2:1 ⧉ ⤴︎ וּֽלְנׇעֳמִ֞י (מידע ) [מוֹדָ֣ע ] לְאִישָׁ֗הּ אִ֚ישׁ גִּבּ֣וֹר חַ֔יִל מִמִּשְׁפַּ֖חַת אֱלִימֶ֑לֶךְ וּשְׁמ֖וֹ בֹּֽעַז ׃
καὶ τῇ Νωεμιν ἀνὴρ γνώριμος τῷ ἀνδρὶ αὐτῆς ὁ δὲ ἀνὴρ δυνατὸς ἰσχύι ἐκ τῆς συγγενείας Αβιμελεχ καὶ ὄνομα αὐτῷ Βοος
Erat autem viro Elimelech consanguineus , homo potens , et magnarum opum , nomine Booz .
ወባቲ ፡ ኖሔሚን ፡ ብእሴ ፡ ዘያአምሮ ፡ ለምታ ፡ ወውእቱ ፡ ብእሲ ፡ ጽኑዕ ፡ ወከሃሊ ፡ እምነ ፡ አዝማዲሁ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ ለአሊሜሌክ ፡ ወስሙ ፡ ቦዖስ ።
Naomi had a relative of her husband’s, a mighty man of wealth, of the family of Elimelech, and his name was Boaz.
2:2 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַתֹּ֩אמֶר֩ ר֨וּת הַמּוֹאֲבִיָּ֜ה אֶֽל ־נׇעֳמִ֗י אֵלְכָה ־נָּ֤א הַשָּׂדֶה֙ וַאֲלַקֳּטָ֣ה בַֽשִּׁבֳּלִ֔ים אַחַ֕ר אֲשֶׁ֥ר אֶמְצָא ־חֵ֖ן בְּעֵינָ֑יו וַתֹּ֥אמֶר לָ֖הּ לְכִ֥י בִתִּֽי ׃
καὶ εἶπεν Ρουθ ἡ Μωαβῖτις πρὸς Νωεμιν πορευθῶ δὴ εἰς ἀγρὸν καὶ συνάξω ἐν τοῖς στάχυσιν κατόπισθεν οὗ ἐὰν εὕρω χάριν ἐν ὀφθαλμοῖς αὐτοῦ εἶπεν δὲ αὐτῇ πορεύου θύγατερ
Dixitque Ruth Moabitis ad socrum suam : Si jubes , vadam in agrum , et colligam spicas quae fugerint manus metentium , ubicumque clementis in me patrisfamilias reperero gratiam . Cui illa respondit : Vade , filia mea .
ወትቤላ ፡ ሩት ፡ ሞአባዊት ፡ ለኖሔሚን ፡ እሑርኑ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ገራህት ፡ እእሪ ፡ እክለ ፡ ኀበ ፡ እለ ፡ ረከብኩ ፡ ሞገሰ ፡ ወትቤላ ፡ ሑሪ ፡ ወለትየ ።
Ruth the Moabitess said to Naomi, “Let me now go to the field, and glean among the ears of grain after him in whose sight I find favor.” She said to her, “Go, my daughter.”
2:3 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַתֵּ֤לֶךְ וַתָּבוֹא֙ וַתְּלַקֵּ֣ט בַּשָּׂדֶ֔ה אַחֲרֵ֖י הַקֹּצְרִ֑ים וַיִּ֣קֶר מִקְרֶ֔הָ חֶלְקַ֤ת הַשָּׂדֶה֙ לְבֹ֔עַז אֲשֶׁ֖ר מִמִּשְׁפַּ֥חַת אֱלִימֶֽלֶךְ ׃
καὶ ἐπορεύθη καὶ συνέλεξεν ἐν τῷ ἀγρῷ κατόπισθεν τῶν θεριζόντων καὶ περιέπεσεν περιπτώματι τῇ μερίδι τοῦ ἀγροῦ Βοος τοῦ ἐκ συγγενείας Αβιμελεχ
Abiit itaque et colligebat spicas post terga metentium . Accidit autem ut ager ille haberet dominum nomine Booz , qui erat de cognatione Elimelech .
ወሖረት ፡ ወአረየት ፡ እምውስተ ፡ ገራህት ፡ እንዘ ፡ ትተልዎሙ ፡ ለእለ ፡ የዐፅዱ ፡ ወበጽሐት ፡ ውስተ ፡ አሐዱ ፡ ሕብር ፡ እምነ ፡ ገራህቱ ፡ ለቦዖስ ፡ ዘእምነ ፡ ዘመዱ ፡ ለአሊሜሌክ ።
She went, and came and gleaned in the field after the reapers; and she happened to come to the portion of the field belonging to Boaz, who was of the family of Elimelech.
