19:1
Καὶ εἰσελθὼν διήρχετο τὴν Ἱερειχώ.
Et ingressus perambulabat Jericho.
ወቦአ ኢያሪሆ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ወእንዘ የኀልፍ እምህየ።
He entered and was passing through Jericho.
19:2
καὶ ἰδοὺ ἀνὴρ ὀνόματι καλούμενος Ζακχαῖος, καὶ αὐτὸς ἦν ἀρχιτελώνης καὶ ἦν πλούσιος.
Et ecce vir nomine Zachaeus : et hic princeps erat publicanorum, et ipse dives :
ናሁ ረከበ ብእሴ ዘስሙ ዘኬዎስ መልአኮሙ ለመጸብሓን ወባዕል ውእቱ።
There was a man named Zacchaeus. He was a chief tax collector, and he was rich.
19:3
καὶ ἐζήτει ἰδεῖν τὸν Ἰησοῦν τίς ἐστιν, καὶ οὐκ ἠδύνατο ἀπὸ τοῦ ὄχλου, ὅτι τῇ ἡλικίᾳ μικρὸς ἦν.
et quaerebat videre Jesum, quis esset : et non poterat prae turba, quia statura pusillus erat.
ወየኀሥሥ ይርአዮ ለእግዚእ ኢየሱስ ወያእምር ከመ መኑ ውእቱ ወኢያበውሖ ብዝኀ ሰብእ እስመ ሐፂር ውእቱ በቆሙ።
He was trying to see who Jesus was, and couldn’t because of the crowd, because he was short.
19:4
καὶ προδραμὼν εἰς τὸ ἔμπροσθεν ἀνέβη ἐπὶ συκομορέαν, ἵνα ἴδῃ αὐτόν, ὅτι ἐκείνης ἤμελλεν διέρχεσθαι.
Et praecurrens ascendit in arborem sycomorum ut videret eum : quia inde erat transiturus.
ወሮጸ ቅድሜሁ ወዐርገ ዲበ ሰግላ ከመ ይርአዮ እስመ እንተ ይእቲ ፍኖት ሀለዎ ይኅልፍ።
He ran on ahead and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see him, for he was going to pass that way.
19:5
καὶ ὡς ἦλθεν ἐπὶ τὸν τόπον, ἀναβλέψας ὁ Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτόν· Ζακχαῖε, σπεύσας κατάβηθι· σήμερον γὰρ ἐν τῷ οἴκῳ σου δεῖ με μεῖναι.
Et cum venisset ad locum, suspiciens Jesus vidit illum, et dixit ad eum : Zachaee, festinans descende : quia hodie in domo tua oportet me manere.
ወበጺሖ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ህየ አንሥአ አዕይንቲሁ ወነጸሮ ወይቤሎ ዘኬዎስ አፍጥን ወረድ እስመ ዮም ሀለወኒ አዐል ቤተከ።
When Jesus came to the place, he looked up and saw him, and said to him, “Zacchaeus, hurry and come down, for today I must stay at your house.”
19:6
καὶ σπεύσας κατέβη, καὶ ὑπεδέξατο αὐτὸν χαίρων.
Et festinans descendit, et excepit illum gaudens.
ወአፍጠነ ወሪደ ወአግኀሦ ኀበ ቤቱ እንዘ ይትፌሣሕ።
He hurried, came down, and received him joyfully.
19:7
καὶ ἰδόντες πάντες διεγόγγυζον, λέγοντες ὅτι παρὰ ἁμαρτωλῷ ἀνδρὶ εἰσῆλθεν καταλῦσαι.
Et cum viderent omnes, murmurabant, dicentes quod ad hominem peccatorem divertisset.
ወርእዮሙ ኵሎሙ አንጐርጐሩ ወይቤሉ ኀበ ብእሲ ኃጥእ ቦአ የዐል።
When they saw it, they all murmured, saying, “He has gone in to lodge with a man who is a sinner.”
19:8
σταθεὶς δὲ Ζακχαῖος εἶπεν πρὸς τὸν κύριον· ἰδοὺ τὰ ἡμίσειά μου τῶν ὑπαρχόντων, κύριε, τοῖς πτωχοῖς δίδωμι, καὶ εἴ τινός τι ἐσυκοφάντησα ἀποδίδωμι τετραπλοῦν.
