17:1
חַטַּ֣את יְהוּדָ֗ה כְּתוּבָ֛ה בְּעֵ֥ט בַּרְזֶ֖ל בְּצִפֹּ֣רֶן שָׁמִ֑יר חֲרוּשָׁה֙ עַל־ל֣וּחַ לִבָּ֔ם וּלְקַרְנ֖וֹת מִזְבְּחוֹתֵיכֶֽם׃
—
Peccatum Juda scriptum est stylo ferreo in ungue adamantino, exaratum super latitudinem cordis eorum, et in cornibus ararum eorum.
ኀጢአታ፡ ለይሁዳ፡ ጽሑፍ፡ በቀለመ፡ ሐፂን፡ ውስተ፡ ሠሌዳ፡ ዕብን፡ ወግሉፍ፡ ውስተ፡ ጽሌ፡ ልቦሙ፡ ወበአቅርንት፡ ምሥዋዒሆሙ።
“The sin of Judah is written with a pen of iron, and with the point of a diamond. It is engraved on the tablet of their heart, and on the horns of your altars.
17:2
כִּזְכֹּ֤ר בְּנֵיהֶם֙ מִזְבְּחוֹתָ֔ם וַאֲשֵׁרֵיהֶ֖ם עַל־עֵ֣ץ רַעֲנָ֑ן עַ֖ל גְּבָע֥וֹת הַגְּבֹהֽוֹת׃
—
Cum recordati fuerint filii eorum ararum suarum, et lucorum suorum, lignorumque frondentium, in montibus excelsis,
እሰከ፡ ይዜከሩ፡ ደቂቆሙ፡ ምሥዋዒሆሙ፡ ወምሕራማቲሆሙ፡ ውስተ፡ ዕፅ፡ ዘቦ፡ ጽላሎት፡ ዲበ፡ አውግር፡ ልዑላት፡ ወአድባረ፡ ገዳም።
Even their children remember their altars and their Asherah poles by the green trees on the high hills.
17:3
הֲרָרִי֙ בַּשָּׂדֶ֔ה חֵילְךָ֥ כׇל־אוֹצְרוֹתֶ֖יךָ לָבַ֣ז אֶתֵּ֑ן בָּמֹתֶ֕יךָ בְּחַטָּ֖את בְּכׇל־גְּבוּלֶֽיךָ׃
—
sacrificantes in agro : fortitudinem tuam, et omnes thesauros tuos in direptionem dabo ; excelsa tua propter peccata in universis finibus tuis.
ኀይለከ፡ ኵሎ፡ ወመዛግብቲከ፡ ለተበርብሮ፡ እሁብ፡ ወአውግረ፡ ጣዖትከ፡ በኀጢአትከ፡ ወለኵሉ፡ አድዋሊከ።
My mountain in the field, I will give your substance and all your treasures for a plunder, and your high places, because of sin, throughout all your borders.
17:4
וְשָׁמַטְתָּ֗ה וּבְךָ֙ מִנַּחֲלָֽתְךָ֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר נָתַ֣תִּי לָ֔ךְ וְהַעֲבַדְתִּ֙יךָ֙ אֶת־אֹ֣יְבֶ֔יךָ בָּאָ֖רֶץ אֲשֶׁ֣ר לֹא־יָדָ֑עְתָּ כִּֽי־אֵ֛שׁ קְדַחְתֶּ֥ם בְּאַפִּ֖י עַד־עוֹלָ֥ם תּוּקָֽד׃ {ס}
—
Et relinqueris sola ab haereditate tua, quam dedi tibi, et servire te faciam inimicis tuis in terra quam ignoras : quoniam ignem succendisti in furore meo : usque in aeternum ardebit.
ወተኀልቅ፡ እም፡ ርስትከ፡ ዘወሀብኩከ፡ ለከ፡ ወአቀንየከ፡ ለፀርከ፡ ውውስተ፡ ምድር፡ ዘኢትአምር፡ እስመ፡ እሳት፡ ትነድድ፡ በመዓትየ፡ እሰከ፡ ለዓለም።
You, even of yourself, will discontinue from your heritage that I gave you. I will cause you to serve your enemies in the land which you don’t know, for you have kindled a fire in my anger which will burn forever.”
