13:1 ⧉ ⤴︎ Παρῆσαν δέ τινες ἐν αὐτῷ τῷ καιρῷ ἀπαγγέλλοντες αὐτῷ περὶ τῶν Γαλιλαίων ὧν τὸ αἷμα Πειλᾶτος ἔμιξεν μετὰ τῶν θυσιῶν αὐτῶν .
Aderant autem quidam ipso in tempore , nuntiantes illi de Galilaeis , quorum sanguinem Pilatus miscuit cum sacrificiis eorum .
ወበውእቱ መዋዕል መጽኡ ሰብእ ኀቤሁ ወዜነውዎ በእንተ ገሊላውያን እለ ደመረ ጲላጦስ ደሞሙ ምስለ መሥዋዕቶሙ ።
Now there were some present at the same time who told him about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mixed with their sacrifices.
13:2 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἀποκριθεὶς εἶπεν αὐτοῖς · δοκεῖτε ὅτι οἱ Γαλιλαῖοι οὗτοι ἁμαρτωλοὶ παρὰ πάντας τοὺς Γαλιλαίους ἐγένοντο , ὅτι ταῦτα πεπόνθασιν ;
Et respondens dixit illis : Putatis quod hi Galilaei prae omnibus Galilaeis peccatores fuerint , quia talia passi sunt ?
ወአውሥአ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ወይቤሎሙ ይመስለክሙኑ እሙንቱ ገሊላውያን ኃጥኣን እምኵሉ ሰብአ ገሊላ እስመ ዛቲ ሕማም ረከበቶሙ ።
Jesus answered them, “Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans, because they suffered such things?
13:3 ⧉ ⤴︎ οὐχί λέγω ὑμῖν , ἀλλ’ ἐὰν μὴ μετανοῆτε , πάντες ὁμοίως ἀπολεῖσθε .
Non , dico vobis : sed nisi poenitentiam habueritis , omnes similiter peribitis .
አልቦ እብለክሙ እመሰ ኢነሳሕክሙ አንትሙኒ ከማሆሙ ትትኀጐሉ ኵልክሙ ።
I tell you, no, but unless you repent, you will all perish in the same way.
13:4 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἢ ἐκεῖνοι οἱ δεκαοκτώ , ἐφ’ οὓς ἔπεσεν ὁ πύργος ἐν τῷ Σιλωὰμ καὶ ἀπέκτεινεν αὐτούς , δοκεῖτε ὅτι αὐτοὶ ὀφειλέται ἐγένοντο παρὰ πάντας τοὺς ἀνθρώπους τοὺς κατοικοῦντας ἐν Ἱερουσαλήμ ;
Sicut illi decem et octo , supra quos cecidit turris in Siloë , et occidit eos : putatis quia et ipsi debitores fuerint praeter omnes homines habitantes in Jerusalem ?
ወሚመ ይመስለክሙኑ እሉ ዐሠርቱ ወሰመንቱ እለ ወድቀ ላዕሌሆሙ ማኅፈድ በሰሊሆሙ ወቀተሎሙ ከመ እሙንቱ ኃጥኣን እምኵሉ ሰብአ ኢየሩሳሌም ።
Or those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them—do you think that they were worse offenders than all the men who dwell in Jerusalem?
13:5 ⧉ ⤴︎ οὐχί λέγω ὑμῖν , ἀλλ’ ἐὰν μὴ μετανοήσητε , πάντες ὡσαύτως ἀπολεῖσθε .
Non , dico vobis : sed si poenitentiam non egeritis , omnes similiter peribitis .
አልቦ እብለክሙ እመሰ ኢነሳሕክሙ ከማሆሙ ትትኀጐሉ አንትሙሂ ኵልክሙ ።
I tell you, no, but, unless you repent, you will all perish in the same way.”
13:6 ⧉ ⤴︎ Ἔλεγεν δὲ ταύτην τὴν παραβολήν . Συκῆν εἶχέν τις πεφυτευμένην ἐν τῷ ἀμπελῶνι αὐτοῦ , καὶ ἦλθεν ζητῶν καρπὸν ἐν αὐτῇ καὶ οὐχ εὗρεν .
Dicebat autem et hanc similitudinem : Arborem fici habebat quidam plantatam in vinea sua , et venit quaerens fructum in illa , et non invenit .
ወመሰለ ሎሙ ወይቤሎሙ አሐዱ ብእሲ በለስ ቦቱ ውስተ ዐጸደ ወይኑ እምርት ወሖረ ኀቤሃ ይንሣእ ፍሬሃ ወኢረከበ ።
He spoke this parable. “A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came seeking fruit on it and found none.
