17:1 ⧉ ⤴︎ Εἶπεν δὲ πρὸς τοὺς μαθητὰς αὐτοῦ · ἀνένδεκτόν ἐστιν τοῦ τὰ σκάνδαλα μὴ ἐλθεῖν , οὐαὶ δὲ δι’ οὗ ἔρχεται ·
Et ait ad discipulos suos : Impossibile est ut non veniant scandala : vae autem illi per quem veniunt .
ወይቤሎሙ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ለአርዳኢሁ ግብር ይመጽእ መንሱት ወባሕቱ አሌ ሎቱ ለዘያመጽኣ ለመንሱት ።
He said to the disciples, “It is impossible that no occasions of stumbling should come, but woe to him through whom they come!
17:2 ⧉ ⤴︎ λυσιτελεῖ αὐτῷ εἰ λίθος μυλικὸς περίκειται περὶ τὸν τράχηλον αὐτοῦ καὶ ἔρριπται εἰς τὴν θάλασσαν , ἢ ἵνα σκανδαλίσῃ τῶν μικρῶν τούτων ἕνα .
Utilius est illi si lapis molaris imponatur circa collum ejus , et projiciatur in mare quam ut scandalizet unum de pusillis istis .
እምኀየሶ ይእስሩ በክሣዱ ማኅረጸ አድግ ወያሥጥምዎ ውስተ ቀላየ ባሕር እምያስሕቶ ለአሐዱ እምእሉ ንኡሳን ።
It would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were thrown into the sea, rather than that he should cause one of these little ones to stumble.
17:3 ⧉ ⤴︎ προσέχετε ἑαυτοῖς . ἐὰν ἁμάρτῃ ὁ ἀδελφός σου , ἐπιτίμησον αὐτῷ , καὶ ἐὰν μετανοήσῃ , ἄφες αὐτῷ ·
Attendite vobis : Si peccaverit in te frater tuus , increpa illum : et si poenitentiam egerit , dimitte illi .
ዑቁ ርእሰክሙ ለእመ አበሰ ለከ እኁከ ገሥጾ በባሕቲትከ ወለእመሰ ነስሐ ኅድግ ሎቱ ።
Be careful. If your brother sins against you, rebuke him. If he repents, forgive him.
17:4 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἐὰν ἑπτάκις τῆς ἡμέρας ἁμαρτήσῃ εἰς σὲ καὶ ἑπτάκις ἐπιστρέψῃ πρὸς σὲ λέγων · μετανοῶ , ἀφήσεις αὐτῷ .
Et si septies in die peccaverit in te , et septies in die conversus fuerit ad te , dicens : Poenitet me , dimitte illi .
ወእመኒ ስብዐ ለለዕለቱ አበሰ ወስብዐ ለለዕለቱ ተጋነየ ኅድግ ሎቱ ።
If he sins against you seven times in the day, and seven times returns, saying, ‘I repent,’ you shall forgive him.”
17:5 ⧉ ⤴︎ Καὶ εἶπαν οἱ ἀπόστολοι τῷ κυρίῳ · πρόσθες ἡμῖν πίστιν .
Et dixerunt apostoli Domino : Adauge nobis fidem .
ወይቤልዎ ሐዋርያት ለእግዚእነ ወስከነ ሃይማኖተ ።
The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith.”
17:6 ⧉ ⤴︎ εἶπεν δὲ ὁ κύριος · εἰ ἔχετε πίστιν ὡς κόκκον σινάπεως , ἐλέγετε ἂν τῇ συκαμίνῳ ταύτῃ · ἐκριζώθητι καὶ φυτεύθητι ἐν τῇ θαλάσσῃ , καὶ ὑπήκουσεν ἂν ὑμῖν .
Dixit autem Dominus : Si habueritis fidem sicut granum sinapis , dicetis huic arbori moro : Eradicare , et transplantare in mare , et obediet vobis .
