49:1
לִבְנֵ֣י עַמּ֗וֹן כֹּ֚ה אָמַ֣ר יְהֹוָ֔ה הֲבָנִ֥ים אֵין֙ לְיִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל אִם־יוֹרֵ֖שׁ אֵ֣ין ל֑וֹ מַדּ֗וּעַ יָרַ֤שׁ מַלְכָּם֙ אֶת־גָּ֔ד וְעַמּ֖וֹ בְּעָרָ֥יו יָשָֽׁב׃
καὶ προσῆλθον πάντες οἱ ἡγεμόνες τῆς δυνάμεως καὶ Ιωαναν καὶ Αζαριας υἱὸς Μαασαιου καὶ πᾶς ὁ λαὸς ἀπὸ μικροῦ ἕως μεγάλου
Ad filios Ammon. Haec dicit Dominus : Numquid non filii sunt Israël, aut haeres non est ei ? cur igitur haereditate possedit Melchom Gad, et populus ejus in urbibus ejus habitavit ?
በእንተ፡ ደቂቀ፡ አሞን፡ ከመዝ፡ ይ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ አልቦ፡ ኑ፡ ደቂቅ፡ በውስተ፡ እስራኤል፡ ወአልቦኑ፡ ዘይወርስ፡ እምኔሆሙ፡ ከመ፡ ይረሶ፡ ሞሎክ፡ ለጋድ፡ ወሕዝቡ፡ ውስተ፡ አህጉሪሁ፡ ይንበር።
Of the children of Ammon. Yahweh says: “Has Israel no sons? Has he no heir? Why then does Malcam possess Gad, and his people dwell in its cities?
49:2
לָכֵ֡ן הִנֵּה֩ יָמִ֨ים בָּאִ֜ים נְאֻם־יְהֹוָ֗ה וְ֠הִשְׁמַעְתִּ֠י אֶל־רַבַּ֨ת בְּנֵי־עַמּ֜וֹן תְּרוּעַ֣ת מִלְחָמָ֗ה וְהָֽיְתָה֙ לְתֵ֣ל שְׁמָמָ֔ה וּבְנֹתֶ֖יהָ בָּאֵ֣שׁ תִּצַּ֑תְנָה וְיָרַ֧שׁ יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל אֶת־יֹרְשָׁ֖יו אָמַ֥ר יְהֹוָֽה׃
πρὸς Ιερεμιαν τὸν προφήτην καὶ εἶπαν αὐτῷ πεσέτω δὴ τὸ ἔλεος ἡμῶν κατὰ πρόσωπόν σου καὶ πρόσευξαι πρὸς κύριον τὸν θεόν σου περὶ τῶν καταλοίπων τούτων ὅτι κατελείφθημεν ὀλίγοι ἀπὸ πολλῶν καθὼς οἱ ὀφθαλμοί σου βλέπουσιν
Ideo ecce dies veniunt, dicit Dominus, et auditum faciam super Rabbath filiorum Ammon fremitum praelii, et erit in tumultum dissipata, filiaeque ejus igni succendentur, et possidebit Israël possessores suos, ait Dominus.
በእንተ፡ ዝንቱ፡ ናሁ፡ ይመጽእ፡ መዋዕል፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ወአሰምዕ፡ ሀከከ፡ ወውዓ፡ ቀትል፡ ላዕለ፡ ራቦት፡ ዘደቂቀ፡ አሞን፡ ወይከውኑ፡ ለሐጕል፡ በድወ፡ ወአዋልዲሃ፡ ይውዕያ፡ በእሳት፡ ወይወርሶ፡ እስራኤል፡ ለወራሲ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር።
Therefore behold, the days come,” says Yahweh, “that I will cause an alarm of war to be heard against Rabbah of the children of Ammon, and it will become a desolate heap, and her daughters will be burned with fire; then Israel will possess those who possessed him,” says Yahweh.
49:3
הֵילִ֨ילִי חֶשְׁבּ֜וֹן כִּ֣י שֻׁדְּדָה־עַ֗י צְעַ֘קְנָה֮ בְּנ֣וֹת רַבָּה֒ חֲגֹ֣רְנָה שַׂקִּ֔ים סְפֹ֕דְנָה וְהִתְשׁוֹטַ֖טְנָה בַּגְּדֵר֑וֹת כִּ֤י מַלְכָּם֙ בַּגּוֹלָ֣ה יֵלֵ֔ךְ כֹּהֲנָ֥יו וְשָׂרָ֖יו יַחְדָּֽיו׃
καὶ ἀναγγειλάτω ἡμῖν κύριος ὁ θεός σου τὴν ὁδόν ᾗ πορευσόμεθα ἐν αὐτῇ καὶ λόγον ὃν ποιήσομεν
Ulula, Hesebon, quoniam vastata est Hai ; clamate, filiae Rabbath : accingite vos ciliciis, plangite et circuite per sepes, quoniam Melchom in transmigrationem ducetur, sacerdotes ejus et principes ejus simul.
አውይዊ፡ ሐሴቦን፡ እስመ፡ ኀለፈት።
“Wail, Heshbon, for Ai is laid waste! Cry, you daughters of Rabbah! Clothe yourself in sackcloth. Lament, and run back and forth among the fences; for Malcam will go into captivity, his priests and his princes together.
49:4
מַה־תִּתְהַֽלְלִי֙ בָּעֲמָקִ֔ים זָ֣ב עִמְקֵ֔ךְ הַבַּ֖ת הַשּׁוֹבֵבָ֑ה הַבֹּֽטְחָה֙ בְּאֹ֣צְרֹתֶ֔יהָ מִ֖י יָב֥וֹא אֵלָֽי׃
καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς Ιερεμιας ἤκουσα ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ προσεύξομαι πρὸς κύριον τὸν θεὸν ἡμῶν κατὰ τοὺς λόγους ὑμῶν καὶ ἔσται ὁ λόγος ὃν ἂν ἀποκριθήσεται κύριος ἀναγγελῶ ὑμῖν οὐ μὴ κρύψω ἀφ’ ὑμῶν ῥῆμα
Quid gloriaris in vallibus ? defluxit vallis tua, filia delicata, quae confidebas in thesauris tuis, et dicebas : Quis veniet ad me ?
