Πιστὸς ὁ λόγος · εἴ τις ἐπισκοπῆς ὀρέγεται , καλοῦ ἔργου ἐπιθυμεῖ .
「人若想要得監督的職分，就是羨慕善工。」這話是可信的。
This is a faithful saying: someone who seeks to be an overseer desires a good work.
3:2▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
δεῖ οὖν τὸν ἐπίσκοπον ἀνεπίλημπτον εἶναι , μιᾶς γυναικὸς ἄνδρα , νηφάλιον , σώφρονα , κόσμιον , φιλόξενον , διδακτικόν ,
作監督的，必須無可指責，只作一個婦人的丈夫，有節制，自守，端正，樂意接待遠人，善於教導；
The overseer therefore must be without reproach, the husband of one wife, temperate, sensible, modest, hospitable, good at teaching;
3:3▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
μὴ πάροινον , μὴ πλήκτην , ἀλλὰ ἐπιεικῆ , ἄμαχον , ἀφιλάργυρον ,
不因酒滋事，不打人，只要溫和，不爭競，不貪財；
not a drinker, not violent, not greedy for money, but gentle, not quarrelsome, not covetous;
3:4▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
τοῦ ἰδίου οἴκου καλῶς προϊστάμενον , τέκνα ἔχοντα ἐν ὑποταγῇ μετὰ πάσης σεμνότητος ·
好好管理自己的家，使兒女凡事端莊順服 。
one who rules his own house well, having children in subjection with all reverence;
3:5▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
εἰ δέ τις τοῦ ἰδίου οἴκου προστῆναι οὐκ οἶδεν , πῶς ἐκκλησίας θεοῦ ἐπιμελήσεται ;
人若不知道管理自己的家，焉能照管上帝的教會呢？
(for how could someone who doesn’t know how to rule his own house take care of God’s assembly?)
3:6▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
μὴ νεόφυτον , ἵνα μὴ τυφωθεὶς εἰς κρίμα ἐμπέσῃ τοῦ διαβόλου .
初入教的不可作監督，恐怕他自高自大，就落在魔鬼所受的刑罰裏。
not a new convert, lest being puffed up he fall into the same condemnation as the devil.
3:7▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
δεῖ δὲ καὶ μαρτυρίαν καλὴν ἔχειν ἀπὸ τῶν ἔξωθεν , ἵνα μὴ εἰς ὀνειδισμὸν ἐμπέσῃ καὶ παγίδα τοῦ διαβόλου .
監督也必須在教外有好名聲，恐怕被人毀謗，落在魔鬼的網羅裏。
Moreover he must have good testimony from those who are outside, to avoid falling into reproach and the snare of the devil.
3:8▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
διακόνους ὡσαύτως σεμνούς , μὴ διλόγους , μὴ οἴνῳ πολλῷ προσέχοντας , μὴ αἰσχροκερδεῖς ,
作執事的，也是如此：必須端莊，不一口兩舌，不好喝酒，不貪不義之財；
Servants, in the same way, must be reverent, not double-tongued, not addicted to much wine, not greedy for money,
3:9▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ἔχοντας τὸ μυστήριον τῆς πίστεως ἐν καθαρᾷ συνειδήσει .
要存清潔的良心，固守真道的奧祕。
holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience.
3:10▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
καὶ οὗτοι δὲ δοκιμαζέσθωσαν πρῶτον , εἶτα διακονείτωσαν ἀνέγκλητοι ὄντες .
這等人也要先受試驗，若沒有可責之處，然後叫他們作執事。
Let them also first be tested; then let them serve if they are blameless.
3:11▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
γυναῖκας ὡσαύτως σεμνάς , μὴ διαβόλους , νηφαλίους , πιστὰς ἐν πᾶσιν .
女執事 也是如此：必須端莊，不說讒言，有節制，凡事忠心。
Their wives in the same way must be reverent, not slanderers, temperate, and faithful in all things.
3:12▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
διάκονοι ἔστωσαν μιᾶς γυναικὸς ἄνδρες , τέκνων καλῶς προϊστάμενοι καὶ τῶν ἰδίων οἴκων ·
執事只要作一個婦人的丈夫，好好管理兒女和自己的家。
Let servants be husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well.
3:13▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
οἱ γὰρ καλῶς διακονήσαντες βαθμὸν ἑαυτοῖς καλὸν περιποιοῦνται καὶ πολλὴν παρρησίαν ἐν πίστει τῇ ἐν Χριστῷ Ἰησοῦ .
因為善作執事的，自己就得到美好的地步，並且在基督耶穌裏的真道上大有膽量。
For those who have served well gain for themselves a good standing and great boldness in the faith which is in Christ Jesus.
3:14▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
Ταῦτά σοι γράφω , ἐλπίζων ἐλθεῖν πρὸς σὲ τάχιον ·
我指望快到你那裏去，所以先將這些事寫給你。
These things I write to you, hoping to come to you shortly,
3:15▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ἐὰν δὲ βραδύνω , ἵνα εἰδῇς πῶς δεῖ ἐν οἴκῳ θεοῦ ἀναστρέφεσθαι , ἥτις ἐστὶν ἐκκλησία θεοῦ ζῶντος , στῦλος καὶ ἑδραίωμα τῆς ἀληθείας .
倘若我耽延日久，你也可以知道在上帝的家中當怎樣行。這家就是永生上帝的教會，真理的柱石和根基。
but if I wait long, that you may know how men ought to behave themselves in God’s house, which is the assembly of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.
3:16▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
καὶ ὁμολογουμένως μέγα ἐστὶν τὸ τῆς εὐσεβείας μυστήριον · ὃς ἐφανερώθη ἐν σαρκί , ἐδικαιώθη ἐν πνεύματι , ὤφθη ἀγγέλοις , ἐκηρύχθη ἐν ἔθνεσιν , ἐπιστεύθη ἐν κόσμῳ , ἀνελήμφθη ἐν δόξῃ .
大哉，敬虔的奧祕，無人不以為然！ 就是上帝在肉身顯現， 被聖靈稱義 ， 被天使看見， 被傳於外邦， 被世人信服， 被接在榮耀裏。
Without controversy, the mystery of godliness is great: God was revealed in the flesh, justified in the spirit, seen by angels, preached among the nations, believed on in the world, and received up in glory.
