2:1
ה֧וֹי חֹֽשְׁבֵי־אָ֛וֶן וּפֹ֥עֲלֵי רָ֖ע עַל־מִשְׁכְּבוֹתָ֑ם בְּא֤וֹר הַבֹּ֙קֶר֙ יַעֲשׂ֔וּהָ כִּ֥י יֶשׁ־לְאֵ֖ל יָדָֽם׃
ἐγένοντο λογιζόμενοι κόπους καὶ ἐργαζόμενοι κακὰ ἐν ταῖς κοίταις αὐτῶν καὶ ἅμα τῇ ἡμέρᾳ συνετέλουν αὐτά διότι οὐκ ἦραν πρὸς τὸν θεὸν τὰς χεῖρας αὐτῶν
Vae qui cogitatis inutile, et operamini malum in cubilibus vestris ! In luce matutina faciunt illud, quoniam contra Deum est manus eorum.
ወመከሩ፡ እኩያ፡ ወገብሩ፡ ኃጢአተ፡ በወስተ፡ ምስካቦሙ፡ ወነቂሆሙ፡ በጽባሕ፡ ይፌጽምዋ። ወኢያነስኡ፡ እደዊሆሙ፡ ኀበ፡ እግዚአብሔር።
Woe to those who devise iniquity and work evil on their beds! When the morning is light, they practice it, because it is in the power of their hand.
2:2
וְחָמְד֤וּ שָׂדוֹת֙ וְגָזָ֔לוּ וּבָתִּ֖ים וְנָשָׂ֑אוּ וְעָֽשְׁקוּ֙ גֶּ֣בֶר וּבֵית֔וֹ וְאִ֖ישׁ וְנַחֲלָתֽוֹ׃ {ס}
καὶ ἐπεθύμουν ἀγροὺς καὶ διήρπαζον ὀρφανοὺς καὶ οἴκους κατεδυνάστευον καὶ διήρπαζον ἄνδρα καὶ τὸν οἶκον αὐτοῦ ἄνδρα καὶ τὴν κληρονομίαν αὐτοῦ
Et concupierunt agros, et violenter tulerunt : et rapuerunt domos, et calumniabantur virum, et domum ejus : virum, et haereditatem ejus.
ወፈት፡ ገራውሀ፡ ወሄዱ፡ አብያ፡ ወተዐገሉ፡ አጓለ፡ ማውታ፡ ወበርበርዎ፡ ለብእሲ፡ ምስለ፡ ቤቱ፡ ወመሠጡ፡ ብኤሴ፡ ምስለርስቱ።
They covet fields and seize them, and houses, then take them away. They oppress a man and his house, even a man and his heritage.
2:3
לָכֵ֗ן כֹּ֚ה אָמַ֣ר יְהֹוָ֔ה הִנְנִ֥י חֹשֵׁ֛ב עַל־הַמִּשְׁפָּחָ֥ה הַזֹּ֖את רָעָ֑ה אֲ֠שֶׁ֠ר לֹֽא־תָמִ֨ישׁוּ מִשָּׁ֜ם צַוְּארֹֽתֵיכֶ֗ם וְלֹ֤א תֵֽלְכוּ֙ רוֹמָ֔ה כִּ֛י עֵ֥ת רָעָ֖ה הִֽיא׃
διὰ τοῦτο τάδε λέγει κύριος ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ λογίζομαι ἐπὶ τὴν φυλὴν ταύτην κακά ἐξ ὧν οὐ μὴ ἄρητε τοὺς τραχήλους ὑμῶν καὶ οὐ μὴ πορευθῆτε ὀρθοὶ ἐξαίφνης ὅτι καιρὸς πονηρός ἐστιν
Idcirco haec dicit Dominus : Ecce ego cogito super familiam istam malum, unde non auferetis colla vestra, et non ambulabitis superbi : quoniam tempus pessimum est.
በእንተ፡ ዝንቱ፡ ከመዝ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ናሁ፡ እነ፡ መከርኩ፡ ኩየ፡ ላዕለ፡ ዝንቱ፡ ህዝብ፡ በዘ፡ ኢያነስኡ፡ እከ፡ ካሳዶሙ፡ ወኢየሐውሩ፡ እንከ፡ ርቱዐ፡ ፍኖተ፡ እስመ፡ ታወግቦሙ፡ ዕለት፡ እኪት።
Therefore Yahweh says: “Behold, I am planning against these people a disaster, from which you will not remove your necks, neither will you walk haughtily, for it is an evil time.