ምንተ፡ ትትኀሠዪ፡ ጠፍአ፡ ቈላትኪ፡ ወለት፡ ዕሉት፡ እንተ፡ ትትአመን፡ በመዛግብቲሃ፡ ወትብል፡ አልቦ፡ ዘይበውእ፡ ኀቤየ።
Why do you boast in the valleys, your flowing valley, backsliding daughter? You trusted in her treasures, saying, ‘Who will come to me?’
49:5
הִנְנִי֩ מֵבִ֨יא עָלַ֜יִךְ פַּ֗חַד נְאֻם־אֲדֹנָ֧י יֱהֹוִ֛ה צְבָא֖וֹת מִכׇּל־סְבִיבָ֑יִךְ וְנִדַּחְתֶּם֙ אִ֣ישׁ לְפָנָ֔יו וְאֵ֥ין מְקַבֵּ֖ץ לַנֹּדֵֽד׃
καὶ αὐτοὶ εἶπαν τῷ Ιερεμια ἔστω κύριος ἐν ἡμῖν εἰς μάρτυρα δίκαιον καὶ πιστόν εἰ μὴ κατὰ πάντα τὸν λόγον ὃν ἂν ἀποστείλῃ σε κύριος πρὸς ἡμᾶς οὕτως ποιήσομεν
Ecce ego inducam super te terrorem, ait Dominus Deus exercituum, ab omnibus qui sunt in circuitu tuo : et dispergemini singuli a conspectu vestro, nec erit qui congreget fugientes.
ናሁ፡ አመጽእ፡ አነ፡ ድንጋፄ፡ ላዕሌኪ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ እግዚእ፡ ጸባኦት፡ እምኵሉ፡ ዐውድኪ፡ ወተዘርወ፡ ብእሲ፡ ቅድመ፡ ገጹ፡ ወአልቦ፡ ዘያስተጋብእ፡ ዘሖረ።
Behold, I will bring a terror on you,” says the Lord, Yahweh of Armies, “from all who are around you. All of you will be driven completely out, and there will be no one to gather together the fugitives.
49:6
וְאַחֲרֵי־כֵ֗ן אָשִׁ֛יב אֶת־שְׁב֥וּת בְּנֵֽי־עַמּ֖וֹן נְאֻם־יְהֹוָֽה׃ {פ}
καὶ ἐὰν ἀγαθὸν καὶ ἐὰν κακόν τὴν φωνὴν κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ ἡμῶν οὗ ἡμεῖς ἀποστέλλομέν σε πρὸς αὐτόν ἀκουσόμεθα ἵνα βέλτιον ἡμῖν γένηται ὅτι ἀκουσόμεθα τῆς φωνῆς κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ ἡμῶν
Et post haec reverti faciam captivos filiorum Ammon, ait Dominus.
ወእምድኅረ፡ ዝንቱ፡ እመይጥ፡ ፄዋ፡ አሞን፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር።
“But afterward I will reverse the captivity of the children of Ammon,” says Yahweh.
49:7
לֶאֱד֗וֹם כֹּ֤ה אָמַר֙ יְהֹוָ֣ה צְבָא֔וֹת הַאֵ֥ין ע֛וֹד חׇכְמָ֖ה בְּתֵימָ֑ן אָבְדָ֤ה עֵצָה֙ מִבָּנִ֔ים נִסְרְחָ֖ה חׇכְמָתָֽם׃
καὶ ἐγενήθη μετὰ δέκα ἡμέρας ἐγενήθη λόγος κυρίου πρὸς Ιερεμιαν
Ad Idumaeam. Haec dicit Dominus exercituum : Numquid non ultra est sapientia in Theman ? periit consilium a filiis ; inutilis facta est sapientia eorum.
በእንተ፡ ኤዶምያስ፡ ከመዝ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ጸባኦት፡ አልቦ፡ እንከ፡ ጠቢብ፡ በውስተ፡ ቴማን፡ ወተኀጥአት፡ ምክር፡ እምደቂቃ፡ ወጠፍአ፡ ጥበቦሙ።
Of Edom, Yahweh of Armies says: “Is wisdom no more in Teman? Has counsel perished from the prudent? Has their wisdom vanished?
49:8
נֻ֤סוּ הׇפְנוּ֙ הֶעְמִ֣יקוּ לָשֶׁ֔בֶת יֹשְׁבֵ֖י דְּדָ֑ן כִּ֣י אֵ֥יד עֵשָׂ֛ו הֵבֵ֥אתִי עָלָ֖יו עֵ֥ת פְּקַדְתִּֽיו׃
καὶ ἐκάλεσεν τὸν Ιωαναν καὶ τοὺς ἡγεμόνας τῆς δυνάμεως καὶ πάντα τὸν λαὸν ἀπὸ μικροῦ ἕως μεγάλου
Fugite, et terga vertite ; descendite in voraginem, habitatores Dedan : quoniam perditionem Esau adduxi super eum, tempus visitationis ejus.
ወኬድዎ፡ ለብሔሮሙ፡ ጕዩ፡ ወተመየጡ፡ ወአዕምቁ፡ ለነቢር፡ እለ፡ ትነብሩ፡ ዴዳን፡ እስመ፡ ዕፁበ፡ ግብረ፡ አምጻእኩ፡ ላዕሌሁ፡ በዕለተ፡ እዋህዮ።
Flee! Turn back! Dwell in the depths, inhabitants of Dedan; for I will bring the calamity of Esau on him when I visit him.
49:9
אִם־בֹּֽצְרִים֙ בָּ֣אוּ לָ֔ךְ לֹ֥א יַשְׁאִ֖רוּ עוֹלֵל֑וֹת אִם־גַּנָּבִ֥ים בַּלַּ֖יְלָה הִשְׁחִ֥יתוּ דַיָּֽם׃
καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς οὕτως εἶπεν κύριος
Si vindemiatores venissent super te, non reliquissent racemum : si fures in nocte rapuissent quod sufficeret sibi.