13:7 ⧉ ⤴︎ εἶπεν δὲ πρὸς τὸν ἀμπελουργόν · ἰδοὺ τρία ἔτη ἀφ’ οὗ ἔρχομαι ζητῶν καρπὸν ἐν τῇ συκῇ ταύτῃ καὶ οὐχ εὑρίσκω · ἔκκοψον αὐτήν · ἱνατί καὶ τὴν γῆν καταργεῖ ;
Dixit autem ad cultorem vineae : Ecce anni tres sunt ex quo venio quaerens fructum in ficulnea hac , et non invenio : succide ergo illam : ut quid etiam terram occupat ?
ወሶበ ኢረከበ ይቤሎ ለዐቃቤ ወይን ናሁ ሠለስተ ዓመተ እንዘ እመጽእ እንሣእ ፍሬሃ ለዛቲ በለስ ወኢረከብኩ ግዝማ እንከሰ ከመ ኢታጽርእ ምድረነ ።
He said to the vine dresser, ‘Behold, these three years I have come looking for fruit on this fig tree, and found none. Cut it down! Why does it waste the soil?’
13:8 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὁ δὲ ἀποκριθεὶς λέγει αὐτῷ · κύριε , ἄφες αὐτὴν καὶ τοῦτο τὸ ἔτος , ἕως ὅτου σκάψω περὶ αὐτὴν καὶ βάλω κόπρια ·
At ille respondens , dicit illi : Domine dimitte illam et hoc anno , usque dum fodiam circa illam , et mittam stercora ,
ወአውሥአ ወይቤሎ ኅድጋ እግዚኦ ኀሪፈኒ እስከ እከሪ መሬተ ወእወዲ ወእክዑ ድኵዐ ታሕቴሃ ።
He answered, ‘Lord, leave it alone this year also, until I dig around it and fertilize it.
13:9 ⧉ ⤴︎ κἂν μὲν ποιήσῃ καρπὸν εἰς τὸ μέλλον · εἰ δὲ μήγε , ἐκκόψεις αὐτήν .
et siquidem fecerit fructum : sin autem , in futurum succides eam .
ለእመቦ ከመ ትፈሪ ለዓሙ ወእመ አኮሰ ንገዝማ ለእመ ሐዮነ ።
If it bears fruit, fine; but if not, after that, you can cut it down.’”
13:10 ⧉ ⤴︎ Ἦν δὲ διδάσκων ἐν μιᾷ τῶν συναγωγῶν ἐν τοῖς σάββασιν .
Erat autem docens in synagoga eorum sabbatis .
ወመሀሮሙ በሰንበት በአሐዱ ምኵራብ ።
He was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath day.
13:11 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἰδοὺ γυνὴ πνεῦμα ἔχουσα ἀσθενείας ἔτη δεκαοκτώ , καὶ ἦν συνκύπτουσα καὶ μὴ δυναμένη ἀνακύψαι εἰς τὸ παντελές .
Et ecce mulier , quae habebat spiritum infirmitatis annis decem et octo : et erat inclinata , nec omnino poterat sursum respicere .
ወሀለወት አሐቲ ብእሲት እንተ አድወያ ጋኔን ዐሠርተ ወሰመንተ ዓመተ ወጕሕቈት ወኢትክል ርቱዐ ቀዊመ ግሙራ ።
Behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years. She was bent over and could in no way straighten herself up.
13:12 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἰδὼν δὲ αὐτὴν ὁ Ἰησοῦς προσεφώνησεν καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῇ · γύναι , ἀπολέλυσαι ἀπὸ τῆς ἀσθενείας σου ,
Quam cum videret Jesus , vocavit eam ad se , et ait illi : Mulier , dimissa es ab infirmitate tua .
ወርእያ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ወመሐራ ወጸውዓ ወይቤላ ኦ ብእሲቶ ተስዕርኪ እምደዌኪ ።
When Jesus saw her, he called her and said to her, “Woman, you are freed from your infirmity.”
13:13 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἐπέθηκεν αὐτῇ τὰς χεῖρας · καὶ παραχρῆμα ἀνορθώθη , καὶ ἐδόξαζεν τὸν θεόν .
Et imposuit illi manus , et confestim erecta est , et glorificabat Deum .
