuchs, the priests, and all the people of the land, who passed between the parts of the calf.
34:20
וְנָתַתִּ֤י אוֹתָם֙ בְּיַ֣ד אֹֽיְבֵיהֶ֔ם וּבְיַ֖ד מְבַקְשֵׁ֣י נַפְשָׁ֑ם וְהָיְתָ֤ה נִבְלָתָם֙ לְמַֽאֲכָ֔ל לְע֥וֹף הַשָּׁמַ֖יִם וּלְבֶהֱמַ֥ת הָאָֽרֶץ׃
ὧν οὐκ ἔλαβεν βασιλεὺς Βαβυλῶνος ὅτε ἀπῴκισεν τὸν Ιεχονιαν ἐξ Ιερουσαλημ
et dabo eos in manus inimicorum suorum, et in manus quaerentium animam eorum, et erit morticinum eorum in escam volatilibus caeli et bestiis terrae.
ወእሁቦሙ፡ ውስተ፡ እደ፡ እለ፡ የኀሥሥዋ፡ ለነፍሶሙ፡ ወውስተ፡ እደ፡ ፀሮሙ፡ ወእሁቦሙ፡ አብድንቲሆሙ፡ መብልዓ፡ ለአዕዋፈ፡ ሰማይ፡ ወለአራዊተ፡ ገዳም።
I will even give them into the hand of their enemies and into the hand of those who seek their life. Their dead bodies will be food for the birds of the sky and for the animals of the earth.
34:21
וְאֶת־צִדְקִיָּ֨הוּ מֶלֶךְ־יְהוּדָ֜ה וְאֶת־שָׂרָ֗יו אֶתֵּן֙ בְּיַ֣ד אֹֽיְבֵיהֶ֔ם וּבְיַ֖ד מְבַקְשֵׁ֣י נַפְשָׁ֑ם וּבְיַ֗ד חֵ֚יל מֶ֣לֶךְ בָּבֶ֔ל הָעֹלִ֖ים מֵעֲלֵיכֶֽם׃
—
Et Sedeciam regem Juda, et principes ejus, dabo in manus inimicorum suorum, et in manus quaerentium animas eorum, et in manus exercituum regis Babylonis, qui recesserunt a vobis.
ወለሴዴቅያስ፡ ንጉሠ፡ ይሁዳ፡ ወለመላእክቲሁ፡ እሁቦሙ፡ ውስተ፡ እደ፡ ፀሮሙ፡ ወውስተ፡ እደ፡ እለ፡ የኃሥሥዋ፡ ለነፍሶሙ፡ ወውስተ፡ እደ፡ ኃይለ፡ ንጉሠ፡ ባቢሎን፡ እለ፡ ዐርጉ፡ እምላዕሌክሙ።
“I will give Zedekiah king of Judah and his princes into the hands of their enemies, into the hands of those who seek their life and into the hands of the king of Babylon’s army, who has gone away from you.
34:22
הִנְנִ֨י מְצַוֶּ֜ה נְאֻם־יְהֹוָ֗ה וַהֲשִׁ֨בֹתִ֜ים אֶל־הָעִ֤יר הַזֹּאת֙ וְנִלְחֲמ֣וּ עָלֶ֔יהָ וּלְכָד֖וּהָ וּשְׂרָפֻ֣הָ בָאֵ֑שׁ וְאֶת־עָרֵ֧י יְהוּדָ֛ה אֶתֵּ֥ן שְׁמָמָ֖ה מֵאֵ֥ין יֹשֵֽׁב׃ {פ}
εἰς Βαβυλῶνα εἰσελεύσεται λέγει κύριος
Ecce ego praecipio, dicit Dominus, et reducam eos in civitatem hanc, et praeliabuntur adversus eam, et capient eam, et incendent igni : et civitates Juda dabo in solitudinem, eo quod non sit habitator.
ናሁ፡ አነ፡ እኤዝዝ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ወአገብኦሙ፡ በዛቲ፡ ምድር፡ ወይጸብእዋ፡ ወይነሥኡ፡ ኪያሃ፡ ወያውዕይዋ፡ በእሳት፡ ወለአህጉረ፡ ይሁዳሂ፡ እሁቦን፡ ለአብድዎ፡ እምእለ፡ ይነብሩ።
Behold, I will command,” says Yahweh, “and cause them to return to this city. They will fight against it, take it, and burn it with fire. I will make the cities of Judah a desolation, without inhabitant.”
