5:1 ⧉ ⤴︎ Ἐγένετο δὲ ἐν τῷ τὸν ὄχλον ἐπικεῖσθαι αὐτῷ καὶ ἀκούειν τὸν λόγον τοῦ θεοῦ , καὶ αὐτὸς ἦν ἑστὼς παρὰ τὴν λίμνην Γεννησαρέτ ,
Factum est autem , cum turbae irruerunt in eum ut audirent verbum Dei , et ipse stabat secus stagnum Genesareth .
ወሀለዉ ኀቤሁ ሰብእ ብዙኃን ወያጸምዑ ቃለ እግዚአብሔር ወውእቱሰ ይቀውም መንገለ ሐይቀ ባሕረ ጌንሴሬጥ ።
Now while the multitude pressed on him and heard the word of God, he was standing by the lake of Gennesaret.
5:2 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἴδεν δύο πλοιάρια ἑστῶτα παρὰ τὴν λίμνην · οἱ δὲ ἁλεεῖς ἀπ’ αὐτῶν ἀποβάντες ἔπλυναν τὰ δίκτυα .
Et vidit duas naves stantes secus stagnum : piscatores autem descenderant , et lavabant retia .
ወርእየ ክልኤተ አሕማረ ኀበ ውእቱ ሐይቅ ወወረዱ እምኔሆን መሠግራን ይኅፅቡ መሣግሪሆሙ ።
He saw two boats standing by the lake, but the fishermen had gone out of them and were washing their nets.
5:3 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἐμβὰς δὲ εἰς ἓν τῶν πλοίων , ὃ ἦν Σίμωνος , ἠρώτησεν αὐτὸν ἀπὸ τῆς γῆς ἐπαναγαγεῖν ὀλίγον , καθίσας δὲ ἐν τῷ πλοίῳ ἐδίδασκεν τοὺς ὄχλους .
Ascendens autem in unam navim , quae erat Simonis , rogavit eum a terra reducere pusillum . Et sedens docebat de navicula turbas .
ወዐርገ ውስተ አሐቲ ሐመር እምኔሆን ወይእቲ ሐመር እንተ ስምዖን ወይቤሎ ከመ ያርኅቃ ሕቀ እምነ ምድር ወነበረ ውስተ ሐመር ወመሀሮሙ ለሕዝብ ።
He entered into one of the boats, which was Simon’s, and asked him to put out a little from the land. He sat down and taught the multitudes from the boat.
5:4 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὡς δὲ ἐπαύσατο λαλῶν , εἶπεν πρὸς τὸν Σίμωνα · ἐπανάγαγε εἰς τὸ βάθος καὶ χαλάσατε τὰ δίκτυα ὑμῶν εἰς ἄγραν .
Ut cessavit autem loqui , dixit ad Simonem : Duc in altum , et laxate retia vestra in capturam .
ወሶበ አርመመ ይቤሎ ለስምዖን ያእትቱ መንገለ ዕመቀ ባሕር ወያውርዱ መሣግሪሆሙ ወያሥግሩ ።
When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.”
5:5 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἀποκριθεὶς Σίμων εἶπεν · ἐπιστάτα , δι’ ὅλης νυκτὸς κοπιάσαντες οὐδὲν ἐλάβομεν · ἐπὶ δὲ τῷ ῥήματί σου χαλάσω τὰ δίκτυα .
Et respondens Simon , dixit illi : Praeceptor , per totam noctem laborantes nihil cepimus : in verbo autem tuo laxabo rete .
ወአውሥአ ስምዖን ወይቤሎ ሊቅ ሰራሕነ ኵላ ሌሊተ እንዘ ናወርድ መሣግሪነ ወአልቦ ዘአኀዝነ ወባሕቱ እስመ አዘዝከነ ናወርድ መሣግሪነ ።
Simon answered him, “Master, we worked all night and caught nothing; but at your word I will let down the net.”
5:6 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ τοῦτο ποιήσαντες συνέκλεισαν πλῆθος ἰχθύων πολύ · διερρήσσετο δὲ τὰ δίκτυα αὐτῶν .
Et cum hoc fecissent , concluserunt piscium multitudinem copiosam : rumpebatur autem rete eorum .