Stans autem Zachaeus, dixit ad Dominum : Ecce dimidium bonorum meorum, Domine, do pauperibus : et si quid aliquem defraudavi, reddo quadruplum.
ወቆመ ዘኬዎስ ወይቤሎ ለእግዚእነ ናሁ መንፈቀ ንዋይየ እሁብ ለነዳያን ወእመሂ ቦ ዘገፋዕክዎ እፈድዮ ህየንተ አሐዱ ትርብዕተ።
Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, “Behold, Lord, half of my goods I give to the poor. If I have wrongfully exacted anything of anyone, I restore four times as much.”
19:9
εἶπεν δὲ πρὸς αὐτὸν ὁ Ἰησοῦς ὅτι σήμερον σωτηρία τῷ οἴκῳ τούτῳ ἐγένετο, καθότι καὶ αὐτὸς υἱὸς Ἀβραάμ·
Ait Jesus ad eum : Quia hodie salus domui huic facta est : eo quod et ipse filius sit Abrahae.
ወይቤሎ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ዮምሰ ሕይወት ኮነ ለሰብአ ዝንቱ ቤት እስመ አንተሂ ወልደ አብርሃም አንተ።
Jesus said to him, “Today, salvation has come to this house, because he also is a son of Abraham.
19:10
ἦλθεν γὰρ ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου ζητῆσαι καὶ σῶσαι τὸ ἀπολωλός.
Venit enim Filius hominis quaerere, et salvum facere quod perierat.
እስመ መጽአ ወልደ ዕጓለ እመሕያው ይኅሥሥ ወያድኅን ዘተኀጕለ።
For the Son of Man came to seek and to save that which was lost.”
19:11
Ἀκουόντων δὲ αὐτῶν ταῦτα προσθεὶς εἶπεν παραβολήν, διὰ τὸ ἐγγὺς εἶναι Ἱερουσαλὴμ αὐτὸν καὶ δοκεῖν αὐτοὺς ὅτι παραχρῆμα μέλλει ἡ βασιλεία τοῦ θεοῦ ἀναφαίνεσθαι.
Haec illis audientibus adjiciens, dixit parabolam, eo quod esset prope Jerusalem : et quia existimarent quod confestim regnum Dei manifestaretur.
ወእንዘ ይሰምዑ ዘንተ መሰለ ሎሙ ወይቤሎሙ እስመ ቅሩብ ውእቱ ለኢየሩሳሌም ወይመስሎሙ ከመ ሶቤሃ ታስተርኢ መንግሥተ እግዚአብሔር።
As they heard these things, he went on and told a parable, because he was near Jerusalem, and they supposed that God’s Kingdom would be revealed immediately.
19:12
εἶπεν οὖν· ἄνθρωπός τις εὐγενὴς ἐπορεύθη εἰς χώραν μακράν, λαβεῖν ἑαυτῷ βασιλείαν καὶ ὑποστρέψαι.
Dixit ergo : Homo quidam nobilis abiit in regionem longinquam accipere sibi regnum, et reverti.
ወይቤ አሐዱ ብእሲ ክቡር ሖረ ብሔረ ርኁቀ ይንሣእ ሎቱ መንግሥተ ወይሰወጥ።
He said therefore, “A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom and to return.
19:13
καλέσας δὲ δέκα δούλους ἑαυτοῦ ἔδωκεν αὐτοῖς δέκα μνᾶς, καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτούς· πραγματεύσασθε ἐν ᾧ ἔρχομαι.
Vocatis autem decem servis suis, dedit eis decem mnas, et ait ad illos : Negotiamini dum venio.
ወጸውዐ አግብርቲሁ ዐሠርተ ወወሀቦሙ ዐሠርተ ምናናተ ወይቤሎሙ ተገበሩ እንከ እስከ አአቱ።
He called ten servants of his and gave them ten mina coins, and told them, ‘Conduct business until I come.’
19:14
οἱ δὲ πολῖται αὐτοῦ ἐμίσουν αὐτόν, καὶ ἀπέστειλαν πρεσβείαν ὀπίσω αὐτοῦ λέγοντες· οὐ θέλομεν τοῦτον βασιλεῦσαι ἐφ’ ἡμᾶς.
Cives autem ejus oderant eum : et miserunt legationem post illum, dicentes : Nolumus hunc regnare super nos.