2:4 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְהִנֵּה ־בֹ֗עַז בָּ֚א מִבֵּ֣ית לֶ֔חֶם וַיֹּ֥אמֶר לַקּוֹצְרִ֖ים יְהֹוָ֣ה עִמָּכֶ֑ם וַיֹּ֥אמְרוּ ל֖וֹ יְבָרֶכְךָ֥ יְהֹוָֽה ׃
καὶ ἰδοὺ Βοος ἦλθεν ἐκ Βαιθλεεμ καὶ εἶπεν τοῖς θερίζουσιν κύριος μεθ’ ὑμῶν καὶ εἶπον αὐτῷ εὐλογήσαι σε κύριος
Et ecce , ipse veniebat de Bethlehem , dixitque messoribus : Dominus vobiscum . Qui responderunt ei : Benedicat tibi Dominus .
ወመጽአ ፡ ቦዖስ ፡ እምነ ፡ ቤተ ፡ ልሔም ፡ ወይቤሎሙ ፡ ለእለ ፡ የዐፅዱ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ምስሌክሙ ፡ ወይቤልዎ ፡ ይባርከ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ።
Behold, Boaz came from Bethlehem, and said to the reapers, “May Yahweh be with you.” They answered him, “May Yahweh bless you.”
2:5 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיֹּ֤אמֶר בֹּ֙עַז֙ לְנַֽעֲר֔וֹ הַנִּצָּ֖ב עַל ־הַקּוֹצְרִ֑ים לְמִ֖י הַנַּעֲרָ֥ה הַזֹּֽאת ׃
καὶ εἶπεν Βοος τῷ παιδαρίῳ αὐτοῦ τῷ ἐφεστῶτι ἐπὶ τοὺς θερίζοντας τίνος ἡ νεᾶνις αὕτη
Dixitque Booz juveni , qui messoribus praeerat : Cujus est haec puella ?
ወይቤሎ ፡ ቦዖስ ፡ ለወልዱ ፡ ዘይቀውም ፡ ላዕለ ፡ እለ ፡ የዐፅዱ ፡ እንተ ፡ መኑ ፡ ዛቲ ፡ ወለት ።
Then Boaz said to his servant who was set over the reapers, “Whose young lady is this?”
2:6 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיַּ֗עַן הַנַּ֛עַר הַנִּצָּ֥ב עַל ־הַקּוֹצְרִ֖ים וַיֹּאמַ֑ר נַעֲרָ֤ה מֽוֹאֲבִיָּה֙ הִ֔יא הַשָּׁ֥בָה עִֽם ־נׇעֳמִ֖י מִשְּׂדֵ֥י מוֹאָֽב ׃
καὶ ἀπεκρίθη τὸ παιδάριον τὸ ἐφεστὸς ἐπὶ τοὺς θερίζοντας καὶ εἶπεν ἡ παῖς ἡ Μωαβῖτίς ἐστιν ἡ ἀποστραφεῖσα μετὰ Νωεμιν ἐξ ἀγροῦ Μωαβ
Cui respondit : Haec est Moabitis , quae venit cum Noëmi , de regione Moabitide ,
ወአውሥኦ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ ወልድ ፡ ዘይቀውም ፡ ላዕለ ፡ እለ ፡ የዐፅዱ ፡ ወይቤ ፡ እንታክቲ ፡ ወለት ፡ ሞአባዊት ፡ እንተ ፡ ገብአት ፡ ምስለ ፡ ኖሔሚን ፡ እምነ ፡ ሐቅለ ፡ ሞአብ ።
The servant who was set over the reapers answered, “It is the Moabite lady who came back with Naomi out of the country of Moab.
2:7 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַתֹּ֗אמֶר אֲלַקֳּטָה ־נָּא֙ וְאָסַפְתִּ֣י בָעֳמָרִ֔ים אַחֲרֵ֖י הַקּוֹצְרִ֑ים וַתָּב֣וֹא וַֽתַּעֲמ֗וֹד מֵאָ֤ז הַבֹּ֙קֶר֙ וְעַד ־עַ֔תָּה זֶ֛ה שִׁבְתָּ֥הּ הַבַּ֖יִת מְעָֽט ׃
καὶ εἶπεν συλλέξω δὴ καὶ συνάξω ἐν τοῖς δράγμασιν ὄπισθεν τῶν θεριζόντων καὶ ἦλθεν καὶ ἔστη ἀπὸ πρωίθεν καὶ ἕως ἑσπέρας οὐ κατέπαυσεν ἐν τῷ ἀγρῷ μικρόν
et rogavit ut spicas colligeret remanentes , sequens messorum vestigia : et de mane usque nunc stat in agro , et ne ad momentum quidem domum reversa est .
