20:1 ⧉ ⤴︎ Καὶ ἐγένετο ἐν μιᾷ τῶν ἡμερῶν διδάσκοντος αὐτοῦ τὸν λαὸν ἐν τῷ ἱερῷ καὶ εὐαγγελιζομένου ἐπέστησαν οἱ ἱερεῖς καὶ οἱ γραμματεῖς σὺν τοῖς πρεσβυτέροις ,
Et factum est in una dierum , docente illo populum in templo , et evangelizante , convenerunt principes sacerdotum , et scribae cum senioribus ,
ወእምዝ አሐተ ዕለተ እንዘ ይሜህሮሙ ለሕዝብ በምኵራብ ወይነግሮሙ ቆሙ ላዕሌሁ ሊቃነ ካህናት ወጸሐፍት ወረበናት ።
On one of those days, as he was teaching the people in the temple and preaching the Good News, the priests and scribes came to him with the elders.
20:2 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ εἶπαν λέγοντες πρὸς αὐτόν · εἰπὸν ἡμῖν ἐν ποίᾳ ἐξουσίᾳ ταῦτα ποιεῖς , ἢ τίς ἐστιν ὁ δούς σοι τὴν ἐξουσίαν ταύτην .
et aiunt dicentes ad illum : Dic nobis in qua potestate haec facis ? aut quis est qui dedit tibi hanc potestatem ?
ወይቤልዎ ንግረነ በመባሕተ መኑ ትገብር ዘንተ ወመኑ አብሐከ ትግበር ከመዝ ።
They asked him, “Tell us: by what authority do you do these things? Or who is giving you this authority?”
20:3 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἀποκριθεὶς δὲ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτούς · ἐρωτήσω ὑμᾶς κἀγὼ λόγον , καὶ εἴπατέ μοι ·
Respondens autem Jesus , dixit ad illos : Interrogabo vos et ego unum verbum . Respondete mihi :
ወአውሥአ ወይቤሎሙ እሴአለክሙ አነሂ አሐተ ነገረ ወንግሩኒ ።
He answered them, “I also will ask you one question. Tell me:
20:4 ⧉ ⤴︎ τὸ βάπτισμα τὸ Ἰωάννου ἐξ οὐρανοῦ ἦν ἢ ἐξ ἀνθρώπων ;
baptismus Joannis de caelo erat , an ex hominibus ?
ጥምቀቱ ለዮሐንስ እምአይቴ ይእቲ እምሰማይኑ ወሚመ እምሰብእ ።
the baptism of John, was it from heaven, or from men?”
20:5 ⧉ ⤴︎ οἱ δὲ συνελογίσαντο πρὸς ἑαυτοὺς λέγοντες ὅτι ἐὰν εἴπωμεν · ἐξ οὐρανοῦ , ἐρεῖ · διατί οὐκ ἐπιστεύσατε αὐτῷ ;
At illi cogitabant intra se , dicentes : Quia si dixerimus : De caelo , dicet : Quare ergo non credidistis illi ?
ወተባሀሉ በበይናቲሆሙ እመሂ ንብሎ እምሰማይ ይብለነ እፎ ኢአመንክምዎ ።
They reasoned with themselves, saying, “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ he will say, ‘Why didn’t you believe him?’
20:6 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἐὰν δὲ εἴπωμεν · ἐξ ἀνθρώπων , ὁ λαὸς ἅπας καταλιθάσει ἡμᾶς · πεπεισμένος γάρ ἐστιν Ἰωάννην προφήτην εἶναι .
Si autem dixerimus : Ex hominibus , plebs universa lapidabit nos : certi sunt enim Joannem prophetam esse .
ወእመሂ ንብሎ እምሰብእ ይዌግሩነ ኵሉ ሕዝብ እስመ ኵሎሙ ተአመንዎ ለዮሐንስ ከመ ነቢይ ውእቱ ።
But if we say, ‘From men,’ all the people will stone us, for they are persuaded that John was a prophet.”
20:7 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἀπεκρίθησαν μὴ εἰδέναι πόθεν .
Et responderunt se nescire unde esset .
ወአውሥእዎ ወይቤልዎ ኢነአምር እምኀበ ኮነት ።
They answered that they didn’t know where it was from.