እመ፡ መጽኡ፡ እለ፡ ይቀሥሙ፡ እምኢያትረፉኑ፡ ለከ፡ ተቅራመ፡ ወእመኒ፡ ሰረቅት፡ በሌሊት፡ እምኢያጥፍኡኑ፡ ዘየአክሎሙ።
If grape gatherers came to you, would they not leave some gleaning grapes? If thieves came by night, wouldn’t they steal until they had enough?
49:10
כִּֽי־אֲנִ֞י חָשַׂ֣פְתִּי אֶת־עֵשָׂ֗ו גִּלֵּ֙יתִי֙ אֶת־מִסְתָּרָ֔יו וְנֶחְבָּ֖ה לֹ֣א יוּכָ֑ל שֻׁדַּ֥ד זַרְע֛וֹ וְאֶחָ֥יו וּשְׁכֵנָ֖יו וְאֵינֶֽנּוּ׃
ἐὰν καθίσαντες καθίσητε ἐν τῇ γῇ ταύτῃ οἰκοδομήσω ὑμᾶς καὶ οὐ μὴ καθέλω καὶ φυτεύσω ὑμᾶς καὶ οὐ μὴ ἐκτίλω ὅτι ἀναπέπαυμαι ἐπὶ τοῖς κακοῖς οἷς ἐποίησα ὑμῖν
Ego vero discooperui Esau : revelavi abscondita ejus, et celari non poterit : vastatum est semen ejus, et fratres ejus, et vicini ejus, et non erit.
እስመ፡ አነ፡ ከሠትክዎ፡ ለኤሳው፡ ወከሠትኩ፡ ኅቡኣቲሁ፡ ወኢይክል፡ እንከ፡ ተኀብኦ፡ ግሙራ፡ ተቀጥቀጠ፡ ዘርኡ፡ ወኢሀለዉ፡ እኁሁ፡ ወጎሩ፡ ወአልቦ።
But I have made Esau bare, I have uncovered his secret places, and he will not be able to hide himself. His offspring is destroyed, with his brothers and his neighbors; and he is no more.
49:11
עׇזְבָ֥ה יְתֹמֶ֖יךָ אֲנִ֣י אֲחַיֶּ֑ה וְאַלְמְנוֹתֶ֖יךָ עָלַ֥י תִּבְטָֽחוּ׃ {ס}
μὴ φοβηθῆτε ἀπὸ προσώπου βασιλέως Βαβυλῶνος οὗ ὑμεῖς φοβεῖσθε ἀπὸ προσώπου αὐτοῦ μὴ φοβηθῆτε φησὶν κύριος ὅτι μεθ’ ὑμῶν ἐγώ εἰμι τοῦ ἐξαιρεῖσθαι ὑμᾶς καὶ σῴζειν ὑμᾶς ἐκ χειρὸς αὐτοῦ
Relinque pupillos tuos : ego faciam eos vivere : et viduae tuae in me sperabunt.
ተረፈ፡ ለእጓለ፡ ማውታከ፡ በዘየሐዩ፡ ወአንሰ፡ አሐዩ፡ ወመበለታቲከ፡ ላዕሌየ፡ ይትዌከላ።
Leave your fatherless children. I will preserve them alive. Let your widows trust in me.”
49:12
כִּי־כֹ֣ה׀ אָמַ֣ר יְהֹוָ֗ה הִ֠נֵּ֠ה אֲשֶׁר־אֵ֨ין מִשְׁפָּטָ֜ם לִשְׁתּ֤וֹת הַכּוֹס֙ שָׁת֣וֹ יִשְׁתּ֔וּ וְאַתָּ֣ה ה֔וּא נָקֹ֖ה תִּנָּקֶ֑ה לֹ֣א תִנָּקֶ֔ה כִּ֥י שָׁתֹ֖ה תִּשְׁתֶּֽה׃
καὶ δώσω ὑμῖν ἔλεος καὶ ἐλεήσω ὑμᾶς καὶ ἐπιστρέψω ὑμᾶς εἰς τὴν γῆν ὑμῶν
Quia haec dicit Dominus : Ecce quibus non erat judicium ut biberent calicem, bibentes bibent : et tu, quasi innocens relinqueris ? non eris innocens, sed bibens bibes.
እስመ፡ ከመዝ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ናሁ፡ ዘኢኮነ፡ ኵነኔ፡ ለሰትየ፡ ጽዋዕ፡ ሰትየ፡ ይሰትዩ፡ ወአንተኑ፡ ነጺሐ፡ ትነጽሕ፡ ኢትነጽሕ፡ እንከ፡ እስመ፡ ሰትየ፡ ትሰቲ።
For Yahweh says: “Behold, they to whom it didn’t pertain to drink of the cup will certainly drink; and are you he who will altogether go unpunished? You won’t go unpunished, but you will surely drink.
49:13
כִּ֣י בִ֤י נִשְׁבַּ֙עְתִּי֙ נְאֻם־יְהֹוָ֔ה כִּֽי־לְשַׁמָּ֧ה לְחֶרְפָּ֛ה לְחֹ֥רֶב וְלִקְלָלָ֖ה תִּהְיֶ֣ה בׇצְרָ֑ה וְכׇל־עָרֶ֥יהָ תִהְיֶ֖ינָה לְחׇרְב֥וֹת עוֹלָֽם׃
καὶ εἰ λέγετε ὑμεῖς οὐ μὴ καθίσωμεν ἐν τῇ γῇ ταύτῃ πρὸς τὸ μὴ ἀκοῦσαι φωνῆς κυρίου
Quia per memetipsum juravi, dicit Dominus, quod in solitudinem, et in opprobrium, et in desertum, et in maledictionem erit Bosra, et omnes civitates ejus erunt in solitudines sempiternas.
እስመ፡ በርእስየ፡ መሐልኩ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ከመ፡ ትከውን፡ ዓፀ፡ ወጽዕለተ፡ ወለመርገም፡ ትከውን፡ ባሶር፡ ወኵሉ፡ አህጉሪሃ፡ ይከውና፡ መዝበረ፡ ለዓለም።
For I have sworn by myself,” says Yahweh, “that Bozrah will become an astonishment, a reproach, a waste, and a curse. All its cities will be perpetual wastes.”