ወትቤ ፡ እእሪ ፡ ወኣስተጋብእ ፡ እምነ ፡ ዘወድቀ ፡ እምነ ፡ ክልስስታት ፡ ወእምድኅሬሆሙ ፡ ለእለ ፡ የዐፅዱ ፡ ወመጽአት ፡ ወቆመት ፡ እምነግህ ፡ እስከ ፡ ስርክ ፡ ወኢኀደገት ፡ ንስቲተኒ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ገራህት ።
She said, ‘Please let me glean and gather after the reapers among the sheaves.’ So she came, and has continued even from the morning until now, except that she rested a little in the house.”
2:8 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיֹּ֩אמֶר֩ בֹּ֨עַז אֶל ־ר֜וּת הֲל֧וֹא שָׁמַ֣עַתְּ בִּתִּ֗י אַל ־תֵּֽלְכִי֙ לִלְקֹט֙ בְּשָׂדֶ֣ה אַחֵ֔ר וְגַ֛ם לֹ֥א תַעֲבוּרִ֖י מִזֶּ֑ה וְכֹ֥ה תִדְבָּקִ֖ין עִם ־נַעֲרֹתָֽי ׃
καὶ εἶπεν Βοος πρὸς Ρουθ οὐκ ἤκουσας θύγατερ μὴ πορευθῇς ἐν ἀγρῷ συλλέξαι ἑτέρῳ καὶ σὺ οὐ πορεύσῃ ἐντεῦθεν ὧδε κολλήθητι μετὰ τῶν κορασίων μου
Et ait Booz ad Ruth : Audi , filia , ne vadas in alterum agrum ad colligendum , nec recedas ab hoc loco : sed jungere puellis meis ,
ወይቤላ ፡ ቦዖስ ፡ ለሩት ፡ ኢሰማዕኪኑ ፡ ወለትየ ፡ ኢትባኢ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ገራህተ ፡ ባዕድ ፡ ለአስተጋብኦ ፡ ወአንቲኒ ፡ ኢትሑሪ ፡ እምዝየ ፡ ባዕደ ፡ ትልዊዮን ፡ ለአዋልድየ ።
Then Boaz said to Ruth, “Listen, my daughter. Don’t go to glean in another field, and don’t go from here, but stay here close to my maidens.
2:9 ⧉ ⤴︎ עֵינַ֜יִךְ בַּשָּׂדֶ֤ה אֲשֶׁר ־יִקְצֹרוּן֙ וְהָלַ֣כְתְּ אַחֲרֵיהֶ֔ן הֲל֥וֹא צִוִּ֛יתִי אֶת ־הַנְּעָרִ֖ים לְבִלְתִּ֣י נׇגְעֵ֑ךְ וְצָמִ֗ת וְהָלַכְתְּ֙ אֶל ־הַכֵּלִ֔ים וְשָׁתִ֕ית מֵאֲשֶׁ֥ר יִשְׁאֲב֖וּן הַנְּעָרִֽים ׃
οἱ ὀφθαλμοί σου εἰς τὸν ἀγρόν οὗ ἐὰν θερίζωσιν καὶ πορεύσῃ κατόπισθεν αὐτῶν ἰδοὺ ἐνετειλάμην τοῖς παιδαρίοις τοῦ μὴ ἅψασθαί σου καὶ ὅ τι διψήσεις καὶ πορευθήσῃ εἰς τὰ σκεύη καὶ πίεσαι ὅθεν ἂν ὑδρεύωνται τὰ παιδάρια
et ubi messuerint , sequere . Mandavi enim pueris meis , ut nemo molestus sit tibi : sed etiam si sitieris , vade ad sarcinulas , et bibe aquas , de quibus et pueri bibunt .
ወነጽሪ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ገራህት ፡ ኀበ ፡ ዐፀዱ ፡ ወትልዊዮሙ ፡ ናሁ ፡ አዘዝኩ ፡ ለደቅ ፡ ከመ ፡ አልቦ ፡ ዘይልክፍኪ ፡ ወእመኒ ፡ ጸማእኪ ፡ ሑሪ ፡ ኀበ ፡ ንዋይ ፡ ወስተዪ ፡ እምነ ፡ ዘአምጽኡ ፡ ደቅ ።
Let your eyes be on the field that they reap, and go after them. Haven’t I commanded the young men not to touch you? When you are thirsty, go to the vessels, and drink from that which the young men have drawn.”