20:8 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ὁ Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν αὐτοῖς · οὐδὲ ἐγὼ λέγω ὑμῖν ἐν ποίᾳ ἐξουσίᾳ ταῦτα ποιῶ .
Et Jesus ait illis : Neque ego dico vobis in qua potestate haec facio .
ወይቤሎሙ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ አነሂ ኢይነግረክሙ በመባሕተ መኑ እገብር ከመዝ ።
Jesus said to them, “Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things.”
20:9 ⧉ ⤴︎ Ἤρξατο δὲ πρὸς τὸν λαὸν λέγειν τὴν παραβολὴν ταύτην . ἄνθρωπός ἐφύτευσεν ἀμπελῶνα καὶ ἐξέδετο αὐτὸν γεωργοῖς , καὶ ἀπεδήμησεν χρόνους ἱκανούς .
Coepit autem dicere ad plebem parabolam hanc : Homo plantavit vineam , et locavit eam colonis : et ipse peregre fuit multis temporibus .
ወአኀዘ ይመስል ሎሙ ለሕዝብ ዘንተ ምሳሌ ወይቤሎሙ ብእሲ ተከለ ወይነ ወሤመ ሎቱ ዐቀብተ ለወይኑ ወአክረየ ምክያደ ወሐነጸ ማኅፈደ ወነገደ ርኁቀ ብሔረ ወጐንደየ አቲወ ።
He began to tell the people this parable: “A man planted a vineyard and rented it out to some farmers, and went into another country for a long time.
20:10 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ καιρῷ ἀπέστειλεν πρὸς τοὺς γεωργοὺς δοῦλον , ἵνα ἀπὸ τοῦ καρποῦ τοῦ ἀμπελῶνος δώσουσιν αὐτῷ · οἱ δὲ γεωργοὶ ἐξαπέστειλαν αὐτὸν δείραντες κενόν .
Et in tempore misit ad cultores servum , ut de fructu vineae darent illi . Qui caesum dimiserunt eum inanem .
ወአመ ኮነ ጊዜ ፍሬሁ ፈነወ ገብሮ ኀበ ዐቀብተ ወይን ከመ ይፈንዉ ሎቱ እምፍሬ ወይኑ ወዘበጥዎ ዐቀብተ ወይን ለገብሩ ወፈነውዎ ዕራቆ ።
At the proper season, he sent a servant to the farmers to collect his share of the fruit of the vineyard. But the farmers beat him and sent him away empty.
20:11 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ προσέθετο ἕτερον πέμψαι δοῦλον · οἱ δὲ κἀκεῖνον δείραντες καὶ ἀτιμάσαντες ἐξαπέστειλαν κενόν .
Et addidit alterum servum mittere . Illi autem hunc quoque caedentes , et afficientes contumelia , dimiserunt inanem .
ወዳግመ ፈነወ ካልአኒ ገብሮ ወኪያሁኒ ዘበጥዎ ወአኅሠርዎ ወፈነውዎ ዕራቆ ።
He sent yet another servant, and they also beat him and treated him shamefully, and sent him away empty.
20:12 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ προσέθετο τρίτον πέμψαι · οἱ δὲ καὶ τοῦτον τραυματίσαντες ἐξέβαλον .
Et addidit tertium mittere : qui et illum vulnerantes ejecerunt .
ወካዕበ ፈነወ ሣልሰኒ ገብሮ ወኪያሁኒ ፈቅእዎ ወሰደድዎ ።
He sent yet a third, and they also wounded him and threw him out.
20:13 ⧉ ⤴︎ εἶπεν δὲ ὁ κύριος τοῦ ἀμπελῶνος · τί ποιήσω ; πέμψω τὸν υἱόν μου τὸν ἀγαπητόν · ἴσως τοῦτον ἐντραπήσονται .
Dixit autem dominus vineae : Quid faciam ? Mittam filium meum dilectum : forsitan , cum hunc viderint , verebuntur .
ወይቤ በዓለ ዓጸደ ወይን ምንተ እንከ እሬሲ እፌኑ ወልድየ ዘአፈቅር ለእመ ኪያሁ ርእዮሙ የኀፍሩ ወፈነዎ ።
The lord of the vineyard said, ‘What shall I do? I will send my beloved son. It may be that seeing him, they will respect him.’