ወሰብአ ሀገሩሰ ይጸልእዎ ወፈነዉ ተናብልተ ድኅሬሁ እንዘ ይብሉ ኢንፈቅዶ ለዝንቱ ይንግሥ ላዕሌነ።
But his citizens hated him, and sent an envoy after him, saying, ‘We don’t want this man to reign over us.’
19:15
καὶ ἐγένετο ἐν τῷ ἐπανελθεῖν αὐτὸν λαβόντα τὴν βασιλείαν, καὶ εἶπεν φωνηθῆναι αὐτῷ τοὺς δούλους τούτους οἷς δεδώκει τὸ ἀργύριον, ἵνα γνοῖ τίς τί διεπραγματεύσαντο.
Et factum est ut rediret accepto regno : et jussit vocari servos, quibus dedit pecuniam, ut sciret quantum quisque negotiatus esset.
ወእምዝ ሶበ አተወ ነሢኦ መንግሥተ አዘዘ ያምጽእዎሙ ለአግብርቲሁ እለ ወሀቦሙ ወርቆ ከመ ያእምር ዘከመ ተገበሩ።
“When he had come back again, having received the kingdom, he commanded these servants, to whom he had given the money, to be called to him, that he might know what they had gained by conducting business.
19:16
παρεγένετο δὲ ὁ πρῶτος λέγων· κύριε, ἡ μνᾶ σου δέκα προσηργάσατο μνᾶς.
Venit autem primus dicens : Domine, mna tua decem mnas acquisivit.
ወመጽአ ቀዳማዊ ወይቤሎ እግዚኦ ምናንከ ዐሠርቱ ወዐሠርተ ምናናተ ረባኅኩ።
The first came before him, saying, ‘Lord, your mina has made ten more minas.’
19:17
καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ· εὖγε, ἀγαθὲ δοῦλε, ὅτι ἐν ἐλαχίστῳ πιστὸς ἐγένου, ἴσθι ἐξουσίαν ἔχων ἐπάνω δέκα πόλεων.
Et ait illi : Euge bone serve, quia in modico fuisti fidelis, eris potestatem habens super decem civitates.
ወይቤሎ እግዚኡ ኦ ገብር ኄር ወምእመን ዘበውኁድ ምእመነ ኮንከ ዲበ ብዙኅ እሠይመከ ተሠየም ላዕለ ዐሠርቱ አህጉር።
“He said to him, ‘Well done, you good servant! Because you were found faithful with very little, you shall have authority over ten cities.’
19:18
καὶ ἦλθεν ὁ δεύτερος λέγων· ἡ μνᾶ σου, κύριε, ἐποίησεν πέντε μνᾶς.
Et alter venit, dicens : Domine, mna tua fecit quinque mnas.
ወመጽአ ካልኡሂ ወይቤሎ እግዚኦ ምናንከ ኀምስቱ ወኀምስተ ምናናተ ረባኅኩ።
“The second came, saying, ‘Your mina, Lord, has made five minas.’
19:19
εἶπεν δὲ καὶ τούτῳ· καὶ σὺ ἐπάνω γίνου πέντε πόλεων.
Et huic ait : Et tu esto super quinque civitates.
ወይቤሎ ሎቱኒ አንተኒ ተሠየም ላዕለ ኀምስቱ አህጉር።
“So he said to him, ‘And you are to be over five cities.’
19:20
καὶ ὁ ἕτερος ἦλθεν λέγων· κύριε, ἰδοὺ ἡ μνᾶ σου, ἣν εἶχον ἀποκειμένην ἐν σουδαρίῳ·
Et alter venit, dicens : Domine, ecce mna tua, quam habui repositam in sudario :
ወመጽአ ሣልሱኒ ወይቤሎ እግዚኦ ነያ ምናንከ እንተ ኀቤየ ጠብለልክዋ ወአንበርክዋ ውስተ ሰበንየ።
Another came, saying, ‘Lord, behold, your mina, which I kept laid away in a handkerchief,
19:21
ἐφοβούμην γάρ σε, ὅτι ἄνθρωπος αὐστηρὸς εἶ, αἴρεις ὃ οὐκ ἔθηκας, καὶ θερίζεις ὃ οὐκ ἔσπειρας.
timui enim te, quia homo austerus es : tollis quod non posuisti, et metis quod non seminasti.