49:14
שְׁמוּעָ֤ה שָׁמַ֙עְתִּי֙ מֵאֵ֣ת יְהֹוָ֔ה וְצִ֖יר בַּגּוֹיִ֣ם שָׁל֑וּחַ הִֽתְקַבְּצוּ֙ וּבֹ֣אוּ עָלֶ֔יהָ וְק֖וּמוּ לַמִּלְחָמָֽה׃
ὅτι εἰς γῆν Αἰγύπτου εἰσελευσόμεθα καὶ οὐ μὴ ἴδωμεν πόλεμον καὶ φωνὴν σάλπιγγος οὐ μὴ ἀκούσωμεν καὶ ἐν ἄρτοις οὐ μὴ πεινάσωμεν καὶ ἐκεῖ οἰκήσομεν
Auditum audivi a Domino, et legatus ad gentes missus est : Congregamini, et venite contra eam, et consurgamus in praelium.
ሰሚዐ፡ ሰማዕኩ፡ እምኀበ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ከመ፡ ፈነወ፡ ሐዋርያተ፡ ውስተ፡ በሐውርተ፡ አሕዛብ፡ ይትጋብኡ፡ ወይምጽኡ፡ ላዕሌሃ፡ ወይትነሥኡ፡ ወይትቃተልዋ።
I have heard news from Yahweh, and an ambassador is sent among the nations, saying, “Gather yourselves together! Come against her! Rise up to the battle!”
49:15
כִּֽי־הִנֵּ֥ה קָטֹ֛ן נְתַתִּ֖יךָ בַּגּוֹיִ֑ם בָּז֖וּי בָּאָדָֽם׃
διὰ τοῦτο ἀκούσατε λόγον κυρίου οὕτως εἶπεν κύριος ἐὰν ὑμεῖς δῶτε τὸ πρόσωπον ὑμῶν εἰς Αἴγυπτον καὶ εἰσέλθητε ἐκεῖ κατοικεῖν
Ecce enim parvulum dedi te in gentibus, contemptibilem inter homines.
ኅዳጠ፡ ረሰይኩከ፡ በኀበ፡ አሕዛብ፡ ከመ፡ ይመንኑከ፡ ወያስተአክዩከ፡ ሰብእ።
“For, behold, I have made you small among the nations, and despised among men.
49:16
תִּֽפְלַצְתְּךָ֞ הִשִּׁ֤יא אֹתָךְ֙ זְד֣וֹן לִבֶּ֔ךָ שֹֽׁכְנִי֙ בְּחַגְוֵ֣י הַסֶּ֔לַע תֹּפְשִׂ֖י מְר֣וֹם גִּבְעָ֑ה כִּֽי־תַגְבִּ֤יהַּ כַּנֶּ֙שֶׁר֙ קִנֶּ֔ךָ מִשָּׁ֥ם אוֹרִֽידְךָ֖ נְאֻם־יְהֹוָֽה׃
καὶ ἔσται ἡ ῥομφαία ἣν ὑμεῖς φοβεῖσθε ἀπὸ προσώπου αὐτῆς εὑρήσει ὑμᾶς ἐν γῇ Αἰγύπτου καὶ ὁ λιμός οὗ ὑμεῖς λόγον ἔχετε ἀπὸ προσώπου αὐτοῦ καταλήμψεται ὑμᾶς ὀπίσω ὑμῶν ἐν Αἰγύπτῳ καὶ ἐκεῖ ἀποθανεῖσθε
Arrogantia tua decepit te, et superbia cordis tui, qui habitas in cavernis petrae, et apprehendere niteris altitudinem collis : cum exaltaveris quasi aquila nidum tuum, inde detraham te, dicit Dominus.
ተውኔትከ፡ አስተናሥአከ፡ ወትዕቢተ፡ ልብከ፡ ዘየኀድር፡ መልዕልተ፡ ኰኵሕ፡ ወይእኅዝ፡ መልዕልተ፡ ወግር፡ ልዑል፡ እስመ፡ አስረርከ፡ እጐሊከ፡ ከመ፡ ንስር፡ እምህየ፡ አጸድፈከ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር።
As for your terror, the pride of your heart has deceived you, O you who dwell in the clefts of the rock, who hold the height of the hill, though you should make your nest as high as the eagle, I will bring you down from there,” says Yahweh.
49:17
וְהָיְתָ֥ה אֱד֖וֹם לְשַׁמָּ֑ה כֹּ֚ל עֹבֵ֣ר עָלֶ֔יהָ יִשֹּׁ֥ם וְיִשְׁרֹ֖ק עַל־כׇּל־מַכּוֹתֶֽהָ׃
καὶ ἔσονται πάντες οἱ ἄνθρωποι καὶ πάντες οἱ ἀλλογενεῖς οἱ θέντες τὸ πρόσωπον αὐτῶν εἰς γῆν Αἰγύπτου ἐνοικεῖν ἐκεῖ ἐκλείψουσιν ἐν τῇ ῥομφαίᾳ καὶ ἐν τῷ λιμῷ καὶ οὐκ ἔσται αὐτῶν οὐθεὶς σῳζόμενος ἀπὸ τῶν κακῶν ὧν ἐγὼ ἐπάγω ἐπ’ αὐτούς
Et erit Idumaea deserta : omnis qui transibit per eam stupebit, et sibilabit super omnes plagas ejus.
ወትከውን፡ ኤዶምያስ፡ ከመ፡ ዓፅ፡ ኵሉ፡ ዘየኀልፍ፡ እንተ፡ ህየ፡ ይደነግፅ፡ ወይትፋጸይ፡ በእንተ፡ ኵሉ፡ መቅሠፍታ።
“Edom will become an astonishment. Everyone who passes by it will be astonished, and will hiss at all its plagues.
