8:1 ⧉ ⤴︎ Σαῦλος δὲ ἦν συνευδοκῶν τῇ ἀναιρέσει αὐτοῦ . Ἐγένετο δὲ ἐν ἐκείνῃ τῇ ἡμέρᾳ διωγμὸς μέγας ἐπὶ τὴν ἐκκλησίαν τὴν ἐν Ἱεροσολύμοις · πάντες διεσπάρησαν κατὰ τὰς χώρας τῆς Ἰουδαίας καὶ Σαμαρίας πλὴν τῶν ἀποστόλων .
Facta est autem in illa die persecutio magna in ecclesia quae erat Jerosolymis , et omnes dispersi sunt per regiones Judaeae et Samariae praeter Apostolos .
ወውእተ አሚረ ኮነ ዐቢይ ምንዳቤ ወሁከት በቤተ ክርስቲያን ዘኢየሩሳሌም ወተዘርዉ ኵሎሙ ውስተ ኵሉ በሐውርተ ይሁዳ ወሰማርያ ወገሊላ ዘእንበለ ሐዋርያት ባሕቲቶሙ ዘነበሩ በኢየሩሳሌም ።
Saul was consenting to his death. A great persecution arose against the assembly which was in Jerusalem in that day. They were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria, except for the apostles.
8:2 ⧉ ⤴︎ συνεκόμισαν δὲ τὸν Στέφανον ἄνδρες εὐλαβεῖς καὶ ἐποίησαν κοπετὸν μέγαν ἐπ’ αὐτῷ .
Curaverunt autem Stephanum viri timorati , et fecerunt planctum magnum super eum .
ወለእስጢፋኖስሰ ነሥእዎ ዕደው ጻድቃን ወቀበርዎ ወላሐውዎ ዐቢየ ላሐ ።
Devout men buried Stephen and lamented greatly over him.
8:3 ⧉ ⤴︎ Σαῦλος δὲ ἐλυμαίνετο τὴν ἐκκλησίαν κατὰ τοὺς οἴκους εἰσπορευόμενος , σύρων τε ἄνδρας καὶ γυναῖκας παρεδίδου εἰς φυλακήν .
Saulus autem devastabat ecclesiam per domos intrans , et trahens viros ac mulieres , tradebat in custodiam .
ወሳውልሰ ዓዲሁ ይትቄየም አብያተ ክርስቲያናት ወይደቢ አብያተ ሰብእ ወይስሕብ ዕደወ ወአንስተ ወይሞቅሕ ።
But Saul ravaged the assembly, entering into every house and dragged both men and women off to prison.
8:4 ⧉ ⤴︎ Οἱ μὲν οὖν διασπαρέντες διῆλθον εὐαγγελιζόμενοι τὸν λόγον .
Igitur qui dispersi erant pertransibant , evangelizantes verbum Dei .
ወእለሰ ተዘርዉ አንሶሰዉ ወመሀሩ ወሰበኩ ቃለ እግዚአብሔር ።
Therefore those who were scattered abroad went around preaching the word.
8:5 ⧉ ⤴︎ Φίλιππος δὲ κατελθὼν εἰς τὴν πόλιν τῆς Σαμαρίας ἐκήρυσσεν αὐτοῖς τὸν Χριστόν .
Philippus autem descendens in civitatem Samariae , praedicabat illis Christum .
ወወረደ ፊልጶስ ሀገረ ሰማርያ ወሰበከ ሎሙ በእንተ ክርስቶስ ።
Philip went down to the city of Samaria and proclaimed to them the Christ.
8:6 ⧉ ⤴︎ προσεῖχον δὲ οἱ ὄχλοι τοῖς λεγομένοις ὑπὸ τοῦ Φιλίππου ὁμοθυμαδὸν ἐν τῷ ἀκούειν αὐτοὺς καὶ βλέπειν τὰ σημεῖα ἃ ἐποίει ·
Intendebant autem turbae his quae a Philippo dicebantur , unanimiter audientes , et videntes signa quae faciebat .