እስመ ፈራህኩከ እስመ አአምረከ ከመ ዕፁብ ብእሲ አንተ ወትነሥእ ዘኢያንበርከ ወተአርር ዘኢዘራዕከ ወታስተጋብእ ዘኢዘረውከ።
for I feared you, because you are an exacting man. You take up that which you didn’t lay down, and reap that which you didn’t sow.’
19:22
λέγει αὐτῷ· ἐκ τοῦ στόματός σου κρίνω σε, πονηρὲ δοῦλε. ᾔδεις ὅτι ἐγὼ ἄνθρωπος αὐστηρός εἰμι, αἴρων ὃ οὐκ ἔθηκα, καὶ θερίζων ὃ οὐκ ἔσπειρα;
Dicit ei : De ore tuo te judico, serve nequam. Sciebas quod ego homo austerus sum, tollens quod non posui, et metens quod non seminavi :
ወይቤሎ እግዚኡ በከመ ቃልከ እኴንነከ ኦ ገብር እኩይ ወሀካይ ተአምረኒኑ ከመ ብእሲ ዕፁብ አነ አነሥእ ዘኢያንበርኩ ወአአርር ዘኢዘራዕኩ ወአስተጋብእ ዘኢዘረውኩ።
“He said to him, ‘Out of your own mouth I will judge you, you wicked servant! You knew that I am an exacting man, taking up that which I didn’t lay down and reaping that which I didn’t sow.
19:23
καὶ διατί οὐκ ἔδωκάς μου τὸ ἀργύριον ἐπὶ τράπεζαν; κἀγὼ ἐλθὼν σὺν τόκῳ ἂν αὐτὸ ἔπραξα.
et quare non dedisti pecuniam meam ad mensam, ut ego veniens cum usuris utique exegissem illam ?
ወለምንት ኢያግባእከ ወርቅየ ውስተ ማእድየ ወለልየ አነ አቲውየ እምአስተገበርክዎ ምስለ ረባኁ።
Then why didn’t you deposit my money in the bank, and at my coming, I might have earned interest on it?’
19:24
καὶ τοῖς παρεστῶσιν εἶπεν· ἄρατε ἀπ’ αὐτοῦ τὴν μνᾶν καὶ δότε τῷ τὰς δέκα μνᾶς ἔχοντι.
Et astantibus dixit : Auferte ab illo mnam, et date illi qui decem mnas habet.
ወይቤሎሙ ለእለ ይቀውሙ ህየ ንሥኡ እምላዕሌሁ ዘንተ ምናነ ወሀብዎ ለዘቦቱ ዐሠርቱ ምናናት።
He said to those who stood by, ‘Take the mina away from him and give it to him who has the ten minas.’
19:25
καὶ εἶπαν αὐτῷ· κύριε, ἔχει δέκα μνᾶς.
Et dixerunt ei : Domine, habet decem mnas.
ወይቤልዎ እግዚኦ አኮኑ ቦቱ ዐሠርቱ ምናናት።
“They said to him, ‘Lord, he has ten minas!’
19:26
λέγω ὑμῖν ὅτι παντὶ τῷ ἔχοντι δοθήσεται, ἀπὸ δὲ τοῦ μὴ ἔχοντος καὶ ὃ ἔχει ἀρθήσεται.
Dico autem vobis, quia omni habenti dabitur, et abundabit : ab eo autem qui non habet, et quod habet auferetur ab eo.
ወይቤሎሙ እብለክሙ ለኵሉ ዘቦ ይሁብዎ ወይዌስክዎ ወለዘሰ አልቦ እለሂ ቦ የሀድይዎ።
‘For I tell you that to everyone who has, will more be given; but from him who doesn’t have, even that which he has will be taken away from him.
19:27
πλὴν τοὺς ἐχθρούς μου τούτους τοὺς μὴ θελήσαντάς με βασιλεῦσαι ἐπ’ αὐτοὺς ἀγάγετε ὧδε καὶ κατασφάξατε αὐτοὺς ἔμπροσθέν μου.
Verumtamen inimicos meos illos, qui noluerunt me regnare super se, adducite huc : et interficite ante me.
ወባሕቱ ለእልክቱሰ ጸላእትየ እለ ኢይፈቅዱ እንግሥ ላዕሌሆሙ አምጽእዎሙ ዝየ ወርግዝዎሙ በቅድሜየ።
But bring those enemies of mine who didn’t want me to reign over them here, and kill them before me.’”
