48:1
וַיְהִ֗י אַחֲרֵי֙ הַדְּבָרִ֣ים הָאֵ֔לֶּה וַיֹּ֣אמֶר לְיוֹסֵ֔ף הִנֵּ֥ה אָבִ֖יךָ חֹלֶ֑ה וַיִּקַּ֞ח אֶת־שְׁנֵ֤י בָנָיו֙ עִמּ֔וֹ אֶת־מְנַשֶּׁ֖ה וְאֶת־אֶפְרָֽיִם׃
ἐγένετο δὲ μετὰ τὰ ῥήματα ταῦτα καὶ ἀπηγγέλη τῷ Ιωσηφ ὅτι ὁ πατήρ σου ἐνοχλεῖται καὶ ἀναλαβὼν τοὺς δύο υἱοὺς αὐτοῦ τὸν Μανασση καὶ τὸν Εφραιμ ἦλθεν πρὸς Ιακωβ
His ita transactis, nuntiatum est Joseph quod aegrotaret pater suus : qui, assumptis duobus filiis Manasse et Ephraim, ire perrexit.
ወኮነ ፡ እምድኅረ ፡ ዝንቱ ፡ ነገር ፡ ይቤልዎ ፡ ለዮሴፍ ፡ ደክመ ፡ አቡነ ፡ ወነሥአ ፡ ዮሴፍ ፡ ክልኤ ፡ ደቂቆ ፡ ምናሴሃ ፡ ወኤፍሬምሃ ።
After these things, someone said to Joseph, “Behold, your father is sick.” He took with him his two sons, Manasseh and Ephraim.
48:2
וַיַּגֵּ֣ד לְיַעֲקֹ֔ב וַיֹּ֕אמֶר הִנֵּ֛ה בִּנְךָ֥ יוֹסֵ֖ף בָּ֣א אֵלֶ֑יךָ וַיִּתְחַזֵּק֙ יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וַיֵּ֖שֶׁב עַל־הַמִּטָּֽה׃
ἀπηγγέλη δὲ τῷ Ιακωβ λέγοντες ἰδοὺ ὁ υἱός σου Ιωσηφ ἔρχεται πρὸς σέ καὶ ἐνισχύσας Ισραηλ ἐκάθισεν ἐπὶ τὴν κλίνην
Dictumque est seni : Ecce filius tuus Joseph venit ad te. Qui confortatus sedit in lectulo.
ወይቤልዎ ፡ ለእስራኤል ፡ ናሁ ፡ ወልድከ ፡ ዮሴፍ ፡ ይመጽእ ፡ ኀቤከ ፡ ወተኀየለ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ ወነበረ ፡ ዲበ ፡ ምስካቢሁ ።
Someone told Jacob, and said, “Behold, your son Joseph comes to you,” and Israel strengthened himself, and sat on the bed.
48:3
וַיֹּ֤אמֶר יַעֲקֹב֙ אֶל־יוֹסֵ֔ף אֵ֥ל שַׁדַּ֛י נִרְאָֽה־אֵלַ֥י בְּל֖וּז בְּאֶ֣רֶץ כְּנָ֑עַן וַיְבָ֖רֶךְ אֹתִֽי׃
καὶ εἶπεν Ιακωβ τῷ Ιωσηφ ὁ θεός μου ὤφθη μοι ἐν Λουζα ἐν γῇ Χανααν καὶ εὐλόγησέν με
Et ingresso ad se ait : Deus omnipotens apparuit mihi in Luza, quae est in terra Chanaan : benedixitque mihi,
ወይቤሎ ፡ ያዕቆብ ፡ ለዮሴፍ ፡ አምላኪየ ፡ ዘአስተርአየኒ ፡ በሉዛ ፡ በምድረ ፡ ከናአን ፡ ወባረከኒ ፤
Jacob said to Joseph, “God Almighty appeared to me at Luz in the land of Canaan, and blessed me,
48:4
וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֵלַ֗י הִנְנִ֤י מַפְרְךָ֙ וְהִרְבִּיתִ֔ךָ וּנְתַתִּ֖יךָ לִקְהַ֣ל עַמִּ֑ים וְנָ֨תַתִּ֜י אֶת־הָאָ֧רֶץ הַזֹּ֛את לְזַרְעֲךָ֥ אַחֲרֶ֖יךָ אֲחֻזַּ֥ת עוֹלָֽם׃
καὶ εἶπέν μοι ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ αὐξανῶ σε καὶ πληθυνῶ σε καὶ ποιήσω σε εἰς συναγωγὰς ἐθνῶν καὶ δώσω σοι τὴν γῆν ταύτην καὶ τῷ σπέρματί σου μετὰ σὲ εἰς κατάσχεσιν αἰώνιον
et ait : Ego te augebo et multiplicabo, et faciam te in turbas populorum : daboque tibi terram hanc, et semini tuo post te in possessionem sempiternam.