ወአጽምዕዎ ሕዝብ ዘይነግሮሙ ፊልጶስ ወሰምዕዎ ኅቡረ ወያነክሩ ወይሬእዩ ተኣምረ ወመንክረ ዘይገብር ።
The multitudes listened with one accord to the things that were spoken by Philip when they heard and saw the signs which he did.
8:7 ⧉ ⤴︎ πολλοὶ γὰρ τῶν ἐχόντων πνεύματα ἀκάθαρτα βοῶντα φωνῇ μεγάλῃ ἐξήρχοντο , πολλοὶ δὲ παραλελυμένοι καὶ χωλοὶ ἐθεραπεύθησαν ·
Multi enim eorum qui habebant spiritus immundos , clamantes voce magna exibant . Multi autem paralytici et claudi curati sunt .
ወብዙኃን አጋንንት እኩያን ይኬልሑ በዐቢይ ቃል ወይወፅኡ ወብዙኃን ፅዉሳን ወሐንካሳን የሐይዉ ።
For unclean spirits came out of many of those who had them. They came out, crying with a loud voice. Many who had been paralyzed and lame were healed.
8:8 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἐγένετο δὲ πολλὴ χαρὰ ἐν τῇ πόλει ἐκείνῃ .
Factum est ergo gaudium magnum in illa civitate .
ወኮነ ዐቢይ ፍሥሓ በይእቲ ሀገር ።
There was great joy in that city.
8:9 ⧉ ⤴︎ Ἀνὴρ δέ τις ὀνόματι Σίμων προϋπῆρχεν ἐν τῇ πόλει μαγεύων καὶ ἐξιστάνων τὸ ἔθνος τῆς Σαμαρίας , λέγων εἶναί τινα ἑαυτὸν μέγαν ,
Vir autem quidam nomine Simon , qui ante fuerat in civitate magus , seducens gentem Samariae , dicens se esse aliquem magnum :
ወሀሎ አሐዱ ብእሲ በይእቲ ሀገር ዘስሙ ሲሞን ወያስሕቶሙ ለሕዝበ ሰማርያ ዘሥራይ ብእሲሁ ወይሬሲ ርእሶ ዐቢየ ።
But there was a certain man, Simon by name, who used to practice sorcery in the city and amazed the people of Samaria, making himself out to be some great one,
8:10 ⧉ ⤴︎ ᾧ προσεῖχον πάντες ἀπὸ μικροῦ ἕως μεγάλου λέγοντες , οὗτός ἐστιν ἡ δύναμις τοῦ θεοῦ ἡ καλουμένη μεγάλη .
cui auscultabant omnes a minimo usque ad maximum , dicentes : Hic est virtus Dei , quae vocatur magna .
ወይትአመንዎ ንኡሶሙ ወዐቢዮሙ ወይብሉ ዝ ውእቱ ኀይለ እግዚአብሔር ዐቢይ ።
to whom they all listened, from the least to the greatest, saying, “This man is that great power of God.”
8:11 ⧉ ⤴︎ προσεῖχον δὲ αὐτῷ διὰ τὸ ἱκανῷ χρόνῳ ταῖς μαγίαις ἐξεστακέναι αὐτούς .
Attendebant autem eum : propter quod multo tempore magiis suis dementasset eos .
ወያጸምዕዎ እስመ ጕንዱይ መዋዕል እምዘአስሐቶሙ በሥራዩ ።
They listened to him because for a long time he had amazed them with his sorceries.
8:12 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὅτε δὲ ἐπίστευσαν τῷ Φιλίππῳ εὐαγγελιζομένῳ περὶ τῆς βασιλείας τοῦ θεοῦ καὶ τοῦ ὀνόματος Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ , ἐβαπτίζοντο ἄνδρες τε καὶ γυναῖκες .
Cum vero credidissent Philippo evangelizanti de regno Dei , in nomine Jesu Christi baptizabantur viri ac mulieres .
ወሶበ አምንዎ ለፊልጶስ ዘሰበከ ሎሙ በእንተ መንግሥተ እግዚአብሔር ወበስመ ኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ ዕድ ወአንስት ተጠምቁ ።
But when they believed Philip preaching good news concerning God’s Kingdom and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.