ወይቤሎሙ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ እመ ብክሙ ሃይማኖት መጠነ ኅጠተ ሰናፔ ወትብልዋ ለዛቲ ሰግላ ተመልሒ እምሥርውኪ ወተተከሊ ውስተ ባሕር ትትኤዘዝ ለክሙ ።
The Lord said, “If you had faith like a grain of mustard seed, you would tell this sycamore tree, ‘Be uprooted and be planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you.
17:7 ⧉ ⤴︎ Τίς δὲ ἐξ ὑμῶν δοῦλον ἔχων ἀροτριῶντα ἢ ποιμαίνοντα , ὃς εἰσελθόντι ἐκ τοῦ ἀγροῦ ἐρεῖ αὐτῷ · εὐθέως παρελθὼν ἀνάπεσε ;
Quis autem vestrum habens servum arantem aut pascentem , qui regresso de agro dicat illi : Statim transi , recumbe :
መኑ እምኔክሙ ዘቦ ገብር ሐረሳዊ ወእመኒ ኖላዊ አቲዎ እምወፍሩ ይብሎኑ እግዚኡ ዕርግ ፍጡነ ወነዓ ርፍቅ ምስሌየ ።
But who is there among you, having a servant plowing or keeping sheep, that will say when he comes in from the field, ‘Come immediately and sit down at the table’?
17:8 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἀλλ’ οὐχὶ ἐρεῖ αὐτῷ · ἑτοίμασον τί δειπνήσω , καὶ περιζωσάμενος διακόνει μοι ἕως φάγω καὶ πίω , καὶ μετὰ ταῦτα φάγεσαι καὶ πίεσαι σύ ;
et non dicat ei : Para quod coenem , et praecinge te , et ministra mihi donec manducem , et bibam , et post haec tu manducabis , et bibes ?
አኮኑ ይብሎ አስተዳሉ ሊተ ዘእዴረር ወቅንት ወመጥወኒ እስከ እበልዕ ወእሰቲ ወእምዝ ብላዕ ወስተይ አንተሂ ።
Wouldn’t he rather tell him, ‘Prepare my supper, clothe yourself properly, and serve me while I eat and drink. Afterward you shall eat and drink’?
17:9 ⧉ ⤴︎ μὴ ἔχει χάριν τῷ δούλῳ ὅτι ἐποίησεν τὰ διαταχθέντα ;
Numquid gratiam habet servo illi , quia fecit quae ei imperaverat ?
ቦኑ እንጋ ምዝጋና ለውእቱ ገብር ለእመ ገብረ ግብሮ ዘአዘዞ እግዚኡ ።
Does he thank that servant because he did the things that were commanded? I think not.
17:10 ⧉ ⤴︎ οὕτως καὶ ὑμεῖς , ὅταν ποιήσητε πάντα τὰ διαταχθέντα ὑμῖν , λέγετε ὅτι δοῦλοι ἀχρεῖοί ἐσμεν , ὃ ὠφείλομεν ποιῆσαι πεποιήκαμεν .
non puto . Sic et vos cum feceritis omnia quae praecepta sunt vobis , dicite : Servi inutiles sumus : quod debuimus facere , fecimus .
ከማሁኬ አንትሙኒ ገቢረክሙ ኵሎ ዘአዘዝኩክሙ በሉ አግብርት ፅሩዓን ንሕነ ወዘይደልወነ ለገቢር ገበርነ ።
Even so you also, when you have done all the things that are commanded you, say, ‘We are unworthy servants. We have done our duty.’”
17:11 ⧉ ⤴︎ Καὶ ἐγένετο ἐν τῷ πορεύεσθαι εἰς Ἱερουσαλὴμ καὶ αὐτὸς διήρχετο διὰ μέσον Σαμαρίας καὶ Γαλιλαίας .
Et factum est , dum iret in Jerusalem , transibat per mediam Samariam et Galilaeam .
ወእምዝ እንዘ የሐውር ኢየሩሳሌም ኀለፈ ማእከለ ሰማርያ ወገሊላ ።
As he was on his way to Jerusalem, he was passing along the borders of Samaria and Galilee.