ወይቤለኒ ፡ ናሁ ፡ አነ ፡ ኣበዝኀከ ፡ ወኣስተበዝኀከ ፡ ወእገብረከ ፡ ማኅበረ ፡ አሕዛብ ፡ ወእሁበካሃ ፡ ለዛቲ ፡ ምድር ፡ ወለዘርእከ ፡ እምድኅሬከ ፡ ከመ ፡ ይምልክዋ ፡ ለዓለም ።
and said to me, ‘Behold, I will make you fruitful, and multiply you, and I will make of you a company of peoples, and will give this land to your offspring after you for an everlasting possession.’
48:5
וְעַתָּ֡ה שְׁנֵֽי־בָנֶ֩יךָ֩ הַנּוֹלָדִ֨ים לְךָ֜ בְּאֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרַ֗יִם עַד־בֹּאִ֥י אֵלֶ֛יךָ מִצְרַ֖יְמָה לִי־הֵ֑ם אֶפְרַ֙יִם֙ וּמְנַשֶּׁ֔ה כִּרְאוּבֵ֥ן וְשִׁמְע֖וֹן יִֽהְיוּ־לִֽי׃
νῦν οὖν οἱ δύο υἱοί σου οἱ γενόμενοί σοι ἐν Αἰγύπτῳ πρὸ τοῦ με ἐλθεῖν πρὸς σὲ εἰς Αἴγυπτον ἐμοί εἰσιν Εφραιμ καὶ Μανασση ὡς Ρουβην καὶ Συμεων ἔσονταί μοι
Duo ergo filii tui, qui nati sunt tibi in terra Aegypti antequam huc venirem ad te, mei erunt : Ephraim et Manasses, sicut Ruben et Simeon reputabuntur mihi.
ወይእዜኒ ፡ እሉ ፡ ደቂቅከ ፡ ክልኤቱ ፡ እለ ፡ ተወልዱ ፡ ለከ ፡ በብሔረ ፡ ግብጽ ፡ ዘእንበለ ፡ እምጻእ ፡ አነ ፡ ዝየ ፡ ኀቤከ ፡ ኤፍሬም ፡ ወምናሴ ፡ ከመ ፡ ሩቤል ፡ ወስምዖን ፡ ሊተ ፡ እሙንቱ ።
Now your two sons, who were born to you in the land of Egypt before I came to you into Egypt, are mine; Ephraim and Manasseh, even as Reuben and Simeon, will be mine.
48:6
וּמוֹלַדְתְּךָ֛ אֲשֶׁר־הוֹלַ֥דְתָּ אַחֲרֵיהֶ֖ם לְךָ֣ יִהְי֑וּ עַ֣ל שֵׁ֧ם אֲחֵיהֶ֛ם יִקָּרְא֖וּ בְּנַחֲלָתָֽם׃
τὰ δὲ ἔκγονα ἃ ἐὰν γεννήσῃς μετὰ ταῦτα σοὶ ἔσονται ἐπὶ τῷ ὀνόματι τῶν ἀδελφῶν αὐτῶν κληθήσονται ἐν τοῖς ἐκείνων κλήροις
Reliquos autem quos genueris post eos, tui erunt, et nomine fratrum suorum vocabuntur in possessionibus suis.