17:5
כֹּ֣ה׀ אָמַ֣ר יְהֹוָ֗ה אָר֤וּר הַגֶּ֙בֶר֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר יִבְטַ֣ח בָּאָדָ֔ם וְשָׂ֥ם בָּשָׂ֖ר זְרֹע֑וֹ וּמִן־יְהֹוָ֖ה יָס֥וּר לִבּֽוֹ׃
ἐπικατάρατος ὁ ἄνθρωπος ὃς τὴν ἐλπίδα ἔχει ἐπ’ ἄνθρωπον καὶ στηρίσει σάρκα βραχίονος αὐτοῦ ἐπ’ αὐτόν καὶ ἀπὸ κυρίου ἀποστῇ ἡ καρδία αὐτοῦ
Haec dicit Dominus : Maledictus homo qui confidit in homine, et ponit carnem brachium suum, et a Domino recedit cor ejus.
ከመዝ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ርጉመ፡ ለይኩን፡ ኵሉ፡ ሰብእ፡ ዘይትአመን፡ በእጓለእመሕያው፡ ወያሰምክ፡ መዝራዕቶ፡ ቦቱ፡ ወእምእግዚአብሔር፡ ይርኅቅ፡ ልቡ።
Yahweh says: “Cursed is the man who trusts in man, relies on strength of flesh, and whose heart departs from Yahweh.
17:6
וְהָיָה֙ כְּעַרְעָ֣ר בָּעֲרָבָ֔ה וְלֹ֥א יִרְאֶ֖ה כִּֽי־יָ֣בוֹא ט֑וֹב וְשָׁכַ֤ן חֲרֵרִים֙ בַּמִּדְבָּ֔ר אֶ֥רֶץ מְלֵחָ֖ה וְלֹ֥א תֵשֵֽׁב׃ {ס}
καὶ ἔσται ὡς ἡ ἀγριομυρίκη ἡ ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ οὐκ ὄψεται ὅταν ἔλθῃ τὰ ἀγαθά καὶ κατασκηνώσει ἐν ἁλίμοις καὶ ἐν ἐρήμῳ ἐν γῇ ἁλμυρᾷ ἥτις οὐ κατοικεῖται
Erit enim quasi myricae in deserto, et non videbit cum venerit bonum : sed habitabit in siccitate in deserto, in terra salsuginis et inhabitabili.
ወይከውን፡ ከመ፡ ኳሄላ፡ በውስተ፡ ገዳም፡ ወኢይሬኢ፡ ሠናየ፡ ሶበ፡ ይመጽእ።
For he will be like a bush in the desert, and will not see when good comes, but will inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, an uninhabited salt land.
17:7
בָּר֣וּךְ הַגֶּ֔בֶר אֲשֶׁ֥ר יִבְטַ֖ח בַּיהֹוָ֑ה וְהָיָ֥ה יְהֹוָ֖ה מִבְטַחֽוֹ׃
καὶ εὐλογημένος ὁ ἄνθρωπος ὃς πέποιθεν ἐπὶ τῷ κυρίῳ καὶ ἔσται κύριος ἐλπὶς αὐτοῦ
Benedictus vir qui confidit in Domino, et erit Dominus fiducia ejus.
ወቡሩክ፡ ብእሲ፡ ዘይትዌከል፡ በእግዚአብሔር፡ ወእግዚአብሄር፡ ተስፋሁ፡ ይከውን።
“Blessed is the man who trusts in Yahweh, and whose confidence is in Yahweh.
17:8
וְהָיָ֞ה כְּעֵ֣ץ׀ שָׁת֣וּל עַל־מַ֗יִם וְעַל־יוּבַל֙ יְשַׁלַּ֣ח שׇׁרָשָׁ֔יו וְלֹ֤א (ירא) [יִרְאֶה֙] כִּי־יָ֣בֹא חֹ֔ם וְהָיָ֥ה עָלֵ֖הוּ רַעֲנָ֑ן וּבִשְׁנַ֤ת בַּצֹּ֙רֶת֙ לֹ֣א יִדְאָ֔ג וְלֹ֥א יָמִ֖ישׁ מֵעֲשׂ֥וֹת פֶּֽרִי׃
καὶ ἔσται ὡς ξύλον εὐθηνοῦν παρ’ ὕδατα καὶ ἐπὶ ἰκμάδα βαλεῖ ῥίζας αὐτοῦ καὶ οὐ φοβηθήσεται ὅταν ἔλθῃ καῦμα καὶ ἔσται ἐπ’ αὐτῷ στελέχη ἀλσώδη ἐν ἐνιαυτῷ ἀβροχίας οὐ φοβηθήσεται καὶ οὐ διαλείψει ποιῶν καρπόν
Et erit quasi lignum quod transplantatur super aquas, quod ad humorem mittit radices suas, et non timebit cum venerit aestus : et erit folium ejus viride, et in tempore siccitatis non erit sollicitum, nec aliquando desinet facere fructum.
