7:1 ⧉ ⤴︎ וּכְכַלּ֤וֹת שְׁלֹמֹה֙ לְהִתְפַּלֵּ֔ל וְהָאֵ֗שׁ יָֽרְדָה֙ מֵֽהַשָּׁמַ֔יִם וַתֹּ֥אכַל הָעֹלָ֖ה וְהַזְּבָחִ֑ים וּכְב֥וֹד יְהֹוָ֖ה מָלֵ֥א אֶת ־הַבָּֽיִת ׃
καὶ ὡς συνετέλεσεν Σαλωμων προσευχόμενος καὶ τὸ πῦρ κατέβη ἐκ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ καὶ κατέφαγεν τὰ ὁλοκαυτώματα καὶ τὰς θυσίας καὶ δόξα κυρίου ἔπλησεν τὸν οἶκον
Cumque complesset Salomon fundens preces , ignis descendit de caelo , et devoravit holocausta et victimas : et majestas Domini implevit domum .
ወሶበ ፡ ፈጸመ ፡ ሰሎሞን ፡ ዘንተ ፡ ጸሎተ ፡ ወረደ ፡ እሳት ፡ እምሰማይ ፡ ወበልዐ ፡ ወአኅለቀ ፡ ኵሎ ፡ ቊርባናተ ፡ ወኵሎ ፡ መሥዋዕተ ፡ ወስብሐተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ መልአ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ ቤት ።
Now when Solomon had finished praying, fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and Yahweh’s glory filled the house.
7:2 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְלֹ֤א יָֽכְלוּ֙ הַכֹּ֣הֲנִ֔ים לָב֖וֹא אֶל ־בֵּ֣ית יְהֹוָ֑ה כִּֽי ־מָלֵ֥א כְבוֹד ־יְהֹוָ֖ה אֶת ־בֵּ֥ית יְהֹוָֽה ׃
καὶ οὐκ ἠδύναντο οἱ ἱερεῖς εἰσελθεῖν εἰς τὸν οἶκον κυρίου ἐν τῷ καιρῷ ἐκείνῳ ὅτι ἔπλησεν δόξα κυρίου τὸν οἶκον
Nec poterant sacerdotes ingredi templum Domini , eo quod implesset majestas Domini templum Domini .
ወኢክህሉ ፡ እንከ ፡ ዳግመ ፡ ካህናት ፡ በዊአ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ቤተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ በይእቲ ፡ ዕለት ፡ እስመ ፡ ስብሐተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ መልአ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ ቤት ።
The priests could not enter into Yahweh’s house, because Yahweh’s glory filled Yahweh’s house.
7:3 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְכֹ֣ל ׀ בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל רֹאִים֙ בְּרֶ֣דֶת הָאֵ֔שׁ וּכְב֥וֹד יְהֹוָ֖ה עַל ־הַבָּ֑יִת וַיִּכְרְעוּ֩ אַפַּ֨יִם אַ֤רְצָה עַל ־הָרִֽצְפָה֙ וַיִּֽשְׁתַּחֲו֔וּ וְהֹד֤וֹת לַֽיהֹוָה֙ כִּ֣י ט֔וֹב כִּ֥י לְעוֹלָ֖ם חַסְדּֽוֹ ׃
καὶ πάντες οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ ἑώρων καταβαῖνον τὸ πῦρ καὶ ἡ δόξα κυρίου ἐπὶ τὸν οἶκον καὶ ἔπεσον ἐπὶ πρόσωπον ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν ἐπὶ τὸ λιθόστρωτον καὶ προσεκύνησαν καὶ ᾔνουν τῷ κυρίῳ ὅτι ἀγαθόν ὅτι εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα τὸ ἔλεος αὐτοῦ
Sed et omnes filii Israël videbant descendentem ignem , et gloriam Domini super domum : et corruentes proni in terram super pavimentum stratum lapide , adoraverunt , et laudaverunt Dominum , quoniam bonus , quoniam in saeculum misericordia ejus .
ወኵሎሙ ፡ ደቂቀ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ ርእይዋ ፡ ለይእቲ ፡ እሳት ፡ እንዘ ፡ ትወርድ ፡ ወስብሐተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ላዕለ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ ቤት ፡ ወወድቁ ፡ በገጾሙ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ምድር ፡ ውስተ ፡ መካን ፡ ዘስሙ ፡ ሊቶስጥሮስ ፡ ዘበትርጓሜሁ ፡ ጸፍጸፍ ፡ ብሂል ፡ ወሰገዱ ፡ በህየ ፡ ወሰብሕዎ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ እንዘ ፡ ይብሉ ፡ እስመ ፡ ኄር ፡ እስመ ፡ ለዓለም ፡ ምሕረቱ ።
All the children of Israel looked on, when the fire came down, and Yahweh’s glory was on the house. They bowed themselves with their faces to the ground on the pavement, worshiped, and gave thanks to Yahweh, saying, “For he is good, for his loving kindness endures forever!”
