1:1
דְּבַר־יְהֹוָ֣ה׀ אֲשֶׁ֣ר הָיָ֗ה אֶל־מִיכָה֙ הַמֹּ֣רַשְׁתִּ֔י בִּימֵ֥י יוֹתָ֛ם אָחָ֥ז יְחִזְקִיָּ֖ה מַלְכֵ֣י יְהוּדָ֑ה אֲשֶׁר־חָזָ֥ה עַל־שֹׁמְר֖וֹן וִירֽוּשָׁלָֽ͏ִם׃
καὶ ἐγένετο λόγος κυρίου πρὸς Μιχαιαν τὸν τοῦ Μωρασθι ἐν ἡμέραις Ιωαθαμ καὶ Αχαζ καὶ Εζεκιου βασιλέων Ιουδα ὑπὲρ ὧν εἶδεν περὶ Σαμαρείας καὶ περὶ Ιερουσαλημ
Verbum Domini, quod factum est ad Michaeam Morasthiten, in diebus Joathan, Achaz, et Ezechiae, regum Juda, quod vidit super Samariam et Jerusalem.
ወኮነ፡ ቃለ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ኀበ፡ ሚኪያስ፡ ወልደ፡ ሞራት፡ በመዋዕለ፡ ኢዩአታ፡ ወአካዝ፡ ወሕዝቅስ፡ ነገስተ፡ ይሁዳ፡ ዘርእየ፡ በእንተ፡ ሰማርያ፡ ወበእንተ፡ ኢየሩሳሌም።
Yahweh’s word that came to Micah of Morasheth in the days of Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, which he saw concerning Samaria and Jerusalem.
1:2
שִׁמְעוּ֙ עַמִּ֣ים כֻּלָּ֔ם הַקְשִׁ֖יבִי אֶ֣רֶץ וּמְלֹאָ֑הּ וִיהִי֩ אֲדֹנָ֨י יֱהֹוִ֤ה בָּכֶם֙ לְעֵ֔ד אֲדֹנָ֖י מֵהֵיכַ֥ל קׇדְשֽׁוֹ׃
ἀκούσατε λαοί λόγους καὶ προσεχέτω ἡ γῆ καὶ πάντες οἱ ἐν αὐτῇ καὶ ἔσται κύριος ἐν ὑμῖν εἰς μαρτύριον κύριος ἐξ οἴκου ἁγίου αὐτοῦ
Audite, populi omnes, et attendat terra, et plenitudo ejus : et sit Dominus Deus vobis in testem, Dominus de templo sancto suo.
ስምዑ፡ አህዛብ፡ ወታጽምዕ፡ ምድር፡ ወኲሎሙ፡ እለ፡ ይነብሩ፡ ውስቴታ፡ ወይከውነክሙ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ሰማዕተክሙ፡ እግዚአብሔርሰ፡ ውስተ፡ ቤተ፡ መቅደሱ።
Hear, you peoples, all of you! Listen, O earth, and all that is therein. Let the Lord Yahweh be witness against you, the Lord from his holy temple.
1:3
כִּֽי־הִנֵּ֥ה יְהֹוָ֖ה יֹצֵ֣א מִמְּקוֹמ֑וֹ וְיָרַ֥ד וְדָרַ֖ךְ עַל־[בָּ֥מֳתֵי] (במותי) אָֽרֶץ׃
διότι ἰδοὺ κύριος ἐκπορεύεται ἐκ τοῦ τόπου αὐτοῦ καὶ καταβήσεται καὶ ἐπιβήσεται ἐπὶ τὰ ὕψη τῆς γῆς
Quia ecce Dominus egredietur de loco suo, et descendet, et calcabit super excelsa terrae.
ናሁ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ይወፅአ፡ እምቤቱ፡ ወይወርድ፡ ወይነብር፡ ዲበ፡ መልዕልተ፡ ምድር።
For behold, Yahweh comes out of his place, and will come down and tread on the high places of the earth.