ወይከውን፡ ከመ፡ ዕፅ፡ እንተ፡ ትክልት፡ ኀበ፡ ሙኀዘ፡ ማይ፡ ወይጸንዕ፡ ሥርዉ፡ ወኢይፈፈርህ፡ ሶበ፡ ይመጽእ፡ ሐሩረ፡ ወኢይከውን፡ ንጉፈ፡ ቆጽለ፡ አዕጹቂሁ፡ በዓመተ፡ ዓባርኢይፈርህ፡ ወኢያንቀለቅል፡ ወኢያነትግ፡ ፈረየ።
For he will be as a tree planted by the waters, who spreads out its roots by the river, and will not fear when heat comes, but its leaf will be green, and will not be concerned in the year of drought. It won’t cease from yielding fruit.
17:9
עָקֹ֥ב הַלֵּ֛ב מִכֹּ֖ל וְאָנֻ֣שׁ ה֑וּא מִ֖י יֵדָעֶֽנּוּ׃
βαθεῖα ἡ καρδία παρὰ πάντα καὶ ἄνθρωπός ἐστιν καὶ τίς γνώσεται αὐτόν
Pravum est cor omnium, et inscrutabile : quis cognoscet illud ?
ዕሙቅ፡ ልቡ፡ እምኵሉ፡ ሰብእ፡ ወመኑ፡ የአምሮ።
The heart is deceitful above all things and it is exceedingly corrupt. Who can know it?
17:10
אֲנִ֧י יְהֹוָ֛ה חֹקֵ֥ר לֵ֖ב בֹּחֵ֣ן כְּלָי֑וֹת וְלָתֵ֤ת לְאִישׁ֙ כִּדְרָכָ֔ו כִּפְרִ֖י מַעֲלָלָֽיו׃ {ס}
ἐγὼ κύριος ἐτάζων καρδίας καὶ δοκιμάζων νεφροὺς τοῦ δοῦναι ἑκάστῳ κατὰ τὰς ὁδοὺς αὐτοῦ καὶ κατὰ τοὺς καρποὺς τῶν ἐπιτηδευμάτων αὐτοῦ
Ego Dominus scrutans cor, et probans renes : qui do unicuique juxta viam suam, et juxta fructum adinventionum suarum.
አነ፡ እግዚእበሔር፡ ዘእሬኢ፡ ልበ፡ ወእፈትን፡ ወኵልያተ፡ ከመአሀቡ፡ ለለአሐዱ፡ በከመ፡ ፍነኖቱ፡ ወበከመ፡ ፍሬ፡ ምግባሩ።
“I, Yahweh, search the mind. I try the heart, even to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his doings.”
17:11
קֹרֵ֤א דָגַר֙ וְלֹ֣א יָלָ֔ד עֹ֥שֶׂה עֹ֖שֶׁר וְלֹ֣א בְמִשְׁפָּ֑ט בַּחֲצִ֤י יָמָו֙ יַעַזְבֶ֔נּוּ וּבְאַחֲרִית֖וֹ יִהְיֶ֥ה נָבָֽל׃
ἐφώνησεν πέρδιξ συνήγαγεν ἃ οὐκ ἔτεκεν ποιῶν πλοῦτον αὐτοῦ οὐ μετὰ κρίσεως ἐν ἡμίσει ἡμερῶν αὐτοῦ ἐγκαταλείψουσιν αὐτόν καὶ ἐπ’ ἐσχάτων αὐτοῦ ἔσται ἄφρων
Perdix fovit quae non peperit : fecit divitias, et non in judicio : in dimidio dierum suorum derelinquet eas, et in novissimo suo erit insipiens.
ነቀወት፡ ቆቃህ፡ ወአስተጋብአት፡ ወኢወለደት፡ ዘይገብር፡ ብዕሎ፡ ዘዘእንበለ፡ ጽድቅ፡ የኀግጎ፡ በመንፈቀ፡ መዋዕሊሁ፡ ወይከውን፡ አብደ፡ በደኀሪቱ።
As the partridge that sits on eggs which she has not laid, so is he who gets riches, and not by right. In the middle of his days, they will leave him. At his end, he will be a fool.
17:12
כִּסֵּ֣א כָב֔וֹד מָר֖וֹם מֵרִאשׁ֑וֹן מְק֖וֹם מִקְדָּשֵֽׁנוּ׃
θρόνος δόξης ὑψωμένος ἁγίασμα ἡμῶν
Solium gloriae altitudinis a principio, locus sanctificationis nostrae.
መንበረ፡ ክብር፡ ልዑል፡ እምልዑላን፡ መካነ፡ መቅደስነ።
A glorious throne, set on high from the beginning, is the place of our sanctuary.