ወገቢሮሙ ከማሁ ተእኅዙ ብዙኃን ዓሣት ፈድፋደ እስከ ይትበተክ መሣግሪሆሙ ።
When they had done this, they caught a great multitude of fish, and their net was breaking.
5:7 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ κατένευσαν τοῖς μετόχοις ἐν τῷ ἑτέρῳ πλοίῳ τοῦ ἐλθόντας συλλαβέσθαι αὐτοῖς · καὶ ἦλθαν , καὶ ἔπλησαν ἀμφότερα τὰ πλοῖα , ὥστε βυθίζεσθαι αὐτά .
Et annuerunt sociis , qui erant in alia navi , ut venirent , et adjuvarent eos . Et venerunt , et impleverunt ambas naviculas , ita ut pene mergerentur .
ወጸውዕዎሙ ለቢጾሙ እለ ውስተ ካልእ ሐመር ከመ ይምጽኡ ወይርድእዎሙ ወመጽኡ ወመልኡ ክልኤሆን አሕማረ እስከ ይሰጠማ ።
They beckoned to their partners in the other boat, that they should come and help them. They came and filled both boats, so that they began to sink.
5:8 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἰδὼν δὲ Σίμων Πέτρος προσέπεσεν τοῖς γόνασιν Ἰησοῦ λέγων · ἔξελθε ἀπ’ ἐμοῦ , ὅτι ἀνὴρ ἁμαρτωλός εἰμι , κύριε .
Quod cum videret Simon Petrus , procidit ad genua Jesu , dicens : Exi a me , quia homo peccator sum , Domine .
ወርእዮ ስምዖን ጴጥሮስ አስተብረከ ወሰገደ ታሕተ እገሪሁ ለእግዚእ ኢየሱስ ወይቤሎ ኅድገኒ እግዚኦ ወሑር እምኔየ እስመ ብእሲ ኃጥእ አነ ።
But Simon Peter, when he saw it, fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, “Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, Lord.”
5:9 ⧉ ⤴︎ θάμβος γὰρ περιέσχεν αὐτὸν καὶ πάντας τοὺς σὺν αὐτῷ ἐπὶ τῇ ἄγρᾳ τῶν ἰχθύων ᾗ συνέλαβον ,
Stupor enim circumdederat eum , et omnes qui cum illo erant , in captura piscium , quam ceperant :
እስመ አኀዞ ድንጋፄ ወኵሎሙ እለ ምስሌሁ ደንገፁ በእንተ ዓሣት ዘተሠግሩ ።
For he was amazed, and all who were with him, at the catch of fish which they had caught;
5:10 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὁμοίως δὲ καὶ Ἰάκωβον καὶ Ἰωάννην υἱοὺς Ζεβεδαίου , οἳ ἦσαν κοινωνοὶ τῷ Σίμωνι . καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς τὸν Σίμωνα ὁ Ἰησοῦς · μὴ φοβοῦ · ἀπὸ τοῦ νῦν ἀνθρώπους ἔσῃ ζωγρῶν .
similiter autem Jacobum et Joannem , filios Zebedaei , qui erant socii Simonis . Et ait ad Simonem Jesus : Noli timere : ex hoc jam homines eris capiens .
ወከማሁ ያዕቆብኒ ወዮሐንስ ደቂቀ ዘብዴዎስ አዕርክቲሁ ለስምዖን ወይቤሎ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ለስምዖን ኢትፍራህ እምይእዜሰ ሰብአ ታሤግር ።
and so also were James and John, sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. Jesus said to Simon, “Don’t be afraid. From now on you will be catching people alive.”
5:11 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ καταγαγόντες τὰ πλοῖα ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν , ἀφέντες πάντα ἠκολούθησαν αὐτῷ .
Et subductis ad terram navibus , relictis omnibus , secuti sunt eum .
ወአውፅኡ አሕማሪሆሙ ውስተ ምድር ወኀደጉ ኵሎ ወተለውዎ ።
When they had brought their boats to land, they left everything, and followed him.
5:12 ⧉ ⤴︎ Καὶ ἐγένετο ἐν τῷ εἶναι αὐτὸν ἐν μιᾷ τῶν πόλεων , καὶ ἰδοὺ ἀνὴρ πλήρης λέπρας · ἰδὼν δὲ τὸν Ἰησοῦν , πεσὼν ἐπὶ πρόσωπον ἐδεήθη αὐτοῦ λέγων · κύριε , ἐὰν θέλῃς , δύνασαί με καθαρίσαι .