17:12 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ εἰσερχομένου αὐτοῦ εἴς τινα κώμην ὑπήντησαν αὐτῷ δέκα λεπροὶ ἄνδρες , οἳ ἔστησαν πόρρωθεν ,
Et cum ingrederetur quoddam castellum , occurrerunt ei decem viri leprosi , qui steterunt a longe :
ወእንዘ ይበውእ አሐተ ሀገረ ተቀበልዎ ዐሠርቱ ዕደው እለ ለምጽ ወቆሙ እምርኁቅ ።
As he entered into a certain village, ten men who were lepers met him, who stood at a distance.
17:13 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ αὐτοὶ ἦραν φωνὴν λέγοντες · Ἰησοῦ ἐπιστάτα , ἐλέησον ἡμᾶς .
et levaverunt vocem , dicentes : Jesu praeceptor , miserere nostri .
ወዐውየዉ ወይቤሉ ኢየሱስ ሊቅ ተሣሀለነ ።
They lifted up their voices, saying, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!”
17:14 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἰδὼν εἶπεν αὐτοῖς · πορευθέντες ἐπιδείξατε ἑαυτοὺς τοῖς ἱερεῦσιν . καὶ ἐγένετο ἐν τῷ ὑπάγειν αὐτοὺς ἐκαθαρίσθησαν .
Quos ut vidit , dixit : Ite , ostendite vos sacerdotibus . Et factum est , dum irent , mundati sunt .
ወርእዮሙ ወይቤሎሙ ሑሩ ኀበ ካህን ወአፍትኑ ርእሰክሙ ወእንዘ የሐውሩ ነጽሑ ።
When he saw them, he said to them, “Go and show yourselves to the priests.” As they went, they were cleansed.
17:15 ⧉ ⤴︎ εἷς δὲ ἐξ αὐτῶν , ἰδὼν ὅτι ἰάθη , ὑπέστρεψεν μετὰ φωνῆς μεγάλης δοξάζων τὸν θεόν ,
Unus autem ex illis , ut vidit quia mundatus est , regressus est , cum magna voce magnificans Deum ,
ወርእዮ አሐዱ እምኔሆሙ ከመ ነጽሐ ተመይጠ እንዘ የአኵቶ ለእግዚአብሔር በዐቢይ ቃል ።
One of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, glorifying God with a loud voice.
17:16 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἔπεσεν ἐπὶ πρόσωπον παρὰ τοὺς πόδας αὐτοῦ εὐχαριστῶν αὐτῷ · καὶ αὐτὸς ἦν Σαμαρίτης .
et cecidit in faciem ante pedes ejus , gratias agens : et hic erat Samaritanus .
ወሰገደ ታሕተ እገሪሁ ለእግዚእ ኢየሱስ በገጹ ወአእኰቶ ወሳምራዊ ውእቱ ብእሲሁ ።
He fell on his face at Jesus’ feet, giving him thanks; and he was a Samaritan.
17:17 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἀποκριθεὶς δὲ ὁ Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν · οὐχὶ οἱ δέκα ἐκαθαρίσθησαν ; οἱ ἐννέα ποῦ ;
Respondens autem Jesus , dixit : Nonne decem mundati sunt ? et novem ubi sunt ?
ወአውሥአ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ወይቤሎ አኮኑ ዐሠርቱ እሙንቱ አንትሙ እለ ነጻሕክሙ አይቴኑ እንከ ተስዐቱ ።
Jesus answered, “Weren’t the ten cleansed? But where are the nine?
17:18 ⧉ ⤴︎ οὐχ εὑρέθησαν ὑποστρέψαντες δοῦναι δόξαν τῷ θεῷ εἰ μὴ ὁ ἀλλογενὴς οὗτος ;
Non est inventus qui rediret , et daret gloriam Deo , nisi hic alienigena .
ሎሙሰ ተስእኖሙኑ ተመይጦ ወአእኵቶቶ ለእግዚአብሔር ዘእንበለ ዝንቱ ዘካልእ ሕዝቡ ።
Were there none found who returned to give glory to God, except this foreigner?”