17:13
מִקְוֵ֤ה יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ יְהֹוָ֔ה כׇּל־עֹזְבֶ֖יךָ יֵבֹ֑שׁוּ (יסורי) [וְסוּרַי֙] בָּאָ֣רֶץ יִכָּתֵ֔בוּ כִּ֥י עָזְב֛וּ מְק֥וֹר מַֽיִם־חַיִּ֖ים אֶת־יְהֹוָֽה׃ {פ}
ὑπομονὴ Ισραηλ κύριε πάντες οἱ καταλιπόντες σε καταισχυνθήτωσαν ἀφεστηκότες ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς γραφήτωσαν ὅτι ἐγκατέλιπον πηγὴν ζωῆς τὸν κύριον
Exspectatio Israël, Domine, omnes qui te derelinquunt confundentur : recedentes a te, in terra scribentur, quoniam dereliquerunt venam aquarum viventium Dominum.
ተስፋሁ፡ ለእስራኤል፡ እግዚኦ፡ ኵሎሙ፡ እለ፡ ኀደጉከ፡ ተኀፍሩ፡ ወተገሠጹ፡ ዓላውያን፡ ውስተ፡ ምድር፡ ወተጽሕፉ፡ እለ፡ ኀደግዎ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር፡ ነቅዐ፡ ማ፡ ሕይወት።
Yahweh, the hope of Israel, all who forsake you will be disappointed. Those who depart from me will be written in the earth, because they have forsaken Yahweh, the spring of living waters.
17:14
רְפָאֵ֤נִי יְהֹוָה֙ וְאֵ֣רָפֵ֔א הוֹשִׁיעֵ֖נִי וְאִוָּשֵׁ֑עָה כִּ֥י תְהִלָּתִ֖י אָֽתָּה׃
ἴασαί με κύριε καὶ ἰαθήσομαι σῶσόν με καὶ σωθήσομαι ὅτι καύχημά μου σὺ εἶ
Sana me, Domine, et sanabor : salvum me fac, et salvus ero : quoniam laus mea tu es.
ተሠሃለኒ፡ እግዚኦ፡ ይቤ፡ ነቢይ፡ ወአሕይወኒ፡ ወአድኅነኒ፡ ወእድኅን፡ እስመ፡ አንተ፡ ምህክየ።
Heal me, O Yahweh, and I will be healed. Save me, and I will be saved; for you are my praise.
17:15
הִנֵּה־הֵ֕מָּה אֹמְרִ֖ים אֵלָ֑י אַיֵּ֥ה דְבַר־יְהֹוָ֖ה יָ֥בוֹא נָֽא׃
ἰδοὺ αὐτοὶ λέγουσι πρός με ποῦ ἐστιν ὁ λόγος κυρίου ἐλθάτω
Ecce ipsi dicunt ad me : Ubi est verbum Domini ? veniat :
ናሁ፡ ይብሉኒ፡ እሙንቱ፡ አይቴኑመ፡ ቃለ፡ እግዚአብሔር።
Behold, they ask me, “Where is Yahweh’s word? Let it be fulfilled now.”
17:16
וַאֲנִ֞י לֹא־אַ֣צְתִּי׀ מֵרֹעֶ֣ה אַחֲרֶ֗יךָ וְי֥וֹם אָנ֛וּשׁ לֹ֥א הִתְאַוֵּ֖יתִי אַתָּ֣ה יָדָ֑עְתָּ מוֹצָ֣א שְׂפָתַ֔י נֹ֥כַח פָּנֶ֖יךָ הָיָֽה׃
ἐγὼ δὲ οὐκ ἐκοπίασα κατακολουθῶν ὀπίσω σου καὶ ἡμέραν ἀνθρώπου οὐκ ἐπεθύμησα σὺ ἐπίστῃ τὰ ἐκπορευόμενα διὰ τῶν χειλέων μου πρὸ προσώπου σού ἐστιν
et ego non sum turbatus, te pastorem sequens : et diem hominis non desideravi, tu scis : quod egressum est de labiis meis, rectum in conspectu tuo fuit.
አንሰ፡ ኢደከምኩ፡ እንዘ፡ እትሉ፡ ድኅሬከ፡ ወኢያፍተወኒ፡ መዋዕለ፡ ሰብእ፡ ለሊከ፡ ተአምር፡ ዘይወፅእ፡ እም፡ ከናፍርየ፡ ቅድመ፡ ገጽከ፡ ውእቱ።
As for me, I have not hurried from being a shepherd after you. I haven’t desired the woeful day. You know. That which came out of my lips was before your face.