ወእመቦ ፡ ዘወለድከ ፡ እምይእዜ ፡ ይኩኑ ፡ በስመ ፡ አኀዊሆሙ ፡ ወይሰመዩ ፡ ወይኩኑ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ክፍለ ፡ አኀዊሆሙ ።
Your offspring, whom you become the father of after them, will be yours. They will be called after the name of their brothers in their inheritance.
48:7
וַאֲנִ֣י׀ בְּבֹאִ֣י מִפַּדָּ֗ן מֵ֩תָה֩ עָלַ֨י רָחֵ֜ל בְּאֶ֤רֶץ כְּנַ֙עַן֙ בַּדֶּ֔רֶךְ בְּע֥וֹד כִּבְרַת־אֶ֖רֶץ לָבֹ֣א אֶפְרָ֑תָה וָאֶקְבְּרֶ֤הָ שָּׁם֙ בְּדֶ֣רֶךְ אֶפְרָ֔ת הִ֖וא בֵּ֥ית לָֽחֶם׃
ἐγὼ δὲ ἡνίκα ἠρχόμην ἐκ Μεσοποταμίας τῆς Συρίας ἀπέθανεν Ραχηλ ἡ μήτηρ σου ἐν γῇ Χανααν ἐγγίζοντός μου κατὰ τὸν ἱππόδρομον χαβραθα τῆς γῆς τοῦ ἐλθεῖν Εφραθα καὶ κατώρυξα αὐτὴν ἐν τῇ ὁδῷ τοῦ ἱπποδρόμου αὕτη ἐστὶν Βαιθλεεμ
Mihi enim, quando veniebam de Mesopotamia, mortua est Rachel in terra Chanaan in ipso itinere, eratque vernum tempus : et ingrediebar Ephratam, et sepelivi eam juxta viam Ephratae, quae alio nomine appellatur Bethlehem.
ወአመ ፡ መጻእኩ ፡ አነ ፡ እምስጴጦምያ ፡ ዘሶርያ ፡ ሞተት ፡ ራሔል ፡ እምከ ፡ በምድረ ፡ ከናአን ፡ ሶአበ ፡ ቀረብኩ ፡ ኀበ ፡ ምርዋጸ ፡ አፍራስ ፡ ብሔረ ፡ ኤፍራታ ፡ ለበጺሐ ፡ ኤፍራታ ፡ ወቀበርክዋ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ፍኖት ፡ ዘምርዋጸ ፡ አፍሪስ ፡ ዘስሙ ፡ ቤተ ፡ ሌሔም ።
As for me, when I came from Paddan, Rachel died beside me in the land of Canaan on the way, when there was still some distance to come to Ephrath, and I buried her there on the way to Ephrath (also called Bethlehem).”
48:8
וַיַּ֥רְא יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל אֶת־בְּנֵ֣י יוֹסֵ֑ף וַיֹּ֖אמֶר מִי־אֵֽלֶּה׃
ἰδὼν δὲ Ισραηλ τοὺς υἱοὺς Ιωσηφ εἶπεν τίνες σοι οὗτοι
Videns autem filios ejus dixit ad eum : Qui sunt isti ?
ወሶበ ፡ ርእየ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ ደቂቆ ፡ ለዮሴፍ ፡ ይቤሎ ፡ ምንትከ ፡ እሉ ።
Israel saw Joseph’s sons, and said, “Who are these?”
48:9
וַיֹּ֤אמֶר יוֹסֵף֙ אֶל־אָבִ֔יו בָּנַ֣י הֵ֔ם אֲשֶׁר־נָֽתַן־לִ֥י אֱלֹהִ֖ים בָּזֶ֑ה וַיֹּאמַ֕ר קָֽחֶם־נָ֥א אֵלַ֖י וַאֲבָרְכֵֽם׃
εἶπεν δὲ Ιωσηφ τῷ πατρὶ αὐτοῦ υἱοί μού εἰσιν οὓς ἔδωκέν μοι ὁ θεὸς ἐνταῦθα καὶ εἶπεν Ιακωβ προσάγαγέ μοι αὐτούς ἵνα εὐλογήσω αὐτούς
Respondit : Filii mei sunt, quos donavit mihi Deus in hoc loco. Adduc, inquit, eos ad me, ut benedicam illis.