19:28
Καὶ εἰπὼν ταῦτα ἐπορεύετο ἔμπροσθεν ἀναβαίνων, εἰς Ἱεροσόλυμα.
Et his dictis, praecedebat ascendens Jerosolymam.
ወዘንተ ብሂሎ አመልአ ቅድመ ወዐርገ ኢየሩሳሌም።
Having said these things, he went on ahead, going up to Jerusalem.
19:29
καὶ ἐγένετο ὡς ἤγγισεν εἰς Βηθφαγὴ καὶ Βηθανίαν πρὸς τὸ ὄρος τὸ καλούμενον ἐλαιῶν, ἀπέστειλεν δύο τῶν μαθητῶν
Et factum est, cum appropinquasset ad Bethphage et Bethaniam, ad montem qui vocatur Oliveti, misit duos discipulos suos,
ወሶበ በጽሐ ቤተ ፋጌ ወቢታንያ ኀበ ደብር ዘስሙ ኤሌዎን ፈነወ ክልኤተ እምአርዳኢሁ።
When he came near to Bethsphage and Bethany, at the mountain that is called Olivet, he sent two of his disciples,
19:30
εἰπών· ὑπάγετε εἰς τὴν κατέναντι κώμην, ἐν ᾗ εἰσπορευόμενοι εὑρήσετε πῶλον δεδεμένον, ἐφ’ ὃν οὐδεὶς πώποτε ἀνθρώπων ἐκάθισεν, καὶ λύσαντες αὐτὸν ἀγάγετε.
dicens : Ite in castellum quod contra est : in quod introëuntes, invenietis pullum asinae alligatum, cui nemo umquam hominum sedit : solvite illum, et adducite.
ወይቤሎሙ ሑሩ ሀገረ ዘቅድሜክሙ ወበዊአክሙ ትረክቡ ዕዋለ እሱረ ዘኢተጽዕኖ ሰብእ ፍትሕዎ ወአምጽእዎ ሊተ።
saying, “Go your way into the village on the other side, in which, as you enter, you will find a colt tied, which no man has ever sat upon. Untie it and bring it.
19:31
καὶ ἐάν τις ὑμᾶς ἐρωτᾷ· διατί λύετε; οὕτως ἐρεῖτε· ὅτι ὁ κύριος αὐτοῦ χρείαν ἔχει.
Et si quis vos interrogaverit : Quare solvitis ? sic dicetis ei : Quia Dominus operam ejus desiderat.
ወእመቦ ዘይቤለክሙ ለምንት ትፈትሑ በሉ እግዚኡ ይፈቅዶ።
If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you untying it?’ say to him: ‘The Lord needs it.’”
19:32
ἀπελθόντες δὲ οἱ ἀπεσταλμένοι εὗρον καθὼς εἶπεν αὐτοῖς.
Abierunt autem qui missi erant : et invenerunt, sicut dixit illis, stantem pullum.
ወሐዊሮሙ እለ ተፈነዉ ረከቡ በከመ ይቤሎሙ።
Those who were sent went away and found things just as he had told them.
19:33
λυόντων δὲ αὐτῶν τὸν πῶλον εἶπαν οἱ κύριοι αὐτοῦ πρὸς αὐτούς· τί λύετε τὸν πῶλον;
Solventibus autem illis pullum, dixerunt domini ejus ad illos : Quid solvitis pullum ?
ወፈትሑ ዕዋለ ወእንዘ ይፈትሑ ዕዋለ ይቤልዎሙ አጋእዝቲሁ ለምንት ትፈትሕዎ ለዕዋል።
As they were untying the colt, its owners said to them, “Why are you untying the colt?”
19:34
οἱ δὲ εἶπαν· ὅτι ὁ κύριος αὐτοῦ χρείαν ἔχει.
At illi dixerunt : Quia Dominus eum necessarium habet.
ወይቤሉ እግዚኡ ይፈቅዶ።
They said, “The Lord needs it.”
19:35
καὶ ἤγαγον αὐτὸν πρὸς τὸν Ἰησοῦν, καὶ ἐπιρίψαντες αὐτῶν τὰ ἱμάτια ἐπὶ τὸν πῶλον ἐπεβίβασαν τὸν Ἰησοῦν.
Et duxerunt illum ad Jesum. Et jactantes vestimenta sua supra pullum, imposuerunt Jesum.
