16:1
וַיְהִ֥י דְבַר־יְהֹוָ֖ה אֵלַ֥י לֵאמֹֽר׃
καὶ σὺ μὴ λάβῃς γυναῖκα λέγει κύριος ὁ θεὸς Ισραηλ
Et factum est verbum Domini ad me, dicens :
ወአንተሰ፡ ኢታውስብ፡ ብእሲተ።
Then Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,
16:2
לֹא־תִקַּ֥ח לְךָ֖ אִשָּׁ֑ה וְלֹֽא־יִהְי֤וּ לְךָ֙ בָּנִ֣ים וּבָנ֔וֹת בַּמָּק֖וֹם הַזֶּֽה׃ {ס}
καὶ οὐ γεννηθήσεταί σοι υἱὸς οὐδὲ θυγάτηρ ἐν τῷ τόπῳ τούτῳ
Non accipies uxorem, et non erunt tibi filii et filiae in loco isto.
ወኢትለድ፡ ወልደ፡ ወወለተበዝ፡ ብሔር።
“You shall not take a wife, neither shall you have sons or daughters, in this place.”
16:3
כִּי־כֹ֣ה׀ אָמַ֣ר יְהֹוָ֗ה עַל־הַבָּנִים֙ וְעַל־הַבָּנ֔וֹת הַיִּלּוֹדִ֖ים בַּמָּק֣וֹם הַזֶּ֑ה וְעַֽל־אִמֹּתָ֞ם הַיֹּלְד֣וֹת אוֹתָ֗ם וְעַל־אֲבוֹתָ֛ם הַמּוֹלִדִ֥ים אוֹתָ֖ם בָּאָ֥רֶץ הַזֹּֽאת׃
ὅτι τάδε λέγει κύριος περὶ τῶν υἱῶν καὶ περὶ τῶν θυγατέρων τῶν γεννωμένων ἐν τῷ τόπῳ τούτῳ καὶ περὶ τῶν μητέρων αὐτῶν τῶν τετοκυιῶν αὐτοὺς καὶ περὶ τῶν πατέρων αὐτῶν τῶν γεγεννηκότων αὐτοὺς ἐν τῇ γῇ ταύτῃ
Quia haec dicit Dominus super filios et filias qui generantur in loco isto, et super matres eorum, quae genuerunt eos, et super patres eorum, de quorum stirpe sunt nati in terra hac :
እስመ፡ ከመ፡ ዝ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ በእንተ፡ ደቂቅ፡ ወአዋልድ፡ እለ፡ ይትወለዱ፡ በዝ፡ ብሔር፡ ወበእንተ፡ እማቲሆሙ፡ እለሐረሳዊሆሙ፡ ወበእንተ፡ አበዊሆሙእለ፡ ወለድዎሙ፡ በዝ፡ ምድር።
For Yahweh says concerning the sons and concerning the daughters who are born in this place, and concerning their mothers who bore them, and concerning their fathers who became their father in this land:
16:4
מְמוֹתֵ֨י תַחֲלֻאִ֜ים יָמֻ֗תוּ לֹ֤א יִסָּֽפְדוּ֙ וְלֹ֣א יִקָּבֵ֔רוּ לְדֹ֛מֶן עַל־פְּנֵ֥י הָאֲדָמָ֖ה יִהְי֑וּ וּבַחֶ֤רֶב וּבָֽרָעָב֙ יִכְל֔וּ וְהָיְתָ֤ה נִבְלָתָם֙ לְמַאֲכָ֔ל לְע֥וֹף הַשָּׁמַ֖יִם וּלְבֶהֱמַ֥ת הָאָֽרֶץ׃ {ס}
ἐν θανάτῳ νοσερῷ ἀποθανοῦνται οὐ κοπήσονται καὶ οὐ ταφήσονται εἰς παράδειγμα ἐπὶ προσώπου τῆς γῆς ἔσονται καὶ τοῖς θηρίοις τῆς γῆς καὶ τοῖς πετεινοῖς τοῦ οὐρανοῦ ἐν μαχαίρᾳ πεσοῦνται καὶ ἐν λιμῷ συντελεσθήσονται
Mortibus aegrotationum morientur : non plangentur, et non sepelientur : in sterquilinium super faciem terrae erunt, et gladio et fame consumentur : et erit cadaver eorum in escam volatilibus caeli et bestiis terrae.