ወይቤሎ ፡ ዮሴፍ ፡ ለአቡሁ ፡ ደቂቅየ ፡ እለ ፡ ወሀበኒ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ በዝየ ፡ ወይቤሎ ፡ ያዕቆብ ፡ አምጽኦሙ ፡ ኀቤየ ፡ ከመ ፡ እባርኮሙ ።
Joseph said to his father, “They are my sons, whom God has given me here.” He said, “Please bring them to me, and I will bless them.”
48:10
וְעֵינֵ֤י יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ כָּבְד֣וּ מִזֹּ֔קֶן לֹ֥א יוּכַ֖ל לִרְא֑וֹת וַיַּגֵּ֤שׁ אֹתָם֙ אֵלָ֔יו וַיִּשַּׁ֥ק לָהֶ֖ם וַיְחַבֵּ֥ק לָהֶֽם׃
οἱ δὲ ὀφθαλμοὶ Ισραηλ ἐβαρυώπησαν ἀπὸ τοῦ γήρους καὶ οὐκ ἠδύνατο βλέπειν καὶ ἤγγισεν αὐτοὺς πρὸς αὐτόν καὶ ἐφίλησεν αὐτοὺς καὶ περιέλαβεν αὐτούς
Oculi enim Israël caligabant prae nimia senectute, et clare videre non poterat. Applicitosque ad se, deosculatus et circumplexus eos,
ወአዕይንቲሁ ፡ ለእስራኤል ፡ ከብደ ፡ ወተከድና ፡ እምርሥእ ፡ ወኢይክል ፡ ከሢቶተ ፡ ወነጽሮ ፡ ወአቅረቦሙ ፡ ኀቤሁ ፡ ወሰዐሞሙ ፡ ወሐቀፎሙ ።
Now the eyes of Israel were dim for age, so that he couldn’t see well. Joseph brought them near to him; and he kissed them, and embraced them.
48:11
וַיֹּ֤אמֶר יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ אֶל־יוֹסֵ֔ף רְאֹ֥ה פָנֶ֖יךָ לֹ֣א פִלָּ֑לְתִּי וְהִנֵּ֨ה הֶרְאָ֥ה אֹתִ֛י אֱלֹהִ֖ים גַּ֥ם אֶת־זַרְעֶֽךָ׃
καὶ εἶπεν Ισραηλ πρὸς Ιωσηφ ἰδοὺ τοῦ προσώπου σου οὐκ ἐστερήθην καὶ ἰδοὺ ἔδειξέν μοι ὁ θεὸς καὶ τὸ σπέρμα σου
dixit ad filium suum : Non sum fraudatus aspectu tuo : insuper ostendit mihi Deus semen tuum.
ወይቤሎ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ ለዮሴፍ ፡ ናሁ ፡ ኢተፈለጥኩ ፡ እምገጽከ ፡ ወናሁ ፡ ዘርአከኒ ፡ አርአየኒ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ።
Israel said to Joseph, “I didn’t think I would see your face, and behold, God has let me see your offspring also.”
48:12
וַיּוֹצֵ֥א יוֹסֵ֛ף אֹתָ֖ם מֵעִ֣ם בִּרְכָּ֑יו וַיִּשְׁתַּ֥חוּ לְאַפָּ֖יו אָֽרְצָה׃
καὶ ἐξήγαγεν Ιωσηφ αὐτοὺς ἀπὸ τῶν γονάτων αὐτοῦ καὶ προσεκύνησαν αὐτῷ ἐπὶ πρόσωπον ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς
Cumque tulisset eos Joseph de gremio patris, adoravit pronus in terram.
ወአውፅኦሙ ፡ ዮሴፍ ፡ እማእከለ ፡ ብረኪሁ ፡ ወሰገደ ፡ ሎቱ ፡ በገጹ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ምድር ።
Joseph brought them out from between his knees, and he bowed himself with his face to the earth.