49:18
כְּֽמַהְפֵּכַ֞ת סְדֹ֧ם וַעֲמֹרָ֛ה וּשְׁכֵנֶ֖יהָ אָמַ֣ר יְהֹוָ֑ה לֹא־יֵשֵׁ֥ב שָׁם֙ אִ֔ישׁ וְלֹא־יָג֥וּר בָּ֖הּ בֶּן־אָדָֽם׃
ὅτι οὕτως εἶπεν κύριος καθὼς ἔσταξεν ὁ θυμός μου ἐπὶ τοὺς κατοικοῦντας Ιερουσαλημ οὕτως στάξει ὁ θυμός μου ἐφ’ ὑμᾶς εἰσελθόντων ὑμῶν εἰς Αἴγυπτον καὶ ἔσεσθε εἰς ἄβατον καὶ ὑποχείριοι καὶ εἰς ἀρὰν καὶ εἰς ὀνειδισμὸν καὶ οὐ μὴ ἴδητε οὐκέτι τὸν τόπον τοῦτον
Sicut subversa est Sodoma et Gomorrha, et vicinae ejus, ait Dominus : non habitabit ibi vir, et non incolet eam filius hominis.
ከመ፡ ተገፍትዑ፡ ሰዶም፡ ወገሞራ፡ ወአድያሚሃ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ዘኵሎ፡ ይመልክ፡ ወኢይነብር፡ ህየ፡ ሰብእ፡ ወኢየኀድር፡ ህየ፡ እጓለ፡ እመሕያው።
As in the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah and its neighbor cities,” says Yahweh, “no man will dwell there, neither will any son of man live therein.
49:19
הִ֠נֵּ֠ה כְּאַרְיֵ֞ה יַעֲלֶ֨ה מִגְּא֣וֹן הַיַּרְדֵּן֮ אֶל־נְוֵ֣ה אֵיתָן֒ כִּֽי־אַרְגִּ֤יעָה אֲרִיצֶ֙נּוּ֙ מֵעָלֶ֔יהָ וּמִ֥י בָח֖וּר אֵלֶ֣יהָ אֶפְקֹ֑ד כִּ֣י מִ֤י כָמ֙וֹנִי֙ וּמִ֣י יֹעִידֶ֔נִּי וּמִי־זֶ֣ה רֹעֶ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר יַעֲמֹ֖ד לְפָנָֽי׃ {ס}
ἃ ἐλάλησεν κύριος ἐφ’ ὑμᾶς τοὺς καταλοίπους Ιουδα μὴ εἰσέλθητε εἰς Αἴγυπτον καὶ νῦν γνόντες γνώσεσθε
Ecce quasi leo ascendet de superbia Jordanis ad pulchritudinem robustam, quia subito currere faciam eum ad illam. Et quis erit electus, quem praeponam ei ? quis enim similis mei ? et quis sustinebit me ? et quis est iste pastor, qui resistat vultui meo ?
ናሁ፡ የዐርግ፡ ከመ፡ አንበሳ፡ እምዕበየ፡ ዮርዳኖስ፡ ውስተ፡ ብሔረ፡ ኤታም፡ እስመ፡ ፍጡነ፡ እሰድዶሙ፡ እምኔሃ፡ ወወራዙተ፡ እሠይም፡ ላዕሌሃ፡ መኑ፡ ከማየ፡ ወመኑ፡ ይትቃወመኒ፡ ወመኑዝ፡ ኖላዊ፡ ዘይትቃወም፡ ቅድመ፡ ገጽየ።
“Behold, he will come up like a lion from the pride of the Jordan against the strong habitation; for I will suddenly make them run away from it, and whoever is chosen, I will appoint him over it. For who is like me? Who will appoint me a time? Who is the shepherd who will stand before me?”
49:20
לָכֵ֞ן שִׁמְע֣וּ עֲצַת־יְהֹוָ֗ה אֲשֶׁ֤ר יָעַץ֙ אֶל־אֱד֔וֹם וּמַ֨חְשְׁבוֹתָ֔יו אֲשֶׁ֥ר חָשַׁ֖ב אֶל־יֹשְׁבֵ֣י תֵימָ֑ן אִם־ל֤וֹא יִסְחָבוּם֙ צְעִירֵ֣י הַצֹּ֔אן אִם־לֹ֥א יַשִּׁ֛ים עֲלֵיהֶ֖ם נְוֵהֶֽם׃
ὅτι ἐπονηρεύσασθε ἐν ψυχαῖς ὑμῶν ἀποστείλαντές με λέγοντες πρόσευξαι περὶ ἡμῶν πρὸς κύριον καὶ κατὰ πάντα ἃ ἐὰν λαλήσῃ σοι κύριος ποιήσομεν
Propterea audite consilium Domini quod iniit de Edom, et cogitationes ejus quas cogitavit de habitatoribus Theman : si non dejecerint eos parvuli gregis, nisi dissipaverint cum eis habitaculum eorum.
በእንተ፡ ዝንቱ፡ ስምዑ፡ ምክረ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ዘመከረ፡ ላዕለ፡ ኤዶምያስ፡ ወሕሊናሁ፡ ዘሐለየ፡ ላዕለ፡ እለ፡ ይነብሩ፡ ቴማን፡ እመ፡ ኢሐብለይዎሙ፡ ለትሑታን፡ አባግዕ፡ ወኢረሰይዎ፡ ዓፀ፡ ለማኅደሮሙ፡ ዘውስቴታ።
Therefore hear the counsel of Yahweh, that he has taken against Edom, and his purposes that he has purposed against the inhabitants of Teman: Surely they will drag them away, the little ones of the flock. Surely he will make their habitation desolate over them.
49:21
מִקּ֣וֹל נִפְלָ֔ם רָעֲשָׁ֖ה הָאָ֑רֶץ צְעָקָ֕ה בְּיַם־ס֖וּף נִשְׁמַ֥ע קוֹלָֽהּ׃
καὶ οὐκ ἠκούσατε τῆς φωνῆς κυρίου ἧς ἀπέστειλέν με πρὸς ὑμᾶς
A voce ruinae eorum commota est terra ; clamor in mari Rubro auditus est vocis ejus.
እስመ፡ ደንገፀት፡ ምድር፡ እምነ፡ ድምፀ፡ ድቀቶሙ፡ ወድምፀ፡ ባሕር፡ ኢተሰምዐ።
The earth trembles at the noise of their fall; there is a cry, the noise which is heard in the Red Sea.