7:4 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְהַמֶּ֖לֶךְ וְכׇל ־הָעָ֑ם זֹבְחִ֥ים זֶ֖בַח לִפְנֵ֥י יְהֹוָֽה ׃ {ס}
καὶ ὁ βασιλεὺς καὶ πᾶς ὁ λαὸς θύοντες θύματα ἔναντι κυρίου
Rex autem et omnis populus immolabant victimas coram Domino .
ወሰሎሞን ፡ ንጉሥ ፡ ወኵሎሙ ፡ ሕዝበ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ ሦዑ ፡ መሥዋዕተ ፡ በቅድመ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ።
Then the king and all the people offered sacrifices before Yahweh.
7:5 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיִּזְבַּ֞ח הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ שְׁלֹמֹה֮ אֶת ־זֶ֣בַח הַבָּקָר֒ עֶשְׂרִ֤ים וּשְׁנַ֙יִם֙ אֶ֔לֶף וְצֹ֕אן מֵאָ֥ה וְעֶשְׂרִ֖ים אָ֑לֶף וַֽיַּחְנְכוּ֙ אֶת ־בֵּ֣ית הָאֱלֹהִ֔ים הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ וְכׇל ־הָעָֽם ׃
καὶ ἐθυσίασεν Σαλωμων τὴν θυσίαν μόσχων εἴκοσι καὶ δύο χιλιάδας καὶ βοσκημάτων ἑκατὸν καὶ εἴκοσι χιλιάδας καὶ ἐνεκαίνισεν τὸν οἶκον τοῦ θεοῦ ὁ βασιλεὺς καὶ πᾶς ὁ λαός
Mactavit igitur rex Salomon hostias , boum viginti duo millia , arietum centum viginti millia : et dedicavit domum Dei rex , et universus populus .
ወሦዐ ፡ ሰሎሞን ፡ በይእቲ ፡ ዕለት ፡ መሥዋዕተ ፡ አልሕምት ፡ ክልኤተ ፡ እልፈ ፡ ወዕሥራ ፡ ምእተ ፡ ወአባግዐ ፡ ዓሠርተ ፡ ወክልኤተ ፡ እልፈ ፡ ወገብረ ፡ ወሐደሰ ፡ ቤተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ሰሎሞን ፡ ንጉሥ ፡ ወኵሎሙ ፡ ሕዝበ ፡ እስራኤል ።
King Solomon offered a sacrifice of twenty-two thousand head of cattle and a hundred twenty thousand sheep. So the king and all the people dedicated God’s house.
7:6 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְהַכֹּהֲנִ֞ים עַל ־מִשְׁמְרוֹתָ֣ם עֹמְדִ֗ים וְהַלְוִיִּ֞ם בִּכְלֵי ־שִׁ֤יר יְהֹוָה֙ אֲשֶׁ֨ר עָשָׂ֜ה דָּוִ֣יד הַמֶּ֗לֶךְ לְהֹד֤וֹת לַֽיהֹוָה֙ כִּֽי ־לְעוֹלָ֣ם חַסְדּ֔וֹ בְּהַלֵּ֥ל דָּוִ֖יד בְּיָדָ֑ם וְהַכֹּֽהֲנִים֙ (מחצצרים ) [מַחְצְרִ֣ים ] נֶגְדָּ֔ם וְכׇל ־יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל עֹמְדִֽים ׃ {ס}
καὶ οἱ ἱερεῖς ἐπὶ τὰς φυλακὰς αὐτῶν ἑστηκότες καὶ οἱ Λευῖται ἐν ὀργάνοις ᾠδῶν κυρίου τοῦ Δαυιδ τοῦ βασιλέως τοῦ ἐξομολογεῖσθαι ἔναντι κυρίου ὅτι εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα τὸ ἔλεος αὐτοῦ ἐν ὕμνοις Δαυιδ διὰ χειρὸς αὐτῶν καὶ οἱ ἱερεῖς σαλπίζοντες ταῖς σάλπιγξιν ἐναντίον αὐτῶν καὶ πᾶς Ισραηλ ἑστηκώς
Sacerdotes autem stabant in officiis suis , et Levitae in organis carminum Domini , quae fecit David rex ad laudandum Dominum : Quoniam in aeternum misericordia ejus , hymnos David canentes per manus suas : porro sacerdotes canebant tubis ante eos , cunctusque Israël stabat .