20:14 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἰδόντες δὲ αὐτὸν οἱ γεωργοὶ διελογίζοντο πρὸς ἀλλήλους λέγοντες · οὗτός ἐστιν ὁ κληρονόμος · ἀποκτείνωμεν αὐτόν , ἵνα ἡμῶν γένηται ἡ κληρονομία .
Quem cum vidissent coloni , cogitaverunt intra se , dicentes : Hic est haeres , occidamus illum , ut nostra fiat haereditas .
ወሶበ ርእይዎ ዐቀብተ ወይን ተማከሩ ወይቤሉ ዝንቱ ውእቱ ወራሲሁ ንዑ ንቅትሎ ወንርከብ ርስቶ ።
“But when the farmers saw him, they reasoned among themselves, saying, ‘This is the heir. Come, let’s kill him, that the inheritance may be ours.’
20:15 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἐκβαλόντες αὐτὸν ἔξω τοῦ ἀμπελῶνος ἀπέκτειναν . τί οὖν ποιήσει αὐτοῖς ὁ κύριος τοῦ ἀμπελῶνος ;
Et ejectum illum extra vineam , occiderunt . Quid ergo faciet illis dominus vineae ?
ወአውፅእዎ አፍኣ እምዐጸደ ወይን ወቀተልዎ ።
Then they threw him out of the vineyard and killed him. What therefore will the lord of the vineyard do to them?
20:16 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἐλεύσεται καὶ ἀπολέσει τοὺς γεωργοὺς τούτους , καὶ δώσει τὸν ἀμπελῶνα ἄλλοις . ἀκούσαντες δὲ εἶπαν · μὴ γένοιτο .
veniet , et perdet colonos istos , et dabit vineam aliis . Quo audito , dixerunt illi : Absit .
ወሶበ መጽአ በዓለ ዐጸደ ወይን ምንተ እንከ ይሬስዮሙ ይመጽእ ወይቀትሎሙ ለእልክቱ ዐቀብተ ዐጸደ ወይን ወይሁብ ወይኖ ለካልኣን ወሰሚዖሙ ቃሎ ይቤሉ ሐሰ ኢይከውን ከመዝ ።
He will come and destroy these farmers, and will give the vineyard to others.” When they heard that, they said, “May that never be!”
20:17 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὁ δὲ ἐμβλέψας αὐτοῖς εἶπεν · τί οὖν ἐστιν τὸ γεγραμμένον τοῦτο · λίθον ὃν ἀπεδοκίμασαν οἱ οἰκοδομοῦντες , οὗτος ἐγενήθη εἰς κεφαλὴν γωνίας ;
Ille autem aspiciens eos , ait : Quid est ergo hoc quod scriptum est : Lapidem quem reprobaverunt aedificantes , hic factus est in caput anguli ?
ወነጸሮሙ ወይቤሎሙ ምንትኑመ ጽሑፍ ዘይብል «እብን እንተ መነንዋ ነደቅት ይእቲ ኮነት ውስተ ርእሰ ማዕዘንት ።»
But he looked at them and said, “Then what is this that is written, ‘The stone which the builders rejected was made the chief cornerstone’?
20:18 ⧉ ⤴︎ πᾶς ὁ πεσὼν ἐπ’ ἐκεῖνον τὸν λίθον συνθλασθήσεται · ἐφ’ ὃν δ’ ἂν πέσῃ , λικμήσει αὐτόν .
Omnis qui ceciderit super illum lapidem , conquassabitur : super quem autem ceciderit , comminuet illum .
ወኵሉ ዘወድቀ ዲበ ይእቲ እብን ይትቀጠቀጥ ወለዘኒ ወድቀት ላዕሌሁ ትቀጥቅጦ ።
Everyone who falls on that stone will be broken to pieces, but it will crush whomever it falls on to dust.”
20:19 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἐζήτησαν οἱ γραμματεῖς καὶ οἱ ἀρχιερεῖς ἐπιβαλεῖν ἐπ’ αὐτὸν τὰς χεῖρας ἐν αὐτῇ τῇ ὥρᾳ , καὶ ἐφοβήθησαν τὸν λαόν · ἔγνωσαν γὰρ ὅτι πρὸς αὐτοὺς εἶπεν τὴν παραβολὴν ταύτην .
Et quaerebant principes sacerdotum et scribae mittere in illum manus illa hora , et timuerunt populum : cognoverunt enim quod ad ipsos dixerit similitudinem hanc .