2:4
בַּיּ֨וֹם הַה֜וּא יִשָּׂ֧א עֲלֵיכֶ֣ם מָשָׁ֗ל וְנָהָ֨ה נְהִ֤י נִֽהְיָה֙ אָמַר֙ שָׁד֣וֹד נְשַׁדֻּ֔נוּ חֵ֥לֶק עַמִּ֖י יָמִ֑יר אֵ֚יךְ יָמִ֣ישׁ לִ֔י לְשׁוֹבֵ֥ב שָׂדֵ֖ינוּ יְחַלֵּֽק׃
ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ἐκείνῃ λημφθήσεται ἐφ’ ὑμᾶς παραβολή καὶ θρηνηθήσεται θρῆνος ἐν μέλει λέγων ταλαιπωρίᾳ ἐταλαιπωρήσαμεν μερὶς λαοῦ μου κατεμετρήθη ἐν σχοινίῳ καὶ οὐκ ἦν ὁ κωλύσων αὐτὸν τοῦ ἀποστρέψαι οἱ ἀγροὶ ἡμῶν διεμερίσθησαν
In die illa sumetur super vos parabola, et cantabitur canticum cum suavitate, dicentium : Depopulatione vastati sumus ; pars populi mei commutata est : quomodo recedet a me, cum revertatur, qui regiones nostras dividat ?
ይእተ፡ አሚረ፡ ይሜስ፡ ላዕሌክሙ፡ ምሳሌ፡ ወታስቆቅው፡ ሠቆቃወ፡ ወትበሉ፡ ኀሠርነ፡ ወሐርተምነ፡ ወይሰፍርዋ፡ በሐብል፡ ለምድር፡ ሕዝብየ፡ ወአልቦ፡ ዜከልእ፡ ወየኀድግ፡ ወይከፈሉ፡ ገራውሂክሙ።
In that day they will take up a parable against you, and lament with a doleful lamentation, saying, ‘We are utterly ruined! My people’s possession is divided up. Indeed he takes it from me and assigns our fields to traitors!’”
2:5
לָכֵן֙ לֹֽא־יִֽהְיֶ֣ה לְךָ֔ מַשְׁלִ֥יךְ חֶ֖בֶל בְּגוֹרָ֑ל בִּקְהַ֖ל יְהֹוָֽה׃
διὰ τοῦτο οὐκ ἔσται σοι βάλλων σχοινίον ἐν κλήρῳ ἐν ἐκκλησίᾳ κυρίου
Propter hoc non erit tibi mittens funiculum sortis in coetu Domini.
በእንተ፡ ዝቱ፡ ኢትረክቢ፡ ዘያዐውድ፡ ለኪ፡ ሐብለ፡ ዲበ፡ መክፈልትኪ፡ ውስተ፡ ማኀበረ፡ እግዚአብሔር።
Therefore you will have no one who divides the land by lot in Yahweh’s assembly.
2:6
אַל־תַּטִּ֖פוּ יַטִּיפ֑וּן לֹֽא־יַטִּ֣פוּ לָאֵ֔לֶּה לֹ֥א יִסַּ֖ג כְּלִמּֽוֹת׃
μὴ κλαίετε δάκρυσιν μηδὲ δακρυέτωσαν ἐπὶ τούτοις οὐ γὰρ ἀπώσεται ὀνείδη
Ne loquamini loquentes ; non stillabit super istos, non comprehendet confusio.
ኢትብክዩ፡ ወኢታንብኡ፡ በእንተ፡ ዝነቱ። እስመ፡ ኢያትኀደግ፡ ኃሳርክሙ።
“Don’t prophesy!”—they prophesy— “Don’t prophesy about these things. Disgrace won’t overtake us.”
2:7
הֶאָמ֣וּר בֵּֽית־יַעֲקֹ֗ב הֲקָצַר֙ ר֣וּחַ יְהֹוָ֔ה אִם־אֵ֖לֶּה מַעֲלָלָ֑יו הֲל֤וֹא דְבָרַי֙ יֵיטִ֔יבוּ עִ֖ם הַיָּשָׁ֥ר הֹלֵֽךְ׃
ὁ λέγων οἶκος Ιακωβ παρώργισεν πνεῦμα κυρίου εἰ ταῦτα τὰ ἐπιτηδεύματα αὐτοῦ ἐστιν οὐχ οἱ λόγοι αὐτοῦ εἰσιν καλοὶ μετ’ αὐτοῦ καὶ ὀρθοὶ πεπόρευνται
Dicit domus Jacob : Numquid abbreviatus est spiritus Domini, aut tales sunt cogitationes ejus ? nonne verba mea bona sunt cum eo qui recte graditur ?