ወአንበረ እዴሁ ላዕሌሃ ወረትዐት ሶቤሃ ወአእኰተቶ ለእግዚአብሔር ።
He laid his hands on her, and immediately she stood up straight and glorified God.
13:14 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἀποκριθεὶς δὲ ὁ ἀρχισυνάγωγος , ἀγανακτῶν ὅτι τῷ σαββάτῳ ἐθεράπευσεν ὁ Ἰησοῦς , ἔλεγεν τῷ ὄχλῳ ὅτι ἓξ ἡμέραι εἰσὶν ἐν αἷς δεῖ ἐργάζεσθαι · ἐν αὐταῖς οὖν ἐρχόμενοι θεραπεύεσθε καὶ μὴ τῇ ἡμέρᾳ τοῦ σαββάτου .
Respondens autem archisynagogus , indignans quia sabbato curasset Jesus , dicebat turbae : Sex dies sunt in quibus oportet operari : in his ergo venite , et curamini , et non in die sabbati .
ወአውሥአ መጋቤ ምኵራብ እንዘ ይትመዐዕ እስመ በሰንበት ፈወሰ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ወይቤሎሙ ለሕዝብ አኮኑ ሰዱስ መዋዕል ውእቱ በዘትገብሩ ግብረክሙ ውእተ አሚረ ንዑ ተፈወሱ ወአኮ በዕለተ ሰንበት ።
The ruler of the synagogue, being indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, said to the multitude, “There are six days in which men ought to work. Therefore come on those days and be healed, and not on the Sabbath day!”
13:15 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἀπεκρίθη δὲ αὐτῷ ὁ κύριος καὶ εἶπεν · ὑποκριταί , ἕκαστος ὑμῶν τῷ σαββάτῳ οὐ λύει τὸν βοῦν αὐτοῦ ἢ τὸν ὄνον ἀπὸ τῆς φάτνης καὶ ἀπαγαγὼν ποτίζει ;
Respondens autem ad illum Dominus , dixit : Hypocritae , unusquisque vestrum sabbato non solvit bovem suum , aut asinum a praesepio , et ducit adaquare ?
ወአውሥአ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ወይቤሎሙ ኦ መደልዋን አንትሙሰ ኢትፈትሑኑ አድገክሙ ወላሕመክሙ እምነ ምቅማሑ ወኢትወስድዎኑ ታስትይዎ ማየ በዕለተ ሰንበት ።
Therefore the Lord answered him, “You hypocrites! Doesn’t each one of you free his ox or his donkey from the stall on the Sabbath and lead him away to water?
13:16 ⧉ ⤴︎ ταύτην δὲ θυγατέρα Ἀβραὰμ οὖσαν , ἣν ἔδησεν ὁ σατανᾶς ἰδοὺ δέκα καὶ ὀκτὼ ἔτη , οὐκ ἔδει λυθῆναι ἀπὸ τοῦ δεσμοῦ τούτου τῇ ἡμέρᾳ τοῦ σαββάτου ;
Hanc autem filiam Abrahae , quam alligavit Satanas , ecce decem et octo annis , non oportuit solvi a vinculo isto die sabbati ?
ወዛቲ ወለተ አብርሃም ናሁ ዐሠርቱ ወሰመንቱ ዓመት እምዘአሰራ ሰይጣን አኮኑ ርቱዕ ትትፈታሕ እምነ ማእሰራ ይእቲሂ በዕለተ ሰንበት ።
Ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham whom Satan had bound eighteen long years, be freed from this bondage on the Sabbath day?”
13:17 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ταῦτα λέγοντος αὐτοῦ κατῃσχύνοντο πάντες οἱ ἀντικείμενοι αὐτῷ , καὶ πᾶς ὁ ὄχλος ἔχαιρεν ἐπὶ πᾶσιν τοῖς ἐνδόξοις τοῖς γινομένοις ὑπ’ αὐτοῦ .
Et cum haec diceret , erubescebant omnes adversarii ejus : et omnis populus gaudebat in universis , quae gloriose fiebant ab eo .
ወዘንተ ብሂሎ ተኀፍሩ ኵሎሙ እለ ቆሙ ላዕሌሁ ወተፈሥሑ ኵሉ ሕዝብ በእንተ ኵሉ መንክር ዘይትገበር እምኔሁ ።
As he said these things, all his adversaries were disappointed; and all the multitude rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by him.