17:19 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ · ἀναστὰς πορεύου · ἡ πίστις σου σέσωκέν σε .
Et ait illi : Surge , vade : quia fides tua te salvum fecit .
ወይቤሎ ተንሥእ ወሑር ሃይማኖትከ አሕየወተከ ።
Then he said to him, “Get up, and go your way. Your faith has healed you.”
17:20 ⧉ ⤴︎ Ἐπερωτηθεὶς δὲ ὑπὸ τῶν Φαρισαίων πότε ἔρχεται ἡ βασιλεία τοῦ θεοῦ , ἀπεκρίθη αὐτοῖς καὶ εἶπεν · οὐκ ἔρχεται ἡ βασιλεία τοῦ θεοῦ μετὰ παρατηρήσεως ,
Interrogatus autem a pharisaeis : Quando venit regnum Dei ? respondens eis , dixit : Non venit regnum Dei cum observatione :
ወተስእልዎ ፈሪሳውያን ወይቤልዎ ማእዜ ትመጽእ መንግሥተ እግዚአብሔር ወአውሥአ ወይቤሎሙ ኢትመጽእ መንግሥተ እግዚአብሔር በተዐቅቦ ።
Being asked by the Pharisees when God’s Kingdom would come, he answered them, “God’s Kingdom doesn’t come with observation;
17:21 ⧉ ⤴︎ οὐδὲ ἐροῦσιν · ἰδοὺ ὧδε ἤ , ἐκεῖ · ἰδοὺ γὰρ ἡ βασιλεία τοῦ θεοῦ ἐντὸς ὑμῶν ἐστιν .
neque dicent : Ecce hic , aut ecce illic . Ecce enim regnum Dei intra vos est .
ወኢይብልዋ ነያ ዝየ ወነያ ከሃክ መንግሥተ እግዚአብሔርሰ ነያ ማእከሌክሙ ይእቲ ።
neither will they say, ‘Look, here!’ or, ‘Look, there!’ for behold, God’s Kingdom is within you.”
17:22 ⧉ ⤴︎ Εἶπεν δὲ πρὸς τοὺς μαθητάς · ἐλεύσονται · ἡμέραι ὅτε ἐπιθυμήσετε μίαν τῶν ἡμερῶν τοῦ υἱοῦ τοῦ ἀνθρώπου ἰδεῖν , καὶ οὐκ ὄψεσθε .
Et ait ad discipulos suos : Venient dies quando desideretis videre unum diem Filii hominis , et non videbitis .
ወይቤሎሙ ለአርዳኢሁ ይመጽእ መዋዕል አመ ትፈትዉ ትርአዩ አሐተ እምነ መዋዕሊሁ ለወልደ ዕጓለ እመሕያው ወኢትሬእዩ ።
He said to the disciples, “The days will come when you will desire to see one of the days of the Son of Man, and you will not see it.
17:23 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἐροῦσιν ὑμῖν · ἰδοὺ ἐκεῖ , ἰδοὺ ὧδε · μὴ ἀπέλθητε μηδὲ διώξητε .
Et dicent vobis : Ecce hic , et ecce illic . Nolite ire , neque sectemini :
ወለእመ ይብሉክሙ ነዋ ዝየ ወነዋ ከሃክ ኢትፃኡ ወኢትዴግኑ ።
They will tell you, ‘Look, here!’ or ‘Look, there!’ Don’t go away or follow after them,
17:24 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὥσπερ γὰρ ἡ ἀστραπὴ ἀστράπτουσα ἐκ τῆς ὑπὸ τὸν οὐρανὸν εἰς τὴν ὑπ’ οὐρανὸν λάμπει , οὕτως ἔσται ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ αὐτοῦ .
nam , sicut fulgur coruscans de sub caelo in ea quae sub caelo sunt , fulget : ita erit Filius hominis in die sua .