Et factum est , cum esset in una civitatum , et ecce vir plenus lepra , et videns Jesum , et procidens in faciem , rogavit eum , dicens : Domine , si vis , potes me mundare .
ወእንዘ ሀሎ ውስተ አሐቲ ሀገር መጽአ ብእሲ ዘለምጽ ኵለንታሁ ወሶበ ርእዮ ለእግዚእ ኢየሱስ ሰገደ ሎቱ በገጹ ወአስተብቍዖ ወይቤሎ እግዚኦ እመሰ ፈቀድከ ትክል አንጽሖትየ ።
While he was in one of the cities, behold, there was a man full of leprosy. When he saw Jesus, he fell on his face and begged him, saying, “Lord, if you want to, you can make me clean.”
5:13 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἐκτείνας τὴν χεῖρα ἥψατο αὐτοῦ εἰπών · θέλω , καθαρίσθητι . καὶ εὐθέως ἡ λέπρα ἀπῆλθεν ἀπ’ αὐτοῦ .
Et extendens manum , tetigit eum dicens : Volo : mundare . Et confestim lepra discessit ab illo .
ወሰፍሐ እዴሁ ወገሠሦ ወይቤሎ እፈቅድ ንጻሕ ወኀደጎ ለምጹ ሶቤሃ ።
He stretched out his hand and touched him, saying, “I want to. Be made clean.” Immediately the leprosy left him.
5:14 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ αὐτὸς παρήγγειλεν αὐτῷ μηδενὶ εἰπεῖν , ἀλλὰ ἀπελθὼν δεῖξον σεαυτὸν τῷ ἱερεῖ , καὶ προσένεγκε περὶ τοῦ καθαρισμοῦ σου καθὼς προσέταξεν Μωϋσῆς , εἰς μαρτύριον αὐτοῖς .
Et ipse praecepit illi ut nemini diceret : sed , Vade , ostende te sacerdoti , et offer pro emundatione tua , sicut praecepit Moyses , in testimonium illis .
ወከልኦ ኢይንግር ወኢለመኑሂ ወይቤሎ ሑር ወአፍትን ርእሰከ ለካህን ወአብእ መባአከ በእንተ ዘነጻሕከ በከመ አዘዘ ሙሴ ከመ ይኩን ስምዐ ላዕሌሆሙ ።
He commanded him to tell no one, “But go your way and show yourself to the priest, and offer for your cleansing according to what Moses commanded, for a testimony to them.”
5:15 ⧉ ⤴︎ διήρχετο δὲ μᾶλλον ὁ λόγος περὶ αὐτοῦ , καὶ συνήρχοντο ὄχλοι πολλοὶ ἀκούειν καὶ θεραπεύεσθαι ἀπὸ τῶν ἀσθενειῶν αὐτῶν ·
Perambulabat autem magis sermo de illo : et conveniebant turbae multae ut audirent , et curarentur ab infirmitatibus suis .
ወተሰምዐ ነገሩ ፈድፋደ ወይመጽኡ ብዙኃን ሰብእ ኀቤሁ ይስምዕዎ ወይትፌወሱ እምደዌሆሙ ።
But the report concerning him spread much more, and great multitudes came together to hear and to be healed by him of their infirmities.
5:16 ⧉ ⤴︎ αὐτὸς δὲ ἦν ὑποχωρῶν ἐν ταῖς ἐρήμοις καὶ προσευχόμενος .
Ipse autem secedebat in desertum , et orabat .
ወውእቱሰ ይወፅእ ገዳመ ወይጼሊ በህየ ።
But he withdrew himself into the desert and prayed.
5:17 ⧉ ⤴︎ Καὶ ἐγένετο ἐν μιᾷ τῶν ἡμερῶν καὶ αὐτὸς ἦν διδάσκων , καὶ ἦσαν καθήμενοι Φαρισαῖοι καὶ νομοδιδάσκαλοι , οἳ ἦσαν ἐληλυθότες ἐκ πάσης κώμης τῆς Γαλιλαίας καὶ Ἰουδαίας καὶ Ἱερουσαλήμ · καὶ δύναμις κυρίου ἦν εἰς τὸ ἰᾶσθαι αὐτόν .