48:13
וַיִּקַּ֣ח יוֹסֵף֮ אֶת־שְׁנֵיהֶם֒ אֶת־אֶפְרַ֤יִם בִּֽימִינוֹ֙ מִשְּׂמֹ֣אל יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וְאֶת־מְנַשֶּׁ֥ה בִשְׂמֹאל֖וֹ מִימִ֣ין יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וַיַּגֵּ֖שׁ אֵלָֽיו׃
λαβὼν δὲ Ιωσηφ τοὺς δύο υἱοὺς αὐτοῦ τόν τε Εφραιμ ἐν τῇ δεξιᾷ ἐξ ἀριστερῶν δὲ Ισραηλ τὸν δὲ Μανασση ἐν τῇ ἀριστερᾷ ἐκ δεξιῶν δὲ Ισραηλ ἤγγισεν αὐτοὺς αὐτῷ
Et posuit Ephraim ad dexteram suam, id est, ad sinistram Israël : Manassen vero in sinistra sua, ad dexteram scilicet patris, applicuitque ambos ad eum.
ወነሥኦሙ ፡ ዮሴፍ ፡ ለክልኤሆሙ ፡ ደቂቁ ፡ ወአቀሞ ፡ ለኤፍሬም ፡ በየማኑ ፡ ኀበ ፡ ፀጋመ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ ወለምናሴ ፡ አቀሞ ፡ በፀጋሙ ፡ ኀበ ፡ የማነ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ ወአቀረቦሙ ፡ ኀበ ፡ አቡሁ ።
Joseph took them both, Ephraim in his right hand toward Israel’s left hand, and Manasseh in his left hand toward Israel’s right hand, and brought them near to him.
48:14
וַיִּשְׁלַח֩ יִשְׂרָאֵ֨ל אֶת־יְמִינ֜וֹ וַיָּ֨שֶׁת עַל־רֹ֤אשׁ אֶפְרַ֙יִם֙ וְה֣וּא הַצָּעִ֔יר וְאֶת־שְׂמֹאל֖וֹ עַל־רֹ֣אשׁ מְנַשֶּׁ֑ה שִׂכֵּל֙ אֶת־יָדָ֔יו כִּ֥י מְנַשֶּׁ֖ה הַבְּכֽוֹר׃
ἐκτείνας δὲ Ισραηλ τὴν χεῖρα τὴν δεξιὰν ἐπέβαλεν ἐπὶ τὴν κεφαλὴν Εφραιμ οὗτος δὲ ἦν ὁ νεώτερος καὶ τὴν ἀριστερὰν ἐπὶ τὴν κεφαλὴν Μανασση ἐναλλὰξ τὰς χεῖρας
Qui extendens manum dexteram, posuit super caput Ephraim minoris fratris : sinistram autem super caput Manasse qui major natu erat, commutans manus.
ወሰፍሐ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ እዴሁ ፡ እንተ ፡ የማን ፡ ወወደያ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ርእሰ ፡ ኤፍሬም ፡ ወውእቱ ፡ ይንእስ ፡ እምነ ፡ እኁሁ ፡ ወእዴሁ ፡ እንተ ፡ ፀጋም ፡ ወደያ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ርእሰ ፡ ምናሴ ፡ ወአስተኀለፈ ፡ እዴሁ ።
Israel stretched out his right hand, and laid it on Ephraim’s head, who was the younger, and his left hand on Manasseh’s head, guiding his hands knowingly, for Manasseh was the firstborn.