ሞተ፡ እኩይ፡ ይመውቱ፡ ወኢይበክይዎሙ፡ ወኢይቀብርዎሙ፡ ዳዕሙ፡ ይትሀበለይዎሙ፡ ውስተ፡ ገጸ፡ ምድር፡ ወይወድቁ፡ ውሰተ፡ ኲናት፡ ወየኀልቁ፡ በረኀብ፡ ወይከውኑ፡ አብድንቲሆሙ፡ መብልአ፡ ለአእዋፈ፡ ሰማይ፡ ወለአራዊ፡ ገዳም።
“They will die grievous deaths. They will not be lamented, neither will they be buried. They will be as dung on the surface of the ground. They will be consumed by the sword and by famine. Their dead bodies will be food for the birds of the sky and for the animals of the earth.”
16:5
כִּי־כֹ֣ה׀ אָמַ֣ר יְהֹוָ֗ה אַל־תָּבוֹא֙ בֵּ֣ית מַרְזֵ֔חַ וְאַל־תֵּלֵ֣ךְ לִסְפּ֔וֹד וְאַל־תָּנֹ֖ד לָהֶ֑ם כִּֽי־אָסַ֨פְתִּי אֶת־שְׁלוֹמִ֜י מֵאֵ֨ת הָעָ֤ם הַזֶּה֙ נְאֻם־יְהֹוָ֔ה אֶת־הַחֶ֖סֶד וְאֶת־הָרַחֲמִֽים׃
τάδε λέγει κύριος μὴ εἰσέλθῃς εἰς θίασον αὐτῶν καὶ μὴ πορευθῇς τοῦ κόψασθαι καὶ μὴ πενθήσῃς αὐτούς ὅτι ἀφέστακα τὴν εἰρήνην μου ἀπὸ τοῦ λαοῦ τούτου
Haec enim dicit Dominus : Ne ingrediaris domum convivii, neque vadas ad plangendum, neque consoleris eos, quia abstuli pacem meam a populo isto, dicit Dominus, misericordiam et miserationes.
እስመ፡ ከመዝ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ኢትብክዮሙ፡ ወኢትባእ፡ ውስተ፡ ቤተ፡ ላህ፡ ወኢትላህዎሙ፡ እስመ፡ አዕተትኩ፡ ሰላም፡ እምዝ፡ ሕዝብ፡ ቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ወምሕረትየሂ፡ ወሣህልየሂ።
For Yahweh says, “Don’t enter into the house of mourning. Don’t go to lament. Don’t bemoan them, for I have taken away my peace from this people,” says Yahweh, “even loving kindness and tender mercies.
16:6
וּמֵ֨תוּ גְדֹלִ֧ים וּקְטַנִּ֛ים בָּאָ֥רֶץ הַזֹּ֖את לֹ֣א יִקָּבֵ֑רוּ וְלֹא־יִסְפְּד֣וּ לָהֶ֔ם וְלֹ֣א יִתְגֹּדַ֔ד וְלֹ֥א יִקָּרֵ֖חַ לָהֶֽם׃
οὐ μὴ κόψωνται αὐτοὺς οὐδὲ ἐντομίδας οὐ μὴ ποιήσωσιν καὶ οὐ ξυρήσονται
Et morientur grandes et parvi in terra ista : non sepelientur, neque plangentur, et non se incident, neque calvitium fiet pro eis.