Et factum est in una dierum , et ipse sedebat docens . Et erant pharisaei sedentes , et legis doctores , qui venerant ex omni castello Galilaeae , et Judaeae , et Jerusalem : et virtus Domini erat ad sanandum eos .
ወእምዝ ኮነ በአሐቲ ዕለት እመዋዕል እንዘ ሀሎ ይሜህሮሙ ወይነብሩ ፈሪሳውያን ወሊቃናተ ኦሪት እለ መጽኡ እምገሊላ ወእምኵሉ አህጉረ ይሁዳ ወእምኢየሩሳሌም ወኀይለ እግዚአብሔር ውእቱ በዘይፌውስ ።
On one of those days, he was teaching; and there were Pharisees and teachers of the law sitting by who had come out of every village of Galilee, Judea, and Jerusalem. The power of the Lord was with him to heal them.
5:18 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἰδοὺ ἄνδρες φέροντες ἐπὶ κλίνης ἄνθρωπον ὃς ἦν παραλελυμένος , καὶ ἐζήτουν αὐτὸν εἰσενεγκεῖν καὶ θεῖναι ἐνώπιον αὐτοῦ .
Et ecce viri portantes in lecto hominem , qui erat paralyticus : et quaerebant eum inferre , et ponere ante eum .
ወአምጽኡ ኀቤሁ ብእሴ መፃጕዐ እንዘ ይጸውርዎ አርባዕቱ ዕደው በዐራት ወፈቀዱ ያብእዎ ኀቤሁ ይፈውሶ ።
Behold, men brought a paralyzed man on a cot, and they sought to bring him in to lay before Jesus.
5:19 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ μὴ εὑρόντες ποίας εἰσενέγκωσιν αὐτὸν διὰ τὸν ὄχλον , ἀναβάντες ἐπὶ τὸ δῶμα διὰ τῶν κεράμων καθῆκαν αὐτὸν σὺν τῷ κλινιδίῳ εἰς τὸ μέσον ἔμπροσθεν τοῦ Ἰησοῦ .
Et non invenientes qua parte illum inferrent prae turba , ascenderunt supra tectum , et per tegulas summiserunt eum cum lecto in medium ante Jesum .
ወኀጥኡ እንተ ኀበ ያበውእዎ እስመ ጽፉቅ ሰብእ ወዐርጉ ናሕሰ ወነሠቱ ጠፈረ ወአውረድዎ ምስለ ዐራቱ ውስተ ቤት ቅድሜሁ ለእግዚእ ኢየሱስ ።
Not finding a way to bring him in because of the multitude, they went up to the housetop and let him down through the tiles with his cot into the middle before Jesus.
5:20 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἰδὼν τὴν πίστιν αὐτῶν εἶπεν · ἄνθρωπε , ἀφέωνταί σοι αἱ ἁμαρτίαι σου .
Quorum fidem ut vidit , dixit : Homo , remittuntur tibi peccata tua .
ወርእዮ ሃይማኖቶሙ ይቤሎ ለውእቱ ብእሲ ተኀድገ ለከ ኀጢአትከ ።
Seeing their faith, he said to him, “Man, your sins are forgiven you.”
5:21 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἤρξαντο διαλογίζεσθαι οἱ γραμματεῖς καὶ οἱ Φαρισαῖοι λέγοντες · τίς ἐστιν οὗτος ὃς λαλεῖ βλασφημίας ; τίς δύναται ἁμαρτίας ἀφεῖναι εἰ μὴ μόνος ὁ θεός ;
Et coeperunt cogitare scribae et pharisaei , dicentes : Quis est hic , qui loquitur blasphemias ? quis potest dimittere peccata , nisi solus Deus ?
ወአኀዙ የኀልዩ ጸሐፍት ወፈሪሳውያን ወይበሉ ምንትኑ ውእቱ ዝንቱ ዘይነብብ ፅርፈተ መኑ ይክል ኀዲገ ኀጢአት ዘእንበለ እግዚአብሔር ባሕቲቱ ።
The scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, “Who is this who speaks blasphemies? Who can forgive sins, but God alone?”