13:18 ⧉ ⤴︎ Ἔλεγεν οὖν · τίνι ὁμοία ἐστὶν ἡ βασιλεία τοῦ θεοῦ , καὶ τίνι ὁμοιώσω αὐτήν ;
Dicebat ergo : Cui simile est regnum Dei , et cui simile aestimabo illud ?
ወይቤሎሙ ምንተ ትመስል መንግሥተ ሰማያት ወበምንት አስተማስላ ።
He said, “What is God’s Kingdom like? To what shall I compare it?
13:19 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὁμοία ἐστὶν κόκκῳ σινάπεως , ὃν λαβὼν ἄνθρωπος ἔβαλεν εἰς κῆπον ἑαυτοῦ , καὶ ηὔξησεν καὶ ἐγένετο εἰς δένδρον , καὶ τὰ πετεινὰ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ κατεσκήνωσεν ἐν τοῖς κλάδοις αὐτοῦ .
Simile est grano sinapis , quod acceptum homo misit in hortum suum , et crevit , et factum est in arborem magnam : et volucres caeli requieverunt in ramis ejus .
ትመስል ኅጠተ ሰናፔ እንተ ነሥኣ ብእሲ ወዘርዓ ውስተ ገራህቱ ወልህቀት ወኮነት ዕፀ ዐባየ ወአጽለሉ አዕዋፈ ሰማይ ውስተ አዕጹቂሃ ።
It is like a grain of mustard seed which a man took and put in his own garden. It grew and became a large tree, and the birds of the sky live in its branches.”
13:20 ⧉ ⤴︎ Καὶ πάλιν εἶπεν · τίνι ὁμοιώσω τὴν βασιλείαν τοῦ θεοῦ ;
Et iterum dixit : Cui simile aestimabo regnum Dei ?
ወካዕበ ይቤ በምንት አስተማስላ ለመንግሥተ እግዚአብሔር ።
Again he said, “To what shall I compare God’s Kingdom?
13:21 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὁμοία ἐστὶν ζύμῃ , ἣν λαβοῦσα γυνὴ ἔκρυψεν εἰς ἀλεύρου σάτα τρία , ἕως οὗ ἐζυμώθη ὅλον .
Simile est fermento , quod acceptum mulier abscondit in farinae sata tria , donec fermentaretur totum .
ትመስል ብኁአ ዘነሥአቶ ብእሲት ወደፈነቶ ውስተ ሐሪጽ ዘሠለስቱ መስፈርት ወአብኅአ ኵሎ ።
It is like yeast, which a woman took and hid in three measures of flour, until it was all leavened.”
13:22 ⧉ ⤴︎ Καὶ διεπορεύετο κατὰ πόλεις καὶ κώμας διδάσκων καὶ πορείαν ποιούμενος εἰς Ἱεροσόλυμα .
Et ibat per civitates et castella , docens , et iter faciens in Jerusalem .
ወየሐውር አህጉረ ወአዕጻዳተ ያንሶሱ በኢየሩሳሌም ወይሜህር ።
He went on his way through cities and villages, teaching, and traveling on to Jerusalem.
13:23 ⧉ ⤴︎ Εἶπεν δέ τις αὐτῷ · κύριε , εἰ ὀλίγοι οἱ σῳζόμενοι ; ὁ δὲ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτούς ·
Ait autem illi quidam : Domine , si pauci sunt , qui salvantur ? Ipse autem dixit ad illos :
ወይቤሎ አሐዱ እግዚኦ ውኁዳንኑ እንጋ እሙንቱ እለ ይድኅኑ ።
One said to him, “Lord, are they few who are saved?” He said to them,
13:24 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἀγωνίζεσθε εἰσελθεῖν διὰ τῆς στενῆς θύρας , ὅτι πολλοί , λέγω ὑμῖν , ζητήσουσιν εἰσελθεῖν καὶ οὐκ ἰσχύσουσιν .
Contendite intrare per angustam portam : quia multi , dico vobis , quaerent intrare , et non poterunt .
ወይቤሎሙ ተኀየሉ ትባኡ እንተ ጸባብ አንቀጽ እብለክሙ ብዙኃን እለ የኀሥሡ ይባኡ ወኢይክሉ ።
“Strive to enter in by the narrow door, for many, I tell you, will seek to enter in and will not be able.
13:25 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἀφ’ οὗ ἂν ἐγερθῇ ὁ οἰκοδεσπότης καὶ ἀποκλείσῃ τὴν θύραν , καὶ ἄρξησθε ἔξω ἑστάναι καὶ κρούειν τὴν θύραν λέγοντες · κύριε , ἄνοιξον ἡμῖν , καὶ ἀποκριθεὶς ἐρεῖ ὑμῖν · οὐκ οἶδα ὑμᾶς πόθεν ἐστέ .