ወካህናትኒ ፡ ይቀውሙ ፡ ወየዐቅቡ ፡ በበምቅዋማቲሆሙ ፡ ወሌዋውያንሰ ፡ ዘበአርጋኖን ፡ ዘበትርጓሜሁ ፡ እንዚራ ፡ ብሂል ፡ ይፌንዉ ፡ ማኅሌተ ፡ ለእግዚአብሄር ፡ ዘገብረ ፡ ዳዊት ፡ ንጉሥ ፡ ከመ ፡ ይግነዩ ፡ በቅድመ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ እስመ ፡ ኄር ፡ እስመ ፡ ለዓለም ፡ ምሕረቱ ፡ በማኅሌት ፡ በስብሐት ፡ ወበመዝሙር ፡ ዘዳዊት ፡ ወበእደዊሆሙ ፡ ካህናትኒ ፡ ይነፍሑ ፡ ቀርነ ፡ በአንፃሪሆሙ ፡ ወኵሎሙ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ ይቀውም ።
The priests stood, according to their positions; the Levites also with instruments of music of Yahweh, which David the king had made to give thanks to Yahweh, when David praised by their ministry, saying “For his loving kindness endures forever.” The priests sounded trumpets before them; and all Israel stood.
7:7 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיְקַדֵּ֣שׁ שְׁלֹמֹ֗ה אֶת ־תּ֤וֹךְ הֶחָצֵר֙ אֲשֶׁר֙ לִפְנֵ֣י בֵית ־יְהֹוָ֔ה כִּי ־עָ֤שָׂה שָׁם֙ הָעֹל֔וֹת וְאֵ֖ת חֶלְבֵ֣י הַשְּׁלָמִ֑ים כִּֽי ־מִזְבַּ֤ח הַנְּחֹ֙שֶׁת֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר עָשָׂ֣ה שְׁלֹמֹ֔ה לֹ֣א יָכ֗וֹל לְהָכִ֛יל אֶת ־הָעֹלָ֥ה וְאֶת ־הַמִּנְחָ֖ה וְאֶת ־הַחֲלָבִֽים ׃
καὶ ἡγίασεν Σαλωμων τὸ μέσον τῆς αὐλῆς τῆς ἐν οἴκῳ κυρίου ὅτι ἐποίησεν ἐκεῖ τὰ ὁλοκαυτώματα καὶ τὰ στέατα τῶν σωτηρίων ὅτι τὸ θυσιαστήριον τὸ χαλκοῦν ὃ ἐποίησεν Σαλωμων οὐκ ἐξεποίει δέξασθαι τὰ ὁλοκαυτώματα καὶ τὰ μαναα καὶ τὰ στέατα
Sanctificavit quoque Salomon medium atrii ante templum Domini : obtulerat enim ibi holocausta et adipes pacificorum : quia altare aeneum quod fecerat , non poterat sustinere holocausta et sacrificia et adipes .
ወገብረ ፡ ወቀደሰ ፡ ሰሎሞን ፡ ውስተ ፡ ዓፀደ ፡ ቤተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ እስመ ፡ በህየ ፡ ገብረ ፡ ጽንሐሐ ፡ ወመቋዕልተ ፡ ወመሥዋዕተ ፡ መድኃኒት ፡ እስመ ፡ ቤተ ፡ ምሥዋዕ ፡ ዘብርት ፡ ዘገብረ ፡ ሰሎሞን ፡ ኢክህለ ፡ ከመ ፡ ያግብሮ ፡ ለጽንሐሕ ፡ ወለቊርባን ፡ ወለመቋዕልት ።
Moreover Solomon made the middle of the court that was before Yahweh’s house holy; for there he offered the burnt offerings and the fat of the peace offerings, because the bronze altar which Solomon had made was not able to receive the burnt offering, the meal offering, and the fat.
7:8 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיַּ֣עַשׂ שְׁלֹמֹ֣ה אֶת ־הֶ֠חָ֠ג בָּעֵ֨ת הַהִ֜יא שִׁבְעַ֤ת יָמִים֙ וְכׇל ־יִשְׂרָאֵ֣ל עִמּ֔וֹ קָהָ֖ל גָּד֣וֹל מְאֹ֑ד מִלְּב֥וֹא חֲמָ֖ת עַד ־נַ֥חַל מִצְרָֽיִם ׃
καὶ ἐποίησεν Σαλωμων τὴν ἑορτὴν ἐν τῷ καιρῷ ἐκείνῳ ἑπτὰ ἡμέραις καὶ πᾶς Ισραηλ μετ’ αὐτοῦ ἐκκλησία μεγάλη σφόδρα ἀπὸ εἰσόδου Αιμαθ καὶ ἕως χειμάρρου Αἰγύπτου
Fecit ergo Salomon solemnitatem in tempore illo septem diebus , et omnis Israël cum eo , ecclesia magna valde , ab introitu Emath usque ad torrentem Aegypti .
ወገብረ ፡ ሰሎሞን ፡ በዓለ ፡ በውእቱ ፡ መዋዕል ፡ ሰቡዐ ፡ ዕለት ፡ ወኵሉ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ ምስሌሁ ፡ ግቡአን ፡ ወኮነ ፡ ማኅበር ፡ ዓቢይ ፡ ፈድፋደ ፡ እምብዋአ ፡ ኤማት ፡ እስከ ፡ ፈለግ ፡ ዘግብፅ ።
So Solomon held the feast at that time for seven days, and all Israel with him, a very great assembly, from the entrance of Hamath to the brook of Egypt.