5:22 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἐπιγνοὺς δὲ ὁ Ἰησοῦς τοὺς διαλογισμοὺς αὐτῶν ἀποκριθεὶς εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτούς · τί διαλογίζεσθε ἐν ταῖς καρδίαις ὑμῶν ;
Ut cognovit autem Jesus cogitationes eorum , respondens , dixit ad illos : Quid cogitatis in cordibus vestris ?
ወአእመሮሙ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ዘይኄልዩ ወይቤሎሙ ምንተኑ ትኄልዩ በልብክሙ ።
But Jesus, perceiving their thoughts, answered them, “Why are you reasoning so in your hearts?
5:23 ⧉ ⤴︎ τί ἐστιν εὐκοπώτερον , εἰπεῖν · ἀφέωνταί σοι αἱ ἁμαρτίαι σου , ἢ εἰπεῖν · ἔγειρε καὶ περιπάτει ;
Quid est facilius dicere : Dimittuntur tibi peccata : an dicere : Surge , et ambula ?
ምንት ይቀልል እምብሂለ ተኀድገ ለከ ኀጢአትከ ወእምብሂለ ተንሥእ ወጹር ዐራተከ ወሑር ።
Which is easier to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven you,’ or to say, ‘Arise and walk’?
5:24 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἵνα δὲ εἰδῆτε ὅτι ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου ἐξουσίαν ἔχει ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς ἀφιέναι ἁμαρτίας , εἶπεν τῷ παραλελυμένῳ · σοὶ λέγω , ἔγειρε καὶ ἄρας τὸ κλινίδιόν σου πορεύου εἰς τὸν οἶκόν σου .
Ut autem sciatis quia Filius hominis habet potestatem in terra dimittendi peccata , (ait paralytico ) tibi dico , surge , tolle lectum tuum , et vade in domum tuam .
ከመ ታእምሩ ከመ ብዉሕ ሎቱ ለወልደ ዕጓለ እመሕያው ይኅድግ ኀጢአተ በዲበ ምድር ወይቤሎ ለውእቱ ድዉይ ለከ እብለከ ተንሥእ ወንሣእ ዐራተከ ወእቱ ቤተከ ።
But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins,” he said to the paralyzed man, “I tell you, arise, take up your cot, and go to your house.”
5:25 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ παραχρῆμα ἀναστὰς ἐνώπιον αὐτῶν , ἄρας ἐφ’ ὃ κατέκειτο , ἀπῆλθεν εἰς τὸν οἶκον αὐτοῦ δοξάζων τὸν θεόν .
Et confestim consurgens coram illis , tulit lectum in quo jacebat : et abiit in domum suam , magnificans Deum .
ወተንሥአ ሶቤሃ ወነሥአ ዐራቶ ዘዲቤሁ ይሰክብ በቅድሜሆሙ ወአተወ ቤቶ እንዘ ይሴብሖ ለእግዚአብሔር ።
Immediately he rose up before them, and took up that which he was laying on, and departed to his house, glorifying God.
5:26 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἔκστασις ἔλαβεν ἅπαντας , καὶ ἐδόξαζον τὸν θεόν , καὶ ἐπλήσθησαν φόβου λέγοντες ὅτι εἴδομεν παράδοξα σήμερον .
Et stupor apprehendit omnes , et magnificabant Deum . Et repleti sunt timore , dicentes : Quia vidimus mirabilia hodie .
ወደንገፁ ኵሎሙ ወአእኰትዎ ለእግዚአብሔር ወፈርሁ ብዙኀ ወይቤሉ ርኢነ መንክረ ዮም ።
Amazement took hold on all, and they glorified God. They were filled with fear, saying, “We have seen strange things today.”
5:27 ⧉ ⤴︎ Καὶ μετὰ ταῦτα ἐξῆλθεν , καὶ ἐθεάσατο τελώνην ὀνόματι Λευεὶν καθήμενον ἐπὶ τὸ τελώνιον , καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ · ἀκολούθει μοι .
Et post haec exiit , et vidit publicanum nomine Levi , sedentem ad telonium , et ait illi : Sequere me .
ወእምዝ ወፂኦ እምህየ ርእየ ብእሴ መጸብሐዌ ዘስሙ ሌዊ እንዘ ይነብር ኀበ ምጽባሕ ወይቤሎ ትልወኒ ።
After these things he went out and saw a tax collector named Levi sitting at the tax office, and said to him, “Follow me!”