ወይመውቱ፡ ንኡስ፡ ወዐቢይ፡ በዝ፡ ምድር፡ ወኢይቀብርዎሙ፡ ወኢይላህውዎሙ፡ ወኢይክርዩ፡ ሎሙ፡ ወኢይበክይዎሙ፡ ወኢትላዩ።
Both great and small will die in this land. They will not be buried. Men won’t lament for them, cut themselves, or make themselves bald for them.
16:7
וְלֹא־יִפְרְס֥וּ לָהֶ֛ם עַל־אֵ֖בֶל לְנַחֲמ֣וֹ עַל־מֵ֑ת וְלֹֽא־יַשְׁק֤וּ אוֹתָם֙ כּ֣וֹס תַּנְחוּמִ֔ים עַל־אָבִ֖יו וְעַל־אִמּֽוֹ׃
καὶ οὐ μὴ κλασθῇ ἄρτος ἐν πένθει αὐτῶν εἰς παράκλησιν ἐπὶ τεθνηκότι οὐ ποτιοῦσιν αὐτὸν ποτήριον εἰς παράκλησιν ἐπὶ πατρὶ καὶ μητρὶ αὐτοῦ
Et non frangent inter eos lugenti panem ad consolandum super mortuo, et non dabunt eis potum calicis ad consolandum super patre suo et matre.
ወኢይናዝዝዎሙ፡ በእንተ፡ ዘሞቱ፡ ወኢይግዕቱ፡ ሎሙ፡ ወኢይፌትቱ፡ ሎሙ፡ ኅብስተ፡ ወጽዋዐ፡ ኢያሠትይዎሙ፡ በዘይትናዘዙ፡ በእንተ፡ አቡሆሙ፡ ወእሞሙ።
Men won’t break bread for them in mourning, to comfort them for the dead. Men won’t give them the cup of consolation to drink for their father or for their mother.
16:8
וּבֵית־מִשְׁתֶּ֥ה לֹֽא־תָב֖וֹא לָשֶׁ֣בֶת אוֹתָ֑ם לֶאֱכֹ֖ל וְלִשְׁתּֽוֹת׃ {פ}
εἰς οἰκίαν πότου οὐκ εἰσελεύσῃ συγκαθίσαι μετ’ αὐτῶν τοῦ φαγεῖν καὶ πιεῖν
Et domum convivii non ingrediaris, ut sedeas cum eis, et comedas, et bibas.
ወኢትባዕ፡ ምስሌሆሙ፡ ቤተ፡ ምስሐግ።
“You shall not go into the house of feasting to sit with them, to eat and to drink.”
16:9
כִּי֩ כֹ֨ה אָמַ֜ר יְהֹוָ֤ה צְבָאוֹת֙ אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל הִנְנִ֨י מַשְׁבִּ֜ית מִן־הַמָּק֥וֹם הַזֶּ֛ה לְעֵינֵיכֶ֖ם וּבִימֵיכֶ֑ם ק֤וֹל שָׂשׂוֹן֙ וְק֣וֹל שִׂמְחָ֔ה ק֥וֹל חָתָ֖ן וְק֥וֹל כַּלָּֽה׃
διότι τάδε λέγει κύριος ὁ θεὸς Ισραηλ ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ καταλύω ἐκ τοῦ τόπου τούτου ἐνώπιον τῶν ὀφθαλμῶν ὑμῶν καὶ ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις ὑμῶν φωνὴν χαρᾶς καὶ φωνὴν εὐφροσύνης φωνὴν νυμφίου καὶ φωνὴν νύμφης
Quia haec dicit Dominus exercituum, Deus Israël : Ecce ego auferam de loco isto, in oculis vestris, et in diebus vestris, vocem gaudii et vocem laetitiae, vocem sponsi et vocem sponsae.
በእንተ፡ ዝንቱ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ኀያል፡ አምላከ፡ እስራኤል፡ ናሁ፡ አነ፡ እሥዕር፡ እምዝንቱ፡ እምዝንቱ፡ ብሔር፡ በቅድመ፡ አዕይንቲክሙ፡ ወበመዋዕሊክሙቃለ፡ ትፍሥሕት፡ ወቃለ፡ ሐሴት፡ ቃለ፡ መርዓዊ፡ ወቃለመርዓት።
For Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel says: “Behold, I will cause to cease out of this place, before your eyes and in your days, the voice of mirth and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride.