ዘይቤ፡ ቤተ፡ ያእቆብ፡ እምዕኡ፡ መንፈሰ፡ እግዝአቤሔር፡ በዝንቱ፡ ጌጋዩሙ፡ እንዘ፡ ነገሩ፡ ሠናየ፡ ዘኀቤሁ፡ ወራትአን፡ የሀውሩ፡ ቦቱ፡ ወያሜልዑ፡ ቅድም።
Shall it be said, O house of Jacob, “Is Yahweh’s Spirit angry? Are these his doings? Don’t my words do good to him who walks blamelessly?”
2:8
וְאֶתְמ֗וּל עַמִּי֙ לְאוֹיֵ֣ב יְקוֹמֵ֔ם מִמּ֣וּל שַׂלְמָ֔ה אֶ֖דֶר תַּפְשִׁט֑וּן מֵעֹבְרִ֣ים בֶּ֔טַח שׁוּבֵ֖י מִלְחָמָֽה׃
καὶ ἔμπροσθεν ὁ λαός μου εἰς ἔχθραν ἀντέστη κατέναντι τῆς εἰρήνης αὐτοῦ τὴν δορὰν αὐτοῦ ἐξέδειραν τοῦ ἀφελέσθαι ἐλπίδα συντριμμὸν πολέμου
et e contrario populus meus in adversarium consurrexit. Desuper tunica pallium sustulistis : et eos qui transibant simpliciter convertistis in bellum.
ወሕዝብየስ፡ ተቃወምዋ፡ ቅድሃ፡ ለሰላሞሙ፡ ወይፃረርዋ። ወሰለብዎ፡ ኩናቶ፡ ወይትቀጠቀጥዎ፡ በውስተ፡ ቀትል።
But lately my people have risen up as an enemy. You strip the robe and clothing from those who pass by without a care, returning from battle.
2:9
נְשֵׁ֤י עַמִּי֙ תְּגָ֣רְשׁ֔וּן מִבֵּ֖ית תַּֽעֲנֻגֶ֑יהָ מֵעַל֙ עֹֽלָלֶ֔יהָ תִּקְח֥וּ הֲדָרִ֖י לְעוֹלָֽם׃
διὰ τοῦτο ἡγούμενοι λαοῦ μου ἀπορριφήσονται ἐκ τῶν οἰκιῶν τρυφῆς αὐτῶν διὰ τὰ πονηρὰ ἐπιτηδεύματα αὐτῶν ἐξώσθησαν ἐγγίσατε ὄρεσιν αἰωνίοις
Mulieres populi mei ejecistis de domo deliciarum suarum ; a parvulis earum tulistis laudem meam in perpetuum.
ወበበይ፡ ዝንቱ፡ ይገድፍዎሙ፡ ለመላእክተ፡ ሕዝብየ፡ እምውስተ፡ ትርቲተ፡ አብያቶሙ፡ ወይሰደድዎሙ፡ እስመ፡ እኩ፡ ምግባሪሆሙ። ቅረቡ፡ አድባር፡ እለ፡ እምፍጥረተ፡ ዓለም።
You drive the women of my people out from their pleasant houses; from their young children you take away my blessing forever.
2:10
ק֣וּמוּ וּלְכ֔וּ כִּ֥י לֹא־זֹ֖את הַמְּנוּחָ֑ה בַּעֲב֥וּר טָמְאָ֛ה תְּחַבֵּ֖ל וְחֶ֥בֶל נִמְרָֽץ׃
ἀνάστηθι καὶ πορεύου ὅτι οὐκ ἔστιν σοι αὕτη ἡ ἀνάπαυσις ἕνεκεν ἀκαθαρσίας διεφθάρητε φθορᾷ
Surgite, et ite, quia non habetis hic requiem : propter immunditiam ejus corrumpetur putredine pessima.
ተንስኦ፡ ወሖር፡ እስመ፡ ኢኮነት፡ እንቲአከ፡ ዛቲ፡ ዕረፍት፡ በእን፡ ርኩስክ፡ ጠፋእክሙ፡ ወኀለቅሙ።
Arise, and depart! For this is not your resting place, because of uncleanness that destroys, even with a grievous destruction.