8:13 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὁ δὲ Σίμων καὶ αὐτὸς ἐπίστευσεν , καὶ βαπτισθεὶς ἦν προσκαρτερῶν τῷ Φιλίππῳ , θεωρῶν τε σημεῖα καὶ δυνάμεις μεγάλας γινομένας ἐξίστατο .
Tunc Simon et ipse credidit : et cum baptizatus esset , adhaerebat Philippo . Videns etiam signa et virtutes maximas fieri , stupens admirabatur .
ወሲሞንሂ አምነ ወተጠምቀ ወነበረ ይፀመዶ ለፊልጶስ እስመ ይሬኢ ተኣምረ ወመንክረ ዘይከውን በእደዊሁ ወያነክር ወይዴመም ።
Simon himself also believed. Being baptized, he continued with Philip. Seeing signs and great miracles occurring, he was amazed.
8:14 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἀκούσαντες δὲ οἱ ἐν Ἱεροσολύμοις ἀπόστολοι ὅτι δέδεκται ἡ Σαμάρια τὸν λόγον τοῦ θεοῦ ἀπέστειλαν πρὸς αὐτοὺς Πέτρον καὶ Ἰωάννην ,
Cum autem audissent Apostoli qui erant Jerosolymis , quod recepisset Samaria verbum Dei , miserunt ad eos Petrum et Joannem .
ወሶበ ሰምዑ ሐዋርያት እለ ሀለዉ ኢየሩሳሌም ከመ ተወክፉ ሰብአ ሰማርያ ቃለ እግዚአብሔር ፈነዉ ኀቤሆሙ ጴጥሮስሃ ወዮሐንስሃ ።
Now when the apostles who were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent Peter and John to them,
8:15 ⧉ ⤴︎ οἵτινες καταβάντες προσηύξαντο περὶ αὐτῶν ὅπως λάβωσιν πνεῦμα ἅγιον ·
Qui cum venissent , oraverunt pro ipsis ut acciperent Spiritum Sanctum :
ወወረዱ ወጸለዩ ላዕሌሆሙ ከመ ይንሥኡ መንፈሰ ቅዱሰ ።
who, when they had come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Spirit;
8:16 ⧉ ⤴︎ οὐδέπω γὰρ ἦν ἐπ’ οὐδενὶ αὐτῶν ἐπιπεπτωκός , μόνον δὲ βεβαπτισμένοι ὑπῆρχον εἰς τὸ ὄνομα τοῦ κυρίου Ἰησοῦ .
nondum enim in quemquam illorum venerat , sed baptizati tantum erant in nomine Domini Jesu .
እስመ ዓዲሁ ኢወረደ መንፈስ ቅዱስ ወኢ ዲበ አሐዱሂ እምውስቴቶሙ ዳእሙ ተጠምቁ በስሙ ለእግዚእነ ኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ ።
for as yet he had fallen on none of them. They had only been baptized in the name of Christ Jesus.
8:17 ⧉ ⤴︎ τότε ἐπετίθεσαν τὰς χεῖρας ἐπ’ αὐτούς , καὶ ἐλάμβανον πνεῦμα ἅγιον .
Tunc imponebant manus super illos , et accipiebant Spiritum Sanctum .
ወእምዝ ወደዩ ሐዋርያት እደዊሆሙ ላዕሌሆሙ ወነሥኡ መንፈሰ ቅዱሰ ።
Then they laid their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.
8:18 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἰδὼν δὲ ὁ Σίμων ὅτι διὰ τῆς ἐπιθέσεως τῶν χειρῶν τῶν ἀποστόλων δίδοται τὸ πνεῦμα , προσήνεγκεν αὐτοῖς χρήματα
Cum vidisset autem Simon quia per impositionem manus Apostolorum daretur Spiritus Sanctus , obtulit eis pecuniam ,
ወሶበ ርእየ ሲሞን ከመ ኀበ ወደዩ እደዊሆሙ ሐዋርያት ይወርድ መንፈስ ቅዱስ አምጽአ ሎሙ ንዋየ ።
Now when Simon saw that the Holy Spirit was given through the laying on of the apostles’ hands, he offered them money,
8:19 ⧉ ⤴︎ λέγων , δότε κἀμοὶ τὴν ἐξουσίαν ταύτην ἵνα ᾧ ἐὰν ἐπιθῶ τὰς χεῖρας λαμβάνῃ πνεῦμα ἅγιον .
dicens : Date et mihi hanc potestatem , ut cuicumque imposuero manus , accipiat Spiritum Sanctum . Petrus autem dixit ad eum :
ወይቤሎሙ አብሑኒ ሊተኒ ወሀቡኒ ከመ ኀበ ወደይኩ እዴየ ይረድ መንፈስ ቅዱስ ።
saying, “Give me also this power, that whomever I lay my hands on may receive the Holy Spirit.”