1:4
וְנָמַ֤סּוּ הֶֽהָרִים֙ תַּחְתָּ֔יו וְהָעֲמָקִ֖ים יִתְבַּקָּ֑עוּ כַּדּוֹנַג֙ מִפְּנֵ֣י הָאֵ֔שׁ כְּמַ֖יִם מֻגָּרִ֥ים בְּמוֹרָֽד׃
καὶ σαλευθήσεται τὰ ὄρη ὑποκάτωθεν αὐτοῦ καὶ αἱ κοιλάδες τακήσονται ὡς κηρὸς ἀπὸ προσώπου πυρὸς καὶ ὡς ὕδωρ καταφερόμενον ἐν καταβάσει
Et consumentur montes subtus eum, et valles scindentur sicut cera a facie ignis, et sicut aquae quae decurrunt in praeceps.
ወያንቀለቅሉ፡ አድባ፡ ባታሕቱ፡ ወይትመሰው፡ አውግ፡ ከመ፡ ሰምዕ፡ እምቅድመ፡ ገጸ፡ እሳት፡ ወከመ፡ ማይ፡ ዘይውኀዝ፡ እምአድባር፡ በተታልዎ።
The mountains melt under him, and the valleys split apart like wax before the fire, like waters that are poured down a steep place.
1:5
בְּפֶ֤שַׁע יַֽעֲקֹב֙ כׇּל־זֹ֔את וּבְחַטֹּ֖אות בֵּ֣ית יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל מִֽי־פֶ֣שַׁע יַעֲקֹ֗ב הֲלוֹא֙ שֹֽׁמְר֔וֹן וּמִי֙ בָּמ֣וֹת יְהוּדָ֔ה הֲל֖וֹא יְרוּשָׁלָֽ͏ִם׃
διὰ ἀσέβειαν Ιακωβ πάντα ταῦτα καὶ διὰ ἁμαρτίαν οἴκου Ισραηλ τίς ἡ ἀσέβεια τοῦ Ιακωβ οὐ Σαμάρεια καὶ τίς ἡ ἁμαρτία οἴκου Ιουδα οὐχὶ Ιερουσαλημ
In scelere Jacob omne istud, et in peccatis domus Israël. Quod scelus Jacob ? nonne Samaria ? et quae excelsa Judae ? nonne Jerusalem ?
ዝንቱ፡ ኲሉ፡ ዜከውን፡ በእንተ፡ ኃጢአቱ፡ ለያቆብ፡ ወበእነተ፡ ጌጋዩሙ፡ ለቤተ፡ እስራኤል፡ ምንተኑ፡ ኃጢያቱ፡ ለያዕቆብ፡ አኮኑ፡ ሰማሪያ፡ ውትኑ፡ ጌጋዩሙ፡ ለቤተ፡ ይሁዳ፡ እኮኑ፡ ኢየሩሳሌም።
“All this is for the disobedience of Jacob, and for the sins of the house of Israel. What is the disobedience of Jacob? Isn’t it Samaria? And what are the high places of Judah? Aren’t they Jerusalem?
1:6
וְשַׂמְתִּ֥י שֹׁמְר֛וֹן לְעִ֥י הַשָּׂדֶ֖ה לְמַטָּ֣עֵי כָ֑רֶם וְהִגַּרְתִּ֤י לַגַּי֙ אֲבָנֶ֔יהָ וִיסֹדֶ֖יהָ אֲגַלֶּֽה׃
καὶ θήσομαι Σαμάρειαν εἰς ὀπωροφυλάκιον ἀγροῦ καὶ εἰς φυτείαν ἀμπελῶνος καὶ κατασπάσω εἰς χάος τοὺς λίθους αὐτῆς καὶ τὰ θεμέλια αὐτῆς ἀποκαλύψω
Et ponam Samariam quasi acervum lapidum in agro, cum plantatur vinea ; et detraham in vallem lapides ejus, et fundamenta ejus revelabo.
ወእርስያ፡ ላርያ፡ ከመለልገተ፡ ዓቃቤ፡ ለበቆ፡ በገዳም፡ ወከመ፡ ተክለ፡ ወይን፡ ተክለ፡ ወይን፡ ወአነስቶ፡ ለእበኒሓ፡ ወአንኀሎ፡ ለወእከስቶ፡ ለመሰረታቲሓ።
Therefore I will make Samaria like a rubble heap of the field, like places for planting vineyards; and I will pour down its stones into the valley, and I will uncover its foundations.