ወፈቀዱ ሊቃነ ካህናት ወጸሐፍት የአኀዝዎ ሶቤሃ ወፈርህዎሙ ለሕዝብ እስመ አእመሩ ከመ በእንቲኣሆሙ መሰለ ከመዝ ።
The chief priests and the scribes sought to lay hands on him that very hour, but they feared the people—for they knew he had spoken this parable against them.
20:20 ⧉ ⤴︎ Καὶ παρατηρήσαντες ἀπέστειλαν ἐνκαθέτους ὑποκρινομένους ἑαυτοὺς δικαίους εἶναι , ἵνα ἐπιλάβωνται αὐτοῦ λόγου , ὥστε παραδοῦναι αὐτὸν τῇ ἀρχῇ καὶ τῇ ἐξουσίᾳ τοῦ ἡγεμόνος .
Et observantes miserunt insidiatores , qui se justos simularent , ut caperent eum in sermone , ut traderent illum principatui , et potestati praesidis .
ወተግኂሦሙ እምኔሁ አጽንሑ ሎቱ እለ ይትዐቀብዎ ወፈነዉ ኀቤሁ ሰብአ ዐይን እለ ያጸድቁ ርእሶሙ ከመ ያስሕትዎ በቃሉ ወከመ ያግብእዎ ለመኳንንት ወለመሳፍንት ።
They watched him and sent out spies, who pretended to be righteous, that they might trap him in something he said, so as to deliver him up to the power and authority of the governor.
20:21 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἐπηρώτησαν αὐτὸν λέγοντες · διδάσκαλε , οἴδαμεν ὅτι ὀρθῶς λέγεις καὶ διδάσκεις καὶ οὐ λαμβάνεις πρόσωπον , ἀλλ’ ἐπ’ ἀληθείας τὴν ὁδὸν τοῦ θεοῦ διδάσκεις ·
Et interrogaverunt eum , dicentes : Magister , scimus quia recte dicis et doces : et non accipis personam , sed viam Dei in veritate doces .
ወተሰእልዎ ወይቤልዎ ሊቅ ነአምር ከመ ጽድቀ ትነግር ወትሜህር ወኢታደሉ ለገጽ ወርቱዐ ትሜህር ፍኖተ እግዚአብሔር ።
They asked him, “Teacher, we know that you say and teach what is right, and aren’t partial to anyone, but truly teach the way of God.
20:22 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἔξεστιν ἡμᾶς Καίσαρι φόρον δοῦναι ἢ οὔ ;
Licet nobis tributum dare Caesari , an non ?
ይከውነነሁ ነሀብ ጸባሕተ ለቄሳር ወሚመ አልቦኑ ።
Is it lawful for us to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?”
20:23 ⧉ ⤴︎ κατανοήσας δὲ αὐτῶν τὴν πανουργίαν εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτούς ·
Considerans autem dolum illorum , dixit ad eos : Quid me tentatis ?
ወአእመሮሙ ትምይንቶሙ ወይቤሎሙ ለምንት ታሜክሩኒ አርእዩኒ ዲናረ ።
But he perceived their craftiness, and said to them, “Why do you test me?
20:24 ⧉ ⤴︎ δείξατέ μοι δηνάριον . τίνος ἔχει εἰκόνα καὶ ἐπιγραφήν ; οἱ δὲ εἶπαν · Καίσαρος .
ostendite mihi denarium . Cujus habet imaginem et inscriptionem ? Respondentes dixerunt ei : Caesaris .
ወአምጽኡ ወአርአይዎ ወይቤሎሙ ዘመኑ መልክዑ ወመጽሐፉ ወአውሥእዎ ወይቤልዎ ዘቄሳር ።
Show me a denarius. Whose image and inscription are on it?” They answered, “Caesar’s.”
20:25 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὁ δὲ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτούς · τοίνυν ἀπόδοτε τὰ Καίσαρος Καίσαρι καὶ τὰ τοῦ θεοῦ τῷ θεῷ .
Et ait illis : Reddite ergo quae sunt Caesaris , Caesari : et quae sunt Dei , Deo .
ወይቤሎሙ ሀቡ ዘቄሳር ለቄሳር ወዘእግዚአብሔር ለእግዚአብሔር ።
He said to them, “Then give to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.”