49:22
הִנֵּ֤ה כַנֶּ֙שֶׁר֙ יַעֲלֶ֣ה וְיִדְאֶ֔ה וְיִפְרֹ֥שׂ כְּנָפָ֖יו עַל־בׇּצְרָ֑ה וְֽ֠הָיָ֠ה לֵ֞ב גִּבּוֹרֵ֤י אֱדוֹם֙ בַּיּ֣וֹם הַה֔וּא כְּלֵ֖ב אִשָּׁ֥ה מְצֵרָֽה׃ {פ}
καὶ νῦν ἐν ῥομφαίᾳ καὶ ἐν λιμῷ ἐκλείψετε ἐν τῷ τόπῳ οὗ ὑμεῖς βούλεσθε εἰσελθεῖν κατοικεῖν ἐκεῖ
Ecce quasi aquila ascendet, et avolabit, et expandet alas suas super Bosran : et erit cor fortium Idumaeae in die illa quasi cor mulieris parturientis.
ናሁ፡ ከመ፡ ንስር፡ ይሰርር፡ ወይኔጽር፡ ወይሰፍሕ፡ ክነፊሁ፡ ላዕለ፡ ባሶር፡ ወይከውን፡ ልቦሙ፡ ለጽኑዓነ፡ ኤዶምያስ፡ በይእቲ፡ ዕለት፡ ከመ፡ ልበ፡ ብእሲት፡ እንተ፡ ውስተ፡ ማሕምም።
Behold, he will come up and fly as the eagle, and spread out his wings against Bozrah. The heart of the mighty men of Edom at that day will be as the heart of a woman in her pangs.
49:23
לְדַמֶּ֗שֶׂק בּ֤וֹשָֽׁה חֲמָת֙ וְאַרְפָּ֔ד כִּֽי־שְׁמֻעָ֥ה רָעָ֛ה שָׁמְע֖וּ נָמֹ֑גוּ בַּיָּ֣ם דְּאָגָ֔ה הַשְׁקֵ֖ט לֹ֥א יוּכָֽל׃
—
Ad Damascum. Confusa est Emath et Arphad, quia auditum pessimum audierunt : turbati sunt in mari ; prae sollicitudine quiescere non potuit.
ዘበእንተ፡ ደማስቆ፡ ተኀፍራ፡ ኤርማት፡ ወአርፋድ፡ እስመ፡ እኩየ፡ ነገረ፡ ሰምዓ፡ ወደንገፃ፡ ከመ፡ ባሕር፡ ወተምዕዓ፡ ወኢይክላ፡ እንከ፡ አዕርፎ።
Of Damascus: “Hamath and Arpad are confounded, for they have heard evil news. They have melted away. There is sorrow on the sea. It can’t be quiet.
49:24
רָפְתָ֥ה דַמֶּ֛שֶׂק הִפְנְתָ֥ה לָנ֖וּס וְרֶ֣טֶט׀הֶחֱזִ֑יקָה צָרָ֧ה וַחֲבָלִ֛ים אֲחָזַ֖תָּה כַּיּוֹלֵדָֽה׃
—
Dissoluta est Damascus, versa est in fugam : tremor apprehendit eam, angustia et dolores tenuerunt eam quasi parturientem.
ተመስወት፡ ደማስቆ፡ ወመምዐት፡ ወጐየት፡ ወአኀዛ፡ ረዓድ፡ ወአኀዛ፡ ማሕምም፡ ከመ፡ እንተ፡ ትወልድ።
Damascus has grown feeble, she turns herself to flee, and trembling has seized her. Anguish and sorrows have taken hold of her, as of a woman in travail.
49:25
אֵ֥יךְ לֹֽא־עֻזְּבָ֖ה עִ֣יר (תהלה) [תְּהִלָּ֑ת] קִרְיַ֖ת מְשׂוֹשִֽׂי׃
—
Quomodo dereliquerunt civitatem laudabilem, urbem laetitiae ?
እፎ፡ ኢኀደጉ፡ ሀገረ፡ ላቲ፡ ወዐጸደ፡ ዘአፍቀሩ።
How is the city of praise not forsaken, the city of my joy?
49:26
לָכֵ֛ן יִפְּל֥וּ בַחוּרֶ֖יהָ בִּרְחֹבֹתֶ֑יהָ וְכׇל־אַנְשֵׁ֨י הַמִּלְחָמָ֤ה יִדַּ֙מּוּ֙ בַּיּ֣וֹם הַה֔וּא נְאֻ֖ם יְהֹוָ֥ה צְבָאֽוֹת׃
—
Ideo cadent juvenes ejus in plateis ejus, et omnes viri praelii conticescent in die illa, ait Dominus exercituum.
በእንተ፡ ዝንቱ፡ ይወድቁ፡ ወራዙቲሃ፡ ውስተ፡ መርሕባ፡ ወይወድቁ፡ ዕደውኪ፡ መስተቃትላን፡ ይእተ፡ አሚረ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር።
Therefore her young men will fall in her streets, and all the men of war will be brought to silence in that day,” says Yahweh of Armies.
49:27
וְהִצַּ֥תִּי אֵ֖שׁ בְּחוֹמַ֣ת דַּמָּ֑שֶׂק וְאָכְלָ֖ה אַרְמְנ֥וֹת בֶּן־הֲדָֽד׃ {פ}
—
Et succendam ignem in muro Damasci, et devorabit moenia Benadad.
ወአነድድ፡ እሳተ፡ ላዕለ፡ አረፋቲሃ፡ ለደማስቆ፡ ወትበልዕ፡ አብድንቲሁ፡ ለወልደ፡ አዴር።
“I will kindle a fire in the wall of Damascus, and it will devour the palaces of Ben Hadad.”
49:28
לְקֵדָ֣ר׀ וּֽלְמַמְלְכ֣וֹת חָצ֗וֹר אֲשֶׁ֤ר הִכָּה֙ (נבוכדראצור) [נְבוּכַדְרֶאצַּ֣ר] מֶלֶךְ־בָּבֶ֔ל כֹּ֖ה אָמַ֣ר יְהֹוָ֑ה ק֚וּמוּ עֲל֣וּ אֶל־קֵדָ֔ר וְשׇׁדְד֖וּ אֶת־בְּנֵי־קֶֽדֶם׃
—
Ad Cedar, et ad regna Asor, quae percussit Nabuchodonosor rex Babylonis. Haec dicit Dominus : Surgite, et ascendite ad Cedar, et vastate filios orientis.