እስመ ከመ መብረቅ ዘይበርቅ ወያበርህ እምአጽናፈ ሰማይ እስከ አጽናፈ ሰማይ ከማሁ ውእቱ ምጽአቱ ለወልደ ዕጓለ እመሕያው ።
for as the lightning, when it flashes out of one part under the sky, shines to another part under the sky, so will the Son of Man be in his day.
17:25 ⧉ ⤴︎ πρῶτον δὲ δεῖ αὐτὸν πολλὰ παθεῖν καὶ ἀποδοκιμασθῆναι ἀπὸ τῆς γενεᾶς ταύτης .
Primum autem oportet illum multa pati , et reprobari a generatione hac .
ወባሕቱ እምቅድመ ዝንቱ ኵሉ ብዙኀ የሐምም ወታሜክሮ ዛቲ ትውልድ ።
But first, he must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation.
17:26 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ καθὼς ἐγένετο ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις Νῶε , οὕτως ἔσται καὶ ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις τοῦ υἱοῦ τοῦ ἀνθρώπου ·
Et sicut factum est in diebus Noë , ita erit et in diebus Filii hominis :
ወበከመ ኮነ በመዋዕሊሁ ለኖኅ ከማሁ ይከውን በምጽአቱ ለወልደ ዕጓለ እመሕያው ።
As it was in the days of Noah, even so it will also be in the days of the Son of Man.
17:27 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἤσθιον , ἔπινον , ἐγάμουν , ἐγαμίζοντο , ἄχρι ἧς ἡμέρας εἰσῆλθεν Νῶε εἰς τὴν κιβωτόν , καὶ ἦλθεν ὁ κατακλυσμὸς καὶ ἀπώλεσεν ἅπαντας .
edebant et bibebant : uxores ducebant et dabantur ad nuptias , usque in diem , qua intravit Noë in arcam : et venit diluvium , et perdidit omnes .
እንዘ ይበልዑ ወይሰትዩ ወያወስቡ ወይትዋሰቡ እስከ አመ ቦአ ኖኅ ውስተ ንፍቀ ታቦት ወመጽአ ማየ አይኅ ወአጥፍአ ኵሎ ኅቡረ ።
They ate, they drank, they married, and they were given in marriage until the day that Noah entered into the ship, and the flood came and destroyed them all.
17:28 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὁμοίως καθὼς ἐγένετο ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις Λώτ · ἤσθιον , ἔπινον , ἠγόραζον , ἐπώλουν , ἐφύτευον , ᾠκοδόμουν ·
Similiter sicut factum est in diebus Lot : edebant et bibebant , emebant et vendebant , plantabant et aedificabant :
ወበከመ ኮነ በመዋዕሊሁ ለሎጥ እንዘ ይበልዑ ወይሰትዩ ወየሐንጹ ወይተክሉ ወይሠይጡ ወይሣየጡ ።
Likewise, even as it was in the days of Lot: they ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built;
17:29 ⧉ ⤴︎ ᾗ δὲ ἡμέρᾳ ἐξῆλθεν Λὼτ ἀπὸ Σοδόμων , ἔβρεξεν πῦρ καὶ θεῖον ἀπ’ οὐρανοῦ καὶ ἀπώλεσεν ἅπαντας .
qua die autem exiit Lot a Sodomis , pluit ignem et sulphur de caelo , et omnes perdidit :
እስከ አመ ዕለተ ወፅአ ሎጥ እምሰዶም ወአዝነመ እግዚአብሔር እሳተ ወተየ እምሰማይ ወአጥፍአ ኵሎ ።
but in the day that Lot went out from Sodom, it rained fire and sulfur from the sky and destroyed them all.
17:30 ⧉ ⤴︎ κατὰ τὰ αὐτὰ ἔσται ᾗ ἡμέρᾳ ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου ἀποκαλύπτεται .
secundum haec erit qua die Filius hominis revelabitur .
ከማሁ ውእቱ ምጽአቱ ለወልደ ዕጓለ እመሕያው ወኢይትዐወቅ ።
It will be the same way in the day that the Son of Man is revealed.
