1:1

ቃለ፡ እግኢአብሔር፡ ዘኮነ፡ ኀበ፡ አሞጽ፡ በአቃሬም፡ ዘቴቆሔ። ዘርእየ፡ በእንተ፡ ኢየሩሳም፡ በመዋዕለ፡ ዖዝያን፡ ንጉሠ፡ ይሁዳ፡ ወበመዋለ፡ ኢዩርብዓም፡ ወልደ፡ ዩአስ፡ ንጉሠ፡ እስራዴል፡ እምቅድመ፡ ክልኤ፡ ዓመት፡ ዘድልቅልቅ።

當猶大王烏西雅，以色列王約阿施的兒子耶羅波安在位的時候，大地震前二年，提哥亞牧人中的阿摩司得默示論以色列。

The words of Amos, who was among the herdsmen of Tekoa, which he saw concerning Israel in the days of Uzziah king of Judah and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash, king of Israel, two years before the earthquake.

1:2

ወይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ እምጽዩን፡ ነበበ፡ እምኢየሩሳሌም፡ ወሀበለቃሎ፡ ላሐው፡ መራዕየ፡ ኖሎት፡ ወየብስ፡ ርእሱ፡ ለቀርሜሎስ።

他說：耶和華必從錫安吼叫，從耶路撒冷發聲；牧人的草場要悲哀；迦密的山頂要枯乾。

He said: “Yahweh will roar from Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the pastures of the shepherds will mourn, and the top of Carmel will wither.”

1:3

ወይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ በእንተ፡ ሰላስ፡ ኃጢአቶሙ፡ ለደማስቆ፡ ላዋባእነተ፡ አርበዕ፡ ኢይመይጦሙ፡ እስመ፡ ወሠርዎን፡ በሞሠርተ፡ ኃፂን፡ ለፅኒሳ፡ ገለአድ።

耶和華如此說：大馬士革三番四次地犯罪，我必不免去她的刑罰；因為她以打糧食的鐵器打過基列。

Yahweh says: “For three transgressions of Damascus, yes, for four, I will not turn away its punishment, because they have threshed Gilead with threshing instruments of iron;

1:4

ወእፌኑ፡ እሳተ፡ ላዕለ፡ ቤተ፡ አዛሔል፡ ወትበልዕ፡ መሠረታቲሑ፡ ለወልደ፡ አዴር።

我卻要降火在哈薛的家中，燒滅便‧哈達的宮殿。

but I will send a fire into the house of Hazael, and it will devour the palaces of Ben Hadad.

1:5

ወእቀጠቅጥ፡ መናስግቲሐ፡ ለደማስቆ፡ ወእሤርዎሙ፡ ለእለ፡ ይነብሩ፡ ውስተ፡ አሕቃላ፡ አዎን፡ በኀበ፡ እመትሮሙ፡ ለአሕዛብ፡ ሰብአ፡ ካን፡ ወፄውዉ፡ ኄረ፡ ሕዝቦሙ፡ ለሶርያ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር።

我必折斷大馬士革的門閂，剪除亞文平原的居民和伯‧伊甸掌權的。亞蘭人必被擄到吉珥。這是耶和華說的。

I will break the bar of Damascus, and cut off the inhabitant from the valley of Aven, and him who holds the scepter from the house of Eden; and the people of Syria shall go into captivity to Kir,” says Yahweh.

1:6

ከመዝ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ በእንተ፡ ሠላስ፡ ኃጢአቶሙ፡ ለጋዛለ፡ ወበእነተ፡ አርባዕ፡ ኢይመይጦሙ፡ እስመ፡ ፄወዉ፡ ፄዋሁ፡ ለሰሎሞን፡ ከመ፡ ይዕጽውዎሙ፡ ውስተ፡ ኤዶምያ።

耶和華如此說：迦薩三番四次地犯罪，我必不免去她的刑罰；因為她擄掠眾民交給以東。

Yahweh says: “For three transgressions of Gaza, yes, for four, I will not turn away its punishment, because they carried away captive the whole community, to deliver them up to Edom;

1:7

ወእፌኒ፡ እሳ፡ ውሰተ፡ አረፋ፡ ጋዛ፡ ወትበልዕ፡ መሠረታቲሓ።

我卻要降火在迦薩的城內，燒滅其中的宮殿。

but I will send a fire on the wall of Gaza, and it will devour its palaces.

1:8

ወእሤርዎሙ፡ ለእለ፡ ነብሩ፡ አዛጦን፡ ወይጠፍኡ፡ አህዛበ፡ አስቃን፡ ወአመጸእ፡ እዴየ፡ ላዕለ፡ አቃሮን፡ ወይጠፍኡ፡ ምስለ፡ ለለሕዛበ፡ ኢሎፍሊ፡ እለ፡ ተርፋ፡ ቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር።

我必剪除亞實突的居民和亞實基倫掌權的，也必反手攻擊以革倫。非利士人所餘剩的必都滅亡。這是主耶和華說的。

I will cut off the inhabitant from Ashdod, and him who holds the scepter from Ashkelon; and I will turn my hand against Ekron; and the remnant of the Philistines will perish,” says the Lord Yahweh.

1:9

ከመዝ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ በእንተ፡ ሠላስ፡ ኃጢአቶሙ፡ ለጢሮስ፡ ወበእነተ፡ አርባዕ፡ ኢይትመየጦሙ፡ እሰተመ፡ ዐጸዉ፡ ፄዋሁለለሰሎሞን፡ ውስተ፡ ኤዶምያስ፡ ወኢተዘከሩ፡ ኪዳነ፡ አኃዊሆሙ።

耶和華如此說：泰爾三番四次地犯罪，我必不免去她的刑罰；因為她將眾民交給以東，並不記念弟兄的盟約。

Yahweh says: “For three transgressions of Tyre, yes, for four, I will not turn away its punishment; because they delivered up the whole community to Edom, and didn’t remember the brotherly covenant;