ዘበእንተ፡ ቄዳር፡ ወለነገሥተ፡ አዕፃዳት፡ እንተ፡ ቀተለ፡ ናቡከደነፆር፡ ንጉሠ፡ ባቢሎን፡ ከመዝ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ተንሥኡ፡ ወዕርጉ፡ ላዕለ፡ ቄዳር፡ ወአጥፍእዎሙ፡ ለደቂቀ፡ ቄዴም።
Of Kedar, and of the kingdoms of Hazor, which Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon struck, Yahweh says: “Arise, go up to Kedar, and destroy the children of the east.
49:29
אׇהֳלֵיהֶ֤ם וְצֹאנָם֙ יִקָּ֔חוּ יְרִיעוֹתֵיהֶ֧ם וְכׇל־כְּלֵיהֶ֛ם וּגְמַלֵּיהֶ֖ם יִשְׂא֣וּ לָהֶ֑ם וְקָרְא֧וּ עֲלֵיהֶ֛ם מָג֖וֹר מִסָּבִֽיב׃
—
Tabernacula eorum, et greges eorum capient : pelles eorum, et omnia vasa eorum, et camelos eorum tollent sibi, et vocabunt super eos formidinem in circuitu.
ተዓይኒሆሙኒ፡ ወአባግዒሆሙኒ፡ ይንሥኡ፡ ወራዕይሆሙ፡ ወኵሎ፡ ንዋዮሙ፡ ወአግማሊሆሙኒ፡ ይንሥኡ፡ ለርእሶሙ፡ ወጸውዑ፡ ፈላሴ፡ እምአድያም።
They will take their tents and their flocks. they will carry away for themselves their curtains, all their vessels, and their camels; and they will cry to them, ‘Terror on every side!’
49:30
נֻ֩סוּ֩ נֻּ֨דוּ מְאֹ֜ד הֶעְמִ֧יקוּ לָשֶׁ֛בֶת יֹשְׁבֵ֥י חָצ֖וֹר נְאֻם־יְהֹוָ֑ה כִּֽי־יָעַ֨ץ עֲלֵיכֶ֜ם נְבוּכַדְרֶאצַּ֤ר מֶלֶךְ־בָּבֶל֙ עֵצָ֔ה וְחָשַׁ֥ב (עליהם) [עֲלֵיכֶ֖ם] מַחֲשָׁבָֽה׃
—
Fugite, abite vehementer, in voraginibus sedete, qui habitatis Asor, ait Dominus : iniit enim contra vos Nabuchodonosor rex Babylonis consilium, et cogitavit adversum vos cogitationes.
ወጕዩ፡ ወተሀወኩ፡ ጥቀ፡ አዕምቁ፡ ለነቢር፡ እለ፡ ትነብሩ፡ ውስተ፡ አዕፃዳት፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ እስመ፡ መከረ፡ ላዕሌክሙ፡ ንጉሠ፡ ባቢሎን፡ ምክረ፡ ወሐለየ፡ ሕሊና፡ እኩየ።
Flee! Wander far off! Dwell in the depths, you inhabitants of Hazor,” says Yahweh; “for Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon has taken counsel against you, and has conceived a purpose against you.
49:31
ק֣וּמֽוּ עֲל֗וּ אֶל־גּ֥וֹי שְׁלֵ֛יו יוֹשֵׁ֥ב לָבֶ֖טַח נְאֻם־יְהֹוָ֑ה לֹא־דְלָתַ֧יִם וְלֹֽא־בְרִ֛יחַ ל֖וֹ בָּדָ֥ד יִשְׁכֹּֽנוּ׃
—
Consurgite, et ascendite ad gentem quietam, et habitantem confidenter, ait Dominus : non ostia, nec vectes eis : soli habitant.
ተንሥኡ፡ ወዕርጉ፡ ላዕለ፡ ሕዝብ፡ ዘሠናየ፡ ይቀውም፡ ወዕሩፈ፡ ይነብር፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ እለ፡ አልቦሙ፡ ማዕጾ፡ ወኢመንሠግ፡ ወኢመዝግሕ፡ አላ፡ ባሕቲቶሙ፡ ይነብሩ።
Arise! Go up to a nation that is at ease, that dwells without care,” says Yahweh; “that has neither gates nor bars, that dwells alone.
49:32
וְהָי֨וּ גְמַלֵּיהֶ֜ם לָבַ֗ז וַהֲמ֤וֹן מִקְנֵיהֶם֙ לְשָׁלָ֔ל וְזֵרִתִ֥ים לְכׇל־ר֖וּחַ קְצוּצֵ֣י פֵאָ֑ה וּמִכׇּל־עֲבָרָ֛יו אָבִ֥יא אֶת־אֵידָ֖ם נְאֻם־יְהֹוָֽה׃
—
Et erunt cameli eorum in direptionem, et multitudo jumentorum in praedam : et dispergam eos in omnem ventum, qui sunt attonsi in comam, et ex omni confinio eorum adducam interitum super eos, ait Dominus.
ወይከውኑ፡ አግማሊሆሙ፡ ለምህርካ፡ ወእንስሳሆሙ፡ ለፄዋ፡ ወየሐፍሶሙ፡ ኵሉ፡ ነፋስ፡ ቅሩጻነ፡ ገጽ፡ ወአመጽእ፡ ሐጕሎሙ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር።
Their camels will be a booty, and the multitude of their livestock a plunder. I will scatter to all winds those who have the corners of their beards cut off; and I will bring their calamity from every side of them,” says Yahweh.
49:33
וְהָיְתָ֨ה חָצ֜וֹר לִמְע֥וֹן תַּנִּ֛ים שְׁמָמָ֖ה עַד־עוֹלָ֑ם לֹא־יֵשֵׁ֥ב שָׁם֙ אִ֔ישׁ וְלֹא־יָג֥וּר בָּ֖הּ בֶּן־אָדָֽם׃ {ס}
—
Et erit Asor in habitaculum draconum, deserta usque in aeternum : non manebit ibi vir, nec incolet eam filius hominis.