48:15
וַיְבָ֥רֶךְ אֶת־יוֹסֵ֖ף וַיֹּאמַ֑ר הָֽאֱלֹהִ֡ים אֲשֶׁר֩ הִתְהַלְּכ֨וּ אֲבֹתַ֤י לְפָנָיו֙ אַבְרָהָ֣ם וְיִצְחָ֔ק הָֽאֱלֹהִים֙ הָרֹעֶ֣ה אֹתִ֔י מֵעוֹדִ֖י עַד־הַיּ֥וֹם הַזֶּֽה׃
καὶ ηὐλόγησεν αὐτοὺς καὶ εἶπεν ὁ θεός ᾧ εὐηρέστησαν οἱ πατέρες μου ἐναντίον αὐτοῦ Αβρααμ καὶ Ισαακ ὁ θεὸς ὁ τρέφων με ἐκ νεότητος ἕως τῆς ἡμέρας ταύτης
Benedixitque Jacob filiis Joseph, et ait : Deus, in cujus conspectu ambulaverunt patres mei Abraham, et Isaac ; Deus qui pascit me ab adolescentia mea usque in praesentem diem :
ወባረኮሙ ፡ ወይቤ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ዘአሥመርዎ ፡ አበዊየ ፡ ቅድሜሁ ፡ አብርሃም ፡ ወይስሐቅ ፡ ወእግዚአብሔር ፡ ውእቱ ፡ ዘሐፀነኒ ፡ ወሴሰየኒ ፡ እምንእስየ ፡ እስከ ፡ ይእዜ ፡ ወእስከ ፡ ዛቲ ፡ ዕለት ፤
He blessed Joseph, and said, “The God before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac walked, the God who has fed me all my life long to this day,
48:16
הַמַּלְאָךְ֩ הַגֹּאֵ֨ל אֹתִ֜י מִכׇּל־רָ֗ע יְבָרֵךְ֮ אֶת־הַנְּעָרִים֒ וְיִקָּרֵ֤א בָהֶם֙ שְׁמִ֔י וְשֵׁ֥ם אֲבֹתַ֖י אַבְרָהָ֣ם וְיִצְחָ֑ק וְיִדְגּ֥וּ לָרֹ֖ב בְּקֶ֥רֶב הָאָֽרֶץ׃
ὁ ἄγγελος ὁ ῥυόμενός με ἐκ πάντων τῶν κακῶν εὐλογήσαι τὰ παιδία ταῦτα καὶ ἐπικληθήσεται ἐν αὐτοῖς τὸ ὄνομά μου καὶ τὸ ὄνομα τῶν πατέρων μου Αβρααμ καὶ Ισαακ καὶ πληθυνθείησαν εἰς πλῆθος πολὺ ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς
angelus, qui eruit me de cunctis malis, benedicat pueris istis : et invocetur super eos nomen meum, nomina quoque patrum meorum Abraham et Isaac, et crescant in multitudinem super terram.
ወመልአከ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ዘአድኀነኒ ፡ እምኵሉ ፡ እኪት ፡ ውእቱ ፡ ለይባርኮሙ ፡ ለእሉ ፡ ሕፃናት ፡ ወይሰመይ ፡ ስምየ ፡ በላዕሌሆሙ ፡ ወስመ ፡ አበዊየ ፡ አብርሃም ፡ ወይስሐቅ ፡ ወይብዝኁ ፡ ወይትባዝኁ ፡ ወይምልኡ ፡ ዲበ ፡ ምድር ።
the angel who has redeemed me from all evil, bless the lads, and let my name be named on them, and the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac. Let them grow into a multitude upon the earth.”
48:17
וַיַּ֣רְא יוֹסֵ֗ף כִּי־יָשִׁ֨ית אָבִ֧יו יַד־יְמִינ֛וֹ עַל־רֹ֥אשׁ אֶפְרַ֖יִם וַיֵּ֣רַע בְּעֵינָ֑יו וַיִּתְמֹ֣ךְ יַד־אָבִ֗יו לְהָסִ֥יר אֹתָ֛הּ מֵעַ֥ל רֹאשׁ־אֶפְרַ֖יִם עַל־רֹ֥אשׁ מְנַשֶּֽׁה׃
ἰδὼν δὲ Ιωσηφ ὅτι ἐπέβαλεν ὁ πατὴρ τὴν δεξιὰν αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ τὴν κεφαλὴν Εφραιμ βαρὺ αὐτῷ κατεφάνη καὶ ἀντελάβετο Ιωσηφ τῆς χειρὸς τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτοῦ ἀφελεῖν αὐτὴν ἀπὸ τῆς κεφαλῆς Εφραιμ ἐπὶ τὴν κεφαλὴν Μανασση
Videns autem Joseph quod posuisset pater suus dexteram manum super caput Ephraim, graviter accepit : et apprehensam manum patris levare conatus est de capite Ephraim, et transferre super caput Manasse.