7:9 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַֽיַּעֲשׂ֛וּ בַּיּ֥וֹם הַשְּׁמִינִ֖י עֲצָ֑רֶת כִּ֣י ׀ חֲנֻכַּ֣ת הַמִּזְבֵּ֗חַ עָשׂוּ֙ שִׁבְעַ֣ת יָמִ֔ים וְהֶחָ֖ג שִׁבְעַ֥ת יָמִֽים ׃
καὶ ἐποίησεν ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ τῇ ὀγδόῃ ἐξόδιον ὅτι ἐγκαινισμὸν τοῦ θυσιαστηρίου ἐποίησεν ἑπτὰ ἡμέρας ἑορτήν
Fecitque die octavo collectam , eo quod dedicasset altare septem diebus , et solemnitatem celebrasset diebus septem .
ወበሳኒታ ፡ በሳምን ፡ ዕለት ፡ ገብረ ፡ ሰሎሞን ፡ ሙፃአ ፡ እስመ ፡ ተሐደሰ ፡ ወተቀደሰ ፡ ቤተ ፡ ምስዋዕ ፡ ወገብረ ፡ ሰሎሞን ፡ በውእቱ ፡ መዋዕል ፡ በዓለ ፡ ሰቡዐ ፡ ዕለተ ።
On the eighth day, they held a solemn assembly; for they kept the dedication of the altar seven days, and the feast seven days.
7:10 ⧉ ⤴︎ וּבְי֨וֹם עֶשְׂרִ֤ים וּשְׁלֹשָׁה֙ לַחֹ֣דֶשׁ הַשְּׁבִיעִ֔י שִׁלַּ֥ח אֶת ־הָעָ֖ם לְאׇהֳלֵיהֶ֑ם שְׂמֵחִים֙ וְט֣וֹבֵי לֵ֔ב עַל ־הַטּוֹבָ֗ה אֲשֶׁ֨ר עָשָׂ֤ה יְהֹוָה֙ לְדָוִ֣יד וְלִשְׁלֹמֹ֔ה וּלְיִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל עַמּֽוֹ ׃
καὶ ἐν τῇ τρίτῃ καὶ εἰκοστῇ τοῦ μηνὸς τοῦ ἑβδόμου ἀπέστειλεν τὸν λαὸν εἰς τὰ σκηνώματα αὐτῶν εὐφραινομένους καὶ ἀγαθῇ καρδίᾳ ἐπὶ τοῖς ἀγαθοῖς οἷς ἐποίησεν κύριος τῷ Δαυιδ καὶ τῷ Σαλωμων καὶ τῷ Ισραηλ λαῷ αὐτοῦ
Igitur in die vigesimo tertio mensis septimi , dimisit populos ad tabernacula sua , laetantes atque gaudentes super bono quod fecerat Dominus Davidi , et Salomoni , et Israëli populo suo .
ወአመ ፡ ዕሥራ ፡ ወሠሉሱ ፡ ለወርኅ ፡ ሳብዕ ፡ ፈነዎሙ ፡ ለሕዝብ ፡ ኀበ ፡ ማኅደሪሆሙ ፡ ወአተዉ ፡ እንዘ ፡ ይተፌሥሑ ፡ ወይትኃሠዩ ፡ በልብ ፡ ፍሡሕ ፡ ወአዳም ፡ ወዲበ ፡ ሠናይቱ ፡ እንተ ፡ ገብረ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ለዳዊት ፡ ወለሰሎሞን ፡ ወለሕዝበ ፡ እስራኤል ።
On the twenty-third day of the seventh month, he sent the people away to their tents, joyful and glad of heart for the goodness that Yahweh had shown to David, to Solomon, and to Israel his people.
7:11 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיְכַ֧ל שְׁלֹמֹ֛ה אֶת ־בֵּ֥ית יְהֹוָ֖ה וְאֶת ־בֵּ֣ית הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ וְאֵ֨ת כׇּל ־הַבָּ֜א עַל ־לֵ֣ב שְׁלֹמֹ֗ה לַעֲשׂ֧וֹת בְּבֵית ־יְהֹוָ֛ה וּבְבֵית֖וֹ הִצְלִֽיחַ ׃ {פ}
καὶ συνετέλεσεν Σαλωμων τὸν οἶκον κυρίου καὶ τὸν οἶκον τοῦ βασιλέως καὶ πάντα ὅσα ἠθέλησεν ἐν τῇ ψυχῇ Σαλωμων τοῦ ποιῆσαι ἐν οἴκῳ κυρίου καὶ ἐν οἴκῳ αὐτοῦ εὐοδώθη
Complevitque Salomon domum Domini , et domum regis , et omnia quae disposuerat in corde suo ut faceret in domo Domini , et in domo sua , et prosperatus est .