8:20 ⧉ ⤴︎ Πέτρος δὲ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτόν , τὸ ἀργύριόν σου σὺν σοὶ εἴη εἰς ἀπώλειαν , ὅτι τὴν δωρεὰν τοῦ θεοῦ ἐνόμισας διὰ χρημάτων κτᾶσθαι .
Pecunia tua tecum sit in perditionem : quoniam donum Dei existimasti pecunia possideri .
ወይቤሎ ጴጥሮስ ወርቅከሰ ወብሩርከ ምስሌከ ለይኩንከ ለሕርትምና ይመስለከኑ ዘበወርቅ ትሣየጦ ለጸጋ እግዚአብሔር ።
But Peter said to him, “May your silver perish with you, because you thought you could obtain the gift of God with money!
8:21 ⧉ ⤴︎ οὐκ ἔστιν σοι μερὶς οὐδὲ κλῆρος ἐν τῷ λόγῳ τούτῳ , ἡ γὰρ καρδία σου οὐκ ἔστιν εὐθεῖα ἔναντι τοῦ θεοῦ .
Non est tibi pars neque sors in sermone isto : cor enim tuum non est rectum coram Deo .
አልብከ መክፈልት ወርስት ውስተ ዝ ነገር እስመ ኢኮነ ርቱዐ ልብከ በቅድመ እግዚአብሔር ።
You have neither part nor lot in this matter, for your heart isn’t right before God.
8:22 ⧉ ⤴︎ μετανόησον οὖν ἀπὸ τῆς κακίας σου ταύτης , καὶ δεήθητι τοῦ κυρίου εἰ ἄρα ἀφεθήσεταί σοι ἡ ἐπίνοια τῆς καρδίας σου ·
Poenitentiam itaque age ab hac nequitia tua : et roga Deum , si forte remittatur tibi haec cogitatio cordis tui .
ነስሕ ይእዜኒ እምእከይከ ወተጋነይ ለእግዚአብሔር ለእመ የኀድግ ለከ እከየ ልብከ ።
Repent therefore of this, your wickedness, and ask God if perhaps the thought of your heart may be forgiven you.
8:23 ⧉ ⤴︎ εἰς γὰρ χολὴν πικρίας καὶ σύνδεσμον ἀδικίας ὁρῶ σε ὄντα .
In felle enim amaritudinis , et obligatione iniquitatis , video te esse .
እስመ እሬእየከ ዘትነብር በሕምዝ መሪር ወውስተ ማእሰረ ዐመፃ ሀሎከ ።
For I see that you are in the poison of bitterness and in the bondage of iniquity.”
8:24 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἀποκριθεὶς δὲ ὁ Σίμων εἶπεν , δεήθητε ὑμεῖς ὑπὲρ ἐμοῦ πρὸς τὸν κύριον ὅπως μηδὲν ἐπέλθῃ ἐπ’ ἐμὲ ὧν εἰρήκατε .
Respondens autem Simon , dixit : Precamini vos pro me ad Dominum , ut nihil veniat super me horum quae dixistis .
ወተሰጥዎሙ ሲሞን ወይቤሎሙ ሰአሉ ሊተ አንትሙ ኀበ እግዚአብሔር ከመ ኢይብጽሐኒ ወኢምንተኒ እምዘትቤሉኒ ።
Simon answered, “Pray for me to the Lord, that none of the things which you have spoken happen to me.”