ወሶበ ፡ ርእየ ፡ ዮሴፍ ፡ ከመ ፡ ወደየ ፡ እደሁ ፡ አቡሁ ፡ እንተ ፡ የማን ፡ ውስተ ፡ ርእሰ ፡ ኤፍሬም ፡ ወእንተ ፡ ፀጋም ፡ ላዕለ ፡ ርእሰ ፡ ምናሴ ፤
When Joseph saw that his father laid his right hand on the head of Ephraim, it displeased him. He held up his father’s hand, to remove it from Ephraim’s head to Manasseh’s head.
48:18
וַיֹּ֧אמֶר יוֹסֵ֛ף אֶל־אָבִ֖יו לֹא־כֵ֣ן אָבִ֑י כִּי־זֶ֣ה הַבְּכֹ֔ר שִׂ֥ים יְמִינְךָ֖ עַל־רֹאשֽׁוֹ׃
εἶπεν δὲ Ιωσηφ τῷ πατρὶ αὐτοῦ οὐχ οὕτως πάτερ οὗτος γὰρ ὁ πρωτότοκος ἐπίθες τὴν δεξιάν σου ἐπὶ τὴν κεφαλὴν αὐτοῦ
Dixitque ad patrem : Non ita convenit, pater : quia hic est primogenitus, pone dexteram tuam super caput ejus.
ወይቤሎ ፡ ዮሴፍ ፡ ለአቡሁ ፡ አኮ ፡ ከመዝ ፡ አባ ፡ እስመ ፡ ዝንቱ ፡ በኵርየ ፡ ደይ ፡ እዴከ ፡ እንተ ፡ የማን ፡ ላዕሌሁ ።
Joseph said to his father, “Not so, my father, for this is the firstborn. Put your right hand on his head.”
48:19
וַיְמָאֵ֣ן אָבִ֗יו וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ יָדַ֤עְתִּֽי בְנִי֙ יָדַ֔עְתִּי גַּם־ה֥וּא יִֽהְיֶה־לְּעָ֖ם וְגַם־ה֣וּא יִגְדָּ֑ל וְאוּלָ֗ם אָחִ֤יו הַקָּטֹן֙ יִגְדַּ֣ל מִמֶּ֔נּוּ וְזַרְע֖וֹ יִהְיֶ֥ה מְלֹֽא־הַגּוֹיִֽם׃
καὶ οὐκ ἠθέλησεν ἀλλὰ εἶπεν οἶδα τέκνον οἶδα καὶ οὗτος ἔσται εἰς λαόν καὶ οὗτος ὑψωθήσεται ἀλλὰ ὁ ἀδελφὸς αὐτοῦ ὁ νεώτερος μείζων αὐτοῦ ἔσται καὶ τὸ σπέρμα αὐτοῦ ἔσται εἰς πλῆθος ἐθνῶν
Qui renuens, ait : Scio, fili mi, scio : et iste quidem erit in populos, et multiplicabitur : sed frater ejus minor, major erit illo : et semen illius crescet in gentes.
ወይቤሎ ፡ አአምር ፡ ወልድየ ፡ አአምር ፡ ዝኒ ፡ ይከውን ፡ ሕዝበ ፡ ወዝኒ ፡ የዐቢ ፡ አላ ፡ እኁሁ ፡ ዘይንእስ ፡ የዐብዮ ፡ ወዘርኡ ፡ ብዙኅ ፡ አሕዛበ ፡ ይከውን ።
His father refused, and said, “I know, my son, I know. He also will become a people, and he also will be great. However, his younger brother will be greater than he, and his offspring will become a multitude of nations.”