2:10 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַתִּפֹּל֙ עַל ־פָּנֶ֔יהָ וַתִּשְׁתַּ֖חוּ אָ֑רְצָה וַתֹּ֣אמֶר אֵלָ֗יו מַדּ֩וּעַ֩ מָצָ֨אתִי חֵ֤ן בְּעֵינֶ֙יךָ֙ לְהַכִּירֵ֔נִי וְאָנֹכִ֖י נׇכְרִיָּֽה ׃
καὶ ἔπεσεν ἐπὶ πρόσωπον αὐτῆς καὶ προσεκύνησεν ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτόν τί ὅτι εὗρον χάριν ἐν ὀφθαλμοῖς σου τοῦ ἐπιγνῶναί με καὶ ἐγώ εἰμι ξένη
Quae cadens in faciem suam et adorans super terram , dixit ad eum : Unde mihi hoc , ut invenirem gratiam ante oculos tuos , et nosse me dignareris peregrinam mulierem ?
ወወድቀት ፡ በገጻ ፡ ወሰገደት ፡ ውስተ ፡ ምድር ፡ ወትቤሎ ፡ እመ ፡ ረከብኩ ፡ ሞገሰ ፡ ቅድመ ፡ አዕይንቲከ ፡ ዑቀኒ ፡ እስመ ፡ እንግዳ ፡ አነ ።
Then she fell on her face and bowed herself to the ground, and said to him, “Why have I found favor in your sight, that you should take knowledge of me, since I am a foreigner?”
2:11 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיַּ֤עַן בֹּ֙עַז֙ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר לָ֔הּ הֻגֵּ֨ד הֻגַּ֜ד לִ֗י כֹּ֤ל אֲשֶׁר ־עָשִׂית֙ אֶת ־חֲמוֹתֵ֔ךְ אַחֲרֵ֖י מ֣וֹת אִישֵׁ֑ךְ וַתַּעַזְבִ֞י אָבִ֣יךְ וְאִמֵּ֗ךְ וְאֶ֙רֶץ֙ מֽוֹלַדְתֵּ֔ךְ וַתֵּ֣לְכִ֔י אֶל ־עַ֕ם אֲשֶׁ֥ר לֹא ־יָדַ֖עַתְּ תְּמ֥וֹל שִׁלְשֽׁוֹם ׃
καὶ ἀπεκρίθη Βοος καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῇ ἀπαγγελίᾳ ἀπηγγέλη μοι ὅσα πεποίηκας μετὰ τῆς πενθερᾶς σου μετὰ τὸ ἀποθανεῖν τὸν ἄνδρα σου καὶ πῶς κατέλιπες τὸν πατέρα σου καὶ τὴν μητέρα σου καὶ τὴν γῆν γενέσεώς σου καὶ ἐπορεύθης πρὸς λαὸν ὃν οὐκ ᾔδεις ἐχθὲς καὶ τρίτης
Cui ille respondit : Nuntiata sunt mihi omnia quae feceris socrui tuae post mortem viri tui : et quod reliqueris parentes tuos , et terram in qua nata es , et veneris ad populum , quem antea nesciebas .
ወአውሥኣ ፡ ቦዖስ ፡ ወይቤላ ፡ ዜና ፡ ዜነውኒ ፡ ኵሎ ፡ ዘገበርኪ ፡ ምስለ ፡ ሐማትኪ ፡ እምድኅረ ፡ ሞተ ፡ ምትኪ ፡ ወእፎ ፡ ኀደጊ ፡ [አባኪ ፡ ወ ]እመኪ ፡ ወብሔረ ፡ ሙላድኪ ፡ ወመጻእኪ ፡ ኀበ ፡ ሕዝብ ፡ ዘኢታአምሪ ፡ ትካት ።
Boaz answered her, “I have been told all about what you have done for your mother-in-law since the death of your husband, and how you have left your father, your mother, and the land of your birth, and have come to a people that you didn’t know before.
2:12 ⧉ ⤴︎ יְשַׁלֵּ֥ם יְהֹוָ֖ה פׇּעֳלֵ֑ךְ וּתְהִ֨י מַשְׂכֻּרְתֵּ֜ךְ שְׁלֵמָ֗ה מֵעִ֤ם יְהֹוָה֙ אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל אֲשֶׁר ־בָּ֖את לַחֲס֥וֹת תַּחַת ־כְּנָפָֽיו ׃
ἀποτείσαι κύριος τὴν ἐργασίαν σου καὶ γένοιτο ὁ μισθός σου πλήρης παρὰ κυρίου θεοῦ Ισραηλ πρὸς ὃν ἦλθες πεποιθέναι ὑπὸ τὰς πτέρυγας αὐτοῦ
Reddat tibi Dominus pro opere tuo , et plenam mercedem recipias a Domino Deo Israël , ad quem venisti , et sub cujus confugisti alas .