8:25 ⧉ ⤴︎ Οἱ μὲν οὖν διαμαρτυράμενοι καὶ λαλήσαντες τὸν λόγον τοῦ κυρίου ὑπέστρεφον εἰς Ἱεροσόλυμα , πολλάς τε κώμας τῶν Σαμαριτῶν εὐηγγελίζοντο .
Et illi quidem testificati , et locuti verbum Domini , redibant Jerosolymam , et multis regionibus Samaritanorum evangelizabant .
ወእሙንቱሰ ሶበ ነገሩ ወአስምዑ ቃለ እግዚአብሔር ተሠውጡ ኢየሩሳሌም ወመሀሩ ቃለ እግዚአብሔር ውስተ ብዙኃት አህጉረ ሰማርያ ።
They therefore, when they had testified and spoken the word of the Lord, returned to Jerusalem, and preached the Good News to many villages of the Samaritans.
8:26 ⧉ ⤴︎ Ἄγγελος δὲ κυρίου ἐλάλησεν πρὸς Φίλιππον λέγων · ἀνάστηθι καὶ πορεύου κατὰ μεσημβρίαν ἐπὶ τὴν ὁδὸν τὴν καταβαίνουσαν ἀπὸ Ἱερουσαλὴμ εἰς Γάζαν · αὕτη ἐστὶν ἔρημος .
Angelus autem Domini locutus est ad Philippum , dicens : Surge , et vade contra meridianum , ad viam quae descendit ab Jerusalem in Gazam : haec est deserta .
ወነበቦ መልአከ እግዚአብሔር ለፊልጶስ ወይቤሎ ተንሥእ ወሑር ጊዜ ቀትር ፍኖተ በድው ዘያወርድ እምኢየሩሳሌም ለጋዛ ።
Then an angel of the Lord spoke to Philip, saying, “Arise, and go toward the south to the way that goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza. This is a desert.”
8:27 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἀναστὰς ἐπορεύθη · καὶ ἰδοὺ ἀνὴρ Αἰθίοψ εὐνοῦχος δυνάστης Κανδάκης βασιλίσσης Αἰθιόπων , ὃς ἦν ἐπὶ πάσης τῆς γάζης αὐτῆς , ἐληλύθει προσκυνήσων εἰς Ἱερουσαλήμ ,
Et surgens abiit . Et ecce vir Aethiops , eunuchus , potens Candacis reginae Aethiopum , qui erat super omnes gazas ejus , venerat adorare in Jerusalem :
ወተንሥአ ወሖረ ወረከበ ብእሴ እምሰብአ ኢትዮጵያ ኅጽዋ ለህንደኬ ንግሥተ ኢትዮጵያ ወመጋቢሃ ውእቱ ላዕለ ኵሉ መዛግብቲሃ ወሖረ ኢየሩሳሌም ይስግድ ።
He arose and went; and behold, there was a man of Ethiopia, a eunuch of great authority under Candace, queen of the Ethiopians, who was over all her treasure, who had come to Jerusalem to worship.
8:28 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἦν τε ὑποστρέφων καὶ καθήμενος ἐπὶ τοῦ ἅρματος αὐτοῦ ἀνεγίνωσκεν τὸν προφήτην Ἠσαΐαν .
et revertebatur sedens super currum suum , legensque Isaiam prophetam .
ወእንዘ ይገብእ ነበረ ዲበ ሠረገላሁ ወያነብብ መጽሐፈ ኢሳይያስ ነቢይ ።
He was returning and sitting in his chariot, and was reading the prophet Isaiah.
8:29 ⧉ ⤴︎ εἶπεν δὲ τὸ πνεῦμα τῷ Φιλίππῳ , πρόσελθε καὶ κολλήθητι τῷ ἅρματι τούτῳ .
Dixit autem Spiritus Philippo : Accede , et adjunge te ad currum istum .
ወይቤሎ መንፈስ ቅዱስ ለፊልጶስ ሑር ትልዎ ለዝ ሠረገላ ።
The Spirit said to Philip, “Go near, and join yourself to this chariot.”
8:30 ⧉ ⤴︎ προσδραμὼν δὲ ὁ Φίλιππος ἤκουσεν αὐτοῦ ἀναγινώσκοντος Ἠσαΐαν τὸν προφήτην , καὶ εἶπεν · ἆράγε γινώσκεις ἃ ἀναγινώσκεις ;
Accurrens autem Philippus , audivit eum legentem Isaiam prophetam , et dixit : Putasne intelligis quae legis ?