5:28 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ καταλιπὼν πάντα ἀναστὰς ἠκολούθει αὐτῷ .
Et relictis omnibus , surgens secutus est eum .
ወኀደገ ኵሎ ወተንሥአ ወተለዎ ።
He left everything, and rose up and followed him.
5:29 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἐποίησεν δοχὴν μεγάλην Λευεὶς αὐτῷ ἐν τῇ οἰκίᾳ αὐτοῦ · καὶ ἦν ὄχλος πολὺς τελωνῶν καὶ ἄλλων οἳ ἦσαν μετ’ αὐτῶν κατακείμενοι .
Et fecit ei convivium magnum Levi in domo sua : et erat turba multa publicanorum , et aliorum qui cum illis erant discumbentes .
ወገብረ ሎቱ ሌዊ ዐቢየ ምሳሐ በቤቱ ወብዙኃን ሰብእ ምስሌሁ መጸብሓን ወኃጥኣን እለ ረፈቁ ምስሌሆሙ ወባዕዳንሂ ብዙኃን ።
Levi made a great feast for him in his house. There was a great crowd of tax collectors and others who were reclining with them.
5:30 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἐγόγγυζον οἱ Φαρισαῖοι καὶ οἱ γραμματεῖς αὐτῶν πρὸς τοὺς μαθητὰς αὐτοῦ λέγοντες · διατί μετὰ τῶν τελωνῶν καὶ ἁμαρτωλῶν ἐσθίετε καὶ πίνετε ;
Et murmurabant pharisaei et scribae eorum , dicentes ad discipulos ejus : Quare cum publicanis et peccatoribus manducatis et bibitis ?
ወአንጐርጐሩ ጸሐፍት ወፈሪሳውያን ላዕለ አርዳኢሁ ወይቤልዎሙ ለምንት ትበልዑ ወትሰትዩ ምስለ መጸብሓን ወኃጥኣን ።
Their scribes and the Pharisees murmured against his disciples, saying, “Why do you eat and drink with the tax collectors and sinners?”
5:31 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἀποκριθεὶς ὁ Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτούς · οὐ χρείαν ἔχουσιν οἱ ὑγιαίνοντες ἰατροῦ ἀλλὰ οἱ κακῶς ἔχοντες ·
Et respondens Jesus , dixit ad illos : Non egent qui sani sunt medico , sed qui male habent .
ወአውሥአ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ወይቤሎሙ ሕሙማን ይፈቅድዎ ለዐቃቤ ሥራይ ወአኮ ጥዑያን ።
Jesus answered them, “Those who are healthy have no need for a physician, but those who are sick do.
5:32 ⧉ ⤴︎ οὐκ ἐλήλυθα καλέσαι δικαίους ἀλλὰ ἁμαρτωλοὺς εἰς μετάνοιαν .
Non veni vocare justos , sed peccatores ad poenitentiam .
ኢመጻእኩ እጸውዕ ጻድቃነ አላ ኃጥኣነ ለንስሓ ።
I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.”
5:33 ⧉ ⤴︎ Οἱ δὲ εἶπαν πρὸς αὐτόν · οἱ μαθηταὶ Ἰωάννου νηστεύουσιν πυκνὰ καὶ δεήσεις ποιοῦνται , ὁμοίως καὶ οἱ τῶν Φαρισαίων , οἱ δὲ σοὶ ἐσθίουσιν καὶ πίνουσιν .
At illi dixerunt ad eum : Quare discipuli Joannis jejunant frequenter , et obsecrationes faciunt , similiter et pharisaeorum : tui autem edunt et bibunt ?
ወይቤልዎ ለምንት አርዳኢሁ ለዮሐንስ ጽፉቀ ይጸውሙ ወጸሎተ ይገብሩ ወከማሁ እለሂ ፈሪሳውያን ወአርዳኢከሰ እሊኣከ ይበልዑ ወይሰትዩ ።
They said to him, “Why do John’s disciples often fast and pray, likewise also the disciples of the Pharisees, but yours eat and drink?”