16:10
וְהָיָ֗ה כִּ֤י תַגִּיד֙ לָעָ֣ם הַזֶּ֔ה אֵ֥ת כׇּל־הַדְּבָרִ֖ים הָאֵ֑לֶּה וְאָמְר֣וּ אֵלֶ֗יךָ עַל־מֶה֩ דִבֶּ֨ר יְהֹוָ֤ה עָלֵ֙ינוּ֙ אֵ֣ת כׇּל־הָרָעָ֤ה הַגְּדוֹלָה֙ הַזֹּ֔את וּמֶ֤ה עֲוֺנֵ֙נוּ֙ וּמֶ֣ה חַטָּאתֵ֔נוּ אֲשֶׁ֥ר חָטָ֖אנוּ לַיהֹוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֵֽינוּ׃
καὶ ἔσται ὅταν ἀναγγείλῃς τῷ λαῷ τούτῳ ἅπαντα τὰ ῥήματα ταῦτα καὶ εἴπωσιν πρὸς σέ διὰ τί ἐλάλησεν κύριος ἐφ’ ἡμᾶς πάντα τὰ κακὰ ταῦτα τίς ἡ ἀδικία ἡμῶν καὶ τίς ἡ ἁμαρτία ἡμῶν ἣν ἡμάρτομεν ἔναντι κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ ἡμῶν
Et cum annuntiaveris populo huic omnia verba haec, et dixerint tibi : Quare locutus est Dominus super nos omne malum grande istud ? quae iniquitas nostra, et quod peccatum nostrum, quod peccavimus Domino Deo nostro ?
ወሶበ፡ ነገርኮ፡ ለዝ፡ ሕዝብ፡ ዘንተ፡ ኵሎ፡ ነገረ፡ ወይብሉከ፡ ለምንት፡ ነበበ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ዘንተ፡ ኵሉ፡ ነገረ፡ እኩየ፡ ዐቢየ፡ ላዕሌነ፡ ምንት፡ ጌጋይነ፡ ወምንት፡ አበሳነ፡ ዘአበስነ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር፡ አምላክነ።
It will happen, when you tell this people all these words, and they ask you, ‘Why has Yahweh pronounced all this great evil against us?’ or ‘What is our iniquity?’ or ‘What is our sin that we have committed against Yahweh our God?’
16:11
וְאָמַרְתָּ֣ אֲלֵיהֶ֗ם עַל֩ אֲשֶׁר־עָזְב֨וּ אֲבוֹתֵיכֶ֤ם אוֹתִי֙ נְאֻם־יְהֹוָ֔ה וַיֵּלְכ֗וּ אַֽחֲרֵי֙ אֱלֹהִ֣ים אֲחֵרִ֔ים וַיַּעַבְד֖וּם וַיִּשְׁתַּחֲו֣וּ לָהֶ֑ם וְאֹתִ֣י עָזָ֔בוּ וְאֶת־תּוֹרָתִ֖י לֹ֥א שָׁמָֽרוּ׃
καὶ ἐρεῖς αὐτοῖς ἀνθ’ ὧν ἐγκατέλιπόν με οἱ πατέρες ὑμῶν λέγει κύριος καὶ ᾤχοντο ὀπίσω θεῶν ἀλλοτρίων καὶ ἐδούλευσαν αὐτοῖς καὶ προσεκύνησαν αὐτοῖς καὶ ἐμὲ ἐγκατέλιπον καὶ τὸν νόμον μου οὐκ ἐφυλάξαντο
dices ad eos : Quia dereliquerunt me patres vestri, ait Dominus, et abierunt post deos alienos, et servierunt eis, et adoraverunt eos, et me dereliquerunt, et legem meam non custodierunt.