ወሐነፀ ፡ ወፈጸመ ፡ ሰሎሞን ፡ ቤተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ወቤተ ፡ መንግሥቴ ፡ ወኵሎ ፡ ዘሐለየ ፡ ወዘአደሞ ፡ ለሰሎሞን ፡ በነፍሱ ፡ ከመ ፡ ይግበር ፡ ቤተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ወቤቶ ፡ ወሠርኀ ፡ ሎቱ ።
Thus Solomon finished Yahweh’s house and the king’s house; and he successfully completed all that came into Solomon’s heart to make in Yahweh’s house and in his own house.
7:12 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיֵּרָ֧א יְהֹוָ֛ה אֶל ־שְׁלֹמֹ֖ה בַּלָּ֑יְלָה וַיֹּ֣אמֶר ל֗וֹ שָׁמַ֙עְתִּי֙ אֶת ־תְּפִלָּתֶ֔ךָ וּבָחַ֜רְתִּי בַּמָּק֥וֹם הַזֶּ֛ה לִ֖י לְבֵ֥ית זָֽבַח ׃
καὶ ὤφθη ὁ θεὸς τῷ Σαλωμων τὴν νύκτα καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ ἤκουσα τῆς προσευχῆς σου καὶ ἐξελεξάμην ἐν τῷ τόπῳ τούτῳ ἐμαυτῷ εἰς οἶκον θυσίας
Apparuit autem ei Dominus nocte , et ait : Audivi orationem tuam , et elegi locum istum mihi in domum sacrificii .
ወበህየ ፡ ተራከቦ ፡ ወአስተርአዮ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ለሰሎሞን ፡ በይእቲ ፡ ሌሊት ፡ ወይቤሎ ፡ ሰማዕኩ ፡ ጸሎተከ ፡ ወኃረይኩ ፡ ሊተ ፡ ዘንተ ፡ መካነ ፡ ከመ ፡ ይኩነኒ ፡ ቤተ ፡ ምሥዋዕ ።
Then Yahweh appeared to Solomon by night, and said to him, “I have heard your prayer, and have chosen this place for myself for a house of sacrifice.
7:13 ⧉ ⤴︎ הֵ֣ן אֶעֱצֹ֤ר הַשָּׁמַ֙יִם֙ וְלֹא ־יִהְיֶ֣ה מָטָ֔ר וְהֵן ־אֲצַוֶּ֥ה עַל ־חָגָ֖ב לֶאֱכ֣וֹל הָאָ֑רֶץ וְאִם ־אֲשַׁלַּ֥ח דֶּ֖בֶר בְּעַמִּֽי ׃
ἐὰν συσχῶ τὸν οὐρανὸν καὶ μὴ γένηται ὑετός καὶ ἐὰν ἐντείλωμαι τῇ ἀκρίδι καταφαγεῖν τὸ ξύλον καὶ ἐὰν ἀποστείλω θάνατον ἐν τῷ λαῷ μου
Si clausero caelum , et pluvia non fluxerit , et mandavero et praecepero locustae ut devoret terram , et misero pestilentiam in populum meum :
ወእመሰ ፡ ዓፀውክዎ ፡ ለሰማይ ፡ ወከላእከዎ ፡ ኢያውርድ ፡ ዝናመ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ምድር ፡ እመኒ ፡ አዘዝክዎ ፡ ለአንበጣ ፡ ከመ ፡ ይብላዕ ፡ ኵሎ ፡ ዕፀወ ፡ ዘይፈሪ ፡ ወለእመኒ ፡ ፈነውኩ ፡ ሞተ ፡ ላዕለ ፡ ሕዝብየ ።
“If I shut up the sky so that there is no rain, or if I command the locust to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people,
7:14 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְיִכָּנְע֨וּ עַמִּ֜י אֲשֶׁ֧ר נִֽקְרָא ־שְׁמִ֣י עֲלֵיהֶ֗ם וְיִֽתְפַּֽלְלוּ֙ וִיבַקְשׁ֣וּ פָנַ֔י וְיָשֻׁ֖בוּ מִדַּרְכֵיהֶ֣ם הָרָעִ֑ים וַֽאֲנִי֙ אֶשְׁמַ֣ע מִן ־הַשָּׁמַ֔יִם וְאֶסְלַח֙ לְחַטָּאתָ֔ם וְאֶרְפָּ֖א אֶת ־אַרְצָֽם ׃
καὶ ἐὰν ἐντραπῇ ὁ λαός μου ἐφ’ οὓς τὸ ὄνομά μου ἐπικέκληται ἐπ’ αὐτούς καὶ προσεύξωνται καὶ ζητήσωσιν τὸ πρόσωπόν μου καὶ ἀποστρέψωσιν ἀπὸ τῶν ὁδῶν αὐτῶν τῶν πονηρῶν καὶ ἐγὼ εἰσακούσομαι ἐκ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ καὶ ἵλεως ἔσομαι ταῖς ἁμαρτίαις αὐτῶν καὶ ἰάσομαι τὴν γῆν αὐτῶν
conversus autem populus meus , super quos invocatum est nomen meum , deprecatus me fuerit , et exquisierit faciem meam , et egerit poenitentiam a viis suis pessimis : et ego exaudiam de caelo , et propitius ero peccatis eorum , et sanabo terram eorum .