ወሮጸ ፊልጶስ ወበጽሐ ወሰምዖ ያነብብ መጽሐፈ ኢሳይያስ ነቢይ ወይቤሎ ፊልጶስ ተአምርኑ እንከ ዘታነብብ ።
Philip ran to him, and heard him reading Isaiah the prophet, and said, “Do you understand what you are reading?”
8:31 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὁ δὲ εἶπεν , πῶς γὰρ ἂν δυναίμην ἐὰν μή τις ὁδηγήσει με ; παρεκάλεσέν τε τὸν Φίλιππον ἀναβάντα καθίσαι σὺν αὐτῷ .
Qui ait : Et quomodo possum , si non aliquis ostenderit mihi ? Rogavitque Philippum ut ascenderet , et sederet secum .
ወይቤሎ ኅጽው በአይቴ አአምር ለእመ አልቦ ዘመሀረኒ ወአስተብቍዖ ለፊልጶስ ከመ ይዕርግ ወይንበር ኅቡረ ምስሌሁ ።
He said, “How can I, unless someone explains it to me?” He begged Philip to come up and sit with him.
8:32 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἡ δὲ περιοχὴ τῆς γραφῆς ἣν ἀνεγίνωσκεν ἦν αὕτη · ὡς πρόβατον ἐπὶ σφαγὴν ἤχθη , καὶ ὡς ἀμνὸς ἐναντίον τοῦ κείραντος αὐτὸν ἄφωνος , οὕτως οὐκ ἀνοίγει τὸ στόμα αὐτοῦ .
Locus autem Scripturae quem legebat , erat hic : Tamquam ovis ad occisionem ductus est : et sicut agnus coram tondente se , sine voce , sic non aperuit os suum .
ወነገረ መጽሐፍሰ ኀበ ያነብብ ከመዝ ይብል «መጽአ ከመ በግዕ ይጠባሕ ወከመ በግዕ ዘኢይነብብ በቅድመ ዘይቀርፆ ከማሁ ኢከሠተ አፉሁ በሕማሙ ።
Now the passage of the Scripture which he was reading was this, “He was led as a sheep to the slaughter. As a lamb before his shearer is silent, so he doesn’t open his mouth.
8:33 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἐν τῇ ταπεινώσει ἡ κρίσις αὐτοῦ ἤρθη · τὴν γενεὰν αὐτοῦ τίς διηγήσεται ; ὅτι αἴρεται ἀπὸ τῆς γῆς ἡ ζωὴ αὐτοῦ .
In humilitate judicium ejus sublatum est . Generationem ejus quis enarrabit ? quoniam tolletur de terra vita ejus .
ወተንሥአ እምኵነኔ ወእምነ ሞቅሕ ወመኑ ይነግር ልደቶ እስመ ተአተተ እምድር ሕይወቱ ።»
In his humiliation, his judgment was taken away. Who will declare His generation? For his life is taken from the earth.”
8:34 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἀποκριθεὶς δὲ ὁ εὐνοῦχος τῷ Φιλίππῳ εἶπεν , δέομαί σου , περὶ τίνος ὁ προφήτης λέγει τοῦτο ; περὶ ἑαυτοῦ ἢ περὶ ἑτέρου τινός ;
Respondens autem eunuchus Philippo , dixit : Obsecro te , de quo propheta dicit hoc ? de se , an de alio aliquo ?
ወተመይጠ ኀበ ፊልጶስ ውእቱ ኅጽው ወይቤሎ ብቍዐኒ ወንግረኒ በእንተ መኑ ይብል ነቢይ ከመዝ በእንተ ርእሱኑ ወሚመ በእንተ ካልእ ።
The eunuch answered Philip, “Who is the prophet talking about? About himself, or about someone else?”
8:35 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἀνοίξας δὲ ὁ Φίλιππος τὸ στόμα αὐτοῦ καὶ ἀρξάμενος ἀπὸ τῆς γραφῆς ταύτης εὐηγγελίσατο αὐτῷ τὸν Ἰησοῦν .