17:17
אַל־תִּֽהְיֵה־לִ֖י לִמְחִתָּ֑ה מַחֲסִי־אַ֖תָּה בְּי֥וֹם רָעָֽה׃
μὴ γενηθῇς μοι εἰς ἀλλοτρίωσιν φειδόμενός μου ἐν ἡμέρᾳ πονηρᾷ
Non sis tu mihi formidini : spes mea tu in die afflictionis.
ወኢይኩነኒ፡ ሊተ፡ ተናክሮ።
Don’t be a terror to me. You are my refuge in the day of evil.
17:18
יֵבֹ֤שׁוּ רֹֽדְפַי֙ וְאַל־אֵבֹ֣שָׁה אָ֔נִי יֵחַ֣תּוּ הֵ֔מָּה וְאַל־אֵחַ֖תָּה אָ֑נִי הָבִ֤יא עֲלֵיהֶם֙ י֣וֹם רָעָ֔ה וּמִשְׁנֶ֥ה שִׁבָּר֖וֹן שׇׁבְרֵֽם׃ {ס}
καταισχυνθήτωσαν οἱ διώκοντές με καὶ μὴ καταισχυνθείην ἐγώ πτοηθείησαν αὐτοί καὶ μὴ πτοηθείην ἐγώ ἐπάγαγε ἐπ’ αὐτοὺς ἡμέραν πονηράν δισσὸν σύντριμμα σύντριψον αὐτούς
Confundantur qui me persequuntur, et non confundar ego : paveant illi, et non paveam ego : induc super eos diem afflictionis, et duplici contritione contere eos.
ለይትፈሩ፡ እለ፡ ይሰድዱኒ፡ ወአንሰ፡ ኢይትኀፈር፡ ለይደንግፁ፡ እሙንቱ፡ ወአንሰ፡ ኢይገንግፅ፡ አምጽእ፡ ላዕሌሆሙ፡ እለተ፡ እኪተ፡ በምክዕቢተ፡ ቅጥቃጤ፡ ቀጥቅጦሙ።
Let them be disappointed who persecute me, but don’t let me be disappointed. Let them be dismayed, but don’t let me be dismayed. Bring on them the day of evil, and destroy them with double destruction.
17:19
כֹּה־אָמַ֨ר יְהֹוָ֜ה אֵלַ֗י הָלֹ֤ךְ וְעָֽמַדְתָּ֙ בְּשַׁ֣עַר בְּנֵֽי־[הָעָ֔ם] (עם) אֲשֶׁ֨ר יָבֹ֤אוּ בוֹ֙ מַלְכֵ֣י יְהוּדָ֔ה וַאֲשֶׁ֖ר יֵ֣צְאוּ ב֑וֹ וּבְכֹ֖ל שַׁעֲרֵ֥י יְרוּשָׁלָֽ͏ִם׃
τάδε λέγει κύριος βάδισον καὶ στῆθι ἐν πύλαις υἱῶν λαοῦ σου ἐν αἷς εἰσπορεύονται ἐν αὐταῖς βασιλεῖς Ιουδα καὶ ἐν αἷς ἐκπορεύονται ἐν αὐταῖς καὶ ἐν πάσαις ταῖς πύλαις Ιερουσαλημ
Haec dicit Dominus ad me : Vade, et sta in porta filiorum populi, per quam ingrediuntur reges Juda, et egrediuntur, et in cunctis portis Jerusalem :
ከመዝ፡ ይቤለኒ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ሑር፡ ወቁም፡ ውስተ፡ አንቀጸ፡ ደቂቀ፡ ሕዝብከ፡ እንተ፡ ኀበ፡ ይበውኡ፡ ኵሉ፡ ነገሥተ፡ ይሁዳ፡ ወእንተ፡ ኀበ፡ ይወፅኡ፡ እምውስቴቶሙ፡ ወበውስቴቶሙ፡ አናቅጸ፡ ኢየሩሳሌም።
Yahweh said this to me: “Go and stand in the gate of the children of the people, through which the kings of Judah come in and by which they go out, and in all the gates of Jerusalem.
17:20
וְאָמַרְתָּ֣ אֲ֠לֵיהֶ֠ם שִׁמְע֨וּ דְבַר־יְהֹוָ֜ה מַלְכֵ֤י יְהוּדָה֙ וְכׇל־יְהוּדָ֔ה וְכֹ֖ל יֹשְׁבֵ֣י יְרוּשָׁלָ֑͏ִם הַבָּאִ֖ים בַּשְּׁעָרִ֥ים הָאֵֽלֶּה׃
καὶ ἐρεῖς πρὸς αὐτούς ἀκούσατε λόγον κυρίου βασιλεῖς Ιουδα καὶ πᾶσα Ιουδαία καὶ πᾶσα Ιερουσαλημ οἱ εἰσπορευόμενοι ἐν ταῖς πύλαις ταύταις
et dices ad eos : Audite verbum Domini, reges Juda, et omnis Juda, cunctique habitatores Jerusalem, qui ingredimini per portas istas.