ወተመይጡ ፡ ወተዘከሩ ፡ ሕዝብየ ፡ ዘተሰምየ ፡ ስምየ ፡ በላዕሌሆሙ ፡ ወጸለዩ ፡ ኀቤየ ፡ ወኀሠሡ ፡ ገጽየ ፡ ወተመይጡ ፡ እምፍኖተ ፡ እከዮሙ ፡ ወአነኒ ፡ እሰምዖሙ ፡ እምሰማይ ፡ ማኅደርየ ፡ ወመሐሬ ፡ እከውን ፡ ወሠራዬ ፡ ለአበሳሆሙ ፡ ወእፌውሶሙ ፡ ወአሐዩ ፡ ምድሮሙ ።
if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves, pray, seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
7:15 ⧉ ⤴︎ עַתָּ֗ה עֵינַי֙ יִהְי֣וּ פְתֻח֔וֹת וְאׇזְנַ֖י קַשֻּׁב֑וֹת לִתְפִלַּ֖ת הַמָּק֥וֹם הַזֶּֽה ׃
νῦν οἱ ὀφθαλμοί μου ἔσονται ἀνεῳγμένοι καὶ τὰ ὦτά μου ἐπήκοα τῇ προσευχῇ τοῦ τόπου τούτου
Oculi quoque mei erunt aperti , et aures meae erectae ad orationem ejus , qui in loco isto oraverit .
ወይእዜኒ ፡ አዕይንትየ ፡ ይከውና ፡ ክሡታተ ፡ ወንቁሐተ ፡ ወዕዘንየኒ ፡ ያጸምኣ ፡ ጸሎተ ፡ እንተ ፡ ትትፌኖ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ዝንቱ ፡ መካን ።
Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to prayer that is made in this place.
7:16 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְעַתָּ֗ה בָּחַ֤רְתִּי וְהִקְדַּ֙שְׁתִּי֙ אֶת ־הַבַּ֣יִת הַזֶּ֔ה לִֽהְיוֹת ־שְׁמִ֥י שָׁ֖ם עַד ־עוֹלָ֑ם וְהָי֨וּ עֵינַ֧י וְלִבִּ֛י שָׁ֖ם כׇּל ־הַיָּמִֽים ׃
καὶ νῦν ἐξελεξάμην καὶ ἡγίακα τὸν οἶκον τοῦτον τοῦ εἶναι ὄνομά μου ἐκεῖ ἕως αἰῶνος καὶ ἔσονται οἱ ὀφθαλμοί μου καὶ ἡ καρδία μου ἐκεῖ πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας
Elegi enim , et sanctificavi locum istum , ut sit nomen meum ibi in sempiternum , et permaneant oculi mei et cor meum ibi cunctis diebus .
ወይእዜኒ ፡ ኃረይክዎ ፡ ወቀደስክዎ ፡ ለዝንቱ ፡ ቤት ፡ ከመ ፡ ይሰመይ ፡ ስምየ ፡ በህየ ፡ እስከ ፡ ለዓለም ፡ ወበህየኒ ፡ ይከውና ፡ አዕይንትየ ፡ ወልብየ ፡ በኵሉ ፡ መዋዕል ።
For now I have chosen and made this house holy, that my name may be there forever; and my eyes and my heart will be there perpetually.