ወይዕሲኪ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ በከመ ፡ ገበርኪ ፡ ወይኩን ፡ ዕሴትኪ ፡ ፍጹመ ፡ በኀበ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላከ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ ዘመጻእኪ ፡ ኀቤሁ ፡ ከመ ፡ ትትአመኒ ፡ በክነፊሁ ።
May Yahweh repay your work, and a full reward be given to you from Yahweh, the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come to take refuge.”
2:13 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַ֠תֹּ֠אמֶר אֶמְצָא ־חֵ֨ן בְּעֵינֶ֤יךָ אֲדֹנִי֙ כִּ֣י נִֽחַמְתָּ֔נִי וְכִ֥י דִבַּ֖רְתָּ עַל ־לֵ֣ב שִׁפְחָתֶ֑ךָ וְאָֽנֹכִי֙ לֹ֣א אֶהְיֶ֔ה כְּאַחַ֖ת שִׁפְחֹתֶֽיךָ ׃
ἡ δὲ εἶπεν εὕροιμι χάριν ἐν ὀφθαλμοῖς σου κύριε ὅτι παρεκάλεσάς με καὶ ὅτι ἐλάλησας ἐπὶ καρδίαν τῆς δούλης σου καὶ ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἔσομαι ὡς μία τῶν παιδισκῶν σου
Quae ait : Inveni gratiam apud oculos tuos , domine mi , qui consolatus es me , et locutus es ad cor ancillae tuae , quae non sum similis unius puellarum tuarum .
ወትቤሎ ፡ ሩት ፡ ረከብኩ ፡ ሞገሰ ፡ ቅድመ ፡ አዕይንቲከ ፡ እስመ ፡ አስተፈሣሕከኒ ፡ ወናዘዝካሁ ፡ ለልበ ፡ አመትከ ፡ ወናሁ ፡ አነ ፡ እከውነከ ፡ ከመ ፡ አሐቲ ፡ እምነ ፡ አእማቲከ ።
Then she said, “Let me find favor in your sight, my lord, because you have comforted me, and because you have spoken kindly to your servant, though I am not as one of your servants.”
2:14 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיֹּ֩אמֶר֩ לָ֨הֿ בֹ֜עַז לְעֵ֣ת הָאֹ֗כֶל גֹּ֤שִֽׁי הֲלֹם֙ וְאָכַ֣לְתְּ מִן ־הַלֶּ֔חֶם וְטָבַ֥לְתְּ פִּתֵּ֖ךְ בַּחֹ֑מֶץ וַתֵּ֙שֶׁב֙ מִצַּ֣ד הַקֹּצְרִ֔ים וַיִּצְבׇּט ־לָ֣הּ קָלִ֔י וַתֹּ֥אכַל וַתִּשְׂבַּ֖ע וַתֹּתַֽר ׃
καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῇ Βοος ἤδη ὥρᾳ τοῦ φαγεῖν πρόσελθε ὧδε καὶ φάγεσαι τῶν ἄρτων καὶ βάψεις τὸν ψωμόν σου ἐν τῷ ὄξει καὶ ἐκάθισεν Ρουθ ἐκ πλαγίων τῶν θεριζόντων καὶ ἐβούνισεν αὐτῇ Βοος ἄλφιτον καὶ ἔφαγεν καὶ ἐνεπλήσθη καὶ κατέλιπεν
Dixitque ad eam Booz : Quando hora vescendi fuerit , veni huc , et comede panem , et intinge buccellam tuam in aceto . Sedit itaque ad messorum latus , et congessit polentam sibi , comeditque et saturata est , et tulit reliquias .
ወይቤላ ፡ ቦዖስ ፡ ሶበ ፡ ኮነ ፡ ጊዜ ፡ ምሳሕ ፡ ንዒ ፡ ዝየ ፡ ወብልዒ ፡ እክለኪ ፡ ወትጻብኂ ፡ ኅብስተኪ ፡ በብሒእ ፡ ወነበረት ፡ ሩት ፡ መንገለ ፡ ገቦሆሙ ፡ ለእለ ፡ የዐፅዱ ፡ ወአስተጋብአ ፡ ላቲ ፡ ቦዖስ ፡ ጥሕነ ፡ ወበልዐት ፡ ወጸግበት ፡ ወአትረፈት ።
At meal time Boaz said to her, “Come here, and eat some bread, and dip your morsel in the vinegar.” She sat beside the reapers, and they passed her parched grain. She ate, was satisfied, and left some of it.