20:26 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ οὐκ ἴσχυσαν ἐπιλαβέσθαι αὐτοῦ ῥήματος ἐναντίον τοῦ λαοῦ , καὶ θαυμάσαντες ἐπὶ τῇ ἀποκρίσει αὐτοῦ ἐσίγησαν .
Et non potuerunt verbum ejus reprehendere coram plebe : et mirati in responso ejus , tacuerunt .
ወስእንዎ አስሕቶቶ በቃሉ በቅድመ ኵሉ ሕዝብ ወአንከሩ ሣእሣአ አፉሁ ወአውሥኦቶ ወአርመሙ ።
They weren’t able to trap him in his words before the people. They marveled at his answer and were silent.
20:27 ⧉ ⤴︎ Προσελθόντες δέ τινες τῶν Σαδδουκαίων , οἱ ἀντιλέγοντες ἀνάστασιν μὴ εἶναι , ἐπηρώτησαν αὐτὸν
Accesserunt autem quidam sadducaeorum , qui negant esse resurrectionem , et interrogaverunt eum ,
ወመጽኡ ኀቤሁ ሰዱቃውያን እለ ይብሉ ኢየሐይዉ ምዉታን ።
Some of the Sadducees came to him, those who deny that there is a resurrection.
20:28 ⧉ ⤴︎ λέγοντες · διδάσκαλε , Μωϋσῆς ἔγραψεν ἡμῖν , ἐάν τινος ἀδελφὸς ἀποθάνῃ ἔχων γυναῖκα , καὶ οὗτος ἄτεκνος ᾖ , ἵνα λάβῃ ὁ ἀδελφὸς αὐτοῦ τὴν γυναῖκα καὶ ἐξαναστήσῃ σπέρμα τῷ ἀδελφῷ αὐτοῦ .
dicentes : Magister , Moyses scripsit nobis : Si frater alicujus mortuus fuerit habens uxorem , et hic sine liberis fuerit , ut accipiat eam frater ejus uxorem , et suscitet semen fratri suo .
ወተስእልዎ ወይቤልዎ ሊቅ ሙሴ ጸሐፈ ለነ እንዘ ይብል «ለእመቦ ብእሲ ዘሞተ እኁሁ ወኀደገ ብእሲቶ እንዘ አልቦ ውሉድ ያውስባ እኁሁ ለብእሲቱ ወያቅም ዘርዐ ለእኁሁ ።»
They asked him, “Teacher, Moses wrote to us that if a man’s brother dies having a wife, and he is childless, his brother should take the wife and raise up children for his brother.
20:29 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἑπτὰ οὖν ἀδελφοὶ ἦσαν . καὶ ὁ πρῶτος λαβὼν γυναῖκα ἀπέθανεν ἄτεκνος ·
Septem ergo fratres erant : et primus accepit uxorem , et mortuus est sine filiis .
ወሀለዉ እንከ ኅቤነ ሰብዐቱ አኀው ወአውሰበ ዘይልኅቅ ብእሲተ ወሞተ እንዘ አልቦ ውሉድ ።
There were therefore seven brothers. The first took a wife, and died childless.
20:30 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ὁ δεύτερος
Et sequens accepit illam , et ipse mortuus est sine filio .
ወከማሁ አውሰባ ካልኡሂ ወኢወለደ ወከማሁ ሣልሱሂ ወኢኀደጉ ውሉደ ።
The second took her as wife, and he died childless.
20:31 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ὁ τρίτος ἔλαβεν αὐτήν , ὡσαύτως δὲ καὶ οἱ ἑπτὰ οὐ κατέλιπον τέκνα καὶ ἀπέθανον .
Et tertius accepit illam . Similiter et omnes septem , et non reliquerunt semen , et mortui sunt .
ወሰብዓቲሆሙ ከማሁ አውሰብዋ ወሞቱ እንዘ አልቦሙ ውሉድ ።
The third took her, and likewise the seven all left no children, and died.
20:32 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὕστερον καὶ ἡ γυνὴ ἀπέθανεν .
Novissime omnium mortua est et mulier .
ወድኅረ ኵሎሙ ሞተት ይእቲ ብእሲት ።
Afterward the woman also died.
20:33 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἡ γυνὴ οὖν ἐν τῇ ἀναστάσει τίνος αὐτῶν γίνεται γυνή ; οἱ γὰρ ἑπτὰ ἔσχον αὐτὴν γυναῖκα .