17:31 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἐν ἐκείνῃ τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ὃς ἔσται ἐπὶ τοῦ δώματος καὶ τὰ σκεύη αὐτοῦ ἐν τῇ οἰκίᾳ , μὴ καταβάτω ἆραι αὐτά , καὶ ὁ ἐν ἀγρῷ ὁμοίως μὴ ἐπιστρεψάτω εἰς τὰ ὀπίσω .
In illa hora , qui fuerit in tecto , et vasa ejus in domo , ne descendat tollere illa : et qui in agro , similiter non redeat retro .
ይእተ አሚረ ዘሀሎ ውስተ ናሕስ ወንዋዩ ውስተ ቤት ኢይረድ ይንሣእ ወዘሂ ገዳመ ሀሎ ኢይግባእ ድኅሬሁ ።
In that day, he who will be on the housetop and his goods in the house, let him not go down to take them away. Let him who is in the field likewise not turn back.
17:32 ⧉ ⤴︎ μνημονεύετε τῆς γυναικὸς Λώτ .
Memores estote uxoris Lot .
ተዘከርዋ ለብእሲተ ሎጥ ።
Remember Lot’s wife!
17:33 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὃς ἐὰν ζητήσῃ τὴν ψυχὴν αὐτοῦ περιποιήσασθαι , ἀπολέσει αὐτήν , καὶ ὃς ἐὰν ἀπολέσει , ζῳογονήσει αὐτήν .
Quicumque quaesierit animam suam salvam facere , perdet illam : et quicumque perdiderit illam , vivificabit eam .
እስመ ዘይፈቅድ ያድኅና ለነፍሱ ይገድፋ ወዘሰ ገደፋ ለነፍሱ በእንቲኣየ ያሐይዋ ።
Whoever seeks to save his life loses it, but whoever loses his life preserves it.
17:34 ⧉ ⤴︎ λέγω ὑμῖν , ταύτῃ τῇ νυκτὶ ἔσονται δύο ἐπὶ κλίνης μιᾶς , εἷς παραλημφθήσεται καὶ ὁ ἕτερος ἀφεθήσεται ·
Dico vobis : In illa nocte erunt duo in lecto uno : unus assumetur , et alter relinquetur :
እብለክሙ በይእቲ ሌሊት ክልኤቱ ይሰክቡ ውስተ አሐዱ ዐራት አሐደ ይነሥኡ ወካልኦ የኀድጉ ።
I tell you, in that night there will be two people in one bed. One will be taken and the other will be left.
17:35 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἔσονται δύο ἀλήθουσαι ἐπὶ τὸ αὐτό , ἡ μία παραλημφθήσεται ἡ δὲ ἑτέρα ἀφεθήσεται .
duae erunt molentes in unum : una assumetur , et altera relinquetur : duo in agro : unus assumetur , et alter relinquetur .
ወክልኤቲ የሐርጻ በአሐቲ ማሕረጽ አሐተ ይነሥኡ ወካልእታ የኀድጉ ።
There will be two grinding grain together. One will be taken and the other will be left.”
17:36 ⧉ ⤴︎ — Respondentes dicunt illi : Ubi Domine ?
ወክልኤቱ ይሄልዉ ውስተ አሐዱ ገራህት አሐደ ይነሥኡ ወካልኦ የኀድጉ ።
There will be two grinding grain together. One will be taken and the other will be left.”
17:37 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἀποκριθέντες λέγουσιν αὐτῷ · ποῦ , κύριε ; ὁ δὲ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς · ὅπου τὸ σῶμα , ἐκεῖ καὶ οἱ ἀετοὶ ἐπισυναχθήσονται .
Qui dixit illis : Ubicumque fuerit corpus , illuc congregabuntur et aquilae .
ወአውሥኡ ወይቤልዎኀ በአይቴኑ እግዚኦ ወይቤሎሙ ኀበ ሀሎ ገደላ ህየ ይትጋብኡ አንስርት ።
They, answering, asked him, “Where, Lord?” He said to them, “Where the body is, there the vultures will also be gathered together.”