1:7
וְכׇל־פְּסִילֶ֣יהָ יֻכַּ֗תּוּ וְכׇל־אֶתְנַנֶּ֙יהָ֙ יִשָּׂרְפ֣וּ בָאֵ֔שׁ וְכׇל־עֲצַבֶּ֖יהָ אָשִׂ֣ים שְׁמָמָ֑ה כִּ֠י מֵאֶתְנַ֤ן זוֹנָה֙ קִבָּ֔צָה וְעַד־אֶתְנַ֥ן זוֹנָ֖ה יָשֽׁוּבוּ׃
καὶ πάντα τὰ γλυπτὰ αὐτῆς κατακόψουσιν καὶ πάντα τὰ μισθώματα αὐτῆς ἐμπρήσουσιν ἐν πυρί καὶ πάντα τὰ εἴδωλα αὐτῆς θήσομαι εἰς ἀφανισμόν διότι ἐκ μισθωμάτων πορνείας συνήγαγεν καὶ ἐκ μισθωμάτων πορνείας συνέστρεψεν
Et omnia sculptilia ejus concidentur, et omnes mercedes ejus comburentur igne, et omnia idola ejus ponam in perditionem, quia de mercedibus meretricis congregata sunt, et usque ad mercedem meretricis revertentur.
ወይሰብሩ፡ ኲሉ፡ ግልፎሃ፡ ወያውዕዩ፡ በእሳተ፡ ኲሎ፡ ደነሳ፡ ወአጠፍእ፡ ኲሎለ፡ ጣዖታ፡ እምደነሰ፡ ዝሙታ፡ እስመ፡ አስተጋብአቶሙ፡ በደነሰ፡ መሐዛኒሃ፡ ወተገበረት።
All her idols will be beaten to pieces, all her temple gifts will be burned with fire, and I will destroy all her images; for of the hire of a prostitute has she gathered them, and to the hire of a prostitute shall they return.”
1:8
עַל־זֹאת֙ אֶסְפְּדָ֣ה וְאֵילִ֔ילָה אֵילְכָ֥ה (שילל) [שׁוֹלָ֖ל] וְעָר֑וֹם אֶעֱשֶׂ֤ה מִסְפֵּד֙ כַּתַּנִּ֔ים וְאֵ֖בֶל כִּבְנ֥וֹת יַעֲנָֽה׃
ἕνεκεν τούτου κόψεται καὶ θρηνήσει πορεύσεται ἀνυπόδετος καὶ γυμνή ποιήσεται κοπετὸν ὡς δρακόντων καὶ πένθος ὡς θυγατέρων σειρήνων
Super hoc plangam, et ululabo ; vadam spoliatus, et nudus ; faciam planctum velut draconum, et luctum quasi struthionum :
በእንተ፡ ዝንቱ፡ ትበኪ፡ ወትላሑ፡ ወተሐውር፡ ዕራቃ፡ ዘእነበለ፡ አሣእን፡ ዋትበኪ፡ ከመ፡ ከይሲ፡ ወትላሑ፡ ከመ፡ አዋልደ፡ ሴርኖን።
For this I will lament and wail. I will go stripped and naked. I will howl like the jackals and mourn like the ostriches.
1:9
כִּ֥י אֲנוּשָׁ֖ה מַכּוֹתֶ֑יהָ כִּי־בָ֙אָה֙ עַד־יְהוּדָ֔ה נָגַ֛ע עַד־שַׁ֥עַר עַמִּ֖י עַד־יְרוּשָׁלָֽ͏ִם׃
ὅτι κατεκράτησεν ἡ πληγὴ αὐτῆς διότι ἦλθεν ἕως Ιουδα καὶ ἥψατο ἕως πύλης λαοῦ μου ἕως Ιερουσαλημ
quia desperata est plaga ejus, quia venit usque ad Judam ; tetigit portam populi mei usque ad Jerusalem.
እስመ፡ ጸንዐ፡ መቅሠፍታ፡ እስመ፡ መጽአት፡ እስከ፡ ይሁዳ፡ ወበጽሐት፡ እስከ፡ አንቀጽ፡ ሕዝብየ፡ እስከ፡ ኢሩሳሌም።
For her wounds are incurable; for it has come even to Judah. It reaches to the gate of my people, even to Jerusalem.