5:34 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὁ δὲ Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτούς , μὴ δύνασθε τοὺς υἱοὺς τοῦ νυμφῶνος , ἐν ᾧ ὁ νυμφίος μετ’ αὐτῶν ἐστιν , ποιῆσαι νηστεῦσαι ;
Quibus ipse ait : Numquid potestis filios sponsi , dum cum illis est sponsus , facere jejunare ?
ወይቤሎሙ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ኢይክሉ ደቂቁ ለመርዓዊ ጸዊመ እንዘ ሀሎ መርዓዊ ምስሌሆሙ ።
He said to them, “Can you make the friends of the bridegroom fast while the bridegroom is with them?
5:35 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἐλεύσονται δὲ ἡμέραι , καὶ ὅταν ἀπαρθῇ ἀπ’ αὐτῶν ὁ νυμφίος , τότε νηστεύσουσιν ἐν ἐκείναις ταῖς ἡμέραις .
Venient autem dies , cum ablatus fuerit ab illis sponsus : tunc jejunabunt in illis diebus .
ወባሕቱ ይመጽእ መዋዕል አመ ይነሥእዎ ለመርዓዊ እምኔሆሙ ወይእተ አሚረ ይጸውሙ ።
But the days will come when the bridegroom will be taken away from them. Then they will fast in those days.”
5:36 ⧉ ⤴︎ Ἔλεγεν δὲ καὶ παραβολὴν πρὸς αὐτοὺς ὅτι οὐδεὶς ἐπίβλημα ἀπο ἱματίου καινοῦ σχίσας ἐπιβάλλει ἐπὶ ἱμάτιον παλαιόν · εἰ δὲ μήγε , καὶ τὸ καινὸν σχίσει καὶ τῷ παλαιῷ οὐ συμφωνήσει τὸ ἐπίβλημα τὸ ἀπὸ τοῦ καινοῦ .
Dicebat autem et similitudinem ad illos : Quia nemo commissuram a novo vestimento immittit in vestimentum vetus : alioquin et novum rumpit , et veteri non convenit commissura a novo .
ወይቤሎሙ በምሳሌ አልቦ ዘይጠቅብ ግምደ ደርግሐ ልብስ ውስተ ሥጠተ ልብስ ብሉይ ወእመአኮሰ ይሠጥጦ ሐዲስ ለብሉይ ወምስለ ብሉይ ኢይዔሪ ሐዲስ ።
He also told a parable to them. “No one puts a piece from a new garment on an old garment, or else he will tear the new, and also the piece from the new will not match the old.
5:37 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ οὐδεὶς βάλλει οἶνον νέον εἰς ἀσκοὺς παλαιούς · εἰ δὲ μήγε , ῥήξει ὁ οἶνος ὁ νέος τοὺς ἀσκούς , καὶ αὐτὸς ἐκχυθήσεται καὶ οἱ ἀσκοὶ ἀπολοῦνται ·
Et nemo mittit vinum novum in utres veteres : alioquin rumpet vinum novum utres , et ipsum effundetur , et utres peribunt :
ወአልቦ ዘይወዲ ወይነ ሐዲሰ ውስተ ዝቅ ብሉይ ወእመአኮሰ ያነቅዖ ወወይኑሂ ይትከዐው ወዝቁሂ ይትኀጐል ።
No one puts new wine into old wineskins, or else the new wine will burst the skins, and it will be spilled and the skins will be destroyed.
5:38 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἀλλὰ οἶνον νέον εἰς ἀσκοὺς καινοὺς βλητέον .
sed vinum novum in utres novos mittendum est , et utraque conservantur .
ወለወይንሰ ሐዲስ ውስተ ዝቅ ሐዲስ ይወድይዎ ወይትዓቀቡ በበይናቲሆሙ ።
But new wine must be put into fresh wineskins, and both are preserved.
5:39 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ οὐδεὶς πιὼν παλαιὸν θέλει νέον · λέγει γάρ · ὁ παλαιὸς χρηστός ἐστιν .
Et nemo bibens vetus , statim vult novum : dicit enim : Vetus melius est .
ወአልቦ ዘይሰቲ ጻዕፈ እንዘ ይፈቅድ ከራሜ እስመ ይኄይስ ከራሚ እምሐዲስ ።
No man having drunk old wine immediately desires new, for he says, ‘The old is better.’”