ወበሎሙ፡ ስምዑ፡ ቃለ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ነገሥተ፡ ይሁዳ፡ ወኵሉ፡ እለ፡ ትነብሩ፡ ኢየሩሳሌም፡ ወእለ፡ ትበውኡ፡ ውስተ፡ ዛ፡ አንቀጽ።
Tell them, ‘Hear Yahweh’s word, you kings of Judah, all Judah, and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, that enter in by these gates:
17:21
כֹּ֚ה אָמַ֣ר יְהֹוָ֔ה הִשָּׁמְר֖וּ בְּנַפְשׁוֹתֵיכֶ֑ם וְאַל־תִּשְׂא֤וּ מַשָּׂא֙ בְּי֣וֹם הַשַּׁבָּ֔ת וַהֲבֵאתֶ֖ם בְּשַׁעֲרֵ֥י יְרֽוּשָׁלָֽ͏ִם׃
τάδε λέγει κύριος φυλάσσεσθε τὰς ψυχὰς ὑμῶν καὶ μὴ αἴρετε βαστάγματα ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ τῶν σαββάτων καὶ μὴ ἐκπορεύεσθε ταῖς πύλαις Ιερουσαλημ
Haec dicit Dominus : Custodite animas vestras, et nolite portare pondera in die sabbati, nec inferatis per portas Jerusalem :
ከመዝ፡ ይ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ዕቀቡ፡ ነፍስክሙ፡ ወኢታንሥኡ፡ ምንተኒ፡ ፆረ፡ ከረቡደ፡ በዕለተ፡ ሰንበት፡ ወኢታብኡ፡ እንተ፡ አናቅጸ፡ ኢየሩሳሌም።
Yahweh says, “Be careful, and bear no burden on the Sabbath day, nor bring it in by the gates of Jerusalem.
17:22
וְלֹא־תוֹצִ֨יאוּ מַשָּׂ֤א מִבָּֽתֵּיכֶם֙ בְּי֣וֹם הַשַּׁבָּ֔ת וְכׇל־מְלָאכָ֖ה לֹ֣א תַעֲשׂ֑וּ וְקִדַּשְׁתֶּם֙ אֶת־י֣וֹם הַשַּׁבָּ֔ת כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר צִוִּ֖יתִי אֶת־אֲבוֹתֵיכֶֽם׃
καὶ μὴ ἐκφέρετε βαστάγματα ἐξ οἰκιῶν ὑμῶν ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ τῶν σαββάτων καὶ πᾶν ἔργον οὐ ποιήσετε ἁγιάσατε τὴν ἡμέραν τῶν σαββάτων καθὼς ἐνετειλάμην τοῖς πατράσιν ὑμῶν καὶ οὐκ ἤκουσαν καὶ οὐκ ἔκλιναν τὸ οὖς αὐτῶν
et nolite ejicere onera de domibus vestris in die sabbati, et omne opus non facietis : sanctificate diem sabbati, sicut praecepi patribus vestris.
ወኢታውፅኢ፡ ፆረ፡ እምአብያቲክሙ፡ ነዕለተ፡ ሰንበታት፡ ወኵሎ፡ ግብረ፡ ኢትግበሩ፡ ወቀድሱ፡ ዕለተ፡ ሰንበታት፡ በከመ፡ አዘዝክዎሙ፡ ለአበዊክሙ።
Don’t carry a burden out of your houses on the Sabbath day. Don’t do any work, but make the Sabbath day holy, as I commanded your fathers.
17:23
וְלֹ֣א שָׁמְע֔וּ וְלֹ֥א הִטּ֖וּ אֶת־אׇזְנָ֑ם וַיַּקְשׁוּ֙ אֶת־עׇרְפָּ֔ם לְבִלְתִּ֣י (שומע) [שְׁמ֔וֹעַ] וּלְבִלְתִּ֖י קַ֥חַת מוּסָֽר׃
καὶ ἐσκλήρυναν τὸν τράχηλον αὐτῶν ὑπὲρ τοὺς πατέρας αὐτῶν τοῦ μὴ ἀκοῦσαί μου καὶ τοῦ μὴ δέξασθαι παιδείαν
Et non audierunt, nec inclinaverunt aurem suam : sed induraverunt cervicem suam, ne audirent me, et ne acciperent disciplinam.