ወነሥእዎ ወወሰድዎ ኀበ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ወረሐኑ አልባሲሆሙ ዲበ ዕዋል ወአጽዐንዎ ለእግዚእ ኢየሱስ ዲቤሁ።
Then they brought it to Jesus. They threw their cloaks on the colt and sat Jesus on them.
19:36
πορευομένου δὲ αὐτοῦ ὑπεστρώννυον τὰ ἱμάτια αὐτῶν ἐν τῇ ὁδῷ.
Eunte autem illo, substernebant vestimenta sua in via :
ወእንዘ የሐውሩ ነጸፉ አልባሲሆሙ ውስተ ፍኖት።
As he went, they spread their cloaks on the road.
19:37
ἐγγίζοντος δὲ αὐτοῦ ἤδη πρὸς τῇ καταβάσει τοῦ ὄρους τῶν ἐλαιῶν ἤρξαντο ἅπαν τὸ πλῆθος τῶν μαθητῶν χαίροντες αἰνεῖν τὸν θεὸν φωνῇ μεγάλῃ περὶ πασῶν ὧν εἶδον δυνάμεων,
et cum appropinquaret jam ad descensum montis Oliveti, coeperunt omnes turbae discipulorum gaudentes laudare Deum voce magna super omnibus, quas viderant, virtutibus,
ወበጺሖሙ ኀበ ሙራደ ዐቀብ ዘደብረ ዘይት አኀዙ ኵሎሙ አርዳኢሁ ይትፈሥሑ ወይሰብሕዎ ለእግዚአብሔር በዐቢይ ቃል በእንተ ኵሉ ኀይል ዘርእዩ።
As he was now getting near, at the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works which they had seen,
19:38
λέγοντες· εὐλογημένος ὁ βασιλεὺς ἐν ὀνόματι κυρίου· ἐν οὐρανῷ εἰρήνη, καὶ δόξα ἐν ὑψίστοις.
dicentes : Benedictus, qui venit rex in nomine Domini : pax in caelo, et gloria in excelsis.
እንዘ ይብሉ ቡሩክ ዘይመጽእ በስመ እግዚአብሔር ወቡሩክ ንጉሠ እስራኤል ሰላም በምድር ወስብሐት በአርያም።
saying, “Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven, and glory in the highest!”
19:39
Καί τινες τῶν Φαρισαίων ἀπὸ τοῦ ὄχλου εἶπαν πρὸς αὐτόν· διδάσκαλε, ἐπιτίμησον τοῖς μαθηταῖς σου.
Et quidam pharisaeorum de turbis dixerunt ad illum : Magister, increpa discipulos tuos.
ወቦ እምፈሪሳውያን እለ ይቤልዎ በማእከለ ሕዝብ ሊቅ ገሥጾሙ ለአርዳኢከ።
Some of the Pharisees from the multitude said to him, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples!”
19:40
καὶ ἀποκριθεὶς εἶπεν· λέγω ὑμῖν, ὅτι ἐὰν οὗτοι σιωπήσουσιν, οἱ λίθοι κράξουσιν.
Quibus ipse ait : Dico vobis, quia si hi tacuerint, lapides clamabunt.
ወአውሥኦሙ ወይቤሎሙ እብለክሙ ለእመ አርመሙ እሉ እሎንቱ አእባን ይኬልሑ።
He answered them, “I tell you that if these were silent, the stones would cry out.”
19:41
Καὶ ὡς ἤγγισεν, ἰδὼν τὴν πόλιν ἔκλαυσεν ἐπ’ αὐτήν, λέγων
Et ut appropinquavit, videns civitatem flevit super illam, dicens :
ወበጺሖ ርእያ ለሀገር ወበከየ ላዕሌሃ።
When he came near, he saw the city and wept over it,
19:42
ὅτι εἰ ἔγνως καὶ σὺ καίγε ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ σου ταύτῃ τὰ πρὸς εἰρήνην σου· νῦν δὲ ἐκρύβη ἀπὸ ὀφθαλμῶν σου.
Quia si cognovisses et tu, et quidem in hac die tua, quae ad pacem tibi : nunc autem abscondita sunt ab oculis tuis.
ወይቤላ ሶበሰ ተአምሪ ዮም ሰላምኪ ወባሕቱ እምይእዜሰ ተሰወረ እምአዕይንትኪ።
saying, “If you, even you, had known today the things which belong to your peace! But now, they are hidden from your eyes.