2:11
לוּ־אִ֞ישׁ הֹלֵ֥ךְ ר֙וּחַ֙ וָשֶׁ֣קֶר כִּזֵּ֔ב אַטִּ֣ף לְךָ֔ לַיַּ֖יִן וְלַשֵּׁכָ֑ר וְהָיָ֥ה מַטִּ֖יף הָעָ֥ם הַזֶּֽה׃
κατεδιώχθητε οὐδενὸς διώκοντος πνεῦμα ἔστησεν ψεῦδος ἐστάλαξέν σοι εἰς οἶνον καὶ μέθυσμα καὶ ἔσται ἐκ τῆς σταγόνος τοῦ λαοῦ τούτου
Utinam non essem vir habens spiritum, et mendacium potius loquerer ! Stillabo tibi in vinum et in ebrietatem ; et erit super quem stillatur populus iste.
ወጎየድክሙ፡ እንዘ፡ አልቦ፡ ዜዴግነክሙ፡ ጋኔን፡ አቀመ፡ ለከ፡ ሐሰት፡ ዋኣውጽሐ፡ ለከ፡ ወይነ፡ ወጼተሎ። ወይከውን፡ በነፍኒፎሙ፡ ለዝቱ፡ ሕዝብ።
If a man walking in a spirit of falsehood lies, saying, “I will prophesy to you of wine and of strong drink,” he would be the prophet of this people.
2:12
אָסֹ֨ף אֶאֱסֹ֜ף יַעֲקֹ֣ב כֻּלָּ֗ךְ קַבֵּ֤ץ אֲקַבֵּץ֙ שְׁאֵרִ֣ית יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל יַ֥חַד אֲשִׂימֶ֖נּוּ כְּצֹ֣אן בׇּצְרָ֑ה כְּעֵ֙דֶר֙ בְּת֣וֹךְ הַדׇּֽבְר֔וֹ תְּהִימֶ֖נָה מֵאָדָֽם׃
συναγόμενος συναχθήσεται Ιακωβ σὺν πᾶσιν ἐκδεχόμενος ἐκδέξομαι τοὺς καταλοίπους τοῦ Ισραηλ ἐπὶ τὸ αὐτὸ θήσομαι τὴν ἀποστροφὴν αὐτῶν ὡς πρόβατα ἐν θλίψει ὡς ποίμνιον ἐν μέσῳ κοίτης αὐτῶν ἐξαλοῦνται ἐξ ἀνθρώπων
Congregatione congregabo, Jacob, totum te ; in unum conducam reliquias Israël : pariter ponam illum quasi gregem in ovili, quasi pecus in medio caularum : tumultuabuntur a multitudine hominum.
ይትጋባእ፡ ያዕቆብ፡ ምስለ፡ ኰሎሙ፡ እለ፡ ይጸንሑ። እጸንሖ፡ ለተረፈ፡ እስራኤል፡ ወእሬስያ፡ ኀብረ፡ ለሚጠቶሙ። ከመ፡ አባግዕ፡ ውስተ፡ መጽብብ፡ ወከመ፡ መርዔት፡ ውስተ፡ ምብያቲሆሙ፡ ይትባልሑ፡ እምሰብእ።
I will surely assemble all of you, Jacob. I will surely gather the remnant of Israel. I will put them together as the sheep of Bozrah, as a flock in the middle of their pasture. They will swarm with people.
2:13
עָלָ֤ה הַפֹּרֵץ֙ לִפְנֵיהֶ֔ם פָּֽרְצוּ֙ וַֽיַּעֲבֹ֔רוּ שַׁ֖עַר וַיֵּ֣צְאוּ ב֑וֹ וַיַּעֲבֹ֤ר מַלְכָּם֙ לִפְנֵיהֶ֔ם וַיהֹוָ֖ה בְּרֹאשָֽׁם׃ {פ}
διὰ τῆς διακοπῆς πρὸ προσώπου αὐτῶν διέκοψαν καὶ διῆλθον πύλην καὶ ἐξῆλθον δῑ αὐτῆς καὶ ἐξῆλθεν ὁ βασιλεὺς αὐτῶν πρὸ προσώπου αὐτῶν ὁ δὲ κύριος ἡγήσεται αὐτῶν
Ascendet enim pandens iter ante eos : divident, et transibunt portam, et ingredientur per eam : et transibit rex eorum coram eis, et Dominus in capite eorum.
በእንተ፡ ቅትለቶሙ፡ ዘተቃተሉ፡ በቅድመ፡ ገጾሙ፡ ወኀለፋ፡ እምአናቅጽ፡ ወወፅኡ፡ ንተ፡ ውስቴታ፡ ወሖረ፡ ንጉሶሙ፡ ቅደመ፡ ገጾሙ፡ ወእግዚአብሔር፡ ይመርሖሙ።
He who breaks open the way goes up before them. They break through the gate, and go out. Their king passes on before them, with Yahweh at their head.