ወኢሰምዑኒ፡ ወኢያጽምዑኒ፡ በእዘኒሆሙወአግዘፉ፡ ክሣዶሙ፡ ከመ፡ ኢይሰምዑኒ፡ ወአበዩ፡ ተግሣፅየ።
But they didn’t listen. They didn’t turn their ear, but made their neck stiff, that they might not hear, and might not receive instruction.
17:24
וְ֠הָיָ֠ה אִם־שָׁמֹ֨עַ תִּשְׁמְע֤וּן אֵלַי֙ נְאֻם־יְהֹוָ֔ה לְבִלְתִּ֣י׀ הָבִ֣יא מַשָּׂ֗א בְּשַׁעֲרֵ֛י הָעִ֥יר הַזֹּ֖את בְּי֣וֹם הַשַּׁבָּ֑ת וּלְקַדֵּשׁ֙ אֶת־י֣וֹם הַשַּׁבָּ֔ת לְבִלְתִּ֥י עֲשֽׂוֹת־בֹּ֖ה כׇּל־מְלָאכָֽה׃
καὶ ἔσται ἐὰν ἀκοῇ ἀκούσητέ μου λέγει κύριος τοῦ μὴ εἰσφέρειν βαστάγματα διὰ τῶν πυλῶν τῆς πόλεως ταύτης ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ τῶν σαββάτων καὶ ἁγιάζειν τὴν ἡμέραν τῶν σαββάτων τοῦ μὴ ποιεῖν πᾶν ἔργον
Et erit : si audieritis me, dicit Dominus, ut non inferatis onera per portas civitatis hujus in die sabbati : et si sanctificaveritis diem sabbati, ne faciatis in eo omne opus :
ወይእዜኒ፡ አመ፡ ሰሚዐ፡ ሰማዕክሙ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ወኢያባዕክሙ፡ ፆረ፡ እንተ፡ ኆሃቲሃ፡ ለዛ፡ ሀገር፡ በዕለተ፡ ሰንበት፡ ወቀደስክሙ፡ ዕለተ፡ ሰንበት፡ ወኢገበርክሙ፡ ኵሎ፡ ግብረ።
It will happen, if you diligently listen to me,” says Yahweh, “to bring in no burden through the gates of this city on the Sabbath day, but to make the Sabbath day holy, to do no work therein;
17:25
וּבָ֣אוּ בְשַׁעֲרֵ֣י הָעִ֣יר הַזֹּ֡את מְלָכִ֣ים׀וְשָׂרִ֡ים יֹשְׁבִים֩ עַל־כִּסֵּ֨א דָוִ֜ד רֹכְבִ֣ים׀ בָּרֶ֣כֶב וּבַסּוּסִ֗ים הֵ֚מָּה וְשָׂ֣רֵיהֶ֔ם אִ֥ישׁ יְהוּדָ֖ה וְיֹשְׁבֵ֣י יְרוּשָׁלָ֑͏ִם וְיָשְׁבָ֥ה הָעִיר־הַזֹּ֖את לְעוֹלָֽם׃
καὶ εἰσελεύσονται διὰ τῶν πυλῶν τῆς πόλεως ταύτης βασιλεῖς καὶ ἄρχοντες καθήμενοι ἐπὶ θρόνου Δαυιδ καὶ ἐπιβεβηκότες ἐφ’ ἅρμασιν καὶ ἵπποις αὐτῶν αὐτοὶ καὶ οἱ ἄρχοντες αὐτῶν ἄνδρες Ιουδα καὶ οἱ κατοικοῦντες Ιερουσαλημ καὶ κατοικισθήσεται ἡ πόλις αὕτη εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα
ingredientur per portas civitatis hujus reges et principes, sedentes super solium David, et ascendentes in curribus et equis, ipsi et principes eorum, viri Juda, et habitatores Jerusalem : et habitabitur civitas haec in sempiternum.
ወይበውዑ፡ እንተ፡ አናቅጺሃ፡ ለዛ፡ ሀገር፡ ነግሥት፡ ወመላእክት፡ እለ፡ ይንብሩ፡ ውስተ፡ መንበረ፡ ዳዊት፡ ወይጼዓኑ፡ ውስተ፡ ሠረገላ፡ ወአፍራስ፡ እሙንቱ፡ ወመላእክሆሙኒ፡ ሰብአ፡ ይሁዳ፡ ወእለ፡ ይነብሩ፡ ኢየሩሳሌም፡ ወትነብር፡ ዛ፡ ሀገር።
then there will enter in by the gates of this city kings and princes sitting on David’s throne, riding in chariots and on horses, they and their princes, the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and this city will remain forever.