ትብሎሙ፡ እስመ፡ ኀደጉኒ፡ አበዊክሙ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ወሖሩ፡ ወተለዉ፡ አማልክተ፡ ነኪር፡ ወተቀን፡ ሎሙ፡ ወኪያየሰ፡ ኀደጉኒ፡ ወሕግየኒ፡ ኢዐቀቡ።
then you shall tell them, ‘Because your fathers have forsaken me,’ says Yahweh, ‘and have walked after other gods, have served them, have worshiped them, have forsaken me, and have not kept my law.
16:12
וְאַתֶּ֛ם הֲרֵעֹתֶ֥ם לַעֲשׂ֖וֹת מֵאֲבֽוֹתֵיכֶ֑ם וְהִנְּכֶ֣ם הֹלְכִ֗ים אִ֚ישׁ אַֽחֲרֵי֙ שְׁרִר֣וּת לִבּֽוֹ־הָרָ֔ע לְבִלְתִּ֖י שְׁמֹ֥עַ אֵלָֽי׃
καὶ ὑμεῖς ἐπονηρεύσασθε ὑπὲρ τοὺς πατέρας ὑμῶν καὶ ἰδοὺ ὑμεῖς πορεύεσθε ἕκαστος ὀπίσω τῶν ἀρεστῶν τῆς καρδίας ὑμῶν τῆς πονηρᾶς τοῦ μὴ ὑπακούειν μου
Sed et vos pejus operati estis quam patres vestri : ecce enim ambulat unusquisque post pravitatem cordis sui mali, ut me non audiat.
ወአንትሙ፡ አብዛኅክሙ፡ ገቢረ፡ እከይ፡ እምአበዊክሙ፡ ወናሁ፡ ኵልክሙ፡ ተለውክሙ፡ ፍትወተ፡ ልብክሙ፡ እኵየ፡ ወዐበይክሙ፡ ሰሚዖት።
You have done evil more than your fathers, for behold, you each walk after the stubbornness of his evil heart, so that you don’t listen to me.
16:13
וְהֵטַלְתִּ֣י אֶתְכֶ֗ם מֵעַל֙ הָאָ֣רֶץ הַזֹּ֔את עַל־הָאָ֕רֶץ אֲשֶׁר֙ לֹ֣א יְדַעְתֶּ֔ם אַתֶּ֖ם וַאֲבוֹתֵיכֶ֑ם וַעֲבַדְתֶּם־שָׁ֞ם אֶת־אֱלֹהִ֤ים אֲחֵרִים֙ יוֹמָ֣ם וָלַ֔יְלָה אֲשֶׁ֛ר לֹא־אֶתֵּ֥ן לָכֶ֖ם חֲנִינָֽה׃ {פ}
καὶ ἀπορρίψω ὑμᾶς ἀπὸ τῆς γῆς ταύτης εἰς τὴν γῆν ἣν οὐκ ᾔδειτε ὑμεῖς καὶ οἱ πατέρες ὑμῶν καὶ δουλεύσετε ἐκεῖ θεοῖς ἑτέροις οἳ οὐ δώσουσιν ὑμῖν ἔλεος
Et ejiciam vos de terra hac in terram quam ignoratis, vos et patres vestri : et servietis ibi diis alienis, die ac nocte, qui non dabunt vobis requiem.
ወእገድፈክሙ፡ እምዝ፡ ምድር፡ ውስተ፡ ብሔር፡ ዘኢትአምሩ፡ ኢአንትሙ፡ ወኢአበዊክሙ፡ ወትትቀነዩ፡ በህየ፡ ለባዕዳን፡ አማልክት።
Therefore I will cast you out of this land into the land that you have not known, neither you nor your fathers. There you will serve other gods day and night, for I will show you no favor.’