2:15 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַתָּ֖קׇם לְלַקֵּ֑ט וַיְצַו֩ בֹּ֨עַז אֶת ־נְעָרָ֜יו לֵאמֹ֗ר גַּ֣ם בֵּ֧ין הָעֳמָרִ֛ים תְּלַקֵּ֖ט וְלֹ֥א תַכְלִימֽוּהָ ׃
καὶ ἀνέστη τοῦ συλλέγειν καὶ ἐνετείλατο Βοος τοῖς παιδαρίοις αὐτοῦ λέγων καί γε ἀνὰ μέσον τῶν δραγμάτων συλλεγέτω καὶ μὴ καταισχύνητε αὐτήν
Atque inde surrexit , ut spicas ex more colligeret . Praecepit autem Booz pueris suis , dicens : Etiamsi vobiscum metere voluerit , ne prohibeatis eam :
ወተንሥአት ፡ ትትቀረም ፡ ወአዘዞሙ ፡ ቦዖስ ፡ ለደቁ ፡ ወይቤሎሙ ፡ ለትእሪ ፡ ማእከለ ፡ ክልስስታት ፡ ወኢታስተኀፍርዋ ።
When she had risen up to glean, Boaz commanded his young men, saying, “Let her glean even among the sheaves, and don’t reproach her.
2:16 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְגַ֛ם שֹׁל ־תָּשֹׁ֥לּוּ לָ֖הּ מִן ־הַצְּבָתִ֑ים וַעֲזַבְתֶּ֥ם וְלִקְּטָ֖ה וְלֹ֥א תִגְעֲרוּ ־בָֽהּ ׃
καὶ βαστάζοντες βαστάξατε αὐτῇ καί γε παραβάλλοντες παραβαλεῖτε αὐτῇ ἐκ τῶν βεβουνισμένων καὶ ἄφετε καὶ συλλέξει καὶ οὐκ ἐπιτιμήσετε αὐτῇ
et de vestris quoque manipulis projicite de industria , et remanere permittite , ut absque rubore colligat , et colligentem nemo corripiat .
ወጹሩ ፡ ላቲ ፡ እምነ ፡ ዘአስተጋብአት ፡ [ወኅድጉ ፡] ላቲ ፡ ወትብላዕ ፡ ወትእሪሂ ፡ ወኢትገሥጽዋ ።
Also pull out some for her from the bundles, and leave it. Let her glean, and don’t rebuke her.”
2:17 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַתְּלַקֵּ֥ט בַּשָּׂדֶ֖ה עַד ־הָעָ֑רֶב וַתַּחְבֹּט֙ אֵ֣ת אֲשֶׁר ־לִקֵּ֔טָה וַיְהִ֖י כְּאֵיפָ֥ה שְׂעֹרִֽים ׃
καὶ συνέλεξεν ἐν τῷ ἀγρῷ ἕως ἑσπέρας καὶ ἐρράβδισεν ἃ συνέλεξεν καὶ ἐγενήθη ὡς οιφι κριθῶν
Collegit ergo in agro usque ad vesperam : et quae collegerat virga caedens et excutiens , invenit hordei quasi ephi mensuram , id est , tres modios .
ወአረየት ፡ እምነ ፡ ገራህት ፡ እስከ ፡ መስየ ፡ ወዘበጠቶ ፡ ለዝክቱ ፡ ዘአስተጋብአት ፡ ወኮነ ፡ ስገሙ ፡ በመስፈርተ ፡ ኢፍ ።
So she gleaned in the field until evening; and she beat out that which she had gleaned, and it was about an ephah of barley.
2:18 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַתִּשָּׂא֙ וַתָּב֣וֹא הָעִ֔יר וַתֵּ֥רֶא חֲמוֹתָ֖הּ אֵ֣ת אֲשֶׁר ־לִקֵּ֑טָה וַתּוֹצֵא֙ וַתִּתֶּן ־לָ֔הּ אֵ֥ת אֲשֶׁר ־הוֹתִ֖רָה מִשׇּׂבְעָֽהּ ׃
καὶ ἦρεν καὶ εἰσῆλθεν εἰς τὴν πόλιν καὶ εἶδεν ἡ πενθερὰ αὐτῆς ἃ συνέλεξεν καὶ ἐξενέγκασα Ρουθ ἔδωκεν αὐτῇ ἃ κατέλιπεν ἐξ ὧν ἐνεπλήσθη
Quos portans reversa est in civitatem , et ostendit socrui suae : insuper protulit , et dedit ei de reliquiis cibi sui , quo saturata fuerat .