In resurrectione ergo , cujus eorum erit uxor ? siquidem septem habuerunt eam uxorem .
ወአመ የሐይዉ እንከ ምዉታን ለመኑ እምኔሆሙ ትከውኖ ብእሲተ እስመ ናሁ ሰብዓቲሆሙ አውሰብዋ ።
Therefore in the resurrection whose wife of them will she be? For the seven had her as a wife.”
20:34 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς ὁ Ἰησοῦς · οἱ υἱοὶ τοῦ αἰῶνος τούτου γαμοῦσιν καὶ γαμίσκονται ,
Et ait illis Jesus : Filii hujus saeculi nubunt , et traduntur ad nuptias :
ወአውሥአ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ወይቤሎሙ ውሉደ ዝንቱ ዓለም ያወስቡ ወይትዋሰቡ ወይወልዱ ወይትዋለዱ ።
Jesus said to them, “The children of this age marry and are given in marriage.
20:35 ⧉ ⤴︎ οἱ δὲ καταξιωθέντες τοῦ αἰῶνος ἐκείνου τυχεῖν καὶ τῆς ἀναστάσεως τῆς ἐκ νεκρῶν οὔτε γαμοῦσιν οὔτε γαμίζονται ·
illi vero qui digni habebuntur saeculo illo , et resurrectione ex mortuis , neque nubent , neque ducent uxores :
ወእለሰ ይደልዎሙ ይርከብዎ ለዝክቱ ዓለም አመ የሐይዉ ሙታን ኢያወስቡ ወኢይትዋሰቡ ።
But those who are considered worthy to attain to that age and the resurrection from the dead neither marry nor are given in marriage.
20:36 ⧉ ⤴︎ οὔτε γὰρ ἀποθανεῖν ἔτι δύνανται , ἰσάγγελοι γάρ εἰσίν , καὶ υἱοί εἰσίν θεοῦ τῆς ἀναστάσεως υἱοὶ ὄντες .
neque enim ultra mori potuerunt : aequales enim angelis sunt , et filii sunt Dei , cum sint filii resurrectionis .
ወኢይትከሀሎሙ እንከ መዊት አላ ከመ መላእክተ እግዚአብሔር እሙንቱ ወውሉደ እግዚአብሔር ይከውኑ ወውሉደ ሕይወት እሙንቱ ።
For they can’t die any more, for they are like the angels and are children of God, being children of the resurrection.
20:37 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὅτι δὲ ἐγείρονται οἱ νεκροί , καὶ Μωϋσῆς ἐμήνυσεν ἐπὶ τῆς βάτου , ὡς λέγει κύριον τὸν θεὸν Ἀβραὰμ καὶ θεὸν Ἰσαὰκ καὶ θεὸν Ἰακώβ ·
Quia vero resurgant mortui , et Moyses ostendit secus rubum , sicut dicit Dominum , Deum Abraham , et Deum Isaac , et Deum Jacob .
ወከመሰ የሐይዉ ሙታን ሙሴሂ ነገረ ዘከመ ይቤሎ እግዚአብሔር በኀበ ዕፀ ጳጦስ አነ ውእቱ አምላከ አብርሃም ወአምላከ ይስሐቅ ወአምላከ ያዕቆብ ።
But that the dead are raised, even Moses showed at the bush, when he called the Lord ‘The God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.’
20:38 ⧉ ⤴︎ θεὸς δὲ οὐκ ἔστιν νεκρῶν ἀλλὰ ζώντων · πάντες γὰρ αὐτῷ ζῶσιν .
Deus autem non est mortuorum , sed vivorum : omnes enim vivunt ei .
ኢኮነኬ አምላከ ሙታን አላ አምላከ ሕያዋን ውእቱ እስመ ኵሎሙ ሕያዋን እሙንቱ በኀቤሁ ።
Now he is not the God of the dead, but of the living, for all are alive to him.”
20:39 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἀποκριθέντες δέ τινες τῶν γραμματέων εἶπαν · διδάσκαλε , καλῶς εἶπας ·
Respondentes autem quidam scribarum , dixerunt ei : Magister , bene dixisti .
ወአውሥኡ ሰብእ እምጸሐፍት ወይቤሉ ሊቅ ሠናየ ትቤ ።
Some of the scribes answered, “Teacher, you speak well.”