19:43
ὅτι ἥξουσιν ἡμέραι ἐπὶ σέ, καὶ παρεμβαλοῦσιν οἱ ἐχθροί σου χάρακά σοι καὶ περικυκλώσουσίν σε καὶ συνέξουσίν σε πάντοθεν,
Quia venient dies in te : et circumdabunt te inimici tui vallo, et circumdabunt te : et coangustabunt te undique :
ወይበጽሐኪ መዋዕል አመ የዐግቱኪ ፀርኪ ወይትአየኑኪ ወየሐጽሩኪ ወያስተጋብኡኪ እምኵለሄ።
For the days will come on you when your enemies will throw up a barricade against you, surround you, hem you in on every side,
19:44
καὶ ἐδαφιοῦσίν σε καὶ τὰ τέκνα σου ἐν σοί, καὶ οὐκ ἀφήσουσιν λίθον ἐπὶ λίθον ἐν σοί, ἀνθ’ ὧν οὐκ ἔγνως τὸν καιρὸν τῆς ἐπισκοπῆς σου.
et ad terram prosternent te, et filios tuos, qui in te sunt, et non relinquent in te lapidem super lapidem : eo quod non cognoveris tempus visitationis tuae.
ወይነፅኁኪ ለኪ ወለውሉድኪኒ ምስሌኪ ወኢየኀድጉ እብነ ዲበ እብን በውስቴትኪ እስመ ኢያእመርኪ መዋዕለ ሣህልኪ።
and will dash you and your children within you to the ground. They will not leave in you one stone on another, because you didn’t know the time of your visitation.”
19:45
Καὶ εἰσελθὼν εἰς τὸ ἱερὸν ἤρξατο ἐκβάλλειν τοὺς πωλοῦντας,
Et ingressus in templum, coepit ejicere vendentes in illo, et ementes,
ወቦአ ምኵራበ ወሰደደ ኵሎሙ እለ ይሠይጡ ወይሣየጡ በቤተ መቅደስ ወገፍትዐ ማእዳቲሆሙ ለመወልጣን ወመናብርቲሆሙ ለእለ ይሠይጡ ርግበ።
He entered into the temple and began to drive out those who bought and sold in it,
19:46
λέγων αὐτοῖς· γέγραπται· καὶ ἔσται ὁ οἶκός μου οἶκος προσευχῆς· ὑμεῖς δὲ αὐτὸν ἐποιήσατε σπήλαιον λῃστῶν.
dicens illis : Scriptum est : Quia domus mea domus orationis est : vos autem fecistis illam speluncam latronum.
ወይቤሎሙ ጽሑፍ ዘይብል «ቤትየሰ ቤተ ጸሎት ይሰመይ» ወአንትሙሰ ረሰይክምዎ በኣተ ፈያት ወሰረቅት።
saying to them, “It is written, ‘My house is a house of prayer,’ but you have made it a ‘den of robbers’!”
19:47
Καὶ ἦν διδάσκων τὸ καθ’ ἡμέραν ἐν τῷ ἱερῷ· οἱ δὲ ἀρχιερεῖς καὶ οἱ γραμματεῖς ἐζήτουν αὐτὸν ἀπολέσαι καὶ οἱ πρῶτοι τοῦ λαοῦ,
Et erat docens quotidie in templo. Principes autem sacerdotum, et scribae, et princeps plebis quaerebant illum perdere :
ወኵሎ አሚረ ይሜህሮሙ በምኵራብ ወየኀሥሡ ሊቃነ ካህናት ወጸሐፍት ወሊቃናተ ሕዝብ በዘይቀትልዎ።
He was teaching daily in the temple, but the chief priests, the scribes, and the leading men among the people sought to destroy him.
19:48
καὶ οὐχ εὕρισκον τὸ τί ποιήσωσιν· ὁ λαὸς γὰρ ἅπας ἐξεκρέμετο αὐτοῦ ἀκούων.
et non inveniebant quid facerent illi. Omnis enim populus suspensus erat, audiens illum.
ወኀጥኡ ዘይሬስይዎ እስመ ኵሎሙ ሕዝብ ይሰቀሉ በአፅምዖቱ።
They couldn’t find what they might do, for all the people hung on to every word that he said.