1:10
בְּגַת֙ אַל־תַּגִּ֔ידוּ בָּכ֖וֹ אַל־תִּבְכּ֑וּ בְּבֵ֣ית לְעַפְרָ֔ה עָפָ֖ר (התפלשתי) [הִתְפַּלָּֽשִׁי]׃
οἱ ἐν Γεθ μὴ μεγαλύνεσθε οἱ ἐν Ακιμ μὴ ἀνοικοδομεῖτε ἐξ οἴκου κατὰ γέλωτα γῆν καταπάσασθε κατὰ γέλωτα ὑμῶν
In Geth nolite annuntiare ; lacrimis ne ploretis ; in domo pulveris pulvere vos conspergite.
ኢኬ፡ ትዜኀሩ፡ ሰብአ፡ ጌት፡ ወኢተሐንጹ፡ እለ፡ ውስተ፡ አቂም፡ ቤተ፡ ኃሳርክሙ፡ ሐመድ፡ ደዩ፡ ውስተ፡ ርእስክሙ፡ ለኃሳርክሙ።
Don’t tell it in Gath. Don’t weep at all. At Beth Ophrah I have rolled myself in the dust.
1:11
עִבְרִ֥י לָכֶ֛ם יוֹשֶׁ֥בֶת שָׁפִ֖יר עֶרְיָה־בֹ֑שֶׁת לֹ֤א יָֽצְאָה֙ יוֹשֶׁ֣בֶת צַֽאֲנָ֔ן מִסְפַּד֙ בֵּ֣ית הָאֵ֔צֶל יִקַּ֥ח מִכֶּ֖ם עֶמְדָּתֽוֹ׃
κατοικοῦσα καλῶς τὰς πόλεις αὐτῆς οὐκ ἐξῆλθεν κατοικοῦσα Σεννααν κόψασθαι οἶκον ἐχόμενον αὐτῆς λήμψεται ἐξ ὑμῶν πληγὴν ὀδύνης
Et transite vobis, habitatio pulchra, confusa ignominia : non est egressa quae habitat in exitu : planctum domus vicina accipiet ex vobis, quae stetit sibimet.
እንተ፡ ትነብረ፡ ሰናየ፡ ውስተ፡ አህጉሪሃ፡ ወኢወፅእ፡ እንተ፡ ትነብር፡ ውስተ፡ ሰናኦር፡ ዋይበክዩ፡ ምስሌሃ፡ አብያተ፡ ዘጎራ፡ ወይነስእ፡ እምኔክሙ፡ መቅሠፍተ፡ ዋፃዕረ።
Pass on, inhabitant of Shaphir, in nakedness and shame. The inhabitant of Zaanan won’t come out. The wailing of Beth Ezel will take from you his protection.
1:12
כִּֽי־חָ֥לָֽה לְט֖וֹב יוֹשֶׁ֣בֶת מָר֑וֹת כִּֽי־יָ֤רַד רָע֙ מֵאֵ֣ת יְהֹוָ֔ה לְשַׁ֖עַר יְרוּשָׁלָֽ͏ִם׃
τίς ἤρξατο εἰς ἀγαθὰ κατοικούσῃ ὀδύνας ὅτι κατέβη κακὰ παρὰ κυρίου ἐπὶ πύλας Ιερουσαλημ
Quia infirmata est in bonum, quae habitat in amaritudinibus ; quia descendit malum a Domino in portam Jerusalem.
ምንተ፡ ብኪ፡ ምስለ፡ ሠናይት፡ ንተ፡ ትነብር፡ ውስተ፡ ማሕምም፡ እስመ፡ ዋርደት፡ እኪት፡ እምኀበ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ላዕለ፡ እናቀጸ፡ ኢየሩሳሌም።
For the inhabitant of Maroth waits anxiously for good, because evil has come down from Yahweh to the gate of Jerusalem.
1:13
רְתֹ֧ם הַמֶּרְכָּבָ֛ה לָרֶ֖כֶשׁ יוֹשֶׁ֣בֶת לָכִ֑ישׁ רֵאשִׁ֨ית חַטָּ֥את הִיא֙ לְבַת־צִיּ֔וֹן כִּי־בָ֥ךְ נִמְצְא֖וּ פִּשְׁעֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
ψόφος ἁρμάτων καὶ ἱππευόντων κατοικοῦσα Λαχις ἀρχηγὸς ἁμαρτίας αὐτή ἐστιν τῇ θυγατρὶ Σιων ὅτι ἐν σοὶ εὑρέθησαν ἀσέβειαι τοῦ Ισραηλ
Tumultus quadrigae stuporis habitanti Lachis : principium peccati est filiae Sion, quia in te inventa sunt scelera Israël.