48:20
וַיְבָ֨רְכֵ֜ם בַּיּ֣וֹם הַהוּא֮ לֵאמוֹר֒ בְּךָ֗ יְבָרֵ֤ךְ יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ לֵאמֹ֔ר יְשִֽׂמְךָ֣ אֱלֹהִ֔ים כְּאֶפְרַ֖יִם וְכִמְנַשֶּׁ֑ה וַיָּ֥שֶׂם אֶת־אֶפְרַ֖יִם לִפְנֵ֥י מְנַשֶּֽׁה׃
καὶ εὐλόγησεν αὐτοὺς ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ἐκείνῃ λέγων ἐν ὑμῖν εὐλογηθήσεται Ισραηλ λέγοντες ποιήσαι σε ὁ θεὸς ὡς Εφραιμ καὶ ὡς Μανασση καὶ ἔθηκεν τὸν Εφραιμ ἔμπροσθεν τοῦ Μανασση
Benedixitque eis in tempore illo, dicens : In te benedicetur Israël, atque dicetur : Faciat tibi Deus sicut Ephraim, et sicut Manasse. Constituitque Ephraim ante Manassen.
ወባረኮሙ ፡ በይእቲ ፡ ዕለት ፡ ወይቤ ፡ [ብክሙ ፡] ይትባረክ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ ወይ[በሉ] ፡ ይባርከ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ከመ ፡ ኤፍሬም ፡ ወምናሴ ።
He blessed them that day, saying, “Israel will bless in your name, saying, ‘God make you as Ephraim and as Manasseh’” He set Ephraim before Manasseh.
48:21
וַיֹּ֤אמֶר יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ אֶל־יוֹסֵ֔ף הִנֵּ֥ה אָנֹכִ֖י מֵ֑ת וְהָיָ֤ה אֱלֹהִים֙ עִמָּכֶ֔ם וְהֵשִׁ֣יב אֶתְכֶ֔ם אֶל־אֶ֖רֶץ אֲבֹתֵיכֶֽם׃
εἶπεν δὲ Ισραηλ τῷ Ιωσηφ ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἀποθνῄσκω καὶ ἔσται ὁ θεὸς μεθ’ ὑμῶν καὶ ἀποστρέψει ὑμᾶς εἰς τὴν γῆν τῶν πατέρων ὑμῶν
Et ait ad Joseph filium suum : En ego morior, et erit Deus vobiscum, reducetque vos ad terram patrum vestrorum.
ወይቤሎ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ ለዮሴፍ ፡ ናሁ ፡ አነ ፡ እመውት ፡ ወየሀሉ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ምስሌክሙ ፡ ወያግብእክሙ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ምድረ ፡ አበዊክሙ ።
Israel said to Joseph, “Behold, I am dying, but God will be with you, and bring you again to the land of your fathers.
48:22
וַאֲנִ֞י נָתַ֧תִּֽי לְךָ֛ שְׁכֶ֥ם אַחַ֖ד עַל־אַחֶ֑יךָ אֲשֶׁ֤ר לָקַ֙חְתִּי֙ מִיַּ֣ד הָֽאֱמֹרִ֔י בְּחַרְבִּ֖י וּבְקַשְׁתִּֽי׃ {פ}
ἐγὼ δὲ δίδωμί σοι Σικιμα ἐξαίρετον ὑπὲρ τοὺς ἀδελφούς σου ἣν ἔλαβον ἐκ χειρὸς Αμορραίων ἐν μαχαίρᾳ μου καὶ τόξῳ
Do tibi partem unam extra fratres tuos, quam tuli de manu Amorrhaei in gladio et arcu meo.
ወናሁ ፡ እሁበከ ፡ ምህርካ ፡ ሠናየ ፡ ዘይኄይስ ፡ እምዘ ፡ አኀዊከ ፡ ዘነሣእኩ ፡ እምእዴሆሙ ፡ ለአሞሬዎን ፡ በቀስትየ ፡ ወበኵናትየ ።
Moreover I have given to you one portion above your brothers, which I took out of the hand of the Amorite with my sword and with my bow.”