20:40 ⧉ ⤴︎ οὐκέτι γὰρ ἐτόλμων ἐπερωτᾶν αὐτὸν οὐδέν .
Et amplius non audebant eum quidquam interrogare .
ወአልቦ እንከ መኑሂ ዘተኀበለ ይሰአሎ ።
They didn’t dare to ask him any more questions.
20:41 ⧉ ⤴︎ Εἶπεν δὲ πρὸς αὐτούς · πῶς λέγουσιν τὸν Χριστὸν εἶναι Δαυεὶδ υἱόν ,
Dixit autem ad illos : Quomodo dicunt Christum filium esse David ?
ወይቤሎሙ እፎኑ ይብልዎ ለክርስቶስ ወልደ ዳዊት ።
He said to them, “Why do they say that the Christ is David’s son?
20:42 ⧉ ⤴︎ αὐτὸς γὰρ Δαυεὶδ λέγει ἐν βίβλῳ ψαλμῶν · εἶπεν ὁ κύριος τῷ κυρίῳ μου · κάθου ἐκ δεξιῶν μου
et ipse David dicit in libro Psalmorum : Dixit Dominus Domino meo : sede a dextris meis ,
ወለሊሁ ዳዊት ይቤ በመጽሐፈ መዝሙር «ይቤሎ እግዚእ ለእግዚእየ ንበር በየማንየ
David himself says in the book of Psalms, ‘The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at my right hand,
20:43 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἕως ἂν θῶ τοὺς ἐχθρούς σου ὑποπόδιον τῶν ποδῶν σου ;
donec ponam inimicos tuos scabellum pedum tuorum .
እስከ አገብኦሙ ለጸላእትከ ታሕተ መከየደ እገሪከ ።»
until I make your enemies the footstool of your feet.”’
20:44 ⧉ ⤴︎ Δαυεὶδ οὖν κύριον αὐτὸν καλεῖ , καὶ πῶς αὐτοῦ υἱός ἐστιν ;
David ergo Dominum illum vocat : et quomodo filius ejus est ?
ዘለሊሁ እንከ ዳዊት እግዚእየ ይቤሎ እፎ እንከ ይከውኖ ወልዶ ።
“David therefore calls him Lord, so how is he his son?”
20:45 ⧉ ⤴︎ Ἀκούοντος δὲ παντὸς τοῦ λαοῦ εἶπεν τοῖς μαθηταῖς ·
Audiente autem omni populo , dixit discipulis suis :
ወእንዘ ኵሎሙ ሕዝብ ይሰምዑ ይቤሎሙ ለአርዳኢሁ ።
In the hearing of all the people, he said to his disciples,
20:46 ⧉ ⤴︎ προσέχετε ἀπὸ τῶν γραμματέων τῶν θελόντων περιπατεῖν ἐν στολαῖς καὶ φιλούντων ἀσπασμοὺς ἐν ταῖς ἀγοραῖς καὶ πρωτοκαθεδρίας ἐν ταῖς συναγωγαῖς καὶ πρωτοκλισίας ἐν τοῖς δείπνοις ,
Attendite a scribis , qui volunt ambulare in stolis , et amant salutationes in foro , et primas cathedras in synagogis , et primos discubitus in conviviis ,
ተዐቀብዎሙ ለጸሐፍት እለ ይፈቅዱ ያንሶስዉ ተላቢሶሙ ወያፈቅሩ ተአምኆ በምሥያጣት ወነቢረ ፍጽም በውስተ አዕዋዳት ወርእሰ ምርፋቃት በውስተ ምሳሓት ።
“Beware of those scribes who like to walk in long robes, and love greetings in the marketplaces, the best seats in the synagogues, and the best places at feasts;
20:47 ⧉ ⤴︎ οἳ κατεσθίουσιν τὰς οἰκίας τῶν χηρῶν καὶ προφάσει μακρὰ προσεύχονται · οὗτοι λήμψονται περισσότερον κρίμα .
qui devorant domos viduarum , simulantes longam orationem : hi accipient damnationem majorem .
እለ ይውኅጥዎን ለአብያተ መበለታት ወለምክንያት ያነውኁ ጸሎተ እሙንቱ ይነሥኡ ዘየዐቢ ኵነኔ ።
who devour widows’ houses, and for a pretense make long prayers. These will receive greater condemnation.”