7:17 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְאַתָּ֞ה אִם ־תֵּלֵ֣ךְ לְפָנַ֗י כַּאֲשֶׁ֤ר הָלַךְ֙ דָּוִ֣יד אָבִ֔יךָ וְלַעֲשׂ֕וֹת כְּכֹ֖ל אֲשֶׁ֣ר צִוִּיתִ֑יךָ וְחֻקַּ֥י וּמִשְׁפָּטַ֖י תִּשְׁמֽוֹר ׃
καὶ σὺ ἐὰν πορευθῇς ἐναντίον μου ὡς Δαυιδ ὁ πατήρ σου καὶ ποιήσῃς κατὰ πάντα ἃ ἐνετειλάμην σοι καὶ τὰ προστάγματά μου καὶ τὰ κρίματά μου φυλάξῃ
Tu quoque si ambulaveris coram me , sicut ambulaverit David pater tuus , et feceris juxta omnia quae praecepi tibi , et justitias meas judiciaque servaveris :
ወአንተኒ ፡ ለእመ ፡ ሖርከ ፡ በቅድሜየ ፡ በከመ ፡ ሖረ ፡ ዳዊት ፡ አቡከ ፡ ወገበርከ ፡ ኵሎ ፡ ዘአዘዝኩከ ፡ ሕግየ ፡ ወኵነኔየኒ ፡ ለእመ ፡ ዓቀብከ ።
“As for you, if you will walk before me as David your father walked, and do according to all that I have commanded you, and will keep my statutes and my ordinances,
7:18 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַהֲקִ֣ימוֹתִ֔י אֵ֖ת כִּסֵּ֣א מַלְכוּתֶ֑ךָ כַּאֲשֶׁ֣ר כָּרַ֗תִּי לְדָוִ֤יד אָבִ֙יךָ֙ לֵאמֹ֔ר לֹֽא ־יִכָּרֵ֤ת לְךָ֙ אִ֔ישׁ מוֹשֵׁ֖ל בְּיִשְׂרָאֵֽל ׃
καὶ ἀναστήσω τὸν θρόνον τῆς βασιλείας σου ὡς διεθέμην Δαυιδ τῷ πατρί σου λέγων οὐκ ἐξαρθήσεταί σοι ἀνὴρ ἡγούμενος ἐν Ισραηλ
suscitabo thronum regni tui , sicut pollicitus sum David patri tuo , dicens : Non auferetur de stirpe tua vir qui sit princeps in Israël .
አቀውም ፡ ወአጸንዕ ፡ መንበረ ፡ መንግሥትከ ፡ በከመ ፡ ተካየድክዎ ፡ ለዳዊት ፡ አቡከ ፡ እንዘ ፡ እብል ፡ ኢየኃልቅ ፡ እምኔከ ፡ ብእሲ ፡ ዘይከውን ፡ ሰፋኔ ፡ ላዕለ ፡ ሕዝብየ ፡ እስራኤል ።
then I will establish the throne of your kingdom, according as I covenanted with David your father, saying, ‘There shall not fail you a man to be ruler in Israel.’
7:19 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְאִם ־תְּשׁוּב֣וּן אַתֶּ֔ם וַֽעֲזַבְתֶּם֙ חֻקּוֹתַ֣י וּמִצְוֺתַ֔י אֲשֶׁ֥ר נָתַ֖תִּי לִפְנֵיכֶ֑ם וַהֲלַכְתֶּ֗ם וַֽעֲבַדְתֶּם֙ אֱלֹהִ֣ים אֲחֵרִ֔ים וְהִשְׁתַּחֲוִיתֶ֖ם לָהֶֽם ׃
καὶ ἐὰν ἀποστρέψητε ὑμεῖς καὶ ἐγκαταλίπητε τὰ προστάγματά μου καὶ τὰς ἐντολάς μου ἃς ἔδωκα ἐναντίον ὑμῶν καὶ πορευθῆτε καὶ λατρεύσητε θεοῖς ἑτέροις καὶ προσκυνήσητε αὐτοῖς
Si autem aversi fueritis , et dereliqueritis justitias meas , et praecepta mea quae proposui vobis , et abeuntes servieritis diis alienis , et adoraveritis eos ,
ወለእመ ፡ ተመየጥከሙ ፡ አንትሙ ፡ ወኃደግሙ ፡ ወረሳዕክሙ ፡ ትእዛዝየ ፡ ወሕግየ ፡ ዘመጠውኩክሙ ፡ ወሖርክሙ ፡ ወአምለክሙ ፡ ወተለውክሙ ፡ አማልክተ ፡ ነኪር ፡ ወሰገድክሙ ፡ ሎሙ ።
But if you turn away and forsake my statutes and my commandments which I have set before you, and go and serve other gods and worship them,
7:20 ⧉ ⤴︎ וּנְתַשְׁתִּ֗ים מֵעַ֤ל אַדְמָתִי֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר נָתַ֣תִּי לָהֶ֔ם וְאֶת ־הַבַּ֤יִת הַזֶּה֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר הִקְדַּ֣שְׁתִּי לִשְׁמִ֔י אַשְׁלִ֖יךְ מֵעַ֣ל פָּנָ֑י וְאֶתְּנֶ֛נּוּ לְמָשָׁ֥ל וְלִשְׁנִינָ֖ה בְּכׇל ־הָעַמִּֽים ׃
καὶ ἐξαρῶ ὑμᾶς ἀπὸ τῆς γῆς ἧς ἔδωκα αὐτοῖς καὶ τὸν οἶκον τοῦτον ὃν ἡγίασα τῷ ὀνόματί μου ἀποστρέψω ἐκ προσώπου μου καὶ δώσω αὐτὸν εἰς παραβολὴν καὶ εἰς διήγημα ἐν πᾶσιν τοῖς ἔθνεσιν
evellam vos de terra mea quam dedi vobis : et domum hanc , quam sanctificavi nomini meo , projiciam a facie mea , et tradam eam in parabolam , et in exemplum cunctis populis .