ወነሥአት ፡ ወአእተወት ፡ ሀገረ ፡ ወርእየት ፡ ሐማታ ፡ ዘአረየት ፡ ወአምጽአት ፡ ሩት ፡ ወወሀበታ ፡ ዘአትረፈት ፡ እምድኅረ ፡ ጸግበት ።
She took it up, and went into the city. Then her mother-in-law saw what she had gleaned; and she brought out and gave to her that which she had left after she had enough.
2:19 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַתֹּ֩אמֶר֩ לָ֨הּ חֲמוֹתָ֜הּ אֵיפֹ֨ה לִקַּ֤טְתְּ הַיּוֹם֙ וְאָ֣נָה עָשִׂ֔ית יְהִ֥י מַכִּירֵ֖ךְ בָּר֑וּךְ וַתַּגֵּ֣ד לַחֲמוֹתָ֗הּ אֵ֤ת אֲשֶׁר ־עָֽשְׂתָה֙ עִמּ֔וֹ וַתֹּ֗אמֶר שֵׁ֤ם הָאִישׁ֙ אֲשֶׁ֨ר עָשִׂ֧יתִי עִמּ֛וֹ הַיּ֖וֹם בֹּֽעַז ׃
καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῇ ἡ πενθερὰ αὐτῆς ποῦ συνέλεξας σήμερον καὶ ποῦ ἐποίησας εἴη ὁ ἐπιγνούς σε εὐλογημένος καὶ ἀπήγγειλεν Ρουθ τῇ πενθερᾷ αὐτῆς ποῦ ἐποίησεν καὶ εἶπεν τὸ ὄνομα τοῦ ἀνδρός μεθ’ οὗ ἐποίησα σήμερον Βοος
Dixitque ei socrus sua : Ubi hodie collegisti , et ubi fecisti opus ? sit benedictus qui misertus est tui . Indicavitque ei apud quem fuisset operata : et nomen dixit viri , quod Booz vocaretur .
ወትቤላ ፡ ሐማታ ፡ በአይቴ ፡ አረይኪ ፡ ዮም ፡ ወበአይቴ ፡ ገበርኪ ፤ቡሩከ ፡ ለይኩን ፡ ዘአእመረኪ ፡ ወአይድዐታ ፡ ሩት ፡ ለሐማታ ፡ በአይቴ ፡ ገብረት ፡ ወነገረታ ፡ ስሙ ፡ ለውእቱ ፡ ብእሲ ፡ ዘኀቤሁ ፡ ወዓልኩ ፡ ዮም ፡ ቦዖስ ።
Her mother-in-law said to her, “Where have you gleaned today? Where have you worked? Blessed be he who noticed you.” She told her mother-in-law with whom she had worked, “The man’s name with whom I worked today is Boaz.”
2:20 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַתֹּ֨אמֶר נׇעֳמִ֜י לְכַלָּתָ֗הּ בָּר֥וּךְ הוּא֙ לַיהֹוָ֔ה אֲשֶׁר֙ לֹא ־עָזַ֣ב חַסְדּ֔וֹ אֶת ־הַחַיִּ֖ים וְאֶת ־הַמֵּתִ֑ים וַתֹּ֧אמֶר לָ֣הּ נׇעֳמִ֗י קָר֥וֹב לָ֙נוּ֙ הָאִ֔ישׁ מִֽגֹּאֲלֵ֖נוּ הֽוּא ׃
καὶ εἶπεν Νωεμιν τῇ νύμφῃ αὐτῆς εὐλογητός ἐστιν τῷ κυρίῳ ὅτι οὐκ ἐγκατέλιπεν τὸ ἔλεος αὐτοῦ μετὰ τῶν ζώντων καὶ μετὰ τῶν τεθνηκότων καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῇ Νωεμιν ἐγγίζει ἡμῖν ὁ ἀνὴρ ἐκ τῶν ἀγχιστευόντων ἡμᾶς ἐστιν
Cui respondit Noëmi : Benedictus sit a Domino : quoniam eamdem gratiam , quam praebuerat vivis , servavit et mortuis . Rursumque ait : Propinquus noster est homo .