17:26
וּבָ֣אוּ מֵעָרֵֽי־יְ֠הוּדָ֠ה וּמִסְּבִיב֨וֹת יְרוּשָׁלַ֜͏ִם וּמֵאֶ֣רֶץ בִּנְיָמִ֗ן וּמִן־הַשְּׁפֵלָ֤ה וּמִן־הָהָר֙ וּמִן־הַנֶּ֔גֶב מְבִאִ֛ים עוֹלָ֥ה וְזֶ֖בַח וּמִנְחָ֣ה וּלְבוֹנָ֑ה וּמְבִאֵ֥י תוֹדָ֖ה בֵּ֥ית יְהֹוָֽה׃
καὶ ἥξουσιν ἐκ τῶν πόλεων Ιουδα καὶ κυκλόθεν Ιερουσαλημ καὶ ἐκ γῆς Βενιαμιν καὶ ἐκ τῆς πεδινῆς καὶ ἐκ τοῦ ὄρους καὶ ἐκ τῆς πρὸς νότον φέροντες ὁλοκαυτώματα καὶ θυσίαν καὶ θυμιάματα καὶ μαναα καὶ λίβανον φέροντες αἴνεσιν εἰς οἶκον κυρίου
Et venient de civitatibus Juda, et de circuitu Jerusalem, et de terra Benjamin, et de campestribus, et de montuosis, et ab austro, portantes holocaustum, et victimam, et sacrificium, et thus, et inferent oblationem in domum Domini.
ወይመጽኡ፡ እምአህጉረ፡ ይሁዳ፡ ወአድያመ፡ ኢየሩሳሌም፡ ወእምብሄረ፡ ብንያም፡ ወእምአህቃላት፡ ወእምአድባር፡ ወእምመንገለ፡ ሰሜን፡ ወያመጽኡ፡ መሠዋተ፡ ወቊርባነ፡ ወመሐና፡ ወስሒን፡ ወያመጽኡ፡ አኰቴተ፡ ለቤተ፡ እግዚአብሔር።
They will come from the cities of Judah, and from the places around Jerusalem, from the land of Benjamin, from the lowland, from the hill country, and from the South, bringing burnt offerings, sacrifices, meal offerings, and frankincense, and bringing sacrifices of thanksgiving to Yahweh’s house.
17:27
וְאִם־לֹ֨א תִשְׁמְע֜וּ אֵלַ֗י לְקַדֵּשׁ֙ אֶת־י֣וֹם הַשַּׁבָּ֔ת וּלְבִלְתִּ֣י׀ שְׂאֵ֣ת מַשָּׂ֗א וּבֹ֛א בְּשַׁעֲרֵ֥י יְרוּשָׁלַ֖͏ִם בְּי֣וֹם הַשַּׁבָּ֑ת וְהִצַּ֧תִּי אֵ֣שׁ בִּשְׁעָרֶ֗יהָ וְאָ֥כְלָ֛ה אַרְמְנ֥וֹת יְרוּשָׁלַ֖͏ִם וְלֹ֥א תִכְבֶּֽה׃ {פ}
καὶ ἔσται ἐὰν μὴ εἰσακούσητέ μου τοῦ ἁγιάζειν τὴν ἡμέραν τῶν σαββάτων τοῦ μὴ αἴρειν βαστάγματα καὶ μὴ εἰσπορεύεσθαι ταῖς πύλαις Ιερουσαλημ ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ τῶν σαββάτων καὶ ἀνάψω πῦρ ἐν ταῖς πύλαις αὐτῆς καὶ καταφάγεται ἄμφοδα Ιερουσαλημ καὶ οὐ σβεσθήσεται
Si autem non audieritis me ut sanctificetis diem sabbati, et ne portetis onus, et ne inferatis per portas Jerusalem in die sabbati, succendam ignem in portis ejus, et devorabit domos Jerusalem, et non extinguetur.
ወእመ፡ ኢሰማዕክሙኒ፡ ወኢቀደስክሙ፡ ዕለተ፡ ሰንበት፡ ወአባዕክሙ፡ ፆረ፡ እንተ፡ አናቅጺሃ፡ ለኢየሩሳሌም፡ በዐለተ፡ ሰንበት፡ አነድድ፡ እሳተ፡ ላዕለኆኀቲሃ፡ ወትበልዕ፡ መሠረታቲሃ፡ ለኢየሩሳሌም፡ ወትጠፍእ።
But if you will not listen to me to make the Sabbath day holy, and not to bear a burden and enter in at the gates of Jerusalem on the Sabbath day, then I will kindle a fire in its gates, and it will devour the palaces of Jerusalem. It will not be quenched.”’”