አነኒ ፡ አፈልሰክሙ ፡ እምድር ፡ እንተ ፡ አውረስክዎሙ ፡ ለአበዊክሙ ፡ ወለዝንቱ ፡ ቤት ፡ ዘቀደስክዎ ፡ ለስምየ ፡ እገድፎ ፡ እምቅድመ ፡ ገጽየ ፡ ወእሬስዮ ፡ ነገረ ፡ ወአምሳለ ፡ ለኵሉ ፡ አሕዛብ ፡ ወዜና ፡ ለኵሉ ፡ በሐውርት ።
then I will pluck them up by the roots out of my land which I have given them; and this house, which I have made holy for my name, I will cast out of my sight, and I will make it a proverb and a byword among all peoples.
7:21 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְהַבַּ֤יִת הַזֶּה֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר הָיָ֣ה עֶלְי֔וֹן לְכׇל ־עֹבֵ֥ר עָלָ֖יו יִשֹּׁ֑ם וְאָמַ֗ר בַּמֶּ֨ה עָשָׂ֤ה יְהֹוָה֙ כָּ֔כָה לָאָ֥רֶץ הַזֹּ֖את וְלַבַּ֥יִת הַזֶּֽה ׃
καὶ ὁ οἶκος οὗτος ὁ ὑψηλός πᾶς ὁ διαπορευόμενος αὐτὸν ἐκστήσεται καὶ ἐρεῖ χάριν τίνος ἐποίησεν κύριος τῇ γῇ ταύτῃ καὶ τῷ οἴκῳ τούτῳ
Et domus ista erit in proverbium universis transeuntibus , et dicent stupentes : Quare fecit Dominus sic terrae huic , et domui huic ?
ወለዝንቱኒ ፡ ቤት ፡ ክቡር ፡ ኃላፌ ፡ ፍኖት ፡ ዘይሬእዮ ፡ ይደነግፅ ፡ ወይብል ፡ በእንተ ፡ ምንት ፡ ገብረ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ላዕለ ፡ ዝንቱ ፡ ቤት ፡ ወላዕለ ፡ ዛቲ ፡ ከመዝ ።
This house, which is so high, everyone who passes by it will be astonished and say, ‘Why has Yahweh done this to this land and to this house?’
7:22 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְאָמְר֗וּ עַל֩ אֲשֶׁ֨ר עָזְב֜וּ אֶת ־יְהֹוָ֣ה ׀ אֱלֹהֵ֣י אֲבֹתֵיהֶ֗ם אֲשֶׁ֣ר הוֹצִיאָם֮ מֵאֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרַ֒יִם֒ וַֽיַּחֲזִ֙יקוּ֙ בֵּאלֹהִ֣ים אֲחֵרִ֔ים וַיִּשְׁתַּחֲו֥וּ לָהֶ֖ם וַיַּעַבְד֑וּם עַל ־כֵּן֙ הֵבִ֣יא עֲלֵיהֶ֔ם אֵ֥ת כׇּל ־הָרָעָ֖ה הַזֹּֽאת ׃ {פ}
καὶ ἐροῦσιν διότι ἐγκατέλιπον κύριον τὸν θεὸν τῶν πατέρων αὐτῶν τὸν ἐξαγαγόντα αὐτοὺς ἐκ γῆς Αἰγύπτου καὶ ἀντελάβοντο θεῶν ἑτέρων καὶ προσεκύνησαν αὐτοῖς καὶ ἐδούλευσαν αὐτοῖς διὰ τοῦτο ἐπήγαγεν ἐπ’ αὐτοὺς πᾶσαν τὴν κακίαν ταύτην
Respondebuntque : Quia dereliquerunt Dominum Deum patrum suorum , qui eduxit eos de terra Aegypti , et apprehenderunt deos alienos , et adoraverunt eos , et coluerunt : idcirco venerunt super eos universa haec mala .
ወያወሥኡ ፡ ወይብሉ ፡ እስመ ፡ ረስዕዎ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላከ ፡ አበዊሆሙ ፡ ዘአውጽኦሙ ፡ እምድረ ፡ ግብፅ ፡ ወተለዉ ፡ ወአምለኩ ፡ አማልክተ ፡ ነኪር ፡ ወሰገዱ ፡ ወተቀንዩ ፡ ሎሙ ፡ ወበእንተዝ ፡ አምጽአ ፡ ላዕሌሆሙ ፡ ዘንተ ፡ ኵሎ ፡ እኩየ ።
They shall answer, ‘Because they abandoned Yahweh, the God of their fathers, who brought them out of the land of Egypt, and took other gods, worshiped them, and served them. Therefore he has brought all this evil on them.’”
