ℹ️ This corpus has no verse-level morphological tagging. Lemmas come mainly from word-level tagging of other books in the same language (not from this verse), falling back to dictionary form-matching for the rest. Rare homographs can still be misread; verify against the original and a specialist lexicon where precision matters.

2:1
In the seventh month, on the twenty-first day of the month, the Lord spoke by the hand of Haggai the prophet, saying:
Speak now to Zorobabel son of Salathiel, of the tribe of Judah, and to Iesous son of Iosedek, the great priest, and to all the remnant of the people, saying:
Who among you saw this house in its former glory? And how do you see it now? Is it not as though it were nothing before you?
And now be strong, Zorobabel, says the Lord; and be strong, Iesous son of Iosedek, the great priest; and let all the people of the land be strong, says the Lord; and work, for I am with you, says the Lord Almighty.
And my spirit stands in your midst; take courage.
For thus says the Lord Almighty: Once more I will shake the heaven and the earth and the sea and the dry land.
And I will shake all the nations, and the choice things of all the nations will come, and I will fill this house with glory, says the Lord Almighty.
The silver is mine and the gold is mine, says the Lord Almighty.
For the latter glory of this house will be greater than the former, says the Lord Almighty; and in this place I will give peace, says the Lord Almighty, and peace of soul as a possession to everyone who builds, to raise up this temple.
On the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, in the second year of Darius, a word of the Lord came to Haggai the prophet, saying:
Thus says the Lord Almighty: Ask the priests about the law, saying:
If a person carries holy meat in the fold of his garment, and the fold of his garment touches bread or stew or wine or oil or any food, will it become holy? And the priests answered and said, No.
And Haggai said: If one defiled by a dead body touches any of these, will it become unclean? And the priests answered and said, It will become unclean.
And Haggai answered and said: So is this people and so is this nation before me, says the Lord, and so are all the works of their hands; and whoever draws near there will be defiled. Because of their early-morning gains, they will suffer pain on account of their own toil; and you used to hate those who reprove in the gate.
And now, set your hearts to consider, from this day and further back, before a stone was laid upon a stone in the temple of the Lord.
What were you then? When you put twenty seahs of barley into a bin, there turned out to be only ten seahs of barley; and when you came to the wine vat to draw off fifty measures, there turned out to be only twenty.
I struck you with crop failure and with blighting wind and with hail—all the works of your hands—yet you did not turn back to me, says the Lord.
Set your hearts, then, from this day and onward, from the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, and from the day the temple of the Lord was founded—take it to heart.
Will anything still be recognized on the threshing floor? And are the vine and the fig tree and the pomegranate and the olive trees still bearing no fruit? From this day I will bless.
And a word of the Lord came a second time to Haggai the prophet, on the twenty-fourth day of the month, saying:
Speak to Zorobabel son of Salathiel, of the tribe of Judah, saying: I am shaking the heaven and the earth and the sea and the dry land.
And I will overturn the thrones of kings and destroy the power of the kings of the nations; and I will overturn chariots and riders, and the horses and their riders will go down, each one by the sword against his brother.
On that day, says the Lord Almighty, I will take you, Zorobabel son of Salathiel, my servant, says the Lord, and I will make you like a signet ring, because I have chosen you, says the Lord Almighty.