Aperiens autem Philippus os suum , et incipiens a Scriptura ista , evangelizavit illi Jesum .
ወከሠተ አፉሁ ፊልጶስ ወአኀዘ ይምሀሮ በእንተ ኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ ወይፈክር ሎቱ በውእቱ መጽሐፍ ።
Philip opened his mouth, and beginning from this Scripture, preached to him about Jesus.
8:36 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὡς δὲ ἐπορεύοντο κατὰ τὴν ὁδόν , ἦλθον ἐπί τι ὕδωρ , καί φησιν ὁ εὐνοῦχος · ἰδοὺ ὕδωρ · τί κωλύει με βαπτισθῆναι ;
Et dum irent per viam , venerunt ad quamdam aquam : et ait eunuchus : Ecce aqua : quid prohibet me baptizari ?
ወእንዘ የሐውሩ በጽሑ ኀበ ማይ ወይቤሎ ውእቱ ኅጽው ነዋ ማይ ወመኑ ይከልአኒ ተጠምቆ ።
As they went on the way, they came to some water; and the eunuch said, “Behold, here is water. What is keeping me from being baptized?”
8:37 ⧉ ⤴︎ — Dixit autem Philippus : Si credis ex toto corde , licet . Et respondens ait : Credo Filium Dei esse Jesum Christum .
ወይቤሎ ፊልጶስ ይደልወከ ከመ ትእመን በኵሉ ልቡናከ ወአውሥአ ውእቱ ኅጽው ወይቤ አነ አአምን ከመ ኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ ውእቱ ወልዱ ለእግዚአብሔር ።
As they went on the way, they came to some water; and the eunuch said, “Behold, here is water. What is keeping me from being baptized?”
8:38 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἐκέλευσεν στῆναι τὸ ἅρμα , καὶ κατέβησαν ἀμφότεροι εἰς τὸ ὕδωρ ὅ τε Φίλιππος καὶ ὁ εὐνοῦχος , καὶ ἐβάπτισεν αὐτόν .
Et jussit stare currum : et descenderunt uterque in aquam , Philippus et eunuchus , et baptizavit eum .
ወአዘዘ ያቅሙ ሠረገላሁ ወአቀሙ ወወረዱ ኅቡረ ኀበ ማይ ፊልጶስ ወውእቱ ኅጽው ወአጥመቆ ።
He commanded the chariot to stand still, and they both went down into the water, both Philip and the eunuch, and he baptized him.
8:39 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὅτε δὲ ἀνέβησαν ἐκ τοῦ ὕδατος , πνεῦμα κυρίου ἥρπασεν τὸν Φίλιππον , καὶ οὐκ εἶδεν αὐτὸν οὐκέτι ὁ εὐνοῦχος · ἐπορεύετο γὰρ τὴν ὁδὸν αὐτοῦ χαίρων .
Cum autem ascendissent de aqua , Spiritus Domini rapuit Philippum , et amplius non vidit eum eunuchus . Ibat autem per viam suam gaudens .
ወወፂኦሙ እማይ መንፈሰ እግዚአብሔር መሠጦ ለፊልጶስ ወኢርእዮ እንከ ውእቱ ኅጽው ። ወአተወ ብሔሮ እንዘ ይትፌሣሕ ።
When they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught Philip away, and the eunuch didn’t see him any more, for he went on his way rejoicing.
8:40 ⧉ ⤴︎ Φίλιππος δὲ εὑρέθη εἰς Ἄζωτον , καὶ διερχόμενος εὐηγγελίζετο τὰς πόλεις πάσας ἕως τοῦ ἐλθεῖν αὐτὸν εἰς Καισάριαν .
Philippus autem inventus est in Azoto , et pertransiens evangelizabat civitatibus cunctis , donec veniret Caesaream .
ወበጽሐ ፊልጶስ ሀገረ አዛጦን ወአንሶሰወ ወመሀረ በኵሉ አህጉር እስከ በጽሐ ቂሳርያ ።
But Philip was found at Azotus. Passing through, he preached the Good News to all the cities until he came to Caesarea.