ወይከውን፡ አዕፃዳቲሆሙ፡ ማኅደረ፡ ለአዕዋፍ፡ ወዓፀ፡ ዘለዓለመ፡ ዓለም፡ ህየ፡ ሰብእ፡ ወኢየኀድር፡ ህየ፡ እጓለ፡ እመሕያው።
Hazor will be a dwelling place of jackals, a desolation forever. No man will dwell there, neither will any son of man live therein.”
49:34
אֲשֶׁ֨ר הָיָ֧ה דְבַר־יְהֹוָ֛ה אֶל־יִרְמְיָ֥הוּ הַנָּבִ֖יא אֶל־עֵילָ֑ם בְּרֵאשִׁ֗ית מַלְכ֛וּת צִדְקִיָּ֥ה מֶלֶךְ־יְהוּדָ֖ה לֵאמֹֽר׃
—
Quod facum est verbum Domini ad Jeremiam prophetam adversus Aelam, in principio regni Sedeciae regis Juda, dicens :
ቃለ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ዘኮነ፡ ኀበ፡ ኤርምያስ፡ ነቢይ፡ በእንተ፡ ኤላም፡ በቀዳሚ፡ መንግሥቱ፡ ለሴዴቅያስ፡ ንጉሠ፡ ይሁዳ፡ ወይቤ።
Yahweh’s word that came to Jeremiah the prophet concerning Elam, in the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, saying,
49:35
כֹּ֤ה אָמַר֙ יְהֹוָ֣ה צְבָא֔וֹת הִנְנִ֥י שֹׁבֵ֖ר אֶת־קֶ֣שֶׁת עֵילָ֑ם רֵאשִׁ֖ית גְּבוּרָתָֽם׃
—
Haec dicit Dominus exercituum : Ecce ego confringam arcum Aelam, et summam fortitudinem eorum :
ከመዝ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ጸባኦት፡ ናሁ፡ እሰብር፡ ቀስተ፡ ኤላም፡ ቀዳሜ፡ ኃይሎሙ።
“Yahweh of Armies says: ‘Behold, I will break the bow of Elam, the chief of their might.
49:36
וְהֵבֵאתִ֨י אֶל־עֵילָ֜ם אַרְבַּ֣ע רוּח֗וֹת מֵֽאַרְבַּע֙ קְצ֣וֹת הַשָּׁמַ֔יִם וְזֵ֣רִתִ֔ים לְכֹ֖ל הָרֻח֣וֹת הָאֵ֑לֶּה וְלֹא־יִהְיֶ֣ה הַגּ֔וֹי אֲשֶׁ֛ר לֹא־יָב֥וֹא שָׁ֖ם נִדְּחֵ֥י (עולם) [עֵילָֽם]׃
—
et inducam super Aelam quatuor ventos a quatuor plagis caeli, et ventilabo eos in omnes ventos istos, et non erit gens ad quam non perveniant profugi Aelam.
ወአመጽእ፡ ላዕለ፡ ኤላም፡ ፬ነፋሳተ፡ እም፬አጽናፈ፡ ሰማይ፡ ወእዘርዎሙ፡ ውስተ፡ ኵሉ፡ ነፋሳት፡ ወአልቦ፡ ሕዝብ፡ ዘኢይመጽእ፡ ህየ፡ እለ፡ ተሰዱ፡ እምኤላም።
I will bring on Elam the four winds from the four quarters of the sky, and will scatter them toward all those winds. There will be no nation where the outcasts of Elam will not come.
49:37
וְהַחְתַּתִּ֣י אֶת־עֵ֠ילָ֠ם לִפְנֵ֨י אֹיְבֵיהֶ֜ם וְלִפְנֵ֣י׀ מְבַקְשֵׁ֣י נַפְשָׁ֗ם וְהֵבֵאתִ֨י עֲלֵיהֶ֧ם׀רָעָ֛ה אֶת־חֲר֥וֹן אַפִּ֖י נְאֻם־יְהֹוָ֑ה וְשִׁלַּחְתִּ֤י אַחֲרֵיהֶם֙ אֶת־הַחֶ֔רֶב עַ֥ד כַּלּוֹתִ֖י אוֹתָֽם׃
—
Et pavere faciam Aelam coram inimicis suis, et in conspectu quaerentium animam eorum : et adducam super eos malum, iram furoris mei, dicit Dominus, et mittam post eos gladium donec consumam eos.
ወአደነግፆሙ፡ ለኤላም፡ በቅድመ፡ ኵሉ፡ ፀሮሙ፡ ወበቅድመ፡ እለ፡ የኀሥሠዋ፡ ለነፍሶሙ፡ ወአመጽእ፡ መቅሠፍተ፡ ነዐትየ፡ ላዕሌሆሙ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ወአመጽእ፡ መጥባሕተ፡ ዲቤሆሙ፡ እስከ፡ አኀልቆሙ።
I will cause Elam to be dismayed before their enemies, and before those who seek their life. I will bring evil on them, even my fierce anger,’ says Yahweh; ‘and I will send the sword after them, until I have consumed them.
49:38
וְשַׂמְתִּ֥י כִסְאִ֖י בְּעֵילָ֑ם וְהַאֲבַדְתִּ֥י מִשָּׁ֛ם מֶ֥לֶךְ וְשָׂרִ֖ים נְאֻם־יְהֹוָֽה׃
—
Et ponam solium meum in Aelam, et perdam inde reges et principes, ait Dominus.
ወአነብር፡ መንበርየ፡ ውስተ፡ ኤላም፡ ወአጠፍእ፡ እምህየ፡ ነገሥተ፡ ወመሳፍንተ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር።
I will set my throne in Elam, and will destroy from there king and princes,’ says Yahweh.
49:39
וְהָיָ֣ה׀ בְּאַחֲרִ֣ית הַיָּמִ֗ים (אשוב) [אָשִׁ֛יב] אֶת־[שְׁב֥וּת] (שבית) עֵילָ֖ם נְאֻם־יְהֹוָֽה׃ {פ}

In novissimis autem diebus reverti faciam captivos Aelam, dicit Dominus.
ወይከውን፡ በደኃሪ፡ መዋዕል፡ ወእመይጥ፡ ፄዋ፡ ኤላም፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር።
‘But it will happen in the latter days that I will reverse the captivity of Elam,’ says Yahweh.”