Cum autem intraverit paterfamilias , et clauserit ostium , incipietis foris stare , et pulsare ostium , dicentes : Domine , aperi nobis : et respondens dicet vobis : Nescio vos unde sitis :
እስመ ይትነሣእ በዓለ ቤት ወየዐጹ ኆኅቶ ወይእተ ጊዜ ይእኅዙ ይቁሙ አፍኣ ወይጐድጕዱ እንዘ ይብሉ እግዚኦ እግዚኦ አርኅወነ ወያወሥእ ወይብሎሙ ኢየአምረክሙ እምአይቴ አንትሙ ።
When once the master of the house has risen up and has shut the door, and you begin to stand outside and to knock at the door, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us!’ then he will answer and tell you, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from.’
13:26 ⧉ ⤴︎ τότε ἄρξεσθε λέγειν · ἐφάγομεν ἐνώπιόν σου καὶ ἐπίομεν , καὶ ἐν ταῖς πλατείαις ἡμῶν ἐδίδαξας ·
tunc incipietis dicere : Manducavimus coram te , et bibimus , et in plateis nostris docuisti .
ወእምዝ ይእኅዙ ይበልዎ በላዕነሂ ወሰተይነሂ በቅድሜከ ወመሀርከ በመራሕብቲነ ።
Then you will begin to say, ‘We ate and drank in your presence, and you taught in our streets.’
13:27 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἐρεῖ · λέγω ὑμῖν , οὐκ οἶδα ὑμᾶς πόθεν ἐστέ · ἀπόστητε ἀπ’ ἐμοῦ πάντες ἐργάται ἀδικίας .
Et dicet vobis : Nescio vos unde sitis : discedite a me omnes operarii iniquitatis .
ወይቤሎሙ እብለክሙ ኢየአምረክሙ እምአይቴ አንትሙ ረኀቁ እምኔየ ኵልክሙ ገበርተ ዐመፃ ።
He will say, ‘I tell you, I don’t know where you come from. Depart from me, all you workers of iniquity.’
13:28 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἐκεῖ ἔσται ὁ κλαυθμὸς καὶ ὁ βρυγμὸς τῶν ὀδόντων , ὅταν ὄψεσθε Ἀβραὰμ καὶ Ἰσαὰκ καὶ Ἰακὼβ καὶ πάντας τοὺς προφήτας ἐν τῇ βασιλείᾳ τοῦ θεοῦ , ὑμᾶς δὲ ἐκβαλλομένους ἔξω .
Ibi erit fletus et stridor dentium : cum videritis Abraham , et Isaac , et Jacob , et omnes prophetas in regno Dei , vos autem expelli foras .
ወሑሩ ውስተ ብካይ ወሐቅየ ስነን ወአመ ርኢክምዎሙ ለአብርሃም ወለይስሐቅ ወለያዕቆብ ወለኵሎሙ ነቢያት በመንግሥተ እግዚአብሔር ወለክሙሰ ያውፅኡክሙ አፍኣ ።
There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth when you see Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and all the prophets in God’s Kingdom, and yourselves being thrown outside.
13:29 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἥξουσιν ἀπὸ ἀνατολῶν καὶ δυσμῶν καὶ Βορρᾶ καὶ νότου καὶ ἀνακλιθήσονται ἐν τῇ βασιλείᾳ τοῦ θεοῦ .
Et venient ab oriente , et occidente , et aquilone , et austro , et accumbent in regno Dei .
ወይመጽኡ እምጽባሕ ወእምዕራብ ወእምሰሜን ወእምደቡብ ወይረፍቁ ወይትፌሥሑ በመንግሥተ እግዚአብሔር ።
They will come from the east, west, north, and south, and will sit down in God’s Kingdom.
13:30 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἰδοὺ εἰσὶν ἔσχατοι οἳ ἔσονται πρῶτοι , καὶ εἰσὶν πρῶτοι οἳ ἔσονται ἔσχατοι .
Et ecce sunt novissimi qui erunt primi , et sunt primi qui erunt novissimi .
ወይከውኑ ደኀርት ቀደምተ ወቀደምት ይከውኑ ደኀርተ ።
Behold, there are some who are last who will be first, and there are some who are first who will be last.”