16:14
לָכֵ֛ן הִנֵּה־יָמִ֥ים בָּאִ֖ים נְאֻם־יְהֹוָ֑ה וְלֹא־יֵאָמֵ֥ר עוֹד֙ חַי־יְהֹוָ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֧ר הֶעֱלָ֛ה אֶת־בְּנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל מֵאֶ֥רֶץ מִצְרָֽיִם׃
διὰ τοῦτο ἰδοὺ ἡμέραι ἔρχονται λέγει κύριος καὶ οὐκ ἐροῦσιν ἔτι ζῇ κύριος ὁ ἀναγαγὼν τοὺς υἱοὺς Ισραηλ ἐκ γῆς Αἰγύπτου
Propterea ecce dies veniunt, dicit Dominus, et non dicetur ultra : Vivit Dominus qui eduxit filios Israël de terra Aegypti,
በእንተ፡ ዝንቱ፡ ናሁ፡ ይመጽእ፡ መዋዕልይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር።
“Therefore behold, the days come,” says Yahweh, “that it will no more be said, ‘As Yahweh lives, who brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt;’
16:15
כִּ֣י אִם־חַי־יְהֹוָ֗ה אֲשֶׁ֨ר הֶעֱלָ֜ה אֶת־בְּנֵ֤י יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ מֵאֶ֣רֶץ צָפ֔וֹן וּמִכֹּל֙ הָאֲרָצ֔וֹת אֲשֶׁ֥ר הִדִּיחָ֖ם שָׁ֑מָּה וַהֲשִֽׁבֹתִים֙ עַל־אַדְמָתָ֔ם אֲשֶׁ֥ר נָתַ֖תִּי לַאֲבוֹתָֽם׃ {פ}
ἀλλά ζῇ κύριος ὃς ἀνήγαγεν τὸν οἶκον Ισραηλ ἀπὸ γῆς βορρᾶ καὶ ἀπὸ πασῶν τῶν χωρῶν οὗ ἐξώσθησαν ἐκεῖ καὶ ἀποκαταστήσω αὐτοὺς εἰς τὴν γῆν αὐτῶν ἣν ἔδωκα τοῖς πατράσιν αὐτῶν
sed : Vivit Dominus qui eduxit filios Israël de terra aquilonis, et de universis terris ad quas ejeci eos : et reducam eos in terram suam, quam dedi patribus eorum.
ወኢይብሉ፡ እንከ፡ ሕያው፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ዘአውጽኦሙ፡ እምደቂቀ፡ እስራኤል፡ እምድረ፡ ግብፅ፡ ዳዕሙ፡ ሕያው፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ዘአውፅአ፡ ለቤተ፡ እስራኤል፡ እብሔረሰሜን፡ ወእምኵሉ፡ በሐውርት፡ ኀበ፡ ወሰድክምዎ፡ ህየ፡ አአትዎሙ፡ ውስተ፡ ምድሮሙ፡ ዘወሀብክዎሙ፡ ለአበዊሆሙ።
but, ‘As Yahweh lives, who brought up the children of Israel from the land of the north, and from all the countries where he had driven them.’ I will bring them again into their land that I gave to their fathers.
16:16
הִנְנִ֨י שֹׁלֵ֜חַ (לדוגים) [לְדַיָּגִ֥ים] רַבִּ֛ים נְאֻם־יְהֹוָ֖ה וְדִיג֑וּם וְאַחֲרֵי־כֵ֗ן אֶשְׁלַח֙ לְרַבִּ֣ים צַיָּדִ֔ים וְצָד֞וּם מֵעַ֤ל כׇּל־הַר֙ וּמֵעַ֣ל כׇּל־גִּבְעָ֔ה וּמִנְּקִיקֵ֖י הַסְּלָעִֽים׃
ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἀποστέλλω τοὺς ἁλεεῖς τοὺς πολλούς λέγει κύριος καὶ ἁλιεύσουσιν αὐτούς καὶ μετὰ ταῦτα ἀποστελῶ τοὺς πολλοὺς θηρευτάς καὶ θηρεύσουσιν αὐτοὺς ἐπάνω παντὸς ὄρους καὶ ἐπάνω παντὸς βουνοῦ καὶ ἐκ τῶν τρυμαλιῶν τῶν πετρῶν
Ecce ego mittam piscatores multos, dicit Dominus, et piscabuntur eos : et post haec mittam eis multos venatores, et venabuntur eos de omni monte, et de omni colle, et de cavernis petrarum.