ወትቤላ ፡ ኖሔሚን ፡ ለመርዓታ ፡ ቡሩክ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ እስመ ፡ ኢኀደገ ፡ ምሕረቶ ፡ ምስለ ፡ ሕያዋን ፡ ወምስለ ፡ ምውታን ፡ ወትቤላ ፡ ኖሔሚን ፡ ብእሲሁሰ ፡ ቅሩብነ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ እምእለ ፡ ይትሐመውነ ፡ ውእቱ ።
Naomi said to her daughter-in-law, “May he be blessed by Yahweh, who has not abandoned his kindness to the living and to the dead.” Naomi said to her, “The man is a close relative to us, one of our near kinsmen.”
2:21 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַתֹּ֖אמֶר ר֣וּת הַמּוֹאֲבִיָּ֑ה גַּ֣ם ׀ כִּי ־אָמַ֣ר אֵלַ֗י עִם ־הַנְּעָרִ֤ים אֲשֶׁר ־לִי֙ תִּדְבָּקִ֔ין עַ֣ד אִם ־כִּלּ֔וּ אֵ֥ת כׇּל ־הַקָּצִ֖יר אֲשֶׁר ־לִֽי ׃
καὶ εἶπεν Ρουθ πρὸς τὴν πενθερὰν αὐτῆς καί γε ὅτι εἶπεν πρός με μετὰ τῶν παιδαρίων μου προσκολλήθητι ἕως ἂν τελέσωσιν ὅλον τὸν ἀμητόν ὃς ὑπάρχει μοι
Et ait Ruth : Hoc quoque , inquit , praecepit mihi , ut tamdiu messoribus ejus jungerer , donec omnes segetes meterentur .
ወትቤላ ፡ ሩት ፡ ለሐማታ ፡ እስመ ፡ ይቤለኒ ፡ ምስለ ፡ አዋልድየ ፡ ትልዊ ፡ እስከ ፡ አመ ፡ የኀልቅ ፡ ማእረርነ ።
Ruth the Moabitess said, “Yes, he said to me, ‘You shall stay close to my young men until they have finished all my harvest.’”
2:22 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַתֹּ֥אמֶר נׇעֳמִ֖י אֶל ־ר֣וּת כַּלָּתָ֑הּ ט֣וֹב בִּתִּ֗י כִּ֤י תֵצְאִי֙ עִם ־נַ֣עֲרוֹתָ֔יו וְלֹ֥א יִפְגְּעוּ ־בָ֖ךְ בְּשָׂדֶ֥ה אַחֵֽר ׃
καὶ εἶπεν Νωεμιν πρὸς Ρουθ τὴν νύμφην αὐτῆς ἀγαθόν θύγατερ ὅτι ἐπορεύθης μετὰ τῶν κορασίων αὐτοῦ καὶ οὐκ ἀπαντήσονταί σοι ἐν ἀγρῷ ἑτέρῳ
Cui dixit socrus : Melius est , filia mea , ut cum puellis ejus exeas ad metendum , ne in alieno agro quispiam resistat tibi .
ወትቤላ ፡ ኖሔሚን ፡ ለሩት ፡ መርዓታ ፡ ሠናይ ፡ ወለትየ ፡ እስመ ፡ ተለውኪ ፡ ምስለ ፡ አዋልዲሁ ፡ ወኢይርከቡኪ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ገራህተ ፡ ባዕድ ።
Naomi said to Ruth her daughter-in-law, “It is good, my daughter, that you go out with his maidens, and that they not harm you in any other field.”
2:23 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַתִּדְבַּ֞ק בְּנַעֲר֥וֹת בֹּ֙עַז֙ לְלַקֵּ֔ט עַד ־כְּל֥וֹת קְצִֽיר ־הַשְּׂעֹרִ֖ים וּקְצִ֣יר הַחִטִּ֑ים וַתֵּ֖שֶׁב אֶת ־חֲמוֹתָֽהּ ׃
καὶ προσεκολλήθη Ρουθ τοῖς κορασίοις Βοος συλλέγειν ἕως οὗ συνετέλεσεν τὸν θερισμὸν τῶν κριθῶν καὶ τῶν πυρῶν καὶ ἐκάθισεν μετὰ τῆς πενθερᾶς αὐτῆς
Juncta est itaque puellis Booz : et tamdiu cum eis messuit , donec hordea et triticum in horreis conderentur .
ወተለወቶን ፡ ሩት ፡ ለአዋልደ ፡ ቦዖስ ፡ ከመ ፡ ትእሪ ፡ እስከ ፡ አመ ፡ የኀልቅ ፡ ማእረረ ፡ ስገም ፡ ወስርናይ ፡ ወነበረት ፡ ምስለ ፡ ሐማታ ።
So she stayed close to the maidens of Boaz, to glean to the end of barley harvest and of wheat harvest; and she lived with her mother-in-law.