ድምጽ፡ ሠረገላ፡ ወአፍራስ፡ ላዕለ፡ እንተ፡ ተነብረ፡ ላኪስ፡ መልአከ፡ ኃጢአታ፡ ለውእቱ፡ ለወለተ፡ ጽዩን፡ እስመ፡ ላዕሌኪ፡ ተረክበ፡ ጣዖተ፡ እስራኤል።
Harness the chariot to the swift steed, inhabitant of Lachish. She was the beginning of sin to the daughter of Zion; for the transgressions of Israel were found in you.
1:14
לָכֵן֙ תִּתְּנִ֣י שִׁלּוּחִ֔ים עַ֖ל מוֹרֶ֣שֶׁת גַּ֑ת בָּתֵּ֤י אַכְזִיב֙ לְאַכְזָ֔ב לְמַלְכֵ֖י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
διὰ τοῦτο δώσεις ἐξαποστελλομένους ἕως κληρονομίας Γεθ οἴκους ματαίους εἰς κενὰ ἐγένετο τοῖς βασιλεῦσιν τοῦ Ισραηλ
Propterea dabit emissarios super haereditatem Geth, domus mendacii in deceptionem regibus Israël.
በእንተ፡ ዘፈኖኪ፡ ሐዋርያተ፡ ውስተ፡ መክፈልተ፡ ጌት፡ ከነቶ፡ ኮኑ፡ ወዐረቁ፡ አብያተ፡ መንግስተ፡ እስራኤል።
Therefore you will give a parting gift to Moresheth Gath. The houses of Achzib will be a deceitful thing to the kings of Israel.
1:15
עֹ֗ד הַיֹּרֵשׁ֙ אָ֣בִי לָ֔ךְ יוֹשֶׁ֖בֶת מָֽרֵשָׁ֑ה עַד־עֲדֻלָּ֥ם יָב֖וֹא כְּב֥וֹד יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
ἕως τοὺς κληρονόμους ἀγάγω σοι κατοικοῦσα Λαχις κληρονομία ἕως Οδολλαμ ἥξει ἡ δόξα τῆς θυγατρὸς Ισραηλ
Adhuc haeredem adducam tibi quae habitas in Maresa ; usque ad Odollam veniet gloria Israël.
ወይወስድሙ፡ ለሰብአ፡ ላኪስ፡ ኀበ፡ መዋስት፡ ወይወርስዎሙስከ፡ አዶላም፡ ወያመጽኡ፡ ክብረ፡ ለወለተ፡ እስራኤል።
I will yet bring a conqueror to you, inhabitants of Mareshah. The glory of Israel will come to Adullam.
1:16
קׇרְחִ֣י וָגֹ֔זִּי עַל־בְּנֵ֖י תַּעֲנוּגָ֑יִךְ הַרְחִ֤בִי קׇרְחָתֵךְ֙ כַּנֶּ֔שֶׁר כִּ֥י גָל֖וּ מִמֵּֽךְ׃ {ס}
ξύρησαι καὶ κεῖραι ἐπὶ τὰ τέκνα τὰ τρυφερά σου ἐμπλάτυνον τὴν χηρείαν σου ὡς ἀετός ὅτι ᾐχμαλωτεύθησαν ἀπὸ σοῦ
Decalvare, et tondere super filios deliciarum tuarum ; dilata calvitium tuum sicut aquila, quoniam captivi ducti sunt ex te.
ግምዒ፡ ርእሰኪ፡ ወተላጸዩ፡ ላዕለ፡ ደቂቅኪ፡ ልሕድ፡ አርሕቢ፡ ብርሐተኪ፡ ከመ፡ ንስር፡ እስመ፡ ፄወውዎሙ፡ እምኀቤኪ።
Shave your heads, and cut off your hair for the children of your delight. Enlarge your baldness like the vulture, for they have gone into captivity from you!