ናሁ፡ አነ፡ እፌኑ፡ ብዙኃነ፡ መሠግራነ፡ ያሥግርዎሙ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ወእምዝ፡ እፌኑ፡ ብዙኃነ፡ ነዓውያነ፡ ወይንዕውዎሙ፡ በላዕለ፡ ኵሉ፡ አድባር፡ ወበላዕለ፡ ኵሉ፡ አውግር፡ ወበላዕለ፡ ኵሉ፡ ንቅዓታተ፡ ኰኵሕ።
“Behold, I will send for many fishermen,” says Yahweh, “and they will fish them up. Afterward I will send for many hunters, and they will hunt them from every mountain, from every hill, and out of the clefts of the rocks.
16:17
כִּ֤י עֵינַי֙ עַל־כׇּל־דַּרְכֵיהֶ֔ם לֹ֥א נִסְתְּר֖וּ מִלְּפָנָ֑י וְלֹֽא־נִצְפַּ֥ן עֲוֺנָ֖ם מִנֶּ֥גֶד עֵינָֽי׃
ὅτι οἱ ὀφθαλμοί μου ἐπὶ πάσας τὰς ὁδοὺς αὐτῶν καὶ οὐκ ἐκρύβη τὰ ἀδικήματα αὐτῶν ἀπέναντι τῶν ὀφθαλμῶν μου
Quia oculi mei super omnes vias eorum : non sunt absconditae a facie mea, et non fuit occultata iniquitas eorum ab oculis meis.
እስመ፡ አዕይንትየ፡ ይኔጽራ፡ ውስተ፡ ኵሉ፡ ፍናዊሆሙ፡ ወኢይሴወር፡ እምቅድመ፡ አዕይንትየ፡ ኀጢአቶሙ፡ ወኢይትኀባዕ፡ ጌጋዮሙ።
For my eyes are on all their ways. They are not hidden from my face. Their iniquity isn’t concealed from my eyes.
16:18
וְשִׁלַּמְתִּ֣י רִאשׁוֹנָ֗ה מִשְׁנֵ֤ה עֲוֺנָם֙ וְחַטָּאתָ֔ם עַ֖ל חַלְּלָ֣ם אֶת־אַרְצִ֑י בְּנִבְלַ֤ת שִׁקּֽוּצֵיהֶם֙ וְתוֹעֲב֣וֹתֵיהֶ֔ם מָלְא֖וּ אֶת־נַחֲלָתִֽי׃ {פ}
καὶ ἀνταποδώσω διπλᾶς τὰς ἀδικίας αὐτῶν καὶ τὰς ἁμαρτίας αὐτῶν ἐφ’ αἷς ἐβεβήλωσαν τὴν γῆν μου ἐν τοῖς θνησιμαίοις τῶν βδελυγμάτων αὐτῶν καὶ ἐν ταῖς ἀνομίαις αὐτῶν ἐν αἷς ἐπλημμέλησαν τὴν κληρονομίαν μου
Et reddam primum duplices iniquitates et peccata eorum, quia contaminaverunt terram meam in morticinis idolorum suorum, et abominationibus suis impleverunt haereditatem meam.
ወእፈድዮሙ፡ ካዕበተ፡ ዐመፃሆሙ፡ ወጌጋዮሙ፡ ዘአርኰሱ፡ ምድርየ፡ በእበደ፡ ርኵሶሙ፡ ወበኀጢአቶሙ፡ ዘአርኰሱ፡ ርስትየ።
First I will recompense their iniquity and their sin double, because they have polluted my land with the carcasses of their detestable things, and have filled my inheritance with their abominations.”
