ℹ️ This corpus has no verse-level morphological tagging. Lemmas come mainly from word-level tagging of other books in the same language (not from this verse), falling back to dictionary form-matching for the rest. Rare homographs can still be misread; verify against the original and a specialist lexicon where precision matters.
ℹ️ The Chinese and English alongside are this site's own translation, made directly from the original text on this page (not the CUV or the WEB, which follow the Masoretic Text and a different textual tradition).

And the men of Ephraim cried out and crossed over to the north, and they said to Iephthae: Why did you cross over to do battle against the sons of Ammon and have not called us to go with you? We will burn your house upon you with fire.
And Iephthae said to them: I was a man of war, I and my people, and the sons of Ammon exceedingly so; and I called out to you, and you did not save me out of their hand.
And I saw that you were no savior, and I put my life in my own hand and crossed over to the sons of Ammon, and the Lord gave them into my hand. So for what reason have you come up against me on this day to do battle with me?
And Iephthae gathered together all the men of Galaad and drew up in battle against Ephraim; and the men of Galaad struck Ephraim, because those of Ephraim who had escaped said: You of Galaad are in the midst of Ephraim and in the midst of Manasse.
And Galaad seized beforehand the fords of the Jordan belonging to Ephraim; and those of Ephraim who had escaped said to them: Let us cross over. And the men of Galaad said to them: Are you an Ephrathite? And he said: No.
And they said to him: Say now, ear of grain. And he could not manage to say it so; and they seized him and slaughtered him at the fords of the Jordan. And at that time there fell from Ephraim forty-two thousand.
And he had thirty sons and thirty daughters whom he sent away outside, and he brought in thirty daughters from outside for his sons. And he judged Israel seven years.