13:31 ⧉ ⤴︎ Ἐν αὐτῇ τῇ ὥρᾳ προσῆλθάν τινες Φαρισαῖοι λέγοντες αὐτῷ · ἔξελθε καὶ πορεύου ἐντεῦθεν , ὅτι Ἡρώδης θέλει σε ἀποκτεῖναι .
In ipsa die accesserunt quidam pharisaeorum , dicentes illi : Exi , et vade hinc : quia Herodes vult te occidere .
ወበይእቲ ዕለት መጽኡ ፈሪሳውያን ወይቤልዎ ሑር እምዝየ እስመ ሄሮድስ ይፈቅድ ይቅትልከ ።
On that same day, some Pharisees came, saying to him, “Get out of here and go away, for Herod wants to kill you.”
13:32 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς · πορευθέντες εἴπατε τῇ ἀλώπεκι ταύτῃ · ἰδοὺ ἐκβάλλω δαιμόνια καὶ ἰάσεις ἀποτελῶ σήμερον καὶ αὔριον , καὶ τῇ τρίτῃ τελειοῦμαι .
Et ait illis : Ite , et dicite vulpi illi : Ecce ejicio daemonia , et sanitates perficio hodie , et cras , et tertia die consummor .
ወይቤሎሙ ሑሩ በልዋ ለዛቲ ቍንጽል ናሁ አወፅእ አጋንንተ ወእሁብ ሕይወተ ዮም ወጌሠመ ወበሣልስት እፌጽም ።
He said to them, “Go and tell that fox, ‘Behold, I cast out demons and perform cures today and tomorrow, and the third day I complete my mission.
13:33 ⧉ ⤴︎ πλὴν δεῖ με σήμερον καὶ αὔριον καὶ τῇ ἐχομένῃ πορεύεσθαι , ὅτι οὐκ ἐνδέχεται προφήτην ἀπολέσθαι ἔξω Ἱερουσαλήμ .
Verumtamen oportet me hodie et cras et sequenti die ambulare : quia non capit prophetam perire extra Jerusalem .
ወባሕቱ ዮምሰ ወጌሠመ ሀለውኩ ወበሣልስት አሐውር እስመ ኢይደልዎ ለነቢይ መዊት በአፍኣ ዘእንበለ በኢየሩሳሌም ።
Nevertheless I must go on my way today and tomorrow and the next day, for it can’t be that a prophet would perish outside of Jerusalem.’
13:34 ⧉ ⤴︎ Ἱερουσαλὴμ Ἱερουσαλήμ , ἡ ἀποκτείνουσα τοὺς προφήτας καὶ λιθοβολοῦσα τοὺς ἀπεσταλμένους πρὸς αὐτήν , ποσάκις ἠθέλησα ἐπισυνάξαι τὰ τέκνα σου ὃν τρόπον ὄρνιξ τὴν ἑαυτῆς νοσσιὰν ὑπὸ τὰς πτέρυγας , καὶ οὐκ ἠθελήσατε .
Jerusalem , Jerusalem , quae occidis prophetas , et lapidas eos qui mittuntur ad te , quoties volui congregare filios tuos quemadmodum avis nidum suum sub pennis , et noluisti ?
ኢየሩሳሌም ኢየሩሳሌም እንተ ትቀትሊዮሙ ለነቢያት ወትዌግሪዮሙ ለሐዋርያት እለ ተፈነዉ ኀቤኪ ሚመጠነ ፈቀድኩ አስተጋብኦሙ ለደቂቅኪ ከመ እንተ ታስተጋብእ ዶርሆ ዕጐሊሃ ታሕተ ክነፊሃ ወአበይክሙ ።
“Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, like a hen gathers her own brood under her wings, and you refused!
13:35 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἰδοὺ ἀφίεται ὑμῖν ὁ οἶκος ὑμῶν . λέγω ὑμῖν ὅτι οὐ μὴ ἴδητέ με ἕως ἥξει ὅτε εἴπητε · εὐλογημένος ὁ ἐρχόμενος ἐν ὀνόματι κυρίου .
Ecce relinquetur vobis domus vestra deserta . Dico autem vobis , quia non videbitis me donec veniat cum dicetis : Benedictus qui venit in nomine Domini .
ናሁ ይትኀደግ ለክሙ ቤትክሙ በድወ እብለክሙ ከመ ኢትሬእዩኒ እምይእዜ እስከ ሶበ ትብሉ ቡሩክ ዘይመጽእ በስመ እግዚአብሔር ።
Behold, your house is left to you desolate. I tell you, you will not see me until you say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!’”