16:19
יְהֹוָ֞ה עֻזִּ֧י וּמָעֻזִּ֛י וּמְנוּסִ֖י בְּי֣וֹם צָרָ֑ה אֵלֶ֗יךָ גּוֹיִ֤ם יָבֹ֙אוּ֙ מֵֽאַפְסֵי־אָ֔רֶץ וְיֹאמְר֗וּ אַךְ־שֶׁ֙קֶר֙ נָחֲל֣וּ אֲבוֹתֵ֔ינוּ הֶ֖בֶל וְאֵֽין־בָּ֥ם מוֹעִֽיל׃
κύριε ἰσχύς μου καὶ βοήθειά μου καὶ καταφυγή μου ἐν ἡμέρᾳ κακῶν πρὸς σὲ ἔθνη ἥξουσιν ἀπ’ ἐσχάτου τῆς γῆς καὶ ἐροῦσιν ὡς ψευδῆ ἐκτήσαντο οἱ πατέρες ἡμῶν εἴδωλα καὶ οὐκ ἔστιν ἐν αὐτοῖς ὠφέλημα
Domine, fortitudo mea, et robur meum, et refugium meum in die tribulationis, ad te gentes venient ab extremis terrae, et dicent : Vere mendacium possederunt patres nostri, vanitatem quae eis non profuit.
እግዚአብሔር፡ ኀይል፡ ወረዳዕየ፡ ወፀወንየ፡ በእለተ፡ ምንዳቤየ፡ ይ፡ ነቢይ፡ ወይመጽኡ፡ አሕዛብ፡ ኀቤከ፡ እምአጽናፈ፡ ምድር፡ ወይብሉ፡ በከ፡ ወሐሰተ፡ ገብሩ፡ አበዊነ፡ ጣዖቶሙ፡ ዘለምንትሂ፡ ኢይበቊዖሙ።
Yahweh, my strength, my stronghold, and my refuge in the day of affliction, the nations will come to you from the ends of the earth, and will say, “Our fathers have inherited nothing but lies, vanity and things in which there is no profit.
16:20
הֲיַעֲשֶׂה־לּ֥וֹ אָדָ֖ם אֱלֹהִ֑ים וְהֵ֖מָּה לֹ֥א אֱלֹהִֽים׃
εἰ ποιήσει ἑαυτῷ ἄνθρωπος θεούς καὶ οὗτοι οὔκ εἰσιν θεοί
Numquid faciet sibi homo deos, et ipsi non sunt dii ?
ይገብርኑ፡ ሎቱ፡ ሰብእ፡ አማልክተ፡ ዘኢኮኑ፡ አማልክተ።
Should a man make to himself gods which yet are no gods?”
16:21
לָכֵן֙ הִנְנִ֣י מֽוֹדִיעָ֔ם בַּפַּ֣עַם הַזֹּ֔את אוֹדִיעֵ֥ם אֶת־יָדִ֖י וְאֶת־גְּבוּרָתִ֑י וְיָדְע֖וּ כִּֽי־שְׁמִ֥י יְהֹוָֽה׃ {ס}
διὰ τοῦτο ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ δηλώσω αὐτοῖς ἐν τῷ καιρῷ τούτῳ τὴν χεῖρά μου καὶ γνωριῶ αὐτοῖς τὴν δύναμίν μου καὶ γνώσονται ὅτι ὄνομά μοι κύριος
Idcirco ecce ego ostendam eis per vicem hanc, ostendam eis manum meam, et virtutem meam, et scient quia nomen mihi Dominus.
በእንተ፡ ዘዝንቱ፡ ናሁ፡ አነ፡ እነግሮሙ፡ በዝ፡ መዋዕል፡ ወአርእዮሙ፡ እዴየ፡ ወኀይልየኒ፡ ወየአምሩከመ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ስምየ።
“Therefore behold, I will cause them to know, this once I will cause them to know my hand and my might. Then they will know that my name is Yahweh.”
